Reviews of Gallery Place
Great place, me and the wife sneak off during the week, and its so peaceful. P.S. they will validate your parking if you ask, they won't tell you tho. Oh power reclining chairs too!
It was an awesome experience. I visited the planet fitness the staff were friendly and inviting. The atmosphere was great!
Gallery Place has turned into a Gathering Place! People are everywhere. They are sitting on the sidewalk in chairs, crates, bikes, scooters, and wheelchairs. There are also young babies in strollers.
There is plenty of smoking going on here.
There is trash on the sidewalks and in the streets.
Good luck trying to get into the Metro.
There is normally police presence, they are out numbered if a fight or disturbance breaks out.
Now I try to avoid this area, due to safety concerns.
This is where the 80, P6, and the X2 Metro bus stops are.
They have a theater and good shopping/food.
Great place to enjoy downtown city life. Lots of fun places and lots of food. Weekends are always booming
I go to the Regal theater because it's the only one or two within the DMV with the 4DX movie experience. I watch big block busters there & can't wait for Black Panther in 4DX & more.
Movie theater was great I enjoyed 4D experience. Clean theater but bathrooms need some attention.
Awesome sites! Really loved the Chinese writing next to English signs. Found a wonderful little restaurant with fast service and delicious food. I loved how close the metro station was.
They have many places were you can eat at a reasonable price.
Gallery place is must to visit in DC . The neighborhood is iconic tons of restaurants coffee shops and a variety of stores. Home to Capital one arena. I recommend public transportation since parking is very difficult to find.
Also a picture of Chinatown Arch is must .
Now this is a fun shopping area, even have a movie theater, good restaurants.
✅ It's conveniently located in Penn Quarter and also in the F Street shopping district, the traditional downtown shopping and entertainment area. ✅ Indoor is spacious and refreshing, with a great design. ❎ It’s hard to find a parking spot on the street nearby.
Like most of downtown Washington it's a ghost town because of covid but like the Phoenix it will rise again
This area had great happy hour specials and a really relaxed cool vibe to walk around for a little while and explore..
It was actually The Verizon Center....
Getting into it was bad!
I cut my finger going into the Woman's bathroom stall....I have no idea on what!!!!
Thank God I wasn't far from first Aid!
The seating attendant lady....didn't even try to show me where my seat was!!! 🤣
Thank God....
Joe...
Anthony Hamilton...
And My Handsome
Maxwell made UP for all the stuff I thought was crazy like!
A small purse!!!🤣🤣🤣
My cosmetology school was located here so I know the area to well, I used to go on dates to the movies here all of the time but never visited the bowling alley. The restaurants have good quality food and are very upscale , the crowd casual popular and it's lit... One of my favorite places just to stand outside and crowd watch during events...
I love DC & Gallery Place this place is amazing. Lots of options on food fun, movies & events.
Nice three story shopping center with the movie theatre on the top floor. There's a lot of empty store space.
Is a great place to visit gallery place is busy catching trains but it's very clean down there so a lot of visitors do come down to get the train
Atypical "mall" layout featuring typical mall stores and entertainment. Recommend not driving--parking on the street is limited and the garage is $27.
They have live music sometime which is great..but they also have people who are drunk sometimes which is not so great
I go down here to watch my kids at the kung fu school. It's a very nice, but urban environment. It's what you would expect for downtown DC.
You will find a lot things to do and varsity of restaurants!!
A lot of the night life is closed down now due to the pandemic so with Bar Louis not withstanding the conditions Clyde's is the only thing left, meaning that there may be no room depending on what time you arrive. Clyde's staff is welcoming and accommodating nonetheless encouraging what's left of any seating options. The only thing left in the building where Bar Louis used to be is the movie theater. Lucky Strike is also closed now.
I use metra everyday to go to work. No problem except when sometimes on the greenbelt, it doesn't reach the final destination. But since some weeks z it reaches the final destination. I hope it will ever continue like that
Had a blast with my little big mini me @Gallery Place Regal Movies. This dude talks 90% of the movie, but it's always fun times with him; even though I am always saying, shhhhh........ only down fall is they nearly had any of the hot foods listed on the menu.
I've been to this theater several times and I'm never disappointed. The theater is always clean and the customer service is always on point. Most of the latest movies are always playing here. You won't find a better theater in the area. I promise you.
Good gallery space that is inviting. Gift shop had limited selection that was overpriced in my opinion
Ok watch out at all times when out at nite 😐😅 but it's okey 😌 …
In DC in Chinatown area. Lovely area. I had not been to Chinatown in 12 years and was surprised by the change. The spot we went to was looking run down. We did enjoy a delicious meal at Briers.
This place is still a ghost town but they've cleaned it up quite a bit. The theater seating is much better.
Regal cinema is located here and always a great place to enjoy movies. They also validate packing for Regal customers.
What can I say about gallery place. It’s a Metro Subway station that is conveniently located in the Federal Triangle area. I would give it more stars but it’s kind of dirty and we did see a rat
Definitely one of the best places to park in the Chinatown area of DC. Part of it is the location and it is also a very large facility with good sized parking spots and working escalators and elevators. But what makes it especially memorable is that the staff of parking attendants are almost all women who are very professional and also just so delightful and pleasant to chat with! This is nearly unique in the parking industry! Definitely patronize these folks!
The Premier place for entertainment in DC. It’s always a treat to come down to Gallery Place and enjoy the metro side food entertainment and Arena stadium. The experience is truly unique with great lighting , Spectacular range of options and even sometimes live street performances. If you’re ever in DC it’s always a fun place to go with the young trendy crowd.
This is about the Portrait Gallery next door to "Gallery Place" the mall - One of the lesser known museums, it is also one of the very best. The courtyard is tranquil. You can get a bite to eat, the gift shop is nice, and the water features are soothing. This museum has many nooks that are a surprise. Also, there are much more than just portraits here. Be pleasantly surprised by spending a few hours walking through here. But it is also possibly the best museum for a quick walk through... you can see a lot in 15 minutes here.
Nice to walk around and window shop
Great scene of diversity. So much going on that you can't get bored. So many places to eat and shop. Very convenient to public transportation so on nice days you don't have to drive in the congested downtown DC traffic. I LOOOOVE my city. ❤
Downtown DC great place to hang out
Awesome movie theater is huge great restaurants and shops
I really like Gallery Place. This area has nothing to do with China but it is a very great place to get food or be entertained. I really like the movies and restaurants. This is a great area to visit if you are from out of town or need a safe space go on a date or meet friends.
It's on my bus route home, but it is ALWAYS bustling with people and things are opened back up again, so that's exciting.
Nice. Me and my lady friend enjoyed ourselves in the movie theater. Of course the seats there are comfortable because I tend to dose of whenever I go. I still get to see my do portion of whatever movie we go watch.
Such an amazing hang out spot if you're waiting for a specific event. The movie theater has very good seats that recline unlike old fashioned movie theater this one is pretty good with it's State-of-the-art Style. So many eateries around gallery place, Sometimes hard to pick which one you want to dine at but but eventually you will find the one that suits you best. If you're on a budget no problem because they have a McDonald's and chipotle.
Go to cava !! That food place is a must. The food omg forget about Chipotle thats nothing compare to this eastern food restaura t and the service omg what a lovely people.. get the bowl and add on the veggies and the pita bread. The kids menu its good and big so worthy im coming back asap tomorrow. For more of this
We enjoyed a short walk around after eating......
Over the place, architecturally pleasant to the eyes!
Beautifull place in china square. You have a feeling like you are in China.A lot of things like bars and stores around.
Wonderful vibes... Great place to get fresh tasty Asian cuisine in every direction. Safe, clean and well lit at night.
Went to Clyde's. Everything was good until some people came in rather loud. It was 3 young men who then proceeded to play loud music from their boom box. It was annoying so we left.
Many shops and plenty of burger spots to choice from
Wow, talk about clean, safe, and family friendly atmosphere. Everything you can ask for is here and I recommend if your ever in Sliver springs, Maryland by all means visit Gallery place. Eat @ Potbelly shop at a lot of stores then hit the Regency theater they have 20 screens and as I said before very safe. ENJOY
Great vibrant commercial district, especially catering to basketball and hockey home crowd. Nice history and culture connected to the portrait gallery where Lincoln's war-time second inaugural took place. The former parent office was also a hospital where Walt Whitman and others tended to the battlefield survivors. Gallery Place is not far from the Mall and National Archives. Lots of commercial venues, most lacking charm. Head to the Chinese eateries on F Street for that.
There's a lot to eat & see over here. First off it's Gallery Place / Chinatown. So if you're a tourist do yourself a favor & see some of the Gallery this place is named for. The art is phenomenal & the cafe is such a beautiful space especially for photography. I only eat at certain places over here (hello Vapianos!) But there's a lot to choose from. Just do your research. You'll more than likely have a line wherever you go because this is a major tourist stop but it's all part of the experience.
It's all here but over crowded
The music by local artists street performances are great. Buy their products. It smells like urine though. High teenagers hangout around the shopping center entrance, so if you're allergic to that just keep walking.
Really nice area we had a great time in Chinatown with some great food.
Killing some time out of the weather prior to the Nuggets vs Wizards. We recommend the pizza and Mediterranean salad. Need to book ahead for a lane on a weekend if you go up to lucky strikes. Wish there were other stores instead of just a bed bath and beyond. How about a sports store next to an arena? Definately a handy parking garage to walk right over to Capital One Arena without going outside!
Since I am staying in Washington for the next 3 days I went out and check the spots nearby my hotel
I bumped in to Gallery Place, which I find fun and lively mall
Movies, bowling, bars, dining, and much more.
There's a lot of things you can do inside, perfect to have a time bonding with your family or friends
A great place to be in DC, a lot of things to do
An art gallery which is very cool
The whole place is colorful and you can feel the happy vibe
Bathrooms are so clean, though the place is so busy
Well-maintained and clean wherever area you look
Staff are very friendly and helpful
They assisted me with full smiles whenever I got lost and needed rescue
I did some shopping at the Chinese corner
It was fun experience, I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family back home
So that whenever they plan to travel here, they will surely visit this place
Great place, great staff!
Absolutely busy. Lots of food choices to meet your pocket. Have your wits about you it's a mixed bag of characters. Take no one for granted. Ultimately, it's a fancy strip mall. There's a movie theater, a Thai place that isn't bad for a chain restaurant, and an ice cream place located conveniently near a gym. There are also a couple of decent bars, for that post workout whiskey that all doctors recommend. Still, at the end of the day, it's a strip mall.
China town needs a revamp or a renovation.
Homelessness and drugs plauge this once thriving neighborhood.
One of the premier social gathering spots in DC. Always lively and fun. Movies, bowling, bars, dining, and much more. Plenty here to occupy your time and have a good time with family or friends. You can even catch a professional sports game or concert at the adjacent arena. Modern and contemporary ambience in the heart of downtown DC!
Awesome stores food everywhere bus trains cabs music playing live just alot of traffic
Love going to movies In this area ,all the talent in the streets and variety of restaurants in the area will keep you busy for a while.
Great experience. It's a multi-cultural, mixed diversity environment filled with more than a handful of things to do, from movies and bowling to dining and sightseeing. Few local brewery restaurants with tons of nightclubs to suite your nightlife. Expect normal crowds and of course, locals... Good amount of hotels and hostels in the area and surrounding for those who choose or plan on staying in the heart of the city. More than a ton of top-notch shopping stores to grab a souvenir for memories or a relative or an outfit or two while in town. Lastly transportation is available and/or provided and definitely tight SECURITY. Welcome to the Home of the Wizards, Land of the Capitals, Heart of the Nationals.
P.S. ... while in the "Chinatown" area be sure to check out the Verizon Center, where all major D.C. sporting teams play. #JohnWall.
This location is always busy. You can shop for clothes, enjoy a movie, eat with friends, get harrassed by the local young people, and experience new restaurants.
A very diverse area with lots of fun things to do. There are a ton of bars and restaurants as well as the Verizon Center that holds a wide variety of events almost daily. I particularly like the street performers, more specifically the musicians that make my day after a long day at work. Check them out during the day and evening usually outside two of the metro entrances.
I love this area. It is fun to wander around. There are usually street performers (just listen and follow). The best noodle shop in town is down the street & called Chinatown Express (746 6th St NW). There is usually a fairly high police presence in the area, I would avoid the McDonald's.
A very nice mall in the downtown area. It has a movie theater which I have attended in the past. And a wonderful restaurant, Clyde's. It is a perfect place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. The food is great, prices moderate, and service is great.
Brought my colleagues from Asia before thanksgiving. Chinatown is still great as shopping and dining experience. Hoping they will do something with parking and some renovation. Still a nice place to hang out.
Love the vibe and energy around this place/ area. Cool structure and lots to do. The Chinatown theme is small but you still get a good taste of the neighborhood/ atmosphere.
Not the best place for a date night if your 30+. When I was younger it seemed like the place to be. Too many ignorant teenagers, homeless people and drug addicts for you to truly enjoy. Find something away from the metro line if your dating.
This area is good for a basketball ball game or concert as you have the Capitol one arenea (formerly known as Verizon center). There's a lot of places to eat..
We went to the cinemas here and had a hagen das ice cream. The ice cream was delish. The staff of the cinemas selling tickets seemed very unhappy to be there however that didn't ruin the experience. The cinema had recliner chairs which were super comfortable. Check it out.
It's not the same Gallery Place I'm used too, Thanx to Gentrification. Covid-19 and the protest has certain parts really quite! It's still a good walk but I wish we could go back to when it was friendly!
The Regal Cinemas there were amazing! I had a leather seat that I could adjust to lying down position. It was so comfortable!! I was in row C in theater 8. What a great way to watch Lion King with Beyonce voicing Nala! Awesome!
Great place to visit if you're if you're coming in the city for the first time. A lot of restaurants to choose from and new hotels to stay at. There are activities like the Capital One Arena formerly known as the Verizon Center that you can go see sports events and shows upon availability and scheduling. Also museums and shopping is at your availability as well.
I love this Clyde's. Always clean and the service is fantastic. Never had a bad experience with the food and I'm always leaving satisfied.
One of my all time favorites
Can't beat this place and if they get rite of the derelix from around. WOUND FUL
Lovely place inside the establishments.
McDonald is next to movie theater and Verizon. It has a captive customer. You wait in lines in a crowded space hang around in crowd to pick up food and fight for a place to sit or wait for someone to leave or eat standing up. Food is as usual. Atmosphere unpleasant crowded and you eat fast food fast and get out as quickly as possible.
The downtown area Mecca of entertainment, views, foods and volunteer escort about the city sights sounds and bright experiences. The mall is that close to dreamy thanks to the location and and constant upgrading. I go there pretyy often!
Clyde's was amazing! Food was spectacular. Lamb chops to die for, strong patron margaritas and old fashion drink was perfect. Sirloin grilled perfectly. Bread pudding was Devine. Calamai.. yummy Thanks to our server, Somade for being patient.
Chinatown is nice. There's a restaurant and bar for everyone. Great happy hour places and lots of options. The new parking rates are out of control on 7th Street ($4/hr) but parking on any side street is only about $1/hr. Be mindful of your possessions as you should in any city center.
It's more safe and cleaner
Few shops here and there, lots of food such as five guys, crimson diner, the Irish channel, legal seafoods, McDonald’s, hooters, and few others. There is a big homeless population in gallery place as the shelters are near here. The Chinatown arch is also used a political podium/ underground artist stage. Some days you’ll find groups screaming and ranting to repent, and some days you’ll hear genuinely amazing artists signing and preforming. All in all you’re walking through a big city, you’re gonna see a lot of walks of life and political opinions. Not a bad place to visit but don’t plan a trip around gallery place.
Ultimately, it's a fancy strip mall. There's a movie theater, a Thai place that isn't bad for a chain restaurant, and an ice cream place located conveniently near a gym. There are also a couple of decent bars, for that post workout whiskey that all doctors reccomend. Still, at the end of the day, it's a strip mall.
Great area for food and fun. Weather it's a date night dinner and movie, a Wizards game and bowling, or a trip to the Museum and then movies, there is something for everyone.
I was only here for a couple hours. But it's connection to the metro makes it easy to reach. The food was excellent and the area has a nice thematic look and feel to it. The entry archway is a welcome sight when coming out from the metro.
Super busy Plaza that can be a bit confusing to navigate in the heart of China Town. Fun tourist spot
This place is no-stop fun children and adults alike it even has a bowling ally and a movie theater and shops galore
This is a lovely little shopping area with some good, functional shops, decent restaurants, a movie theater, and a couple of great museums nearby. It's comparatively less tourist-ridden than many surrounding areas and can be a nice spot for a quieter night out.
Great stores and beautiful place to tour with great restaurants. Not allot of street parking. But plenty of pay to park lots
There is a good bunch of vegan friendly food places in here. Mexican coffee, not just food, organic juice and plates... a bar or two. Really, a nice lunchtime getaway, except bars of course😎. …
Gallery place is a nice place to go see local talent come out and show there talent. However its just so congested with young kids that are fighting or being annoying that it makes you dont want to go and stay around. Its ashame every time i go the police are always having to arrest someone or you have to walk through a situation to get to your destination there.
Nice place I particularly love the movie theater and managemen. My club had an event and somehow things got turned around and we had more people the theater could hold and they let the extra go into another theater that was showing the same movie.
I frequently hit this area for dining and seeing movies. You'll see great street performers in between the Clyde's and Chipotle. So many beggars posted up and in that McDonald's though. Inside and out. Typical crowd at chipotle (very small portions here). Regal theater is 1 of the nice theaters in the area since the upgrades.
I like McDonald's I don't really eat their but I like their drinks and Shakes I think about this McDonald's is located in Gallery Place and there's a lot of homeless people that hang out there someone of the safest place to go to but it's one of the cheapest I guess if they can monitor the ins and outs and a lot of young kids hang out there just make sure you bring some hand sanitizer cuz you definitely going to need it walking through there
We went to the movies 🤔 …
Nice little place to eat. It is clean and tidy. Japanese foods with bar. Eat with friends or alone, a good place to go. The door is small, it is on the 2nd floor. People may be easy to miss it
Elevator needs work and more regulation or supervision to make sure people with disabilities get priority!
I waited 15 minutes for it to pick me up one time and 20+ minutes the other time! That's ridiculous! When it got to my floor - it was so full - there was no room for me to get on and not a single able-bodied person would get off or make room for me to get on! Not acceptable.
ADA accessibility must be provided anytime the mall or stores/restaurants are open!
This is a very vibrant place, full of energy and activities. Movies, bowling, sports, and plenty of restaurants. Just be aware of your surroundings if you are alone walking late at night.
Inside the shopping mall area are several restaurants and bars, as well as a several screen movie theater. Immediately adjacent the Verizon Center. Outside the enclosed area are several more restaurants and bars. Some are great, some not so much. Knid of hit or miss. Metro connects here as well.
The cover photo here in Google Maps currently has 3 police cars MPD keeping you safe in Gallery Place which does have an elevated incidence of robbery. It's a focal point in the Penn Quarter neighborhood which had many restaurants that are mostly closed. The Arena is home to the famous Washington Capitals and also hosts other competitions. It's also adjacent to Washington's Chinatown and Metro accessible on several lines. Wear a mask to use the WMATA buses or trains.
Really, could use a renovation. A very random hodgepodge of shops and entertainment against a rather pretentious and poorly executed facade. The BBB is nice though with the world market attached. The theater here is probably the worst in DC in terms of experience and seats. Needs an upgrade!!
Unngh.. Gallery Place is Gallery Place... I mean, if you can navigate through the bunch of zombies standing outside [during good weather], just cluttering up the daggone sidewalk, in no particular hurry to go anywhere, it seems, then, the shops and area is pretty nice. I normally walk through at lunch time (I work down the street)... so, when the weather is nice, there are all these weirdo folk out there, just kinda lingering during lunch time. It can be a little annoying, but, hey, like I said, "Gallery Place is Gallery Place"... it's part of DC.
Went to watch a movie and had fun with the kids, although parking is one issue you have to deal with, but had fun.
Gallery Place was clean but the shops were closed when I was visiting the Movie theatre.
Great place to visit while in DC. A great bar scene. One side of the metro stop lets out near some free are museums, and the other side lets out in Chinatown. Places to go are Pizza pi, absolute noodle, Rosa Mexicano, and Fado Irish pub. Clyde's is really good too.
Nice outdoor space. Plenty of shops and restaurants to check our.
Great food, Verizon Center, Chinatown.
A little grungy, but appropriately situated for a movie if you happen to be in this area. IMAX and Dolby can get astronomically expensive -much more than the service and locale should command.
Awesome time! The FAM and I really enjoy...d ourselves here
Great place to watch the CAPS and hang around at great restaurants. The atmosphere is extremely safe since alot of police are around. Very lively place..to meet people.
Everything about the movie experience was fine...if you want to know about Clydes experience...my first plate of wings was cold as if they had been sitting for a while under a heat lamp...l was told they were fresh cooked....l ordered some more fresh cooked with no sauce they had steam coming out of them because they were freshly cooked
A nice variety of shops and restaurants under one roof. I visited the Xfinity store. Excellent staff, covid compliant store.
It was noisy had someone playing loud music. It was busy had a hockey game
It's gallery place and it has a lot of convenient shops
Near metro and bus lines
Coffee, ice cream, fine dining, movies, you name it
Something for everyone and the Verizon center is right there if you're going to see a sports event
Gallery Place in China Town it's ok there's a lot of restaurants to get lunch and dinner at this place gets crowded and loud if you like crowdes this is where you want to be if you been to New York Citys down town this place is packed it's like that when you come here you have to watch your back there are a clump of hoodlums standing around trying to snatch your purse and wallet so keep a close eye on them when you go down there the metro station is close were they can run with your wallet or 👛 purse so be careful.
i only visit here for the McDonalds and that's just barely okay.
outside of the mall, there's always some type of foolishness going on.
the inside of the mall itself is actually quite clean and nice so it has that going for it.
Other than a CVS, not much here in my opinion. Food court was nice. Still mostly closed from covid, C'mon man!
Please believe this place is great for sight seeing and enjoying different and vibrant scenery. Beautiful like a miniature Chinatown in Washington, DC. Where you can enjoy the lights, cameras, and action. Blessings. MagSmilingBlessed
Went to regal. Had fun. Saw minions
I like the fibe of China Town, there's lots of good places to eat and shop. I have lived in DC all of my life. But I still enjoy walking around with the tourist.
A lot of restaurants to choose from and new hotels to stay at. There are activities like the Capital One Arena formerly known as the Verizon Center that you can go see sports events and shows upon availability and scheduling. Also museums and shopping is at your availability as well.
Gallery Place is very congested no place to park your car there are lots of restaurants near 7th and H St there's a Starbucks across right at the corner of 7th and H St NW you walk South on 7th Street there are lots of fine restaurants there are two very good restaurants as you walk South towards the Capital one arena just to your left is Clyde's Restaurant and just across the street to your right is the Legal Seafood restaurant just to name a few if you can find parking it's not bad
I live right here in Penn Quarter and I do frequent Gallery Place, with some trepidation. While the MPDC have made a clear and comprehensive improvement in their presence, they may not be able to help you with the kind of quick assaults that take place on these streets. You're really sort of on your own around Gallery Place. Common in the area are "push down" assults, ATM snatches, bike snatches, purse snatches, recividist drug addicted panhandling, violent rants with spitting at tourists and occasional shootings, typically between locals. Also, Theft by Deception scams on the platforms of the Red Line, typically involving change for cash. The Heroin camp on 9th has been since removed. That little prolific bicycle thief is doing time on unrelated charges. In spite of the investment in the area, it's still a
somewhat troubled place. Cautiously recommended.
Good variety of stores. You cant bring the shopping carts outside of the mall bc there is an electronic boot or smth like that so I dont recommend buying in bulk or buying many heavy things bc youre gonna have to carry it all.
We go to the Regal Gallery Place theaters frequently. Our latest movies viewed here were Dumbo, Captain Marvel, Pet Sematary, Avengers: Endgame and Tolkien. Sorry, I don't have any recent photos. They feature reclining seats and now serve alcoholic beverages.
First time watching a movie at this Regal. Clean theater, friendly staff. I will return.
Great place yet in recent years too many outside protesters with microphones spoiling the atmosphere.
With opportunities for dancing at Lucky Strike, ample street and covered parking, a beautiful China Town landscape and an abundance of restaurants - it's the perfect weekend adventure! A recurring favorite trip.
Comfortable seats, screen didn't work through most previews, odd. Pot smoke and cookie.smell on way in. I could do without the pot smell
A great place to be in DC, a lot of things to do. Awesome Chinese restaurants " Full Kee, Eat First, Tony Chen's " a short of the great ones. An art gallery which is very cool, a Walgreens, A Chinese Medicine shop awesome, Chipotle & McDonalds, Two white table clothe restaurants, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, Food Trucks which are very good and clean, a lot of activism take place here, AT&T store Comcast store, a couple of Banks. It's always busy 7 days a week! A cool place !
Dinner with my cousin Gwennie at Clyde 's seafood was delicious loved the atmosphere. very cozy
Coming out of the metro.. make a left and check out the awesome store..I'll post the name and pictures. Great food. Walk around. Super close to the capital and also the congress hotel which is amazing +!
Ecclectic Vibe....China Town is beautiful and welcoming. The sterotypes that sometimes present with Asians not friendly or distrusting of AA does not present here. The Asian Cuisine is welcoming, authentic and the establishments serve all. There are outside vendors that offer crystals and jehova......initiative 81 in full effect. Now do not get alarmed by alot of MPD presence there is a large youth and young adult crowd with the dreads BUT as the saying goes dont go looking 4 trouble.Ciggarrets are 13$ in DC so if u ever just need 1 or 2 there available(singles/looses)and you will NOT see another Eric Garner thing in China Town.People come from around the world 2 chinatown and the historical buildings and churches are there. Now we know in the City you will see rodents plus theres the subway on 7th st.Buses run pretty late and early. If your interested in donating to a great organization consider Patricia Hanley on 5th st.You will see sone motorized WC considering theres a large Senior Housing in the vicinity.
Saw A Quiet Place. Comfortable seats, expensive concessions, cool venue, no movie glitches, maybe don't pick the very front row.
Clean. Well marked signage. Enjoyable visit. Increased police presence above and below ground.
Such a cool place to see!
A must place to visit while you're in DC. Fun place to take the kids. There is a Ferris wheel, playground area, paddle boats and more! Plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Nice area busy but center of the city you have bus to go new York panera metro capital one cafe bed &beyond Starbucks Walgreen etc..
Very good ratings. Everyone was very friendly and Jasmine was knowledgeable and helpful. I will always go there in the future. She is the best.
As always I had a awesome time. Good food, good service, and fresh oysters time. Oysters are half price after 9pm or 10pm
This little plaza has plenty of interesting places and restaurants, I've mainly been just to the movies, the theaters are great and the staff are really kind except for the concessions
This is the quiessential tourist trap of Washington D.C I going to come out and say it. I am not saying it's a bad thing. The so called Chinatown is a shell of it's former self since Verizon Center Arena moved in. The mom and pops are mostly gone. Corporate America has given the illusion of making Chinatown bigger than it is by putting Chinese characters on the sign. The real Chinatown is actually two blocks tops. So come here for the tourist experience of D.C. but do go somewhere else. Do it at least once.
Shrimp and artichoke dip 2 die 4
This is the heart of the shopping district and outdoor entertainment for the D.C. Chinatown scene. Restaurants and shops usually offer great deals and its quite easy to spot the good restaurants by the waiting lines outside.
Great service but food was just so-so. Warm but not hot and the $15 orange chicken had no orange flavor. All 3 of our party agreed.
We live here and walk to the movies at Gallery Place all the time. It's great!
It is very strategic place in downtown Washington DC. I watched movie 'The Circle' at Regal cinema. The cinema itself is good but for some reason the movie that I watched was poor quality. Not sure because of the equipment or the way they produce the movie.
Always a lot going on. I'm a huge fan of the Regal Cinemas here. Very nice, clean, and it feels exclusive on the top floor looking down.
Fun places to visit in the Chinatown area. Lots of great restaurants and local herb shops. Enjoyable for tourists and local neighbors.
Great place Regal Cinemas and Clyde's both great places
Overall fun place to visit right in the middle of China Town. A lot of god Asian restaurants in the area and some nice bars around. A good place to find good sushi, Chinese food or Ramen. Izakaiya and daikaya are a couple good choices. A few good bars to visit are rocket bar, RFD's or the Irish pub right by the station.
It's about the location. Nice movie theater and next to hockey arena.
Clean safe comfortable
Lucky Strike bowling actually fit my fingers most lanes the holes are too small
Very nice place to hang out. It has Cinema, restaurants, and bars. I had Haagen Dazs ice cream there to cool off after a long hot day.
Never a dull moment in Gallery Place. From the food selections, movie theater, Capital One Arena, and the street side performances you can never be bored.
Great place for shopping, a meal and a movie. This is at the heart of chinatown and really is a lively area for young adults, especially since you are walking distance from the CapitalOne center!
Convenient to Metro and several bus routes. Several restaurants, from quick eats to sit down service, Portrait Gallery, MLK Library, movie theater, bowling alley and several shops. Steps away from Chinatown. And the convention center.
Gallery Place has several restaurants, stores, and a rather nice movie theater. It is located in China Town, so there are some nice photo opportunities in the area.
Nice area for tourists!
Truth? H and 7th St NW? Very few remnants of old Chinatown. Greatest variety of restaurants in downtown dc on your way to museums and some of Washington DC's oldest churches and synagogues. But...crazily crowded (tourists, panhandlers, sports fans, street musicians, loud soapbox proselytizers, teen hangout; and then movie/theatre/convention goers); autos, tour buses, plus folks traveling via Metro: Red, Yellow, Green; Bus: P6, X2, 80, 74/70s, 42, G8, Circulator (Georgetown/Union Stn), D6. To enjoy this mashup, please travel light, alert, and with a sense of humor. 👍👍👣
I LOVE this place!!! ❤️ Family Friendly, just be careful because of the people who stand around smoking weed and homeless other than that, this place is Awesome, Totally Amazing!!!!
Fun, lively part of town. Musicians busking, Chinatown, the Museum of American art & the portrait gallery are right there, too; and open till 7 pm.
Lucky Strike Bowling Alley and Bar Louie!
Good food and Great Drinks! Catch the Metro or park in the local-walkable parking garages.
Good movie place and shop
Banksy exhibits was very interesting
Went for a hockey game early to hang out and have dinner. Lots of homeless on the street, some guy cussing about the rats and roaches in all of the restaurants. I am not a city girl so not desensitized to what some may think is norm. I just felt depressed to be spending so much money for an evening out while so many were sleeping on the street.
Absolutely busy. Lots of food choices to meet your pocket. Have your wits about you it's a mixed bag of characters. Take no one for granted.
In this area of DC you can find various Chinese restaurants and other items. It is a neighborhood full of Asian culture and references. Do not hesitate to visit it.
A nice place to walk on a nice day. Lots of great places to eat and stuff to do.
A lot of great restaurant and bar spots to choose from ranging from dive bars to fancy feasts. Get down early before a Caps/Wizards game, or a concert and check it out.
This is a great place to visit so many different places to see and good food is everywhere here.
That is a great place to go shopping if is looking for something or want to eat
Great shopping center with a variety of shops and restaurants. Also has a metro station nearby for the ease of transportation. Overall a great place to visit in DC.
The food was amazing but the wait time was a bit long. The meal was worth the wait.
The crowd is always love here
Felt good 2 be back out @ movies
The area, while quiet, still has a great feel about it. Beautiful architecture and landscape lines.
Wow! So much fun and so many different things to do.
Had a combination of restaurants, night clubs, movie theater and other attractions. It's a good place to hangout with friends and family.
Everything you need from getting off of the train at this location, gives you access to basically everything you need. Perfect place if you want to go walk around for an adventure.
Nice place to watch a 4Dx movie. Cinema is clean and up to date.
No admissions fee.
Some of the western world's greatest art. DaVinci, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Titian, Raphael, Rubens, Monet, Mannet, Cezanne, Picasso, Mattsse...too many more to name. A priceless resource.
As you get further from the Verizon Center, Gallery Place reveals more and more interesting shops and restaurants. At its center, though - it's not more than a busy transportation hub.
1 block away is China Express. We love their stir fried fresh noodles with pork, or veggie. Next time I'm getting duck.
Nice movie theaters, glad they went to reserved seating. A little dirty sometimes, but good for a big chain theater.
I really love the Gallery Place area. There are so many fantastic restaurants and niche bars. I can try a new place here everyday!
My second favorite hangout spot, occasionally there's live music from just the locals and some decent stores in the area
Love the area. It can get a little sketchy at night, but generally a fun place to go. Lots of restaurants and shopping. The arch is amazing.
Movie theater is nice. Some theaters have recliners which is sweet! I think just for new movies though.
Very nice theater. Great seating. Attracts great crowd. Been going here since it opened. Great location. Metro right outside the theater.
Great movies, weird vibes outside, doesnt feel safe
Lots of nice restaurants and shopping but tends to be filled with teens and young adults.Great date outing. Bowling, bars and more.
Eat at Clyde's, it is worth it!
Washington DC is a special city... Everything is in walking distance from our hotel. The staff are exceptional... Been coming here for years... Almost like a second home!!!
Not much to choose from here, small downtown mall. I often go to the Regal movie theater on the top floor, and the Bed Bath & Beyond at the bottom.
It has a great view a lot of different people a lot of places to eat and hidden places that are really cozy once you discover them
Mini Time Square. Full of pedestrian traffic, vehicular traffic, bright lights, Verizon stadium, MatchBox, Dunkin Donuts, Legal Seafood, movie theater, spy museum, McCormack's, and much much more.
It also is a couple of blocks away from mega stores such as Macy's, H&M, Guess, Forever 21, and others.
Need money? There are numerous banks in the area: Bank of America, SunTrust, and TD Bank.
The scenery was lovely.
The Gallery Place okay if you like to be intimidated by homeless people it's alright place to visit you just have to be careful and watch your family and keep alert.
There's always something going on down gallery place and so much stuff to see and when every I get the chance to go it feels like im in whole new area and music and lights and so much food and bars to choose from and not mention lots of fashion stores
Great place, very historical and has a great menu. It's a busy location but big enough to get a table at any time.
All types of art and sculptures very educational. Best of all it's free to get in and that place is beautiful inside
I like the new store in gallery place-chinatown it looks very better than the other one the bathrooms are more cleaner and the staff on more friendlier
China Town is interesting but can be rough at night. Not much to do other than sporting events at Verizon center or restaurants.
We had lunch at Clyde's. There is easy access to the Capitol Arena and lots of places to eat.
Riding the metro made the trip to DC extremely easy. If you have any questions find a metro employee in a yellow shirt, they are all very helpful.
Fun part of town for visiting groups with lots of local and chain venues. Technically it is called Chinatown, though you would be hard pressed to find any authentic Chinese in the area.
Great indoor environment with many venues to choose from for entertainment and eating a little expensive but to be expected in the center of downtown easy access too much shopping right around it especially Bed Bath & Beyond
One of the nicest eating areas in DC. Also perfect for entertainment since the movies are here and the Verizon center concert/sport outlets.
Staff was great, food was quite good with the exception of the buffalo chicken wings. They were dry and tiny.
The shops and restaurants at gallery place are fun, but there's always some kind of police activity at the station.
The entrance to the shopping mall is not that great, it smells and not the most friendly neighborhood.
We love Gallery place chinatown from the movie theater, panera bread, matchbox, fuddruckers to the clothing stores towards metro center. If you travel in the other direction towards union station, you can stop into the H st. walmart too
Good 👍 …
Stop the littering people!
Love the ambiance of this place upon exiting the metro, however nobody can stop idiots who are okay with putting more litter, pollution and waste where it doesn’t belong.
Decent eating places like Clyde's, Fudruckers, McDonald's and Chipotle. An excellent National Portrait Gallery across the street from F and 7th
Over-priced restaurants, bars and movie theater, but a convenient location with one of the only theaters in the city with plenty of other food options in the neighborhood.
This place is clean and safe to gather together and enjoy a free day.lolugl
It's nice to have all of this shopping nearby, but I have to say I try to avoid Chinatown (which is mostly impossible). Overall, lots of great stuff though.
Great place right on the corner of multiple restaurants phone stores and a movie theater
Crowded at times, but has bowling, movie theater and several restaurants along with a few shops. Parking can be a pain in the garage
Midwayy crowded. Better than the subway.
It's improving. Lots of food around the area...lots of haggling too. Lots of beggars and cat callers (male and females). Convenient metro though.
How well Chinatown became an 👴 the late Mr. A. Pollan Past Owner Of The Washington Wizard (Bullets); HE Partner with the Chinese Community to bring in other small businesses owners and developers as well as our Mayor at the time Mr. Mayor Barry Washington D.C. Favorite Mayor of all times, The starting of Gallery Place, look at downtown today, "MORE TO COME IN THE FUTURE"
This place has everything. This is the place where u go if u want to eat, shop, go to a lounge or bar, and not be to far from your hotel room. There is a lil bit or everything to do there.
Fun area, lots to do, trendy restaurants, great place to eat before or after an event at the Capital One arena.
I took a visit to Clyde's for a friend's birthday the food and drinks were good but the menu was very limited
Gallery Place can be tough. Crowds, loud with musicians or yelling orators. Its.in the heart of Chinatown, and to me, appears to be a bit like NYC
Very cozy setting but lots of different options for entertainment .. Multiplex, bowling alley, variety of restaurants, etc.
There subway system being in the area an buses plus some stores an movie theatre have low cost items, etc
This is the place that helped turn around downtown DC from a ghost town after 5 to a vibrant destination. It has everything you need except for a grocery store.
Awesome place, great eateries, museum, cool place 2 watch a movie & bowl @ lucky strikes.
Nice but a little spooky, it was as if everything and everyone was missing, probably because of covid
I visited the movie in China town and it was comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean,I really enjoyed the movie also
This is one of the most vibrant places in DC. Chinese New year crossing was a fun thing to see. Must go here if you are in DC.
This area is full of stores resturants Regal Cinema,Luckly Strike Bowling it's expensive though some bars sell beer, liquor, food.
This place is hectic for sure. If you’re a tourist, just try to know your route ahead of time to avoid grumpy commuters.
Good place to walk around in day time. However, the consistent begging by the population there makes it not great.
Fabulous , some of DC city quality at its best! Shopping, Leisure and Street Entertainment..Dining as well..a melting pot of adventure!
You're Right There At The Verizon Center, Go And Catch A Game, Grab A Bite To Eat, Get Some Drinks, Go Shopping, Stuff For The Kids.....And All Metro Accessible.
Not much china in Chinatown anymore. The Arch is still there and probably the best thing to see in the area on a beauty and history level.
When I went to Gallery Place, everything looked and felt normal and all stores are operating.
Had a great time at Lucky Strike, was there for a silent disco. Will definitely go back.
My favourite part of the city, with its exotic Asian touch, the best restaurants around and live music near the metro station.
Awesome Views , Restaurants, Bars, Buildings, Art, Sculptures, & Atmosphere Etc.
They have great things there as well.and the ambiance is great.I found the beautiful pieces behind me there.
Small theaters, great seats, little pricey, but not too bad.
I’ve long loved this place- came here for the movies and had a really nice time!!
Decent selection of retailers, great selection at the Regal Cinema. Staff at the theater though seems to be untrained and completely oblivious.
Theres always love outside with street performing and the movie theater and Haagen-Dazs. My favorite highlights
This is the place to shop, eat, or watch a movie. I love it here in this place, just because it's a wonderful pleasure that I have to be at Gallery Place, and Chinatown.
So many great shops and restaurants in this location. I am glad that they added the X pedestrian cross walk to H and 7th St
The youth and the trendy crowd brings down the awesomeness of the area. Closest place with the best vegan options!
A Wonderful Collection of Culture & Versatility, Eating or Shopping 👍🏿 …
Its a cool area to hang out in. Places to get food... bars... its not a lot places to shop at.
Great place to shop and people watch. Lots of good people watching too. I would recommend visiting here.
There's a lot of people and places to go to have a good time. Shopping galore.
Close to museum and sports venue.
This use to be my hang out spots..
Great place to shop, near the arena, eateries, clothing stores, housing, condos, one with love this area of Washington DC September 2018
Too crowded and dirty at the same time. No parking. Don't leave anything in your car because it doesn't matter what time or day it is, someone will break into it.
Lively atmosphere, Great choice of Restaurants, walking distance to some museums and metro stop.
A lot of good restaurants nearby, the main hub for metro subway.
Hard to review because this is a collection of shops and restaurants. The surrounding area is bustling and the building itself is clean and modern.
Good food options, but that's it. No shopping, and lots of fringe people just hanging on the corners.
Lack of shopping variety makes this place lose 2 stars. Otherwise very clean and in a convenient location.
I enjoy all the stores and restaurants, just not a fan of all the teens and young adults that crowd the area.
Went to dinner and a movie and had a great time
I go through the subway stops quite often the only thing I dislike is the group of people who use the drug treatment center near they are all over the seats there at the gallery spot
I saw a Movie at the Regal Theater here! I enjoyed that and I would say I enjoyed the walk-through of this area!
Fun place to hang out with a wide range of shops, restaurants, and things to do inside and nearby.
Nice have alot of places to dine at also go see an movie with family friends
The movie theater here was great! Allot of food. Choices around also.
Cool place to visit the metro station is about a block or 2 from the capital one arena
Mostly (decent) chain restaurants and bars. Fine if you're seeing a movie or a game at the Verizon Center.
Conveniently located. They have a movie theater, a few eating places, few stores, and the arena. Security on premise. Nothing too spectacular.
Watched a movie here. The parking was a little confusing had to have help finding the rightblot. They do validate so make sure you go to the right garage.
Service is pleasant and multiple food options from seafood, steak, and my favorite crab dip with Pita bread
Had Hagen Das ice cream there and had a 2 scoop cone for $15. That's billshit!! Don't fall for it.
Its nice place to walk around and get a bite to eat!
Nice, beautiful , clean , movie threater attached to Capital One Arena, Bar Louie, Bed , Bath and beyond.
Haven't been in years. Impressed with the vibe. Went to kids' birthday party in Lucky Strike.
Food was prepared 😋 perfect, I will return. …
A lot of quaint shops, movie theatre with recliner seats, bowling alley and ice cream.... Perfect Pitch!
Not many people know about the Bed Bath and Beyond at its basement level. This BBB actually carries some daily supplies not found in many other BBBs.
I got off at Gallery Place and Chinatown to go down to the Metro so that I could get my ID made because they forgot to pick me up but everything went smooth lady took me anyway
This is a great location to shop dine and travel.
Went to relax and see a movie & enjoy a little bit of D.C.,on the 4th of July🎉🎆🎊🎇😊🎶 …
A little depressing. Lots of shops have closed during the pandemic.
Love the movie theater here. Parking is pricey but if you validate it's free.
The Best Cosmetics Shopping is The Look Boutique on the 2nd floor in The Walgreens Chinatown Gallery Place.
Nice places ie Walgreen and a lot of tourist attractions and restaurant food is fast but not good $$$
Movies, bowling restaurant and bars all in one place. Very convenient and a nice tourist spot
A hub of restaurants, sports, and Chinatown the movie theatre is enchanting, but the bars can be standoffish.
Expensive parking with shops, restaurants and a movies.
It is a nice place. You can enjoy Gallery Place with friends and family
Its really nice to get the kids out and also have fun yourself.
Well it is trying to come back. A Life Policeman wefe there so it is bettef
So much great different choice's of food and friendly people.
The cinema was great, bowling too, and the street life is... interesting!
Chinatown stop on the DC Metro. Browsed shops and had a great lunch at Chinatown Express.
Saw many people asking for money and when you would say don't carry any will shout out profanity.
A great movie theatre. Good picture and sound. Food is expensive though.
My ansolute Favorite movie theater. The neighboring shops make this a great hang out place.
Variety of stores to browse through. Live music tremendous. Good food
Fairly nice, but not if you need a restroom. No public ones.
Busy busy area. Alot of good eats in the area. Great happy hour spots for the latenight.
An shining example of what a city can do to renew a failing city center. Great restaurants shops and the Verizon center.
Love Gallery Place remind me of George town back in the days .
Good for walking. Some shopping but not much. Just good photo opportunities.
Always fun and tons of restaurants. Great people watching by the metro entrances on 7th.
Wonderful shopping right next to the WIZARDS ARENA
Interesting place, the metro stops right at the China town gates so its in the middle of the city. Its not the best place at night though.
Beautiful architecture half the shops were still closed.
Awesome place! A lot of shops and restaurants are in walking distance.
I went to movie threater and inside auditorium recliner is so neat and comfortable
Gallery Place, aka: Chinatown, is magical. It's so fun and there is always a thrill.
Great Place They have literally everything you wanna do in a City.
Awesome place to visit. Relaxing movie theater seating.
Scruffiest metro stop ever. Tiniest China Town. Couple of great restaurants though. Daikaya and China Express.
Love the selection
I haven't be here in a while but they have lots of nice store here best to get on the train
A good place for shopping however depending on the time of day it's crowded
Variety of restaurants , a movie theatre and other fun stuff all in the same place!
Busy but fun neighborhood to work in. Gets crazy during Caps games
Still there and easy to get in and out on the bus line and a great whole foods
I went to The Cherry Blossom Parade on the Metro and bought a great tee shirt and bag.
My daughter went bowling with the wizards she had a great time.
So many places to go to enjoy, to get there take metro to Gallery place Chinatown station and explore.
This place never sleeps, rich in restaurants, bars, and happy hours. Enjoy yourself!
Nice place for a stop on a tour....lots of restaurants and shopping to be done.
Good place to find a variety of different foods and meet new people.
Great place shopping or for eatery. Plenty of parking bit have to pay
The Thai restaurant is great. Didn't explore too much further, but was OK.
Great 4D experience. I could have been more pleased at a film.
Good shopping and eating
Aka China town. Amazing place. Specially if you're a shopper!!!! 😉 @the gym chat later😘😘 …
Bumbs a plenty. But very multicultural. "Iv been hangin' around this town on a corner..."
I sometimes go to Regal theaters, shop at Wegmans store.
Just stay away from mcdonalds right there, other than that great area for an outing.
There's a cool vibe down there. There was a street preformer when I was there and she was incredible! Fun area.
Awesome, beautiful & Very high couture stores..
chinatown express is best restauraun here hands down
-camerom
It's DC. What you want is hiding in the plain view of locals. What's left of us.
Everything in DC is great specially all the eye candy you see.
A bustling area with many entertainment options. I visit it every time I'm in Washington.
Most convenient movie theater downtown
Question is it connected to the Capital Arena?
Good food choices. Fast and easy. Crowrd at lunch time.
Very expensive and need more shopping stores
Great location with lots of food shops. Can get very crowded.
Cool place to grab a quick bit & a cocktail for lunch or dinner...
A lot of restaurants are going away. I guess this is due to the new Sports Book that is coming, to the Capital One Arena.
