Reviews of South County Center
It's a nice mall but there's so many stores shut down now I used to go to like J. C. Penny's. It's quiet and slow in the morning, and busy plus loud in the afternoon/evening. There's some good restaurants and shoe stores here. Plenty of parking all around with a bus stop.
One of the last great malls of the St Louis region, these days the South County Center shopping mall feels more like an ancient market than a modern consumer experience. To those yearning for a nostalgic tour of the late 90s this is your ideal destination. There are a few empty partitions but they do not detract from the experience. Some areas have been walked off entirely and may turn some toward dismay, however there remains a glint of hope in the message to the people that these areas are only temporarily closed.
Mall isn’t too big and the indoor playground there is perfect for young kids. Bathrooms could use some repairs / updates. The food court is very good as well and the food is reasonably priced
Honestly, it's a pretty decent mall to go to. I feel like there's a lot of variety in the shops, but I hate when me or others are just walking and one of the little kiosk vendors decides it's okay to touch me to get me to stop walking and talk with them. Some of them will literally harass you, and like follow you a certain distance in an attempt to get a sale.
Other than that, great mall with a lot to do, and there's so much to do OUTSIDE the mall as well.
Parking has never been an issue for me, either. Not to say the mall is empty, but there are parts of the mall that could use more shops. Bit of vacancies, here.
The mall is nice but there is some vacancies and the upper Sears wing is blocked off.
Mall was busy with holiday shoppers. Not jammed where you can't find parking. But busy to make a festive atmosphere.
It's so sad to what has happened to " Malls" ! I worked at South County when they remodeled the Mall in the early 2000s! The old mall was so ugly and dark! When they redid the mall and added the new wing , and put a Sears in too, it was so beautiful! And busy! But now, people don't want to go to indoor malls! I guess the internet killed them! Now everyone is in such a hurry 🙄!
Classic SoCo destination. Great meeting place, Joe's Records is amazing for metal band t-shirts and vinyl. And V-Stock always has something retro classic game/movie.
It feels like the owners are trying to kill this mall. It needs a new anchor to fill the former Sears. I wish a big store like Scheels could open up here.
This place is amazing. Upstairs only has a few stores that are open. Downstairs though is great. There are a good variety of stores. V-stock had a large variety of movies, video games, comics, action figures, books, and posters. Hot Topic was awesome as was Slackers. Spent about 3 or 4 hours here total. Joe's records had a large amount of cds, records, tshirts, posters, and other collectibles. Lots of food options nearby as well.
I went to the mall yesterday. Looking for nothing in particular but just to shop. During and after Covid some stores in the mall didn’t survive unfortunately. This mall along with West County is my favorite and it was breaking my heart to see the spaces empty. To my surprise yesterday I noticed at least 2-3 stores opening soon. Upstairs, close to Buckle, there will be a new store called Lotus (if I read the sign correctly) and another one downstairs close to V Stock (forgot what the sign said). I am really happy to see the signs and more happy to see a real decent amount of people inside the mall. There were so many kids playing on the playground and many people in the food court. I wish they would bring back the Starbucks. Before Covid that place was always so busy. Also a big shoutout to the cleaning crew at the food court. They really kept the food court clean yesterday.
Well what can I say, it's a mall. Seems to give me the vibe that it's not going to last the next couple years. Too many stores that nobody really goes to anymore that relied on the novelty of the mall but didn't produce good product at good price.
Nice stores and very clean, but some stores don't open until noon on MWF. Kind of annoyed. At least it's kept shiny clean.
I went there for a restaurant that was inside but a few years since I've been in there it's changed a little bit they're still clean glamorous
They hv a cool variety but not enough employees...The Charley's was closed so they only had rice...and pickles ijs St.Louis needs more healthy options for the kids
Love the shops, and food places. Malls are becoming a thing of the past, but this one is still going strong.
Went to JcPenny Looking for my son a belt. Found a belt. Check out line had quite a few people standing in it but lines moved quickly.
Still a great place to mall walk on a cold, windy day!
Love shopping here with my granddaughter. Lots of great stores and great food court.
It used to be a great mall but this last visit I was quite disappointed, there are many empty areas so it’s a little creepy …the stores that are left are not that great anymore. It is outdated, the outside is very dirty looking. I didn’t really like it.
This mall it used to great back then but now its not as good as before. But this mall has been on decline since covid hits many malls have closed since covid this one survives. I have been in this mall since 2013 it was great back then when I see sears gone it makes me sad it was great but lots of things has changed especially some of the stores even the top floor especially!
Went to the Mall to pick up a order. Found the door locked, not a main door, I didn't realize it closes at 8 now. but being 7:30 well I got in but it was like it was already closed..
Always our fav mall to visit. Great selection of stores, clean and safe. Needs a few flooring repairs these days though.
Used to love coming to the mall. But a lot of shops are closed now . Makes me sad.
I loved everything in this store & the ladies working were amazing!! I will definitely be back to buy more pieces in the future.
They have a little bit of everything you need there they even have some different little restaurants in the food court that are really good
This was my home mall growing up so I have a ton of fond memories. Unfortunately, like most malls, SoCo mall has seen better days. Lots of empty store fronts and some weird mom and pop places that make it seem even more rundown. There were four anchor stores here until the Sears closed.
At a minimum, you won't have to deal with crowds. Food court has always been weak...
The children are forever asking to go here it's nice and clean. We love to go during the beginning of the week when it's empty because on the weekends it's crazy with children everywhere
Not too crowded at 12:30 on Sun. Went to Yankee Candle and got what I wanted with excellent service!
The mall is always fun to go to its just like I remembered it to be when I was a kid.
Great place to shop and stop and have a quick meal. Bright cheerful atmosphere!
Have a great time here with my friends. Good selection of food at the food court, but I usually end up eating at the Noodles there. Sucks that alot of stores have been closing down, like the Gamestop that used to be there, but there's another one really close by so its not that big of a deal.
Great place but the costumer service is not so great during busy or getting close to closing time.
I'm not a mall person but I love Starbucks. V-Stock is nice and my wife and I like Yankee Candles and Bath & Body Works. It's a lot different from when I was a kid back in the early 80's.
I enjoy shopping at JCPenneys& Macys! I bought this beautiful purple dress at Macys & the person who checked me out was very nice!
Very frumpy mall. They allow aggressive kiosk salesperson(s) to harass you about your internet service provider. Can't even enjoy a peaceful walk throughout this place. 😒 …
South County mall is always a great place to shop that's half the fun is going into all the unique shops and seeing what they have to offer
The mall sure is not what is used to be as a kid ...I miss the arcade room and also the movies at Crestwood mall
This used to be a pretty busy mall with a lot of stores. It's still pretty busy but there are quite a few empty storefronts now. Even then, it's a good place to peruse and get something to eat. (Chaos Emporium is one of my favorite stores and they just moved into a bigger store.)
Mall is dead. Hopefully they renovate the mall or something with useful stores that will attract more customers.
Being understaffed doesn't help. The bathroom cleanliness is great not excellent. The tables and areas for clean is taken care of nicely at the food court. The music is what is keeping this mall together during holidays. The business stalls don't seem to be energetic and slightly draining when walking past. The store is lively. Don't see a lot of security presence. But is very family friendly off of the highway.
Needs to have anchor stores cleaned and remodeled. The outside could use a facelift. The mall was opened in 1963. While it has been updated it has been over 10 years.
Food court is nice. Good food, but the noise level is a bit overwhelming .
Much better than West County. Not as busy and always find great deals
Still S C mall less a few stores . Always liked this mall .
MY FAVORITE PLACE TO SHOP FOR CLOTHES . N I CE . ESPEVIALLY THE STORE IN SPRINGFIELD MO . LOVELY .
It feeds my childhood nostalgia for malls. HotTopic, Spencer's, V-Stock, and Earthbound are eye candy and I almost always find something I love. The little estates sale store is also always interesting
This mall seems to be losing so many stores. It's not really worth the trip anymore due to the small selection.
I go here quite often, almost 5 times a year. And I do love it here but one time I was in hot topic and my wallet got stolen. With almost 300 dollars in it plus my I'd. I never got it back. They could have checked the cameras but REFUSED TO! And I cannot BELIEVE what a store worker said to me in spensers. HE said and I quote "well it is south county mall,
you won't get it back" I was so bummed.
We always have fun walking around here. It's always clean and has tons of cool stores.
Too bad people don't actually go out to shop as much anymore.
Lots of stores here, and it has a carnival that comes around every summer. Thats always fun to attend if youre a local or visiting.
Only went to Dillards and they still have a good selection of clothing items. There was however an odor of a musty/moisture laden environment in the air so be prepared for that.
Bit ran down since the last time I've been, still got my favorite stores though!
I love hitting up the music stores in there!
My fav mall since Crestwood is gone especially. Love the food court! Lots of good stores. Wanna go again asap
Very nice and friendly employees.
Nice & large shopping mall with great variety of stores, awesome selection in the food court, large unique kids play area, very clean & well kept with professional & visible security detail. Feel safe here unlike some other malls in the area. Nice selection of full service restaurants & while some malls are dying this one has several new stores recently opened or opening soon. Highly recommended!!!!
Nice place to shop around, but all prices are jacked up even for a mall. Many places inside have also closed up shop and moved out...
The mall itself could use a better variety in the food court, because not everyone eat Japanese/Asian food. Most of their stores are closing the have a whole top floor that is almost vacant.
Pretty nice little mall. I enjoyed myself
I love that the mall has came back to life post covid
I don't really believe the shops are any better or the employees go above and beyond any more than any other place however I can always rely on them to be open another hour past any store I want to go so I always end up here and I'm happy they can save me!
I hate that all the malls are lacking in stores now, such a shame this was always my favorite mall 🥺 …
Went with my daughter-in-law to pick out some clothes. They don't seem to have many employees there. However, it was an hour before closing. They really need to keep the clothes picked up off the floor though. This is been a problem I'm more than one visit to JCPenney's.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and lots of shoppers out
JCP is one of the last great department store left at this mall, besides Macy's and Dillard's.
Always have sales going on everyday.
I like South County mall, just enough stores and things to see without it being a MEGA MALL that takes hours to get through. But you could spend hours there.
Lots of shop to go to. Love JC Penney. For food court I go for Asian World. Love their cabbage broccoli.
I used to love going to this mall but like many others, it's seen better days.
Not a bad mall but it has been fading.
South County Center is a great mall with a good mix of indoor and outdoor shopping. There are plenty of the top national restaurants to be able to grab a bit to eat before or after you shop
Great finds. Just some of the foot traffic not so appealing.
Was my first time here! Was pleasantly surprised! It has a very mid-century retro feel to it! I adore this kind of architecture. You just don’t see a mall as aesthetically pleasing anymore like this. You can tell it’s struggling a bit but what mall isn’t nowadays. It still has great stores and people. With this mall though I ESPECIALLY loved the Macy’s! Straight out of the 50s-60s era I bet! I’m guessing it used to be a Famous Barr from the looks of it!
Been going here for so many years. Sad that it once used to be a thriving place, but now it's just so dead. I don't know what happened! Half of the stories are closed, but I understand why. Miss you south county.
This place is going downhill. Lots of empty kiosks and I wouldn't be surprised if JC Penney or Dillards or another major store closed in the next couple years.
There's a carnival at south county mall in st louis, mo this weekend!
Busy but stopped by a stand in the middle of the mall and she was friendly and kind fair prices and I love my new things. Other stores are high priced you need a large income to afford items here.
One of the best malls around.
Some stores are going down not clean and organized
This mall goes back before I was born. When I was a kid and I mind you I'm 35 now. I can remember going there to see Santa. In my teens it became a place to hang out. Now that im grown this place still appeals to me for probably the same reasons as most.
Very warm in the mall wed not sure if air conditioner is working
I like this mall a little but definitely not my mall home I lost my car in one of the parking garages because they have 6 don’t be me...remember where you park
I like the stores that are here. I wish there were more.
Decent mall, not like it used to be tho. Lists of closed stores. You can tell the "mall era" is over😢. But overall it's clean, organized and easy to shop! …
Its a good place to check out. It's very clean and the stores that I did go to, had what I was looking for and the staff was awesome.
Good location near places to eat.
Choose your own style and rock it
It's been àwhile since I've been to a mall but this was a nice trip . Not to overwhelming. Got my deals
Went strictly to Dilards Estee Lauder counter. Simone is the best. I always buy my make up from her. She gives undivided attention!
Has some good stores still. Few big ones have closed. Hope it's not the end of another mall.
Wasnt what I thought it would be for my 1st time there. Had 2 stores that were there that I definitely want to revisit. But just a basic mall
Auntie Anne pretzels bits r the best
Many stores closed and overall looked to be run down in parts
Went to Vstop and got more movies for my collection. It is really a great place for books games all sorts of great things for all ages.
The Mall was absolutely beautiful 😍 we visited the food court and walked through with my kids. Super fun! …
Store selection is getting better.
Very clean .nice workers not crowded awesome stuff
Love JCPenny no store like it will going back soon Customer Service was good
I don't get to go to any malls often but I love this mall. Has all the stores I enjoy visiting and more.
Food is good and stores are great workers are so happy to greet you and help you
I like to go there its slowly losing stores which is sad, itll be the last time for v stock for a while the gentlemen that attended to us was rude thanks Will. Auntie ann is awesome place thanks
Always decent... nice atmosphere.
Great place to find a lil something. Still has great variety of shops here.
Glad to see malls still open and around had decent traffic and selection of stores
Fun car show
You can never go wrong going to the mall, and the in place has everything one needs
Love this place. Always go when I can
Good stores but like most malls it is slowly dying.
Everyone was very nice. There are getting to be some nice stores coming back in so maybe check it out again.
Lady at the eyebrow shop was on the phone so she told me come back in 10 mins yeah ok i didnt have that time so you missed out 9n money and a tip boo boo
Losing a lot of good stores, but still a place to go for food and shopping.
Sad this mall is getting run down and hardly no stores left in it looks like jcpennys got a little face lift
Love this mall. Super quiet, everyone had on face masks. Items reasonable as well. Shopping made easy.
One of the first times in a mall in awhile. Some neat individual stores but the anchor stores were a little underwhelming.
Absolutely love this Mall. You can pretty much find everything you need here in Moore and the food is good
Well the last time we were here because we needed a oil change for our car, the mall doesn't seem lively like it was last year. And that's only like 3-5 months ago. Most stores upstairs are closed I believe and it just seem so...dead. Maybe it was the time we went and the day, but again there were a lot of stores that are not there anymore. The place is still a good place, but don't expect too much.
It is less busy then it was a year ago but that isn't the mall's fault.
It is clean for the most part. The best part is all the stores that I like are there. Otherwise I would have to drive about an hour away, so it is convenient.
Everything was clean and nice except the women's bathroom on the first floor when you walk in from the back parking lot.
South County Mall just like all the Molly's days they're closed shops
Honestly it was a lot better when i was younger. Seems like a lot of stores are closed now and the atmosphere when i went on a Friday around 5 which i would expect to have a lot of locals wondering was just kind of absent. Nothing wrong with the stores inside.
The mall is dying and it's sad
I liked west county better. Maybe it's the stores, maybe it's the people. Who knows
There are MANY STORES AND LOTS OF ARCADES IN SOUTH COUNTY CENTER LOTS OF THINGS TO DO WITH TH HE KIDS YOU CAN MAKE AN ENTIRE DAY IF IT.
Awsome place could add more stores but its lit
Alot of stores had closed up or moved. Its sad to walk around there and see it so empty. But I did discover a new store called earthbound or something like that and I loved it!!!
They still have just the right amount of things for a shopping adventure. I will continue to support my local mall and the jobs it secures!
Tempurature was a little warm inside as the temp outside was over 100°
A lot of stores were closed, things were also pretty pricey, even for a mall. It did feel way safer than other masks in the area though and no one got shot.
Like to go walking around the mall and it have some good stores in it
The stores are scarce and outdated. The products here are old and mostly last season. But if you take the time to look you can make some decent purchases.
I dont come here to often. I visited there today and it was about 50% vacant. Kinda reminded me of crestwood mall at the beginning stages of it closing down.
Parking sucks but that’s everywhere anymore. Definitely needs more signs with directions of which way the stores are. It was clean.
I found the most incredible new furniture store that is not really completely open yet. It's on the 2nd floor by Dillard's and where Sears use to be. It's called Wholesale Mattress and Furniture Outlet. They have their mattress and bedroom store open and they have the coolest stuff! Amish custom hand crafted solid real wood log bedroom sets, living room sets, Amish hand crafted mattresses, name brand mattresses, taxidermy, etc. And the prices are insanely low!
Soon they will be opening their 2 other stores right across the hall. One for living rooms and dining rooms and the other will be a kids store with kids furniture and over 35 bunk beds.
Oh, they also have beautiful rugs and really cheap!
This trip totally made my day.
I can't wait to go back when all 3 stores are moved in!
UPDATE- 5-14-21
I stopped in today and was very disappointed. All my favorite stores are gone now. Damned covid-19!
That awesome furniture store is being forced out next week! Apparently there is major damage to the roof on that end of the mall so they're closing off the upper level next week. So sad! Such a unique place to visit and buy quality furniture and mattresses. I'm sure they'll relocate close by.
Quirky older mall, not updated. I dislike malls but maybe because it has character, I actually liked this one. There is something about the internal layout that I like but I can't quite put my finger on it. That aside, it has the same complement of shops as every other Mall. Four stars for a mall is a pretty good rating from me.
I love going to the mall with friends. We always start in the food court so that we can try all of the free samples. Then we walk around to all of our favorite places while we think about what to eat. After we are done shopping we go back to the food court and eat and hang out together. It's always a fun time.
It has my favorite shops. Its a shame to see so many empty shops. But that from so many people shopping online now. Don't get me wrong I do it, but my son wants to experience the mall. I love this mall, it's always clean and safe feeling, but more people need to shop here to bring more buisness back to employ more local people.
I love going to the mall! However, this past holiday season seemed a bit depressing going into the mall. I guess it has been a while for me since I last stepped foot into a mall/store. 95% of my shopping was done online. Which, makes me part of the problem with why it was so depressing. As a kid the malls used go be crammed packed with people in every store. The only store that had more than 3 people in it was bath and body works. It is hard to buy something online that you need to smell first. Many areas were vacant and barred up. One whole section of the mall was completely shut down. The only thing that anyone seemed to care about was putting their kid on Santa's lap. Now that line was HUGE.
Great love going to mall with my daughters
It's really really sad to see a mall go downhill the way this one has. it doesn't seem that long ago that you walked in there and every one of the places that you could ever think of was there it was a full Mall had hundreds of people walking around laughing and talking and sharing stories interesting stores to go to amazing not anymore. what's really sad is the owners of the mall are not really trying to hold the place together either they're not keeping up with maintenance and it's kind of looking worn and tired.
I love the shopping experience at this mall. They need to make kids play ground bigger, so the kids doesn't get bored easily. At Jakarta they made curvy slide tube from the 8th floors that has been quite an attraction in the mall. I wish the can apply something like this in this mall. Come on American! We can do it !
I love the mall. So much better to see and feel what you are buying.
I've always loved the south county mall. Wish it got more business.
Ade great money on my used phone took it to Game Stop ✋️...Has the best prices for your used electronic games n phons
Great place to go walk around and see what you want to buy
Versatile place to reprocess or kill some time, also conveniently in the middle of all cultural settings to choose for ur mood that day.
The mall is generally clean and well maintained. They have a almost all of the shop slots filled and have a good selection of different types of stores and goods. The food court is okay when compared to the others in the STL area but overall I like going here and have never had a problem with people or the stores.
Not a bad place to shop, but there are many open slots for stores to open. Itd be nice to see more places open and make it a great mall
Even though some stores are gone,it still has alot of store's to choose from
Had a really good time with the grandkids. Food court needed more choices
Parking was ample. It depends on what store you want to go to. I prefer JCPenney. I do not prefer Dillard's or Macy's because they are completely unaffordable. Especially for this city person. But it is a good Mall. Excellent food court.
Very clean, busy, and well designed mall. It's a great place to hang out, eat good food, and shop. My only drawback is that, stores seem to be and in and out frequently, many items are overpriced, and there are minimal high fashion designer stores in here.
Love it they need to open and put new stores inside the whole mall
This is the closest mall to where I live so we go there a lot. Wish there were a couple more stores there so we didnt have to go all the way to west county. Theres an entire wing that is empty and store fronts that are going to waste.
Wish it has a couple more stores... love the items here
If you're going to a specific store, call for directions starting with at which major department store you your should park. No mall maps just a few directory stands. Three floors in places. Easy to get lost! If you're just planning on random shopping, remember where you parked and through which does you entered!! Enjoy 😀 …
I mean, there are still plenty of stores to shop in, but many are gone. It's still a happening sort of place, if you know what I mean
Good stores, I has a great time shopping with my family
Great mall! Clean and safe. Every store all in one location. Great for walking b4 or during store hours.
Nice enough. Better than many malls are doing these days.
Pretty mall...I've been going here for 45 years
Myself and family really enjoyed my experience went to quite a few shops bought a few items staff friendly very clean reasonable prices
Great place to shop prices are reasonable and food court is great lots to pick from
Mediocre at best. Limited selection at most stores. West county mall or Galleria has a much, much better selection and are both nicer malls.
It's not as good as it used to be. A lot of closed stores. Could use some unique, specialized stores.
Love LOVE love this mall! Lots of good memories here. I grew up going to this mall & even worked in it, at JC Penney's! I used to live across the way & always have a good time shopping there. The ladies know me by name @ Macy's! Even better now since its been renovated.
Love the sales when they have them. Still a little pricey at times. Love how you got all the stores in one location.
Have the stores I like to shop in Lane Bryant and JC Penney nut its very gloom and doom- not good to see so many boarded up stores it looks so deserted..Man I Pray God rebuild the economy and restore the People.
Nice place to shop. I saw a lot of people shopping and mall walking. I like the prices. I found two presents I needed
This place is very cool, kids love it, I would not let little kids play, the bigger boys are kinda rough.
Love the mall! I enjoy going with my friends.
Still holds up in individual stores. Attracts most people for a mall these days
Great mall, lots of tasty restaurants in food court, Excellent stores such as: V-stock, Men's Express, Starbucks, Slackers, Sushi, assortment of clothing and Shoe stores... Visually appealing. Always plenty of Parking and within a mile of just about every restaurant you can think of.
This is in reference to SoCo Burgers & More. This is hands down the best place in the food court. I've been here twice, and both times, the burgers were great. $6 for a burger, fries, and a drink isn't much to complain about. It was just the right amount of food for a meal. They also have a loyalty card if you're in on a regular basis.
Good bath & body & Claire's
Slowly dying away. Empty stores everywhere. Was more fun back in the day
Love ❤, Love ❤, Love ❤, Love ❤, Love ❤
Its one of the few malls that still have lots of stores!!!
We love the convenience of parking once and going to different stores and not having to go out into the elements until we are finished shopping. I dont understand why they are going away. You can NOT try on clothing or get your purchased item instantly in hand from the internet. This mall still has JcPenny's and hair salon, Torrid, Spencers, Hot topic, Boxed Lunch, The Children's place, Starbucks, Journeys, Claire's, Pink, Virtorias Secret's, Auntie Ann's, Dillard's and make-up counters, Bath & Body, Yankee Candle, Tux shop, Qdoba, Payless shoes, Panda Express, Champs, Earthbound, and so many more. Still a wonderful mall.
This mall is so-so. If I'm in the area and feel like shopping I stop by, but it's not a mall I seek out. I definitely prefer Galleria or West County. The way it's laid out is pretty different and could be confusing upon first visit. There are also other weird things about this mall - like having two Bath and Body's. One on the first floor and one on the second.
A lot of the stores didn't have a lot of inventory. We drove 2 hrs to get here. Next time we will just go to Cape West County Mall.
If you want to go for a good walk this place will get you going in circles with its lay out. Malls are a dying breed and you can feel it here.
Very nice place. Especially the whole sale furniture outlet.
The place is getting thin inside. A Few stores remain. Fun for somewhere to browse around.
Went here recently getting my ears pierced at Piercing Pagoda. They were very trans friendly. Helpful mall staff directed me to the store and even helped me find it. Nice place to walk and window shop.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Place hasn't changed much, and that's a good thing.
Very big. Like huge. Lots of stores from big name to small lots of variety. The jcpennys to the Macy's. The food court to the Dillards.
All brilliantly mapped out and displayed on big posters spaced appropriately throughout the mall. Good place for teens kids or adults. Even have stores specifically for the elderly. Great place to spend a couple hours.
Well kept mall with top of food court and plenty of places to blow money. Bathrooms are nice, enjoy just walking around. Kids play area upstairs is nice, strollers and what not available for rent. Ample parking etc etc.... it's a mall.
Very clean. Shopped Dillard's only. Great values Beautiful store. Not crowded. Felt very safe with Covid threat. Hand sanitizer every where. Definitely returning
Still a pretty decent mall. Just sad a few places are permanently gone now compared to 2-3 years ago.
It's really sad now. Most of the store fronts are now vacant or filled with local owned shops. It's sad to see what online shopping has done to our once great shopping centers.
Very nice mall, lots of good stores
Aww this place holds a special place in my heart we went there to window shop for an engagement ring he ended up buying me one then we went back and got the wedding band the staff is amazing I love this mall it has everything you want or need
My favorite mall... always a pleasure
One of my most liked malls or place to shop with many things to do many places to go for the entire family.
Honestly I have been here so much I can draw you a map blind folded. They have a huge variety of different stores. The food court has great options. They have a kids play area that is some what new and my daughter is obsessed with it. They are always working on the mall to improve it. It's clean and security guards are very well trained. I lost my phone a few years ago and they found it for me with in 10 minutes after I was running around freaking out for 20.
Great mall. Lots of great retail stores, very safe and great location
Brilliant mall, all the essential stores and doing a good job at keeping facilities clean and enforcing mask rules.
I just go there for dinner, great food at the Asian place, very friendly staff reasonably priced.
I always enjoy walking around the mall, but crowds have been decreasing. I love the fact this mail has a USPS office which makes it nice to drop off your mail and walk around the mall afterwards. The USPS doesn’t have the friendliest staff, but I do enjoy this mall a lot. Slackers, V-Stock, Box Lunch, & Gamestop are great pass time stores.
Every time I come in the mall it reminds me of 70's. It needs a make over.
A lot of good stores are gone & the only food in the food court are multiple chinese choices & a philly cheese steak spot. No burgers or pizza for my picky crew 😕 …
Enjoyed shopping in an almost bare mall with our youngest daughter
Great deals, not over-populated, pleasant experience. And i spent WISELY 🤗 …
Great location for Tesla Superchargers!
Like this place. They have Penny's store n Famous Footwear n other good stores.
The mall is so fun to be at especially on a Saturday love spending money at the mall cause duh it's the mall
Nice and clean. Took one star off for a lot of vacant stores and one for Slackers employee's. I walked in and greeted 4 or 5 standing at the front register talking and NOT ONE OF THEM ACKNOWLEDGED ME, wasn't another soul in the store. I did about face and walked out. That didn't happen in other stores I entered.
This is the closest mall to me. There are empty stores and there are places that are closed. 2 stores going out of business currently. Half of the food court is closed. It makes me wonder if there will be a south county mall in the next 2 years.
SoCo Mall had started to decline years ago then it got upgraded and added on. I hadn't been in awhile and saw a lot of stores closed or closing. I like that it's close to home and not too crowded. The play area in the food court is SO hot in the summer.
Liked it but noticed a lot of empty stores. Kinda sad
Great mall if you're not looking for something too big. Plenty if parking, but traffic getting out can be hard during Christmas time. JC Penney, Macy's, Dillard's, Sears, and Dick's Sporting Goods (outlot)
The mall was okay, a typical mall. But with everything going on it seems like a lot of stores are closing.
Love the south county mall. Only thing missing is an apple store
Pretty big restaurants shopping stores great
It's dwindling:(. Made for ample parking though! So many stores closing. But service was efficient and employees helpful. Bread co., Noodles, Cricket, Macy's and the nail salon were all a pleasure to shop due less customer volume but I'm afraid they may not be there much longer:(.
Everyone loves the soco mall
Plenty of parking. Wish it had more exits that you can go both ways from. Sometimes the exit onto Lindbergh is long during the Christmas season but with some patience you get out. Most of the time it's fine
Well if I had to describe this mall I'd say it's a mall. A mall is mall and this mall ain't no different. A mall shook up after all the malls I've had to type for this review.
But in all seriousness this place good. Sure it doesn't have as great a store as a place like West County, but it's alot closer personally and more convenient. Now this is coming from a person who doesn't love to call up there BFF and be like "Yo girlfriend let's get to the mall and buy us 10 pairs of shoes" So I may not be the most qualified judge in the matter, but all in all I'd say this mall stacks pretty tall.
We have bought two rings from Rogers and Holland and the staff were absolutely wonderful. They listen to what you have in mind and then help you find the rings that fit what you want. Example; I chose a ring with semi-precious stones as my engagement ring rather than a diamond. Because of the design, we had a problem finding a band to match. Juliette knew exactly which band would work for us. Another thing we love is that the staff recognized us any time we stopped to window shop before we were ready to purchase. Love this place and will definitely be back!
Nice and clean. Great shop selection.
The mall is slowly dying. But there is more in the S. Cnty Way plaza alive & well. I visited Great Clips & U. S. Bank last time through.
It's a mall.... it's too bad that some of the shops are closing up. I hope new ones come in.
Took my g-grand daughter to some of the shops she enjoyed
The kids clothes are cute and the kids toys are reasonably priced. I do not like the adult clothes that they offer. They also have a pretty good pet food, toy, and accessories section.
A lot of stores closed now... Kind of a dead zone.
Too many empty store fronts.
It's the only real O.G. mall left. I don't really care for malls or like going to them even if I got a pocket full of money but this one is not that bad. Has a lot of good stores and a lot of good merchandise to choose from. Plenty of variety. Five stars all the way.
Its a nice mall with many great stores, but it could do with a few more
Certain stores was not open by 11 am as posted on the website.
It was good but it would be nice if they added more stores. There are a ton of areas that they can put a store.
The mall is just like I remembered except some stores were gone but I figure it is due to COVID19.
I've always loved this mall since I was a little kid.
Mall is beating the odds and there are little or no vacancies. Place is clean and easy to maneuver. There are several anchor stores such as Sears, Macy's, JCP, and Dillards but for slightly higher-end stores you'll have to visit West County mall.
So far I am incredibly pleased. I have had a horrid time getting help with my eyes. I have some genetic issues and will never be 20/20. Lens Crafters not only have a fantastic selection but they also have some regular employees who are SUPER sweet and help you find frames that fit your face shape. No troubles with my insurance being accepted and they had competitive prices. Need to get contacts and other testing done soon as well. As long as Darci and the employee's are there, I will keep coming back.
Thanks so much guys!!
Clean, above average quality food court area. Friendly, but non aggressive, mall carnies who are respectful when "no thanks" is uttered. Wonderful kid friendly play area.
What a nightmare trying to get on to Lindbergh it can be! That hill exit/entrance should be eliminated. The mall itself is ok. Many empty storefronts, but hey, I guess since so many people are shopping online nowadays it makes sense. I like V-Stock quite a bit. Lots of books, music, movies and games.
Been shopping here since i was a kid
In- and-out of Dillard's quickly with my purchase. Very helpful staff at Dillard's
I found what I wanted and browsing wasn't bad either. No pouncing salesperson in any of the shops yet pleasant and ready to help when asked.
Helzberg was excellent experience! Excellent customer service. Very heplful.will definitely be back !
Still love to shop at JC Pennys!
Unfortunately this is one of the last good shopping malls around (thanks Amazon). Great selection of stores and usually a very clean, pleasant shopping experience. Plenty of entrances/exits to make for a quick in and out.
I love going to South County Center because JCPenney's has so much more to choose from they also have a Macy's a Dillard's and some pretty good eating spots even though they've lost a few I just always seem to find what I need there they have a lot of little extra shops that are definitely worth going into and shopping I hope they can keep up the good business there we are losing our malls so fast and I hate it I do not want to shop online I want to see what I'm getting and know that it fits me before I purchase it this online stuff is for the new generation not as older ones please do whatever you can to keep the small up and running LOVE IT 💖💖
Have to look hard to find what ya want. Alot of stores are gone
It was a blast from the past. I havent gone to a shopping mall in a long time .I enjoyed it a lot. It did seem to me that they have a good price difference than the other stores though. I went to Macys it was not a good choice.I was trying to buy a bottle of perfume.Little did I know that buying a bottle of Poison was going to be so difficult. You would figure Macys would have it but they did not.But then some lady that worked there kept trying to sell me something else and told me it was better. I was supposed to wait in line for something that I did not want. So I left.CVS had what I wanted for cheaper with no lines and most of all no pushy sales woman.
If they have what I am looking for, I go. Will continue to do that.
It's a mall, what more do I need to say
The food court is nothing special. It has its variety of vendors. Many of the stores inside no longer appeal to my personal taste, however there might be something for you. I never find myself wanting to go to the mall.
Inside the mall its old nothing been updated
I only go to Macy's and Penny's. Macy's employees are very friendly and helpful but there are not enough of them. It's sad when you have to search for an open register because they have such a small staff employed. I had to leave the items I wanted to purchase the last I was there because I could not find anyone to check me out after waiting 20 minutes.
There was a lot of store closed when we went. Kind of sad to see so many empty spaces.
Confusing layout & missing stores. Compared to other malls, this one is lacking a lot.
Best mall of them all.they really have deals there.
Great for shopping. Long lines and barely any tables for dining.
South County Center isn't as fancy as West County Mall, The Galleria, or Frontenac. Although it does have anchor stores like Macy's, and JC Penney's. The food court could use a little more variety but it does have Cinnabon and an Auntie Annie's. It has three levels and lots of parking and close to the highways. It's crowded with teens on the weekends but that doesn't make it hard to shop. There are two Bath and Body works, which is a plus when they have a big sale. The Express store has the same prices and sales as the one on the Premium Outlet Mall. The clothes are different though. The Buckle, Journey's, and Journey's kids are all on the same side which can be a little hard to find it you don't go up the escalator. It's a nice small mall to go to if you don't like shopping in big crowds.
This Mall has lost lots of its appearance and appeal. The stores that are opened are well kept and supplied.
I mostly come here when i'm bored. Occasionally i will come to shop at JC Penney when i have coupons. I for one am not a Mall person, i dont care for overpaying for the experience. The atmosphere isn't all that great compared to other malls in this city. This said, the stores i can appreciate are VStock, Bath and Body Works(scented germx that my wife loves so much), JC Penney, Aunt Annies, Gamestop, maybe a couple more.
A lot of stores closed up due to the pandemic. People still seem to be coming. No inside eating that I can see. The food court tables are gone. You can pick up food to go. Service is still courteous for the most part. Bus stops in front of mall. Major stores are still open. Still worth the trip.
We visited JCP's looked through the clearance sections for hours. Found some good bargains also purchased on sale Sketchers and flip flops from easy spirit. Gave a 4 because they need to have shopping carts more readily available.
Very nice experience, they have a store where everything is $8.00
As far as malls go this one has a few stores open still.
Met my sister there and she had my great nephew with her. Was a great visit. Its easier for her to meet us, then her drive to park hills.
Sad, foot court almost empty?
Decent place for quick shopping, not the biggest selection of stores lacks H&M which is a huge store people look for... But overall not too busy and you can be in and out a lot quicker than other malls like west county or galleria
Could use a little more variety of stores but all in all a safe clean place.
Helped a friend get some shopping done. Clean and appealing environment!
Support local mall...I grew up around this one. Still has good foundation stores, Macy's and JCPenney...food court and many other good stores.
Busy mall despite many closed store fronts. This visit I ate at the food court, ordering Thai chicken from Asian World. Always delicious, large servings of rice and chicken as well as a piece of crab Rangoon. Topped it off with an icy cold Coke. Diverse choice of other fast food counters in the food court as well.
For a mall, it's good but who really likes malls anymore
Still has that old school shopping mall experience. Great slection of stores and places to eat. It can get crowded due to the lack of shopping malls in the area, but don't get discouraged it's worth looking for a parking spot on a busy Saturday.
Everything is closing and it has gone down hill
Don't go much since a lot of places have closed
The mall is slowly dying but it's still a nice place to shop and eat still.
Its a cool mall. A lot of teens. The play area wasnt as clean as I'd like it to be for my children during my last visit. My children love the Chuck E Cheese over there too.
This is an older mall but it is well maintained and a great place to visit.
South county center is very nice and clean. They have many stores to choose from.
One of the last mall's not for the rich. I love it but they need to make a few changes. VSTOCK was the smartestI've they've made in YEARS. Although it's restroom needs gutted. Could get rid of at least half the kiosk. Arcade away from main stores for teens and get rid of all the freaking sugar high junk. A food court should have at least one REAL burger maker. A food court is to keep us out if restaurants with loud teens. Mall's are supposed to be beginner jobs for16-17yr Olds yet over 90% of the stores won't hire under 18. Any wonder why you all keep going under?? Profit is base on loyal generations shopping with family, then remembering who gave them their first cool job, and add the impulse buying of teens friends when they come in the store to say "Hi". Revamp people
So many stores are gone very sad
This is a very working mall still clean and enjoyable
Too many places empty and even the food court was half empty of restaurants 😔 …
Iv always liked this mall. One thing that they could do to improve the mall a little more is to creat a better play area for the littler toddlers where the parents dont have to worry so much about the bigger kids running over their toddlers.
Each store was so organized and the sale associates were excellent. There's limited seating in the food but my experience was a 10.
Love this mall. It's not overrun with kids. Now the food court has a play area there so it can get a little loud. Food court needs a larger variety of food.
It's a good mall, I hope it sticks around
I don't go alot to the Mall. But they seem to have what I need when I need it. I seen all people whering mask and curtious help as needed. I always say a prayer for all who enter and leave. Please stay safe people !!!!
It seemed like we had to walk around the entire mall in order to find bathrooms. Kept following the signs for restrooms but it took forever to get to them. Seemed like they wanted you to walk through the whole mall before finding them. Limited selection in food court and parking can be tough depending on when you come to shop.
Very large mall. Plenty to buy. Nice staff
This is my old stomping grounds in South County. I have never visited a nicer mall since then!
Really nice shops, plenty of parking, security keeps an eye on everything, an clean
Unlike some other malls in the area, there is no covered parking. In St. Louis with such unpredictable weather, it would be helpful to have somewhere to park away from the elements. Overall, I would say this mall is okay, but there's nothing particularly special.
I spent many a day skipping school and hanging out here. To bad most malls are dead or dying.
Ate at sakaru Japan and it was awesome as it always is! Hoping to see more people shopping here instead of online. Lots of jobs gone and stores closed. Come on folks let's see the big picture here shall we?
Not a bad mall, could use some new food places and new stores- the crowd can sometimes be a little shady but usually they're alright. The worst thing about this mall is the fact that the kids play place is in the middle of the food court.
There are a few empty stores & concessions, e.g., Starbucks & Cinnabon. However, it is still a good shopping location with moderate crowds on the Saturday we went.
Love it. Great, personable shopping experience.
It's not as dead as some of the malls I've visited in the last couple years, but it's getting sad. Lots of empty storefronts. Lots of weird stores that feel like flea market shops or warehouse liquidators. Just a bit strange. It looks like, at times, the mall folks are just letting anyone open any kind of shop, so long as they're occupying a unit. There's plenty of stores here, though, so that helps you have a bit better luck at finding what you need.
Great place to buy quality gym equipment
SoCo mall has definitely changed since I was a teen! Only meh thing is all of the kiosks selling basically junk. Wish Victoria's Secret had a stand alone store away from the mall though. 😎 …
Great place to walk but there are 20 empty stores and what they are putting in there as far as furniture looks like junk.
Got my hair done by Kim at the JCPENNY Salon and I love it. Dinner at the food court was excellent. Having a play ground in the middle of the food court is disturbing to dinner conversation though. I could have done without the screaming children.
Main reason was to get Starbucks and do a little shopping. Disappointed no Starbucks
I was there looking for a suit Macy's had nothing in my size Men's Wearhouse was outrageously price for a suit but they are very good service but found this place called suit for men. Excellent service in very fast turnaround had my suit ready the next day tailored perfectly to fit me, when Men's Wearhouse warned me that it will be at rush charge
Not too busy, great deals in many stores. Friendly people, good parking
Unfortunately, the mall seems to be losing stores as well as restaurants in the food court. It's still got a few good places (as of this review) such as Slackers CDs & Games and V-Stock, but if you're not into retro entertainment, that might not mean much to you. It's worth checking out now because it might not be here in a few years.
I don't think this mall will be able to survive eventually. But they have a nice J.C. Penny.
Parking sucks...Bath and Body Works is only store I shop here
Mall is much better than it was 20 years ago. 20 yrs ago went half dozen times never impressed, I will return to South County Mall it is very nice and All stores I shop in.
Not a bad shopping mall not as nice as,West County or as big but you can find a lot here.
So sad all the store's are closed.
Hope they don't shut down
I was really sad to see how deserted the mall looked. With a large number of stores within the mall closing and a significant amount of elderly people working out, it looks like the South County Center is on a rapid decline and because this mall was a large part of my childhood, it's sad to see it like it is.
Big mall plenty of places to shop
Always fun going on a mall trip
A lot of empty store fronts, but still a great place to shop.
Needs a little updating. Sprawling with tons of parking.Big anchors JC Penny and Sears, but Sears is leaving. Lots of stores with anything you want. Not Neiman Marcus. Middle class. But could be upscale with imagination. Outstanding location. Near I-55 and I-255.At major intersection of Lindbergh and Lemay Ferry roads. Tons of restaurants/ fast food.
I love the mall. I wish the malls would make a comeback.
Even in the face of becoming obsolete like all malls this one still seems to do alright. The parking lot if laid out really weird but the mall itself has tons of stores. I like it better than the West County Mall.
Good variety of store, from clothes to soaps. V- stock is my favorite place to find all kinds of cool stuff. The food court is also really cool.
Nice mall was impressed
Not many people here on a SATURDAY. i guess malls really are dying
Nice place with good selection of stores
Most places are just abandoned within the mall. I hate the fact there’s not a lot of food options!
The location is good and right of the highway. Easy to find and parking is plentiful.
Some great stores have closed and moved out of this mall though, so check before looking for a specific place.
This mall is kind of dead but on Saturdays and Sundays it's always packed and have good deals.
Convenient location, plenty of parking including several handicap spaces on each lot. There are roving private security and County Police patrolling. Wide variety of local and chain retailers on three levels.
Clean and great! Love it in November when the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Troops have a Fall Sales Booth in November selling Nuts & Chocolate. Love it when Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri are there in late February & March selling Girl Scout Cookies and donated boxes to the USO of Missouri
I have a great experience with the most qualified staff I recommended to all shoppers.... Thank You
Mall with Macy's, Sears, Dillard's and JC Penney as the anchor stores. Had a good amount of shoppers. All the smaller store slots have tenants, a sign of a health mall.
Best people wow it was so amazing how they treat their costumers
Nice to see this place still so alive in the days when superstores and Amazon have killed so many malls. I've come here since I was a kid, and still love coming here. Lots of great stores to choose from.
A lot of decent stores and easy to park. The crowd wasn't bad either.
Bought from Zales. The people are always friendly and help you find just what you're looking for. I love Zales! Hopefully they stay around. Who buys jewelry online??? You really can't get a feel for what you will get, as with most online buying experiences. It's like surprise...wow! or... Is this really what I ordered??? Go to Zales and skip online, it's worth the trip. Online did the ring I have no justice at all!! It is beautiful in person :) :) :)
Great mail with all the stores you need to complete any shopping trip!
It was ok. I went to the video store. The staff was as rude as can be. It hurt them to help you which was no help at all.
Pretty light today and my favorite shoe store is gone 😖 …
I never see my purchases anywhere else when i shop here
Macys backstage...solid
Love coming to Soco mall for all the shops, also if your a gamer or need some fun hangout time with friends come give this mall a try they have plenty to do and see.
Quite empty because of covid I guess, but a shoe cleaner salesman tricked my 13 &15 year old into buying shoe cleaner for $85 and wouldnt refund their $ because they weren't accompanied by am adult. Took advantage of some children.🤦🏾♂️ …
Always a fun time even if just eindow shopping
Okay but don't have any three xl band shirts at affordable prices
Old and ugly. Very busy though, no closed stores. Parking is horrible.
Store selection is decent. Food court could use more variety. Plenty of parking.
