There are so many stores to visit in the mall as well as things to experience. One of the highlights is to ride these animal "car" things around. You can purchase a time slot this the animals by the kids play area close to the food court. There are several seating areas between stores where you can wait while others shop, and if you have your charger with you, they have areas where you can charge your phone while you wait. Lots of vending machines and kiosks to shop at as well if you enjoy those. We did go into the restrooms and, while they did have various types of paper on the floor, I can't fully blame the cleaning crew at the mall for that because people who use those restrooms also have an obligation to be responsible for themselves as well. We went during a week day so things were slow for us but the mall will usually be very busy over the weekend and evenings.

Nice mall. Stores I went in were all clean and pretty well updated. The mall had a nice layout and seemed pretty easy to see all the stores in an adequate amount of time.

Good mall. Nice variety of stores, decent food court. We normally go for the kids play area. Nice to have something indoor and free for kids. Also like that they have security there in case you need them.

It is a great mall for being in Sioux Falls. The food court has many options, there are lots of great brand name stores, and plenty of seating. My only complaint is how disgusting the bathrooms are. I think I’ll go to the bathroom anywhere else but here. The hand soap is usually out, there is always a smell, and in the women’s restroom many of the stall doors don’t work correctly. Fix the bathrooms and the mall would be perfect.

I've been to many malls and this one is very good. It's exciting to shop multiple stores. I've been going to the mall since I was a little kid. Back to school shopping and holiday shopping often brought me to the mall. They have a great food court too.

Really like that many of the stores give military discounts. Just look for the star in the window. Clean atmosphere and good variety of stores.

Came to Sioux Falls for a quick visit, stopped by The Empire Mall. We had fun with the arcade game- many were broken and some stole our coins. We brushed it off and moved on. Quite a few restaurants, some looked a bit dingy but most mediocre. A lot of little outlets to check out. Overall, not a bad experience!

There are a nice variety of stores enough to keep most people entertained and get their fix of retail therapy. Some of my favorite places here are hot topic, Spencer's , the coin store ...can't remember the name right now but it's tucked away ...there is a nice Asian massage parlor that does really great work for cheap. There is a nice kids play area near Sears.

One of the best Malls around. This mall is still holding quite nicely. Its really busy. You got a lot happening here. The food Court is awesome. The security guards are all friendly and attentive. This place is clean and doesnt seem run down like a lot of malls across this country. Enjoy this mall while you can folks. Parking is always available even when they are at there busiest times or seasons.

Looks like the mall is about 85% occupied. Much better than many enclosed malls these days. Food court is full of well-known shops. Stores are well-stocked and have available sales help. Public areas are clean and uncluttered. The parking lot is past its prime with lots of potholes.

I LOVE this mall. Even though it’s modern, it feels like an old school mall. The store selection is awesome too. It has all the great original American Mall shops and some unique ones too.The Taco Johns is really good and the Anthropologie is my favorite I’ve been to. My kids love hanging out here too, they love the Candy factory! Friendly, helpful people everywhere.

I don't really like malls very much. I was here helping my boy look for some clothing and I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything was maintained. So many malls seem to be run down these days, but this one looks very nice! Mall shopping is much easier when it doesn't look run down.

Edit: Mall is currently 100% unrestricted. Going to the mall during the pandemic, expect a little change from the norm. Do yourself a favor and wear a mask-- they aren't required for mall entry, but are required in almost every store within. Apart from capacity limitations, there are no other substantial changes.

The mall is pretty decent however I really loved this one business and when I went back to visit again a few months later and it was gone. That was a disappointment. The food court is probably my favorite part of the mall with some of the newer healthy foods alternatives.

I really like our Mall. I always run into friendly people that are workers and also just people walk in the mall. I also enjoy the variety in foods that we have we have Jackie's being added and Camille's Sidewalk Cafe. Hopefully the other places will be filled as well. I always loved eating at the mall :-)

I love shopping here because it has better selection than Rapid City. Last night I got a pedicure and today I went clothes shopping at Macy's. Lots of other stuff beckoned me but I resisted. I did fall for some earrings and leggings from Macy's. Everything on sale there.

Decent mall. Only mall in town. Has interesting stores. Also has mini golf throughout mall corridors. Food court is clean and brightly lit. Can find good deals on clothes if patient. Tons of parking and good restaurant choices. Has Culver's Red Robin Taco John's Chinese and more.

We were given a tour of the location by three head employees for our class field trip. It was a wonderful experience and we got to learn a lot about the mall operates, especially with leasing services and the property group that owns the mall.

The mall was okay. Food court was messy. The stores themselves were nice, not many hobby or "fun stuff" stores. Only store I wanted to go into was gamestop to but it didn't have much anyway. It is good for anyone looking to buy clothes or food, but not much else.

This was an excellent experience! We had the Buffalo wings, which were delicious, ribeye cooked to perfection and the brownie and creme Brule. My allergies were given special attention and the wine list was extensive. Our service was impeccable! I strongly encourage everyone to give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. This experience comes with a price tag, but it is worth every penny!

This place used to be pretty good, with several fun, interactive displays and a bright, clean walkways. But recently it has become very run down and dirty. I would not recommend coming here at all.

Very nice indoor mall. I visited Macys and J C Penney. Bought some linens at Macys but could not find the kitchen utensil we wanted at either place, but it is not a popular item. Half the mall is closed down from Covid and its aftermath.

Malls seem to be dying in many parts of the country, but Empire seems very much alive. Nice layout, lots of fun stores, and the food court is great. Clean and spacious and well lit with a nice variety of offerings.

Asked about a specific coffee maker at the specialty kitchen store. They don't carry that, but when I'm looking for a certain thing, not found at the big box stores, I go there. Found some great gifts there for a guy friend who does most of the cooking and baking in his household.

Stores were nice. People were staying safe by wearing masks and those who weren't were being asked to by security or could call. Felt safe and food court was was nice and asked cleaning crew to reclean my table not because it was dirty but so I gelt safe it was sanitized they gladly did. Thank you Empire mall!

I absolutely love the Empire Mall. There is always a store for you, and the setup this Christmas holiday is awesome. There are cars all over the walkway. 2020! However, you have to walk a certain way in each direction. Its recommended anyway. We don't, just because it's not that big of deal.

Best Mall for many Miles. Wonderful service in 98% of all stores. Best Shopping outlets around. My children love it. The food court could improve, but they do have good Asian food and Italian pizza place there along with a Subway. Both Pink and Victoria Secrets are wonderful, so is Bath and Body Works. The restrooms are kept clean, they have baby changing stations, and areas where small children can play safely. Its a wonderful place to be all year round.

This mall used to be great, there were stores for everyone. Nowadays, it’s clear that it’s dying. The major department stores are closing out and chain stores like GAP, Banana Republic, and Wilson’s Leather have all closed. I feel like the mall will be dead in the next few years.

I experienced the store Altered State and found very reasonable prices items and an incredible mission to do good in the community! I've never cared much for malls general. I know that they do serve a purpose and provide a lot of jobs for people. As far as Empire Mall goes, I really have no complaints. It has a good food cart, some major shopping outlets and I've had a great time in the bar there a time or two. It's to bad that Sears closed its doors. I guess Empire Mall ranks in at the top of Malls I've been to. No reason not to head on over there and check it out!

Many stores are gone. They have arrows on the floor showing which way the traffic flow is to help people from getting too close to each other. Great idea, but, many ignore it including two mall employees who were hauling tables and chairs.

This is a really a nice mall with modern architecture. The outer design is incredible, so catchy. The stuff available there are value for your every penny. Up-to-date with the current fashion trend to match up your lifestyle. It has space for everyone, from a kid to old people. Playing area and food courts are unique of its own. The most important is services to costumers and which well maintained by this mall.

This is the largest mall I have personally ever been too although I enjoyed my experience there is nothing really special about this mall. It has much more female orientated stores. Many of the layouts of the stores and stands caused the staff to be a lot more pushy on the merchandise. If you enjoy shopping for clothing this is a great place for it. Overall clean and we'll decorated mostly clothing stores.

The Empire Mall is making a comeback. They’ve remodeled the place, and the mall is almost completely filled with stores. It’s much nicer now than it was a few years ago! A suggestion I have is that they should work on making it more fun to go there by having unique food and sweets vendors and adding more fun things to do like having events there.

Everything is nice, but they should have more than 1 play area. There are WAY to many bigger kids in the 4 and under playground. It gets out of hand. I have a little girl who is almost 2 and we cant let her play in there because of the kids running and jumping all over the equipment. This is an issue.

I'm not sure what can really be said about a mall, other than its a mall. It has a lot of stores inside, it has a food court, it has a kids area. I can say that it is well maintained, and always clean every time I visited.I can say that traffic in the area can be a bit iffy during the weekend, but this is Sioux Falls. Depending on where you are it can be iffy anywhere. They have a decent number of entrances so you're not going to park miles and miles away which is nice. So, all this being said, it's a pretty decent mall.

We visited your mall on Saturday August 29th. The mall had lots of precautions in place but the eating area and bathrooms were filthy. Food all over the floors tables not being wiped off. I watched someone who was supposed to be doing it walk by filthy tables repeatedly as customers looked for any clean place to sit. Garbages were over flowing with stuff spilled everywhere.

They should make the mall a 2 story and get more stores in!!! Plus doing a 2 story will fix the leeks they have and lot of problems they have. They should definitely get a chick-fil-a here too!!! That's what would make this mall so much better!!! You'd definitely get more people in that way!! Plus you could advertise all over after the add on of the 2 story etc and the mall would definitely be packed and more people I think would come more often. Only giving the mall 3 stars because I think they can do way better!!!........

The Empire Mall is a great place to hang out and shop. The food court has many food options. My son loves playing in the play area. Great place to shop for jewelry for your wife! I hope more stores open up at the mall. There are a lot of open spaces lately.

Great place to stretch your legs when the sidewalks are icy from all the snow. Walk around the perimeter of the halls and you have walked at least a mile. I am tracking my miles to get a free month at the Sanford Wellness Center after documenting 25 miles for even more exercise opportunities.

Has an extensive range of different candies including classics, novelties, and what can only be described as funnies. This place has an amazing atmosphere and it's close proximity to the food court makes it a perfect little candy store for the mall. I don't wish to spoil the experiance for anyone but when you go you'll never forget your first time.

Probably the nicest mall in the state. I am not a huge mall fan, but it generally has all you would really need from a mall. (Department store-wise) One thing I am not a huge fan of is the lack of space to just hang out. The food court for sure has places to sit, and there are some chairs for older men who are waiting for their wives around the mall, and even a place for kids to play, but outside of shopping, I think the young adult age group is kind of missed.

This mall has a great variety of stores and a food court with lots of choices. My favorite being the Leeann Chin! I always get great food there for a reasonable price. It is nice to have the play area for kids and be close to a grocery store (Hyvee).

A thriving mall with a lot of great stores. Clothing, sporting goods, a big food court, salons, home decor, a piano store and more. There's plenty of space inside and a fun area for toddlers to play. However, parking is often tight and it can be a bit of a walk to the closest bathroom.

I love shopping here. Target always has an awesome selection of graphic tee shirts I can choose from. They also have a great selection of baby clothes. It's nice that Kohl's is right next door as well. If you are in need of clothes of any sort I would recommend both stores. Also if you need toys or electronics such as cell phones, TV's, video games/systems, etc. Target is definitely your best bet for the latest and best choices out there.

So when I was here briefly and sure I noticed that with COVID 19 protacal was being meet and the stores only let so many people in at a time and the girl scout cookies were being sold and I should have bought some. Rue 21 is where I went into and the girl at the front of the store said I just feel like you came in here to get perfume. She was right I did just go in there to get perfume, my daughter wasn't with me so I was a bit off my day

Nice and clean play ground for my kids. And prices of items in most stores are reasonable and give good customer services except some stores like gap, express. Esp. Gap store who trick people in to signing credit card saying it is just a membership card.

Hustling and bustling. All major retailers are present and lot of fun to spend a day here over the weekend. Many places to eat different kind of foods in the area as well. Overall a good mall when it comes to malls in smaller cities.

This is a giant store. It was a little overpriced but it's convenient to have so many different things all in one store. We walked around for a bit and got in all of our steps. It was a fun evening experience and you can't beat the cold AC.

I used to work in the mall at American Eagle Outfitters and i have to say it was the greatest job i have ever had, friendly people and great co-workers who are willing to help! The mall itself is a great family friendly atmosphere and one of my favorite places to go. The only reason i gave it 4 stars is because Hollister got closed down and that was my favorite store in the mall.

I don't like malls, but as far as malls go, this is a really nice one. Very clean. Great kids area. I actually don't mind going shopping with my wife here because the kids area is so much fun for the kids. I just wish they had a coffee shop near the kids play area.

As far as malls I've visited across the country go, this was definitely not the worst I've seen. Quiet atmosphere, modern general styling inside. The store selection wasn't really my thing, but it was a great place to kill some time.

I try to avoid this place at all times. I consistently see unwilling youths loitering at all times, but the stores here are alright. It would be wrong to rate them all in one review so I’m giving this review a 3 star because it probably evens out. Also they kicked my son out of the children’s pen for being “too old.” Thanks Patricia for the fun.

Restrooms needed attention around noon. Muddy water had collected on the floor and it overall was just gross. I don't want to have to use them again. The shopping was great, Teavana was gone sadly, but otherwise it was A-okay. :)

It's a mall. It has stores. The biggest problem I encounter is certain stores that sell fragrant items. Walking past bath & body works or Victoria's secret I get a headache. It's too much mixed together and I feel like I can smell it in my eyes. But you'll find that at any mall.

I am not a mall person, but I love this mall. They have a great selection of stores, and very rarely is a spot empty. It also has two great restaurants and a play place for kids. We go here quite a bit in the winter so that the kiddos can burn off some energy.

Its an ok mall, the best in South Dakota anyway. The recent renovations helped quite a bit. Would like to see more stores, as there are a number of empty spaces, and the food court has a few empty spots as well.

My shoes at Trade Homes were to expensive, though the sales person was very kind and good at finding the shoes in the right size. Lane Bryant was great, new out fit off the clearance rack . The food court is so noisy.the accustics are terrible, can't figure out why that wasn't thought of when they built it. It's quieter in a barn. I eat there when I am there out of convenience only.

Went on Black Friday. But surprisingly they got people through lines quickly. Won't be going to JCPenney there however. Very rude cashier. She acted like I was just a pain to her and didn't greet me kindly. She wasn't at till and when I asked if it was open she rolled her eyes and nodded. She was rude the entire 30second interaction

An alright mall. Not too big. But still had a good selection of stores. While it would be better if they had a bigger range of the type of stores. Just your typical clothing and shoes stores. It's the only mall of it's size in Sioux Falls so it's good.

I grew up going to JCPenney and I still enjoy going in there and find a nice clothes from Liz Claiborne which are affordably priced as well as some shoes. They have a lot of good quality products. I've purchased very good undergarments and have been helped by sales people over the phone When I needed an outfit for my daughter for orchestra she picked it out and I just drove over there and paid for it.

It's a great place to shop for Clothing styles new to SoDak. And as per my experience it's a safe place with new people to meet, the only down fall as I see it. It become a young teenagers hangout they run rampant and there level of disregard for other continues to be virtually unchecked by management.

The Sioux Empire Mall is the biggest one story mall in the nation! There are so many shops that you can find something for everyone! From fashion to tech and so much more. It's a great tourist stop! It's a hub for teenagers and offers products that aren't available in the surrounding area.

Mall has just enough stores for every age group. The food selection is good (fast food to sit-down) and it's conveniently located across the street from T.J. Maxx, Starbucks, and Target. I'm usually able to find a close parking spot.

Healthy crowded mall will make the day for the people who visit the mall and this place does exactly the one . Get out to visit this mall on a weekend Eve, get a coffee from a coffee place in the mall and make few shopping , buy some fries from the cafeteria joint and come back home . An evening worth spent. But still the empire mall can accommodate further variety of shops and outlets makes the visitors occupied.

Always enjoy my time in the Empire Mall. I don't get to Sioux Falls very often, but when I do it's usually for shopping so the mall is a must. They have a great selection of stores from hipster-over-priced to hey-i-can-totally-afford-that. It's a reasonable amount unlike the Mall of America.

A store for everyone and now that I live in Marshall, it is my go-to mall. I REALLY wish the hours were longer though. 7pm closing time doesn't allow for much shopping by the time we get done working and make the drive. Hopefully that changes in the near future, depending on the pandemic situation.

Super nice mall. Go figure a clean, all stores with retailers, and Paul Blart on a Segway (seriously) to add to the mall experience. If you were raised in the 70's-90's or have watched Stranger Things on Netflix (and maybe need to buy something or get a meal in the food court) stop in this mall.

Many malls across the country are dying out. Not in Sioux Falls. At least, not yet. This mall is operated by the Simon Group. They operate all sorts of malls across the country, including the Mall of America. The Empire's claim to fame is it is the largest one story mall in the midwest (maybe the country?). Overall it's store selection is very good (my wife says the place could really use an H&M though). Their food court game is very weak. They have two open spots as of this writing. Right now the choices are Subway, DQ, Culver's, Villa Pizza, Two crappy fast food Chinese places, Taco John's, and a pretty decent fast sushi joint. Every mall needs a Sabarro. That's just a fact of life. They have a tremendous opportunity to get it right if they fill the two open spaces with something unique.

Big Empire yawn without it's big anchor stores. Younkers + Sears gone. Penny's is on life support financially but the Empire store is full of over-packed racks of clothes. Macy's also remains and had a great men's clearance area. As is usual for all Macy's, had to hunt down floor staff to make a purchase. The rest of this very large, single-level, indoor shopping mall is filled with the standard mall chain stores, kiosks + food court. Nothing unique or local. Largest shopping mall in South Dakota and nothing better within 3 hours drive. Best regional shopping is in Minneapolis, MN 4.5 hours away by car.

It's the Empire. At one time, North America's largest single-story shopping center- the Empire Mall has been a fixture of the westside of Sioux Falls for a few decades. It shows it's age in the decor and facilities. The mall's parking lot is among the worst places on earth when snow is on the ground. Nearly always over-crowded on the weekend- weekdays give shoppers plenty of elbow room. Not sure if "The Buckle" game is still a thing.

Empire mall in Sioux Falls is a nice environment with nice stores. People r nice and it's also a good place to check out and walk around at.

What used to be a great mall is now just a good mall. It still has great choices but you can see areas that stopped doing business as the dichotomy of buying shifts

With all the big stores closing there are lots of good sells get the deals while you can, the smaller stores are nice and know how to treat customers

Cool info kiosk but its a little innacurate with its food listing menus. It doesnt list all on the listing and has many different ways to look up reseraunts.

This mall is the largest mall here. There are maps located strategically around the mall that help you find the store you need. I can usually find what I want here although the mall is usually crowded.
