Reviews of Marathon Village
Kristine Milburn
Cute. Touristy. The museum aspects are very cool. Auto aficionados will appreciate the machinery, tools, and history of auto manufacturing. Otherwise, it houses a collection of shops.
Yulia N
A lot of history to see. It's a clean and quiet. I am glad I visited this place!
You will need a couple of hours to walk around.
Kris
You have to see this place when in town especially if you like industrial history. There are industrial parts on the walls and in hallways with the stories about them. All kinds of shops are hosted in this building with offices mainly on the second floor. Check out the distilleries too. Some city tours stop here if you want to jump on the tour bus so you don't have to hassle with finding parking.
Mary Macchio
Fun place to explore. Lots of neat shops, history, winery and distillery tasting rooms. Closes at 4pm on Sunday.
Mark Barnes
This was such a interesting place to visit. I thought the American pickers was the only thing here but there is so much to see. There is a museum and a lot of tool exhibits. There is also alot of shops to look through. It was a pretty cool place to stop.
Rebecca R.
Came here to visit Antique Archaeology but the Marathon Village itself was the star attraction. The amazing history and industrial antiques of the motor works stole the show! Some great places here - you can have a drink and some food, and browse through the shops.
Things In Nashville
Found the completed cars. They are across the street from the large building. So much fun learning of the history of these cars.
willy whisman
If it wasn't for stumbling across this not sure what else would've done . The building is a great piece of history all by itself. Now throw in all the shops too. Definitely a must stop.
Shawn Perez
This place is amazing. I'm not sure what I was expecting but this place did not disappoint. There are so many industrial antiques here. It really was an awesome experience. There we lots of really neat shops here to check out as well. There was plenty of parking to put you pretty close to the main entrance. I highly recomend.
Bob Bowser
We had a wedding there in the evening. The location was filled with history and had a wonderful character to go along with it's place in the history of Nashville. The views of downtown were amazing at night. We had some initial issues with the room during setup but the owner was fantastic and hus staff response was fast and professional.
Sarah Hendricks
This is my wedding reception venue. It is a beautiful, vintage red brick building filled with antiques of the early 1900s when it was used as a car manufacturing facility. There is a small museum of the Marathon cars inside the first floor. The third floor is our event space and it overlooks downtown.
Pros: beautiful scenery of downtown Nashville. Big event space. Allowed to bring in outside venders. Does not need many decorations due to prettiness of the building. Across the street is filled with tourist shops including American Pickers store, candy shop, jewlery stores, a brewery & Jack Daniels store. Affordable compared to other wedding reception venues in town. Refundable deposit
Negatives: they were late to open the venue by 45 minutes. Very difficult to contact the office staff by phone. HOT. air conditioning was broken. Lots of stairs to climb. No elevator for handicapped guests. Must pay extra for tables/ chairs. Require liability insurance.
Maureen Linehan
We were here about 4 years ago and I am amazed at how the area has developed and how many businesses have opened in the buildings! Definitely something for everyone here. From the Jack Daniels gift shop to West & Company shop to the winery and brewstillery, a tattoo shop and more. Of course we had to sample some wine and beer!! Lots of collectibles and original art/clothing/jewelry made by local artisans. A must do in Nashville.
John Stallman
Very cool old Automobile mfg facility for Marathon Automobiles. Now refurbished with unique shopping stores and Antique Archeology TV show business place. They have added many of the old manufacturing machines in the inside hallway. Also two live music venues on the same block. If you are into old mfg machines and equipment, this alone is worth the trip.
Katrina Kassis
Tons of cute shops. Barista love was a great coffee shop. The stores were all very unique and exciting. I loved meeting all the makers. Tons of photo opps. And the marshmallow shop had the best marshmallows ever! The antique shop didnt really excite me but I can understand that its famous so people want to go there... I'd say dont just go to marathon village for the antiques but for the whole experience.
Mike
Very cool place to find local made gifts and learn about the history of the old car company.
Chad
Lots and lots of little gift shops in one place. Some tastings can be done here too. Its a nice change from the bars and crowds of Broadway street area. Only one spot to eat though which is too bad.
Philip J. Carney II
Original site of th turn of th century auto manufacturer Marathon Motor Works converted into history museum with numerous genuine Tennessee specific distillery, winery, arts, crafts, and apparel vended by individual shops. A stop on many Nashville bus and motor tours. An enjoyable 2-3 hour stop have fun and go slow.

Marathon Village itself is super cool. Lots of cool shops and reasonable prices for the most part. Be aware of parking. You can park anywhere on the street for free however the main lot has the rudest, most disrespectful man charging $10. The lot is gravel with potholes and puddled water everywhere. Absolutely would avoid paying for parking as it’s unnecessary.
rlschanlaub
Cool if you like boutiques and such. Candles and touristy t-shirts for sale in several stores. You can sample some whiskey and wine. I was here on a Sunday and the restaurants were closed. Antique Archaeology store has some "American Pickers" items, most of the cool stuff they've picked was not for sale, but still a cool place to walk around. The tools and such from the old Marathon manufacturing was interesting. It's not a "must see" in Nashville but if you have a couple hours to kill it's a nice place to visit.
Greg Cullison
This was a very cool place to check out. Tye stores where neat and all the history in building was awesome.
Chihsheng Yang
Great place for suvenior shopping. Intereting small shops, local distillaries and wineries.
Jay DesForges
Plenty of cool shops, winery and distilleries. Pickers store from TV, Jack Daniel's store.
Juliana Ott
Seriously loved this place. I'll be coming back without a doubt about it! So many fun shops to see, and whiskey to taste, and awesome pieces of historic machinery!!!
Zack Henry
Awesome place. Cool shopping village/antique car museum!
Kathryn Briskie
Great little shopping village with great little shops and 2 distilleries. We always swing buy Nelson's Greenbrier and Corseir everytime we are in the area.
Victor Cruz
You would love to visit, nice and excellent place.
VideosbyFred1
Variety of stores to shop. Lots of history throughout the building to see. American pickers has a shop there. Jack Daniel store and a brewery also located there.
Brad McLaughlin
Great atmosphere - plenty of history, shopping, and thirst quenching options. Well worth the stop.
Udara Ranasinghe
nice place to visit if you are in Nashville. love all the shopping.
john edward riascos arboleda
It's a nice place where there's much history.
Page Graham
Great place to visit! This is an old car manufacturer building. Lots of history and machines there. Lots of shops, winery, coffee shop, as well.
Ted Ridley
Each shop was fun to stop into, and my wife and daughter really enjoyed the wine tasting at Grinder's Switch. I very much enjoyed looking at the old vehicles and machinery.
Jennifer Henderson
Such a cool experience!!!! Seriously can’t wait to come back.
Eva Cuthbert
An excellent attraction off the beaten path. We did notice it on our trolling tour but it looks like a Warehouse - would have never thought of going inside. Inside one can see various neat antique displays, several quaint shops and tastings for moonshine whiskey and wine. A must see if you're in Nashville Tennessee
J Montoya
Quick trip here. Found several special souvenirs and a unique bracelet. So much better than the normal tourist stores.
Ba Lu
Such a cool place! Definitely worth a look for some interesting history and cool souvenir shopping or a cup of coffee or whiskey and moonshine tasting. I had no idea about Marathon cars, so this was very awesome to read about. Everything was beautifully displayed. I’d definitely recommend it!
M Grabowski
Quaint artsy type specialty shops, restaurants, boutiques, as well as Antique Archaeology from the History channel's American Pickers are in the old Marathon Motor Works building located in Nashville Tennessee. Parking can be tricky.
E M
Great use of an old building. Loved the museum feel mixed with the shops. Jack Daniel's and American Pickers stores are big draws but huge, overpriced disappointments. The little specialty, artisan shops are delightful. Mostly for women with jewelry, decor, soaps, and a few for the men...along with the museum feel of learning about and looking at tools, and parts from the industrial era, this place has alot. What it doesnt really have is food though but it does have a few distilleries. Come prepared...eat first, come for tastings and shopping and enjoy.
Robert tatlock
Is a fun place to go if you’re 21+!
George Johnson
A must. Stop by and check this place out. Really awesome place and along with the stores inside.
Chris Voyzey
Great place in Nashville. Tactical Lounge was way cool 😎 Tennessee Whiskey tasting was off the charts.
Great eclectic tastes of places
Highly recommend 👌 …
Shannon Tuttle
I love exploring factories, learning about automotive history and seeing new tourist spots so this place is great. There are a few old Marathon cars in the building with the interesting art gallery. The main building has a lot of shops, a comedy club, beer, wine and liquor stores. Good for at least one visit to walk it all. Also great if you're a fan of American Pickers as they have an antique shop here.
Tom Warfield
On the bus tour, it was made out to be a distillery and some shops. Yes, there is a distillery but overall it is just a small part. Loved all the machines from when cars were made here, some unique shops that offer way different items than you find in downtown gift stores. It was actually one of the most interesting places I went to while in Nashville.
Anna Haner
Great historic site with all of these great little shops. Love all of the vintage items dotted all over the place.
Matt Bashore
Fun place. I did not know that this building was built out with stores, until today. It is air conditioned, so it is great on a hot day. A variety of stores. A free museum with old factory machines. There is one hall of machines all driven off of a common belt.
Good time and something different for the family to do.
Kathy Fox
Very interesting and full of history. The retail shops offer an eclectic array from gifts, clothes, jewelry, home goods and more. A great place to find a unique gift while visiting Nashville. A new deli opened onsite which makes a great addition and gives you more time to shop.
Denise Stacer
Lot of different stores - something for everyone! Old equipment around to look at and touch. Tasting of both wine and moonshine. Great place to eat lunch! And you can feel like you are on the show Pickers.
Darryl Thompson
Great history lesson. Love the shops there.
RaphaM29 Raphaela Mykytczuk
Awsome place, diferente things for see there.
Daniel “Keith” Boyce
Awesome historical auto manufacturing building that many don’t know existed
Myche Tician
It's a very neat old building that has been cleaned up and turn into office and retail space. The Vintage equipment that they used to build the cars around the turn of the 20th century are on display. When we went there around 5 p.m. on a weekday, the place was like a ghost even though it looks like most of the spaces are occupied, not hardly anything was open. This is in a town where there really isn't anything else to walk to so if you come down here and nothing is open you don't have many other options.
Amelia Rousseau
A great piece of Nashville history. Fun to walk around and see all the old manufacturing equipment. Beautiful historic building. Nice shops and cafes inside if your into that too.
Candie
The Tennessee Legend Distillery at Marathon Village was great. There was taste testing & I would highly recommend taking the time out for this unique area in Nashville. Our server, Sally, was very knowledgeable. If you don't know what you like, she can help you out! Give it try & take time to tour the facility.
MrD M.
Great place for some history lesson ,stop by the little shops you'll find some interesting people ,I found my nashville Batman building t-shirt there ! Also try the Nelson's Distillery tour (21 and up)
Makers of the Belle Meade Bourbon ,is not as big as the jack Daniels but some very interesting history about the brand .
Kyle Ayres
Moonshine tasting, wine tasting, and whiskey tasting all in one place!
WD Murray
I love Marathon Village. Not just for shopping the really cool shops boutiques Brewery distilleries, Etc. But because I come from an automotive background and the whole building used to be an old car factory they have restored a lot of the machine tools that were used there in the hallways and it's just a fascinating to see these old tools and to have them preserved for everyone to look at. There's a lot of really cool stores and a lot of things to do even if you're not shopping it's just cool to walk around and enjoy the scene there. If you are visiting Nashville Marathon Village is a must-see
Dawyn A
Nice shops, deli Inside is awesome
Craig Kress
Worth a visit. Few good shops and food. Main attraction is the building and all the tools/equipment. Very interesting
Chris Madderom
Hidden Gem in Nashville. Must visit while in town.
Susan Schardt
Great little strip mall to mosey through. Almost a museum....all of the equipment used to manufacturer the cars line the halls. With Antique Archeology, Harley Davidson and Jack Daniels as just a few of the shops it was a clear must in our places to visit.
Larry Pierson
Absolutely loved the walk through. Reminiscent of construction style of our local textile mill along with the old creaking wood floors.
I am not a huge fan of gift shops but others in our party loved them.
What I loved was the history and opportunity to learn or discuss how many of the antique machines worked.
Really antique drill presses, table saws, water pumps, lathes, planers and a slew of belt driven assembly line style equipment. I truly want to walk through there with my dad so he can explain some of this stuff better. What an opportunity for parents to explain "how things work" with kids.
Kudos for the women shopping / men with tools combo preserved here.
Matt Collins
Very cool place with unique ties to the automotive industry and history. parking can get weird, especially during big events, but it's manageable. Looking forward to the next time I need to be at the facility.
Kerly
Old building with tools and machinery from years ago that line the hallway. An antique store with old bicycles, jukebox, outfits worn by country legends and so much more. All types of small shops to browse.
Lev Looney
So cool! Highly recommend going if you want a place to shop that is unique! Really neat place!
Wendy Stephens
Fascinating place, great use/resuse of old factory
Amanda Jean Iverson
Cool mix of old and new. Its like a museum with a variety of stores inside. Great if your into whiskey- a few stops here. No food though.
John Pennetta
This is the building where the Marathon Motor Works,1907-1914 was located. It's now the home of several specialty and gift shops. It is also the location of Antique Archeology (American Picker's) Nashville store. The antique machinery is reminiscent of the the types of tools used in the turn of the century manufacture of automobiles. My favorite was the large wooden band saw. Yes except for the drive wheels it's all wood!
Rachel Carr
Highly recommended for tourists or even those just looking to get a little Nashville experience. Great for a rainy day as well. Small boutiques line the hallway selling knick knacks and antiques. The tattoo parlor and deli inside are a great stopping point, as is dessert at Bang Candy and the American Pickers store (mostly to look around). At either end of the building is a distillery: Corsair and GreenBrier, offering very different spirits, while in the middle is wine slushies and moonshine tastings. Marathon Music Works is a great place to catch some amazing acts for nightlife as well. Trolley drop-offs are easily available for transport and lyfts/ubers are easy to grab as well.
Emily Aicher
So interesting and fun to walk around. Full of history and fun shops. Each shop has it's own hours so not everything was open when we went. Worth a stop! Near the "I believe in nashville" mural
Jan Åke Schiller
I was expecting more of this place. Everything is spread out.
Chris Drobish
You can't tell from the outside, but inside there are number of shops, a coffee spot, a deli, and some brewery / winery / distillery options. It's actually a lot of fun to wander the inside and learn about the Marathon cars from the early 1900s.
Renetta Hendricks
Fun and interesting. It is a tourist stop. There are alot of small shops that have cute things to buy and while you are wandering around you can see some of the original equipment used there.
Joe LaFerriere
This building encompasses a number of shops, restaurants, boutiques, and the history of the Marathon Motor Works which made industrial engines and boilers then from 1907 to 1914 the company manufactured the Marathon automobile.
The tools used to create the parts for the car are from the late 1800's and are incredible if you are an old tool lover.
You also have a winery and distillery in the building so you can even do tastings. Some of the shops you can visit:
Garage Coffee
Bang Candy
Safe House Tattoo
Pure Salon
Corsair Artisan Brewery and Taproom
Grinder’s Switch Winery
Third Coast Comedy Theater
Orleans Avenue Restaurant
Hair Mama Jones
360 Skin Studio
TransPlant Outdoor Living
If you plan to visit Antique Archaeology which is a part of this building be prepared to wait in line for about 30 minutes on weekends. They have to limit the number of people in the store due to capacity.
Marlana Quick
They have some really cool industrial antiques.
Matthew Krahn
Very nice went there for a wedding but the elevator was not working 😕 we were on 3rd floor a lot of stairs. …
Destany Hope
Very historic, loved seeing history here!! This place is adorable and has a bunch of cute little shops. The coffee shop smelled amazing!!!
Kim Smith
Really wish they had the elevators in. I am a DJ, and it makes it hard when you have to take equipment up and down three flights of stairs. Other than that, it is a very nice building.
Melanie Farmer
We used The Room with a View for a birthday party! Victoria was amazing to work with and had all the answers! The space was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Hannah George
What a great find! We came for some of the murals, and stayed and shopped around the museum (FREE entrance!) and the galleries. Parking behind the building is a gold mine in Nashville!

Geoff H
Really neat place to visit and walk around. Check out the shops and see old machinery and tools. Finish the visit with whiskey samples.
Farah Oyhenart
I absolutely recommend going here because you get to see the old equipment and tools that where used to repair cars since it was a car factory. American Pickers have a store there from History Channel called Antique Archeology
