Reviews of Southridge Mall
I stopped at Maurces to look around to try and get few Xmas present ideas. I was successful and found a few darling baby girl outfits and a couple small toys. Also, the candle selection is awsome, so I grabbed a few of them. Bought my dog some things, wrapping paper and and of course had to hit the clearance section. I found some fun things I liked there but things I really didn't need. Always a wide array of items to choose from and great shopping place if you happen to be decorating a space. In my opinion, this store provides more things I like and want vs. things I actually need. Prices are mediocre. Some seem high others seem low. Depends on what you're looking for. Fun store. Worth stopping in if you haven't been in lately or ever.
Plenty of parking. Visited Target, Marshall's and Ross. The latter two could have used more cashiers but given the season and the Arctic Blast and the pandemic employment blues I was not surprised or upset
Not as busy as it once was but it's still around and I like that. City Trends is in the area which is nice.
I LOVE THE STORE EVERYONE IS SO GREAT. I'M GOING AGAIN TODAY. THE SERVICE E ( 10 ).
I like this place... From the flower shops to hippy store.. or checking out the deals at 5 and below.
There is another mall down the street with better stores. I'm not a big fan of strip malls.
I had a wonderful experience. We can find every basic thing we need to live wonderful.
Always love to check out what Marshall's has . There's usually something I needed, but I didn't know I needed it till I saw it there.
I don't like it since most of all the shops are gone but it's a good thing thst DMACC is their
Not even a mall. Large space could use a new top as the rain leaks in.
Went to Hy-Vee there. Would love to see this mall grow not collapse.
It's not much of a mall to me anymore, but the stores that I normally visit are still worth the time to do so. It was a good experience.
It's nothing like it used to be, now its more like a strip mall
YOU CAN FIND ALL YOU NEED AT SOUTHRIGE MALL WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE SOUTHSIDE OF DES MOINES.
O don't go to this makl often but it's a great place to hang out with your people in the summer
K place but a lot of the old stores are gone ...target is all I go there for
Good mall. It has everything you require for daily chores. Areas are well segmented
I just went to Hy-Vee in the parking lot of the mall. Friendly employees. And very helpful.
Edit: Looks very nice from the outside with all the nice store fronts but there is a huge amount of unused space and just wasted parking lot that could be used for something a bit more community friendly. Edit 1: Way better than it used to be. Could be better though. Selection of stores is limited. My first job was at the Golden Chain Gang kiosk when I was 16 years old and it was a whole different animal back then. It was the place to go and hang out for the misfits skipping class. Just a few years before that, you could sit down and have a smoke at the food court after you had lunch. You could even get away with smoking while you were walking around looking for some marijuana, or so I heard froma few very reputable sources 😜 I have always lived on the south side of Des Moines from a very young age and I wish the mall could be restored to all it's former glory.
Since I came to Iowa in 2007, this place was like a heaven to me. With the big stores and playground for kids, it was so wonderful. Right now, it lost some big stores, and reconstructed building. The parking lots are half empty. I would like for this place to expand more, having some very cool and fancy stores, more like comparing to the Merle Hay, or Jordan Creek.... It's too sad that South East side of Des Moines has less business than South West.... Too sad....
Was around when first built and still around today but thanks to online shopping sad to see people rely on their phones to shop and not do what they should be doing supporting local business partners.good old days are gone to this place
It's not what it used to be. It does bring back memories from the 70's to current.
Love all the shopping center glad they finally out in citi trends love that place
I still enjoy coming here but it is really sad seeing all of the wasted mall space. Would love to see the mall revamped with new stores and such!
Very good, got new shoes and clothes, a bit cramped this time of year though.
Parking wise it's good and it has a lot of affordable stores.
Love the TJMax the Ross not so great .
An outdoor Mall that has relevant and shoppable stores convenient to well traveled streets, 2022
Wish they could tear down the old,and ad more stores.
Went during tax free weekend but it seemed the stores were not prepared for the traffic. 2nd time I’ve visited this mall and very busy area. Did get some good deals at Marshall’s & Ross. Wish they had more restaurant selections in this area.
Newly remodel, amazing stores and deals awesome theater
I don't take pictures but I do go to HyVee they're on at Southridge Mall and some of their other stores I like it out there it's small you don't have 88 million people trample and in front of you you don't have to wait in line forever it is really really nice
I think there could be more opportunities for the chance of getting to be able to making it more simpler every day going? By building more openly thoughts and opynions about what they think of the resources to get a chance to see if our community organizations could build more store's there. But it's always been a good place to go shopping on the weekend and spend time with your family members and friends.
Everything i need in one spot so close to Carlisle
Newly remodeled, always clean Hy-Vee is best place to grocery shop. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and fast moving lines.
I used to work at Southridge Mall many years ago and it saddens me to see how it is being underutilized! There is so much space that could be used especially on the back side of the mall. I hope to see it bring new venues and community improvement as we start a new year. Maybe a family community center and possibly an art venue. Just my personal thoughts, I guess would be give our youth positive things to do in the community so they grow up and want to raise their families here also.
Getting old but tons of updates and new stores out front!
Not a bad strip mall with what's left of the stores Pretty decent stuff
Maurice's.
Staff was helpful and knowledgeable about their merchandise.
Need upgrade so bring more people like college kids
If you enjoy large open spaces with little to no one, this is your mall.
We stored our stuff here for two years. Bill was always helpful, the place is clean and we never had any trouble with access.
What mall? The outer stores are ok.
The mall itself is not great. It doesn't look well managed or clean. I bought some of the dots icecream once and it was stale and old. However, the stores around the mall center I find myself visiting at times. Foot Locker and Shoe Carnival both have decent shoes. Ross has some interesting clothes. Target is also close by. Overall, there isn't much need to enter the mall itself, you can enter the places you need externally.
Good place! Not a lot of stores though…
Want to toss which I was not that impressed no selection and kinda dingy, then went over to Marshalls had a much better selection and stags actually present and helpful!😊 …
We end up going to pro shop.
We found everything we needed their. They have all sizes of clothes for everyone. The store attending was very polite and I enjoy shopping at pro shop.
South Ridge Mall is a nice place on the south side of Des Moines Iowa. By Auto is an easy in and out with bus service to and from same location. With a Target store, and an Hy Vee food store, shoe stores, and finally even a Movie theater ( forgive that spelling,) a pleasure to be at, attend, and buy most anything the average consumer needs on an on going bases.
Lastly parking is no problem even on busy days. The management and give credit to the staff, nothing would be possible without them, are wonderful, kind and diligent.
Thanks for your time and consideration for my review, be kind to one another and stay safe, thanks Don.
Went to Target to shop. The store was well taken care of. I worked in a clothing store uts hard to keep things nice. But it was amazing to see everything in place .
Hmmmm
Clean but need more stores
Antique store be nice older people like to visit and if these stores buy and things from customers they probably 🙃 do good and mall that people do visit to walking 🚶♂️around get their daily exercise
I believe I only went to the China buffet it was nice I just didn't like the burrbon chicken it was to soft however the honey chicken was great since it was a lot stiffer also my rating will be low since the grill wasn't open and I wasn't able to try everything
The only reason I visit this area anymore is for T-mobile and Target. It used to be such a populated and colorful place but now it's just a plaza with failing businesses and empty space. On a side note, it's also a very great place to teach kids to drive.
Foot locker was closed with no explanation so we went to target
Very cleaned up gathering of stores accessible only from the outside entrances. This is not a walk-around-inside mall.
The Target has just been completely remodeled and is actually very nice now.
It's worth a stop if you happen to be on the south side of Des Moines.
The store s that are there are great. Like a lot of mall s, not as many store as there used to be. Great parking
Looks out of touch with time, like an abandoned temple almost. First thing you see is the empty theater and it's decaying parking lot followed by a lack of activity as most vehicles are there for Hy-Vee or target. Other than that it can be a nice place to shop if you wanna get away from crowds at the bigger malls
I enjoy going to the southbridge Mall lots of nice little shops kind of bundled up there near grocery stores kind of like a One-Stop shop in that area
Like the new update that they have done to the mall! Stores are great
Went to Target. That particular Target does not have a good selection of many items. But it is convenient.
Variety of shops not bad
This is a great place on the south side but there really is not a lot of variety I feel.
That's all right funny little shops to go to but it wasn't the same as when I was a kid you're really gone downhill over the time
Despite this place no longer really being a mall per se I do enjoy the shops that are still available. The Target in particular has a refreshed remodeled look there's a Sprint store in several outlet shopping locations that you can buy clothing and shoes Etc. It is well-lit and has plenty of parking.
It was awesome.I am so excited with all customer service cooperation and thier help
Visited while visiting family. It was fun to visit.
It's hard not to compare the new Southridge to the Southridge of its old glory days. The new is quite smaller than other malls in the area. There is no food court. It is an in and out type of place now. It has the feel of a outlet mall. Very few anchor stores. However the few that are there are nice and clean.
Alright stores and not too busy. Love the Marshalls there, I could spend hours in it. Good place to go look around for good priced stuff.
Love it. Not as much as when it was an actual mall
Loved Maurices!! It is hard to find cute, comfortable plus size clothes on southside but they have them.
From being a mall to a strip mall now, instead of going inside you'll have to visit each store individualluly outside. All in all, for what it is it still pretty nice to come to.
I really like the more modern design. Don't like all the empty space hopefully another store will go in. It's definitely looking better. I'd like to see a Victoria's Secret go in the mall.
Southridge was a dying mall 5 years ago. I don't think many people saw a future for it, however since the total rehaul it's turned around quite nicely. There aren't as many stores as it once had, but the fact that it's still there says something. What is there will provide pretty much anything you might be looking for and they're all affordable establishments.
Its a mall. They have a good selection of stores and it clean. The restrooms can use a better cleaning !ut as for public restrooms go its ok. Parking is pretty good, a lot is available. Other from that is decent for a mall, make a stop here maybe there is a place that sells something you like.
It's still open is way shocked me
There are not a lot of shops in this mall. The shops they do have are pretty cool. Some better than others. I noticed it was warm wherever we walked inside the mall and the a/c did not seem to be on which concerned me for the animals at the arl. If you are just wanting an indoor place to walk this is a great place to go but if your wanting to shop it's not the place to go
Store choices are great, but a back area of the mall need roof repair badly. This is where women and children get medical help and people with some other medical issues go. Owners might consider removing the roof over the major halls and making it an outdoor walking mall. If that makes sense.
Went to foot locker... was a waste of time as usual. Never have any shoes for my husband's size and the employees were more worried about there phones then trying to make a sale
This is not a "mall" in the typical sense but rather a collection of unrelated stores with no indoor common areas. Still, if you need what they're selling, it's a good place to shop. In my case, it was shoes. Other retailers are there, as well--discount fashions, Target, etc.
I hope this area bounces back. Used to be a great mall back in the day. Parking needs attention and some better food choices, otherwise not bad for an outdoor collection of average stores.
Several food and treats to choose from. I like a Variety selection of toys to choose from, and Petco is the best I've seen. Staff was very helpful. The medications are pretty much all natural. It's not just for our furry purry loving friends,,,,, I bought myself a face mask with a kitty face. Definitely worth the trip.🤓 …
I like this place but the should put more stores there and more of a variety but overall I do enjoy the scenery and the stores they have there now I really miss the old Southridge mall though.
Several New Businesses! HyVee and Target are very nice too
I always love this Mall it's always been my favorite Mall since I was really young still like to go in there I just wish they would fix it up so I can enjoy it again
It’s so unfortunate that this place is becoming so desolate with stores. This used to be the heartbeat of this area and definitely deserves a redevelopment that provides people with the stores, restaurants, and unique experiences I have had in the past when I came here. I really hope that Des Moines does something big out here.
Very clean everything you needed in one spot
I'd say the only stores inside worth visiting is shag, A.R.L., and Canton, all have friendly service, genuine nice people. Outside the mall gets a little hectic. It's like once you park your car you're better off walking around to the different stores than to drive.
Ran into Target to get some last minute birthday gifts for my son. I was happy to find so much Pokemon stuff on clearance, score. The checkout lanes were very busy & slow.
The inside of the mall is declining, but they have done a decent job at trying to cosmetically update and modernize the outdoor area and create a strip mall type of feel. With recent updates to both the Hy-Vee and Targets (including 2 new Starbucks in each), this area has some great shopping opportunities for the area.
Need more stores to make it great again. Don't need big stores just small ones. Get a Michael's crafts over there. Hobby Lobby clothes to early and isn't open Sunday. People are into their crafts with YouTube. Get the Dollar Tree cleaned up and organized and a few other smaller popular stores and you will have some booming business!!! Good home decor stores are the way to go. A good thrift store by the mall. Also so nice good food and reasonably priced restaurants and the South side could be the new favorite place to hang out. The new up and coming area of DSM. The new Ross store needs major improvements!!!
Not much to offer anymore. Don't even think it should be considered a mall. It used to be a mall now it's a couple stores and a lot of vacant buildings and parking lots
Not a lot here, but it's nice for quiet area shopping. The ARL location inside is pretty nice, but it sucks that they're next to a pretty smelly store, and some of the staff there and in other stores leave a lot to be desired. Definitely not a nice place late at night.
I miss the old mall. The many hours relaxing in the food court with friends. The late 90s early 2000's were the best years there.
If you like to shop then it's a place to do just that.
It's definitely not the old Southridge. All of the stores are accessible from the outside. I'm not sure there are any stores inside the actually mall anymore. It seems like a tiny strip mall. Not 100% positive though. I'd definitely go to WDM before I go there. I just went to Party City because they are going out of business at that location.
Very nice
It's bitter Sweet but I do enjoy the new life brought to southridge. This was "my mall" growing up so I miss the arcade and the food court. But the new stores such as Ross Dress For Less do provide the necessites.
Great little strip mall. Honestly one of the best. Useful store fronts, clean and convenient parking
Great place. Been going since I was a kid
Access to inside stores is quite confusing. The newly developed parts are quite nice, and gives the impression that this mall is making a comeback. It's eery to hear pop music blaring in an empty corridor. I generally only go here to shop at Shag.
Southridge Mall is much better looking than before, but it seems to lack the stores that would draw outsiders to visit. Quite a different mall than it was 15 years ago. No good court, no arcade, and now Target is detached.
Has lots of good stores like Marshalls target and Ross
Grew up with this place being a pretty decent and popular mall. Now its all a strip mall. Its not bad though, good store options.
I find myself wondering when this God forsaken place will go under. A shell of it's former glory now looks more like a ghost town. Every item I select I end up wondering if I could find a better one for cheaper.
Face it, Southridge Mall has seen better days. Most of the stores have closed. Sears is gone and Younkers will be closed by the end of the month. A plus is the Target store, which seems to always be busy. There is Marshalls and Footlocker and a few others.
Southridge is actually improving. At one point in time it looked like it was close to extinction. Through a remodel/revamp and DMACC moving a vo-tech type campus in out there, I think this mall might just have some life left in her after all.
I've enjoyed shopping at Southridge. Why close the stores? I'm so tired everything moving West. We do have people still living on the Southside. I don't like traveling with that kind traffic.
I don't like how they tore up this mall and took out the best stores ever. Now you have to walk outside the mall and go to each store separately. They killed a good thing. I don't shop here much anymore.
A promising location for investors! Lots of foot traffic, with no outlet in the area. Sitting within close proximity to several junctions, it would be a diamond in the rough. Horton Plaza offers a complimentary template, as there is ample space for expansion and renovation. Such an investment would bring a surplus of revenue, as the surrounding community would gladly patronize these booming locations.
You meeting my new apartment manager was excellent I got a great little store in there called Shay and another little store where they sell pet supplies and animals I also go there for a retired dressed and a foot surgeon other than that Southridge could really use some of their stores back I haven't been there in a long time Victoria's Secret is gone JCPenney's and I don't understand why
Much cleaner than the old Southridge. Even though you have to walk outside the transition through out the store is much smoother. Lot less children being Hooligans and a lot more people being busy.
Terrible no stores dirty and old. Movie theater is ok
The pizza was OK I ordered a hot Italian sausage with banana peppers on it But there was no sausage on the pizza But there was no sausage on the pizza
It's not the biggest shopping complex, but my wife and i were able to some summer clothes and shoes without the hassle of massive crowds. Clean stores, friendly staff and several close lunch options nearby.
So many fun places, for example if you need to go to target then get groceries hyvee is right by it!
So sad to see this mall so empty. Still beautiful but falling apart
It's not really a mall anymore no stores are open inside. But it's pretty fun to walk in there and jo for a jog
i seen a baby selling weed behind the dumpster, when i tried to talk to the baby and tell him to reconsider his life choices he pulled a knife out and took all my money.
so i did what every other person with common scene would do in this situation, i punt that baby 50 yards like a football .
Really slow traffic here this is what the call old "Des Moines" as the uber drivers like to call it. There are lots of other better malls in des monies with a lot more stuff. This one ranks last place of all the malls iv seen here apparently it used to be busy in the past.
This mall has come a long way since I moved here in 2012 but is still lacking on the interior stores.
Has good stores but a lot have left, pls go support!
Not much to say it's more oof like like a college(DeMac south) with some storres around target but thssd , oh my g" with some
Stores that don't have fun sgns. But for and strip of out doors its ok I guess they do have a newer feel to them . It has nothing in commmen with each other but it s. Something and is normally at least in this case better then nothing there and the the Altoona shopping plaza and Jordan Creek mall to the East and west and everything gets old after awhile there has always been a please try for that thing we call diversity..
We need more stores here similar to marshalls maybe a homegoods or best buy/circuit city. Kohls, Dillards something....besides kay jewelers and marshalls what reason do we have to even go there....it shouldn't even be a mall....its a wasted of good land....the landlord must charge to high rent because he's a biatch.....I mean its basically dmacc now.
Love Southridge, although it has changed over the years it is still a good place to shop and or browse. It is close to Hy-Vee, Target, etc. There is lots of parking. Most everyone is nice.
My entire family now goes to Southside Dental. They have a very nice facility and very clean. Service is fast and direct. They work with all kinds of insurance to help fit everyone's needs.
Didn't seem all that interesting! Laid out more like a shopping center instead of a mall! But I found the jacket I wanted at Marshall's at an affordable price!
This was year's ago was a nice area and Mall today not so much
Thnk you Footlocker for the free wifi when I was in a jam with my paid line phone. Long story. But yeah, next time I need new kicks I'm comin to see ya.
Dying mall but the stores that are still around have very helpful employees theater that is there os nice could use a remodel but usually always has a few seats to the new movies out could use more snack choices but nice
Shoe Carnival is the kids favorite place. With Rue21 there too. Just wish more stores would come occupy the empty space so much opportunity.
Theres not to much here really. A few good shopping spots and acces to DMACC. Theres a few places inside to buy more like snacks and drinks, but they are goid tasting snacks and drinks. The shopping areas are nice but not plentiful. Theres usually plenty of parking so you usually dont have to walk far. Handicapoed parking is available.
I had the pleasure of visiting Holly Hobby and got so many ideas for setting up new theme for living room. Purchased wall decorations and was very pleased with my purchase.
Southridge Mall may not be large like it was at one time ago but the shops that are available are clean affordable and close to home, meeting most of my family's needs. I'm glad to have you near Southridge!
Like a lot of malls, Southridge has fewer stores. Target is the biggest and most diverse. The others are speciality stores. Still a good retail destination.
They are doing a great job of reviving! Several nice stores open. Movie theater. Target. Hy Vee. PetSmart. Dining options. Way to go Southside!
Its always so clean n I get there litter in a bin that u scoop urself I've had cats my whole life n this litter is still the best n if I have a question they help the best they can
I liked it better when it was a inside mall. It's okay, I like the some of the stores they have.
Good close shopping, it doesn't have enough stores like before, sad
Its got a couple places I like. Just wish they would bring back the mall.completely instead of a little strip mall.
Somebody needs to go in and save Southridge Mall. It's a nice place. I hate to see it crumble to nothing. If I were rich I would buy and take care of what needs to be done. You can still go out there and walk around, buy from shop's. SHOW YOUR SUPPORT
Location is great with ample parking. But mostly it is like many stores interconnected in a place.
A lot of empty spaces but a good mix of stores.
We only went into the target store..it was a good experience.it was black friday and surprisingly enough target had a great system set up to keep lines moving.
Iv always liked going to this mall ..needs more buisness again just becuase they opened up Jordan Creek people dont want to come hear anymore ,why not.its still a Good mall they need to bring buisness back this way back to the Southside .
Make sure the stores you are looking for are still open. Okay place.
Southridge Mall 2018 is not really an indoor mall as it once was. Sears is now closed, and the former mall structure is now a DMACC learning center, a small church, and just a few remaining shops. The main retail area is now much more like a strip mall. Younkers still remains as the sole department store left in what was once a thriving indoor mall. The Target store seems popular, but is not a "Super Target" like many of the newer ones. Jordan Creek Town Center is now the major retail district in the Des Moines metro area.
Love the stores and the prices but 2 of the stores are unorganized! No direction !
This Mall is nice but is a bit boring...apparently the ARL is inside the mall. Anyways we go here usually to visit Shoe Carnival but we happened to rescue a turtle in SW 9th and dropped it off at the ARL recently.
Went to Target looking for different things because we are redecorating our house. Found a lot of nice new things.
There used to be so many shops and department stores to visit. It's kind of like visiting a ghost town. There are a few stores left along with a Hy-Vee.
There are barely any stores inside. Just DMACC and a couple of store front churches. Great place to cool off in the summer and let toddlers run free though.
The customers service is very nice
Stores themselves aren't bad. But the locals around the area aren't the best. You have a lot of mall rats walking around. Staff otherwise is friendly. It's sort of clean.
I haven't been here in a while and I was pretty excited to see all the changes. There are a lot of stores to choose from and everything looks updated. I will be back.
This indoor mall has been closed. There are several stores on the outskirts of the mall including Ross's, Maurice's and several others. Target and Hy-Vee are located in the same area.
I miss going to the food court and riding the carousel as a kid, but after shopping in the remodeled locations I can appreciate the new set ups
This mall isn't dead! The city seems to be trying pretty hard to keep it alive, I'm not sure it's working but there are still some good stores and is worth a visit.
The strip mall is good. But inside the mall is dead as a doorknob. The ceiling is leaking and just seems like the old place is falling apart.
Really working hard to grow back and be fantastic. Hoping some new shops come to the mall to give it that next step
They are really trying to make something happen out here, but it just isn't happening. Looks very nice but there are very few stores and of what they have most people won't find more than 3 things they have interest in.
Southridge is redefining itself in a very inviting way. It has quit trying to compete with the super malls and it's very attractive now. Go see fir yourself.
Because of low customer attendance, Southridge Mall has been under review by City of Des Moines. Hy-Vee Grocery & Gas/Convience Store -DMACC SOUTHRIDGE Campus are located on property. I feel Southridge Mall has a future due to growing sub divisions in area. More families 🤗🤗 More Shoppers 🤗🤗😊😁😎 …
It's not really a mall anymore. They do have a few stores though.
Its ok, the mall has pretty much died since I was a kid. It has a few stores nothing all that great.
They did a beautiful job on my dog. People love her painted nails
I wish they could get the mall back like it used to be.
There is not many stores left here on the actual inside of southridge, although Shag and the ARL are still inside and a few small stores, as well as DMACC and a church.
We ate at the New China buffet. There can't be abetter China buffet anywhere in the Des Moines area!
Target is great for clothes... Especially plus sizes. Good quality doesn't shrink!!!! My new place to shop 😊 …
Not the same mall anymore dobt think you could even consider this a mall anymore...
Five stars Southridge Mall has really done an upgrade really like the outdoor Store service would definitely recommend
Don't shop here often but they have a good variety of shops. I miss the mall from when I was a teenager and the carousel.
While they have a few shops and the ones there are very, but there are DEFINITELY not enough to be called a mall maybe a strip mall or quite possibly a mini mall but not a mall. Oh by the way there is obviously not a variety of shops.
No complaints, just wish Foot Locker had a better selection of shoes.
Great places to stroll on a Sunday after Eating at the best Asian American buffet in the Midwest.what a hidden gem 💎. …
Loved it,and it was as far as I thought
You can enjoy peace & walk in a friendly atmosphere. You can stop at Nutrition Plus and enjoy a Great Protein Hot cocoa or Nutritional Smoothy or any of the Protein Bars Delicious . Free Internet
DMACC has college classes available at the Southridge Mall. Very friendly and laidback atmosphere, great learning experience.
Great stores.
Better than the high priced jordan creek mall. It's a out door mall mostly and selection of stores can be lacking....but its getting better all the time....in a year could be 5 stars???
...some of my 1st memories eating at happy joes pizza and watching the people through the windows make the pizza...a lot has changed in 40 years...now i drive there almost every day to take and pick up my wife who works at party city...
Easy to get in and out of the mall. Decent selection of stores. I love that the mall is not crazy busy, and they have a nice children's play area
Always have good food and good staff. They had to change some things after covid-19 but it's almost the way it was before.
JC Penney closed about a year ago.
The mall is currently going through an extensive make over. I hope it will bring new life to the mall.
If you don't want to go to a huge place in DSM or are from a very small town or very big one and just passing through stop here Southside Southridge used to be here Southridge Mall stop here now get better deals only a few shops people are nicer not as much vandalism in b*******
So much gone since it's glory days. Sad to see it now remembering how happening it used to be before Target moved there and killed the mall...
It's a shame so many businesses have pulled out of the mall
Good shops nice and open area for people to walk overall great place
Kays love there warrantys and the merchandise they do stand behind there warrantys
Not much there. Ghost town.
Tons of Empty Space. Great Parking Lots.
Great service! Took good care of our new family member. Will ask for Megan again next time we go.
"Southridge" has D.M.A.C.C. South, Target, Hy-Vee, Starbucks, Southridge AMC, A.R.L. and a bunch of 'typical mall' shops too, (as well as Goodman's, "Hobby Hell"😉, Dollar General, DOLLAR TREE, Boost, Village Inn, Taco John and The Goodwill OUTLET, across the street)!😀 …
Now that they added stores it's such a convenient place. A great one stop shopping place
We visited Ross today. It was a good shopping experience. The parking lot needs more room for trucks to park.
Snacks are really high at this theater, higher than the ones I normally go too.
It's different now. Used to be an 'indoor mall' but that is gone. A lot of the stores have closed their doors and will be missed.
Not many stores there it's not really a mall anymore, imo a Target, Sears, T-Mobile+ a few other small stores. DMACC is largest resident of South ridge mall.
It's obviously not much of mall but I love it b/c I take 2yr old on machine operated rides, look at pets in animal rescue league, & go to the little shop owned by a very cool man from China.
Have a few nice shops there. Will be going back.
what they do have here is pretty decent, but there is room for a lot more stores to make this a better shopping experience.
Southridge is a skeleton of its former self. Very sad. In its day, it was a vibrant place for serious shopping. That day has passed.
I love that they have my 3 fav stores right there
This mall has changed so much over the last ten years! Love the new look and variety of stores!
It was great. My friend lives down there. lol two birds
I still love Southridge! Sure MISS it the way it used to be when I was growing up! It used to be a booming place!
There's hardly any stores but the ones they do have are ok
Like to go there but they definitely need to get more stores and I'd like to see another Food Court come back!!!
I hate that southridge mall closed down but there's still some convenience of the area
Good place to shop
I got gas hyvee gas then i serviced my car at midas
Alot of times I'll stop by target southridge mall is a very convenient place to shop
It still has it's crowds but not like it did when the entire Southridge mall was open from one end to Sears all the way to the food court and the arcade room.. it still has a flair..
Not the mall it used to be. Been going there for 42 years and now it is a.shadow of its former self. The Chinese buffet in front of the place is wonderful.
Working hard to reinvent itself. Has been struggling for years. Loosing a big anchor store like Younkers isn't helping.
Lots of businesses have moved so notvas big a variety. Target us their main asset.
Great service.
It's sad what happened to the mall but they're trying friendly wide open lot more appealing than empty building one thing in Southside does not need
Not a variety of stores to visit. The mall feels empty. Shops were good though.
The mall has sure cleaned up a lot over the years. I enjoy all the stores they have added.
Bit windy for my liking, but the parking was free
Want to visit target and they we're clean with great selection of every thing.
I'm just a farm, or COWBOY kind of MAN BUT, seems very nice 2 live. I have lived in 3 different states & 5 different towns, but like living in Mason CITY. IOWA pretty much the most.
I honestly forgot I went there but I'm sure it was a nice place since memory is generally based on the negative
Nice stores. Good variety. Love to shop here as rather than the overwelming huge malls. Staff are friendly and nice.
Not a lot of stores to choose from.
However the Foot Locker in this particular mall is one of the best in town as far as selection and prices!
Kept clean for most part
Only place I went was Younkers and they are closing and had a great sale. People were super nice. Going back this weekend.
Really gone down hill over the years. The parking lot is a testament to needing the area overhauled
Need more stores
Not much left of the mall, but the Hy-Vee has excellent hot meal choices.
There is a Target for all your other needs.
I like the type of mall that you can walk through not outside around from store to store!
Limited stores, redone strip mall style so you can't go from one to another without going outside. Works ok when the weather is good.
If from Des Moines, this is not the same mall it was 30 years ago but, it's great for a quick run in and go kind of shopper.
Really just a sad shadow of what it used to be, it has about 5 stores people go to now. it all started when they removed the indoor food court.
Needs some work and more stores. But a very convenient location.
I think the mall is looking good. Its just lacking people. I might start shopping there some and walking their mall.
Very clean, music playing outdoors in public areas, lots of parking. Struggling mall so I always try to shop here to keep the remaining businesses open. Help shop at Southridge Mall.
Isn't a whole lot left to the mall but still a few good stores standing. Love the Footlocker that's here.
Good stores. Security. Easy parking. Easy access. Sears is about desolate! Your basic mall
Is there a mall? What ever this place is called now it resemble nothing from the pass. Just to be My favorite place to visit
It needs some more stores with a better selection of clothes. Seems to be going down hill quite a bit lately.
Good place for shopping
Great place to visit! We were able to find some great shopping deals and a good variety of stores!
Very spacious. It was a bit crowded but overall had a great variety of stores. Had a great experience.
Paigeee wanted to do a lady and the tramp photo. She's funny.
I have always enjoyed going to south ridge mall. I look forward to partnering up with south ridge to increase the overall appearance. Look forward to extreme modifications.
Stopped in at Target and found good quality items that I had seen on TV. Very good shopping experience there.
Nice place to shop. Minutes from home. Decent shops to go to as well as Target and Hy-Vee.
Because it's where hyvee is located and that's where i do most of my grocery shopping
Used to be an amazing mall till they changed it, the stores are okay, they should add a food court though
Always enjoyed Southridge mall....wish there was more stores to select from...so i wouldn't have to bus to the other side of town. ..
This place was hoppin'! Good food court with very nice seating
Big space for lots of friends and family to enjoy cool staff. This place would be nice for all kinds of events.
Lot of stores to choose from to shop, a good variety of places to eat eat the food court. Something for everyone in the family to do.
I used to love southridge and though I underatand the idea behind the change I don't go often at all now that it's different.
It's just a ghost-town now, so sad.. But if you want a bunny, the ARL has set up shop here!
Been here a lot but so many stories are closing that it's sad cuz we miss some of them. The Canton store is great!
Have so many stores you can go to and shop or just look and have fun around the area I usually go there often.
I hadn't been to Southridge in years and I like all the new changes they've made they really updated it and made it modern
Well, Southridge really isn't a mall. It is a strip mall. You have Younkers and Target and then a few other stores. I like it because if the location.
They have downsized a lot but still offer some great stores. Stop in and enjoy.
The stores are great. The people are nice and helpful. Its really nice andgood price clothing
Not the same mall from 20 years ago but I still love to go there and shop!!!
Did not go into any stores it was very early MORNING And I just walked through the parking lot caught the city bus thank you
It's gone down hill since it was made into a strip mall. I only come here to the Target, sometimes to Party City. But it's no longer the mall it was in the 90's. If you are looking for specific shops this is you place.
T-Mobile Tuesdays is awesome!! Just received my free umbrella and Garrett, the manager, threw in a towel and apron😊😊. Thank you. …
Found what I was looking for. Decent for what they have done with the old mall.
We had a wonderful time!
This mall is dying. Used to be a great place. Nothing there anymore. Sad.
Even tho it changed I still love Southridge mall.
Cheap movies $5.29. New movies. Seats not bad. Needs some good cleaning.
It's fine if you just need a Target run or don't want to venture to the west side.
Good for walking since there are not many stores open.
pretty empty. not very good stores. however, the Marshalls, movie theater, and target are great.
Good stores but extremely empty mall.
Good shops not that interesting until the carnival comes.
The mall is actually quite nice inside, however for whatever reason there are very very few shops inside.
Tell you all the truth all that did was a little drive by and I'll tell you they've got up quite a few little storage right in that whole area
It is convenient shopping at reasonably priced stores. Parking is free. Sales staffs are pleasant and helpful.
Is not in side mall but you can find good deals, have good store and restaurants
Still needs a lot of development and it's not really a "mall" anymore as much as a community center . Target now has a Starbucks so they are somebody now.
The mall wasn't bad but it ain't nothing like it used to be I miss that mall
It needs a couple of big anchor stores after losing Younkers and Sears, but it's still nice enough.
You can find multiple stores on here
MARSHALL'S
ROSS
FOOT LOCKER
SHOE CARNIVAL
TARGET
SPRINT
PARTY CITY AND MORE,
SKY OPEN MALL , JUST LIKE A PLAZA
Love the New China buffet. Southridge needs to fix the parking lot.
Theres businesses being built in here and theres dmacc classes but not many shops. I always go to shag and the animal rescue league.
More of a shopping plaza than a mall, yet current stores are up to date & with checking out
Apparently you cannot play Pokemon Go after dark here or the security will threaten to call the cops on you. 🙂 …
Love going to Ross's & Marshall's Shoe Carnival, Maurices & Rue 21! Love all the stores!
It's decent, a variety of stores which is nice. Plenty of parking.
This is a scary mall to go inside, it seems to be on it's way out. They are also reverting it to more of a strip mall, which I think is probably their best choice at the moment.
It's not much of a mall anymore. There's a few newer shops on the outside of the mall, so it's more of a strip mall now. Still worth a visit.
Great walking place but not a good shopping place unless you go outside of it
Nice selection of stores and easy parking access. Not too busy.
Wish it was still in its former glory, still a clean mall, great shops, and friendly people.
Staff at all the stores were friendly and we found some good deals
Good praises.
Lovely place to visit I went with my family have lots of fun good store
A lot nicer looking than previous years qhen it was dead. The change in format saved the mall.
Southridhe isn't a real mall anymore. Just a strip mall. It's a shame, I remember when it was the best mall in town
Just went to Target. Selections of products seem to be getting more limited each time I go there.
It's a good mall
But the parking space It's to small
I remember the old mall. Indoor shopping and the merry-go-round in the food court. I have so many memories there!
I didn't go there. I went to AMC theaters. I do know that more than half the stores have closed.
My amazing husband to be, bought me this absolutely gorgeous necklace while we were there!
The resurrection of Southridge mall is a very small and humble start. The changes are very simplistic and attractive.
More of a strip mall now, would be great if there was any food/drink!
I like the stores this mall has, plus I also like the Younkers, the employees are so fun to talk with.
Not really a mall, more like a shopping center. Target and Hy-Vee are really the only reasons to go
Southside always got what I want!
Parking location for Principal Charity Classic PGA Tour Champion's tour event held in the spring every year. Volunteers park in one area & spectators park in another area.
Was close to a mall as we can find on the Southside. There's a HyVee, Target, Younkers, GNC, and other stores and the surrounding area
