Has really gone down hill over the years. Stores close whenever they want, many stores are rarely open. I would love to see this place “come back to life” not everyone wants to online shop all the time. I still enjoy the experience of shopping in a mall. I’ll remain hopeful for this place.

It has suffered the same fate as many malls with stores closing with only a few chains surviving. It's clean but a bit old. There are only 1-2 choices in the food court but there's an IHOP and an Applebee's so that's convenient. If you're looking for a lot of different options, it's not that great. Definitely check the store directory before you visit so you don't waste your time.

It had been a while since I last visited, but took a trip there a few days ago and I feel so sad that this lovely mall has lost so much personality. This used to be a place where people from all walks of life, low-income to the elite, could shop and enjoy. What a disappointment it seems to be now. There are a few shops that have affordable items and Applebee's was great. I wish you all well and hope you have a better future.

I like them all seem really relaxing but unfortunately it seemed to be kind of like empty out of business because of covid I heard some of the owners talking and saying that they were hoping to revamp and redo them all but since they have so many competitors nearby looks doubtful but hopefully they do I think it's one of those places that happens is just be off the beaten track and the other malls have so much more than it's like a lot of competition that they're facing but the deli place the guy was friendly he had a frozen cheesecake with chocolate dipping sauce and besides that it was clean nice bathrooms secure nice waterfall or water feature I enjoyed it it's just that it wasn't very accommodating as there wasn't many stores

Nice to spend some time in AC but it seems like there are fewer stores and the food court is sad with only 3 or 4 places open. I was shocked to read that this is the largest indoor mall in VT...maybe it speaks to Vermont values and being outside instead of the mindless consumerism mentality elsewhere? It did make me think of the 2 story malls I had been to in other states with 2/3 times the stores. Perhaps people don't get past the Pretzels and Boba after entering through Target. Maybe the parking in relation to the shops in the mall is also limiting...I had no idea Kohl's was attached to the mall until I looked at the map. Nonetheless, a good place to go for some AC on a hot day! Make sure to get a treat from the candy shop!

Wish there were more independent vendors to add more variety to the Mall, Plus more Local Vermont owned businesses. I think people would appreciate local business for not only tourist but for the State. Keep our Vermont products available for everyone. Kinda dull since they took out most of the Food court too.

Indoor mall, nice shops friendly folks. Food court, was small several have closed. Interesting local stores and gifts. Fun to look around any way.

Hard time finding anything for a 64 year Old . Mall had clothes for teenagers. They cater to the younger crowd. Not much for the older generation. Some stores were so dirty. J.C penny was the worst. Only good thing about the mall is Applebee's. I'm sure there were other stores that was good . I did not go in all of them.

Another closed down or not working in Mall. Customer Service in Target was horrible. The Big Blue Trunk attraction was 6 Thumbs Up Amazing. He is there in Winter and Weekends when not attending Birthdays/Festivals. Suggest showing early BBT host was a little gruff at the end of the day as most would be. :)

The University Mall is in a bizarre state of transition. If you're looking for a mall of yesteryear, you'll surely be disappointed. All but a handful of the big chains have closed. That said, if you're looking for Vermont crafts, antiques, or other niche products, you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's almost kind of an indoor flea market with an American Eagle, Maurice's, and Spencer's thrown in, anchored by a Target and a Kohl's at either end.

The Food Court is very empty. Many stores have closed, but it still has a good variety and is an enjoyable location to visit. Excellent spot for indoor mall-walking in cold temperatures.

It's a dying shopping mall. What can I say? There's a Spenders and reasonable Hot Topic as well as a local gaming shop. It's a lovely little place but also a little sad.

Like a lot of malls these days, it seems to be suffering. Minimal remaining food court, a lot of empty store fronts. Still a nice place to shop in bad weather with a number of unique shops. Support your local merchants by shopping here.

Good mall but overall not the best in Vermont. The shops in the mall have begun closing just like all over the rest of the country but this mall has managed to hold back closings relatively well. While this is one of Burlington's only places to buy clothes from large chains, but I would recommend going to the church street market place instead of here because if you are coming in from other places around the country then you most likely have a mall similar to this one and if your from Vermont then it's in your best interest to spend more time in the church street market place. Overall if you live in Vermont this is a great place to buy regular clothing but other than that church street is better.

Always enjoyed walking throughout this mall, even when I was younger. Not as many businesses as there was then, but still a few good ones I enjoy checking out. Applebees, IHOP and Auntie Anne's are my favorite places to eat while visiting the mall, the bathrooms are always clean, and the mall is always clean as well. It's a quiet mall, and not usually crowded unless its christmas season. The target here is amazing, Spencer's is phenomenal and Hot topic has Harry Potter stuff!!😍😍 Did I mention Auntie Anne's????😍😍😍❤

Your typical mall experience. Like many malls there are a number of vacant stores at any point and the food court is at about 2/3 capacity. The interior is nice and offers a lot of seating outside of stores. Overall it is clean and well maintained but the real downfall is simply store turnover, which is really a product of modern commerce and not this mall in particular. You will find Santa and Easter Bunny photo ops during their respective holidays as well as events throughout the year. What this mall really needs is a good toy store!

I was able to complete most of my Christmas shopping in one place. University Mall has everything from perfume to pots and pans, from clothing to casserole dishes. From gaming to electronics it's your one stop shopping place. Plenty of parking if you don't mind a bit of a walk to the store you need. There's also the choice of the food court or Applebees, even IHOP. All around good shopping experience.

I love that there's still a Mall to visit! I was looking for new spring clothes and found everything I needed. I like the new stores they've recent put in. Having Target was a nice change. I live 2 hours away and it was worth the trip.

It used to be a lot better with Sears there!Now you have to make a extra trip if you need a tool or garden equipment etc. Also with having all the seating removed, makes it less appealing to visit and shop.

University Mall is sort of a microcosm of what it is like living in Vermont. It's nice, and has enough storage to get you the mall experience, it just feels like it's lagging the level of availability that you might get in other malls around the country. The building itself is nice enough, and the food court, when full, does have some nice variety in the food that you can eat. The bathrooms can be a bit grungy. Also if you go during off-peak hours, you will definitely notice a much younger crowd that seems to make the mall their hangout spot. Ever since the parking garage got put in, which was admittedly a long time ago, I haven't had any issues parking.

i like the stores but i don’t like the smell. sometimes you can see people sitting in the applebees looking out the window but the windows just face into the mall so it isn’t a good view. also i applied to work at zumiez but i didn’t get the job :(

Definitely keep going down hill every year. I love Yin's Collectibles and The Juice stand. A few other places are cool and worth the visit, other than that definitely just a time waster if you are every bored.

It's an ok mall doesn't have many of the stores I would like but you can find what your looking for. It has a huge parking lot so it's not hard to find a spot. I wish they had better shoe and clothing stores were the better ones. Bigger. Not many healthy options in the food court but all and all it's a good mall. Friendly staff. It feels like a warm, safe and comfortable place to shop

For many years I would venture to the University Mall to go Christmas shopping. My parent's would have their wares in a co-op crafter's shop. Their were so many good stores in the mall. I hope this year will be close to the same, even with some many challenges. And don't forget, if you like this review please press the like button!

I find myself going to the mall in a pinch, most of the stores seem deserted. Which I like less crowds. When I do go it's usually to the jewelry store for my wife.

Average mall. Average store selection. There are some cool shops in the mix, plus the SoBu library, so that's a plus. Also, a new Target is inbound in the next year or so. Food court is underwhelming. Overall, go to the library, which is awesome, or it's just an OK place to spend an hour walking to get out of the cold.

Lots of very nice stores and quick snacks at this mall. Beautiful gifts at Hallmark, big JC Penney, Christopher and Banks women's clothing, bargains at Kohl's, several boutiques, irresistible fresh pretzels with all kinds of toppings, fruit and yogurt drinks, Burlington Library branch, and Target will be opening soon.

The U mall seems kind of empty these days with half the food court gone and revolving novelty or small stores coming and going. Though the mall will be completely different when a couple big name department stores open sometime in the next year. Interestingly enough you can even find the S. Burlington Public library hiding by Sears, so make sure to grab a pretzel while you're returning your overdue books...

Great stores and looking forward to Target coming! Need better food vendors in the food court. One thing that's a definite plus is Applebee's is located in the mall. A GREAT place to eat and always a friendly staff with an awesome menu.

Very clean mall. Ate Japanese food in food court and it was delicious.! Great place to shop , plenty of free parking. It would be nice to have a pharmacy type business like CVS or Rite Aid which sell toiletries

Nearly always crowded, and lacking sufficient seating (apart from the cafeteria) I'm not really a fan of this mall. I do believe it to be the best mall in the state, but honestly that's not saying much. I'm not into shopping for clothes, but if I were then I'm sure I'd like this place a lot more considering that's nearly all the stores here carry.

Love their food court. You can find anything for any type of food you want. They have ice cream/frozen yogurt, McDonald's, Subway, Dunkin donuts, Chinese, pizza, etc.. Annie's pretzels are amazing. Plus whatever you're shopping for you can usually find. They have an old style candy store that's always my favorite. Plus they have activities too.

A mall that it's still active. It continues to change but seems to always fill vacant stores. H&M just opened. Sears closed. Target is fairly new. Food court has very little, but there is an IHop and Applebees. There are various activities and special shows throughout the year. Closer to rte. 89 for easy access.

Nice stop for a tourist if you know what stores on the inside. It's kind of sad how many empty store fronts and spaces are just empty. This place used to be packed full of retailers and every food space was being used by local or lesser known commercial restaurants. Now the cafe is only half full and is mostly commercialized.

Great place to shop. A wide range of stores with affordable prices. If you're looking for a day to go window shopping or spend time with your significant other without spending too much money, this is the place to go. Plenty of food options ranging from continental to oriental. Definitely worth the drive if you're from out of town.

So many different stores to choose from. I also like the fact that there are comfortable couches and chairs dispersed throughout them all so that people can sit and rest and visit have a pretzel. Many of the stores that I've come to rely on have been closed for example the shoe department and express. However with Target going into the old Banton I am looking forward to browsing the Isles. They're also plenty of food options or you can bring your own and sit in the cafeteria they do a great job of keeping the food court and the bathrooms clean witch I'm sure everyone can appreciate.

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect from any mall. Decent shop selection with a range of brands for various income levels. Food court is small but comfortable. Right off of local bus lines for easy access, and large parking lot available for free.

Recent renovations have made the mall so much better. I would give 5 stars, but the options for food are quite limited, especially after H&M took over half of the food court.

This mall is definitely trying to reinvent itself as the retail landscape changes. I like seeing the Target and the South Burlington Public Library inside -- something different! Looking forward to a nicer food court and other desirable stores as the UMall continues to develop.

I know everyone is now online shopping but I still like being able to touch and push the buttons on the things I'm buying. Every Xmas I get at least 1 item from Amazon that doesnt work or is the wrong size so old fashioned is still my favorite way to shop

Very kid friendly. Little ones can ride on a small "fairy train" through out the mall and go on a scavenger hunt. I do not have little kids but it looked like all kids on board were having fun.

I grew up malls... I love malls. I hate seeing malls empty and closing all across the country. I hate strip malls. So any mall that is full and clean is a plus. My only...well i have a couple more regarding food but thats another story.... gripe with Umall is the food court or lack thereof...great mall for its size

Yin's Glitters was our favorite place to shop because it has lots of cool stuff and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My kids loved looking at everything and had a hard time deciding what they wanted to buy because everything was awesome.

Angry about the pre holiday hours! I'm a last minute shopper (my fault I know) but maybe stay open until 11 ? Not just 10!!! Other than that i have shopped at this mall for years and seen it go through a LOT of changes and i have always been very happy with it !!!!

Food court is down to pizza, smoothies, and two Asian spots. IHOP and Applebees round things out. A mini-Target and H&M are going to draw crowds, but I think it will take more than that to make this an appealing shopping location again.

It's the local mall, what else can I say? A good variety of stores and better than the downtown mall in my opinion; though the church street marketplace in it's entirety is better overall. If you want to do a little window shopping indoors, and possibly grab lunch, U Mall is still the place to go in Chittenden county. Barnes and Noble across the street and several good restaurants nearby doesn't hurt either.

Kay's jewelry is great, lots of selection and great prices. The mall itself is being renovated and it will be the one stop place. Need more food choices but when all is finished I sure they will work on that also

I liked in a while back in 2016 but now stores and food chains I liked are gone. Even my favorite store FYE is gone. It's sad but Vermont gets it's first Target in October. So it's not all that bad

It's an ok mall. Most stores are closed during the week. Not much for a food court. But it's not bad for a small mall

This mall has great shopping options and it’s usually pretty quiet. It is conveniently close to UVM campus without needing to go to the crowded downtown area. I can always find parking, and there are many entrances to outside, and the city bus has a stop right outside.

Since Mall is recently expanded by Target and H&M, the place is now more lively and always full of people visiting and doing shopping and eating. Good and enough parking to cover all. Bus stop for Downtown bus, Williston Bus and Walmart bus. Enough shops to fulfill your shopping need. Just missing the old MacDonald, Subway and Dunkin donuts as they all are closed due to recent construction of H&M. I think Mall is still short on food variety which was enough last year . Also one of my Favorite eating restaurant in the Mall is Apple Bee

Biggest mall in Burlington with easy on/off access to I-89. Major stores (Kohl's, Sears) and lots of mall stores, some chain stores, many local. Food court is average. Great for window shopping and excersize. Great for teenagers and weekend shopping.

It's a mall, it has stores, few of which I would shop in, but to each their own. It's got good selection and is a way to kill some time. Only store I'd personally shop in is the Land's End in Sears, but I'm not young or tasteless. The young and those lacking taste will find lots of value in this collection of stores. It has the usual mall stuff like a food court, lots of womens shops full of glittering animal print tackiness, a Pennys for the aunt Katherines of the world (you know the great aunt that puts blue xmas lights up because of the way they reflect in her white bouffant hairdo, who smells like she fell into a vat of parfum, and whose whole xmas tree is so covered in metallic tinsel that you have to be careful where you place the 9 volt batteries else it ignite), plus the requsite Spencers and other dark and loud stores where the kiddies can go to rebel against convention and buy clothes that are all alike and other things that will anger their parents. In other words: it's a mall.

This mall is currently going through a pretty massive restructuring, so there are a lot of empty places. The food court consists of three places now. An italian place, a Chinese place, and a Japanese place. The Japanese restaurant Tokyo is my favorite, but the Sbarro's pizza is pretty good.

Again I went today and had Jocelyn cut my hair and it was absolutely perfectly done. It was fairly busy when I went. I had an appointment and she was right on time and very professional! I will ALWAYS go here and have her cut my hair!!!

This is a typical mall. This time around I had a guy driving ansurfari train around with little kids. It nice and all,. Be has to realize people are walking and shopping in the mall. Also, a lot of the food court is shut down. You have chineese and pretzels to choose from. O what there is an Applebee's,. But I don't eat at an Applebee's.

Compared to alot of malls in this nation, at least this one still has stores! H&M is coming which is pretty dope, they do currently have a Library in the mall, Kohls, and JC Penny. There is only one ATM near Kohls, ooo food court is small but they do have Applebee's and Ihop! Not a bad mall loaded with all the basics.

It's a tough time for the mall it seems. It's under renovation so many stores have closed, including half of the food court. Hopefully the renovations will bring back some life into this once fun mall.

Plenty of places to choose from and plenty of helpful employees throughout the various stores, was my first shopping trip here in a couple years but I worked here for several years a long time ago and it was nice to see some familiar stores and former coworkers are still around.

Big mall, with lots of fashion stores and outlets, to name some of them- Sears, jc Penney, Kohl's, h&m, Target, lens Crafters, ihop, South Burlington community library, Vermont chocolate factory, children's place, auntie Anne's, food court and lots of other stores. It definitely has more stores as compared to downtown mall.

Nice enough mall with a moderately sized food court. However, this was the second mall in Burlington to have sub-par bathrooms. Even the toilet seats looked like they'd been through some hard times. That and the rough parking lot are the only real reasons I knocked off a star.

The mall just feels dated. A lot of small odd shops and a few bigger chains. The parking lot is pretty rough in some spots and the parking garage is very short. Really not much to do here as there is no entertainment, just shops, which is okay if you're just running in to get something.

checked online and on the phone today for thanksgiving to see if the mall was open. every schedule said open from 9:00 am - 9:30 pm so i drove all the way to the mall and suprise IT WAS CLOSED. they obviously forgot to update it I posted something on their facebook about it . and my comment was deleted and an hour later GO FIGURE to save face cause they screwed up they hurried up revised the schedule and posted the link making me out to look like a liar. VERY SHADY and UNPROFESSIONAL. they could have just said we screwed up. instead they lied. wont be giving them my holiday buisness
