Reviews of Church Street Marketplace

I love the vibe here! There was every type of shop, live music, and fun for the single traveler and family alike. There are great pictures to take and it is a short walk to the Lake Champlain shore for a great sunset.

Church Street Marketplace is an open market place about three blocks long starting from Main Street. It is a street that was blocked and for pedestrians only. Church Street is lined up with shops and restaurants along with Burlington VT City Hall. We were there during the Festival of the Fools and we don't know why it's called it like that 😂 There were various street performers who came from all over the country to perform on that day. We had a great time, and it's a great experience.

5.14.22 If you enjoy people watching, this is the place. I'm not an attention getter so was a bit surprised by the number of freaks and people dressed in such ways that you just had to stare. There's a time and place for everything so if you have little kids with you, be prepared to see just about anything. On the positive, there are great food venues, music, good energy, and the streets were clean.

Burlington is a great town. Our first stop on our trip to Canada. Church St. Market place had live music. The city has a wonderful vibe. Lots of pedestrian friendly areas all around the college and down town. Good restaurants, shopping, activities, etc. All sitting right on the edge of lake Champlain. Definately a stop in or a fun place to spend a few days

Great pedestrianized road. Tons of cool shops and eateries. We stopped in at a lot of places and there was so much to look at. No cars, lots of walking room. We stopped to watch a magic show and listen to some music. Wonderful on a Saturday afternoon.

A bit of an art deco inspired dream, the main throughway of Burlington, VT offers loads of privately-owned shops that cater to almost every desire. From fashions to ice cream to pubs and eateries. Live music plays here quite frequently and can be heard droning up and down the street. There are usually many people during the busy hours, but not enough to feel uncomfortable. One end of the street hold the beautiful church the street is so named for, while the other end holds the main government buildings. There is a slope to it when you head toward the government side of things, but not terribly bad, even for a big guy with crotchety knees. But the art is mainly why I enjoyed it so much, as much of it is inspired and inspiring. While in Burlington, you'd be remiss if you didn't visit this amazing place!

An extremely thriving area for shopping and food. The streets are clean and festive. My experience involved just window shopping and buying chocolates. Getting food and walking down to the lake. You can park at the university parking deck for a cheap cost than the other lots I think. Overall it was a great city center to visit.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was hesitant… Had this outdoor walkway changed so much since Covid? Not so!
The negative reviews are way over the top. Plenty of charming, local & unique shops. Naturally, there were homeless people, but no one bothered us.
The only danger? The expensive prices!

Plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There are a few gift shops in the area but nothing as much for souvenirs. Good to walk around and take a look at all the historic buildings. Its a short walk to the waterfront which gives you amazing views of the Lake Champlain and upstate New York.
