Reviews of Porter Square Shopping Center
Great little shopping mall with a nice variety of shops. Large grocery store in Star Market, convenient CVS and Target for almost anything else you'd need, plus a wonderful liquor store and book store. Heck, the Michaels even has some model kits.
Not pedestrian friendly similar to most strip malls big box stores a plenty with a few sweet little shops peppered in
Lots of variety of shopping and conveniences Especially love the Porter Square bookstore 📚 that also has a Cafe inside. ☕️ …
Stores! Parking where you'll never be ticketed for 3 weeks, or towed after a half hour! Convenient distance from porter T stop and bus lines! Get yelled at by a homeless man! Good mix of boutique, staple, and specialty stores. Short walk to a variety of local eateries and attractions.
I love visiting this shopping center because I know I will always find something I want or need.
Even though it gets busy, parking can always be found. I particularly like the Porter Square Book Shop and spend a lot of time there. Their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and their recommendations are always very good. I love Henry Bears Park for toys and gifts for children. They have a wonderful selection of educational books and toys.
I used to go to the gym at this Shopping Center as well, but found it very expensive to use, as one has to pay for childcare, and all the classes I wanted were always full.
The shopping center in general has a lot of great offerings and one can get all of ones shopping done in one place, and find easy parking.
Driving by Porter Square I briefly saw this extraordinary side street and made a mental note to return the next day. Twenty-five years in the making, the Davenport Mural is a delight to behold which immediately draws the observer into the three dimensional historic street scape scene. A real treat!
Great spot to pick up a book at Porter Sq Books or shop for a gift. Grab coffee and a treat at Café Zing, pick up some toys at Henry Bear’s Park, get crafty with tools from Michael’s, decorate and stock your home with all the essentials from Ace Hardware, find something earth loving at Cambridge Naturals, pick up your meds at CVS, grab a bite to eat at Soup Shack, Ben & Jerry’s or The Halal Guys.
So nice around there! Other surroundings around. Ben and Jerry's, right across the way. Free parking
This little shopping center has a lot packed in for a small area. The CVS has 15 minute parking which is almost always available right up front of the store which is convenient. Michael's craft store is amazing. The tags it's a great place to copy keys amongst the obvious things that you would shop there for. Spray paint, household items that are related to fixing up your house and so forth. A lot of cute little items as well. The Star Market, bookstore and some places to eat
This shopping center is really cute! I was there for the Micheal's, but I was surprised at all the variety in the stores!
In particular was the store next to Micheal's, which had an Ace Hardware sign out front so I assumed it was like a Lowe's, but then I looked in the window and saw a bunch of really nice-looking kitchen equipment. I didn't have the time to stop in, but it looked great from the outside!
Additionally, it's REALLY easy to get picked up by ride-sharing services here!
It's hard to find entrances to some of the business, otherwise a nice inner suburb selection of stores
The big LL Bean store is a lot of fun. Loved the architecture and natural light, multiple levels, and if course the indoor trout pond. Oh and they sell great outdoor stuff too 😁 …
Most of the day the plaza is open to 🛒🛍️ shopping after 8a.m. with a quick place to have a meal and hot tea or coffee and much more Meet your friends and family7days a week!! …
It has pretty much everything you need. Groceries (Star Market), a pharmacy (CVS), food and drink (Halal guys, DD, liquor store), a bookstore, a Michael's, and even a Target across the street. Can do all of your shopping in one go. Davis Square is also down the road if you want to hit up the local shops too. Conveniently close to Porter T stop.
Ample parking other customers a little rude but staff semifriendly
Good place to go get art supply some of the things are extremely cheap
I was 100% completely satisfied with my visit to Porter Square! They have many stores with wheelchair accessibility to every store there. Plus they have a 24-hour seven day a week CVS Pharmacy which is a medicine for anyone that needs help getting medication.
Cool mall. There's a bookstore, a crafts store, a big supermarket, a pharmacy and a naturalist's. Plenty of parking, but it's also right next to the train station (shame they don't directly connect). Some bike parking but could use some more - I would suggest converting some car parking. Overall, a good trip. Don't be scared.
Ya just gotta love this area!! There's a whole lot in a compacted spot.. in a good way. Wish Michaels would've been stocked but so be it. Shopping in Shaws is like shopping in sunshine and top off the trip to Porter Square with a hot or cool refresh from Dunkin or from a number of other places! My Porter Sq how you've grown up through the years
Nice strip mall with a good mix of shops. There's Star Market, Michael's, Porter Square Books and Cafe Zing, Dunkin Donuts, The Halal Guys, Panera, Yume Wo Katare Ramen, Tags Hardware and around the corner is Target and CVS.
Well star market don't sell cigarettes..I had to go to wine and spirits to get cigarettes and they gave me matches so that was good
Convenient shopping mall for when visiting the Cambridge/Somerville area. Michael's and Star Market are my favorite places there but there's a good array of other stores and dining options available. From fitness to coffee you can certainly find what you need here.
Great shopping area with grocery store pharmacy, hardware store, health club, a new Target, the best Michael store ever, a very cozy bookstore with coffeeshop, a Panera Bread, a women's only health club, and much more
I only went to target was rather estatic with my purchase. I can honestly give a total 5 on the shopping plaza because I went to one store got my item and popped back on the train to Boston. It is convenient to red line which is across the street from plaza. I woulf like to know stores in plaza if you like to give feedback. Ideal place for commuters who catch public transportation with no access of car I caught train from Jackson Station to downtown Boston stop and walked down to catch red line to porter square 1st time going to that target as supposed to south bay. I will definitely return because there are eateries and other places in the area.
The shops are good and all but the parking lot is a horrid disaster! The spots and lanes are too small and when you try and exit there are brick posts that prevent you from seeing pedestrians walking your way.
It's pretty nice with a bunch of sorted and supermarkets, as well as restaurants. The parking lot it's messy and confusing, makes it hard to navigate either with a car or walking through it. CVS, Target, star market, Dunkin and others.
Good cvs store & pharmacy open 24 hours. Star market open until 12. Very good store and employees. Michaels craft stores is huge. Target and Tags true value. You can get alot done at this mall.
Explored food options in Star Market, large selection of food to include, fresh baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat counter great assortment of goods overall. Starbucks also on store.
I'd give it four stars because its only anchor stores are Star Market and CVS, but I'm grateful to have this strip mall nearby and it has some good shops like Tags/Ace Hardware, Porter Square Books, Cambridge Naturals and A.C. Moore. Definitely convenient to T and buses. Blue Bikes on the other side of Porter Square T station.
This is a great set of stores and a really pretty place to walk around and enjoy the evening. I thought parking would be hard to find, but there were a few empty spots when we visited on a Friday evening. Apparently they are very strict with the two-hour parking rule, although I don't know how they enforce it since we didn't need to get a ticket to park. Can't wait to come back here and explore more!
Extremely useful shopping center with a great selection of stores. Porter Square Books is the obvious highlight, Tags Ace Hardware is really good, plus a great toy store, a natural food store, a Star Market, CVS, and Target. My only quibble is that the parking lot is so large and central, it's not nice to hang out outdoors. Replace all the parking with a park or more stores and I'd be happy.
Porter Square Shopping is exactly what it sounds like. There are pretty good opportunities to find various supplies you might be looking for, from toys at Henry Bears Park, to books, at Porter Square Books (a fantastic independent bookstore), or simply buying your groceries.
If you're looking for a neat place to find cool restaurants, then this isn't the square for you.
Tags, Henry Bears Park, and CVS are the best places here.
Star Market has a great manager who cuts through the insanity from corporate and gets you on your way. And there are bathrooms 🙃 …
Decent amount of shops within this shopping center. Wide array of products and services in a one stop trip to Porter Square. I would certainly recommend visiting Porter Square for any basic shopping needs that one has to get accomplished.
A great town center with a diverse number of shops. This is a great place to spend the day shopping or just soaking in the nice small-town atmosphere. The shopping center can be quite busy on the weekends, but overall, it's a fairly relaxed place in a wonderful setting. I would recommend coming on foot or by bike - cars are discouraged.
Parking can be a bit hard to find here (at least pre-COVID, it hasn't been as hard recently) but there is a reason - there is a wide variety of shops to choose from. If you need to grab a few things to make dinner, Star Market is at the end of the parking lot. Need to pop into CVS or Target? they are on the other end of the parking lot. Have an arts and craft project you need something for? zip into Michaels. There is a local book store, Porter Square Books, a local toy store, Henry Bear Park, Local artist co-op/gallery as well as quick food options and nearby restaurants. And it is right off the T and Commuter Rail.
Great shopping center with various places to visit including Shaws, Duncan Doughnuts, CVS, Chipotle, Tags Hardware Store.
Good place and nice variety of stores and restaurants but if driving,it is hard to get in and out. There’s a two hour parking limit. Now about Star Market. There’s some very rude and shrewd cashiers and those who run the front. Usually more than half the checkout lanes are closed while customers align the aisles waiting to checkout of the few lines that are open. I politely asked once if more could be opened only to be met with rolling eyes and attitude. Management must be very weak here.
Great selection of stores, from cafe shops to hardware. Typically friendly and helpful staff in all stores. Right off the Porter Square T stop with access to various buses, the red line, commuter rail and a large area for parking. Parking is free, usually a tad busy after noon but don't think I've seen a issue with anyone not finding spaces.
Cambridge naturals was a great place to visit.
Star market was very good in the produce area.
I especially enjoy Starbucks iced peach tea.
I love this little shopping center. It’s just such a cute shopping experience!!
A great hardware store, Tags, is here as well as the biggest Michaels I've ever seen. I did some grocery shopping in the Star Market but it didn't seem to carry the same things as other Star Markets. The shopping center has ample free parking and is convenient to public transportation.
Free parking! Easy to get to even if you don't drive. The red line (part of the Boston subway system) has a stop here. It's on a major bus route. There is a grocery store, pharmacy and hardware store here and there are coffee shops, restaurants gyms and other shops all within walking distance.
Very Very conveniently located right next to T stop, it has Michael's for clothes a big Ace hardware store, A liquor shop, a group grocery store Star 🌟 market a Japanese burger 🍔 Place. A very big well maintained parking lot side walks are kept Clean on a snowy day. I recommend it for everyone. …
It's a little strip mall straddling the line between Somerville and Cambridge. It's very vital and busy with lots of great stores and places to eat. Lots of parking. A Star Market, Tags Hardware, a bookstore with cafe, Panera,. and Dunkin among others. A T Station too.
Great restaurants and bars all around. Great book store and hardware store also CVS and Target
So lucky to live close to Porter Square shopping Pedestrian mall. It is accessible through buses and Red Line. For a contained space; it has the best of everything. Cambridge Natural; I have friends coming from distances to find their needs of healthy supplements, herbs ++, with a wonderful knowledgeable staff. The porter Square book shop is an intellectual hub with book readings and activities for all ages. There is a great toy store, Ace hardware, of course a CVS, and the Star Shows super market has an expanding organic fresh produce that completes everything one could ask for in my view.
Overall a nice shopping center with useful stores and usually pretty clean, but consistently not clearing snow from and de-icing the steps down towards CVS/Health Works is just an accident waiting to happen.
I’ve been coming to this shopping center for many years and have seen changes but mostly for the better. I love Tags Hardware because they have something you need. My gym, Healthworks, has been here since the beginning and only moved on the site to a bigger space. Star market is not fancy but it does the trick. There is a liquor store, Panera and Dunks, great independent book store with good coffee in their cafe, ice cream, CVS and more. This is a neighborhood shopping center that actually serves many of our daily needs.
I love this one stop shopping area!! I have been to Michael's...awesome two floors!! There is a tags/ace hardware and the two floors are also amazing ....top floor reminds me of a bed bath and beyond...then second floor has more tools and hardware. Great deals and they have a lot of great prices.
Having a shopping center so close to the city is a great plus. However, if you're trying to drive here on a Saturday or Sunday...don't. The parking lot is very poorly laid out and there just aren't enough spots. The selection of stores is good.
Small shopping plaza which includes a great beer/wine/liquor store, Grocery store, CVS, Crafts & Books stores and a great place to buy kids presents. Parking can be hard right after work (5-7) otherwise it is pretty good.
Great place to go multiple shopping locations for groceries to cvs and a store with art supplies also a dining donuts there also
My other half wanted to stop in for a tasting at Porter Square Wine & Spirits so I figured I'd go into Porter Square Books and get a gift for a friend of mine. They had the book I wanted (Ian S. Port's "The Birth of Loud") and located it for me. There were plenty of possibilities for browsing to distract me from the lengthy wait for the liquor store event, which failed to happen.
This bookstore is a good source and I want it to thrive. I paid $2.47 more than Amazon but avoided the cardboard shipping waste, the delivery truck carbon footprint contribution and I made a microscopic reduction in the Amazon worker abuse machine.
Parking can be a challenge at this glorified strip mall but when we risked it at 6:00p on Black Friday, we didn't have any trouble.
★★★★★ for PSB, ★★☆☆☆ for PSW&S, ★★★★☆ for the shopping center overall.
This is a neat little collection of essentials: bookstore, hardware, bottle shop, craft store, holistic hippie shop, pharmacy, gift store. The parking lot is a freaking zoo, though. Take the bus, train, or your own two feet if you can.
Lots of stores, large parking lot, a 24 hour CVS pharmacy which is good to know if you ever need to pick someone up from the hospital, and it's right at the Porter T-stop. Stores include: Star market grocery store, Tags hardware & housewares, Michaels Arts & Crafts, a liquor store, a bookstore, Panera, Dunkin' Donuts, Healthworks Women's Gym, CVS and a few other odds and ends
This shopping center has everything, an amazing community book store, craft store, supermarket, drug store, reasonable lunch spot, and ice cream parlour. It's also readily accessible from the T and has parking available.
Appreciate this as one of the only places in the Boston area with stress-free, free parking for all the stores. I have never had trouble finding a spot though it is almost always crowded. The Tags hardware store has lots of neat home/kitchen-related things on the first floor, the bookstore is great to browse, and I really like Cambridge Naturals too.
Decent assortment of shops. Bathrooms in dunks and Panera are customer only but there are public gendered ones in the Star Market next to the butcher counter. Parking can be real hard to find especially Monday nights and Sunday afternoons
I really on go to the CVS for the ATM and Star Market for groceries but I will say the lot is clean and parking has NEVER BEEN a problem. I dont need to be the first spot everytime but I do actually get upfront parking often.
This is the most dangerous parking lot on Earth. In order to squeeze in the most cars, each space is smaller and shorter. The turns are tighter. The cars stalking shoppers as they return to their parking spaces are grumpier. And it's still just an over priced grocery store and lightweight hardware store.
Shopping area around Porter Square. There's a good book store in this shopping center that I really recommend checking out. We’ve come here a number of times in order to get some basic foodstuffs or to check out the bookstore. There’s also a Dunkin Donuts in this area too, so you can get your caffeine boost.
It get extremely busy at times, even during the pandemic. Still, it’s a convenient all-in-one place. A good amount of parking as well.
I like going to TAGS and some of the other stores, but the parking is complete mayhem. If you want to park in the lot, be prepared to wait for people to move their cars. They are vigilant about towing cars, so don't park there and walk off or else you'll have to pick it up and pay the towing fee.
Really a great shopping center catering almost all your needs- name it you have it! Supermarket, Hardwares, Books, Pharmacy, Organics Food etc., Mobile service (AT&T), Gifts shop, Vareity of eateries..
And, reasonable parking lot.
All is good here except for the parking lot which is inadequate. I recommend the wine shop and I've been going to gentle dental for over 20 years. Love the herbs at Cambridge Naturals.
This is a great place for getting absolutely anything. Hardware, arts and crafts, banking, food, restaurants, etc.
Nice little square for pretty much all your shopping needs; there's a supermarket, cvs, restaurants, beauty and clothes stores.
I love this shopping center. Great stores, maintained well. Parking can be an issue on a busy day, and spots are narrow (not good if you have a new car) but overall I really like this shopping center.
Has good neighborhood shops. Shaw's is a bit expensive but convenient. Parking enforcement is touch-and-go. I've never had a problem going over the limit, but I know others have. Make sure to check out the bookstore!
A nice little open air shopping plaza that houses amoung others, grocery store, and craft store. The only drawback with this shopping center is that the parking lot spaces are very small and not wide enough.
Solid shopping center with great bookstore & health food store, standard grocery store, nice hardware store, CVS, & Michael's. Parking is a nightmare due to crowds and super narrow parking spots. I almost always walk.
Gets incredibly busy, the parking lot turns into a giant Rubik's cube. The big Star is good, has just about everything in there. Overall, a convenient shopping center.
Go here all the time. Star Market is convenient and the staff is helpful and kind. Michaels is a fun place to shop for all your arts and crafts. I got most of my cross stitch stuff and frames from here. I haven't been in the book store in 8 years or so. Didn't like how it was organised. ( They seem to be doing just fine without my money.) The CVS is 24 hours and easily accessible by car, bus, train, or walking.
Lots of parking property management company maintains this place well, sidewalks are kept clear during snowy and icy times. It would get five stars but every visit includes being approached by pan handlers.
Good spot that has many businesses. I frequently go for last minute groceries, beer runs, hardware, and dry cleaning. It's tough to get a parking spot so be prepared to circle the lot a few times.
The location is convenient for quick shopping visits. There is a Star market, Panera bread, Dunkin donuts, Michaels, CVS, Tags hardware store and many more (including a nice little bookstore+cafe that I don't quite remember the name of)
Excellent service. Needed to get stains off two pairs of trousers. $12 and the pants are clean af. Cash only place, but I'm very happy. They're getting my business.
Cute bookstore and decent food selection. Supermarket also nice size with a Starbucks but they were kind of slow.
Like this small mall because there is a CVS, Walgreens, Michael 's and Shaws Supermarket. Also the Red line, Commuter Rail purple line and many bus locations to commute to many other places.
Good place. The Star Market is a big store with lots of stuff. The CVS is also kind of a big place. There's a Tags Hardware and Dunking Donuts and Panini Bread place there.
Great variety of shopping options .. food, coffee, book store etc
The stores here are fantastic.
Star market: 24 hours… Fantastic.
CVS: 24 hour pharmacy… Fantastic.
Henry Bear's Park: You can buy Lego… Fantastic.
Tags: Too many stairs… Pretty good anyway.
Michaels: Need I say more?
5 stars
Right at the T stop and has a parking lot, but this I wouldn't purposefully drive here since there's not much selection for stores (as opposed to assembly). There are a lot of restaurants around this shopping center, so it's good for dinner or lunch.
How do you evaluate a whole shopping center? It has really great places, like Porter Square Books, and really miserable places, like Dunkin Donuts, and a lot of good-enough-but-not-exciting places, like CVS or Star Market.
Shopping areas Central to transport, bus service, very good and on time .....nice book store and other shop's, also ,it you to be the Rand Estate..
Historical marker at Mass Ave entrance..
Good plaza, star market is dummy expensive tho. Spent like 4 dollars on an orange. Doesn’t feel good
Great little shopping center....fabulous bookstore, fun and well stocked hardware store, eatery or two, and the requisite Dunkin.... plus more!
Good variety of restaurants and shops around. With the train and commuter rail it is great. However parking could be a challenge. Walking distance between the shops and restaurants
I don't have a car and even though I live across the city, the fact that Porter Square is right on the subway line and the mall is amazingly compact, with shops for every necessity makes it well worth the trip.
A strip mall, but the best of strip malls: 24-hour grocery and 24-hour CVS! Independent bookstore allegedly frequented by Neil Gaiman! Actually decent Panera with a basement space for working. Liquor store with great selection of beers. Hippie store, toy store, craft store, hardware store, a dentist (for some reason)... What more do you want?
Good for grocery shopping: star market, csv. There are restaurants but not many. Sometimes parking lot is hot. Overall good for residents nearby.
The Star Market is great!!! Has everything you need for produce, cooked food, and grocery shopping. The T is just across the street so there is easy access.
Good mix of stores, readily accessible by mass transit. The place to go for normal shopping needs on this side of cambridge. Mass transit access excellent... but the parking and traffic patterns are nightmarish.
I love Michael's here, the book store is also not bad. And if you happen to go, go check Baraka café for wonderful Tunisian/Algerian couscous and tea. It's about a 10 minute walk.
Convenient, helpful, nothing quirky or exciting except Sign of the Dove. Check out the new pho and halal places for food
Helpful and friendly service. Not the cheapest place, but that's the entire chain in general and if you're shopping there, you probably already knew that. But the prices are good when they are having a sale, and the quality is constantly good.
Nice
The Porter Square shopping center has some nice offerings, you can get a coffee, a bottle of wine, a book, a kombucha refill, a plush toy and a root canal within a 500 ft radius.
This place gets a little better each year
The fact that there is Free Parking is worth 4 Stars. Other than 1 Co-Op Art Consignment Store (Great Shop, located on the side of the 24 CVS. TAGS Hardware is Fantastic but a bit pricey on certain items. TAG'S does have "The Best Customer Service" when compared to ANY hardware store in a 50 mile radious. So paying a few more bucks is well worth going. There's a great Art Supply Store in the basement of a storefront between Radio Shack and The Huge Star Market. Everything else is Corporate Niche. Stores that are desperatey trying to be "Hip" like the "Panera".
There are mostly restaurants but they serve really good food. The restaurants are mostly asian food and most are pretty much cash only but there is a bank of America ATM. There is also a cute Japanese import shop.
Good shopping options! Michaels, Tags, shaws and the book store are go to favorites. Parking can get kind of intense depending on what time you go!
Great hardware store, great toy store, great book store, and a diverse collection of other shops, all pretty good. Add that it's easily accessible by T and by car, and this is one of my go-to shopping centers.
Just about everything you need is there, but it's all expensive versus some of the other places that aren't too far away. It is super convenient though, which is why I'm there all the time. I'm sure the rent that any of the businesses pay would shock me.
Big plaza with a star market and cvs , they do watch cars so i dont suggest parking and then taking the redline
The man who makes the key copies downstair was very polite and helpful.
Decent enough stores. Very hard to find parking during the day. They watch like hawks to try to tow or ticket you in the daytime.
We call this the 'kitchen sink' t stop - it's not really a spot for going out (other than Cristophers across the way and other Mass Ave restaurants outside the main parking lot) - but it has everything you need - groceries, house repair stuff , pharmacy, craft supplies, Dunkin donuts. A mockingbird usually lives in the nearby trees and likes hanging out around the air currents of the vents above the grocery store, so that's good.
Love this place lowkey
The coffee shop inside the bookstore is really good actually
Has a great 24/7 supermarket. And a good home and hardware store. So with a few min walk you can get all your day to day needs
Good variety of stores. Chains and private stores. I love Cambridge Naturals
Good variety of shops altho i mainly go there for Cambridge Naturals where you can find a great selection of healthy dietary and hygienic products
"MALL" is a DRASTICALLY unnecessary overstatement!!! It's wwaaaayyy too BLAND for that. More like a Shopping Center. Fits perfectly: Clean, Quiet, Dull. Food, Drinks and CVS are really all you'll even find
Porter Square Books is wonderful, check it out for a real-live bookstore and coffee joint. Other notable is the Ace Hardware, which had a surprising selection of stuff for apartment or dorm room.
Best place to shopping CVS 24 hr pharmacy and Star Market stays open longer then other stores Markets
Great variety in shops, but no one knows how to drive in the parking lot or return their carriages
Great products including many I've never been exposed to! Their bulk section is amazing....definitely beats my local spot.
Good craft score.
Good variety of stores. Having its own parking lot definitely helps.
My personal favorites are the bookstore and TAG Hardware.
Got everything you need for a real life plus one of the few remaining GREAT bookstores and TAGS best hardware / homegoods store save Masse in N. Camb. The at a glance is completely inaccurate-none except book signings were ever at the shopping center and Jennifer Convertibles is closed. Caution-Shaw's has great food but is 30-40% more expensive than Market Basket down the street a mile.
Free parking, Close to tube station, Never miss Star Market and Porters Books. I take the opportunity to walk 5 minutes to Darul Kabab for bufet lunch at $12.99.
Very nice, lot's of stores. When the weather is nice many are out and enjoying this spot.
Tags is my favorite local hardware store Ever !!!
Mike Pessin
Convenient with 24 hr CVS and Star Market. Cambridge Naturals, Michaels and Ace Hardware. DD, Panera.
Patrons and employees can be uppity and a bit rude, its worth ignoring due to convenience and interesting local businesses.
The hardware at ace hardware is downstairs. Just in case you get confused when you walk in, I did.
I loved the casual easy ambience. A good book shop Star and CVS. Plus Pasera breads makes an inviting place.
Probably a lot has changed. In my time, it was a student and recent grad area. Could go for groceries and buy some basic household items, hardware items and furniture here. Close to transit and restaurants.
Always enjoy shopping at Porter Sq. CVS, Target, Shaw's, Porter Sq Spirits (good pricing) and Tag's hardware.
So Convenient area in Porter Sq. , You can continues shopping from store to store to get any thing you want like groceries , medicine , crafts store etc. This place close to bus and subway station also :) . But won’t forget bring your shopping bag with you cause in Cambridge area they charge you 10 cents for baggie :) have fun !!
Indie bookstore, hardware, craft store, natural goods store, liquor store, grocery DD, Panera, CVS, pottery artisans, nearby Asian, Indian, Mexican food. Ok, so no clothing store...but really, has everything else.
Great one-stop local shopping center. Groceries, pharmacy, hardware, books, gifts, fast service restaurants, crafts and more.
Had a sign up for Ben & Jerry's, but there wasn't a location inside of it.
Lots of Interesting independent local green shops and restaurant around this place.
They've got everything: ATMs, parking, a couple of gift shops, a hardware store, a bookstore, a liquor store, a couple of places to get to get coffee and a place to get ice cream. Also, a new Target Express.
Good selection of stores. Overly crowded parking lot and they really need to reign in the number of cabs that they allow at the cab stand. It impedes traffic.
A couple laundry/dry cleaning options, a liquor store with a superb collection, a 24-hour convenience store with a 24-hour pharmacy, an arts & crafts store, a hardware and home good store, and a 24-hour grocery store - what else can you ask for?
It's a tiny universe of Japanese and south east Asian cuisines! I felt transported to the Tokyo station underground eating area when I visited. Sapporo Ramen has a long line typically, so both the places adjacent to it get crowds - and well deservedly so! Try chicken curry rice with egg at Tampopo.
The 2 entrances are between Tags Hardware and Star Market
Living by here is so useful! There's a T stop at the square, and you can find a hardware store, liquor store, and a grocery store! I stop here all the time to grab stuff on my way home
I love this place because it has most everything I need. Groceries, toys, liquor, books, hardware, crafts, and Cambridge Naturals where I get my cooking spices.
I love this place because not only does is smell amazing but there are a lot of options for sitting down and eating, I'm still trying to pin point my favorite but update
I like porter square shopping center its cool convenient i just moved to this neighborhood learning about where i can get everything i need the target in the area is awesome
Not open 24 hours anymore. 6am to 12am now. CVS is the same plaza is still 24 hrs.
Got takeout from Cafe Mami. Food was great. They gave been consistently good for a long time.
Panera here is great. CVS has friendly, helpful staff, and is open 24hrs. Great little shopping center.
It's got stores for everything you need during the day and has a cool skateboarding scene at night.
Good selection of shops but parking during busy hours can be a huge pain. Don't park here if you're not going to the shops, they will ticket and tow.
Parking lot is Dangerous, not well thought out. TAG'S HARDWARE is a must stop. Great Selection and Super Helpful Staff.
There is a spot for coffee, lunch, but a book our just look through them while eating and there ours a craft store and cvs..so much to do in that one spot!
Went to the cambridge savings bank with an issue, made an appointment and it was within an hour! All got figured out for me. Great group of folks
Easy to park. Lots of stores to choose from.
Convenient, not easy to find a parking spot.
Everything you could need (groceries, books, toys, hardware, craft supplies, beer/liquor/wine, pharmacy), all in one convenient location. With parking.
Brand new target, small and unique, even has groceries, very clean. Plaza has just about anything you can think of.
For a strip mall anchored by the Star Market for which it was built in the 1950's, very good mix of mostly local stores (particularly Tags/Ace Hardware).
A convenient mix of shops with a 24 hour grocery store and CVS, and a free parking lot (if I remember correctly).
Might look like a bookstore in a strip mall, but don't be deceived, this place is great--very well layed out and great selection, plus tons of signings and a great (albeit cash only) coffee bar make for a great independent bookstore!
We stopped in on a Saturday in this place was busy took us about 15 minutes to find a parking space. Lot of nice little shops around.
Feels more like Main Street, less like a mall, and that's a good thing. Not inundated with chains, everyone knows each other, very local and convenient.
Another great place for last minute shopping. There's a CVS, Ace Hardware, Star Market, and more importantly Michaels!
Gravestar maintains two EV chargers here where travelers can charge overnight. Thank you Gravestar!
Shops are great, parking spots and aisles are super narrow
Living near porter square for last 2 years and the porter square shopping zone has been a huge plus in the life quality in this area
Great place! Parking is tight though
I had not been here in over 10 years. It was to see what stores were still there. Memories. Nice.
Has got the bases covered: grocery, pharmacy, and hardware store. All directly on a subway stop. A bookstore and premium ice cream parlour are icing on the cake.
Great place to shop, easy access to the rail/subway/bus system and everything you need in one place.
Love the shops! Porter Square Books is a gem! The only downside is the parking. It gets crowded.
It's a strip mall, basically, but it does have some fun stores you likely won't regret visiting.
I charge there - and they have just about all you need.
This place has a lot of shops which I like but the only issue is the parking, or lack thereof. Normally you gotta hunt for a space before you can find one.
Parking can be challenging at some times, but a good variety of stores, particularly Tags Hardware.
Star market here is one of the best. Dunkin and CVS are absolute rubbish, tho. Especially the Dunkin. Worse in town.
CVS, TAGS Hardware, Cambridge Naturals, Porter Sq Books, Michael's and more in this plaza. One stop shopping for all of your needs!
Utility-type mall, although they do have a book store and a natural products store. The parking lot is not easily navigable.
GREAT LOCATION, USUALLY PARKING IS AVA.( NOT 4 NERVOUS OR BAD DRIVERS THOUGH). FANTASTIC ASSORTED BUSINESSES !
Good place to shop as there is parking. Hard to say for most places in Cambridge.
Nice little shopping plaza. A few brand name stores in this location. I like the book store with the coffee shop.
Love Porter Square shopping center. So many stores to choose from for your every day needs.❤
Nice mall where you have access to all the grocery and other household necessities. Lots if variety
Pretty good for finding basic needs from hardware store to supermarket and pharmacy.
Good parking option. Park there for free and check out the local shops, you can stay for two hours.
Place is very accessible and most of the time parking is Not a problem.
Aa big parking lot, but the stores around it at good, awesome restaurants, and a really great bookstore
Parking is absolutely the worst. Unless it's before noon on a weekday. All the shops are efficient.
I am happy with this super market.lately they have been giving alot of discount on their produce..exspecially in the evening
I live 5 minutes walk away. Nearby is Porter T-station, Star market, and my favorite Porter Bookstore. "Little Tokyo" is 2 minutes walk away in Porter Exchange.
bunch of stores, dunkins, target, dunking,, hardware, Michaels, liquor store really expensive, and hot woman
Lots of different places to shop and great service at all of them.
This is a great place with great things, but the parking makes it feel like a strip mall. The trees are making progress in helping with this, though.
shops are clean, the business owners aren't nosey, I had attended a bible study in the basement of a panera bread in the mall
I'm addicted to Cambridge Naturals, ever since discovering this place I have made many natural remedies..my favorite is the Chaga detox. Treat yourself to something natural.
Great place when you need something @2 in morning. Star market & CVS are 24h
Its alright , Unless you have BETTER options , Its an annoying parking situation , difficulty with traffic ALL THE TIME
Very nice shopping center with the right mix of shops. Easy access from the main drag.
This is a very convenient shopping center that has a vide variety of different shops and businesses.
If you're around the Spring Hill area then this is your best bet for picking up last minute items or need-it-now fair.
A great spot for most of your shopping needs. Especially great when Target opens.
Just discovered the 24hr star market here, what a drive saver, at 230am finding a 24hr supermarket would have taken me to walpole Walmart.
Great little mall, has everything including Michaels, Star Market, Dunkin Donuts, and CVS.
Great location and I love all the varieties of stores and restaurants
They have delicious food at Anna's. There's an interesting looking sushi place there too.
Easy access by foot or by T for CVS, Star Market, hardware goods, books, art supplies, or natural health goods.
The ramen at Yume Wo Katare is amazing. Don't forget to get some of their special garlic!
Conveniently located with plenty of parking and a variety of shops.
Great little mall with a nice bookshop/cafe, a hardware store, a supermarket and many other stores. Right by the Porter Square stop on the redline.
Beside parking everything is good here. At times it gets very busy that they have no parking.
First time to go into Porter square books. I have the customer service & the interior.🥰😍 …
Several very good stores here--good access& parking
Easy to get there by train buss also they have a lot parking space even when it's a busy place
Nice place with 2 hour parking a few stores/quick bite places. Ok mall
Pretty good shopping plaza - hardware store and Panera, and CVS and Dunk's. Good basics.
Love that this ⭐ Star Market stays open until 12 midnight
Very awkward to get in and out of the parking lot - and rather tight. Gotta pay attention in this place.
Parking here can be difficult at times because of the T stop. At peak times cars circle the lot looking for parking for the grocery store
There are a bunch of good stores here, but never any parking.
I love the super small parking spaces. Jk, ace hardware is the only place worth it
Pros: Has a grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy, and book store/coffee shop.
Cons: Parking lot is a disaster.
Always plenty of parking and good caerity of stores
My go-to hardware houseware store. Find everything you need for summer time deck parties.
Parking here sucks big-time!! Shops are great though!
Convenient place with CVS, Michael's and star market in a single location with parking
There is a Panera, Tags Hardware, Shaw's supermarket, Dunkin Donuts and Cambridge Naturals among other stores.
Quick and easy better then waiting at other stores.
CVS, tags, Michael's, groceries, book, coffee, booze, toys, and more! This plaza is awesome!
This shopping center has the right mix of humanity: townies, academics, street folks. Everyone getting along, nice!
Easy parking great restaurants close by
Has a 24/7 CVS and Stop and Shop. Is a short hop away from Davis. What more could one ask for?
The parking lot is a mess at rush hour. Otherwise, quite a nice place to shop.
Convenient and had everything we were looking for..Including a wonderful toy store
Nice shopping center with a good selection of stores and free parking.
Great cakes parking lot is always full and can be hard to maneuver
Great place to find a few if not many things
The parking lot is usually packed, so you might have to circle around for a minute or two before finding a spot.
Awesome shops CVS and Dunkin always a plus
Always Friendly Visit , I Use Redline From Harvard Square .. Thank Yin's 4 Always Being Helpful ~ DJ ~
Porter Square is a BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO VISITE.

Just be careful at the MBTA for some reason I'm always tripping and falling on their granite steps outside when I'm leaving!
One stop shop for most things you need -- coffee, groceries, alcohol, books, dry cleaning, hardware supplies.
Fun place with. TAGS,, the book store and lots of other good places. Also on the T and Commuter rail
Really nice place to shop.

I come here frequently for the vast options there are (for the area). If I didn't live here I would not find a reason to come here but I'm glad it is.

Great store diversity and quality. All your needs in one complex.
My favorite place to eat Japanese hamburger... Cafe Mami... Is the place to try one of the most famous Japanese food...

Solid shopping center with all the essentials: grocery store, CVS, hardware store, liquor store, ice cream, Panera, etc.
Love tags hardware. They always have what I need at great prices!
I like, beautiful and good prices!
Best part of waiting in line at Yume wo Katare is the rest of the shops here.
