We discovered Shirley’s during the pandemic and it was an amazing. Up until the pandemic I believe they were only a catering business and they decided to do takeout to survive. The food is delicious. We have been eating Indian food for quite a few years and Shirley’s is hands down our favorite. Always fresh cooked, flavorful, plentiful and very reasonably priced.

This is not chicken dum biryani, which is what I requested when I ordered. Location is difficult to find because there is no entry. It’s on the side of a building and they only serve through the window. It’s NY, so I’m okay with that. They definitely need a sidewalk sign to direct new patrons to their location. MY COMMENT TO OWNERS REPLY: I’ve eaten dum biryani in Chengannur, Kerala, India I didn’t have a menu. I found you on Google and called and asked for chicken dum biryani. I appreciate your reply though and will try something different next time that is on the menu.

Great food. Better than Coromandel and a better value. The tandoori chicken was moist and superb and I loved the curry sauce although the goat was a little chewy. Get some extra mint sauce. Prompt and excellent delivery.

Shirley's India has the most authentic food. I am south Indian and frequent this restaurant. My favorite entree is the Kerala fish curry. They have an incredible menu and the service is friendly!! Be prepared to indulge in the hot and savory spiced dishes.

Good authentic indian food. When I'm in the neighborhood I always order from Shiley’s. The flavor never disappoints.

FOOD IS AMAZING - Loaded with flavor and not too spicy. Has the perfect kick. When I ordered online, it said it would take an hour but they had my order ready within 30 minutes which was great. I will definitely come back for more.

The food is delicious, affordable and Shirley and staff have a very polite and pleasant demeanor and personality. They will adjust the level of spice (heat wise) to your liking because there are dishes that are spicy and some that are not. You just have to ask or read from their menu about the details of their food but they will adjust it to your liking. I have not ever had an issue with them or their food. Their food is always freshly made(which is why it will take some time. My order usually is done in 30 mins and I love it. This is definitely a go to place to pick up your food.

Officially my new go to Indian restaurant. My order was so yummy and delicious. I tried one of their butter chicken empanadas and the dough was perfectly fried. The filling was tasty and cheesy and all kinds of good. The chicken tikka masala was the best I’ve had in a long time. I could eat their stir fry shrimp wrap everyday. So good! Also everything was packaged so well. This place is a must try!

These guys are always holdin' it down with top notch Indian food. Not only that but they are creative and innovative especially with the empanadas and stuff. Anyway, DO NOT listen to these idiots with their bad reviews b/c they hating. If you want authentic indian food, order from these guys, you wont be disappointed GUARANTEED

Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had. I have eaten Indian food in Florida, Georgia and different restaurants in New York but this restaurant gets it right every time. The chicken or shrimp tikka Masala is my absolute favorite. I have spent so much people at the restaurant, I should have shares in the business. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Wish I could take them everywhere I go. 😁

Excellent chicken 65 and shrimp wraps. Havent had anything so good anywhere else. So first five star. Masala dosa was excellent too. I had it in different places but here it did not create any heartburn. So second five star. There is no dine in. Try to have masala dosa there itself. I had it in my car. They were kind enough to serve it in a tray. Excellent customer service. So third five star. Samosa was good too. Parking is available opposite Shirley's. Order atleat 45 mts in advance. I live in Rockland which is 45 mts away. The food is worth the travel. For $50 a family of 5 can easily have good quality tasty food. Take the food to Glen Island Park which is 5 to 6 minutes away and have a wonderful family picnic. Waiting to go there to have calamari, goat biriyani , chilly chicken, chicken 65 with the desert.

Have tried this for takeout twice now! New Rochelle / Westchester doesn't have too many good Indian places in general so I am adjusting the review to match that expectation. First time we ordered the boxes: It is good for a single meal with variety - I appreciated the large quantity of fluffy basmati rice and veggie side dish, but the actual entree size is small (like 1 scoop?) And the naan was just 5-6 chopped small pieces. Second time ordered the actual entrees. Serving sizes were larger but there wasn't enough rice to cover 2 entrees! A bit surprised as another Indian place in the area gives way more than enough rice. In terms of specific food items the Kerala fish curry is very good (better than many places i've had in NYC), paneer is OK and lamb was a bit underwhelming. The breads were good but became cold with takeout.

Really really enjoyed Shirley's on my recent food tour! It is hard to find good Indian food in this city, but this place was pretty darn good! We had the pappadum and samosas to start and they were both SO good. The pappadum was perfectly cooked and crunchy. I got the chicken tikka for dinner and the chicken was perfectly cooked with perfect touch of spices. Full of flavor and cut so easily. My friends all got curries and loved their curries as well. This is one Indian restaurant in the city I would definitely return to! Great customer service!!

Our family tried Shirleys for the first time a couple days ago and we were blown away! The South Indian menu offers some different and delicious tastes from typical Indian restaurants. Everything we had was great but the Chicken 65 was a standout!! Cant believe we didn’t know about Shirleys all the years we have lived in New Ro but we will be regular customers going forward.

The food was great!! The Tikka chicken wrap with the "not mint" sauce was amazing. The Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala was also Really good!! . Lots of flavor. Although for the price I felt like it should have come with naan. Ask for a menu when you get there because what's advertised in the window are what's called Boxes. These are different than the meals that can feed at least 2 people. This is not a sit down and eat place. I highly recommend to give it a try!! Oh and you MUST try the Lassi smoothies!! Omg delicious. Shirley provided great service and was very warm and kind. I hope she is successful there. Please support small businesses!! Will be returning soon. 🙏

Even with the current circumstances, Shirley’s was able to cater to-go platters for all those attending a socially distant funeral today. Not a single morsel was left to waste of their South Indian cuisine, as it was so delicious! The family was most appreciative

Honestly the food was so delicious. It was like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The delivery may have taken long but SO WORTH IT. I got the chicken tikka masala, chilli chicken and chicken manchurian. The tikka masala was by far my favorite. The mango lassi was also so delicious.

I love Shirleys place they make the best indian food at a great price. I would watch out for the fish moodlie tho, I was not expecting bones in the fish and almost choked. The bones were small, sharp, and flat. Great place but watch out for the moodlie

Randomly found Shirleys while searching for food via Google. Read the reviews and decided to take a walk to check it out. There was a line there so I KNEW the food had to be good! I ordered the fish curry box, veggie samosas and garlic naan. The wait for the food was 30mins so if you're impatient order online to get your pickup time. I had time and didn't mind the wait. I spoke to the owner who is very nice as I am new to the area and wanted a little background on the restaurant. I had tried another Indian restaurant not too far from his and wasn't happy with the food at all. WELL! I have only taken a couple of bites from everything and it is SSSSSSSSOOOO GOOOOOD!! Fish curry is one of my favorites dishes so getting home and to taste and love it is a plus. Everything is really good. I'll be back for sure.

Where to start! OMG! All the food is amazing from the samosas [highly recommend for every meal lol] to all the dishes, everything is perfect! The dishes are superb from the vegetarian to the meat options. Everything is perfectly cooked and never ceases to amaze us. Hands down the best Indian food in my honest opinion. Meals are made with love and it shows! Shirley’s throws it down and throws it down well! Highly recommend! I have also done catering through them for parties and work events and they are always a hit and the first to run out! Stop reading this review and place your order! You will not be disappointed!

Food has been very consistent from here as of late...my go to dishes are beef fry ( better than the beef curry) and the egg fried rice...The chilli chicken was pretty good, but not great in my opinion.

This was my first time ordering from Shirley's, but it is definitely not my last. The food was perfect and the service outstanding. I'm so happy to have finally visited Shirley's and I can't wait to try other items from their extensive menu, and to tell all my friends about this wonderful place. Update: Shirley's is still the best Indian food around. We're constantly trying new items from their menu and have not been disappointed. Their customer service is outstanding. They called me after I placed a recent order just to confirm because it was different from my usual order. I mean, come on! Who does that? They are just the best. And, you have to admit, their unique location just makes them one of New Rochelle's best kept secrets that everyone needs to discover. Update Update. I'm still a loyal customer. I love Shirley's and have introduced so many of my friends to this place. When I visit my son outside of Rochester NY, I bring food from Shirley's! Order directly from their website and anticipate an hour before pick up. This is really the best Indian food!
