It was an incredible surprise to try this place! The owner is very attentive and kind, going around the tables greeting customers. Also, the staff is very friendly and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is authentic homemade Italian, just delicious. They have a good selection of dishes. We had an incredible experience and surely will come back again.

This is a truly amazing place that I’ve been going to for many years! We’d like to go there with our retirees group, and they treat us like family and serve us family style! The owner always comes over to see how we’re doing and he is a true gentleman!

This place it's awesome! They have paper straws, they keeping a booth empty in between to keep the social distance, the music was soft so you can speak and the food it's delicious. The personal pizza don't know why it tasted a little salty for my taste.

Although I've been here a couple of years ago, a coworker recommended I visit this place. The first visit I ordered lasagña and it was deliciois, the second visit I ordered pene Ala vodka with grilled chicken I was amazed at how great it was. The pasta was perfected and the vodka sauce was delicious. I We finished our food and the waiter comes to our table with more food. I told him we just finished eating. The waiter looked confused and went back to the kitchen with his hands full, on one hand he had like 3 plates and on the other one plate. The waiter went back to the kitchen to clarify what table the food belong to. The waiter holding all those plates and keeping that food steady was impressive. I would definitely come back.

This place is always consistent with their pizza. This day hubby said he felt it was better than ever. I always find it delicious. It's a great place to stop by if you're in the area. The salad wasnt well presented but it was good & all I used was oil, vinegar, salt & pepper. There was this amazing smell of fresh garlic (cooking) and when we were leaving I mentioned it to the cashier, who is directly opposite the kitchen window, & she told me that they had just made some focaccia. I should have ordered some to go, darn it. I had ordered a Shirley Temple & the waiter at least asked me if I wanted Sprite or Seltzer. In another place they just fixed it with seltzer water or ckub soda which wasnt good at all. We decided this would start being our go to for pizza instead of another place. We have several places to go & this will replace 1 of those.

Been coming here for years. This place has amazing pasta!!! I always find it hard to choose between fettuccine Alfredo or pasta a la vodka. This time I choose vodka. So bomb and saucy!! My moms bc got a Caesar salad. Big and tasty. Bread of course was yummy. I didn’t give it 5 stars bc our server was kinda wack. Nonetheless bomb food!

I had the best Shrimp Fra Diavlo over Spaghetti ever and I have dined at some of the best Italian restaurants in the tri state area. Love the Bruschetta and grilled Lobster Tail. Prices are very reasonable. 👍

The guys from the cigar lounge I go to recommend this Italian restauran, I entered and was welcomed and I took a look at the menu and they didn’t have what I was looking for; one gentleman said I have them make it for you and also informed me of a bit of a wait and I agreed to the time and was nice enough to put the order in for me and was very inviting to this restaurant. I have no doubt I’ll be returning to this establishment.

Very dangerous walkway and ramps are uneven. No lighting and unsafe for anyone with walking issues...I was JUST THERE. The food was great. But the ramp on the side by the furniture store is crazy and multilevel. The ramp on the side by the outdoor patio had zero lighting. I was JUST there ....it was too dark. Period. Fix it.

My wife and I went there yesterday. We got a mussels marinara, penne vodka, a mini pizza and some wine. I liked my penne vodka just fine, but it wasn't anything to really write home about, and the portions were a little small for what I paid. My wife was happier with her mussels marinara, a much fairer portion. The pizza was actually really good. We were definitely hit with some sticker shock at the $90 bill though after all was said and done. The wait staff were very polite and attentive. This was a good experience, but unfortunately I don't think that I'll be returning because the prices are just cranked way too high.

Full disclosure? I took my kids here almost weekly for years. So, I have a soft spot for this place. They pile on the cheese and toppings on pizzas. Their food is consistently good. Is it special or out of this world? No, but it’s like classic, in the neighborhood Italian food that is very comforting. Just went again with my niece and nephews recently and they gave us a pitcher of “water” with some Sprite mixed in. My brother in law was grossed out - thinking they didn’t clean it but it’s just the same pump for the Sprite and the water. Will stuff like that happen here? Yeah. Is the food still tasty Italian comfort food? Yeah. Are the prices reasonable? Yeah. Staff friendly? Yeah. It’s not the French Laundry but I’ll be back.

Nice place. Went in for a drink with my coworker. We had appetizers. Highly recommend the fried ravioli and crab cakes. You can also get pizza by the slice. Have every intention of going back with friends. If u go for a drink, Carla will take good care of you. She makes a great martini!

Always enjoy the food some of the best Italian food around. My family has been going there for over 30 years. Just went tonight and found out they charge 4% for credit card purchases like other restaurants do now so unfortunately we have to find another place for Italian food. Our bills are never cheap and to add 4% on top is just outrageous. I get restaurants are suffering but reduce overhead somehow and not always make the consumer pay or they’ll find other places. Hope they reconsider this extra fee.

Pizza beat opened its doors in 1977 and has been feeding people for 42 years. It's very good Southern Italian cuisine and good pizza as well. My mother and I just had a great salad and a pizza with sausage, meatballs and pepperoni. The service was absolutely fantastic. The place was filled with neighborhood people. There's a waitress that's been working there for over 25 years and the rest of the staff is very young. It's not the original owners anymore, however the standard of excellence of years ago is still apparent. My mother and I highly recommend you going and enjoying the pizza here and the salads. They have an excellent menu to choose from and specials everyday. I must admit they are pricey, so take a wallet full of money!.

Given the various shortages they were able service us pretty well. Food is good and reasonably priced. There is heated outdoor dining, not sure what the temperatures are like no one was dining outdoors the day we were there.

Pizza Beat always has very good traditional Italian food. I had the chicken scarpariella and my friend had the broiled flounder. Both were excellent. Also, fried zucchini sticks appetizer which was also very good. And staff, very pleasant and attentive.

A little disappointed. We went with the outdoor dining option. They had built a platform over parking lot. Great idea. However, They cleaned the table with the same rag they used before. Not enough cleaning during this time. The menu was the same plastic one and we had no idea if they cleaned that off either. The worst was that the waiter and the cashier had their masks under their noses. Food was excellent but not sure if I’ll go back any time soon.

Ordered take out. This used to be my go to place. Found others but came back for my dish. Sadly service for takeout wasn't as friendly and food was soggy. I ordered the eggplant and chicken parm. All was good except the eggplant was under seasoned and soggy. I'll make my own with basil like I do and salt it before frying like I always do. It was hot and I didn't want to do it that day and had to satisfy my craving. Unfortunately this place I used to swear by let me down 2 times within the 3 yrs I ventured to it twice..first time after a long time I came here for my birthday. The waiter was challenged which I am all for but the food then wasnt great. Thought I'd give them another chance 2 yrs later and not better. Maybe it's what you like and order. I used to buy my friends plates from here too just to save them a long day from work and not having to cook. Not anymore. Last place in Yonkers for me!

Reading the negative reviews regarding wait times, outdoor “experience” with flies/bees, and views of the staffs service is absolutely disgusting. WE ARE STILL IN A PANDEMIC PEOPLE! This restaurant is the only restaurant that has put their time and effort on working around the present circumstances. Don’t like flies and bees roaming around outdoor dining? DINE INDOOR. How about ordering take-out? Don’t take it out on the staff over one bee that you could’ve easily flung away. Two years of eating in and ordering out from Pizza Beat and it never disappoints. Caring and attentive staff. Excellent QUALITY Italian food ❤️ The staff is working hard and risking their lives to give us excellent service. We are not back to normal life! Have sympathy.

My son's favorite,so it's his birthday choice. Food is good,not outstanding in my opinion. Staff is nice but service is slow. It would be nice to give a slice of cake when celebrating a birthday. Last year they actually charged 8 bucks for a slice of chocolate cake. I skipped it this year. Most restaurants usually do this gratis!

Great local Italian American restaurant. Large restaurant easily seen from Central Ave. Plenty of tables, have never had a long wait. Love the decor, not pretentious. Food can be ordered as family style platters and pizzas or individual dishes, all very reasonably priced especially when compared to other restaurants in the area. Love coming in with friends and sharing a large platter, have not been disappointed. Remember coming here for a friends birthday maybe twenty years ago and only recently returned when looking for something different.

Went in here with my friend, his wife and child. Had a great evening. I love the old diner style booth seating, but if that's not your thing, they also have tables with chairs around the place as well. The staff was supper friendly and accommodating. The owner came over and talked to us and helped with the waiter as he was serving us. Very friendly. Really enjoyed my stay and will definitely stop by next time in the neighborhood. It's a very nice Italian restaurant that you must stop by.

Good place if you want to go out with your family after shopping and eat in quiet atmosphere. Giving it 4 stars because they cook pretty slow. It takes about 15 minutes to get your food. Garlic knots and appetizers are very good and portions of main meals are super huge. Seafood is average so I'd suggest to get some meat.

A hidden gem on Central Avenue. Greeted by the host and shown to aa perfect table. Family friendly. A large dining room with high ceilings, iconic wall prints, big screen TVs, and comfortable seating. Extensive menu, large portions, wine by the glass, great selection of desserts. All reasonably priced. Most Impressive is the impeccable attentive and friendly service. Covid compliant makes for a truly enjoyable and safe dinimg experience. Check it out!

This is an old school family Italian restaurant. This is great for large parties or for the kids, nothing formal here but just good solid Italian food decently priced it's been the same owners for the last 20-30 years everything's made fresh and the portions are very large and the prices are very very reasonable I highly recommend coming here if you need to take out a large crowd and an affordable price. This is not the best Italian restaurant in the area but it is adequate

Pizza Beat is a great place to eat pizza. They have different things on the menu that may be good but we know that they're pizza is always on point. We've been going here since "88" and always pleased with the quality, texture and deliciousness of their pizza. Whenever we're in the neighborhood we will definitely be back. I forgot my phone on this visit because we were running errands & had no plans of stopping here. I will definitely get pictures on my next visit.

To the people writing negative reviews saying others who like this place don't know " good Italian food", you obviously DO NOT know how to rate places in the category in which a restaurant resides. Pizza beat is not some high end Italian spot like Enzos, or many of the Arthur Ave Restaurants or Raos, or Sergio etc. Pizza beat is an eatery like T&J in Porchester, or Pelham Pizza in Pelham, they all fall into a category of Italian eatery, casual. These types of places have good food large portions for a decent price. And in that category Pizza beat does very well.

The head chef Miguel has been with Pizza Beat many years learning under the former head chef Thomas. Their concept is simple-good quality food and be consistent every time you serve the same dish. My two favorite dishes that are a must are the Mussels Fra- Divalo and Chicken Marsala. I must admit I have tried everything on the menu and it is all good. Equal to the food is the service.

PizzAbeat is my go to place been going There for 33 years they have great lunch menu with great prices.we also enjoy Friday night dinner there but most of all they have a great sangria drink Its a warm friendly atmosphere staff very accomodating. The new owner Miguel is doing a wonderful job with all the upgrades Absolutely worth going to for lunch or dinner and he even caters parties.

This place is good for take out. They can accommodate large groups. Parking is not a problem. The pizza is pretty good and a couple of their signature dishes like chicken marsala and chicken francese are also good choices.

I placed a small catering order ( 1 lg tray of chicken alfredo; 1 lg tray of chicken penne a la vodka; order of ceaser salad and requested the order be ready for 3:30 p/u as I wanted it as hot as possible for the gathering and from the neat packaging of the trays to the absolutely delicious food and extra alfredo & vodka sauce w/ all the trimmings EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! Nicely done. Great food at a good price with great customer service. Thank you Pizza Beat!!!!!
