So I almost didn't go 🙃 What made me go was their amazing unique vegan options. Family day, arrived and was greeted by a wonderful father figure and everyone that worked there was PLEASANT and accommodating. We started with the sunrise for our drinks and agreed it was the best mimosa blend ever😇. I had the brown stew broccoli, was happy and next time would ask for more sauce. My little baby ate so much of it😋😋😋 The callaloo was seasoned nice.. dawta had escovitch whiting and actually ate all of it. We ordered food to bring home. We loved it there. They r working on making the place better and we Look forward to returning❤❤

Excellent food and never disappoints even though it’s more expensive than other local restaurants. Their oxtail & jerk chicken is amazing. Their sweet potatoes is like dessert.

The staff very professional and courtesy. The food was really seasoned and seasoned well. Price to portion ratio excellent. The fried fish, fried shrimp, collard greens, string beans, butter beans, corn, and cornbread was very pleased. The only downside is parking. Please don't sleep on Flavas Kitchen & Catering the best restaurant in Mount Vernon and better yet the best soul food restaurant in the region.

ALWAYS good and consistent!! You ask for a lot of gravy? They give you lots of gravy. You ask for thighs and no breast? They give you thighs and no breast. You want oxtail? Ohhh they give you oxtail! Their service is kind and respectful as well. I can't say ANYTHING bad about them... They are definitely what you look for in a Jamaican/Soul food restaurant. Good portions and good tasting food.

Nice portions. Best oxtails I've had in BX. I had to come back because like I told my wife, it's not often any Jamaican place makes oxtails consistently well over the course of YEARS. In the beginning the portions were amazing & food was on point. Our favorite server Diane seemed to go on vacay but told us not to stop coming like we planned to. In any event, we have been there 3 times since, one of which we asked for her & the younger girls up front were very rude & said she's on an extended leave. I wish I would've known. Two days ago, an older man was serving us. Still mostly fat on the oxtails & the peas made me sick. If you dont eat them right away they have a spoiled taste to them as if they sat too long. All in all. My wife & I spend atleast $60-70 per visit. We will take that elsewhere. The quality of food & service has declined. Thanks for the good times.

My son loves to eat here. He took me here and I have to say the food looked good. This review is on his behalf considering he doesn't do reviews but I did check his platter out and I have to say they gave him alot of food. When I come to the area again I will make sure I don't eat and purchase a platter of food and I will come back and give my personal review

9/20/22 Flavas in Mt. Vernon, NY has CONSISTENTLY fresh and very tasty food.😋 Within the past year, I have eaten their chicken soup (no chicken feet in it, thankfully😃), as well as their oxtails (I get this with collard greens, and candied yams) and their curried goat (I get this with potato salad and string/green beans). ALL are delicious, and the food is well-packaged for take out. Keep up the great work, Flavas! 👍🏽👏🏽

Food was delicious, only drawback was i called to place my order to later pick-up and they did not accept orders by phone. Only choice was to do it online on their site or come in person and order, i guess because they run out, but because of this when ordering a fried king fish i had to wait 20mins extra to get my order which i was trying ot avoid when calling. But food was plenty and very good and i was in and out. Recommend the rasta pasta n mac n cheese n candied yams and oxtail

Love this place! Although a bit pricey it's worth it from time to time. Great tasting Caribbean food, generous portions and great quality products used. They also have really nice people working there. Currently still no eating inside and social distancing due to Covid.

Long time coming but made it here. Had chicken soup. Delicious! Ordered veggie plate that had rice with oxtail gravy, greens and yams. Rice was hard, gravy was from bottom of pot with chard pieces. Yams and greens were good.

This is some of the freshest most delicious most filling food I’ve had. I frequent this restaurant and every time I am satisfied energized and treated so well by no matter who the associate is. They treat every one fairly no mater if there delivery or take out. It’s so great to always come here and know the food the service and the ambiance will be the same . Great job chefs and good job management and staff for always keeping the good people fed!

Great bang for your buck. The lunch specials are great deals and so are the dinner options. 1 meat + 1 carb + 1 vegetable. The portion sizes are generous. All the food is pretty good, so you can experiment a little and try something new 😁 The man at the counter (with glasses I believe) was also very friendly and helpful. In other words, customer service is good!

Food is pretty good most of the time, Nice Size Portions, sometimes they miss the mark. Had to take two stars off the staff never has their mask pulled up, sometimes handling the money and food at the same time and never change gloves,which they should have seperate people for that. Cross contamination not trying to get food poisoning. Also sometimes y'all see one person there picking into the food that's s suppose to go out to the public and drinking right in front of everybody's face. On occasion talking on the phone etc.

Absolutely delicious. Ordered via Uber eats around 1PM..(during a snow storm) and the food was DELICIOUS. Way better than your typical plate at golden krust. Healthy portions for your money, tender meat, great rice!! Mac was yummy as well. Prices are also affordable. Will definitely be ordering from Flavas Kitchen more often!

Omg i love them. Its like my favorite Caribbean place. The food is good. Their line is long sometime but its worth it. Their rasta pasta and cabbage is one of my favorite things on the menu. Their fried chicken is NOT dry. The oxtail is good my favorite meat from them is their BBQ chicken though. Its good. I go here like 2 times a week

I gotta say I was rather disappointed because the food looked good but sadly it didn't taste as good. The BBQ turkey were very good I'll say but the mac n cheese was very bland and the rasta pasta was also bland and the noodles were very overcooked to the point of it being mushy

Omg I was visiting and wanted something my father always cooks for us back home and I saw flavas had fantastic reviews and decided to try them I was in awe pure bliss with the food flavor in every bite yams where sweet but not to sweet the mac was seasoned perfectly my husband loved the curry goat and oxtails muuahh the fish is to die for I loved it all will be back when I'm in town

The food is very good, however I wasn't to happy with the Salmon it was overcooked and dry and it didn't have any taste. Definitely wouldn't get the Salmon again but everything else is pretty good food wise. I do notice though everytime I go it seems to only be 1 person working and there's always a line.
