If you’re looking for fresh, delicious Greek/Mediterranean cuisine please look no further. From customer service to the tasty dishes, I give them 5 stars. Our waiters, Jose and Gabriel were very attentive to us, refilling our water, giving us extra hot pita slices when we run out. Our party really enjoyed the ambient atmosphere. The grilled fish tasted fresh and delicious. The chicken souvlaki and lamb chops were well seasoned and tasty. And the warm pita bread with olive garlic dip was just the best we ever had. Will be coming back!! Thank you for such a lovely service.

My Greek friend took me to Elia Taverna to celebrate my birthday. Everything was delicious. From fresh salad, lemon soup, the main dish, dessert and coffee. It was delightful experience.

We've previously ordered takeout from this Greek restaurant and the food was so good we wanted to visit in person. And it did not disappoint. For appetizers, my fiance had the grilled octopus which is so delicious and I had the shrimp in tomato sauce with feta cheese-also really good. As entrees, we had the grilled fish and lamb kebob with lemon potatoes. Everything was really fresh, cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We tried both the white and red sangrias, which were refreshing and delicious. We'll definitely be back!

This is the 2nd time there, and I love it. Not really familiar with Greek food, but everything we tried was delicious. A small, very cozy, bright country type atmosphere. Great service. Definitely a new favorite place.

The place is very nice, cozy and clean and the staff was attentive and polite. The food was good. The meat platter was very good, the French fries were not fresh, the saganaki needed more cooking so that the cheese inside could melt and the seftalies were overcooked.

Authentic Greek Restaurant, BYOB, they also serve wine. The appetizers are great, such as the: grilled octopus and artichoke dish. Our main course was the whole Branzino fish, it was fresh, lightly seasoned and cooked properly. Dessert was good too. The owner is a great guy, he showed me the grill area to show me how they prepare the fish. Very personable owner, waiters are attentive. Highly recommend, definitely would go back. We found a Greek gem in the neighborhood.

Ordered a few frappes before they were even open as I was told they make THE best in town. The owner was kind enough make the order for us & I'm glad he did. Two thumbs up...just like the ones in Greece. Wish he could deliver to Canada now :p will definitely be back for dinner on my next NYC visit.

It was ok here; not overly friendly but not rude, just ok. I was dining with a Greek person, he said the food wasn't authentic. Honestly what do I know I enjoyed the food. The Greek salad was not a Greek salad but maybe it was an off day. Basically I enjoyed the food, but you might need to drink extra water. Oh and try the the Greek beers I wish I had tried more than 1 type. Basically if you are not Greek I think you might enjoy the food because it was delicious in my opinion.

Can't describe how amazing the grilled octopus is, the best I've had from so many places that I've been to. Everything we ate was great, but what takes your dining experience over the top is the amazing service that you get from the staff. José our waiter was so good, that I'm definitely going back just because of him... And also the octopus.

My friends and I recently dined in at Elia this past weekend. The servers were very warm and welcoming from the start. The food was absolutely amazing, the gyro platter I ate was sensational. The meatball appetizers were also a personal favorite of mine. All in all we had an amazing time at Elia and I am definitely looking forward to my next meal there.

Overall good experience! The pita bread and hummus was delicious! The shrimp/octopus was great! The Mini-Baklava was fantastic! Unfortunately the olives served were very bitter and the Posiden dish was delicious except the calamari was not cooked properly, they were chewy.

This is my favorite Greek restaurant. Friendly owner and staff are a great start. The decor is cozy and matches the traditional home style cooking served here. Restaurant is clean and there is free parking space but you may need to go with street parking when the restaurant is packed. Every single dish that I have tried here has been a home run. They seem to use the freshest and highest quality ingredients and the preparation is masterful. Grilled octopus is extraordinarily tender and smoky. Gyro is the best I have ever had. Ditto for Greek spreads, pita bread and salads. The creamy feta cheese alone is worth making a trek to this place. I even love the Greek music they play in the background! I cannot recommend this place any more highly. I love this place and is my go-to place for extraordinary home style Greek food.

If you're looking for authentic Greek food in the area, I definitely recommend Elia! Their traditional Greek appetizers and entrees are very good plus fresh! I also appreciate their relatively large portions that make for great sharing options. Go for the imam, lemon potatoes, saganaki, calamari, zucchini cakes, gigandes. You won't regret it! Plus, that pita bread is so yummy!

Excellent service and delicious food. They have it all- meats, all types of sea food, vegetarian/vegan foods. The fried zucchini cakes and branzino are my favorite here. Definitely the place to go if you’re looking for great Greek food. Fairly priced as well

My wife and I come here with friends often when we're in the mood for Greek. Top notch service and food is always fresh and delicious. Our go to favs are the Greek salad, pita and different dips to start. the Greek style meatballs which even the kids love and can't come here and not have the saganaki-so great. Their Saganaki ( flaming Greek cheese) is like none other..and we have tried others that can not compare..The beets and skordalia (cold garlic and potato dip) is heavenly...SO many amazing choices when you eat here.You will never be disappointed and I guarantee you will become a regular as our family has..

A close friend recommended we head to this restaurant for lunch. I was blown away! This is probably the freshest and most delicious Greek food I've ever had. So well prepared, reasonably priced, lovely wait staff, can't wait to go again! Kudos to the owner, cook and overall success of this lovely restaurant. Even better, it is right next to two major highways and was less than 10 minutes from the New York City/Bronx line. Take it from an avid lover of great Greek food, Jan, this place is superb.

The person who answered the phone was not friendly and didn’t even say the name of the restaurant, just hello. The food was good but a decline from previous times. The prices on line and what we were charged are dramatically more. Not cool. Update your website! They didn’t have a few desserts we wanted and didn’t even care. The salad was not packaged right and opened up in the bag. Sadly, I’m not sure if I would go back.

Excellent local Greek food. Large portions. the only problem is that they get crowded, especially on Saturday nights and, even with a reservation, you may have to wait. I think the kitchen was a little overwhelmed. Once we ordered our food, we didn't wait too long but then our entrees came out five minutes after our salads were served.

This is a perfect Greek restaurant with authentic Greek food on the menu. Food is cooked to order. I had the pork souvlaki that was perfectly charred on the grill. And the salad that came with it was fresh and not wilted. I thoroughly enjoy the olives and pita bread that they put on the table. The chicken lemon soup was very delicious. It's a little pricey for lunch as it does not appear they have a lunch menu but it was worth every bite because it was delicious and fresh.

We have always liked the restaurant, but hadn’t been here in about two years. The still have it, but it looks like everyone else knows about it as well. We had a lamb stew and bronzino, both excellent. It’s BYOB, which definitely reduces your cost, or allows you to upgrade your wine. There is a wine store across the street; pretty convenient, right?

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Elia Taverna in Bronxville, NY and was thoroughly impressed. As I entered, I as warmly greeted by one of the servers, Jose. Jose was attentive, courteous, efficient, friendly knowledgeable and professional. The place has a beautiful atmosphere. For starters, I ordered a bowl of their avgolemono (chicken egg lemon) soup, which was one of the best I have had. Followed by grilled octapothi (octopus), which was made to perfection. It was extremely tender, moist, well marinated and delicious. For dessert I tried the baklava with a Frappe (iced coffee). Both were spot on. As some of the reviewers have stated. With a fine establishment such as this in Westchester County, there is no need to go to Astoria. After eating here, I wholeheartedly agree! I also had the pleasure of meeting the proprietor of the establishent, Mike. I had a most enjoyable time and look forward to returning in the very near future. Walking into a cozy place! Very welcoming place. Open to all ethnicities . Not a pinch of unconfortness .Staff was very amicable. Owner was in the restaurant making sure we received the best care. Delicious food! Fresh salad , great yogurt and the best roast pork soulavaski. While dinning I saw over my shoulders other plates that I can't wait to try: octopus and shrimp. The vaklava was delicious . It was not overly sweet! We did not want to leave this place.To top this experience after we left owner came out to thank us and inviting us to come back. Hands down, THE BEST Greek restaurant I've ever been to. Even the ones in Astoria! Although you'll be tempted, don't fill up on the complimentary, unlimited, warm pita bread - drizzled with olive oil and served with green and black olives. My four dining companions each had a fish entree - branzino served over sauteed spinach, swordfish served with lemon potatoes, and salmon over dandelion greens while I opted for a lamb dish served in a lemony tomato sauce with peas and potatoes. It is a family recipe of the owner and was absolutely scrumptious (thank you Grandma!). We finished the meal with a delicious custard dessert, and a respectable cappuccino. We can't wait to go back!

The Haloumi was amazing and the fresh made potato chips (fries) were great too. The gyro just happened to be the most bland tasting one I've ever had. Maybe the tzaziki sauce was missing spice, but I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to make it delicious. I'll probably go back to try something else. After all they did get great reviews, so maybe this was just an off day. *Edit* I came back with my girlfriend and we got the grilled octopus, the Chicken Souvlaki, and I got another gyro. The first time I came must have been an off day like I said because everything tonight was amazing. Loved it.

I believe there was an ownership change in past year or so. What seem like small changes can make a huge difference. For example, the lettuce in the Greek salad is now shredded (not as good as chunks of iceberg), the tomatoes in the Greek salad are mushy like they’ve been refrigerated for far too long, the feta cheese is not as fresh or authentic (tastes like supermarket feta). The pita on the Gyro is not as fresh and fluffy, the lamb on the Gyro is not the same spiciness, the tzatziki sauce is too thick and tastes like sour cream. Very disappointed. And our favorite waiter is gone too.

I always go in the evening time but I went after 4pm. Order a gyro and greek salad as I was driving I smelled salad and onions. The whole salad spilled out in the bag. I was already home and I called so she was sorry that it happened. Said that she will replace me with a new one the next time I go in. I hope that she keeps her word. The salad is not cheap.

Can’t say enough good things, I got there right around closed and they still happily accommodated me, my food came out so fast and I took home and it was still scolding hot and beyond delicious I got shrimp appetizer eggplant appetizer and eggplant spread, there’s enough pita here to last me a week, my brother and mom were both able to share my eggplant app and spread and have pita for the shrimp app sauce ( I’m greedy didn’t share the shrimp) highly highly recommend this place

Greek food that can stand up to the best of Astoria, but with more space, easier parking, and reasonable prices. The classics are here -- simply grilled fish, Greek horiatiki salad, lemon potatoes, mezes, etc. -- along with more creative daily specials. Go to Zachy's in nearby Scarsdale to pick up that bottle of Retsina or Agyorgitiko, because it's BYOB. Pick a designated driver, then come in and enjoy. A real find in the area.
