Tasty food without compromising on the price. We ordered off the Sunday brunch menu (bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's till 3pm!!) and have no complaints. The bartender, Marissa, was so attentive and kind. Will definitely come back.

The best pub I have even been. They are so nice and food and drinks are so good. If you are living in this area or new here this is the right place. Bartender lucy is the best. I am new to this area, and went there for a drink alone. She made me feel so safe and comfortable in the bar. Also a lady from the bar walk with me to near my house to make sure I reach home safe. Again best place ever I have experienced.

This is a a place you can come and enjoy yourself, the place is clean the food is good and there wait staff are charming. When we arrived it was not to busy, we were seated quickly and given the option to choose. Food arrived as quickly as we ordered it and correct. There beer selection was good, had beers that I haven't seen in other locations.

Awesome Irish bar/ restaurants. I often go for a couple of drinks, some bar food and a good game or UFC on their big screens . I often see families come here for a nice dinner and everyone is well taken care of and attended to. Love the crew. Orla and Lisa are my people! Food was absolutely delicious, what I was really impressed about is that they make their own blue cheese and I must say it’s absolutely the best most delicious tasting blue cheese I’ve ever tasted. Family friend the Wojcik had their confirmation and communion here, 5 years apart. Came back the second time in 2022. The buffet still rocks. I had baked cod fished which was a-ok. The beef was very tender. The chicken was ok. Ceasar salad was ok. The veggies were delicious, and the service was great.

I tell you what, I’ve lived in this area for months and months and had never visited this restaurant. I am so glad I did, it will be back very soon. The food is amazing, and the staff are so attentive to detail. I wish I remembered the name of our waiter, but he joked, he laughed, and he helped so much with setting the tone and atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was beyond delicious, and I felt at home. It’s a small Irish pub/restaurant, but you definitely want to visit.

Sunday Brunch at Burkes was great. Our Bartender/Server Lisa took special care of us to ensure that my 87 year old Aunt was comfortable. The food (Breakfast burrito and pancakes) was satisfying and the Mimosa's were made specially by Lisa. Back again soon!

Build your own burger is still one of the best burgers around. Beer is cold and a pretty good selection. Always have most of the games on, would like more women’s soccer, but I don’t think the regular’s are up for that. Could use a little updating but it’s quaint and I don’t think I’ve had anything I don’t like.

Nice traditional Irish style bar. The food is really good here and the bartenders make good drinks. The brunch menu is phenomenal. They also have options to build your own burger and build your own salad for customized meals. Moderately priced and great portions. Mondays is a great day to get a good deal on the prime rib which is made really well and the garlic mash that accompanies it is heavenly.

Cheap and delicious burgers, good drink specials, and good bar staff. What more could you want? Has an authentic Irish pub feel to it and there's a ton of parking in the area. Bathrooms are almost always clean and never had a bad experience. Great spot for the family as well during the earlier hours (before 7-8)

Great bar food with more menu options than usual. There are TV's everywhere so this is a good place to eat during a game. Burke's excels at burgers giving extensive choices of buns, cheese's and toppings. My wife loves the Chicken Caesar Salad. The staff is friendly and the service is always good. The bar can get crowded and a bit boisterous which lends the place a lively atmosphere but is not what would be considered a quiet meal.

Everyone is Irish on St Patrick's Day and everyone is family every day at Burkes. A mellow atmosphere, the best Guinness beer and micro 🍺 on properly maintained taps with a full bar. A proper place to cool your heals, grab a bite, and kid friendly too. Safe and friendly one of the last of its kind for our area who treat guests well everytime, Cheers -see ya at church ;-)

One of my favorite places in Yonkers. Food is great. Burgers are phenomenal. Rib eye steak is highly recommended. Wait staff is prompt and attentive. This is a good place to watch sporting events especially Hockey. This is home for the Rangers fan.

One of the best Irish Pub's in Yonkers. If it's on the menu it's great! I recommend the Ribeye, the burger, the wings, and the fish and chips. What ever you're in the mood for, it's here. They even can accommodate vegans. If you're lucky enough to get Jen as your server you're in for a great experience.

Great place to get together with friends after work/weekends for drinx and if you are into watching sports on TV, this is a good chill spot. Like the ambiance.

Absolutely one of the Best Burgers I've had anywhere. The burgers are huge, and delicious. I can't stress how good the burger was. On top of that, they are $5. I have easily paid twice as much for a burger half the size that wasn't half as good. Seriously, just order the burger... zero regrets will be had. Burke's has a great selection of drafts, including local craft beer. There's also a crazy Friday Happy Hour special begins at 4 pm (this may be temporary) but they have open a random keg at 4 pm and sell $1 beers from it until they run out. Thereafter, they have $1 sliders for one hour. Dollar Sliders Yo! I love the inviting atmosphere here. Old world style pub with dark wood tables, decor, and a roaring fireplace that actually warms up the place when coming in from single digit weather this season.

Friends and I came here for St. Patrick's day because it was close by to friends place. It was packed (No surprise, it was a festive holiday) but very accommodating. The staff was very friendly, the beers was nice and chilly, the food was fantastic! I've had shepards pie before from other places, but this one is the absolute best by far. Best burgers if you love that mild charred flame taste. Best steak fries and sweet potato fries also. I'm a bit of a foodie, so I'm very picky about my food We had Jennifer who was very sweet and attentive in a very professional way and not overbearing. I had a problem with my Cosmopolitan, it tasted like a fruity virgin cosmo with seltzer in it and Jennifer remedied it for me, by bringing over a little bit of vodka for it. It helped, but if were made correctly, I would've had a second one, because the first one would've been gone fast. ( usually ) Lol !!!

I've lived in yonkers all my life and always have passed by but never went in til last friday. I met my friend Rob there for a few drinks and it was great! The drinks were nice and cold they even have food...yes! FOOD!! we were there early and environment had a real good vibe. The music was onbtye money the bar keep was friendly and cool and kept them cold ones coming. If you get a chance swing on by they also have seating outside. Aaahhh! what a great place to enjoy an evening of good food cold beers great music and an awesome atmosphere to enjoy a hard days work. Go on bye and have fun or just relax with some good people.

Doesn't disappoint, it is what it is—a kinda semi divey sport bar…but this place is large ,a and even has a backroom that is sometimes used for events, but has a nice fireplace …. always pleasant to look upon a wood burning fireplace while enjoying your dinner …wish tables were better oriented to take it in during the winter months of it use. would class up the whole dinner experience …great burgers here…although hawaiian rolls have been removed as an option….guess it was expensive to buy if not being picked often enough …but love all the options to building your burger —and the other food is good to….this place can get crowded and parking tight/ hard to come by …but i still like coming here…its just a chill relaxed space.

Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. I did order the fish as it's my favorite dish thus far, but tonight it was absolutely disgusting. Maybe that's too harsh but I felt like I had cod fillet in a popover. Super soggy, dense, lackluster flavor. I'm not a salt person but that's what I used to be able to eat it. Malt vinegar is what I normally use but since the batter was so soggy I didn't bother.

We returned to Axia Taverna because the food is wonderful. However, on Saturday evening the service was almost non-existent. We waited a long time before the waiter acknowledged that we were there; then an additional (at least) 15 minutes for our drink order to arrive.

5 Stars as a Sports Bar 4 Stars as a "Quiet drink" bar Low-Down: Burke's bar is an Irish place, first off--and some of the staff have that wonderful accent and hospitable personality that makes a place welcoming from the get go. It's great for catching almost any sports game you'd like, as there are tons of TVs and good food and beer to match it. If you're looking for a nice, quiet drink, go in the afternoons or on weekday nights, and sit on the other side of the dining area. If you're looking to smash; that is, drink with a variety of other people in a busy bar setting, weekends are your home at Burke's. In my opinion, (well, isn't it all if it's a review?) this place can suit every looking for a granite-solid bar, it just depends on whether you go on weekends or weekdays, nights or afternoons. Specifics: It has a set of stairs at its entrance, and if memory serves, are doing construction on the second entrance, perhaps in the scope of building a wheelchair accessible ramp. There's a half-wall separating the sit-down area with dining tables, and the bar area with longer (raised) tables and bar stools. Like I said, it can get busy on weekend nights--and at some point in the evening, they stop selling food. There's also a brunch and breakfast menu on Saturdays. Pretty sweet. (Will collect more details next time I go; yes, I will undertake going back to this delicious place for research.) On the drinks: excellent variety, expertise, experience and execution. Never had someone get my drink wrong, even on a busy night. Liquor and beer, I also wanna say wine. They have like, bucket-deals for beers on certain nights when there's a game on, so look for that. As for selection, they have a nice couple of local brews, and several taps. I want to say they have Guinness on tap, but I'll have to recheck this review later (3.29.18 as a timestamp.) They also deliver beer. BOOM. You've obviously got to show ID, but they'll deliver most staples: bud (+lite), heineken (+lite, wow, fancy) corona (+lite), coors lite, miller lite. On the food: Great pub food, there's also a kid's menu and, if I remember correctly, a specials board. I'm sort of glutton, so I recommend anything fried. On that note, they have fried oreos here, so if your mouth is already watering, consider indulging before you go to the gym, but carry no regrets. Next: capital-B burgers. make your own burger starting at $6.00, with some free add-ons if you want them. Y'all. The burgers here are bomb. Messy, but bomb.* (*=excellent. If you ask, they'll cook it to doneness within a reasonable margin.) The toppings are customizable and complex--or not,if you like to just pick and choose a burger--and that's the beauty of it. No matter what you choose, I would recommend the sautéed onions. Yessss. On the burgers, I might avoid the pretzel bun. It's delicious, and I enjoy it, but it's just plain difficult to chew a pretzel on a burger. Prepare for a delicious jaw ache. Price range varies, on a night that I order some small appetizer and several beers, my tab is usually under $20 (before tip, and here I'll say, always be generous and grateful to everyone you meet!). ' All in all, a solid choice for a nice, simple experience. If you want flaming cocktails, the bartenders might make you one, but tentatively, as, I think, they prefer to wow with substance, instead of surface. Thanks for reading. -M

Interesting place. It's got a nice bar and a good amount of seating. I didn't try the food, but a lot of people seemed to be enjoying that too. This place is basically smack dab in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so it feels out of place, but in a fun way.

Have been contemplating whether or not to write this review as I myself worked in the restaurant industry for years however a few days after the fact I'm still a little annoyed at the experience I had on Saturday night. (4/1) My boyfriend & I had called to order food around 10:10pm, they stop delivering at 10 so we were totally okay with picking it up. They had a live band playing that night so understandably it was realllly noisy in the background. After a few repeats, We placed our order (just 3 items I believe). We were attempting to give my name (since he hadn't asked for it yet) & to find out about how long it would be & the man taking our order said "what?!" "I can't hear you" & then just hung up. I'm not sure if he moved to a different area of the restaurant or what, but we were basically shouting into the phone answering him. Right away we tried calling back about 15 times, we weren't even sure if our order was put in, and the phone just rang & rang & rang with no answer. Now I understand with the noise level not hearing the phone ring however if you were just taking a pickup order and hung up on the person for whatever the reason, don't you think you'd have the phone in hand waiting for the person to call back? Since no one answered, & assuming the order was put in, we didn't want to be "those people" who order food & never come to pick it up, I decided to wait another 15 minutes & then go over there. After finally finding parking & getting inside, it was indeed very noisy & busy... however I was directed back to where the server area is to pick up my order & it was a little less loud back there. Unfortunately, our order was never put in, I spoke to a really nice server (I think her name is Jennifer? I've picked up from & dined in with her as a server & she is great!) she took my order & after genuinely apologizing & asked if I'd like something to drink while I waited. Eventually, I asked a man who I believe is possibly a manager or owner if he was the person I spoke to on the phone about the takeout order, he said yes, I told him I was kind of annoyed that it was never put in & that it was a little unacceptable to handle a takeout order like that. His response was "it's really loud in here & it's kind of hard to hear the phones ring" & he walked away. I don't think I need to point out what's wrong with this situation, it kind of speaks for itself. I hope this is an isolated incident because the food is pretty good & all of the servers I've encountered are very nice & give good service even during a rush. That's why I gave 3 stars instead of 2.

This hidden gem is quietly tucked away on Bronx River rd. A traditional Irish pub and fare with quaint charm and wooden rafters. First let me begin by the welcoming bartenders. They are just so incredibly polite and personify service with a smile. Two food items stand out above all else. The steak and eggs as well as the Irish breakfast, which is the best i ever had from Yonkers all the way to Donegal. Where most places have absentee management, not Burkes. Mike can be seen working the room and always stops by to welcome the guests and regulars; One of the gentlest of giants you could ever meet. This is definitely my go-to for comfort food as well as an impressive bottomless brunch for those special Sundays. In all my experiences here, I always walk out full, tipsy, and smiling. O the pipes the pipes they are calling at Burkes!
