Reviews of Bardea Food & Drink

My husband and I enjoyed our date night here. The food was delicious! Our waitress, I forget her name but it was her first night and she was great! The fish was seasoned well and melted in our mouth. The burrata pop tart was different and delicious. Our drinks were good, it was a good vibe, and we had a great night.
We will be back for more!

If there was only one place to go to during your stay, it would be here. You will have a fantastic time surrounded by lively chatter. Always fully packed so prepare to grab a drink by the bar while you wait to get seated. Decor has a lovely old-world charm with lots of character. Food is meant for sharing so order a ton of dishes to try. My fav was the charred octopus and the raw dishes, but really everything was great and service was fantastic. Great place to bring a date or celebrate a special occasion.

Great ambiance and food, drinks were excellent. Knocking a point off because our server suggested we order 6 items to share between 2 people and we felt this was too much food for us, especially at the price. Notable mention for the burrata pop tart and risotto. Overall, perfect spot for a date night and we will be back.

This was my first time dining at Bardea and I was impressed. The taste and presentation of each dish was superb. The drinks were unique, fresh and made with precision. The bartender (Zach) was knowledgeable, provided excellent service and we enjoyed all of the drinks that he recommended. This was my first time here but it won't be my last.

Great place! Ambiance and overall vibes are perfect. Food was really good and our server was nice. Very knowledgeable. They even have a small, heated outdoor space for when the weather is a little nicer. Happy that we tried it!

Perfect size portions. Was worried a few small plates wouldn’t be enough food but we actually couldn’t finish it all! Pizza was superb, never had anything like the calamari. Everything was delicious, will be coming back!

Went here to check it out as a potential venue for our rehearsal dinner and we were blown away. All the food was incredible. The drinks were excellent. The inside is a vibe but we had a dog with us so we had to sit outside (no big deal with the great heaters they have even on a cold night). We loved our waiter. Would recommend if you are in the area.

A lot of times the Wilmington food scene is over shadowed by Philly however Bardea is well worth the time it takes to get a reservation- usually about a month out. Tremendous service and a truly unique epicurean experience. Dont miss the Calamari, lamb kabobs. Let your inner carnivor eat! You won't be disappointed- well worth parting with your hard earned dollar!

If you happen to be driving from Boston to DC and you're looking for someplace really good to eat, STOP HERE. Bardea is a special find! We ended up having the best dining experience, for a very reasonable price. It's not far off I95. The parking lot under the Hilton is a short walk ($3) or you can do their valet. The service from all staff from the moment you walk in is friendly. You feel like you're being served by people in one of those TV cooking contests! They're so eager to please, and they are excited about the food that is coming out of the kitchen. And the FOOD was devine. Don't miss the gnocchi. Everyone raves about it...They're right. Book ahead...this place is popular! We reserved a table right here in Google maps and that worked perfect. Wilmington is now officially on our food destination map!!!

Sat outside next to malfunctioning blown out speaker which made most of the meal experience unpleasant but the bumping music seems to be the vibe they're going for so we had to deal with it. We ordered the polenta which did not advertise any pork products on the menu so as my wife's family is Muslim, we were surprised when the person who brought the food went through the ingredients and listed a pork product. They took it right back and some time later brought back the dish without the pork. Fine, but it was my mother in law birthday and we didn't get anything free or a candel for her to blow out or even the polenta discounted. Now we did start the meal with tiny champagne toast glasses so I will credit them that. My wife and I were visiting from NY so to us the prices were great but for perspective we had about 8 different sharing platters with a round of drinks and without tip it came out to a little over $200 for 4 people. That's awesome considering when her and I go out in NYC we're spening around 200 for similar meal just the 2 of us with tip. Food was overall delicious, creative and well made. Waitress Kylie was polite, informative and very pleasant so kudos to her. The location has difficult street parking but do they do offer valet service. Very crowded on a Saturday night but after dining there I would say the good reviews are well deserved and I would recommend more so for younger couples (20s to 40s) or friend groups but not really a bring the kids type of place.

What a spectacular experience. The service was top tier. The staff was cordial and professional.
The food was well balanced. 8/10 of the items we choose were phenomenal. For most part the freshness and quality were prominent. Very unique. And well thought out cuisine.
Will glady return. Came for my birthday and I have zero regrets or inclinations. By far the best restaurant in Wilmington and likely the whole state of Delaware.
Now, I would reccomend making your reservation prior to 8pm, if you're booked on a weekday.

I took my boyfriend to Bardea for his birthday. The service was amazing! I have never had so many people check on how we were doing. The atmosphere was festive and the food was great!
Christopher Szary
Atmosphere and staff were top notch. Very impressed that the people serving the food explained the dish again upon arrival. Food was very good. The steak was delicious, not the best I've had, but still very good. The lamb skewers were also amazing. The only let downs were: smallest steak you could buy was 20zs, which worked perfectly for my date and I, but only because we both wanted steak; and then the grilled romaine. This can be done so much better, 2 char marks and wilted lettuce wasn't worth 2 bucks, let alone 15. Overall, definitely worth it. We will be back.

delicious food, fun drinks, and our server provided excellent service.
ordered 5 small plates to share, four cocktails, and 1 dessert. total was about $160. i'd said that was fair.
the vibe inside was warm, despite it being a bustling saturday night. bonus: they played some good music; almost wished there was a dancefloor a few points during the night. will be making my way back soon.
pictured: raw scallops, charred octopus, calamari, veal cheek pasta

The pasta was delicious although I think the portions are small. And I'm myself a person who doesn't eat a lot.
But it was delicious it tasted fresh home-made.
The place has a night club vibe. Lights are dim and it's really noisy. The service was okay.
Oh but their Pizza 😱 was so so delicious.
Do yourself a favor and try their pizza.
Don't order the Raviolo. Cuz then you will be hungry.
Prices are expensive.

We went here for a mid-week business dinner recently. Even later in the evening, the restaurant was still busy and lively.
The menu of tapas-inspired options is diverse, inventive and quite tasty. The drinks are good, and there is a nice wine list
The servers are passionate about the food and drinks options as well.

Spectacular service and food. Every dish was thoughtful, interesting and tasty. Every interesting ingredient was intentionally used to it's full potential. Can't wait to come back!

Our department stopped in for a celebratory "happy hour." It's a cool spot on Market Street. I didn't know it existed. I had lamb skewers and hummus with bread...SO GOOD. I don't remember half of what the server said was in the hummus, but it all blended together so well. I want to come back and try a cocktail!

My husband and I are fortunate enough to live just a few blocks north of the renowned Bardea. Having been several times, I asked to go on my birthday, when unfortunately I was glutened by a well-meaning runner. It was definitely a rough evening on my birthday, but Jeff didn’t skip a beat. Immediately contacting my husband, he insisted that we come back for a tasting menu on them. Chris was a fabulous waiter; we were treated to a multi-course feast where the aromas, textures and flavors were beyond words. From the perfect savage blonde oysters to the grilled romaine, avocado, gf chitarra, branzino, eggplant, etc. it would be impossible to pick a favorite. Needless to say, bardea is still our favorite restaurant in the area and of course we will be back.

Best BIRTHDAY DINNER EVER. Everything is always delicious 😋 but it seemed as if everything had an elevated appeal. My favorite is the Charred Octopus. This time we also had Burrata Pop Tart, Lamb Skewer with Hummus, Oysters on the Half Shell. Drinks included birthday champagne 🍾 toast. Thank you Bardea for that. Dr. RX was delicious 😋 Really I just cannot say enough about this establishment. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE STEAKHOUSE OPENS. I am sitting on pins and needles in anticipation.
Heather Clore
The atmosphere is just so lively there. The food is absolutely delicious and the presentation is wonderful. Our waitress, Bailey, was very friendly and took her time to explain different items on the menu and to give us her recommendations. I would highly definitely recommend.

This place is cozy and the ambiance is cute for a date night. The staff are really friendly but my favorite was Victoria. She made this beautiful and tasty tequilla cocktail! The Upside Down pizza was also good- I don’t normally eat the crust on pizza but I devoured the crust here

Phenomenal. Hands down, the best restaurant we've been to thus far - from the creatively decorated, natural calm atmosphere to the unique flavor compliments paired with a table share dining experience and an amazing server - Phenomenal.
We started with the bread board, composed of housemate foccaccia bread served with fig butter, olive oil and flaky Icelandic salt and house cultured butter - wonderful! We followed it with the special beef plate and dry Lamb skewer. Both snacks were full of flavor and matched with amazing sauces which complimented the meat perfectly.
For our main dish, we table shared a half rack of ribs, a whole chicken, the large raw bar sampler and the small plate Cheshire pork. The ribs were served with a garlic BBQ sauce and a smoked yuzu sauce which were both fantastic. The chicken was rubbed with a szechuan, lavender, honey, soy as jus which was perfectly flavored. The raw bar sampler included shrimp, PEI oysters, bay scallops served ceviche style and hiramasa - each were perfect in their own way and paired perfectly with different toppings or sauces. The small plate Cheshire pork was equally amazing - it was served with grilled pineapple and absolutely wonderful.
We finished our dining experience with dessert - we tried strawberry pop, Brazil nut nougat and graffie. The strawberry pop was like a fancy, adult version of the strawberry shortcake ice cream pop. It was tart and flavorful - amazing. The Brazil nut nougat was perfect for the chocolate lover - it was wonderful. The graffie was like a peanut butter jelly sandwich but with a doughnut and it was phenomenal. The homemade hazelnut butter and mulberry jam were to die for.
Our server, Bailey, was beyond accommodating, knowledgeable and attentive. She knew the menu inside and out. She made the dining experience even more phenomenal than the food itself.
We will be back, time after time!

Chef JC does it again🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾 EVERYTHING was AMAZING. From the hostess Yoshi, to our server John. Always an excellent experience. The lamb was EXCEPTIONAL🤌🏾💋

The food is unique, tasty and the presentation is outstanding. My wife and aunt tried the ostrich skewers, avocado, wagyu cannelloni and the cuttlefish!!

Visited Wilmington and saw this place on Google. So glad I visited! The best charcuterie board I've had in awhile. Oysters were fresh. This restaurant is tapas style. Small plates but so yummy. Wine was also phenomenal. Sat at the bar because they expect reservations. I'm glad we sat at the bar, super cozy and great atmosphere.

Amazing food!! I suggest you eat in courses to enjoy a wide variety, they time when the food comes out perfectly. Be ready to spend a good amount, but quality is great. They have a wine specialist on hand to help you select a bottle as well. I can’t pick a favorite dish. Chicken wings, pork, fish, pasta, pizza you can’t go wrong! And those are just what I’ve tasted personally. I would have taken pictures but I was in a trance by the food!

Every time my fiancé and I visit Bardea we always have an amazing experience! The food is always on point, along with the drinks. We love to sit at the bar since we are always taken care of by Justin, our favorite bartender. He greets us as soon as we arrive, remembers the way we like our drinks, and provides excellent service from the time we walk in the door to the time we leave. If you visit Bardea, be sure to ask for Justin if you sit at the bar.

Ever since my first visit, I have probably visited Bardea more than 10 times. Bardea's food has never disappointed but the service has been less that mediocre on multiple occasions, especially when then dining room is full. They may need more servers, and definitely they need better servers, but for fine dining service is the alpha and the Omega. Not only food, but service as well. My rating goes down to 4 stars.

Bardea is a unique food experience, with every dish prepared and plated to perfection. Their selection of small plates allows one to try many different fish and meat offerings. We tried 8 different dishes in total and a cocktail, and it was a near-perfect food experience. There I tried for example the best pasta ever. Their charred octopus was as tender as it can be. Their dessert was also excellent.
Maybe the only dish that I wouldn't necessarily order again was their steak. There was nothing wrong with it, it was wonderful. I just had better rib eye at boutique steak houses.
Joseph HLOPAK
The food is very good and they have an interesting selection of small plates and appetizers that you don't find at typical Italian restaurants. The portions are more like what you would expect at a bistro, but they can be shared with another person. I would recommend getting more than one small plate/appetizer plus the main protein for entree and a side of vegetable. The meat is delicious but the price can add up quickly ($4 per ounce for bone in ribeye). If you're not worried about paying 100-200 for a dinner for two then this is your restaurant. If you're looking for something cheaper you may consider looking elsewhere.

The food and drink quality was high, but the service was lacking. We had a reservation, but the table wasn’t ready until 30 minutes after our reservation time. It took an additional 10-15 minutes once seated before anyone came over to take our order. The music was BLARING dance music almost like it was a nightclub (we dined at 8pm). The food came out at proper timing and was really good. The space itself was well decorated and a great atmosphere. Overall, I’d come back for drinks at the bar and skip food service in the restaurant.
G
The food was of excellent quality.
All things good end from the quality of food. They seemed understaffed, the food was coming out very slowly, and some food items were being left out on hot plates for too long due to the delays.
I would pay double the price for their food to see half of the tables removed. It's far too busy, reducing the number of tables would enhance the dining experience.

The vibe here is great 👍, if you are in wilmington and looking for a place fo go where you feel the need to put on some clothes this is the place to be. The drinks are unique and they give you the option of 6oz or 12oz. I choose the 12!! Unfortunately they do not give you clear understanding of what ingredients are in the dishes on the menu or in the staff verbal rundowns, thus I suggest you ask be diligent in asking. Also make sure you get you togo food, because they are more willing to run outside to verify your tip than bringing your leftovers back. But they don't mean they not a 5 out of 5. You better here if you smart

Every time we eat at Bardea, the experience is exceptional. Dined in last night for my birthday, the waitress brought over a champagne toast and put a candle in our dessert. We shared 5 plates we hadn't tried before to switch things up, but had to order the charred octopus again because it's our favorite. The pork collar and spare ribs were delicious and thoughtfully plated, and we loved the pesto linguine with clams. The pesto was so different than any I have had before, it was creamy and bright and unique. Cocktails are always good, special mention for the smoked old fashioned and basilico. Servers are always friendly and informative, and ask if there are any dietary restrictions or allergies which is a nice touch. Bardea is definitely our favorite restaurant in Delaware.

The food was so good! Highly recommend and would absolutely visit again.

The food was explained by every member of the wait staff, it was an amazing experience
Matthew Hans
Fantastic experience. The mussles dish was the winner! Thoughtful flavor combinations combined with artful presentation. Free parking and an amazing cocktail menu. Cocktails were pricey but it balanced out with reasonably priced food. Overall outstanding!

Issue was with service. There was a 30 min gap between dishes. The server came over had to double check that we did not get the dish. After mentioned something to him and the manager/maître d’ there was an overall lack of concern. Food was good, not great. Also the high top table in the bar was one of tightest squeezes I’ve ever had to make in a restaurant.
Bruce Morton
The food was spectacular. Everything is small sample dishes. When you share with your party you can try out an amazing spectrum of flavors and textures. The servers are so helpful and are constantly bringing dishes, clearing dirty plates and bringing clean ones.
Leanne Avellino
Dined here once before a show at the Queen…excellent! A complete surprise and a new favorite place. Going back tonight for my husband’s birthday. Get dressed up - it’s special - and you won’t be disappointed. Service was excellent.
Alena Carhart
Jenna is an amazing server!!! We both got NY strips and bottle of red and white wine. Everything was amazing!!!! I would come here again just for the service and the food.

I took my parents here as they were visiting from out of state. My dad is a total foodie and he had an amazing time here. There was a waiter who was an expert in wine and was able to make a great recommendation. The waitress we had was very knowledgeable about the menu. One thing to note is that the dishes are expected to be eaten family style, but are very small. So only expect to eat a couple bites per dish. Everything we ordered was incredible, but the mezze penne and the fish (branzino that day) were my favorites. Also, don’t skip the desserts! Those were just as amazing as the rest of the food. The cheesecake and tiramisu tart were to die for. The entire dining experience blew my expectations, which were already high. The only disappointment was that they were already out of one of the pasta dishes we wanted to order. I highly recommend eating here. The total bill actually ended up being less than we expected, but it is still expensive (around $60+ per person), so keep that in mind.

Jonathan was one of the best servers I've had in a long time. I eat out a lot due to traveling for my job, and he was top notch! Knew the menu like the back of his hand, very accommodating, and very upbeat. Found this place on a whim for my anniversary dinner and was beyond impressed. Food is high level with a reasonable price. Will come back very soon.

I visit this place often and each time I visit my experience is better and better. I usually sit at the bar and they are always amazing! I wish I remembered there names I would shout them out! Food, Service, and Ambiance are always impeccable. Reservations are a must this place fills up quick, the only time I have a not so great experience is when I can’t get a seat lol (due to improper planning on my end). Love this place

⭐️The food was delicious! We ordered the:
- lamb skewers,
- angolitti (small portions, only 5 small dumplings but very good, don’t order this as a meal),
-focaccia (GET THIS),
- oakwood tart mushroom (very tasty and delicious), and
- the branzino (cooked to perfection)!
⭐️Wide variety (menu is split into 7 sections, easy to pick what you want)
⭐️Cocktail menu was to die for (they use local spirits from philadelphia!! My favorite was the cucumber blueberry smash)
⭐️Outdoor seating done right! (heat lamps + planters utilized as a partition from the sidewalk)
⭐️Service was pretty good, we sat outside and our server also has tables inside which was fine because we were having a long dinner but he wasn’t able to give us 110% as he was juggling a lot at once
Overall great experience, I would 10/10 recommend Bardea to a friend!

First visit and may be back one day....The RUDE 👿 manager in a suit ruined our evening with his abrasive tone and approach!! We just completed signing the checks and leaving a generous tip when he rudely told us we had to leave because he had other people waiting for the table! He was not professional or courteous and needs to be trained on his approach!! The place was getting busy and we were ready to get going but our waiter was busy with other tables and at one point we didn't see him for 25 minutes or so! Our waiter was really knowledgeable about the menu and broke it down nicely for us to understand the ingredients. The calamari was AMAZING!! 👅 The wings were ok...and the pasta dishes were too salty to enjoy. Drinks were great. Overall it's a hip, classy place, great for date night or girls nite....but they may need to look into their management staff.

A friend and I went tonight to try their Restaurant Week menu. The entire experience was fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff knows the menu and had spot on recommendations. There were 2 managers (at least) on the floor making sure everything was to your liking. They checked in on us 3 times which may seem like a lot but they were not at all intrusive. Infact my friend commented that often restaurants give less attention when you are there for promotions and she was very impressed with our treatment. And now for the most important thing. I've been hearing about how amazing the food here was for months. There was a really high bar for me. I had big expectations. They did not disappoint. Every bite of food was perfect. It was so well prepared. The attention to detail is high here. 👏👏👏

I’ve walked by this place a million time but Finally had the privilege to experience. It’s very Chill vibe. I see why it’s always packed on the Weekends. The Margarita Pizza was the BEST I ever had.
Carol T.
The place has a chic charm and nice decor. Open kitchen so you can see what's going on. Greeted at the door with a smile & guided to our seats. Server was polite & fully explained all the tasty dishes also helpful with the drink menu to compliment our meal. Food was served hot & delicious! There is also a bar area if you choose to dine there or just stop in for a drink. A really great place. Go, you will enjoy.
Maxx Ryan
Hands down, best experience in the city for me, in the last 10 years. Service, food, the whole 9 yards. Everyone needs to check this place out.
Just look at these dishes, that alone should tell you to make that reservation
Laura Conner
We had a delightful meal at Bardea! The service was very good and each small plate was very fresh and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the best sashimi, the lamb skewers, the meatballs and the ravioli. Each item was very well executed with unique and layered flavors. The gelatos were delicious also!
Shaunica A.
Celebrated my birthday here, it was a great experience. Everyone was friendly and very professional. Food and drinks were both excellent!

I came to Bardea for the first time, and boyyyyyyyy was it an experience. I was celebrating my birthday, so it was a surprise dinner set up by my family. From the time I arrived to the time I left I was treated like the Queen I was born to be. The service was spectacular, the host Yoshi was beyond hospitable. The bartender (I do not remember his name), was beyond astonishing. The server, Allison was amazing and JC in the back of the house ensured that our palates were defined. We ate so many appetizers, that we never even got to eat dinner. My menu was signed by the owners, which was such a special touch. My family got me a cake, everyone sang Happy Birthday. I enjoyed this night soooo much, this was really one for the books. I will continue to come here as often as possible, because it is very rare to get excellent service and excellent food in the same sentence now adays. Thank You so much to the Bardea staff for making my night memorable.
Mark J
The highest food and drink quality as well as a great experience every time. Would go much more often if we lived closer. We love coming here!
Jimmy Siermine
Fantastic service along with some really delicious cocktails and dishes. Highly recommend the Raw tasting. Definitely a top dinner spot in Wilmington
Timm Crosby
Was there for my Birthday and brought 5 others along. Stephen was our waiter. He did a great job!! The food was amazing the atmosphere was electric. (Although i think our table was the most active which made it electric...lol) All around great experience. I will have to try the 37oz steak the next time

Seriously, have if you haven't been here yet, you're missing out! The vibe is great, the people are awesome, and the food is wonderful. Also, the new happy hour menu is AMAZING! Hummus, meatballs, mini cheese plate, etc for only $5-8 and HH wines for $5/each (Chianti, Pinot grigio, and Prosecco). Zach the bartender was extremely and personable and made sure we got in another drink order before happy hour was over. Super excited for this venue and everything that they have to offer. Scott and his team are exquisite!
Abby Johansen
Everything was wonderful! Service, recommendations, atmosphere, food and drink were all great. Love coming here.

This restaurant certainly separates itself from its surrounding competitors. The quality of each and every dish was absolutely on par with similar dishes I've had in Europe. Tuna Tataki to start followed by the upside down pizza. I'll be sure to come back for dinner. We had Bruce as our bartender and I would highly suggest sitting at his bar. A+ experience
Rakan Abuzahra
My girlfriend and I come here about once a month, and it is always an excellent experience. Every aspect of Bardea, from the food, the drinks, the ambiance, to the service is fantastic. The food is delicious and presented well. The servers are knowledgeable and surprisingly passionate about the food they’re serving. I have had almost everything on the menu and never had a dish that wasn’t amazing. I can confidently say Bardea is the best restaurant in Delaware, and certainly earns a spot among the top fine dining restaurants nationwide.

Here are really amazing food, great cocktails and beer, and of course really pleasant service!
Want to thank the Bardea for wearing Ukrainian symbolic and support Ukraine in our fight against rusian invasion. It's really matters for me. We stand for Ukrainian freedom together!
Bob Palagye
This restaurant is amazing, the food, the vibes and the staff are professional you will not be disappointed.
I can not say enough about what a blessing this establishment is.
The chef and his staff are a army of some of the most talented culinary masters and deserve the highest praise.
The management is top notch skilled in making your dining a experience you will not forget.
This review is intended to praise what a 5 star restaurant should be.
Nicole Rotondi
Loved, loved, loved this restaurant!
We ordered the chicken wings and grilled octopus for appetizers... delicious. Branzino for the table and sides of rigatoni and seared romaine lettuce... highly recommend the fish and lettuce dishes.
Our waitress Chris was friendly, super attentive and extremely knowledgeable... you could tell she loved working there. At the end we met the owner who was sincerely happy to hear feedback.
Excellent experience!!!!

One of the best restaurants in the greater Philly area, let alone Wilmington. Fantastic Italian fare with an amazing smoky kiss from their wood fired ovens. Just order every small plate the first time you come and marvel at the spot on, but exotic flavor pairings. The service is as good as the food.
Abby J. Molen
An absolutely incredible meal! Perfect for a date or special occasion with friends.
Lisa Cannatelli
Food and Drinks were outstanding. Great for date night or with a group of friends.

I love bardea! I have been here quite a few times and this was my least favorite time so far. The food was amazing as always and atmosphere was inviting. Our waitress was very disconnected with us and didn't seem to be very interested in making a connection. Only thing food wise that was disappointing was the King Salmon ( It wasn't king in size ) also does come raw in the center, but the waiter did explain that it would just a little too raw. I was upset about valet being a charged fee now when every since I could remember it was free. The valet didn't tell me about the change in price, but just wrote it on the ticket without a word. I thought it was free because that is the exact routine that was placed when it was. I was disappointed in that.
Christina Brock
Have you ever eaten at a restaurant with a famous chef? Neither have I, but dinner at Bardea was pretty close. My friend and I went on Friday night on a late reservation. Our waiter was informative, attentive, and funny without being overbearing. The flank steak was osmooth as butter and taste like a tiny bit of meat heaven. The Italian long hots are not something that I would have ever picked, but I will get them again! Stuffed with sausage and tempura battered, there's a beautiful crunch and flavor, deseeded for less fire but absolutely nothing lost. The avocado paired with pineapple was epic, as was the chesire pork. The spicy honey pizza is definitely spicy, but shareable size. The smoked old fashioned was a great way to start & finish the meal. If you are in the area, definitely check out Bardea. It's an upscale casual so leave the sneakers at home and bring your appetite!

Twice in three weeks. Did not disappoint the second time. Get the lamb kabobs and cauliflower for amazing flavors and the scallops and goat trail dessert for works of art.

Been several times since they opened. We have tried 10+ dishes by now. Wonderful food. Portions small compared to Wilmington average. Busy on weekends, probably perfect for a special lunch. Pizza to-go is amazing!

Great host/hostess staff (hostess is sexy). Recommend reservations for main dining area, on tuesday we couldn’t get seating there so we sat at the bar. Bartenders were busy but tried their best to be attentive. Restaurant lives up to its neighborhood gem reputation. Food presentation is good and on time, good flavor and vibe, along with well mixed cocktails. Old fashions are done right; recommend the traditional cherry with it though. Nevertheless nice urban vibe, medium crowd noise. Food appears to have an italian fusion with local seafood and farm to table fare. Will revisit!
Susan Jordan
Upon arrival, we were offered seats at a high top in the bar. We asked to sit in the dining room. They chose us a very nice table by the window. Despite it only being 7:30' they were already out of 3-4 menu items. The small plates were spaced out nicely, but portions small and quality good, but not exceptional. Dessert was very good. The noise level was very high. This is not a place for a couple's night out. The noise, initial poor seating choice and being short on menu items moved the rating from a 4 to a 3.

Lively atmosphere, but a limited menu. The night we were there it was packed and the service was strained but enthusiastic. Overall a great addition to Market Street. Hopefully they keep changing the menu so it doesn’t get stale.
Brittany N.C.
This place has quaint but gives a pearl in an oyster vibe. The food is absolutely delicious and Joey was a pleasure. He was very enthusiastic about the menu and selections. I’m always going to be here for the Dr. Rx, the half rack of ribs, and eggplant parmigiana. A little pricey but worth it for a restaurant that was a James Beard semi finalist. I definitely will be coming back again!

Everything was great. The only items we felt were average were the pasta dishes. Maybe just unexpected. The risotto was basically puréed, almost like a soup. Same for the bolognese. Sauce and meat were puréed together. Everything else was sooo good: burrata pop tart, lamb and hummus, bison steak, and grouper. If you like mezcal, the Picasso is awesome.
Tony Pham
Great dinner! Had a mixture of everything from the menu (big party of 20). The smoked old fashioned was the best I’ve had in awhile!

Great food and service at this hospitable restaurant. Samantha the bartender was fantastic! Loved the creative cocktails and the variety on the menu.
Flojo
Amazing! Loved the ambience. Went there for a late dinner and drinks.

Excellent new restaurant on Market St. in Wilmington. Known for its Italian tapas it's menu changes frequently. The food is excellent and service is great! We highly recommend it!
K MM
Bardea is the best all-around restaurant in Wilmington. They have delicious and adventurous small plates to share, a fabulous drink menu in a cozy atmosphere. This is a must-visit in the area!
Noeun “Truthseeker21” Kim
Great service! The food is excellent! Great atmosphere! The place is clean. Plenty of parking.

Unbelievable experience in downtown Wilmington DE. Our waiter Ryan and the entire team at Bardea were fantastic. The level of service you get at this place is unreal. The chef's small plate creations are out of this world and the food running is done very tastefully; the knowledgeable food runners explaining each plate and offering such a fine presentation to the dining guest creating an unforgettable experience for all to enjoy. Cannot wait to visit again and order one or two of the larger table size/shared meals. Cocktails we fantastic, great to see qualified and adept bartenders that were trained properly. 5 stars. Don't forget to order the Donut for dessert!
Angel Cannon
5 star restaurant. From the amazingly beautiful & tasty cocktails to the amazing small & large dishes. We tried a lot of the different foods & cocktails and there wasn’t anything I tried that I didn’t like. Highly recommend. Good quality, amazing taste, & fair prices. Perfect for date night or girls night out

Best overall dining experience in all of Delaware. The Chef truly does an incredible job.
Emily Foraker
Hands down, the best restaurant! From the incredible cocktails, to the diverse menu - you will not find a better place in Delaware! The managers, servers, and bartenders all work together, to provide you with the best experience possible, and make you feel like family. Bardeas as a whole, is an absolute work of art!!
William Racer (speedX)
Great views and both small and large dishes were a amazing and even better beer and alcohol options

Went here for a celebration dinner after a work promotion. Our server was great! He went over the full menu, offered some great recommendations and even brought us champagne to toast. Cozy atmosphere delicious food ; top tier Wilmington restaurant.
Robin Rusnak
Absolutely perfect!!! The food was delicious. The decor and presentation was exceptional and the staff was wonderful!!! We will definitely be back. If you've never been, you must go.
Betsy Leroy
We had the most wonderful culinary experience last night!
Took friends of ours who were in town from Martha's Vineyard, and we all agreed it was one of our best meals ever. Our server, Ryan knew every ingredient that went into our dishes and could describe them perfectly!
If you love food, highly recommend letting the chef choose your plates!
Emily Franze
Recommend making a reservation - we got VERY lucky with bar seating. I am vegan and the staff was overwhelmingly accommodating and helpful in creating me a delicious meal. The prices are completely reasonable for the quality of the meal. Excellent experience.

Hubby and stopped in for a bite after an event downtown. Well worth it! Calamari was good, crispy, only improvement would be to maybe pair it with either a dairy based or acidic sauce to counter the saltier notes. We squeezed lemon from our beverages over it and that helped. The ribs were out of this world! Best ribs we've had in a while. Will be back next time we're in Wilmington for sure. Great atmosphere, staff was awesome. 👍

This is a true gem on North Market Street in Wilmington, DE. The James Beard Foundation semi finalist serves Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Small plates are perfect for sharing. So is the chicken, ribs and fish dishes. Small plates include octopus, meatballs, lamb skewers, eggplant, calamari and more. Deserts are fabulous as well. Great experience overall!
Scott Brooks
Phenomenal food and service. Will 100% be back again
Patricia Fasick
Amazing! Celebrated my husbands birthday last night. Every single thing was perfect! Service was awesome. Our server was Jonathan.. he was great and every single person that approached us from the restaurant said happy birthday and asked if there was anything else we needed. Our new favorite nd every penny worth the Uber ride from Hockessin!
Jpw3
Amazing service (thank you Matt). I wish I had taken photos of the gorgeous food. Phenomenal plating and presentation. Tasty eats too. Don’t expect the portions to be overwhelming (no supersize here), but everything was tasty from the appetizers to the entrees to dessert, drinks and even French press coffee. Loved it and would try again. Great ambience as well. Perfect experience! Left smiling. I’ll need to make the drive for a day trip again and check out more menu items :)
Andy Billnitzer
Excellent food, twists on Italian favorites, tried multiple menu items and was blown away by each one!

This is what first class dining looks, feels and tastes like. Outstanding experience from start to finish

TLDR: Delicious food. Poor restaurant.
I really wanted to give Bardea a 4 or a 5, but I couldn't justify it... honestly, considering the major issues it could be lower than a 3. Make no mistake it is a good meal, but there's more to a restaurant experience than the food. For the hype and the cost there really shouldn't be any criticisms of note, just tweaks and critiques; unfortunately that is not the case.
Major issues... We disclosed a nut allergy for multiple patrons at our table when ordering drinks. We order no items that listed tree nuts as part of the dish. Two dishes came out with tree nuts. One of which wasn't even announced as such and was only disclosed when asked about.
Mid level issues... Atmosphere and ambiance. It's an atmosphere for a bar in a restaurant trying to do fine dining. The seating is very tight. Multiple servers bumped into people at my table throughout our meal because of the lack of space, while they were always apologetic, that's not the point. The music choice is also unusual and loud for the type of restaurant. Considering the tight space, the noise from neighboring tables works with music to drown out a significant portion of table conversation.
However, the food is delicious. I love small plate formats and the dishes were executed well (save for the allergen issues). There were plenty of intriguing options and unique offerings to really give an enticing mix. Everything didn't exactly "hit-the-spot," but that is more about misaligned flavors or expectations... With a different pairing or on a different day that would have been enjoyed. The branzino and oakwood tartes (mushroom and goat cheese tartes) were the highlights. The pork and geoducks were also strong dishes. Nothing really fell flat, but other dishes were nothing special.
The cocktails were okay, I personally enjoyed mine (Dr Rx) thoroughly, others were not as enjoyable for everyone as they lacked any layering of flavor and were just a punch in the mouth of alcohol.
Hidden fees are also a minor issue that are a bit annoying, but certainly not deal breakers. While they are disclosed in the fine print on the menu they are a bit underhanded. The 5% service fee is silly, raise the cost of your food. If you want the $20 pasta to cost $21, list the item at $21 rather than listing it a $20 and hitting me with an extra 5% charge on the bill. There is also a $2 bottled water charge per person, but it is essentially an additional seating charge as tap is not offered as an option. Plus, pouring water from a bottle that staff members are refilling from a tap (filtered or not) isn't really what bottled water typically means. It is worth noting that while the extra fees are disclosed on the menu, I was the only member of my party to notice, so the fine print is meant to be missed.

Food was excellent from lamb skewers, chicken wings, pastas, prawns, ribs and desserts! Even had "Roman candle" in Cobbled Peach dessert to celebrate my son's bday!!!
Thomas Ryan
Really great bar and eatery!
David Epstein
One of the best restaurants in town: multiple small portions, meant for sharing, of really creative and inventive dishes that you'd never get anywhere else. It's also one of the most expensive restaurants in town. Service is very attentive, though for some reason the main meal is frequently delayed; so not good before the theatre. Trendy music, trendy people ... energetic, and loads of fun: definitely a "special occasion" place. But take time to savor - my friend and I met there for a meal, and never felt rushed, even though we sat and talked for 3 1/2 hours! Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Anna Yanisko
This place is really incredible, from staff to food to drinks everything is amazing. The food has some really creative takes and of course, tastes fantastic. We will 100% be back!! Jenna was our server and she was so knowledgeable and fun to chat with.
Nathaniel Blevins
Incredible birthday meal. The service and hospitality were over the top. Food was nuanced, diverse and delicious. Incredible gem for Wilmington. Bravo.
K L
Fun and interesting food! Service was amazing and they do a fabulous job explaining everything in great detail.
Samantha Winterburn
Great spot to stop for a drink. The bar has a really cool vibe and the drink list is really extensive. The food looked great as well. Bartenders were really nice. Only downside is it closes earlier than I'm used to for a bar!
Marisa Facciolo
What a great experience! Met a couple of friends for dinner and decided to wing it and let our waiter, Chris pick our meal for the night. It was amazing from start to finish. One of the best meals we’ve had in years. We can’t wait to go back and yes, we would have Chris select our meal again! It was awesome! Thank you Bardea for creating a great experience for us. See you soon!
Carmen Acosta
Bardea never disappoints. The food is always amazing and the wine selection is top notch. The service is outstanding. They like to update the menu so you'll never need to eat the same thing (I've been here 3 times and they do keep some staple menu items). Visit Bardea, you will love it!
Susanna Glasstetter
I went here for my birthday this past Saturday and had one of the best experiences. To start off with, our server was just amazing. I wish I wrote his name down because when I come back I really would love to have him again. He was honest, recommended amazing dishes, and made my celebration amazing. We were never waiting around, he was on top of everything. He made the whole dinner. The food was incredible. Every dish was perfect and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. I had the octopus and was blown away. I also had eggplant and the avocado dish. Everything was amazing. I never write reviews, but my experience here was probably the best I had eating out. I cannot wait to go back.
J B
Went here on a Friday, make reservations the place was packed. They have valet parking . Server E was great, explained everything on the menu, the lamb skewers great, eggplant Parm was so good I wanted to lick the plate, the cheshire pork was very tender. Perfect. I wouldn't go here for date night because it is very loud, I couldn't hear much of what anyone at the table was saying and couldn't really read lips, that may have been the Moscato. Definitely will be going back.
Megan Anastasia
This restaurant was amazing! A hidden gem for sure. More than just dinner, it was an experience. Our waiter was wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful when deciding what to order. The flavors were unique but delicious. We ordered the fried calamari, buratta pop tart, and wagyu canneloni for appetizers. Small portions, but big flavor, enough to split with 4 ppl. My penne with xo sauce was probably the best pasta dish that I have ever had. My friend had the special Ramen with truffles picked from Northern Italy, she raved about the dish. The specialty cocktails were delicious as well. My husband and I typically go to Philly or Collingwood for date nights, but this restaurant has all of those other restaurants beat! The prices are reasonable for the experience that you receive. Highly highly recommend and will absolutely return!
f Jake and the court and the crooked politician
I'm torn because I don't want to influence anyone's visit. This service was GREAT! But I think it has to be said. This is more about the experience. If you are looking to fill your belly at a reasonable cost, rethink your visit. The portions are VERY small. Think appetizer at another restaurant then split it in half. This applies to ALL items on the menu. If you're sharing with others you then split your plate by the spoonful, Example, for one plate cheese cake that is one spoonful per person. You find your self ordering multiple items. Before you know it you owe $200+ and you still have to grab a burger on the way home. Not what I had in mind. The day after you might feel like you've been hustled. Just being honest.
Ryan Scully
Second time here on business, and just as pleased! This is by far the best restaurant in Wilmington. Unique specials (ostrich skewers), delicious pastas (mezze penne), and fresh takes on drinks (cinnamon infused simple syrup), make this a must!
Jack B
This place is the best! We drive 40 minutes from south jersey to get here and it's well worth it. We have been several times, sometimes just two and sometimes with a larger party 6+. With a group is a great way to experience this place as you can take advantage of their "feed the table" options, which are typically too large for just two. Make sure to try a few cocktails as well as they are on par with the food!
Fred Hill
We had a group of 14 in last night for my 40th birthday dinner, and hands down, this was a top 5 lifetime dining experience. No one in the group had been before, and we were all blown away. Our server, Chris, was amazing, attentive and always two steps ahead of the game. We tried about 80% of the menu, and every dish exceeded expectations. Wine and cocktails were incredible. Standout dishes were two whole red snappers, calamari, bone-in prime rib, lamb skewers, grilled octopus, bread board, pork chop. I could go on. Highly recommend! No restaurant that I have been to in DE comes close to Bardea. Thanks to the whole staff for such an amazing experience.
Lisa Berkoski
5 Adults had a really wonderful dinner last Saturday night at Bardea! Our waiter, George, was excellent, even after we tripped him with toys from our toddler (so sorry George!). From start to finish it was a relaxing time, with fabulous cocktails and everything we ordered was really well done; beautiful presentation and delicious! I especially loved the Branzino, the mushrooms, and the octopus. The bread and flavored butters were a delight. The rhubarb martini was picture worthy. I cannot wait to go back! Thank you Bardea, for persevering through this difficult time, and we wish you great success.
Serena Wilson-Archie
Unique eating experience. Food and cocktails were good.
A little tight with seating to my liking but it would be more comfortable for parties of 2-3 but no more than 4.
Michael Jones
I cannot fully explain how wonderful our experience was....
Our server Bailey(sp?) was a gem from the start. Our neighboring table informed us that anything she suggested would be phenomenal and they were absolutely correct.
The small plates: Bison Sope and ricotta gnocchi... the sope combined savory and sweet in a way that we had never tasted before. The gnocchi was light and delicious.
We had a multitude of other plates and I'm sorry I don't have a full review, but each dish was was a delight and a true new experience in flavor.
Kudos Bardea!!!!!!!!
Carolyn Franklin
It was my birthday and they made it special. We had a choice of inside or outside dining. The service was outstanding: attentive but not intrusive. The meals and drinks were very good. My favorites were the roasted octopus and the margarita topped with a scoop of lime sorbet.
I highly recommend this restaurant!

Mind Blowing Experience!
First time in Bardea - you have to go! The food is amazing. Very friendly staff who really care about your experience. Very cool ambiance; reminded me of a chic NYC restaurant. Ricotta Gnocchi literally melts in your mouth; Charred Octopus, a must! Burrata Pop Tart to die for...Shared the Dry Aged NY Sirloin which was cooked to perfection. Everything about this restaurant spells CLASS.
Todd Holtsberry
I very much enjoyed my dinner and service. I shared a charcuterie tray, lamb skewers, and pizza with a friend...as well as tiramisu and a French press for dessert.
Kerri Poore
The best dining experience ever! Food was extremely delicious and unique. The lamb skewers were very tender and flavorful. The octopus was charred perfectly and the gnocchi were so delicious I can put into words! Our waiter, Jason, was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be returning soon.
Alexandra Pettinaro
I love Bardea! Every time i come they’re so accommodating- my most recent visit was today my friend is a 2x Emmy Nominee!! We were seated promptly and greeted with champagne. Everything we ordered was delicious, as is every time i come. I appreciate the staff that actually read the notes part of the reservation and will continue to visit Bardea! Thank you & see you soon!
Teja Dhananjayan
The place was beautiful, friendly staff and all. But I wasn't expecting such small quantities of food for the price you pay. And you pay for water too surprising. I would have liked to know that they charged for water.
Kara
I don't know what kind of gin I got when I asked for a gin and tonic, but WOW it was the best gin I've ever had. All dishes were delicious, the salmon, the sunflower seed hummus, the rutabaga, the tiramisu...so impressed. Everybody can find something on the menu.
Jennifer Stacy
Called ahead and spoke with chef who completely customized my vegan, gluten free, nut free and chocolate free meal including dessert! A bit noisy though for my tastes, but my dinner party of 6 seemed not to mind. Also, waiter seemed to be incredibly educated on both the food and wine. Very impressed with knowledge and service.
Annette Girondi
Love the small plates and great drinks! Yummy!
M Love
Definitely upscale with small portions meant for sharing. I liked that they were small because every plate was so rich and full of flavour, after a couple of bites I was happy to move on to another amazing dish. We, a large group, ordered many plates for variety and I can sincerely say I LOVED every single one. So much care and attention was given to us by the waiter. Absolutely fantastic all around. Ambiance was very nice as well. Felt like a valued customer.
Kay Hooks
She’s not a waitress but a customer service extraordinaire! Jenna made sure we knew the in’s and outs of the menu and everything recommend was awesome. The ambiance, food, and people were together tier! Thank you so much
Andy Bev
Upscale place with small portions. The quality is excellent. I had beef short rib pasta that was cooked perfectly, and a very well balanced cocktail. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy Saturday night, and the servers were super courteous about it. All around excellent little date spot. If you're going on a weekend I recommend you set up reservations.
Nancy Meier
Excellent service, delicious food. A bit noisy at times but atmosphere was fun!
Moran Bradford
All I can say is eat at Bardea!!! By far the best meal I have ever had. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Ask your server for recommendations. The prime rib and NY strip were the beet steaks I’ve had. Chris is an AMAZING server. Can not wait to go back!
Business Tips
I mean, it's Bardea - there's not a single thing you can go wrong with here. At the very least get the bread board, it's transcendental
Christy Marquez
Here's what I tried:
Rigatoni was a little too plain and small
Oysters weren't my cup of tea
Gnocchi was divine
NY Strip and Beef Skewers were delicious
Overall I loved the interesting menu, great atmosphere, and customer service. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Ellen Neff
The food was amazing! Every bite was a delightful experience.. Our server, Chris, was exceptional. He was so attentive & yet was not obtrusive. Probably one of the best meals I've ever eaten.
andy sallavanti
Excellent food and service! The steak was fantastic! The menu for the steak is a little confusing, but otherwise it was an amazing experience.
Chelsea Lee
My first choice for delicious food and a special night out. Everything is excellent.
Kenn L
Food is actually really good. Pizza is very fresh, tasty and crispy. Ricotta gnocchi is just so amazing. Friendly local waiters (our server was Chase), nice atmosphere, and many local workers hanging out after work. We will definitely come back here to try out the other dishes. Great job!!
Anne Elmlinger
I dined as part of a special fundraiser for Meals on Wheels, so there was a special menu. Such interesting and delicious combinations of ingredients, always presented beautifully. Had small plates - but they have some entrees too. From the regular menu, I only had the bread plate, and it was good- warm thick crusty bread topped with your choice of EVOO, butter, fig butter, and salt. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a lively vibe.
Michelle Kramer-Fitzgerald
Bardea's team not only puts out delicious food but they really make you feel welcome.
Jamie Watson
I had a great experience here with my co-workers and the food was great I definitely recommend going here and trying it out for yourself
David Gorski
I would avoid Bardea in the short term until they rebuild their staff post-Covid my dinning experience was rather disappointing. First what Italian themed restaurant should be out of bread at 6:30? They offered to bring our table pita as a substitute and then the wait staff delivered it to the wrong table. We ordered a couple of cocktails and and the waiter showed up with only one drink on his tray he apologized and dashed away without leaving the one drink with us only to return 8 or so minutes later with the second drink and the first drink now well melted. That summed up the entire evening. I did not feel like they were under-staffed but rather under-trained. I would wait before returning.
Mike Waters
I don't know if I had an unusual experience here, but a friend and I came in after a show at The Grand. At first we we're told the kitchen was closed (it was just after 10PM), then the manager followed us out and said "if we ordered quickly", they could serve us - we decided to accept his offer. There was nothing awful about our meal, but it didn't knock me off my feet as I expected from a James Beard Award-nominated spot. The meatballs had very little flavor, and the octopus was undercooked. I will say the pizza was pretty good, but after a couple drinks each, our tab was just under $100, and I left underwhelmed. Again, I don't know if we caught them on an off night, but I expected more.
Shailja Gulati
My first time in Wilmington to meet my new team and was looking for a place to hold a team dinner. Bardea came highly recommended and I now know why! I reached out to Scott to share what we needed - a safe, COVID friendly environment and space....with delicious food...within a pre-determined budget. A tall task, but Scott and team delivered.
The space is beautiful, open and airy. The cocktails delicious. And THE FOOD. The food honestly exceeding my expectations. I let Scott choose a selection if items that would work for this group of 12 and it was perfect. We had plenty of delicious options for the carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians alike. Some of our favorites were the meatballs, grilled romaine, pizza and the eggplant parmigiana.
Thank you Scott and team for exceeding our expectations! We will definitely be back.
David W.
Had a good lunch - the pizza was better than the pasta but overall very tasty!
Raj Sheth
Food here is amazing! The pizzas are unique, crispy, and flavorful, also shareable. The pastas (the paccheri, is my personal favorite) are wonderful, albeit small portions. I come here a lot and they were well deserving of being a James Beard Semi-Finalist
The only part of the experience that I disliked at Bardea is the service staff.
Sam Lautman
First time to this restaurant. Let me first say that Chris was our server and he was by far the most knowledgable and helpful server I've ever encountered. From the moment we sat down to the time we left he was amazing. Now to the food, oh the food!!! The food was so wonderful. Love the fact that it's more if a tapas style place. Very shareable and such amazing flavors. Nothing we ordered (which was almost the whole menu haha) disappointed. The chef served nothing but greatness. Definitely will be coming back!
erica baritz
Our entire experience at Bardea was truly amazing! We ordered a variety of dishes and shared between the 4 of us. They spaced out the courses perfectly and one dish was better than the next. The Ribeye was for 2-4 people and it was hands down the best steak we have all ever had! The pastas were delicious too. The calamari was excellent as well as the pizzas. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Mona, our server was awesome! We live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and without question will be returning ASAP to Bardea.
Abby McCloskey
First time. This place was amazing! The server was so helpful in how much food to order and her recommendations on what to order. It was one of the best meals and dining experiences my husband and I have had in a long time. Get the charred octopus. Trust me. We will definitely go back.
Theodore Saad
Best dining experience we’ve had in DE for a long time. Beautiful place, atmosphere, decor. Super service, and a creative menu using simple ingredients, delivering complex layers of tastes & textures in all dishes. NIce wine list, some quite affordable by restaurant standards. Definitely will be a new “go-to” for us.
Jason Fox
Wow, the service was the best I have had in such a long time. When a meal starts with a greeting and a nice overview if the menu it just sets things up for a good meal. Everything we had was tremendous. Hummus, pizza, pasta were good but the cauliflower really stole the prize believe it or not. Highly recommend this place.
John Maskornick
What a superb dining experience we had at Bardea this evening! This restaurant offers a fascinating and unusual menu with each item we selected exquisitely prepared. It provided us with a truly memorable dinner with which to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was crowded, but our service was still prompt and professional. Appetizers and main dishes are beautifully presented.
El Flanagan
Excellent food, decent wait staff. Nice drinks. Ate there while visiting DE. 2 times during our 3 night stay. MUST try the spicy tamarind calamari, excellent. Branzino was very good but full of bones ( they have no idea how to De-bone or filet a whole fish) but it tasted delicious, but work your way carefully around bones. No tablecloths, though, which drives me nuts.
Joseph Pilkus
My girlfriend and I haven't had a better dining experience in the U.S. during the past three years. From Scott, the owner-chef; to John, Steve, or Chris, the servers, to Asia, the hostess, you'll feel as though you've been whisked away to Italy. All of the platters are absolutely delicious...from the appetizers to the small plates and entrees.
In August, my girlfriend and I along with a group of 10 Indonesians descended on Bardea and they could not have been more gracious. The very next evening, just the two of us returned with other friends and we introduced them to the magic of Bardea!
Kayla Chen
Our server Bailey H. was absolutely terrific, we had a great first time experience. The bread board was solid and both the pizzas we had were wonderful (the upside down and spicy honey). Definitely will be coming back!
M K
willie was an absolutely fantastic server! he described everything in perfect detail that accurately captured the taste, had great suggestions, and an amazing table side manner. good and drinks were great, but a phenomenal server really helps seal the deal and guarantee return customers!
Joe Manbeck
Tasty food in a fun, modern atmosphere. The lamb skewers and pizza (Spicy Honey) were great, as was the tiramisu. There's enough on the menu for everyone to find something they like. Prices felt appropriate for what we got. Jamie was attentive and helpful in narrowing down our menu choices.
Matthew McGregor
Great menu and good wines! Micro gastronomy is on display with the offerings and the staff is very friendly.
John Brereton
Absolutely LOVED this place! Food was Italian with a twist which made it unique and interesting. Good balance in food offerings. Beer and wine list were decent as well. They make their own lemoncello which was great.
They don't have a parking lot but there are enough parking garages in the area that walking shouldn't be more than a few blocks. OR you can take advantage of the valet parking for $5 ( which is the same price you'd pay in a garage)
Joseph Moore
After a couple of recent visits in the new COVID world, I am very happy to raise my review up to five stars. We hadn’t visited Bardea in almost 2 years, but as we’re venturing out again, we decided to give it another try. We were very pleasantly surprised.
The menu has more creative dishes than ever before, and they’re using fun, interesting cooking techniques from around the world. Not many restaurants in the area doing koji fermentation, for example.
It’s still on the upper end of the price range for Wilmington, but they’ve earned those dollar signs now, and we will happily return.
LaVonne Tynesha (Makeup Love by LaVonne)
I always have a great experience at Bardea. The consistency in service, ambience, food, presentation and friendliness is what keeps me going back and referring this restaurant to family and friends. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and welcoming. Tonight's experience was awesome! It was a perfect ending to my day. Thanks Bardea!
Rhea Phillips
Fantastic meal. We were a party of four. We ordered all small plates, snacks and a pizza. Everything was delicious. The tiramisu for dessert was one of the best I ever had. Don't miss this place. The owner we met, Scott, was a perfect host. He is super excited to be in Wilmington!
Peter A
Was a bit loud but food was great, service as well. Great vibes all around
Gianna M. Spina
I love Bardea! Amazing atmosphere, great cocktails, and excellent food. The burrata appetizer is to die for. When I found out this place opened up near me, I was so excited. If you want a nice night out to dinner, this is place to go!
Emily D
Excellent customer service, comfortable atmosphere, love the decor and simplicity.
Food is delicious! Modern Italian restaurant best eaten family style, nice to eat the wide variety of food on the menu. Love the eggplant parmesan and the pizza is thin and crisp.
Drinks are made perfectly.
Lindsey Vernick
Best restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The pizza is amazing and so is the pasta. I was recently in Italy and I swear the pizza tastes the same (if not this was better). It is very trendy and has a center city feel to it. Perfect for any occasion. Service is amazing too! We never once had to wait to ask for something or wonder where our food or drinks were! Must try!!!!
Anthony Seeney
This a bit of a story, but it turfs out. First review.
So my fiancé and I went to this restaurant, were seated immediately. A very small table against the wall next to the kitchen. The restaurant was full, so we accepted that. But we noticed a larger table about 10 feet away. We ordered our drinks, a little later, a much larger party sat across the room. A few minutes go by, and our waiter bring them glasses. We get suspicious, considering we are black (hold on).
So we decide if they get their drinks before we do, we’ll leave. So immediately after he gives them glasses, he goes to the bar. And returns with our wine. In the corner of my eye the MANAGER was wiping off the larger table, when he says he notices we look uncomfortable at our table and asks if we’d like the larger one. From that moment on our experience was Magnificent. My fiancé is a bit bourgeois and is discerning when it comes to meat. So after asking he informs us they’re stocked by D’artagnan farm in New York. The food was expertly cooked and exotic. The lamb was tender and juicy. She said they really took their time with the eggplant parm, the steak was perfect, octopus as well, and the cabbage, I’d kill for that recipe. Full with no meat sweats. They import their salt from Norway, but it tastes like salt. Still, bravo and my apology for assuming in this climate that our race was the issue with our service. Ignorant of how busy you guys were. I’d definitely come back and I’ve already told my friends and family. And decently priced. I’ve struck gold within inches of digging into my meal and the customer service.
Herman Athias
The food was exceptional!!! Ryan our server did a great job. He explained everything to us.
Travis Fogelman
Chase was our waiter, he was high energy and gave us great service. We got a bunch of small plates. Some of our favorites were the truffle toast, gnocchi and scallops. Love the decor and I like how the bar is separated from the main dining room to cut down on noise.
Kerry Hollands
Fantastic food and attentive, friendly servers in a laid back but upscale atmosphere. We had the cheese and meat board, meatballs, gnocchi, mushrooms and chocolate torte and they were all delicious and beautifully presented. Portions and prices are reasonable too.
Darrielle Commodore
If you want a causal and relaxed atmosphere head here. Ask for Bruce P. the waiter and you will never be disappointed. Also, if Bruce P. is the bartender you will not be disappointed either. He takes his time and he has great recommendations when it comes to pairing wines with your dish of choice.
My favorite dishes were the Calamari and the Upside Down Pizza for Lunch!!.. P.S The waiter Bruce is really tall you can’t miss him!!

Made a reservation here on Valentine’s Day and was honestly putting my expectations a bit lower only because it’s Valentine’s Day and it’s a crazy day for restaurants. But I’ve been eyeing this place for months and with my dad in town from California I knew I had to take him here. Well, let’s keep this short and sweet...10/10 for service, food, drinks and atmosphere. The waiter we had ( Jonathan?) was an absolute delight the entire time. He was efficient, friendly and very professional. Truly a breath of fresh air in this day and age where bad experiences with servers are becoming the norm. My tastebuds were on fire ( in the best way possible) the entire time. From the velvety, perfectly al dente pasta, to the spicy cauliflower with a frozen celeriac creation on top (probably my favorite menu item), the freshest little gem and frisee salad with a delicious ponzu dressing. I’m just really happy we have this in Wilmington. They are changing the game in the Delaware food scene and I couldn’t be happier. They’ve set the bar high though! Can’t wait to see this place continue to get the success they so deserve. Thank you for such a wonderful Valentines evening Bardea!

Went on a Tuesday night at 7:30 and got a table by the window right away. The first thing I noticed is how extremely loud it is. I could not hear the person across from me. The waitress Katie was very nice and helpful. The food coming out was very slow, was there for 2 hours. Best thing I had was their roasted chicken. The taste on the outside was very nice. Also had the pasta with short ribs this was very underdone pasta and way beyond al dente as the waitress said it the message from the kitchen which is their way of saying they don't know how to cook pasta. Their was also not enough short rib to warrant the $21 price. They only make 3 pastas in house which is weird. If you can make 3 way not make all. The chestnut ravioli was very different but tasty, all I tasted though was sweet and not chestnut. Lastly had the honey pizza. The bottom was underdone and when I pulled out a piece all the topping came off. I will be a while before I'd go back as there are many better options. Also the salmon dish on the menu I wanted to try was not available as described and the edited version for the night was very odd sounding. Watch out if you order this as you might not get what you want.

Mind blown! This was one of the best restaurants iv been to. Drinks were super creative and tasty and the food was out of this world amazing! Every dish impressed and there was nothing we felt was sub par. The burrata toast and the seasonal mushroom dish were my favorite. We also had the ink pasta, lobster pasta, truffle pizza and they were all phenomenal. Thumbelina carrot dish was full of flavor! Thank you for a fantastic culinary experience Bardea!

Excellent service, food and drinks! The lamb skewers were amazing and the steak is to die for!!

A nice place for dinner. Pizza is excellent. It has great selection of modern and innovative Italian dishes. However some dishes were a bit too salty. I had Maitake mushroom broth and it was too salty to take on its own. The server and restaurant failed to remediate issue when I had it the second time. This is probably an area that it can use an improvement to make it a wonderful restaurant.
Kembo B
First time here for dinner and it was a wonderful experience! Bardea offers menu items your not gonna find elsewhere and as a Foodie I appreciate that. We ordered from the "Feed The Table" portion of the menu . We had the Bone In Ribeye and Baroque (fish) and both dishes were EXCELLENT! Be advised that area of the menu is al a carte. Prices are reasonable and expect to spend a couple dollars but portions, quality, and taste make it money spent very well! I highly recommend and am a regular visitor.

Came out with my girlfriends for a fun Friday dinner and this place was amazing!!!! Our server johnathan was so fun and answered all of our questions with no hesitation, he was so friendly and made us feel at home. All of our food was off the charts delicious. Shout out to the shiitake shrooms ...AMAZING! The owner also came out and offered us a “peach limoncello” to end our great night . overall a great experience and could not suggest more!

From the beginning of the opening day Bardea has proven to be a premiere establishment. James Beard award speaks for itself. Pino & Scott run a class act establishment, the workers are happy and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere is simply amazinv. Everything is made witb love.

Best restaurant in a long time in the US. Excellent pappardelle and pizza. Friendly staff.
Keef TheGOD
Great food. Excellent service. Creative cocktails. The wait is wild tho. Make reservations if possible. Or prepare to wait.
Erin Markham
Bardea has turned in to my favorite place in Wilmington. I'm typically there 4-5 times each month. The owner, Scott, is wonderful. He welcomes his guests and is always present (if not in the kitchen himself!). Paul and Zack are the best bartenders around. I only sit in the bar area because I know I will get great service from them both. 5 stars all the way!
Jodi Gangloff
Bartenders are super friendly and drink are amazing! Everything we ordered was spot on. The chef and server were extremely cooperative working with my plant based diet too!
Jill Ehrlich
Never a bad meal - our only regrets is that we don’t get there more often- the more the merrier - we have more fun dining with friends than as a could so we can try more dishes. Leave room for dessert !
Michael Barberi
First review I have ever done and I personally felt obligated to write a review because this place was FIRE. My experience at Barea was amazing. I took my girlfriend here and it is our second time going out post quarantine so we were super excited. The amazing service started with Kristen, our waitress, who was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu from the drinks, to the food, explained everything, and gave great recommendations. For drinks we had the C.Bee.d (loved it), Espresso Martinis for dessert which tasted like nitro cold brew coffee, Starters we had the meat/cheese tray, the seafood tray, spaghetti, Branzino (which they bring out whole after cooking and then take it back and fillet it for you A++), dessert we had to get the strawberry shortcake and key lime pie popsicle - I could eat a dozen of each of these. Thank you Kristen and Bardea for a wonderful evening, I live in DC but will 100% be back!
Amy Washko
Oh my gosh, a gem in downtown Wilmington. Not to be missed - get the lamb appetizer and don't be afraid of the whole fish they serve - delicious. Service is excellent from start to finish. The fact that they charge for some water options is a bit odd for such an otherwise fine dining experience. Would like to see that end, it seems like a cheesy upsell. See what you think! Love it otherwise, will be back again and again.
Jordan Barrett
The food and drinks here are absolutely superb. Perhaps my favorite dish is the charred octopus small plate. The missing star in my rating is due to the noise level. When I have been there, it has been so loud that I have to shout just to talk to the person across the table. I would likely dine here much more frequently were it not for this (and I'm a millennial!). They really should consider some noise abatement.
One other tiny suggestion (this didn't detract from my rating at all): It would be a nice added bonus if the staff were trained to pronounce the Italian names on the menu correctly :)
Bryan Pattman
Bardea is the best Italian restaurant that I have been to in Wilmington, Delaware! They have an amazing dinner menu and awesome cocktails. Our service was spot on and everyone enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be going back!
sydney louise
The hostess, Juliette, was so lovely as she showed us to our table. Our server, Katie, was knowledgable and friendly as she led us through the menu. A series of small plates made for sharing, luxurious pastas, a section of thoughtfully done vegetables, and larger proteins options like whole chicken and ribeyes.
YOU CAN GET A 60 OZ RIBEYE, Y'ALL.
The cocktails are delicious, the wine list explores Italian varietals perfectly. Bruce, the sommelier, was incredibly helpful in helping us choose our beverages. We tried an orange pinot grigio for the first time - how unique!
I was very impressed with the young man who cleared our table. Very efficient.
Highly recommend! Definitely make a reservation, this place fills up fast!

A true crown jewel in the heart of downtown Wilmington.
Upscale and professional looks meet mixology and savant talent for gourmet food .
Efficient and knowledgeable staff make your dining or drinking experience one of a kind.
Prices are fair and the setting is impressive.
A modern twist on a refined idea.
Bardea delivers a true goddess of food and drink retreat.
Jay Lynch
Excellent. Great variety of meals to explore. Order multiple dishes for the whole table. The food dazzles the palate. Don’t be shy and try dishes you might not ordinarily choose. We ordered 5 dishes plus a pizza for a party of three.
Jon Howard
We had a great meal there. Very creative recipes. The prices were very reasonable. I’d return in a heartbeat.
The pasta seemed freshly made, but a bit too ‘al dente’. Service was very friendly, though not as attentive as a restaurant of that caliber should have. One in our party was missing a fork, he’s no stranger to the finest restaurants. He did the “look up from the meal, make eye contact with an employee” routine. But after a full 3 minutes, it took a loud “excuse me” to get anyone’s attention.
They weren’t sitting around gabbing with each other, but they should have a better eye for customer needs at times.
These 2 things weren’t bad enough to deduct a star from my review though. I stand by my 5 stars.
Raw tuna appetizer - 8/10
Gnocchi appetizer - 9/10
Cheese fries appetizer - 5/10 (fries too thin, became a bit hard)
Upside down pizza - 9/10
Pasta with lamb, tomato sauce with mint goat cheese - 9/10 flavor, 5/10 for slightly undercooked pasta.
I forget the 3rd entree.
Dessert - cheese cake 10/10, mascarpone 10/10. Dear lord, get their mascarpone.
Price for 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, 3 glasses of wine, a cocktail and a top-rail scotch, $125. I would have felt $200 to be completely fair.
Lynette
Insanely amazing food!! Fantastic service! And the atmosphere was a delight. Looking forward to going back! Our server was Chris....he knocked it out of the park!
Zuzana Harvanova
THIS is what Italian food tastes like! The pappardelle was to die for and all of the food we got seemed to be made from scratch. Originally from Europe, wehave been living in the USA since April 2019 and have travelled a lot but this place is by far the best Italian restaurant we've been to so far. Great service and ambience only added to the overall positive experience.
Heidi Bamford
The red snapper and grilled romaine was delicious! The service and drinks were excellent. We will be back!
Joe Marc
We ate dinner with a group of 10 people last night. The place was large with a rustic/industrial chic vibe and a large bar area with a cozy kitchen.
Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable in spite of a busy Friday service.
We have dined all iver the world and I must say we were very impressed with the food and ambiance that seems almost out of place un market street but very welcome.
We had almost every pasta dish in the menu but the standouts are the papardelle/gnocchi/monkfish and the cacio e peppe all of which were al dente and perfectly seasoned.
The ear of the woods mushrooms were great.
The pork belly was well prioned and succulent and the octopus was tender and well seasoned.
The HIGHLIGHT was definitely the roasted sea bass which was perfectly roasted with a well seasoned crust. The rub eye was sous vid and roasted to a perfect mediym rare and sliced to serve. The porkchops were moist and well exccuted.
Every dessert was excellent including the light panna cotta cheesecake..the tiramisu was unconventional but winderful..the chocolate tart was the wonderful BUT the winner was the pistachio ice cream which was really a gelato..it was BETTER than anything we have had in Italy!
The cocktails were well executed.
There was some hiccups in the pacing of the meal but there was really nothing negative about the dinner.
The owner even asked us about our meal and he was very warm and appreciative..
After La Fia and Amuse (REhoboth) this is probably the BEST restaurant we have in the state!
KUDOS to the chef..our very own Massimo Botura..
Phinon Woodside
So, here's the thing about Bardea. It's an amazing restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the attention to detail is absolutely top notch. On top of all of this, as if that isn't enough, every single person who works there goes our of their way to ensure that you have an amazing experience. Snapping a photo of their amazing wall mural? Someone may tell you the backstory of how the owners would FaceTime each other from Delaware to Italy all the time, and the wall in is based on the background in Italy from those calls.
Ask about a menu item and you will get and in depth (but not overly wordy) description of what is in the fish and possible why it is on the menu.
Have an event or something to celebrate? They will go out of their way to ensure it is memorable for you and that you feel like a celebrity.
A lot of places can create good food. Bardea's food is so much better than good.
Not a lot of places make you feel as welcomed or appreciated or as special as Bardea makes each dinner feel.
Now, on to the food, just in case you were wondering and have actually read this far.
Dinner 4/2019:
We started out with their assaggi - or meat and cheese board. It was delicious, and the cheese has been different each time I've been. The accompanying olives are the perfect foil for the creamy cheeses and the ideally paired meats.
During dinner I ordered the duck, while my husband ordered the spaghetti.
The duck was asking the best I've ever had: rendered well, portioned wonderfully to be able to enjoy some of the other dishes and seasoned beautifully. I loved the added kumquats which made the dish bright.
I added the root vegetable pave and it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. If you get a chance, ask how it's prepared because I couldn't possibly do it justice.
The spaghetti bolognese with mint goat cheese is obviously crafted with love. Pastas are handmade here and you can tell. The sauce was filling and light at the same time.
We ordered the tableside French press coffee and tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was presented by our waiter with a pour over sauce that I could have just drdru on its own.
Lunch 4/2019:
I dined here with a friend during their restaurant week, which was delicious. I'll be updating with photos and our order soon.

Excellent service and the food was amazing. Criticism for opening week, while I'm sure is just, is a bit too "Wilmingtonish" for my liking. Try the truffled toast, excellent. The Vesper martini should wash it down just fine.
Trust me when I say, it's a little slice of Philadelphia tapas, dare I say NYC. Original, thoughtful, worth the trip. Ignore the naysayers, let them keep with their fast food themes.
Tierra Wilson
The staff was amazing. Bruce and Gabriel made sure that we didn't want for anything. I was celebrating my birthday and it was the perfect place with the perfect atmosphere. We had the pappardelle and the rigatoni. These dishes were more than noodles with sauce. They were well balanced dishes with the perfect amount of flavor. The soft goat with the pappardelle was a fantastic touch. It wasnt just the food that made my birthday special, I had one of the best manhattans I've ever had any where and the Sazarec was strong and sweet. I hope this restaurant never loses it's charm and it's commitment to good service and great food. Highly recommend it.
Joseph Drinkwater-Andrews (Joe)
Really nice bar/restaurant, food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality and the service, our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and all of the serving staff were nice. If in Wilmington again, I would definitely return.
Only minor negative, the AC was in full force, so I'd advise warm clothes
Tatiana M
Wow. The decor of the restaurant captures you as soon as you walk through the door. The bar aesthetics are superb. The mural wall, gorgeous. Looks to be a great place for a special event.
Let's talk food. I dined with a friend and we were greeted by an extremely personable bartender, Bruce. He recommended the tuna tataki, upside down pizza, and bucatini pasta. We ordered all of those and the hummus.
Thank you, Bruce! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was not a lacking in flavor by any means. The pizza was reminiscent of some I've had in Napoli. The hummus was smooth as ever and wonderfully seasoned.
The tuna deserves its own paragraph. I am absolutely blown away. As someone who has been in the industry for 17 years I think this dish has to be top 3 seafood dishes of my life. The flavors are almost indescribable. Not only was the tuna fresh, the cucumbers were crisp, the passionfruit sauce balanced perfectly with the hint of spice of the crust on the tuna. What a medley of flavor. Such a simple dish yet each ingredient spoke for itself. Well done, chef.
We also had some of the in house made limoncello. Amazing.
I was unprepared for such an amazingly rich meal. Wow. You've exceeded standards of what gastronomy should be. I will absolutely be back.

Arriving a half block away we wondered why we were 2 cars back at a stop sign at the intersection infront of Bardea waiting for 3 minutes not moving. There was a large truck infront of us so we couldn't see what was going on. We soon realized it's because of the valet parking which is directly infront of the restaurant and a lady took awhile getting out of her car. It's a one way street.
When we got infront of the restaurant nobody was there at valet so we put on our hazards and waited. A few seconds later we had people beeping behind us because it's a one way road. I didnt want to be the guy holding up a whole street like I just vented about earlier. So we made a circle and came back, luckily someone was there this time. It was $10.
Now onto entering and dining. We tried about 6 different menu items. Oysters, Asparagus, Chicken, Lamb Skewers, Gnocchi etc. I had old fashioned drinks, the wife had a mixed drink. Every single thing we had was very good. I love going to a place and loving everything I had which is rare. Usually there's that one item that's below average. Not here.
I will definitely be coming back here and will recommend to everyone I know.
Will Bradley
Amazing (and when I say amazing I mean it), amazing food here. All made from scratch so don’t come if you’re in a hurry, you can head to McDonald’s for fast food! Everything is so fresh and full of flavor. The pachheri was simply to die for. Price is fair, I honestly think they can charge a lot more for what they’re serving!
achristy12
Bardea is a gem in the heart of Wilmington. Wonderful ambience with even better food. Our server was knowledgeable and made our experience a delight. Will certainly be back.
Nora
Visited on a Thursday and was surprised by how busy it was. Not uncomfortably packed but just enough to see it was a popular place. We had a few drinks and were able to enjoy conversation. The service was great as well as the ambiance. Will visit again
Chance Schneider
Something is wrong here. Made a reservation for 815 for my birthday. Walked in on time and went to the host stand told them who I was where I was told told it would be 30-45 min. Wait.. I have a reservation. I asked if that was typical and if that was acceptable here (no nasty tone) and she just stared at me. Mean while I'm seeing in busses high tops go un touched for 10-15 mon. Fast forward an HOUR they are seating walk-ins. My wife asked about the table and was told OUR table was still sitting and they only have 4 tops. You can seat a 2 top at a four top. Ive worked fine dining for a decade and never saw anything like this, maybe if the kitchen is completely crashed. Didnt seem to be the case. A reservation is a reservation, it does not matter how busy the place is. 5-10 min wait while you bus a table if perfectly fine but this blew my mind. Who I guess was foh manager seated us and when we went into the dining room low and behold there are Two 2-tops and three 4-tops empty... Chase, our server saved the day. On point and charismatic. From a culinary stand point the food was great. But I do feel you are being over charged for some dishes under the guise of being tapas. (Short rib pasta especially $18...really?) We didnt get out of there till 1130. I dont review much but the caliber this place is trying to be vs when we got really bothered me. Not sure if I'll go back, maybe in a year or so to see if the iron the wrinkles out. La fia, in my opinion is a better option down the street.
Avalon Nielsen
If you are in Wilmington, go to Bardea. It feels like you are in Manhattan, New York, but in the middle of Delaware. The food is incredible and the cocktails are just as spectacular. The staff is very friendly and the service is top notch. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else.
Lyndsey Cohen
The service, staff, food, and owner are amazing! Best experience I’ve had at a restaurant in Delaware. The atmosphere is fun and filled with energy. I can’t wait to go back!
Noreen Furth
Have not been here to be living out of the state. Bit this new restaurant for me was terrific. Loved the small plates and atmosphere. Definitely a place to go for a unique experience. Can’t wait to go back
Ray Pitts
Just finishing my appetizer the cherry bbq wings were AHH MAZING and the fried calamari delicious!! I had the branzino fish. I literally died this Mediterranean seasoned fish was unbelievably good. This restaurant is a hidden jewel here in Wilmington Delaware

Amazing food... Not large portions, but an awesome birthday celebration.. We left full, poorer, but way most importantly, happy!... And the service was phenomenal!
Travis Nelson
A nice dinner spot in downtown Wilmington where the chef definitely knows what they are doing. We met some friends in at Bardea recently and found the cocktails to be professional and menu to be unique and tasty
UMBRELLA DEFENSE
Nice atmosphere, a bit loud though. Food was tasty, but menu titles had to be explained. Overall, a nice upscale dining experience for a special celebration.

Very unique experience in the middle of Wilmington!

Really nice and very busy at 6:30pm. Food was very good. The appetizers are big enough to share. I tried the half roasted chicken. It was delicious and juicy.

Incredible place. Food, beverages, atmosphere was great.
James Doolittle
A true culinary gem, with fab bar service and exquisite surroundings, but with zero pretense. Don't need it when the food is this good.
Leonard Miller
Wasn't very good descriptions on the menu about what the food was. Fish of the day had alot of bone in it, But overall great atmosphere. Good tasting food and drinks
Mike Phillips
We now know why this was a James Beard runner up finalist!
Naomi Stump
HEAVEN or as others may ask for it, "Paccheri" (shortrib, caramelized sweet onions, provolone fondu). My husband had the buccatini which was delish but not as good as the Lamb Bolognese w/goat cheese. Added bonus for those that want it, free valet parking!
Needless to say, second time in and it's our new favorite spot.. Food and service were PHENOMENAL!
Geri Henry
The food was Delicious and a Great Experience every employee we came in contact with was Awesome!!! Keep up the Excellent Service. Were already planning our next visit.
Mike Prince
Really great Italian food in the heart of Wilmington. I really loved the calamari and the pizza was definitely unique and delicious. Beautiful interior and a really great addition to the area.
bob krajeski
Which is a nice modern Italian restaurant located in downtown Wilmington. one of the big positives is on weekends they offer valet parking.. one of my concerns is it is very loud show up for seat at the bar it's quieter. But good food...
Earl Keiser
The staff really tends to their customers. They are so knowledgeable on the food that they are presenting to you. The Ambiance is perfect. Such a great atmosphere in what a wonderful town.

We tried several different dishes, every one amazing. The rib eye was from another world!
Morgan Germack
Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. The portions aren’t as small as I expected. They are larger than what I’d consider small plates.
Виталий Моргунов

Speedy
Great lunch spot. Quick service, good variety, reasonably priced, and an upbeat environment.

When I was here, it was hard to believe that I was in Wilmington, Delaware. This place out-classes the town, and is a very nice addition.
Nate M
Between the exceptional food and service, easily one of the best meals I've ever had.
Scoutk Bartholomew
This was the best place during our trip to DE. It's kind of noisy but the food is worth it. Get the pork belly and the Cacio e Pepe! You will not be disappointed.
Jeffrey F
Sat at the bar and had a great meal and great service from Paul. Dayboat scallops and the paccheri were amazing. Great beer and wine, too. Will go again.
Juan Soto
Bourbon Rx, burrata pop tart, the ribete, and the pizzelle taco... yum! Great service also, thanks Eric!
Sabiha Khandker
Good experience. Friendly waiter.
Tom Johnson-Medland
This was my first time here and it was exceptional. Stunning interior that is elegant and comfortable. Great view of downtown shops. The lamb was unbelievable - and that is saying a lot because I cook it really well myself and eat it often. So moist; and, not fatty. The skewer appetizer features aged lamb which had a markedly distinct flavor - great rubs on the skewer and the ribs were a real enhancement. Mushrooms were out of this world. Cheesecake and espresso ended the meal with a fine finish. The server was helpful, kind, and hospitable. A definite stop when in the city.
A poem for my next book, written while at table:
CONTENTMENT
Is there a space in my aging
where it is an acceptable thing
to forget; a place where it is whole
to be weak, broken open, and to be undone.
Perhaps a knoll of sorts, where
it is really just fine to be disheveled of heart. To lay off being driven for perfection, and to just not iron
the creases of my life and work.
A place of unperturbed repose and unwind - a kin to Whitman’s need
to lean and loafe at ease.
It is here, in my me. In the core
of what I have built. Behind the busy
sidewalks of forward motion and
progress. It is here in the stillness
of quiet pause and hungering toward
contentment.
Collin Meese
The best culinary experience available in Wilmington. Rivals chefs table offerings in larger cities.
Chelsea Lee
Everything tasted amazing. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Going back tonight!!
yashasvi meka
They have an eclectic selection of dishes, and they are all amazing! It's on the more expensive side, as the portions are pretty small, but it's worth the price.
Rachael Barrett
Fantastic Italian fare. Not traditional (heads up). Attentive service. Wonderfully designed space. Highly recommend.
Rachele Sklar
Bardea has equally incredible cocktails, food, and service. Blown away by their calamari, oysters, and mushroom pizza. Highly recommend!!!

I would love to give more than three stars but when you go out to eat not expecting to spend 3.5 hours sitting and waiting for food..... overheard manager explain and comp some tables for desserts or apts, they were sat before some persons.

The food and service was very good but.....I had to use my phone to diagnose the menu, it was very noisy, and for the money, I expect more comfortable chairs.
Christina Ruark
Wow wow wow!! Every single thing we ate and drank was incredible. Before the meal was over we were already talking about the next time we’re coming back!
Susan Jean
