Reviews of Gabbys Peruvian Restaurant
Absolutely 💯 fantastic! Most times Peruvian cuisine is a guarantee for good food, but then at restaurants there are a few other things to consider. Gabbys checks ✔ all the marks!
Easy to get to location from downtown and almost every area as it is close to highway. Easy parking right next to restaurant.
Upon walking in, the friendliness of the staff is noticeable. Then the service our waiter provided was top notch. Friendly, clear, fast and with a smile always.
The ambiance is Latin feel and two big tvs show video of Peruvian travel, programs etc.
The food portion and flavor and value knocks it out of the park! Full on excellent 👌 Loved the place! 🙌❤
This was probably the best meal we’ve had in a long time. Definitely the best Peruvian. We are here in Wichita visiting family from Florida and we are so glad to have found this place. Great food, really nice portions, great service!
Great ambience, food was great, customer service on point. I had the lomoalo Macho. Great choice, seasoned perfectly, sauce with the rice tastes fantastic. This is not a lot of portion, if you're looking for something to fill you big time then this is not the option but worth trying this.
I had this great pot roast sandwich at Gabby's for lunch recently. It was delicious!! The fried plantain was amazing too! Great place! I already want it again!
Ordered the Lomo Saltado and Quinoa salad to go. The quinoa salad was refreshing but more potatoes than quinoa. The avocado was perfect and the house dressing was citrusy and pleasant. Beef was great but the rice and fries were slightly stale also the sautéed tomatoes tasted a bit off. Overall good.
Awesome ethic food in Wichita. Flavors were all great and the staff were super friendly. Not a big place, so might have to wait to get in but well worth it. Ask for recommendation ms on food, they were very helpful.
Amazing dishes! Don"t miss this if you are in Wichita.Servers are great too!
A fancy and elegant atmosphere with eloquently priced food and food that is classy and plentiful. Never has the flavor been too salty or too bad. Awesome service and it's just a calming place. I wish the restaurant had a better location so more people could experience it.
What a delight! Get here and eat, this cuisine is delish! Both of our dishes were great (I had Lomo Saltado and fried plantains), and worth remembering. It's small local place but do not let this place disappear. It's really good.
Delicious from start to finish! The calamari was so tasty- just the right amount if crisp to the breading yet not chewy at all.
Incredible food, amazing service, only authentic Peruvian restaurant in Wichita!
The portion sizes were large and the food itself was very tasty. The fried yuca was fabulous. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive. They accommodated us for a lengthy visit after our meal. We had such a lovely experience. Thank you!
Go try it. I ordered the beef sandwich. It was good with a unique flavor. Girl at counter was really nice an informative. Will be back to try some other foods, nice change up from typical lunch flavors.
Amazing place with super tasty food, thank you so much for everything.
This place is insanely good. The tamal was like none I've ever had. The onions on top were pickled or something and were killer. Inside, the masa had olives and pieces of egg. It was outstanding. I had the pork fried rice, and it was hands down the best fried rice I've tried. Check this place out.
Fantastic food, clean restaurant. This is a true hidden gem here in Wichita, KS. It was mind blowing, the food was comfort food were it goes beyond 10/10. I’m speechless when I first took that bite. Just bam, you gotta try it. It’s worth every penny.
I placed a carry out order and showed up before the order was ready. I had a great conversation with one of the employees and he was very kind, took the time to explain Peruvian cuisine. Just on that interaction alone, 5 stars!
I ordered the LOMO SALTADO and my gal ordered ARROZ CHAUFA with chicken. Both meals were out of this world! Bold, distinct flavors! We added the green salsa and it provided a very smooth level of spice.
I would highly recommend you try this establishment and expand your palate! I will definitely be ordering a meal the next time I’m in Wichita!
Absolutely amazing!!! I got to meet Gabby and her daughter personally and chat about Peruvian cuisine. Their suggestions were perfect and the food was simply amazing..... A define must!!!
Enjoyed it a lot. My wife and I had a very enjoyable lunch there today. Service was good though it took a bit of time to get food. Prices seemed maybe a bit high for lunch but well compensated by being very large servings. Food itself was great and also clearly authentic Peruvian. Will come back again
Food was so damn good, far exceeded my expectations. Staff was on point and very attentive without being overwhelming.
Definitely going back.
What an amazing treasure! The cuisine here is wonderful, with a variety of unique dishes beautifully presented. The service has always been friendly, and the prices are a bit high, but the servings are very generous. The arroz con pollo is particularly worth trying if you're new to Peruvian cuisine.
This place tempts me into making the 3 hour drive from KC. Don't sleep on this place as a local. Probably the best south American food for miles. Try the anticucho
Very unique and very delicious little place. I can tell that everything is nicely made and unlike anything I have experienced in Wichita. The waitress staff is extremely helpful and the owner is really nice. The restaurant is nice and clean as well and has a good atmosphere. The Atmosphere is nothing exceptionally fancy but it's cozy and homey.
Everything tasted great! Could taste the freshness in everything and the attention to detail to how the meats were cooked 🤌🏽
Great customer service too! …
Had dinner with my husband and a couple friends.. great Peruvian foods.. Yuka as appetizer is awesome with sauces. Love it.. we will come back for sure.
Great place! Tasted just like being back in Peru. The staff is super friendly and they are very quick. They are moving to a much larger location soon but currently there are only 4 tables so you may have to wait. But it's worth the wait I promise you. Prices were very reasonable and neither my wife or I left hungry so the portions are generous. Check it out for some authentic Peruvian food!
Delicious food. Nice, clean dining room. Our server was great. Main dishes were fantastic...and even the rice was awesome, and I'm not too much of a fan of rice!! However; I love french fries, and they had absolutely awesome fries. Everything was good. Highly recommend.
Great food, friendly service. Easy to find, easy access, with plenty of parking.
Consistency in quality of food and service as I continue to enjoy this place.
Don’t be put off by the size of the place, as it’s truly a hole in a wall restaurant, but the food is worth the wait! I had the chicken and potatoes, which was a large enough serving that it left you just full enough where you weren’t overwhelmed, but had enough room for dessert. Speaking of desert, the flan was amazing, probably the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
The staff there are so friendly and the food is wonderful! The picture is a sample platter. It has - CEVICHE DE PESCADO Tilapia cured in lime juice, garlic, red onions, rocoto
and cilantro, served with corn and sweet potato. This looked so pretty but I mixed it all up so all the flavors of everything mixed and WOW! It tasted so good. I was told this was a favorite dish in Peru. Also on this platter was
CALAMARI FRITO Lightly breaded fried calamari, served with salsa golf, green sauce and salsa criolla. Very yummy, and PAPA A LA HUANCAINA Boiled potato in spicy yellow sauce. Very flavorful. The last sample was something with chicken but I can't remember the name. This was my second time to eat the food from this restaurant and I wanted to try and give other things a try before I just stuck to one thing. The first time I got the ARROZ CHAUFA-Peruvian style stir-fried rice with your choice of beef, pork or chicken. I went with three meat and put the jalapeno season sauce with it. No it did not make it too spicy it made it perfect. This is a favorite dish already. Don't pass this restaurant by. Too good to miss!
Good selection of vegan options. The food was great and Fabi, our waitress, was kind and knowledgeable about Peruvian culture and cuisine.
Nice restaurant. Very friendly and caring staff. The food tasted great. The yuca fries were good. Ample parking space nearby.
We enjoyed our visit. The food was excellent!
I love trying out family-owned restaurants that’s not mainstream. Not only do you support the small local business, but you’ll get to taste the authenticity of the food as how it’s supposed to be. Gabby’s is a Peruvian restaurant that is exceptional in their flavors and service. I had the Bisteck a la Pobre, which is the beef tenderloin with fries, rice, fried eggs and fried plantations. Keep it up Gabby!
This place was magnificent! I have pretty high standards for Peruvian food and am an out of towner but this just hit the spot. Loved the ambiance, service was great. Got the arroz con pollo, lomo soltado, très lèches, and chicha morado and was super satisfied with it all! Would highly highly recommend for good portioned yummy food and fair priced!
Absolutely delicious food - it had a little bit of heat but I shy away from spicy food and I loved this. And save room for dessert! Service was top notch. Highly recommended!
The best meal I have had since moving to Wichita! They also have very friendly staff and quick service! Could not be happier about my experience at Gabby's.
Going out to eat is one thing but experiencing several things different made Gabby's special. I remembered the great food and taste when I was in Peru and here are those exact same tastes right here in Wichita, KS. I loved that it is a family owned and learning how the restaurant morphed from box lunches being sold to a full-blown beautiful restaurant with family all working together. Xiomara made it very special as our waitress. We were taken to another world while still being in Wichita having a unique and special meal . . . wonderful place.
First time here, I really like the relaxing atmosphere and the food was great!
It’s been a while since the last time I enjoyed actual Peruvian food. Adults and kids were overwhelmed by the amazing flavor. So far the best food I had in Wichita.
Great food. Wanted to try something new and different so we decided on Gabby's. Will definitely be back.
Delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their meal including the three desserts we tried out!
The food was great! The people working here were very nice and the service was extremely fast. It had good vibes and was decorated nicely.
I love this place. Everything we've had is delicious. It's a little pricey for some of the entrees but I don't mind paying a little more for delicious food. My wife and I ordered the Lomo A Lo Macho and the Pescado A Lo Macho for our entrees. We ended up ordering two orders of the calamari appetizers because it goes great with the salsa criolla (lime and onions).
The second time we just ordered the Lomo and got the Papa Rellana because they were out of fried plantians. It was 30 minutes before closing so no big deal. I could eat that as a meal it was so good.
The staff and owner are always friendly and helpful if we have questions. Definitely a great choice if you're looking for something different in Wichita.
I can not get enough of this restaurant. I go about once a week and get there tacu tacu lomo. There are great other options but I am sold on this one. They will serve you with a yellow and a green sauce. I dump about 3 things of green sauce on it. There are great sea food options too.
Amazing food!!! They are also really kind and the service was phenomenal.
This place is great! Great service, great price and most of all great food. I can defintely feel a true Latin vibe in this establishment.
I love the cozy atmosphere and the food here is amazing. Definitely one of my comfort places to eat.
Great Peruvian spot! Authentic flavors!
Empty plates say it all. Beef pesto is amazing.
Edit: Wowed again by this restaurant and great staff. Very unique food you can't find anywhere else in Wichita or in a 4 hour radius. Besides a family kitchen of course!
Just a great experience. Our server was awesome and the food was fantastic. Seafood and plantains were cooked perfectly, beef heart skewers were tender and flavorful, yuca was fried perfectly.
Great place. Something for everyone. Vegetarian friendly. Quinoa salad is amazing. For your beverage try the Chicha Morada.
To think that Gabby's was on the verge of closing in 2020....
Either you're the kind of person who is open to new experiences and broadening your horizons, or you're the kind of person who puts Ranch dressing on everything.
You owe it to yourself to try Gabby's once. I can't promise you'll love it like I did, but it is an eclectic mix of styles and tastes, and everything I sampled was delicious. Go with friends, order different stuff, and prepare yourself for a unique food experience.
my wife and I had an excellent experience! the food and service was great and a very pleasant change up from the "standard" fare of wichita...we will be back!
I've enjoyed everything I've tried here but but my favorite is the arroz con pollo and papa a la huancaina. The homemeade green aji sauce is delicious.
Great service, food was a little slow getting out however my Lomo Saltado was very good. As was my desert. Overall if your looking for somewhere to eat with very friendly staff and great food but not in to big of a hurry I would recommend it!
Small place with good food and great service, the young lady made us feell welcomed .
The food was very good loved the cilantro rice. It’s a cute small restaurant. It is a little bit more on the pricey side but it was worth it!
Great service and the food was top notch! I shall return soon!
Great home cooked Peruvian meals. Gabby and Rocio are great hosts in an awesome family oriented environment. Try the Lomo Saltado and the Seco de Carne.
Best Peruvian food I’ve had in the states. And I’m Peruvian. Give this place a try, it won’t disappoint
We must have driven by this place a million times. The dining experience was great. The wait staff was eager to please us and take care of us. It is Peruvian food so I found myself really pouring through the menu to make sure I knew what I was going to eat! If you're reading this you should go there.
Never had Peruvian food before wanted to try something different the wife and I enjoy it very well
It's like being welcomed into Gabby's home; comfort food that feels familiar but like nothing else we've had in Wichita!
On our first lunch visit, we tried the aji gallina, papa rellena, lomo saltado, & fried fish. All the dishes had lovely savory flavors, weren't overly seasoned, & came in ample portions. Highlights: Aji gallina is a mildly spicy shredded chicken in a rich gravy, served over potato slices, with steamed rice on the side - like the best chicken & rice I've had (sorry, Gram). Three of us shared the papa rellena as an appetizer, a fluffy mashed potato dumpling filled with seasoned ground beef/raisin/egg. The condiments were all great, especially the green sauce, which added wonderfully bright, freshness & spiciness that elevated each dish. The cinnamony, fruity chicha drink was unexpected & super tasty - similar to cider spices, but on a whole other level. Yum!
It was so good, I came back for dinner the next day with my husband - we shared: papa rellena, aji gallina, & chicharron. The chicharron sandwich was a ciabatta bun overflowing with tender pork, with nice caramelized flavor from sweet potato & a citrus kick from thin red onions seasoned with lime juice. Again, the condiments were a welcome addition. More than enough food for two, but we had room for an alfajore cookie: mild dulce de leche sandwiched between melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies, dusted in powdered sugar for just the right sweetness level. We couldn't resist, & got a chicha & a flan to go. The flan was smooth & creamy with the deep caramel top/sauce we expected - very good!
We've since been back for more and tried some new items. A recent highlight was the picarones, traditionally made with sweet potatoes and squash. The freshly fried, pillowy rings of dough, are slightly sweet and served with molasses syrup with a faint hint of anise.
These folks are so friendly & appreciative, & the food is what I'd imagine Peruvian home-cooking is all about. Don't mistake this for Mexican fare - it's become a stop in our roster of Wichita's unique eats. We'll be back soon to try the ceviche!
The food was so good! The waitress was also very helpful making suggestions of what to order since this was our first time. 10 out of 10 would go back and would recommend.
You can't go wrong with authentic Peruvian food. Tried different dishes and everything was amazing but my favorite was El Ceviche Mixto! Must try!
Our food here was AMAZING. This is my new favorite restaurant in Wichita! I tried the Anticucho De Carne, Arroz Con Mariscos and the House Salad. The house salad was big enough to be an entrée and was one of the prettiest salads I have ever seen. The Arroz Con Mariscos was loaded with seafood that was cooked perfectly!
We meant to take photos but ate our food too quickly because it smelled so good. We had the sweetest waitress who was so patient and answered all our questions and even brought us 2 different sauces to try with the Anticucho De Carne since we were not sure which we would like more. The restaurant has a super warm and inviting atmosphere. Eating here feels like you are sharing a home cooked meal with friends. I cannot wait to come back!
Fast, friendly, delicious food at an affordable price. What more do you need, what more can I say.
Went for the buffet and tried everything really enjoyed the different salads
Waitress was very sweet and accommodating. We had large group for birthday party. Food came out separately by tickets and was told when others got their food that they were out of hamburger so she didn't get to eat. Food was great but could have been warmer.
The food here is out of this world! Try it; you'll love it!
Great food. Something you won't get elsewhere. Recommended.
Very nice place, clean and good service. Food was delicious and well presented.
Awesome food, great service, definitely will by coming back
My husband and I found this restaurant online. We decided to go since it was locally owned and we wanted to support them. We have never had Peru cuisine. The server we had walked us through the menu. She was amazing! I personally loved the green sauce and my husband loved the red. We will definitely go back to try different dishes. The customer service was amazing!
Amazing ! Nice to have quality food all the way down from South América !
Very friendly staff, the food was amazing i tried a couple of different things my favortie being yucca fries, the steak and bean plate i ordered was perfect also got the item. I Highly recommend checking them out if you like mexican food!!
Perfect Peruvian food and great, kind service.
Excellent food in a small family run business. Gabby is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, give them a try, you won't regret it!
Great food, authentic Peruvian cuisine and flavor. Great customer service. My new place to bring family and friends.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING IF YOU HAVE ALREADY COME HERE?! 🥰♥️♥️♥️ SOOO GOOD!! 10/10!!!! …
Atmosphere is family oriented and pleasant, food is delicious, my only complaint is that their portion of rice is VERY poor. Rice is so cheap to buy and you order these plates with rice and the serving leaves you hungry. If you like rice, you need to buy a side of rice and it should not have to be this way.
Great food and service. Seafood tasted wonderful. Staff spoke perfect English and were from Peru.
Food is excellent, being our first time trying Peruvian food we tried a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. I've been thinking about the plantains ever since, highly recommend.
A hidden gem. I had the veggie plate and my husband had the Peruvian breakfast, both delicious. The food was prompt and the service was great.
This place's food is so darn good!!! Definitely recommending! Even the presentation is nice! Small place with really cute decorations😍 not too expensive, not the cheapest either. But definitely worth the price! I had the pasta Marina and flan. 👌👌👌
I've eaten here twice. The only reason I haven't eaten here more is I live 100 miles from this place. The food is different and just excellent. My mother’s cooking had almost put me off potatoes for life but I have never tasted potatoes that tasted so good. This place completely turned me around. The entrees had a wonderful flavor. The restaurant is a small place. You need to pick a table that matches the size of your party. Service was excellent. They were all so nice, relaxed and eager to help if you wanted learn about what you were ordering. Gabby is really sweet lady. The restaurant is moving to a new location and I will be following it.
One of my favorite places in town! I'm a big foodie and look for mom and pops spots that serve authentic and delicious food and make you feel like you're transported to their hometown. Gabby's is one of those restaurants. Don't let the outside deter you from coming inside. You'll miss out if you don't try the food and drinks here. The service is always so helpful and polite. I love hearing what the servers love eating here and they haven't let us down. The yucca fries, sauces, and seafood are always on point and cooked to perfection. Peruvian food is so flavorful and bomb diggity! I crave it often. It's pricey but trust me, the delights offered here are worth every freaking penny. Don't let this gem go out if business. Support this local hot spot. You will not leave hungry. You will become an addict like me. :)
FANTASTIC!!! food is delicious and tastes exceptionally fresh. Best yucca I've ever eaten.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! Truly delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Had lunch here for the first time. Everything was great. I am not the most adventurous eater so I was kind of nervous. But Everything I ate was great. I highly recommend this place.
My new favorite. So delicious. Best fries in town. Absolutely would go everyday if I could. Excited to try more of their flavors.
Excellent food, first time trying Peruvian food good variety of choices, vegan friendly options as well. I ordered the lomo and my dad ordered the mariscos rice, yummy 🤤 Highly recommend this restaurant, the flavor gave me Colombian vibes and felt like at home. …
The best Latin food that you can find in Wichita , also Around Kansas. Service amazing and Gaby the owner she is super sweet. My husband and I love this restaurant , everything there is delicious and amazing .
The best Peruvian food in the continent great service and a friendly staff.
I am going to visit you guys more often
Cozy atmosphere, delicious food and super polite staff!
The food is very delicious. Clean restaurant and it’s try something new! You’ll be glad you did! I plan to go back as soon as I can.
Great food. We had a party of about 20 and food took a bit too long and brought out at very different times. But the server was great.
This is a great place to eat excellent food at an affordable price; dine in carry out or delivered they do it all
Excellent food. Very delicious! Worth the money by far! We've never had a dish that we did not love at Gabby's! The cooking is magnificent and a super friendly wait staff as well!!
So Yummy! Steak was very tender. You have to try the Flan😊 …
Must try. Amazing flavor and great staff. I recommend the Papa Rellena and Causa for apps! I don't live in Wichita anymore, but I always find myself back at Gabby's anytime I'm in town.
Support Gabby's, Wichita! Their food is delicious and we wouldn't want to lose our only Peruvian restaurant. Excellent food, great service, family owned and local. They have take out but if you really need to sit down a spell, their tables are beautifully arranged for social distancing. Five stars hands down!
I love this place! Best fried rice in town! Best flan in town! Heart was good and the potato, fried, meat, egg and raisin appetizer is amazing. Everyone needs to eat here! Also the drink with the chunks of pineapple in it, delicious!! Can’t remember the names of these items but they are all “must try” items.
I honestly had never considered Peruvian cuisine before today, but I can say that it is not only delicious but flavorful without having a Tex-Mex type spice to it. The food was very good and the spices were subtle but amazing. There was not a lot of heat for the sake of heat but there was a little bite to some of the sauces. The food was plentiful and of good value. The atmosphere is down home comfort but definitely not "Hole in the wall". The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. A definite add to my favorites place to go.
Excellent food with real peruvian flavor!!
First time in Wichita and first time trying Peruvian food. Was not disappointed!! Service was great and food was delicious. Can’t recommend this place enough, seriously considering making the 3 hour drive just to try the food here again.
Very good food, nice building, and friendly staff. Worth checking out if you haven't been.
We really Enjoyed our experience at this little hidden Gem... The food was simply Bursting with Flavor and was Well Balanced...Portions are also quite Generous. Staff was Attentive and Knowledgeable!! We will be dining at Gabby's quite frequently to try out the rest of their Unique menu items!! Highly Recommended trying this place out!!
Very good food. The service was great. Try the Peruvian beer, it's awesome!
I was in town for business, was working around the corner and certainly didn't expect a Peruvian option to come up when I searched for lunch! I battled with myself over whether to order the ceviche as I typically would - but instead decided to branch out and order the beef stew. Excellent choice, I'd highly recommend! Also, of course, I went for some of the tamales, cause while all tamales are delicious it's not every day you can find some non-Mexican variety ones (and if you've only ever had Mexican tamales, you must at least try other kinds!) The staff were great, the guy I'm assuming was the owner was excellent, and they have Dr Pepper. Will definitely be back if I'm in Wichita again!
Welcoming, lovely staff. Comfortable atmosphere. I have never eaten a bad piece of fish, or beef, or vegetable here. My dinner companion could not stop raving about one of the sauces that came with the yucca fries. Her rice dish was so generous she could not eat it all. She was happy at the prospect of having it for lunch tomorrow. My dish had a nice light sauce on yucca, sweet potato, octopus, squid, steak, and rice. Each item was the perfect texture and flavor. At the end of dinner, we were both thinking about what we would order our next visit.
I did not understand much of what was on the menu so we ordered a variety and Omg everything single thing was amazing. Definitely suprised me because I am a pretty picky eater but Wow! Definitely recommend this place and we will be back! ♥️ Also, very reasonably priced as well. Can't beat it! Might I add that I have never tried Peruvian food
I was welcomed warmly and seated right away (granted it was 4 PM). I ordered the chicken arroz chaufa. It came with two sauces set aside in little bowls (green and yellow). I didn't try the green sauce because I don't like hot/spicy foods, so I thought I would be adventurous and try the yellow sauce. The meal without the sauce was already so deliciously flavorful, but, wow, that yellow sauce broke through the flavor roof. Please let there be a house for sale next door I can buy so I can walk over and get my meals here every weekend from now until forever.
My wife daughter and I got take out the other day and that place is amazingly delicious. The owner was there when I went their and offered me tea while I waited for me order to be finished, which I thought was nice.
High priced. Rice serving was almost tiny. Meat was the best part of the meal. Really good meat. The green sauce was wonderfully tart. And very different than any other place like this. Really seemed friendly, but also slow service no matter what time I go in. Stick to pick up/ carry out.
I came here at a co-worker's recommendation, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely return.
First time we parked our vehicle there, we wasn't impressed by the outlook. We came there a few time and the more we gave ourselves tried the food, they were awesome. Not only that, the service and staff very friendly and helpful since we are not familiar with the menu. We love to come there nowson because, very and they take it very seriously on Covid 19. Every table has its own hand Sanitizer and bathroom is small but very clean.
The food here is amazing. It is a hidden gem and I wish more people knew about it!
Wonderful food with unique flavors. Stir fry with rice and french fries? Yes please. Everything we tried was delicious combo of asian and south American flavors.
The food was awesome 😄. We met Gabby when she came around to ask how we were doing. We tried several appetizers including fried yucca and a potato casserole. Both were great. If you are not a fan of cilantro make sure what you order, as some dishes are served with a lot of it. We tried three of the items from the chefs suggestion. All wonderful, a steak plate, tilapia and shrimp, and fried rice with beef and pork. The cookie desert is also good. Definitely go eat at this place😂
The best food in Wichita, and possibly the best food I've ever had! You can't go wrong with the "Lomo Saltado"! Their prices for catering is also very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you receive. The atmosphere is very fun, as they have lots of Peruvian decor around the dining area! I will definitely be back :)
Very nice, comfortable place. Great food and friendly staff.
Pleasantly surprised! We drive by this restaurant nearly everyday and today decided to stop. I’m glad we did. The food was fantastic. The ladies that were working were enthusiastic and helpful with the menu. I ended up ordering the Lomo Soldato. It was full of flavor. Don’t overlook this gem!
The flavors were unique and delicious and the meat was tender. However, they did mess up our order. Thankfully we got free soda that tasted amazing. I would come by here again.
Something different, it was very good. Had the chicken as well as a tamale. Small family owned joint.
My wife, son and I went to Gabby's last night and were pleasantly surprised by the food there. My wife love the ceviche and my son enjoyed the beef skewers (both from the appetizer menu). The sauces had spicy notes, but were somewhat expected. The Jalepeno sauce tasted like a good green pepper sauce with just a splash of heat. We topped the meal off with Inca Kola (which was surprisingly good) and their purple corn drink. All in all, a good dining experience...worthy of return visits.
To start the service was great. Our server was very nice and knew how to answer our questions about the food. Now the food was amazing! It was flavorful and tasted so home made! I will definitely be coming back for more!
Absolutely love this place! Definitely a must go to spot 😁 …
Doesn't look like much from the outside, so I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was inside! Food was delicious and very unique to our area. We dont get many places this unique in Wichita. Very nice staff and very good food.
Wonderful Peruvian restaurant. Staff is happy to explain dishes to make sure you get the perfect meal. Loved our dishes, one vegetarian and the other seafood. Can't wait to return and try more.
This place was amazing. My friends and I are taking a trip to Peru and the staff was very kind and answered all our questions and even helped us pick out food items! I tried and LOVED the BISTECK A LO POBRE, and I highly recommend it to anyone. It had steak, eggs, rice, fries, and fried plantains. The staff even gave us a free dessert to try at the end of our meal. Definitely will be back as soon as possible!
Loved the food and the service! What a delicious dinner!
Surprisingly very good! Been to many Peruvian restaurants throughout the Midwest and east coast (especially NYC) and who knew an awesome Peruvian restaurant would exist in Wichita KS. 👏 …
This amazing family owned restaurant is full of authentic Peruvian food & drinks. The owners & staff are incredible, welcoming & make the experience even more wonderful. Be ready to try something totally new & to not understand half the words on the menu. But everything we tried was AMAZING!!!!
Don’t be put off by the size of the place, as it’s truly a hole in a wall restaurant, but the food is worth the wait! I had the chicken and potatoes, which was a large enough serving that it left you just full enough where you weren’t overwhelmed, but had enough room for dessert.
Came in from New York and was looking for some good home cooked food and I came to the right place! I ordered my food from the takeout and the very nice woman had a nice conversation with me and gave me some complimentary yuca to try and it was delicious! Also have the ceviche which had nice portions and great flavor and the steak and peppers was amazing! Yum yum and more yum at this place.
Just ate at this location and to be honest, at the beginning i thought it wasnt going to be that good since it is the only peruvian restaurant in the area.. but once i tried the first bite out of my Ceviche and Lomo Saltado i was completely wrong.. food were nicely served in a good size plate, tasty, beef very tender, chicha morada excellent, waitress very nice, friendly and always smiling, small-medium place but very cozy and comfortable, i felt like i was welcomed and i cant say anything negative about this restaurant, too bad im in Kansas for 3 days, if not i would definitely keep coming back.. i recommended it 100%. Thanks for made my visit a great experience!
It is obvious that the chefs here put a lot of care into each detail of their cooking. Every plate they served at our table looked and tasted amazing. We have been to Peruvian restaurants all over the USA and this one is my favorite so far. Pretty much anything you order will be presented and flavored well.
The prices are around $9 to $12 a plate but they don't skimp on the serving size.
As for the environment, it felt like I was in Peru again. Peruvians are used to being cramped in public transport and personal space is not an issue for them, so enter in expecting a cultural experience. The seating was limited due to having such a small local, but it made customers bond together. The large group that we sat near were a lively bunch of Peruvians with a good sense of humor and the owners were super friendly.
Very friendly and wonderful food!
Amazing food quality, taste and service
Really enjoyed our meal here. Food was great and had an atmosphere conducive for good conversation.
Outside of Lima, Peru these Guys and Girls are the Best...be prepared to wait a little longer for Freshly Chefed Food from the Coast and Andean Mountains...that is irresistible to the taste Buds. Great Ceviche...that comes with the Sampler platter is a Dream
great
I have ate there 3 times now. I keep telling people that they need to go try it. The food is very good. It's not greasy, the flavors are unique and they are helpful with answering any questions you may have. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and courteous. Definitely has the feel of a family-owned operation. My food was tasty but it was not in line with the price. I felt that the menu items were a bit overpriced and the eating area is TINY.
I was quite shocked when I came here!! I didn't know what to expect when I went there to begin with ecspesially sine it used to be a breakfast club... Now it's Peruvian food which im not sure what that means exactly but my food was yummy. I got some kind of steak and the rice wasn't bland it was seasoned well.. my steak had 2 eggs cooked sunny side up on top of it.. eggs were cooked nicely.. it's hard to get someone to make an up egg with the whites being firm and yelliw was the only thing that was runny which is perfect in my book.. then I asked if they had hot sauce and she gave me a choice of mild medium and hot.. I choose the middle one and I've never had a sauce like it.. it tasted like jalapenos exactly but without all of the heat.. I loved it as a matter of fact I've kept thinking about it and going back to get some maybe today. I can't get it out of my head.. lol.. the prices are kind of high but besides that it was yummy..
I absolutely love this place! I used to go to their restaurant when it was on Seneca and Douglas and I love the business move they made into moving to their new location. I have experimented a lot with the menu and I am never disappointed. The level of service they provide is excellent. Please, please, please give this place a shot
This is my cousin's husband's aunt and we went here for their rehearsal dinner. It was delicious and the best Peruvian food I've ever had! The flab was heavenly especially the choco-flan. If you go here, try the choco-flan it is worth it!!!
Homemade style with authentic Peruvian flavor, hidden jewel for those craving for different great flavors.
Really yummy Peruvian food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Any dish I get, I end up loving.
First visit and did not disappoint!!! Amazing food and the atmosphere was nice too. Will be back soon!
In addition to catering they also have small diner with about 5 tables. We dined the the restaurant and had an enjoyable time, good food. There is a lot more interaction with the wait staff than there would be in a larger restaurant. Since my daughter is learning Spanish, we liked the additional interaction.
Calling Gabby's a small restaurant is a huge understatement. Don't let that deter you from going there! The food is authentic Peruvian and very tasty. The Chef/owner has come out and discussed our meals with us each time we have been there.
I was actually happy to have been stopped by a train on Seneca for once lol. I decided to take lunch while waiting. Haven't had Peruvian food before so wasn't sure what to order. Chose a chicken pasta dish. Very interesting. Kind of a mix of Asian and Italian and Mexican. I will be back to explore the menu further
Dude! If you haven't been to Gabby's Peruvian Restaurant, you are missing out. I had the Lomo A Lo Macho and my mouth is still watering. Everything was cooked to perfection. The tenderloin, ordered medium rare, was spot on which for a thin cut of meat can be hard to do. The menu says it comes with shrimp and muscles but I also got squid and calimari so I'm guessing it's only when they have them, not one bite was chewy or in any way overcooked. It was all served in an agi amarillo sauce that was the perfect balance of creaminess, not to thick, not to runny. It's also served with fried plantains and fried yuca, my first of both and loved it but I could have done the fried yucca as the whole meal. It was honestly one of the best meals I have had in a long time. It is on the higher end price wise but I had more food than I could eat. I highly recommend it.
This was fantastic! I absolutely loved the seafood and the rice was perfectly cooked!!
The food is fantastic and the service we got was quite good. We were there at 6 p.m. on a Friday night and there are very few people there. I hope they don't close because they serve excellent food. I hope Wichita Embraces them.
Great 1st impression on presentation and the curry plate with the battered tilapia and seafood mix was amazing. Try having water with the plate so you can savor all the flavors. I finshed my plate with all the curry I can scoop up with my fork and knife. Pescado a lo macho is a must try. Lovely restaurant with many yummy choices of food i don't remember the name of. While in town i ate there twice to try more menu items. Everything was lively including the staff who were kind, attentive and helped direct food choices. I'll certainly be back
Very cute!! Authentic Peruvian food!! They do not offer alcohol but they are more than happy to uncork your wine for you!! Inexpensive, relaxed, and delicious!! Give it a try!!!!
I didn't know what to expect not knowing what Peruvian food was but damn it was good and the people were really nice and helpful.
Gabbys Peruvian Restaurant is absolutely amazing. The place is big, accommodating and clean; their staff is friendly, bilingual and professional. The food is authentic peruvian, with that flavor that makes you remember home. If you are new to Peruvian cuisine, try their Bistec a lo Pobre, you will love it. Their ceviche and tallarin verde are delicious. Excellent place.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world good. The Saltado and their Pork sandwich were some of the best food I've had in a while. The flan was much firmer than I am used to, being from Tampa, but I think I prefer it the Peruvian way. It has a texture of cheesecake almost.
Fantastic restaurant.
They have delicious food, great service and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the three meat Arroz Chaufa.
Made a stop for dinner on our way through Wichita and loved every bite! Not sure I had ever had Peruvian food before this experience and it will certainly be hard to beat
Amazing quality food, very uplifting atmosphere, prompt service.
Amazing food and great service!
I went with my friends and everyone chose something different... believe me, home style Peruvian is worth the trip. Oh..., and get the flan! You'll love it.
Driving through Wichita on way to Memphis-so we were looking for some non fast food with a lot of flavor...Gabby's delivered! What we ate: arroz con pollo (chicken with rice) and the rice was flavored with cilantro and the chicken was so tender. It was served with slices of boiled potato with a cream sauce and on the side was a fresh cilantro/jalapeño sauce. The other meal was ceviche which consisted of calamari, fish, and shrimp in a lip-smackingly delicious lime marinade which "cooks" the raw fish. The fish was very fresh and tasty. The service was so cool...the server explained the dishes very well and started us with a Peruvian juice which was refreshing and interesting. Great food after a long drive!
I love gabbys!!! Food is always delicious and beautiful. Staff friendly. They have a decent amount of vegetarian options, fantastic yuca fries, and the best flans I've ever had. Check them out!
Friendly service, great food. The waitress was nice enough to explain some of the dishes so we knew what we were ordering. Fantastic flavors and authentic!
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Wichita. From all the places I have travel this food is not only authentic but the people are super nice, the moment you enter it feels as if you were at an aunt house.
My favorites are: papa rellena, yuca frita, calamar frito, lomo salteado, ají de gallina, y los alfajores por favor they are always fresh.
The store was small but the food was fantastic! Super authentic and prepared with flare and expertise. I was amazed at the quality of the dishes in both taste and presentation. The food actually looks better than the picture! It's not just some hole in the wall. It's a good eating experience for people who want to have their first foray into Peruvian cuisine. Those who are familiar with Mexican food can start with the expertly made ceviche. If you're a bit more adventurous, have some carne de malaya (basically Peruvian brisket). I really think this place has what it takes to be a great foodie spot and needs recognition. Plus they sell Inca Kola, my favorite soda and a rare gem among soft drinks
Gabby's is my go-to restaurant. I haven't had a bad thing from their menu yet. If this is your first time, I recommend the Arroz con Pollo (Chicken and Rice) or the Lomo Saltado (Marinated Beef Steak). If you'd like an appetizer, Yuca fries (similar to potato but with a really rich flavor), Anticucho Peruano (beef heart skewers), or the Calamari. The huancaina sauce and green sauces are extremely good and I always ask for extra. Everything is always cooked to perfection, the service is great, and the staff are very friendly. Absolutely worth every penny that I spend here.
Get the papa huiracana its way worth it. The food was excellent and try that chicha morada drink.
I enjoyed this experience and was pleasantly surprised about how the food tasted so different from everything I know. I have never had Peruvian food before today and I definitely will have it again.
Service was also great. Everyone is so nice here.
This tiny place is to die for! We can't wait to go back!!
UPDATE: We've been back several times and have loved it each and every time. Thank you for being in Wichita!
The food is delicious. The meals taste gourmet. Its such a reasonable price.
Really delicious Peruvian food. Great quality and the owner is very kind. Five stars!
This is a very cozy Peruvian restaurant. The food we tried were great. The staff and customers here were lovely. I had good food as well as knowledge of Peru. I think I fall in love with Peruvian food.
Very tight spacing-small, 3-4 tabletop diner. Very good ceviche (both of them). If you want a quiet, personal dinner date- go here. Yucca fries & chicha morada (drink) are also quite tasty.
First time there. Marvelous little restaurant. Very classy and the food is spectacular! I will return!
We need more places like these! Have you ever heard of Peruvian food? That's what I thought, neither have I. I can't tell you what I ordered but I will tell you to order yukka fries. Those green and orange sauces are great, dip those yukka fries in there and I promise you it won't be "yukka". The food wasn't cheap, but that budget of yours won't be impressing anyone!
I was so excited to see a Peruvian restaurant open in Wichita. Have ate here multiple times, the food is always amazing and also love having Peruvian drinks available, like Chicha! I can't claim to be a Peruvian food connoisseur, but having traveled there in the past and ate to my heart's content, I think I have a good idea of what it "should" taste like, and Gabby's is great! My favorites are the Aji de Gallina, Ceviche de pescado, and lomo saltado.
The lomo saltado and ceviche is awesome. There the only two I have eaten from there so far but I intend on trying all the food from here. They are delicious!!!!! And we'll priced. Btw INCA KOLA is very good if your into cream soda and that sort of drink.
We found a new favorite! The server was helpful in suggesting things to try. Thanks entrees were a good size and the meats were superbly seasoned and incredibly tender!
Awesome food. I forget the name but I usually get this beef dish with onions n tomatoes that comes with rice and fries. It's amazing. Owners are very sweet as well
Very interesting cuisine to be had. I tried a variety of the food and drinks on my visit and was not disappointed with any of it. Try the chicha morada (sp?) for sure. Reasonable prices as well, just don't forget to ask for the green and red sauce!
The Food there is great, the staff there is friendly, and the restaurant is very well kept. My wife and I enjoyed the experience here.
The food was amazing and the waitress was friendly. I have never had Peruvian food before, but I am definitely planning on going back. I can't wait to try something else.
Gabby's has a very cute atmosphere and the food was delicious! Very authentic and unique flavors. If you haven't been here yet, try it out!
Make sure to search Gabby’s Peruvian Restaurant and Catering for more reviews of how great this place is.
It is refreshing to find a place where flavors are new, but homey! This Peruvian restaurant serves traditional food that is at the same time delicious to the eyes and palate. We had ají de gallina, arroz con pollo y papa a la huancaína, ceviche, and chicken sandwich. This is certainly a place to visit regularly for good food, and a pleasant time! Don't forget to try chicha morada and Inca Kola.
An absolutely beautiful place to eat with out of this world tasting food! You clearly see that they have poured their souls into the place, can't suggest it enough
We visited this restaurant two years ago. The restaurant is bigger now with more seats. The food is still good, but it just feels the "love" in the food is not as thick as before.
My favorite restaurant in Wichita. Nice family owned restaurant that is authentic.
1st visit , had a great dining experience with delicious food !
Excellent food..best taste...excellent services
We are from Arkansas, went to buy a car in witchita so decided to try this place. It was delicious!! And staff is very kind! Really recommend this place
Gabby and family are super sweet. Our food was excellent
The Saltado de pollo was excellent. The cookie dessert was perfect, not too much and not too sweet. EXCELLENT service. Our wait person was amazing. We will visit again.
Absolutely delicious!!!!! I ordered pickup through Doordash, and as I walked across the parking lot, I knew I was in for a treat because it smelled delicious! I had yucca fries and tofu saltado. It was amazing to see a classic dish reinterpreted for vegetarians! Soooo yummy. Definitely an instant new favorite for me.
I've never had Peruvian food, it was delicious! We'll be back!!
It was my first time there and I will be back. Not sure what i was expecting...maybe something like Mexican. This was unique and delicious. The jalapeno sauce was amazing!
FANTASTIC RESTAURANT! The food is absolutely authentic Peruvian. The service is stellar. I am so happy to find this secret GEM!
If you like Peruvian food, this is only place to go. If you have never tried Peruvian food - this is ONLY place to go.

Authentic food, friendly staff. Great place to go as a group for a relaxed evening of food and friendship. Bring your own bottle of wine, too.
First time ever, to try Peruvian food. There is so much going on here with the flavors of the food. I really enjoyed everything about this place.
I Love This Place! The food was delicious. Very similar to Puerto Rican dishes. Yuck, white beans, plantains, etc... yummy
Delicious food in a small family business. Found several things to try and enjoyed the experience. The sauce on the potatos was great.
Small restaurant with excellent food and super friendly staff. We made dinner reservations after attending a catered event in Kansas City. Both experiences five star.
Great food, can only speak to the ceviche, but it was excellent! Very cozy little spot, can't wait to try out their new spot when they move.
Love it. Food was amazing, customer service is top tier.
Quaint place with excellent food and service. I had the appetizer beef sticks. They we're wonderful. Highly recommend.
I love Gabby and her staff. The are first rate in customer service and their plating and food quality is excellent. I always enjoy eating at Peru.

Fantastic and authentic Peruvian food - so delicious! We are so glad we found Gabby's!
Delicious fried yucca and savory food with just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken dishes were amazing.
The best place i ever been the food was perfect 👌 hot large portions and the service was perfect
Truly International cuisine ... Peruvian. Family loved lime-cured cerviche. Bery small venue but most welcoming folks! Adventurers must try this!
The lunch was great. We were fortunate, it was late and not crowded. Can't wait to go back and try something else.
I've tried most of their dishes and everything is absolutely delicious.
Small restaurant, cozy warm feel. Excellent service. Broad choices to choose from. Authentic menu. Highly recommended!
I haven't tried the food yet but the owner and staff are super friendly and humble. Will definitely try the food and update my review.
We were just driving by and saw it and decided to try it. Was a very good experience! Very tasty food and nice atmosphere!
I'm an intern who's in Wichita for the summer and as a Peruvian, the food tasted just as good as if I were home. A must go if you are an intern or just in Wichita!
Would have loved to try their calamari but they don't answer their phone. Was near by and wanted to call in a pick up.
Delicious! Get the Lomo saltado and add a fried egg! Also the Peruvian fried rice and lots of other dishes are also wonderful.
Amazing food , great service
Best place in WICHITA!!!!
Chicken dishes were way over cooked. The vegetarian and beef dishes were delicious. Neither the cheese sauce and the potatoes were not great.
Try this place on a full moon for a full Peruvian moon belly. Fill up on the arroz chaufa presented by the magical staff. Then have your soul soothed by the smooth jams of chocolate flan.
Great Peruvian food.. Live their flan. Recommended.
Great service from both of our servers. Amazing food.
Amazing food, great service, very nice atmosphere. I reccomend trying Gabby's. Just know it's a very nice place and the price reflects it.
Good Peruvian food, clean place and good customer service. Ceviche mixto con chilito delicioso. Prices acceptables.
very great restaurant and great food very nice staff really pretty restaurant yummy food and it fills my tum tum and is super tasty way better than the food they gave me in jail (jk). they deserve 1 million dollars and they should be famous
Very good service, food was excellent, very good quality and flavor. follows COVID-19 Code. Definitely will recommend this restaurant.
Great food and hospitality! The lomo saltado and arroz con pollo were both delicious. We will definitely visit again soon
Fresh, authentic and delicious foods!! Their Tres Leches was wonderful!!
Staff was friendly and helpful!
We were not sure what to expect but we pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, the service and how quickly the food was brought out.
We went last evening and were quite impressed! Ingredients were fresh, seasoning was just right. Service was great. Decor is thoughtful and pretty. They were even able to accommodate my low carb diet. Instead of yuca, rice, or plantains, I got a side of fried eggs and side salad with the sauteed beef, and they omitted the soy sauce at my request. they even gave my husband a complimentary bowl of potato and egg soup while we waited. As I cannot eat that, I didn't get it. We definitely plan on going to this restaurant again and again!
Love, love, love Gabby's! It is delicious EVERYTIME!! Highly recommend by me! Does not disappoint!
Great food i have 2 visit again!

Great place!! Amazing atmosphere! Friendly people! Fantastic food. Clean and enjoyable place!!
Awesome atmosphere, decor, service, and food!
If you live in Wichita, you have to come here. You cant go wrong with any choice. I recommend the pollo or lomo saltado. Point off for the relative priciness.

The papas a la huancaína are to die for — I will literally mop up the tiny bits of huancaína sauce off my fork when I’m done with the potatoes. The arroz con pollo and Aji de Gallina are great as well.
