One of the best ramen restaurants in the area. I went to this location and the one in VA and they didn’t disappoint. Very flavorful and good portions given. The quality of the food is good too. I keep my bowl simple with the ingredients it comes with. One downside was the spicy bowl we ordered wasn’t spicy but it was still edible. Customer service was good. Parking is terrible but that’s DC, unfortunately.

Great atmosphere, awesome food, presentation and service . The food has so much flavor you can’t just settle for one appetizer. Make sure to save space for your ramen bowl the star of the show. Shout out to Zahara our waitress she was very nice and helpful. We are definitely coming.

The food was overall quite tasty, but a tiny bit too salty, especially the karage. I was disappointed by the fact that they didn't have any hot sake. The guy who served us was really nice, polite, friendly and courteous, but the bus boy was being really rude to us. At some point he started taking the plates away even if some of us were still eating. Not a professional behavior. I understand it's Friday, but you shouldn't work at a restaurant if you're gonna be in a rush to leave.

I loved my experience at JINYA! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Our waitress Camila was knowledgeable and attentive! My favorite appetizer is the spicy creamy shrimp tempura. Perfect spot for some ramen all year round. Will definitely be back 😋 🍜

This place is amazing. The ambiance is unforgettable and the food is spectacular. The environment will have you coming back for more. Sergii is the greatest bartender I've come across, really friendly and awesome at his craft. Everything is delicious here. The drinks are exquisite here. The presence of greatness is among this place. My server Darwin did a great job and I can't wait to visit again!

I thoroughly enjoy eating at JINYA every time I go. The service is good and the food is even better! I tried the Impossible Gyoza and they were delicious. It came with a spicy dipping sauce which was amazing (if you like spicy). We also tried the brussel sprouts … never had better sprouts than these. It had some butter like sauce at the bottom that I just ended up dumping in my ramen lol!

In my opinion one of the best ramen places in DC. I love coming here the service has always been great and have never had any complaints with the food. The space is pretty small and may seem a little cramped when they are busy but it is well worth it. Even the drinks they have are good too!

Really cool ramen bar. It’s a multilevel, long building that lures you in as a customer. The atmosphere here is crisp - black on wood with intentional lighting. Plenty of seating, both at the bars and plenty of tables for larger parties. Overall, just cool. The drink lists and food options are pretty solid. Highly recommend to start off with the Okinawan Punch (rum punch with a twist) and the creamy tempura shrimp. Both were excellent. As for the ramen bowls, staff will tell you there’s no best bowl. And after a couple visits, I agree. Each of the ones I tried were tasty and very generous in portion. All the way around, a good spot.

I visited DC with my wife and this restaurant is cross the street of where we stayed. Service is good here and Camila who served us is very nice and friendly. The food is great. We love the Jinya Bun and the Tonkutsu. The Original 2010 is a bit salty but flavor is rich and great.

When I first walked in, my impressions of the restaurant were that it was well maintained and cleaned. The decor was aesthetically pleasing with a modern look juxtaposed with an industrial vibe from the brick and corroded iron veneer. The bathroom was sleek and clean was well. I walked out of the restroom back into the dimly lit ambiance ready to browse the menu and order. After opening the menu from the QR code, I noticed that Jinya offers a huge selection of foods such as fusion appetizers and meals like chashu rice bowls. I went ahead and ordered a classic tonkotsu ramen with no toppings with a side of takoyaki. I waited a while for the food to arrive--on the long side for a ramen restaurant, but was excited to see that the food looked exactly it was on the online menu. Jinya did a good job on the presentation. The ajitama (egg) and the chashu slices were perfect. Slightly chilled with a melt-in-your-mouth umami feel. After finishing these, I was left wishing for more flavors and textures as there were only noodles and broth left. Though at a perfectly cooked al dente and flavorful, I wish I ordered bamboo shoots or otherwise to combat the monotonous onslaught of noodles. I could not justify ordering more toppings as its base price was already at a premium of $20. I couldn't help but to remember the fully loaded ramen bowls for roughly half the cost in the Little Tokyo district of LA. I polish off the bowl by slurping the broth. Bold, but not pungent. In the end, I thought the portioning seemed rather small even with the takoyaki (best I have ever had in terms of flavor and presentation). Had I ordered toppings to accompany the ramen bowl, perhaps the portioning would have been adequate. All in all, well done in terms of quality, but the portioning was rather small and left me wanting more. I will definitely come back again.

I have been to this chain twice and i was equally pleased both times with their vegan ramen. It's relatively tough to find tasty vegan food in East Asian cusine but this place is great for someone who wants to try vegan ramen. I am not a big fan of edamame in general but their salted edamame were also nice. Good service,great portion and will visit again

One of the tastiest Ramen restaurants in DC. They have two floors with large bar areas that take up a majority of the seating areas. Carlos did a great job taking care of us on the second floor. He recommended some delicious Ramen bowls and a smooth Sake that helped us water it all down. It cost around $83 dollars for the Tonkotsu Black, Tonkotsu Spicy, a bottle of Sake and the Brussels Sprouts Tempura. I highly recommend visiting Jinya to satisfy your ramen fix in the DC area.

I've been to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto and still Jinya remains one of the best ramen bowls I've ever had. Their Tonkotsu Black is just unbeatable. I love the expansive cocktail menu as well. This location is especially nice as its got two floors and plenty of seating. Even if its packed the bar seating has a high turnover rate so it's never hard to grab a spot!

Very good, flavorful, authentic and delicious in my opinion. I deducted a star because the restaurant allows for pets to enter and sit in the dinning area. That was unsanitary. I would recommend dining early as they do get a lot of foot traffic.

This was my first time at a Ramen bar and I had a great experience. The service and ambiance were great. The food was also amazing. I must say, I didn't care for the spicy tuna mini tacos, but the Shrimp Wonton Ramen and JINYA Tonkotsu were delicious!

The food was delicious and the server was very helpful. I enjoyed the mini spicy tuna tacos and the quinoa salad. Even more amazing was their watermelon delight drink. Since this is a nonalcoholic drink I asked for a shot of vodka and my server, DeJuan, hooked me up!! Highly recommend.

This is by far the best ramen....I have eaten at this place in L.A. also and they are both consistent. For me it's all about the broth and theirs is very authentic. I get the spicy chicken ramen...add broccolini and jalapeño corn. The service here is great 👍 and the atmosphere is for family and friends...great bar too! Don't forget your vaccination card at this location or no Ramen for you!

One of the best Ramen places in DC. Sorry about the photos, I usually take better pics but I was in a rush because the food looked and smelled amazing! I truly wished my mouth was bigger! Their fried chicken appetizer was surprisingly good...who knew. My ramen was equally as better. Nice ambience. It was really chill. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Healthy and tasty food with plenty of choice for all dietary preferences. California Poke Bowl was fresh and a healthier option at around 620 calories. Packed full of protein and healthy fats. The menu has the calories published so you can eat without guilt!

Here on a girls night out for the cocktails and Carlos + Keith took care of us! The food recommendations were phenomenal! Takoyaki paired it with the spicy tonkotsu (HOT) with the boiled egg and fried onions. To die for!!!

My friend decided to do a quick dinner here for his birthday; I’ve heard so many raving things about it so I was extremely excited to try their ramen. Unfortunately the ramen was not as good as I expected (I had the chicken spicy ramen), and some people who had come before said this was not the experience they had. I guess it really depends on the chef and the day but the ramen did not stand out and was not that tasty. The drinks were good, I had the sangria.

This place had the best Ramen I’ve ever had hands down. We ordered chicken ramen and shrimp ramen and both were very tasty and the serving size was very proportionate too. Loved the fact that the Ramen wasn’t just soup and noodles but a good amount of other things too. Really liked the warm sake as well :) Definitely recommend 100%!

Delicious appetizers. The Takoyaki on the bed of tomago spread was delectable. Tried the Choya Sparkling Sake which came in a wonderful bottle and enough for 2 glasses. Great atmosphere too as was out server Darwin!

I absolutely LOVE Jinya! I have lost count of how many times I have eaten here. I usually get some version of tonkatsu, but have also tried the vegan bowl of ramen. The pork buns are incredible, as are all the soups. They have a pretty good selection of draft beers and even include the calorie count of each brew on the menu! I can not recommend Jinya Ramen Bar enough. If you live in the district or are visiting the area, I highly suggest you check it out if your into ramen. If you have not tried ramen in the past, Jinya would be a great first time experience. I must warn you however, you may not find a better ramen spot, definitely not in the district. Sorry I didn’t include pics with this post. I will update it next time I go back, which will be very soon. Do yourself and your mouth a favor and check out Jinya Ramen Bar, you will LOVE it!

Overall good. The ramen was decent. The broth was great, the egg was perfect in the middle, great the topping options and ramen variety. The meats could’ve been better for the price, there are definitely some better ramens for less, so mostly average. The gyoza were good. The highlight for me was the “jinya bun” taco, I loved that.

This place is well worth the wait you might have! Went with a group of 6 around 8pm, and was an hour wait. The place is very spacious, being multi level, and the staff are nice and very fast! The waiter checked on our table plenty of times which was helpful for our mates who got spicy stuff. The ramen was EXCELLENT. The tonkotsu broth was very rich, and flavored everything in the bowl very well. The noodles were very good too, soaking in plenty of flavor. The umami miso had enough kick to it to be perfectly spicy broth as well. The only ding I can give it is that I wish it was hotter (temp wise) as I prefer to need to cool my food rather than eat it lukewarm right out of the bat. Overall very good place, it's no wonder they have lots of locations!

I enjoyed the ramen! I try a lot of tonkatsu ramen, and I definitely liked this one! I particularily ejoyed the addition of the garlic chips and the noodles. The chashu wasn't my favorite, I think it could have been done better. Service was quick and the manager was attentive. I’ve eaten at two Ramen places in my whole life. This has been my second visit. My first visit was better but this place was definitely exceptional! The broth was very good and savory and porky (i ordered the tonkotsu black) and the seasoned the egg was great. Noodles were nice and thick but be sure to ask for extra thick if you are a fan of thick noodles. Service was really good as well, my only issue was that my pork was cold in my soup so I had to send it back. They warmed it up very quickly and the meal was delicious. Overall 8/10 restaurant.

Jinya ramen should satisfy your craving. The "Jinya Tonkotsu Black" broth had good strong flavor which is always a good sign on that first bite. While being a thin style, the ramen density was good and balanced well, however the pork slices were a bit too much on the fatty side which made it distracting. The "Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna" small plate was an excellent dish to get that is recommend to anyone. The "Brussel Sprouts Tempura" I'd pass on as it lacked flavor. I'm surprised it didn't come with a side sauce as it totally screamed for some to help give it life. Side gyoza and seaweed salad are always dishes that you can't go wrong with.

The food is excellent, and there are many great vegan/vegetarian options. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. If you have a sweet tooth, the panna cotta and green tea mochi ice cream are both excellent choices for dessert!

Wow, such wonderful service! I have always heard great reviews about this place from my DC friends and was advised to try out JINYA when in town. Automatically when I stepped inside, the atmosphere was homey and upbeat. My hostess, Cassandra, was a joy to have when taking me on this JINYA journey. She made me feel welcomed and set me in an area that was great for me and my party, despite not having a reservation. Plus the amazing food was a cherry on top with the lovely service! Highly recommend to grab a great lunch with friends!

We had a few happy hour drinks (highball, sake, etc) and started with the crispy chicken, which was very yummy. For ramen, we had the spicy umami miso ramen - I was surprised at how mild it was, even after ordering it with extra heat. We ended up asking for anything to add heat to it, and were given what I think was a sriracha paste. This made the ramen much more flavorful and almost gave it the heat we were looking for initially. Good spot overall 🍜 😋

We had the Tonkatsu Ramen. The Tonkatsu Ramen and broth were flavourful and slightly spicy. The customer service was okay. Could of have been better. We waited for a while for our server to finally bring drinks and take our order. Once she did, our food came right away. She didn't check on us but that to me is okay because I honestly don't mind while I am eating. Will definitely come back for the food. The establishment was clean and friendly. They do ask when you enter to wear a mask.

Tasty vegan ramen options and happy hour was a plus! We were impressed by the seasoning of the impossible meat on all the dishes. It wasn't just cooked out of the packet and thrown on the dish but instead seasoned to fit the dish well. The service was not super great, but overall we enjoyed the restaurant.

Very cool layout. Our waiter was attentive and nice. Clean,stocked, well upkept bathroom. The food didn't take long to come out and was delicious. We ordered 2 different ramen soups, a rice bowl, and spicy tuna tacos. The tacos were a great way to start and I will add, we were surprised by the amount of flavor and freshness packed in. I tried a cilantro ramen and it did not disappoint. I LOVE cilantro. There was plenty. I am glad I added on the nori too. Next time we are visiting the DC area, we will certainly be back! I hope they open one in the Virginia Beach area.

I want to first say thank you to the staff for really making our 11th anniversary something special. They gave us free sake and mochi. They also included a lovely merch item since they were rebranding. We not only had a grand time free of being rushed but was able to eat in a well rounded, tasting and inviting environment. I understand that’s last year has been rough on everyone and to be able to go out and be greeted with such warmth made us feel welcome. We weren’t sure how to celebrate our anniversary this year but this decision was definitely worth it. If you visit make sure to order the tacos, takoyaki and the curry. The ramen was also amazing. Make sure to get it hot. The Tokyo Highball was AMAZING. Thanks again guys. Will come again.

I had their original Tonkotsu ramen which came with thick noodle. I had additional noodle (Kaedama) as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Service was good too, while it took so long for Kaedama to arrive so by the time it came the soup was cold.

Jinya Ramen was excellent overall. I had their Vegan Harvest bowl and it was some of the best vegan Ramen I have ever had. This one has impossible meat in it with added to the depth but the broth itself was rich and certainly good enough on its own. They also have lots of other options without alt-meats. The hostess and servers were all extremely nice, and the server was knowledgeable and communicative about any potential cross contamination of other dishes. They also had a stellar selection of sake, which can be seen on their websites menu. All in all, I will definitely come back to Jinya any time I'm in a city with one.

We had one minor mishap with my spicy chicken ramen but the manager was very apologetic and made up for it which shows this restaurant’s excellent customer service. Decided to have a dinner on my own Saturday night, as soon as walked in I found seating upstairs bar next to the whiskey room. Daniel immediately if I needed any help and soon Carlos introduced himself and offered assistance as well. Everyone was so kind and quick with service. I love Jinya and have been to multiple locations across the country. This was my first time at the DC location. The team was very kind. The hostess was very welcoming and kind. I always order the Tonkotsu spicy and this was the most delicious I’ve had at the DC location though all the other locations are great. The upstairs bar and seating is really nice as well! Was craving for Japanese Food in the DC area and found this great place! Jinya serves authentic Japanese food with a few original items on the menu. It was happy happy hour when I visited and I ordered their chicken karaage, salmon poke and pork buns. All three appetizers were well-seasoned and delicious. For the main course I ordered their Tsukemen or dipping ramen. The dipping broth was curry-based that packed flavor! I also tried their Tonkotsu black ramen and the broth was heavenly!!! I don't normally write review so I am going to give this a try, I am going to also be honest and polite--Location for a large group dinner was not ideal with parking unless you pay and walk a block--Food was really good but what really made this experience enjoyable to even write a review was the server--I work in customer service and I almost asked her to come interview at my job. Nat is her name, and she was patience with our large group and made us laugh and really went over the top with her actions--perfect example of someone who really love customers. If I go, I will most definitely be asking for her to be our server. Everyone in our group literally left tip individually for the simple fact that she pays everyone attention and didn't make anyone feel left out or unheard. The atmosphere and energy in the place was decent, it took awhile for our server to show up but all was well until we noticed the stench of sewage emitting from the bathroom area on the second level. A couple of the staff members agreed that it wasn't just wasn't" and I even asked a fellow patron. My main gripe is that there there was mostly indifference from the managerial staff and that I eventually displaced myself to the bar since the smell was overwhelming while I was eating the food (which was otherwise pretty good).

Had a great time at JINYA! Went around 830pm on a Saturday and my boyfriend & I were seated right away. It was his time at a Ramen restaurant and he got the spicy tankotsu - - really enjoyed it! I was really looking forward to trying Jinya. Even tho I’ve lived in the district for 10 years I hadn’t been because they didn’t have gluten free noodles. They do now but if you’re celiac you can’t eat them because they’re cooked in the same thing as the glutinous noodles so… kind of defeats the point. The ramen was just OK. We waited about 30 min on a Tuesday night, which we were totally fine with. But when we got our ramen, the broth was lukewarm, some of the toppings were really cold, and then the noodles were really hot. It made for a weird dining experience. Our server was amazing though. Very kind and attentive. Water glasses were never empty.

This was a ramen 🍜 spot that I just visited off 14th street. I had the sake (hot). The vegan creamy ramen, tempura brussel sprouts and vegan bun. Good tasting food and good service. The portion sizes are nice and fulfilling. It doesn't stuff you to the point of discomfort. Also parking. If you know DC make sure you read the signs and park in the right spot. DC police always ready to hand out tickets. The ambiance of the place is great and the food makes it better. Best for if out with friends or date. Reasonably priced food is try more than one appetizer at once. Work your way around the menu.

The service was very caring and friendly, heck I even got a free dessert for the small favour of making a review. Despite the gift I won’t sugarcoat my experience. The food, specifically Ramen, was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, I was even a little disappointed by the lack of flavours. I ordered an additional egg and extra pak choi. To my disappointment the egg was still cold in the middle and the pak choi that came on a separate plate looked rather lacklustre and a bit stale. At least the food came quick, a little suspiciously quick which may have led to that cold egg… All of this led to an okay experience, will I come here again? Probably not but see for yourself! I am here for the third time in one week. This place is always amazing whether I’m enjoying the ambiance and happy hour or eating delivery from home the ramen always AMAZING!! My go to’s are the crispy chicken and shrimp on the small plate menu and I always get the spicy chicken ramen. If you’re dinning in- Camilla provides attentive, helpful and kind customer service! Very informative about the menu options.

If you’re looking for the best ramen on Earth, look no more. The FLAVORS..... out of this world. The Spicy Chicken Ramen is sooo good, I get the seasoned egg added hut if you go crazy on the toppings you will run up a CHECK. Like the broccoli is like $2.25 and they only give you like 2 stems so its really not worth it to make your ramen cost double by adding a lot of toppings because you don’t get much. But, best believe it will taste amazingggg. I’ve even had the vegan options and it was great. The Jinya bun is fantastic, I highly recommend. Its not a shareable size though so keep that in mind. I’ve gotten Jinya over 5 times and I just never get tired. I’ve dined in and out & I don’t feel like the portion size was any different. Also the curry looks like slop but its delicious. Not as good as the ramen though in my opinion.

This place is awesome! I've lived in Japan for years, and the taste is most definitely there. They have a nice sized menu and the fact that there is a full-service bar 1st and 2nd floors, makes it easier to get a chair and not have to queue sit in or outside in this chilly weather. We did not have a reservation in Saturday evening ,we’re happy to wait for a table of 4 but they accommodate without wait time. We immediately proceeded to second floor dining , they got for us a cozy table. Server recommended few starters on special we wanted to try. Food arrived in a minutes , appetizers were excellent, exactly as server recommended. We all got ramens for a main course but Umami Misso is my favorite. Definitely coming back for more . Jinya is a great place for dinning even with kids , we had a 10mo old with us and entire experience were better than excellent . Manager Sergi stopped by the table to make sure we had a wonderful experience . Finished with mochi ice cream to complete our meal. 5-star food and service , will be back for more .

Love their hh deals and I recommend trying their seasonal/special ramens as these are always pretty good and you’ll crave them when they’re off the menu. The other ramens are also great, love that you can customize everything from noodles to broth to the toppings. Great service as well. A nice restaurant with calming bar-like vibes that primarily serves ramen and rice bowls with some sides. For vegetarians there are many options to choose from, although bit pricey, the portuons sizes are great and the food is very tasty also allowing for great customization. The staff is very friendly and I would come again. I personally recommend the Creamy Vegan Ramen with egg on the side with thick noodles.

Best Ramen! I have been looking for great ramen and this place checked off everything on my list. I highly recommend making a reservation because wait times can be 1hr+ during dinner on weekends. The restaurant is absolutely aesthetically pleasing, trendy, and open. It is two floors and gets very crowded. We were seated up stairs where it was a tad bit more quiet which was a plus. The Jinya bun and pork goyoza as appetizers were scrumptious. Flavor, texture, and portion were perfect to get your palate for all the yummy ramen you are about to consume. I opted for the sport pork ramen and others ordered the chicken wonton ramen. The sprout pork ramen had a very flavorful broth and thicker noodles that formed a devine bowl of ramen. The spicy chicken ramen was also recommend. Come here for the ramen with a group of friends you will not be disappointed the pricing was fair for quality and area. Beer menu also available and tastes good.

The environment is had a subdued energy that plays well for date night, happy hour, or night out with friends. The line was long and we decided to put our name in, 45 min wait was estimated. She took my cell number and sent me a page and walked to a nearby pub for a drink. 20 minutes later or table was ready. We returned and were promptly seated. Or waiter took time to go over the entire menu and we decided on crispy chicken and brussel sprouts tempura, loved it!!!!! So delicious. For our main meal we all picked the chicken ramon mild, spicy, hot. A glass of raw garlic was brought to our table with a press to crush. Added to my ramen and enjoyed the best I've had every! Ok so I had the dumplings and fried Brussels sprouts and YUMMMMMM. I know it’s a ramen bar but if you want something else, be sure that it will be delicious. Highly recommend. BONUS: the staff is incredibly nice, especially Darwin!

Authentic ramen very good service, I sat at the bar, and immediately was approached by our very friendly bartender Diego, I was waiting on a table and Diego referred me to this amazing drink call Tokio delight, as I went to my table I also had another great server zahara, she was very friendly and she recommended this amazing ramen tonkutsu black very delicious and the tuna tacos was also another one of my favorite dish me and my date was very happy about the service, I will def come back for some more ramen thanks Diego and zahara

I have dined at Jinya plenty now to say this is a genuine Japanese style restaurant. I used to live in Japan and this beef bowl is a main dish over there. I have had the pleasure of having hope as my waitress a couple of times, have to say she makes the best lemonade. Her service and smile is amazing as well. Definitely a place to go if you want to go to Japan to try some food without paying $1800 for the ticket.

One of the most asthetically pleasing restaurants in DC. Love the ambience and the food is delicious. The pork bun was a little light on the meat and I wish there was a little more octopus in the takoyaki, but the ramen was delicious. I got the Tokyo tonkatsu ramen, finished every lady drop.
