First of all, food was fresh and our server was attentive and around whenever we needed a drink refill or the empty plates needed to be taken away. Selection of the buffet was not that many but since its a Japanese restaurant, there was a lot of sushi variety. We enjoyed the crabs, crawfish and oysters in addition to the sushi bar. There is also a Hibachi grill where they’ll prepare the noodles for you. Then there’s ice cream for desserts for the kids. We loved the food here, the decoration and the service. Will definitely go back if we are looking for a seafood buffet in Virginia Beach. The Saturday price was $21.99 for adults and $13.99 for kids if I remember correctly. With the price of everything going up and inflation rising, I personally think it is a good deal.

Have come here every time we come to VA beach. We've been coming since 2017. Great assortment of sushi. The other food is just as good. Hibachi is on point and service is pretty good. Just walk around before you commit and if the food looks fresh and yummy, don't give it a second thought. Just ignore the waitresses if they are in a bad mood. 🤣

This place is absolutely amazing. You have to adjust your expectations for a buffet establishment, but the quality and price cannot be best. The particular highlights are the fried foods and the Chinese style food. It is authentic and incredible. Also, the seafood is fresh and outstanding. The crawfish, the crabs, and shrimp are unbelievable. Also, the staff, quality, and attention to service and cleanliness are very impressive. Even the fruit is so freshly cut and perfectly ripe. Will absolutely be returning every visit

Me and my family came down to visit Virginia from Ontario and saw that this place was in the area. The food and service was great, there was a variety of food to choose from. Lots of sushi and seafood, we were especially surprised when we saw oysters there too! Our servers were very nice and attentive, thanks! We had a great time.

This is a very popular buffet restaurant if you are into seafood. There is a great selection of hot food and an equal spread of sushi rolls. There is a small hibachi section but I opted to pass on it during this visit. I will visit again when I am in the area! Promise.

Was looking for another type of all you can eat/buffet for sushi. Okay selection of sushi and rolls, mostly heavily topped with sauce or fried. The buffet selections were decent, depending on what you're looking for. The raw oysters were the highlight for me.

Great Buffett. Everything was so fresh, fair price on a weekend buffet (21.99 per person) they have fresh crab and sushi which is rare in buffets. Definitely try them out you won’t be disappointed

One of my favorite spots, and very underrated. From the outside you would never be able to tell how amazing the inside is. The interior is beautiful, and the food is absolutely amazing. This is a buffet of gourmet food that is excellent. The price is also unbeatable.

I really love this Buffet. Buffet has a wide variety, from seafood to sushi. Now I have only been in the evenings so I don't know what the luch time consists of. Evening price is 21.95 I believe but worth it!

Got some crabs, crawfish, shrimps, steak, sushi, deep fried foods, soup, and all sorts of desserts. All I can say is superb. 🙂 Seafood cravings satisfied. 👍 Definitely coming back with family again.

This place is absolutely for sushi lovers. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the price is very high, like almost $25 including taxes. On week days it's around $15. I can't take sushi and it's not worth it to me. My son loved it a lot.

This is the best sushi buffet I've ever been to, period. Servers are attentive and very nice. The selection of other Asian food and hibachi really make it an "all around" great buffet. There's plenty of salads and desserts as well as "kid friendly" fare. To me the sushi is the star of the show and it's more than worth the (very reasonable) price of admission.

This is the place my wife and I go when we want a nice dinner with a good atmosphere but don’t want to spend a ton relatively. It’s 15 to 20 a person (military discount as well) and you get all you can eat. It’s got something for everyone whether you like sushi or hot food. The staff don’t over wait the tables so you can enjoy your food but also get your plates taken and refills right on time. Well worth it.

My absolute favorite seafood buffet. I make a point to eat here whenever I visit VA Beach. I like the variety of food and a great place when only one person in the group/ family likes sushi (that's me). They have a sushi buffet with raw and cooked options. This is the only time I can get sushi with my family and the only place my mom will even try any. Generally we stick to vegetable rolls, but she surprisingly tried a couple with crab and shrimp...and she liked them. We don't eat the raw ones, but they look good on the tray. Hot food options include milk buns, rice and noodles, Chinese selections such as sweet and sour chicken and spring rolls, crabs, and grilled fish. I tried a red bean bun, but it wasn't my thing. The milk buns, however, are delicious. They are the perfect consistency soft and bounce back when you squish it a little. They have a good custard filling. There is a fruit and salad section that I always skip because for $20 I want all the sushi and other foods I can eat. I can get fruit and salad anywhere. This is also the only place I get sesame balls and, I think they're called, red bean puffs, both have a red bean mix filling. Other desserts available were an almond cookie, honey sugar peanuts, cake, mousse, and on the way out there's a freezer with some of what you get from an ice cream truck including ice cream sandwiches and popsicles. Drinks include soda and boba milk tea. We tried pomegranate, not worth it, and taro. They taro was good but the jelly at the bottom was too big for the straw and wasn't the best tasting. Takeaway: eat here if you want a variety and at least one person likes sushi, I probably wouldn't go here if they didn't have the sushi buffet...make sure you look in all those coupon books that are free all over the place

You simply can’t beat the price! We dined in for lunch and the cost per person was 12.99 (excluding drinks, tax, and tips)!! They had a wide variety of food to choose: sushi, rolls, appetisers, dim sum, different types of meat (including crab and baby octopus), vegetables, wok station, desserts. While the price, variety, and service were excellent, the quality could be improved. The display of food looked a bit tired, giving the impression that it hadn’t been freshly prepared or had been sitting there for a while. Having that said, 8 hours after lunch, we didn’t feel sick/ill. Not sure if we would come back.

Clean bathrooms and quick service are a plus. As you never get a chance to have an empty cup before being offered a new drink. Love this place. I compare every other buffet to this one. Tons of parking. Friendly staff. Couple key point for not 5 stars. The raw oysters needed better cleaning. Had sand and bits of shells in them. The plastic guards between the tables (covid guards), needs to be cleaned.

Since food ultimately makes a restaurant, I have to give them 3 stars. The service is phenomenal. I think it's fair to say I don't eat sushi at buffets, even though theirs is the freshest I've seen on a line. The hot food is all I had. It's painfully obvious the amount of msg they use. I had to fish through the gelatinous mess to get clams. My mouth was extremely dry all night. I wouldn't recommend off the hot food. The sushi did look good, I just don't eat it from buffets.

After not eating all day this was the decided place to eat. Standard strip mall sushi buffet fare. The steamed crabs were good and I love eel and mackerel sushi where I find it. However the salmon and tuna sushi were a bit flavorless. But still not bad to get your fill of asian fare and the staff was friendly and attentive. Seems like the only sushi buffet in the area so recommend trying at least once to decide for yourself.

This place is about as good as its gonna get when it comes to all you can eat Sushi in the VB area. The hot food is decent and the sushi is all the same temperature but its well made. Their Korean fried chicken bits are really tasty and the coconut shrimp is heavenly. Price ain't half bad either. It isn't gourmet but for 20$ to 30$ a person it's a good bite. Give em a try!

Truly fantastic. We were so surprised when we walked in. Very clean, all the sushi was fresh and tasted amazing. So many choices! They additionally had lo mein, friend rice, sweet an sour chicken, hibachi chicken and beef, crablegs, shrimp,oysters,clams, lots of different seafood salads. we were incredibly impressed. All the staff was amazing as well!

If you want to gorge on sushi, this is the place. Also, many other selections of food are available. At this point, Yukai is a long-standing staple. Expect a wait during prime time. They have some big tables available as well. It's not the absolute best sushi, but then again, it's quantity over quality.

Wide variety of selections for all types of diet restrictions. Solid sushi selections and plenty of seafood dishes, and dessert are plentiful. Price obviously has gone up for all but still a manageable cost for all you can eat. Lunch was $15! Bona petit!

Update 12/8/22 It has been A LONG TIME since we have been here... well over a year. Their prices are a little higher but it also seemed like they have really upped their sushi options. And it was all really yummy and fresh tasting with many choices that felt more like a sushi restaurant than a buffet. They also had multiple seafood items like blue crab ... plus still the Chinese and the habatchi grill they fresh prepare. The desserts were good. I didn't see ice cream anymore but maybe I missed it? The did have signs that they added bubble tea to the menu, which my daughter would have been happy about had she been with us. I will as a the only negative- we went at 8:40... they close at 10. They were already actively rearranging the sushi bar, condensing and removing decor in a easy that felt like it was all about to disappear (We did not however run out of available sushi on the bar). They were also mopping and cleaning very intently. It was a little distracting; I kept feeling like they were closing any minute and kept checking my watch. Also, my husband is sensitive to many chenicals, so while I didn't enjoy having them mop right up to our table on each side and smelling the cleaning smells while I ate, it was actually very stressful for my husband as he worried if suddenly his body was going to have a physical reaction to it. I asked them to please not come so close by us and explained about his chemical sensitivityand they said they were not going to go right next to us, but they clearly didn't understand that I really meant it and that it could cause him a real problem because they still basically came within a foot or so of us on each side :(. At one point the smell was pretty strong - but Kuddos to the restaurant it was not insanely strong nor a chemical with additional smell added like we have experienced in some places.... so he was OK. I totally get that they were slow and I'm good with businesses using the time to clean and move foward for their night, but it was all a little too much, too close to us and felt too intense for it to be an enjoyable meal. I will not come back again if it has to be after 8/8:30 for that reason. That said, the waitress stayed totally tuned in to us, checked on us, noticed when we put the plates to the side and when we were done. I did not feel forgotten in the process of feeling like they were about to close. I would still highly recommend them! I removed one star from the total and service because of the rushed feeling and not really getting to enjoy our meal in the way I would have liked. The actual service of the food was 5 star. The food was still great! ___ 2019 My family has been coming here since they open. They consistently have great food and a clean location. I love the variety of sushi that they offer. It goes beyond a Chinese bar that throws on a little bit of sushi. They also have a great selection of Chinese and other hot food items as well as several great fruits and desserts and icream at the end that my kids love! For all of your food options as well as what you were getting I think the price is very fair. There's always something for everyone and they keep the buffet stocked and fresh.

Not bad, quality is as you’d expect for a buffet; however, the sushi was almost always cold and the tempura was not crispy. Sweet and sour chicken, shrimp, crawfish, and others were very good. Don’t come here for the sushi, but the salmon sashimi was a nice surprise.

Clean, reponsible and hands you gloves to wear while you eat. They serve my favorite salad, sushi is always fresh, deserts are devine, and the hot plate seafood dishes are delicious, plus oysters and fresh shrimp on ice. Top notch, attentive and friendly staff. Drove 30 min just to eat there.

This place can either be a 10/10 or a 7/10 depending on the day. The crab legs they have now are amazing and huge. Expect to spend maybe $20 per person. They prepare food behind the counter constantly, fresh sushi. Don't devein their shrimp though, which I dislike. They used to have an icecream machine that I miss and now just have hershey cups in a freezer.

Price is 5/5 because it is affordable. Ambiance is good. Bathroom is clean.Food is typical for asian buffet. Tastewise the food is average. Although, I gave 4/5 because the seafood was somehow fresh. Would recommend if you want to indulge and not spend too much.

Great Great Great $$$ for the two of us we paid $40.00 for two buffet and two drinks. It was wealth worth the money. When you walking to this establishment you walk into hardwood floors and an archway covered with lights and decorations and to the side is water flowing into a water pond area and someone greeting you at the end of the walkway. there are plenty of seating for small group and large groups as well as a backroom area if you have a small party for gatherings. The center area has sushi cooked, raw, and tempura As well as desserts, fresh fruits, vegetables, seaweed and so many more items. They even have a chocolate fountain to dip your fruits and deserts.. Along the wall they have cooked items such as fresh crabs fresh lobster tails and claws as well as salmon and different types of meats to eat and a whole lot of other items. in the corner that have someone cooking hibachi to order. They also have one area that has nothing but ice cream from popsicles to chocolate covered vanilla ice cream. The staff was very attentive and friendly always clearing the table and making sure drinks are always filled. Can't wait to go back.

This buffet was fantastic! Having lived in VB for a while, I never knew about this tasty gem. Recently visited with family from out of town, they really enjoyed the variety of not only sushi, but the hibachi and pho stations! The sushi was fresh(I'm picky about my sushi) and the seafood was plentiful. Yukai is definitely on the list of delicious places to visit again!

Had lunch there today. I moved to Norfolk not long ago and tried several buffet restaurants. This is by far the best in this area. The price is a bit high but reasonable based on the food quality in particular sushi. There is even sashimi for lunch. Soup is good not too salty like in other restaurants. Fruit bar is so so hence I like to deduct half a star. 4.5 star overall

When I went to Virginia Beach, I was here this place with my family. The service was fine but the foods taste just like regular Chinese buffet. I didn’t feel anything what is different with other chinese buffet. They also charged $6.99 for 3 years old my son. It is too high price. I was shocked with that.

I was in the mood for sushi and found this place. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Good selection of sushi and other standard asian buffet dishes. I really enjoyed the salmon sashimi. You certainly don't find that in too many sushi buffets.

Me and my husband’s 3day weekend getaway. On our third day we visited Virginia Beach, and looking for a place for lunch and we wanted Sushi and found this place in the internet, Yukai Buffet, Sushi and Seafood Buffet. We were amazed when we were inside the restaurant. There’s so much choices of sushi, sashimi, hot food and fruits and desserts. They have my favorite crawfish 🦞!!! Yummy!We had a great time with our lunch and satisfied with our visit with this restaurant.

Tried this place for the first time as a possible replacement for the husband's old favorite Chinese buffet. Not exactly what we were looking for, but delicious none the less. They are more geared to sushi and seafood with not a lot of selections, but what they do offer is good. Everything is fresh and all the staff are very attentive with clearing plates and refilling drinks. So while it's not our new fav it is a place we will be revisiting.

The lunch buffet is delicious and the price is very reasonable. The dinner buffet and weekend buffet is amazing! I really like their sushi. The quality isn't typical of buffets because the sushi is fresh and the variety is great! I also like their crabs, fried oysters, shrimp dim sum, walnut shrimp, octopus salad, sesame balls, and this pastry filled with sweet black bean. My kids always love going to Yukai. We used to go to Sushi King a lot, but Sushi King's quality has gone down. Yukai is so much better!! The service is good, the place is clean, and they are always replenishing the buffet. We go at least 3 times a month.

I have been to plenty buffets throughout the Hampton some of which left a lot to be desired whether it was from service or whether it was from selection I was not impressed..... And then today like raindrops from heaven I stumbled upon this placethat not only excited my taste buds but pleased my soul.... To start off the staff is extremely accommodating and friendly... The sushi selection is outstanding 👍.. there is a hibachi grill on the other side of the buffet bar that will leave you begging for seconds and thirds and fourths...... The food is never cold....and for the amount of food they give you the price is just right...if you're ever in the Virginia Beach area near laskin road I recommend you stop by this place and give your taste buds a treat...if anyone knows me they know that I do not play favorites when it comes to reviews so you can take my word for it this place is great!!!!!

Always a great place for sushi buffet as well as cooked food. All mostly Asian choices. There's plenty of selection. They even have a section for dessert. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current Covid guidelines. Recommended. Update 10/2/2022: They don't put out the baby octopus anymore and they don't consistently cook and put out short ribs, probably due to inflation costs.

Do not let the appearance of this sushi/hibachi fool you. Underneath the run down shopping center exterior is a real gem of a restaurant. Fresh, diverse, delicious food abounds within, with your palette being far more limiting than your options.

Very good food at a good price. Much better value then the Captain George seafood next door. They have seafood, sushi, hibachi and many of the items you expect to find on an Asian buffet. They also have a good selection of deserts.

The seafoods are best. The oyster are the best I ever had. And the sushi are wonderful. Except the dessert it isn't as good as it looked. But everything else is awesome.

Meh, I give them props for trying but maybe I am spoiled by having amazing all you can eat sushi. The food was just above average. I think it was better last year before Covid shut downs. They gave us gloves upon entering that we were to use for every visit to the buffet. Yup, ONE set of gloves... not a set for each buffet visit!!! The price is $19.99 on Saturdays and Sundays... a bit much for mediocre. If you are feeling like having an adult beverage... be prepared...I was not a fan. The "yellow-brown" drink was supposed to be a S3x on the beach. 🤔 They did let me return both drinks, so that was appreciated. Sadly, I won't be back.

Whenever I'm in Virginia Beach I try to stop by for a meal. There is a variety of hot food, but the sushi is always my go to. While it's not made to order the selection is excellent and great for a quick visit. The staff is polite and you can even grab some ice cream for dessert.

The business is in a rundown area. The outside looks worn, but once you get inside the decor is beautiful. The sushi is fresh and they have a tremendous selection to choose from. In addition to the sushi bar (which includes several types of sashimi) they have a dozen traditional Chinese food dishes, as well as fresh fruit, various desserts, and free drink refills.

I walked into this place not expecting much from the outside but the inside of the place was really nice! The sushi and sashimi were delicious and the atmosphere had a nice relaxing feel to it. The milk buns were for sure my favorite you have to try those. The service was also nice, I didn’t quite get her name but she was attentive and very kind so I made sure to tip well. The only reason I am taking off a star is because some of the food wasn’t the best, namely the baked crab wasn’t all too great but it’s still very little to complain about. It’s a really nice place to go to at Virginia Beach and it’s another recommendation from me.

It's buffet sushi. The sushi is subpar at best. The other foods are good. The floor is SLIPPERY AS HELL. I wanted to enjoy this place more, but I could only focus on not breaking a leg from how slippery the floors were throughout the restaurant. Skip it. Go to Volcano in Norfolk or Sushi King.

Nicer more upscale ish vibe than your average AYCE buffet. Had it been any less I would complain about the price. 27.00 with Sake for lunch for 1. The staff is friendly, the food is different than most buffets (think sushi, crabs, prawns, dumplings, etc, with some pizza and fried chicken thrown in for the picky). I’ve heard their takeout is a much higher level of food, but a buffet is a buffet and necessarily limits what you can do. Fun night out

This place may not look like anything great from the outside, but the inside is a different story. The entrance is very nicely decorated. They have the usual items at your tables, however you are given chopsticks right off. If you want regular utensils they are provided up at the buffet. The waitresses are all very sweet and very prompt with refills and clearing the table of dishes. As for the food, they have a great assortment of usual items you find at Asian buffets. The items that really stood out were there Hibachi Chicken which was crispy and had amazing grilled flavor. Much different than what I've had at other places. They had Miso soup, you scoop the broth into a bowl and add as much as you want of the seaweed and tofu. It was really good. Now if you came here for sushi, you came to the right place. There were at least 15 different kinds. Some cooked varieties and some raw. They were all extremely good and fresh tasting. I was not much of a sushi eater before this place but I loved several different ones here. Try the one with Banana in it you will be amazed. There was plenty of dessert items to choose from as well. With all the variety there was literally something for everyone. My whole family,even down to the little picky kids,were very happy. While I do think it's a little pricey, once you see the amount provided and the quality you will probably agree with me that it's worth it. You should definitely give it a try.

It's our regular place to be while in VB. It has nice varieties of food. Staffs are nice too. We love going there. The one issue, customers may run away because of their weekend buffet price. Weekdays are lot cheaper than weekends so try to go there during weekdays and if it is still decent?

In these times, dining at a buffet should make everyone think twice but their covid precautions ease anxiety without being obnoxious. They have a good variety and frequent food turnover. In addition to various hot selections, they have a Mongolian grill that is very good. I go for their wonderful sashimi, sushi and specialty rolls. They have a really good seaweed salad and a crab salad not usually found. Their dessert selections aren't that great but they do have a decent flan. They do offer a full bar which is nice. As usual with this type of establishment, dinner and weekend pricing is slightly higher and they usually have more variety at those times pricier selections and optional add ons like crab legs. Take out is priced per pound.

THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE BUFFET!!! This is the cleanest and most flavorful Japanese buffet I have ever been to. Excellent service by the staff and food was rotating constantly! It was the most pleasant experience I've had in Virginia yet. Every single item they had out looked fresh and delicious, the desserts were really well made and everything was presented very nicely. Most importantly the restaurant was CLEAN. These people know how to run a professional buffet and the staff and atmosphere really show it! They looked out for guests who were waiting for fresh items to come out and constantly asked if everything was to our liking. 10/10 this is how a business should run 24/7

Out here on vacation, 2nd time here in the past 3 years. Good friendly service, attentive and answered all our questions. Let us look at the buffet first. Switched out the hibachi utensils so our food wasn't cooked with the other meat choices of other customers. 19.99 reasonably priced for what you get. Not the cleanest but certainly not dirty to alarming levels. Saw employees constantly cleaning, wiping and sweeping. Servers answered all our questions and even asked the managers what kind of broth was in the soup. Pretty transparent and our server was a girl from Ukraine, super good service and went to lengths 3 times to try to find us crackers to Crack the crab legs and craw fish. She was great and the other employees were nice and attentive. Good selection of food and everything was hot for the most part. Good experience.

The only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because they did not have General Tso's chicken or doughnuts on the buffet. Other than that, dinner was great. Personally, I have never cared much for buffet style restaurants bc food is old or empty or just plain gross tasting. But here, when they ran low on something I went back up a couple mins later and it was full again ! I couldn't believe it ! That nvr happens at a buffet lol ! Well worth the money and my husband and I will Def be back. Just hoping next time there will be General Tso's and doughnuts

Hot food is really good. Pretty greasy but that's par for buffet and most cheap food. Lots of seafood options like crabs. The sushi is pretty terrible. About 8 years ago it was the bomb but has just declined since. They rice is bland even for rice. The hot food and great customer service are worth the go.

I have only been to this buffet twice. The first time was MANY years ago and I thought it was a great location. After reading the reviews I decided to revisit this eatery. I gotta say it was JUST ok. I wasn't blown away nor was I disappointed. I'm not certain if COVID-19 was the sole contributing factor or was it just the natural decline that sometimes happens with some establishments. Nonetheless, it was ok and I wouldn't be greatly opposed to going back. Staff was efficient and courteous.

Great variety. Good sushi at a reasonable price. No line up at the time that we went. Captain George Buffet next door had a lineup at the time. Glad we pick the right place for the right price. Attentive staff - although they got on our nerve a little bit when they tried to move our stroller (with a sleeping baby inside) to a higher traffic area to accommodate a larger group of people despite the fact that there are other tables available.

Probably the best bang-for-your-buck Asian buffet in VA Beach, and perhaps this part of Virginia! Sushi is fresh, frequently replenished, and has a nice variety. Decent sashimi too. I like the pho options, and my wife likes the extensive seafood choices. As always, good kids options. Waitstaff is friendly and prompt. Highly recommend for $20/pp for dinner :)

Anytime we come from Wilmington NC area,up to Virginia Beach to visit our Son who is enlisted in the Navy this is our "go to" ,"must stop here" place to go!! Amazing selection!! From fresh made sushi with many choices,to unique salads ,fresh fruit , desserts, soup,your typical offerings, with a lot of unique dishes that varies not just the same choices every single time! They have fresh seafood dishes lunch and dinner both although we visited on a Saturday. Even there dessert area has multiple choices , as well as a lot of fresh fruit choices. Food is decent for a buffet. They offer pho and hibachi. Hibachi is the better option since your food will be made fresh, as opposed to sitting in a heating bin for who knows how long. Sushi options are good, but I wish they would keep up. At least 5 of the 12 plates were empty. Desserts were good, except the cake, which said it was mocha, but according to my daughter, just tasted like old cake. Hit the ice cream freezer instead. I suppose the prices went up post covid. Buffet and a drink is 25 per person, which is a bit steep.

Really surprising how good the food and yes even the sushi was. Sushi at a buffet sounds like a bad idea but they have so many people eating it that the sushi is constantly fresh. No it's not the best sushi I have ever had, but it's the best sushi from a buffet I have ever had. The rest of the buffet is pretty typical with a variety of Asian and American food. They also have hibachi, but I didn't try it so I can't comment. Overall a very good selection of food at a very reasonable price and we will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

This place has something for everyone. There is a large variety of sushi available as well as a hibachi window, seafood, classic American food, and desserts. The sushi isn’t the best that I’ve ever had but it’s still good quality and the price is right; especially during lunch time. The only issue that I’ve experienced was with the attentiveness of the wait staff. If you stay long enough they have a tendency to ignore you. This makes it difficult to get refills on water and even to flag down a server for the bill. Last time I was here it took 10-15 minutes to wave someone over for the bill. It seemed as if they were actively ignoring us. To be fair they work off of tips so they need turnover, but I don’t think that spending 2 hours at a buffet is unreasonable. However, this issue is not bad enough to prevent me from returning. I highly recommend this place.

This place was great! Had all my favorites, with the exception of mei fun, which was a small bummer. Nevertheless, all the food was hot and everything was fresh. This Sushi place is okay, it’s clean, parking space is alot. We had an OK experience. Their sushis lacks freshness 2/10. The used alot of imitation style meat. For a location that is near water you expect that freshness is there. Also they only give you one gloves to use. Staff does not pay attention who wears gloves so I had to tell them since one person was digging wasabi with their spoon. Would I recommend it to a friend? No. This is nothing compared to Minado.

It's ok, I wasn't impressed, paid a small fortune for our family of 5 & could have ate better somewhere else for the same amount of money! I'm not a sushi fan so this may make a difference for some people who are. The hot food isn't the best. I would not eat there again.

The food is great here with a variety of food for all taste. It's fresh and the staff is friendly. There's a grill for your own fresh choice as well. There's sushi and great seafood of all kinds with all kinds of Asian and American foods. It's family oriented crowds because it's average priced. I've never had a negative food experience. There are chefs for each section. Great eats.

I have been enjoying Yukai for 3 years. Manager is nice and polite. The waitresses and waiter are very attentive. They have nice selection on buffet. Hibachi grill is definitely the best in beach. I go here quite frequently for lunch and dinner. Great prices, great food, never got sick. I was wary about a sushi buffet but it always taste fresh to me. I mainly get the sushi. They also have a Hibachi Grill and a whole bunch of the classic Chinese/Japanese cooked food. Would definitely recommend for yourself, a date, or family.

Food was as expected. Buffet layout. Lots of food to choose from. I didn't know they had a grill to prepare your Mongolian style dish right then. So that was cool. The waitress was great. Our tables drinks were always fresh and the plates were cleaned up a we went back for more. Great way to try a lot of new items in small quantities. Good lunch spot.

When you walk to the buffet area its two different option areas. You can choose from a variety of different sushi, salads and fruit, fondue, hibachi, and delicious Chinese food. I am a regular, so to me everything here is delicious. I love the sushi here the most. I never share and I don't take the time to read what kind it is because I want to experience the sushi in a different way. My friend enjoyed his Chinese food options. He even tried a volcano roll and enjoyed it as well.

I've been coming here for years. Their sushi buffet is the very finest I've ever seen! The cooked foods buffet is quite good as well. Hibachi is tasty too. Pho is an option I haven't tried yet. If you have any room left, the desserts and chocolate waterfall will take care of you! Bring your appetite and be careful, you can easily overshoot the mark with all the options available at Yukai. My favorite buffet restaurant ever!

And you can watch the chef's preparing the sushi so you know what goes on the bar is fresh. The wait staff leaves a little to be desired at times. And prices are higher on weekends and holidays. Overall decent place.

I regularly go for dinner with friends or family. The food and price are great, but service is generally not so good. The servers are all Chinese and they'll not be too kind if you are especially other than white. How do I know? Because I am the same ethnicity and understand their conversation about customers' tip, looks, etc. The waitresses constantly change, and service never improves. Like I said, I am a regularly visiting customer. I like to go there just because I don't have to wait to order the food; quick eat and go back to work or home.

The next day my husband checked his bank statement an they charged his card 108.00 instead of what we wrote on the receipt. This is bad business. Us filling out the receipt is what should have been charged ' not you going back an charging the amount to your convenience. Will not come back.

Tourist score! We wanted crab legs. Got them! Sushi, raw oysters, sashimi, clams, muscles, blue crab, baby octopus, shrimp.... the list goes on. Start to dessert we were not disappointed. For two adults our total was less then 34$. Awesome for the prices of seafood on the strip. So satisfied. Great sushi selection. This is a QUALITY buffet, the buffet it's self and the interior of the restaurant are well kept and cared for.

okay, this is a Chinese buffet, so there's probably very little more I need to write to give you an idea what's going on here. I can say that their selection of sushi was quite extensive, probably about two times what I'm used to seeing at a Chinese buffet. I had to take off a star because they didn't have the sugar rolls that are a main staple of places such as this. The service was fantastic and friendly and the selection was great. I rate the sushi a 7.5 out of 10 but that scale includes sushi in California which probably isn't fair. The dessert selection was a little anemic. I left 14 pounds heavier than I entered, so there you go.

This is my favorite Oriental buffet in Hampton Roads and i have been to most of them. They have a very wide selection and the food is always good. The Sushi bar is excellent. Lots of variety to choose from. I especially like the sushimi. The have several species to choose from. I also like the cooked shrimp which are already peeled unlike most. The waitstaff is excellent, very attentive. They are much more diverse than other buffets - mostly a mix of Asian and Eastern European it seems. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Why I loved this place, 1 word: Sushi! It was not over crowded while I was there, but I was also there very late. Which I felt guilty for. But the sushi kept coming the rest of the buffet was amazing as well! The staff was awesome and for 3 people, so was the price! Especially with one being a picky 9 year old.

This a post-covid review, they just opened back up with a slightly smaller selection than before, no hibachi grill but the sushi was excellent they had all the typical chinese buffet favorites and desserts, the prices are decent and our waitress was really nice, they required you have a mask and use the provided disposable plastic gloves when you went up for food. My kids were there without masks and they didnt say anything. I appreciated the effort they took keeping things clean and safe.

Very good food! Evrything at the buffet is labeled and fresh everytime you go back for more! Our server Eric, was NOT like the usual overwhelming, stand over your shoulder, and wait for you to fart server. .lol sorry to be that way but these days it's what servers do, but he was amazing and made sure we had plenty of napkins and our beverages were always filled. The only thing I'd change, is they provide an extra pair of gloves because you can't keep using the same pair at the buffet without them getting somewhat ripped or some sauce on them. All and all I give this place almost 5 STARS;-)

Come here once a month with friends and food is usually good. This past visit food was not as good as usual and several items were either not labeled or mislabeled...which can be rather dangerous for people with food allergies. Place is usually pretty good and everyone can have on off day every now and then, so they still get 4 stars from me.

The sushi has been a good value for several years. We've been taking the small journey from South Chesapeake to Laskin when we're in the mood for sushi for most of them. Do yourself a favor and go on a Friday, but not a Sunday. You'll have a better selection. Also note they have a full regular Chinese style buffet in addition to the sushi.

The staff here is amazing. Very polite and courteous. My wife and 8yr old daughter absolutely loved the food. I was even able to get the little one to try squid and calamari. Im not sure about some of the other reviews but their is a huge variety of food to choose from and the Hibachi grill is pretty good also.

I love the variety of the sushi and the desert bar, I didn't have the chance to go to the crab area and crawfish but I will definitely will the next time. Stumbled up on this place while going to Captain Georges to pay three times as much! Don't let the outside of the building fool you because it looks sketch at first. The inside is nice and its clean. If you like sushi and want a variety in a buffet setting then this is the place to go. If you don't know whether you like sushi this is the place to go because there is a huge variety and after all it's a buffet so if you don't like it don't eat it and go get something else lol. Great way to experience new things. I have been here every time I have been to VA Beach now.

Very friendly service. At 730 we walked in with no wait. Sushi/Sashimi was predominantly fresh. I watched the sushi chefs regularly rotate the fish to keep freshness. The selection was an array of popular types of fish. Hibachi grill offered variety and tasted very good. The kids ate pizza, french fries, and cookies. The ice cream while limited in flavors did not disappoint. I recommend this location it is family friendly and you can eat your weight in fresh fish.

It's been awhile since I've been here and the quality has dropped a little. Some of the rice in the sushi rolls was stale. The hibachi grill was good but they should have hand sanitizer close by from touching the tongs. Some of the desserts were stale as well. All in all it was okay. For the price and ambiance, this is a fantastic sushi buffet. The food quality is good and you have a massive plethora of items to choose from including sushi rolls or sashimi or even hibachi and dessert options. The waiting staff are all very kind and help get empty plates and refills taken care of very quickly. Parking is ample for the most part within the shopping mall, but it can fill up on busy nights. Usually there is enough seating that you won't have to wait, unless you come in the heat of dinner rush, but even then the wait times are more than reasonable. Overall a great location and my favorite sushi buffet in the are, far surpasses the quality of places like sushi king.

I read reviews before coming here. Perhaps my tastes are different than the average person going to an asian buffet. I grew up in a city where the asian population is higher. The food overall is good, but the variety is not as claimed. It says 40 types of sushi, my visit there is closer to 20 types and only 1 type of vegetarian sushi. Better than bug mouth, but I prefer Hichachi supreme buffet sushi bar and grill on Broad street in Richmond. The service is as good as the food there. Not to say my experience here was bad or that the food is not good. Just not the best I have been to so far.

Menu is pretty much the same as always which I don't really mind. They do add some new dishes and all few times. Quality of the food is about average i would say considering it's a buffet, do not expect some 5 star quality. Price is not bad too. Great place for the dinner with your friends or families. The selection is large and includes many nice seafood options as well as other Asian dishes. The sushi is supposed to be the big draw here and it wasn't up to the standard I have experienced on previous visits. The sashimi was good (not great) but a majority of the sushi pieces looked (and some even tasted) as if they had been left out for far too long. All of this may be because we came for a late lunch and so they may have been trying to use up as much as they could to save food and waste but it should have been cleared away far earlier.

Visited Yukai Buffet on a sunday for lunch. With my family, party of 9. If you are looking for Sushi and sashimi, this is very reasonably priced (17.99). The fish was fresh, they have a hibachi grill, and plenty of food choices. Not much choices for vegetarians besides the hibachi, seaweed, lomein, and green beans. Surprisingly, the sushi chefs can also make sushi on request, we ordered an avocado and veggie roll. For vegetarians its steep for the price, for all others it's a great deal!

I can't help but rate this as a comparison to other sushi places I've been... With that being said, I was kind of disappointed with the quality of the sushi here. There are other places (strictly sushi restaurants) that are so much better for quality, texture, and all around taste of sushi and sashimi. The rest of the buffet looked ok and other foods (didn't taste everything) tasted good, but again, I've had better. Maybe I came there on an "off day", because they have a "Best of 2018" sign outside. Also the price was definitely NOT worth it either. Especially because the quality was substandard. For a buffet, it is really good, they have tons of different kinds of sushi, and a hibachi grill. The only suggestion that I have is to get a booth instead of a table, the chairs there are really uncomfortable and hurt your back after about 30 minutes.

This place is the greatest. This is our go to spot for sushi, but there is so much on this buffet that's good. The buffet is well maintained, very clean. Food is always fresh and quickly switched out. The selection is great. Everything from sashimi to about a dozen or so varieties of rolls. They also have shrimp, oysters, salads, fruits, hibachi, and pho'. There is even pizza and lighter fare for the kiddos. Dessert bar is well done as well. Go once and you'll never go anywhere else... trust me.

The cost for five people eating at an unlimited buffet of sushi was a bit over $100 USD. The sushi is labeled overtop so you can quickly see what you are grabbing. The lines are not too bad even with rush hour. The raw sushi stays pretty fresh and the cooked warm since the supply is cycled with the number of customers. Dessert options will have you regretting eating so much. The banana pudding was amazing. The staff are freindly and fast, I left a good tip because they deserved every bit. I cannot wait for my next trip into gluttony and the shame that follows in the gym.

They have a great smorgasbord of dishes! They are getting busier and mask are still encouraged to wear mask and gloves while getting your food on the buffet table or at least sanitized to be safe. Otherwise great food.

I chose to eat at this buffet because it had a ridiculous amount of 5 star reviews but I wanted to keep my expectations low because we all know how these buffets can be. This was an incredible buffet with amazing sushi and other foods (though I found the kani salad a bit too spicy and the soy sauce was waaay too salty.) I did not want to give it less than 5 stars solely for its extra salty soy sauce because my waitress was very attentive and friendly. All too often I go to these buffets and the waitress is pushy and wants to get you in and out as fast as possible. The opposite is true at Yukai Seafood Buffet. It was a truly wonderful dining experience.

As a all you can eat buffet the quality of the food & the pricings were normal. Not too exceedingly expensive. The sushi was good. I liked how it had different varieties of other foods. I only wished they had green tea ice cream for dessert. But my server was kind of annoying bc she kept on taking my plate away without asking bc it still had food on it. Then rushed us with the checks. But aside from that I think I will most come here again if I am ever in the area. To those who are comparing Yukai & Sushi King, here are my 2 cents. Yukai wins for me. Even though the sushi wasnt "freshly made" once you order your food, at least the price tag wasnt over $30 per person. It's cheap here and you'll eat your money's worth.

Went to this buffet after the Captain George's buffet had a line to Pluto. The food is ok. About half the cost of Captain George's. Don't expect amazing quality and you'll be ok. The sushi was fine. I'm still alive so there's that. 30 min wait time and was quickly seated.

We went there for a large party gathering. Yukai has a lot going for it for a buffet style sushi place. The sushi is premade and sits out awaiting for the curious and inquisitive. There is a good variety of sushi with some being cooked for the light of heart. Although sushi is the main staple, Yukai offers a Mongolian BBQ and the normal Chinese buffet. Plenty of food and plenty of choices for just about every pallet imaginable. I focused on the sushi as that is my favorite. To be honest, you will find much better sushi grade fish at sit down restaurants. However, for the price and quantity one cannot complain.

Depends on the day, historically. Sometimes its decent / good... but then again there are sometimes I barely eat. I would reccomend to eat here when they are the busiest and really only for the fresh sushi / sashimi and raw oysters on the half shell. Cant screw up raw food! Bonus points for getting Hersheys ice cream cups back.
