I would skip this restaurant if you're in town and looking for some fresh seafood, there are better places for a foodie, this restaurant is definitely set up as a tourist attraction. Our total bill was 93.00 for two people. $33 alone for the fried seafood platter which we shared. We ordered a side Caesar salad, she crab soup and the fried seafood platter. Additionally we both ordered a strawberry margarita. First, let me start by saying do not waste your money on the drinks. They are $11 each for some watered down tequila with simple syrup. All of the drinks came from the bar looked the same color and were absolutely not worth the price tag. The she crab soup was the best item I had here. Caesar salad was good, but nothing special. The fried seafood platter had a crab cake (1) , white fish (1 piece), scallops (2), and shrimp (3) with fries and slaw. The taste was something you could get at a much cheaper restaurant. Skip this restaurant for something cheaper, it's not worth the price tag.

Enjoyed the atmosphere! Sat at the patio and wasn't too cold or hot so had an excellent view of the beach and sunseting sky. Kenny was an awesome server and had great recommendations. The weekly salmon special was the best salmon I've had along with the lobster mash. Wife enjoyed her pasta with the slight kick it had. Daughter enjoyed the kids menu and enjoyed the beach view. Will come back and recommend to friends and family!

Off-season visit. Valet not necessary, ample public parking just south of restaurant. Seated quickly, nice atmosphere. Food was good; drinks were good. Nothing spectacular. We would have tried a couple of the appetizers or dessert but the prices were pretty high. We would likely shop around next time visiting. 4 of us (1 of which was a kids meal) was almost $200 including 25%.

Found this place in a list of top restaurants in Virginia Beach. Turned out that we are staying in the hotel next door. Lucky us. We went there for lunch. The service was good. They are famous for orange crush drink. It was delicious 😋 no regrets on giving it a shot. We ordered fried seafood platter, tacos, cheesecake, and key lime pie. Everything was delicious. Outside sitting is perfect.

Great lunch today. We had 6 people, and everyone ordered something different. All were happy with their orders. The appetizers were really well done, and on point. Bacon wrapped scallops, and the crab dip. Really good food. Great team working here. I highly recommend it. Thanks to the Mgmt. and Owner also !

Wonderful place to have our anniversary dinner. Even though it seemed very busy we were seated right away. Very well staffed with friendly, efficient employees working together like a well-oiled machine. Husband enjoyed the original orange crush and I enjoyed the Chalkboard Chardonnay. Crab dip appetizer was so good. Ordered the fried seafood platter to share and couldn't even finish it all. The hushpuppies were amazing, the batter was light and the shrimp and fish were perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend to anyone who visits Virginia Beach. The salt scrub in the ladies room left my hands feeling so soft! Wish I had snagged the QR code to purchase some!

Great atmosphere, wonderful food, outstanding service, perfect adult beverages. Our lunch outing was perfect, from the valet parking, to the time we left. One of the best margaritas I've had in a while and the Key Lime Pie was so delicious. Our food was served quickly after ordering and was perfect. Went back and tried the orange crush and it was also delicious.

Everything was great! Wait was very long but it was well worth it. I ordered the lobster tail dinner and they were cooked to perfection. My family also ordered the crab cakes, fried and broiled and they even said they were great and not dry at all. Brenna our server was always on point and didn’t forget a thing. Great Staff and food!!! Decided to try out this establishment on the waterfront and glad we did. Was worried how it would work out with to babies and the staff rocked! The staff made our stay wonderful and they gave the kiddos plenty of love and attention. The food price is great and taste is even better. The view of the beach from inside is great. Will return more often. Only challenge is parking. They have VIP parking out front or you can park down the street for free and walk over.

A lovely restaurant. We had a wait to be seated quoted at 15-20 minutes but we were seated In less than 10. We choose indoor seating to get away from the heat. Our view was of the beach! The signature orange cocktail was very delicious and refreshing. Overall the food and service were both wonderful!

My party and I really wanted some good seafood on our trip to VA Beach, after some research we decided to give this place a try. The dishes were a hit or miss, the crab cakes, seafood platter, hush puppies, she crab soup, and drinks were okay. The seafood pasta and bacon wrapped scallops were delicious and I’d definitely recommend those. The service was fantastic and super friendly which made the experience much better.

A delicious way to end any day is a dinner at Waterman’s. Dining on the main floor or in the basement, there are views of the ocean all around. The staff is extremely helpful and great with suggestions. We started off with traditional hush puppies and not so traditional tuna bites. Spicy cubes of fresh tuna in buffalo sauce which were so fresh - literally popped with flavor. Our group ordered the house favorite pasta with seafood and sausage - the scallops were like butter, the yellowfin tuna topped with crab was perfect - order it rare or not at all, the crab cakes are huge and absolutely delicious - a local specialty, and the fried shrimp, a classic done right. Prices are what you would expect for a fresh seafood eatery, get there early or be prepared to wait a little bit. Wonderful dinner with friends.

Waterman's was recommended by my travel agent - we had a great experience! Went in on a Monday around 4 pm and there was no wait. Our server, Ariel, was fantastic. Explained the specials including happy hour. Definitely get the Orange Crush!! I got the smothered chicken sandwich and my husband got the Waterman's Burger. Will definitely return if we're in the area again.

Both the crab cakes and the Cajun pasta were fantastic. The fried calamari was so perfect even my 10 year old and my 6 year old ventured to try it and loved it. The atmosphere is exactly what we wanted views of the ocean and loads of people watching. For years I've have been trying to come here but the wait was always so pong.

Stopped in on a whim after an unexpected rain on a Saturday afternoon. Our party of 2 waited approximately 10 minutes for a table (they were super busy!) & grabbed 2 delicious drinks from the bar including a grapefruit crush. Our server Cheryl was very friendly & attentive, & food was delicious! We had spicy tuna bites, fish tacos & a burger. Plus a nice ocean view as the restaurant sits along the boardwalk & offers both indoor & outdoor dining. Give them a try!

Amazing experience! Went here on a recommendation from a family member. I got an orange crush and a chicken wrap. Both were amazing! The service was spot on and the venue was very nice. It is right on the beach and you get that ocean breeze. 10/10 would recommend!

I chose this restaurant because it had a 4.5 star rating with over 8K reviews. It was not worth the 1 hour 15 minute wait and $120 (family of 4) bill. We wanted local and not a chain. The view was wonderful and the atmosphere was nice. Our family ordered the Guinness burger, a cheese burger with bacon, the blackened yellow fin tuna, and local crab cakes. The burgers were the best thing at the table. I had the crab cakes. I had one broiled and one fried. I liked the fried one better. The mixed veggies were overcooked from frozen. The mashed potatoes were good but tasted like instant. The fried crab cake was yummy. There has to be better local seafood in Virginia Beach.

We wanted a place facing the ocean, with great seafood and gluten friendly options. The concierge at our hotel recomended this place. We went to the bar while we waited 20 minutes for our table to setup. Happy hour at the bar is really good, this place invented the Orange Crush and we loved the deink that we got a seconde one each, very tasty and $5 in happy hour. Once sat, we had a view of the ocean and with the windows up, we could hear the sound also. Our waiter Kenny was great and attentive. We ordered loaded fries as an app and within 5 minutes we had them on our table, well worth the price and calories. We also ordered salads as meals with chicken or blackened salmon. All was spot on and fresh. This place is awesome with a location next to the boardwalk facing the ocean. Great bar, ambience, service, quality and pricing. We plan on comimg back a few more times while here on vacation.

Everything we had was delicious, didn’t get pictures of all the appetizers. Service was great, the wait time was average. My friend parked valet, there is also metered parking.. where we parked our huge van and didn’t have to pay since it’s off season. Their known for their crushes, I wasn’t a fan of the flavor. Ate here while on vacation back in September. There is a reason this is one of the better reviewed seafood restaurants in VA beach. Every dish was delicious, and despite it being very busy, the service was quick and friendly. Location is nice too, with great oceanside views.

Very cute place. Our experience was not great food wise. The blackened Ahi was very salty but the staff was amazing. Bethellen Kaylee and manager went above and beyond. The best server in this place is Kenny! It felt like being waited on by a friend. He was kind, efficient, thorough. Top tier service and amazing food and drinks! Best burger I have ever had and the specialty drinks are a must have. Ash was the bartender and she made sure we were taken care of as well. A must visit if you're in Virginia Beach!

If you're staying in the resorts here or are just around and craving seafood, this is a sure bet. I chose to eat here over chic because they had more fish options. First off the She crab soup was some of the best crab soup I've ever had. And I love seafood based soups. It was flavorful, velvety, and thick. Then I got the fish of the day. They can prepare whatever fish your order in a number of ways. I ended up getting rockfish stuffed with crab and a lemon butter sauce. It was exactly what I was looking for after being on the beach all day. It came with rice and veg with the veg being especially good for sauteed squash and zucchini.

Wife and I happened upon this place for Sunday brunch as we were leaving the area. The sticky buns, omelette, and coffees were superb. Indoor or outdoor you'll great a great view of the shoreline. Also they have Heinz. 10/10.

The food, the atmosphere, the waiter, Kenny!! Best food ever suggested by a waiter! We had the special, which was the flounder stuffed with a seafood mix! Amazing!! Kenny was such a fun server! We came back a 2nd time this week, only because he personally invited us to try his favorite meal. Great job sir!!

Wow… wonderful food and great service tonight. Kenny did a great job serving us. We ate the stuffed flounder and blackened tuna entrees. $100.00 for two, but it was superb. This wonderful dining experience was greatly lessened when the valet disapproved of our tip amount when our car was two spaces from the door. We were told to park behind the store and leave valet for folks that would pay more. I’ve never encountered a more rude and disrespectful person in that role. Very disappointed. -2 stars

The reception people aren’t sure of how to handle people. The outside hostess was rude she pointed to a wet table and placed menus and napkins on table without wiping it off and more interested in talking to some one else. Had an issue with what to do with the bar tab, but it got straightened out overall not a good first impression. I realize this is a busy place but I really think you could have done better.

Other than the rude valet, it was a good experience. We weren't from the area and we pulled into what we thought was the parking lot. We were asked to basically get out. Then directed to park on streets blocks away. Luckily we ignored them and parked directly across the street for 5 bucks. The wait staff was prompt. The Food was fast and delicious. We were super impressed. The deserts were huge! I would definitely go back! If you go just make sure to look across the street for the $5 lot. Don't let valet send you out of the area!

We came for lunch on Sunday, and even though it was busy we were seated right away! The crabby fries were savory and rich, the beach burger was perfectly cooked and the blackened tuna bites were surprisingly flavorful. Try the outside bar for a cool breeze and even cooler vibe. AMAZING!! Emily took care of us today, what a talent she is ! I have been a restaurant owner, manager, and held every other position in the industry. Emily is really an asset to this business. The operations , menu, food , drinks are all GREAT but it’s always nice to have such a great bartender/ server to just put the icing on the cake. Waterman’s is a MUST if your in VA beach. Ask for Emily if she’s available but I am sure all the servers are just as good but she was probably one of the best we have had in VA Beach! Great job Emily !!!

Dined in around 7pm on a Sunday night. Waited about 30 minutes for a table for 2 people. We decided to have a drink at the bar while waiting for the table to be ready. We were seated in the outside area, gorgeous during the evening. Andrea was our waitress, she was kind and patient and had recommendations. We got the loaded crab fries- sinfully delicious, buffalo tuna bites- they were ok. Crab stuffed flounder was a 4/5. Sesame crusted seared tuna also 4/5. Painkiller drink and orange crush 5/5. Was really lovely seeing the beach and sky throughout the meal. Complementary valet parking, but they deserve tips with how courteous they are and how fast they move. Overall great Sunday dinner!

Visited Watermans Twice in one week, The 1st visit was a party of 7 And our server was was amazing. Quite possibly the best I have ever seen. However, On our 2nd visit, Party of 3, Our visit was very Disappointing. Our server was surly and rude And deliberately avoided eye contact as she passed us several times. Wish I could remember their names, Because the 1st server deserved many Accolades heaped upon her. As for the 2nd server The service was so bad, That I Had to get up to ask someone For extra napkins and drink Refills. As I am disabled this was a difficult situation for us. It would be unfair of me to comment on the food As the 2 things I ordered Were disappointing, But the others in my party were very happy with their orders. On the 1st visit I had the lobster tacos, Was not expecting the lobster to be deep fried. And on the 2nd visit I ordered the tuna Seared rare and received it medium well. Talk about dry... Considering the prices we paid The quality of the food should have been so much more.

i could stop here and tell you the service was excellent but it wouldn't do justice to the place and to Lauren our server... she was very knowledgeable and accommodating and mindful of our dietary needs... the food we ordered were just a plus... the entrees... the dessert... the drinks... oh yeah the drinks... more often than not we don't have good drinks but this place and as per Lauren's recoomendations were spot on... good ones... crushed ice types... manmosa... we loved it... the impossibly high star rating and the almost 8k reviews are justified... worth the first meal of a 6hr long drive from jersey... Nice looking place and very popular. We had the two lobster dinner, but it was very salty. They said they don't add salt. Was it the bay seasoning? The special stuffed lobster raviolis was filled with lots of lobster. It was the best we have ever eaten! Shrimp and crab meat was also very good, but the sauce was salty to us. We don't use much salt on our foods.

Quite pricey but holy cow was that food good! Note that during dinner hours you’ll have a bit of a wait. Everything was cooked perfectly. My burger was super juicy and the bacon on top was perfect too. The crab fries were top notch. The rest of the food was reportedly great too. The waitress was the best waitress I’ve ever had. She was super nice, friendly, helpful, and even though she was very busy she made conversation with the family which was super cool. The outdoor seating was awesome too with a great view. 11/10experience

Great fish tacos. We had the blackened tuna tacos, the calamari, and the fried seafood platter. The tacos were a decent portion for one person. The fried seafood platter came with shrimp, scallops, fried fish and crab cakes and hush puppies. The atmosphere was good and busy we waited about 45 min or so for a table so make reservations in advance if possible. The restaurant is really large with different seating areas both inside and out. Allen was our server and provided us with exceptional service. Most servers don't engage the children and he did so in a playful manner and was on top of everything. He made the evening much more enjoyable. If your in the area definitely stop in and have a meal.

We were able to walk here from our hotel, the location was nice, right on the boardwalk. We went for dinner, it was kind of dim and romantic so it was perfect for our date night. Food came out quickly and was delicious.

She gave everyone personal attention, listened intently, asked questions, and was fast! Her patience and her sweet spirit touched me. With plenty of seating overlooking the beach, the view is enjoyable even on a rainy day. Begin your meal with the signature Orange Crush or any of a wide variety of alcoholic beverages for the full experience. I went for the Creamsicle, served in a plastic cup which you’re welcome to keep. I enjoyed a yellowfin tuna sandwich, cooked as little or as much as you like, on a brioche bun, with fries. Red pepper aïoli is served on the side. Every bite was worth the price ($20+).

Waterman's is our favorite place to visit when we come to VB! THE best orange crushes + cheese sticks. Fresh seafood too! Check out their sister properties too, Chix on the beach + the shack. Love a great brunch? Check this restaurant out on Sundays too!

Absolutely a favorite for my family. We ordered the Seafood Mediterranean and the Miso salmon. 10/10 on both entrées. I also ordered 2 of the dragon Mango cocktails and they were great for the price and I didn't leave disappointed. The service was great from our waitress and she was attentive without being annoying like some places are. We always love Waterman's. (Bathrooms were very clean as well) Family friendly, but definitely a date place. We came back and was still pleased with food and service.

This is ALWAYS a favorite. The service, even on a crowded weekend afternoon at the Oceanfront is excellent! The timeliness from our being seating to receiving our meals was within 20 minutes. Everything was prepared fresh and arrived to our table hot and delicious. We arrived about an hour before the full dinner menu was available, yet the kitchen graciously prepared our special dinner requests without missing a beat. Excellent!

On my way home from an overnight trip we decided to talk a walk on the beach and stumbled upon this Surfside restaurant I'm glad we did because the crab dip fries and the crush cocktail was a great way to end our trip to VA before heading back home to NC I know for sure that this will be a much needed stop every time we make it back to the area, being able to breath in the ocean air while eating is so refreshing and there are quite a few menu items I would love to try next time so I will for have to make my way back soon.

WISH I TOOK PICS OF THE FOOD BUT FOOD LOOKED TOO DELICIOUS!!! I been going to VA beach for years and this was my first time at this establishment. Great service even better seafood!!! I had the fried seafood dinner and it was CRAZY good! Everything taste fresh and our orders were prepared and served the fastest we ever had. The seating was plentiful and view spectacular as we sat directly in front of beach! Our server was professional and they surprised me with valet service. I will be back no doubt!

This food was absolutely delicious it’s been a year since I have been here but I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. It’s so delicious it’s a little pricey but I would say heck yeah it’s so worth it honestly. They are super busy all the time but the staff is always super attentive and friendly. Also the food still comes out delicious and in a timely manner. The restaurant it’s self is absolutely humongous! If you want to eat here please make sure u make a reservation so yiu don’t have to idly sit by and watch all the food go by.

Excellent spot for any seafood lovers. Crab fries, Mediterranean hummus platter and Mussels appetizers were all top notch. Service was as good as it gets and the atmosphere is electric. Salmon and Tuna entrees were good and the kids loved the grilled cheese and chicken tenders. The cookie monster shake and mixed drinks were well received too.

About a 30 minute wait, but worth it. Peyton the hostess on the patio was terrific. She was seating people, bussing tables and never seemed to stop. She deserves a raise. Our waitress Jen was also terrific. Took our order quickly, kept our drinks refilled and checked back often to make sure everything was good. My friend had the grilled yellow fin tuna. It was very good (she shared some with me). She really liked it. I had the just seafood. Very good, vegetables cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were very good as well. We shared a piece of key lime pie, very good. We ate here last year and will definitely eat here again.

Visiting for one day and had this place recommended. Free valet parking, big bar area to order a drink while you wait. No staffing issues here. About 20 minute wait at 6 pm on a Monday. Server said come earlier for no wait - before 5. Text notifications when table was ready. Food - seafood, excellent, sides were average and pretty standard fare. It’s hard to mess up mashed potatoes, rice, and veggies. Food served HOT which was nice. Mediterranean pasta was excellent. Crab cake, very good. Ultimate seafood was 4/5. I’d order the pasta again. View of the ocean from inside. There are big 12 top tables available but they might be utilized for reservations only. This place is on the very south end of the beach so eat here, park in St Mary of the Sea’s school lot for 10$, then walk Atlantic Ave.

We went here for my wife's birthday. We were seated right away and given the option of having dinner on the patio at a table right under the heater. We had a great view of the beach and moon at night. Dawn was our server and very friendly and attentive. The food was cooked perfectly and delicious. We ordered "Just Scallops" and "Just Seafood". We also had dessert. It was a nice environment, excellent service and fantastic seafood and dessert.

Waterman's is such a treat, especially if you get an outside table. It's one of the last Mom and Pop type restaurants on the boardwalk in VA Beach. If you are not willing to wait at least an hour for a table, you should arrive by 5:30 or go for lunch. They do provide valet service or there are paid parking lots close by. They no longer run any happy hour specials since the start of the pandemic. However, the drinks and food are still some of the best in VA Beach. Waterman's makes a great orange crush, their flagship drink. For dinner, we started with the calamari appetizer with orange chipotle glaze for dipping. It was fantastic! I could have eaten just that as my meal. Our server, Adiel, was top notch as she ensured that our calamari was all rings. For our entree, we shared the fried seafood platter with fries (added the crab dip to them for a small upcharge) and got the veggie medley. The veggies were rather bland, but everything else was very good. The amount of batter on the seafood was just right, you could really taste the proteins without them being greasy or nothing but batter. The star for me was the fried scallops, but it was all very good.

Took a recommendation from the bike rental shack in the pier and did not disappoint. Heard all about the orange crush, yes it is good. Very nice atmosphere, balances vacation casual while feeling slightly upscale. Crab dip is an amazing starter. Tropical chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp wrap were fantastic. Service was attentive, friendly, and reasonably paced. Meal was moderately priced, appropriate for the quality of food and service.

This is one of those places that is a magnet for tourists during the summer, yet still pulls in the locals year 'round. The drinks (of course you must try a signature orange crush, but be careful, they are surprisingly strong) are good, the bar has a friendly vibe with a mix of locals and folks from out of town. The wait on a heavy weekend was 45 minutes. We hung out in the bar area and had a drink or two. It's a busy restaurant but the wait staff is attentive and professional. We never felt ignored. The food was simply fantastic. I had the special which was 6 jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat on a lobster mash with asparagus. Amazing. My wife had scallops and our friends had a Cajun pasta with seafood. An excellent dining experience all around. The cost was reasonable. Not cheap but not overly pricey. Waterman's is an absolute must try if you are not from VB, or if you are. It's at the start of the boardwalk and right on the ocean. It encompasses all that is good about the Virginia Beach dining experience. It's busy so be prepared for crowds, but you'll be glad you went.

This past Friday I had the pleasure of eating here. What a great time we had. I had friends visiting from out of town, and they wanted great food! We came here, and we were not disappointed. I had the fried shrimp, and they had the seafood platter, fish of the day, and so much more. We tried the crab dip fries, I think they were called Crabby Fries: amazing. The portions were generous, the food was great, and the service was wonderful. We even were able to get a table on the patio right next to the boardwalk. What a plus! The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. It was a great time. Thank you for helping me make great memories for my friends.

This place is great for any seafood lovers. My boyfriend and I come here occasionally when were at the beach. The pricing is a bit high but your paying for quality food. I love that they offer valet parking so you don't have to stress about finding a place to park. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating which has a great view of the beach. We ended up sitting at the bar to avoid waiting plus you can order food there too. Our bartender Kia was amazing and very attentive. We had a few of their most popular drink; orange crush. It's freshly made from oranges and mixed with vodka. As an appetizer we had the crabby fries which is not only different but so delicious. It's a decent size bowl of yummy fries topped with crab dip. Then we both ordered the "Just Seafood" dish which consist of scallops, shrimp and a little crab meat as well as mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was good and customer service was great.

Stepping into Watermans takes you back to earlier times, dark original wood, beautiful back enclosed deck looking onto the ocean, with hints of class sprinkled throughout. P.E.I mussels garlic wine sauce with grilled pita. It was delicious, the sauce complemented the mussels so well. I would prefer bread over pita so that I could soak up the garlic wine sauce. Just seafood: jumbo shrimps, sea scallops, and lump crab meat, all broiled in with lemon + butter + white wine, and sprinkled with old bay. It was delicious, but the portion was small. The mashed potato was creamy and the veggies were seasoned well. Fried seafood platter: fresh fish, sea scallops, jumbo shrimps, crab cake, hush puppies, cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, fries, and slaw. Every seafood item was delicious. I wished there were more of crab cakes and fried fish. Definitely recommend this platter. Orange crush ice cream sandwich was so good, with pieces of orange in the ice cream. It was Waterman’s exclusive artisan made. It lived up to the exclusivity. House-made key lime pie was tart and sweet. It was a great way to balance out the heavy entrees we had. Overall the food was amazing. It was packed and wait was long. They have a bar area upstairs while you wait and watch the beach.

They have the best-tasting appetizers on the boardwalk! The mussels and oysters are very good and so are the rest of the seafood fare. They are also known for their Orange Crush cocktail drinks which is the best I've tasted so far among the bars and restaurants. They can be very busy and crowded during the weekends but that's only because the food and drinks are very good.

Wow I was impressed with this experience!! They are open pretty late, till 11 even in week days. Every table has a hand sanitizer spray on it (no smell to it, just alcohol). Service was exceptional! Waiter came quick and game recommendations for the food we wished without even exploring the menu. Drinks and food was brought to us super quick although it was pretty busy at the restaurant. They went out of their way to make salt shot glasses for tequila. Drinks and food tasted great. Waiter was very nice and present to deal with. They also have cool looking igloos outside that sit groups of 8 and can be reserved the day before for $25. Will definitely check those out with a group of friends, sounds like a fun and good atmospheric idea. Beautiful experience!

I had Waterman’s Hamburger with cheese, crab meat. It was hot and delicious! The coke slaw was tasty as was the fries. My orange crush drink reminded me of my partying in the 80s in College Park. Great service. Wonderful view of ocean. I ate so fast so forgot to take photos.

I have to start with the minus, which is simply because of location: Atlantic was lined with cones for the Holiday Light Show. The flurry of traffic and cones made finding our way into their tiny parking lot very intimidating, so we opted to pay for parking less than a block away only to discover part of the chaos we saw comes from them offering valet parking. Once inside, there were lots more seats and space then expected. We had a reasonable wait time in spite of the crowds. The restaurant looked clean and had good ambient lighting. Our waitress was pleasant and mature. The crab dip-coated fries came out quickly and were yummy. I ordered the tuna with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli- all good. I think my favorite surprise was that the broccoli wasn't cold and it had flavor. I look forward to well-prepared vegetables and am so often disappointed by how little attention is paid to something that only needs butter to shine. If "Mr Budget" allows, I will be back again in spite of the long drive and chaotic parking, though I would definitely try to make it a multi-purpose trip.

The coconut fried chicken sandwich was really, really good. I was wearing my beach clothes, other customers were dressed much less casual but I didn't feel out of place. Drinks were delicious, I got the Painkiller crush. There is no happy hour, but the mimosa/manmosa saved the day by being the cheapest drinks on the menu (~$6). The hush puppies were also great.

We had high hopes for dining here with the rave reviews. Unfortunately fell a bit flat for us. The views are great - but we paid for outside seating and only one person can actually see the view if you’re seated at a two-top. This isn’t the place to have food allergies as there’s very little offerings for someone with both gluten and dairy allergies. I think the final bill was close to $100 including the up charge for seating and valet tip, etc. and we were still hungry when we left. If you want a fried fish and seafood spot this is for you - if you’re looking for something more elevated with allergy-friendly options this isn’t the place.

I searched crab cakes in the area and trip advisor recommended this restaurant. First of all, they have valet service. Thank God. We came in and were seated right away. Hoping to visit her today at Sunday Brunch. Food: We had cream of crab soup, Cajun chicken pasta, crab cakes and fish tacos and we were not disappointed. My husband and I ate at Waternan’s on Oct 16, 2022. We were very impressed with the food. It was delicious!!! We were seated inside so we got in pretty quickly. I had the Fried Shrimp w/ house salad and cilantro lime rice ( substituted the fries and coleslaw). The batter on the shrimp was light so you didn’t feel like you were eating a bunch of bread. My husband got the Just Seafood with shrimp, scallops, lump crab meat. This dish was also a hit. As far a service, they are very busy so it takes time for your server to circle back to your table. Amazing. App and drinks were on the table before we finished ordering. They are living in 2021 all other restaurants are in the 1990s. Waitress said they are known for their crab cakes.... crab cake was average. If you want a crabcake, go to MD. Everything else was amazing. Worth the hour and a half wait while we drank outside. I visit VB regularly and this is one of my favorite restaurants. Their food is always delicious and well-portioned. Sunday brunch is such a treat, with their free AMAZING pastries with each entrée ordered. Everyone raves about the crushes, but if you don’t drink alcohol just know they have DELICIOUS FRESH SQUEEZED OJ you can also order :) It’s the base they use for the crushes and is always squeezed fresh for each drink. The blackened tuna tacos are notable, also the shrimp n grits. Loads of yummy options. And be sure to visit the fun gift shop up front. They have beautiful and humorous gifts

Absolutely a must go! Excellent quality food and the atmosphere was great. The music, the temperature, the attitude of the waitrons. Everything was perfect. They even had valet parking. If you’re going to go to the oceanfront, you have to stop here. Their outside covered patio bar is amazing. From the ring hook game to an actual tip bell? Yes, please. It goes without saying you have to get yourself an orange crush! I spent a lot of time here during Freedom Fest in 2013/2014 (whichever one was when Darius Rucker played); I met some amazing humans during that event, and discovered an amazing bar. The vibe in there is memorable, even a decade (I rebuke the thought that this was ten years ago! 🤣) later… it’s kinda that kind of place.

We actually came here twice during our vacation to the Virginia Beach and really enjoyed eating here. I can't remember the dinner special they had that night but oh my god it was so good. We made sure to finish that entire sauce on the dinner special plate. Service was fast and the atmosphere was very nice. As soon as you get in, they get you to a table whether indoor or outside and make you feel very welcomed. Interior is very clean and water was brought out quick and refilled as well. The Crabby fries were bomb. So good and creamy. The waitresses Amanda G. and Kristin were superb (because we went twice here). They were very friendly and super helpful. They made sure to remind us that if we had any questions to please let them know and were very upbeat. I'm glad Amanda told us about the dinner special because I can't get over how good it was. Terrible service portion size was terrible for the money. I took my new family to Virginia Beach to celebrate my husband's and my anniversary. I used to live in Virginia Beach but my new husband and family had never been. I remembered Waterman's from when I used to live here boy hasn't changed. Needless to say my family was not impressed. The atmosphere is nice but the waitress we had Amy was very rude service was terrible. We weren't offered a salad nor rolls or bread of any kind. My husband and I both ordered the parmesan flounder which was very mushy and not fully cooked it seemed. We received a half a piece of fish over top or some sprinkled parmesan cheese which pretty much blended in with the fish being mushy. The rice had no flavor and the portion sizes were very small to charge $29 for that little plate. Waitress never offered to bring extra water or drinks to the table. When we told her of her concerns with the meal she never offered to bring the manager or nothing it was oh okay I'm sorry that was it. Truly disappointed with our experience.

We were seated quickly in their heated patio. our server was kind and attentive. we ordered a hummus platter! it was delicious with a variety in the spread including pita, carrots, olives, cheese and apple! So fresh and tasty. and I have to say the CRUSHES were amazing. whoever made those crushes deserves praise bc they were delicious. especially the caribbean crush!!! soooo good! the service was SPEEDY! the kitchen was SO QUICK i couldn’t believe it. definitely would come here again just for the great drinks and staff

Even if you’re not having an engaging conversation, people watching can be fun. We had amazing service here, which resulted in a nice tip when the waitress updated us on the show service and attempted to cheer up my son who was starving. The food was decent, very bland. Everything lacked color, very dull and uninspired. I eat with my eyes and the food was boring. There wasn’t much flavor, basically something you could whip up at home with an air fryer for half the price. I wouldn’t come back.

Last night I went there for a work party. The restaurant was nice and clean. The food was tasty. But the valet parking guy was scaring me. He was trying to force me to tip! It was some white guy with a brownish blonde bread and blue looking eyes who was being forceful. Like he was not going to move unless I tipped him. And then some bi racial looking slim guy said we need tips to pay our bills. I was uncomfortable with my valet experience towards the end of the night. I heard the short black guy was respectful. And someone else I know had the same experience with a white guy. But oh no! If you need to pay bills maybe working for tips isn't where you need to be or the restaurant should see that valet parking is charged.

This place is Ah-Mazing! My niece and I were staying at the hotel next door and decided to go because it was close. Best decision ever. The seafood was so good. Dined with a group of over 40 people. The group was seated in different areas of the restaurant. My tables drinks, appetizers, and entrees came out with little wait time. It was a rainy day but there was still a great view of the water. Valet retrieved the cars quickly so guests didn't wait too long in the rainy cold.

First visit and we were definitely pleased with both food and service! Hubby had the crab cake special and I had grilled salmon. Both were prepared perfectly. Taste and temperature exceptional! The She Crab Soup is a cut above all the others I've tried elsewhere. The crab dip was also tasty with no scrimping on the crab! We managed to save room for a piece of the homemade key lime pie...it did not disappoint! Best I've ever had, and I've had it in Florida numerous times. Free valet parking is a huge plus, since parking can be a challenge during the busy season. Prices are good for the exceptional quality of the food and service couldn't be better!👍👍👍

Heard great comments about Waterman's as we were checking in at the hotel next door. We would totally recommend it as well. We were seated quickly and was served well and attentivel by our waiter. My wife and I shared an order and were perfectly content & filled when we were through. We started w a bowl of She Crab Soup that was creamy and dreamy good. I requested the Grapefruit Margarita w salt. There wasn't much grapefruit but the tequila was pleasantly there. I happily consumed most of it myself. As an entree, we split the Just Seafood dish containing old bay seasoned jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, and lump crabmeat all broiled w lemon, butter,and white wine. So very good! Add mash potatoes & a fresh vegetable medley of zucchini, squash, grn beans and onions as sides. Such a great dining experience..

We had an amazing lunch here! The food was amazing. We got an appetizer of the frenchfries with crabmeat and cheese sauce that was fantastic! Even the kids food was delicious. The baby had Mac an cheese....it was real mac and cheese not from a box. They have beautiful seating areas inside and the option to sit out in the enclosed porch was great. Portion sizes are spot on. Not too much and not too little. We will definitely be back, we live 1hr 45m away and we plan on coming back. Price is comparable to any other restaurant for our family of 5 with an appetizer ( and my 20$ well worth it crabcake meal) we came out to about 89$ which is on par for a typical dinner out at say a Red Lobster except the food was phenomenal.

I absolutely love this restaurant!! I booked an igloo outside and it was an amazing experience. It was heated, decorated, and clean. I dined alone for relaxation time and Paige, who was my server, was very attentive, fast, and sweet. I ordered the Just Seafood plate and it was the greatest seafood experience of my life. The valet, the location, the food and my server Paige, made my night absolutely perfect. I will definitely be back!!! I can't believe it has taken me this long to try this place.

Wonderful views. Wonderful food. Wonderful drinks. Wonderful staff. Whenever I’m at VA Beach, I always make time to eat dinner at this restaurant. Their ribeye is super tender and full of flavor. Their tuna is about as fresh as it can get and the brown sugar glaze on it was a delicious surprise. For an appetizer, try their she crab bisque or loaded fries (if you’re not a seafood liver like me)! But above all else, you must have one of their crush alcoholic beverages! My favorite is the creamsicle!!

This restaurant has some good food and drinks, including the orange crushes!!! I miss the snow crab legs they used to carry but the prices have gone up so I’m sure it’s just not cost effective. Sucks since this was a “go to” place, now I’d rather elsewhere so I can have crab legs for my dinner. I don’t mind stopping here for drinks and the family enjoys their favorites here. Scallops are usually their “go to” or the fish. The food tastes fresh more often than not and the atmosphere is always pleasant. If there is a long wait, go to the bar and get some crushes while you wait! There’s a ton to choose from. In the summer time if you go to the downstairs bar you can catch the ocean breeze while enjoying a beverage/food!

This was the perfect place for a relatively cheap family dinner. The spot is pretty much on the ocean so it provides great views and a relaxed, beach atmosphere. The service was great considering how crowded the restaurant was. The food was also better than I expected. I ate the chicken sandwich and I really enjoyed it. They have a great selection of drinks which is another plus. It is crowded so you should expect a wait if you have a party of more than 3 depending on the time you go. However, you can walk along the boardwalk to kill some time. If you’re looking for a family friendly, oceanfront spot with good food, this is your spot!

We went as part of Virginia Beach Restaurant Week. Waterman's is at the end of the Virginia Beach boardwalk right on the waterside. The window beach views are spectacular. Parking is valet...BUT...it is by tips only so no need to factor in any more for parking than you are willing to pay. Watermans is definitely a spot to go and try if you are down visiting, it's one of the nicest restaurants on the boardwalk. The food is great and the beer is also. They even have their own signature orange crush drink, I would recommend trying it. The only reason this is not a 5☆ was because we got 2 glasses of wine and both seemed like they had gone bad, almost like the bottle was left open for a week. I also got a crabcake sandwich and it had alot of hard crab pieces in it. Overall we love this place but our last visit was a bit of a let down, however we will definitely be back this is a great place for dinner.

Everything was cooked perfectly. Started with bacon wrapped scallops with a house sauce that was terrific. Dianes' salmon was almost gone before I could get a picture it was so good. I had the ultimate feast with the lobster tail. The dish, with crab meat scallops and shrimp was cooked perfectly but lacked taste in the butter sauce is was supposed to be cooked in. Good views on the water and not terribly priced. Recommended.

My husband and I were given lots of recommendations for our anniversary dinner by many of the locals from the area, but we decided to go the route of looking at the reviews online and making our decision from there. The reviews that were posted were great so we decided to take a chance and they did not steer us wrong...from the time we pulled up to the restaurant and were welcomed by the friendly valet service (no charge, so please tip them), to the hostesses who greeted us with a warm friendly smile at the front door and who seated us at a wonderful booth overlooking the oceanfront, to the great waiter Chris who gave us the white glove treatment. The meal suggestions were great and when our food arrived, we did not get disappointed at all. I'm a big seafood lover from MD and my meal did not fail to wow me at all with so much flavor and wonderful preparation. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his surf n' turf, his steak was cooked exactly as he requested. The staff was friendly and courteous and the ambiance was fantastic! When we travel back to Virginia Beach, we most certainly will dine here again...no special occasion needed, just to enjoy a wonderful evening of dining out.

Dinner was great at Watermans. My Family and I had 5 Dinner plates. We had 2 everything seafood plates 2 captain platters and a crab imperial dish. The food was cooked to perfection. Non of us had anything over cooked or under cooked. The plates were all reasonably priced and lots of food. Natalie was a great server always kept our drinks full. She asked how we were doing just the right amount of time and when we were done she took our dishes as we finished. Love the valet service especially at Virginia beach the parking in Virginia beach is terrible though. Especially the summer months. It was nice not to worry about parking. This is a great experience.

Monday night in the place was packed. 30 minute wait to get in on the patio, but the line moved pretty quickly. Delightful waitress but she was very busy. drinks were out quickly but appetizers did not come in until we got our meal. She did the right thing and took them off the ticket. Hummus tasted freshly made, and the feta had the best, rich flavor. The blueberry crush (alcoholic beverage) was super delicious. I highly recommend it. Comes with ice, and easy to drink it up fast. Tried my friend's orange crush, which was just as tasty. Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Nice environment. Can see the beach and boardwalk. TVs were playing the Olympics. Also had music playing. Later had coffee and peanut butter pie. The pie was excellent. Rich peanut butter flavor, drizzled with chocolate, Graham cracker crust. Coffee is just your typical restaurant coffee, nothing special. There is a restroom on the patio, so you don't have to go all the way back inside. Great place to relax and enjoy time with friends.

Decided to visit while on business as it was in a top list of seafood in VB. I was not disappointed. The drinks were pricey even at 5$ (cheap drinks until 6pm), but I felt I had to do the touristy thing and try the Orange Crush cocktail. It was good. I had the crab cakes for supper which I thought were good, very flavorful and cooked well. The mashed potatoes were well seasoned, but a little gluey for my liking. The side veggies (apparently sauteed) were not enjoyable, almost meh. I think they would be better off grilled, as they were bland and almost seemed boiled. The service was on point, attentive and made good recommendations. Overall I would recommend!

The location is perfect! Our server Lavar, phenomenal! Food yummy! The only downside to this place, the communication between servers and customer needs work. The air condition is needed during it's warmer months. A customer shouldn't have to wait 15-30 minutes for their order! The amount of food items offered is not enough! Bathrooms are very nice, but need upkeep! This is not a place for children. Great for dates and special occasions.

Omg omg omg! So good. The sesame encrusted tuna on top of garlic mashed potatoes with a pickled relish kind of a thing on top of it. Oh my goodness so good so good. Oh I forgot to mention there was also some lump crab meat. So good again. And then I had the peanut butter pie oh so good so good so good. The key lime pie was really good too. The fish of the day, mahi-mahi, was stuffed and that was so good too. We actually had an additional sauce on top of it which had a little bit of bits of bacon in it which I wasn't expecting but they were so good it was also good. I highly recommend getting here as soon as you can because the daily special sesame encrusted tuna is supposed to go away on Sunday. Our waiter was marvelous, over the top did a great job. And you know who you are if you know that you're the one who stirred my martini with your finger. Okay that was a joke but I did tell him to do that just for laughs. Check out the photos... The entrees are the stuffed mahi-mahi on top and the encrusted tuna below and a Tito's martini.

We went on vacation for only 4 days and LOVE to try new places but because we loved this restaurant so much we went two nights in a row. The crab dips is to die for and any food we got did not disappoint in the slightest. Stellar drinks and high quality ingredients. This is a more pricey restaurant but for the price we paid it was well worth it and no dollar was waisted for this spectacular experience. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Virginia Beach.

Our drinks were never empty and she was quick. We enjoyed our experience so much we decided to come back for brunch the following day! We enjoyed the crab dip, crab Benedict and shrimp and grits. All orders for 12 people/3 families came out correct. Get yourself some crushes too. The peach mango and orange were one the menu this past weekend and yes please! They did not disappoint. The ultimate seafood was great, crabby fries, pasta, hush puppies, Salomon pasta, crab cakes (all of it) and I could keep going we ordered a ton of food were spectacular. I can't say enough.

Outstanding!! I was visiting family and we wanted local seafood. We went to Waterman's, it was a busy night but a short wait. We ordered our drinks an appetizers. The bacon wrapped Scallops were out of this world, that good. I got the ultimate seafood platter (broiled)....This was amazing too!! All the meals (6 of us) were outstanding. Also, the service was top notch....Highly recommend Waterman's.

Very good food, service was excellent. My only disappointment is that, I paid $25 to reserve Oceanview dining in which I received. However, due to seating accommodations, it should be a free outdoor experience. The table for two seating had one chair back away from the view, and the other facing the view. The table was next to a plant which drew alot of bugs. I will definitely return, but without wasting $25 for outdoor seating. FYI- that's just to reserve seating, not including $104 dinner bill, plus $15 gratuity, $10 tip valet=$155 dinner cost for 2. Well, Happy Birthday to my Huney Chris. He deserved it...❤

My family went for lunch and sat in the indoor outdoor area, the view was beautiful of the Ocean. All of the food was so fresh, most of us ordered salads with seafood, the salads were so big and the seafood was listed as sustainably caught! The service was amazing. Only con the booth seat was not comfortable. Waterman’s is owned in the same umbrella as Chix on the Beach, and the Shack, on our vacation we had the pleasure of dinning at all 3 locations.

Minimal wait time even during dinner rush. Wait staff and host were all delightful and pleasant. I'm not much of a seafood person, so I ordered the chicken cajun pasta. It was absolutely delicious, and the chicken was very tender. The other three members of my party all agreed that their food was phenomenal. The price was appropriate for the food served as well. The atmosphere was a tick upscale, but still casual. I was impressed at their dedication to efficiency. They do everything on handheld kiosks, which I believe is a major player in how fast they were able to crank out food. As soon as the waitress takes your order, it is instantly sent to the kitchen. It feels like we did not wait long at all to start chowing down.

Went here as part of my vacation with my girlfriend. Had a lovely time here and was seated fairly quickly. Shared a crab dip appetizer as well as a fried seafood platter with her. The crab dip was wonderful and definitely one of my favorite seafood items, definitely worth a try. The seafood platter was also wonderful however the crab cake was a little overdone. You could tell it was all fresh and it really showed. I am not a big fan of coleslaw but even that was also quite good. It is a little pricey but the taste is definitely worth the price.

This was our first time here. Visiting friends for my birthday. They highly recommended this establishment. We showed up, without reservations, in a tourist town, at prime dinner time. The wait was an hour and fifteen minutes. But it went SO much quicker than that (and absolutely worth the wait). Rather than standing around, we walked our service dog down the boardwalk for the time. The call back for our reservation was seamless and was a live update. I LOVED that. It made things so easy for me to be proactive with our group to meet back at the restaurant. The environment is nice, and the staff was very friendly. Our server was very nice, however I’m ashamed to say I did not catch his name. The she crab soup was delicious and flavorful. The Waterman’s original pasta was also so flavorful i didn’t even think to catch a picture of the dish before it was devoured. (There are pictures in other reviews which we viewed to make our decision). I was so full by the end, I didn’t get to get the dessert I thought I wanted, but I saw it go to the table next to us, and it looked delicious and I overheard them say so. 10/10 recommend! Great job to Waterman’s for the wonderful meal!

I love the location of Waterman’s on the Oceanfront and always sit on the patio. My waitress, Dawn gave me excellent service for a late dinner while I was on vacation in VAB. She even calmly helped me find a credit card I misplaced. She was very attentive, always cheerful and very knowledgeable about Waterman’s menu. I thoroughly enjoyed their Caribbean Crush, Endless Summer Salad with blacked salmon added and homemade key lime pie. It was my first-time trying Caribbean Crush which was refreshing and made with the right amount of Cruzan Passion Fruit rum for me. The blackened salmon was cooked to perfection, moist and well-seasoned. I highly recommend Waterman’s and their waitress Dawn.

Located on the beachfront boardwalk, they are known for their Orange Crush drink. Not my favorite as its a bit sweet, but a fresh orange is squeezed into each drink. The tres agaves margarita was tasty, and the She Crab Soup was REALLY GOOD. Everything else (I had the fried seafood platter) was just okay. The food had very little seasoning or flavor; I was surprised to find that even the batter was bland. Prices were pretty much what you'd expect from an establishment on the beach that serves fresh seafood.

Really enjoyed my broiled flounder. Light fluffy, not over done! The runner from the kitchen brought me my fish platter but my waitress was right behind him and saw it was supposed to be broiled not fried, she was on top of things and quickly switched it with mine. Also had waited veggies, not overdone and the lime rice was good, not overpowering with lime flavor. For a Wednesday it was very crowded and noisy. The wait was long, about 45 minutes. I enjoyed the food and the view tho. Only thing is the bar was backed up and i received my merlot after I'd finished my food. Delicious food, and really nice bite of the beach if you can get thru the long wait snd noise.

Our experience at Watermans was good. We sat on the patio with two kids and ordered kids macaroni and cheese, crab cakes and crab dip. The service was great. Our hostess and server were gracious and patient. They were happy to let us split and entree, which some places frown on. The patio eating experience was great. A light ocean breeze cooled everyone dining on various seafood focused plates. The atmosphere is less formal than other boardwalk seafood joints. So if seeing folks in flip flops ruins your appetite, this is not the place for you. Our food was good. The crab cakes did not have a bunch of filler and contained minimal shell fragments. The dipping sauce was a nice compliment to the sweet crab meat. Our kids loved the macaroni and cheese. The one complaint we had was with the crab dip. It was salty. It was also served with tortilla chips which were covered in, you guessed it, salt. This dip would have been more enjoyable on baguette bread. Overall we enjoyed our meal at Watermans. We would eat here again but would pass on the crab dip.

Went for lunch last week during the Boardwalk Art Show. They were busy and sat us right away. Our waiter was fast and we had a great lunch. I thought the view was nice too. We both had the”Just Seafood” and it was delicious, hot and a nice portion. The hush puppies were good too. The She Crab soup was good too, a little thick, but quite tasty. We will definitely go back again!!

Last time we were there we watched a beach wedding. The crab Dib is phenomenal and the staff are fantastic. Everything is pretty reasonable priced for that area as is the wait time.

We were so pleased we visited Watermans while on vacation. Our a brief wait for a table was spent in the giftshop and once we were seated at our table the server greeted us and made some drink and food suggestions. We had the crabby fries and they were absolutely outstanding and the peel and eat shrimp were perfect and nicely seasoned with Old Bay. I had the Crab Imperial and it was beyond amazingly delicious and perfectly baked and presented. I had the seasonal veggies that were a mix of squash and green beans and again they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. We were really pleased we went to Watermans, it was the culinary highlight to our trip.

Everything was so overly spiced and salty. I love scallops and couldn't even finish them as they were so salty tangy. I'm not sure what type of spice they use but everything on the plate had too much of it. Coleslaw was the only thing that didn't get the spice dumped on it and that was dry and bland. Definitely wouldn't recommend and will not be going back.

Overall an amazing experience. First off free Valet Parking. They work off tips and took care of the car and where quick when we needed it. The atmosphere is great, with amazing views of the beach. On the day I went the air show was going on and planes flew just above the restaurant and did a loop. It was crazy. Then we had Chad as our waiter and he provided the best service I’ve ever had at any restaurant. He knew the menu inside and out and provided great options. The dish I got was a combination of two different entrees that happens to be his favorite. He had a great sense of humor and was very interactive and attentive, without being overbearing. The crushes were great and so were the margaritas. We also got to keep the little cups as souvenirs. Will go back when I return to Virginia Beach.

I had the Caribbean Crush and the Seafood Sampler. Wasn’t able to get a picture of my food...didn’t even think about it until it was all gone. The drink and food were great. The shrimp was so plump and juicy. Don’t get me started in the crab cake...AMAZING... just a crunchy ball of crab meat. Hush puppies had corn in them. I normally don’t like that, but even those were banging. Valet parking is available for free. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and atmosphere. I will be coming back.

This was my 3rd or 4th time here. Always a great experience. Whenever I'm in town for work, this is my go to spot for lunch or dinner. I was seated by manager Vic and waited on by Ezra, the 2 of them were awesome, took great care of me, went above and beyond my expectations. On top of all that, in my opinion, they have the best smoked ribs I've ever eaten (and I've had alot of ribs in alot of states). The best! I had the full rack of ribs, ate half at dinner and the other half later in the evening as a snack. Although I dined in the winter, they have an outside heated patio, at Waterman's I sit on outside patio in the summer and winter. Next time you're in town give them a shot, you won't regret it. Ask to be seated in Ezra's section, true professional! I will always come back when I'm in town and will bring my coworkers.

Second time visiting the VA Beach area for my wife's extending family and first time visiting this establishment. We got the steamed shrimp and crab with the cheddar loaded fries. All the food was well made and fresh like it should be while on the east coast! Both of us weren't disappointed even in the slightest. Our server, Kenny was checking up on us often, but not too often to be invasive/annoying. Well done to the great people at Waterman's!

Amazing. The Smother chicken sandwich is up there with the best sandwich i’ve ever ate. service was surprising fast for such a busy place. the fries were perfect and my family also enjoyed everything. might be a little expensive, but so is everything else around here. definitely worth a visit

I went with the wife to this restaurant recently. We had patronized this place a long time ago even though we live here in Virginia Beach. Yes this place was busy because the food really is excellent and the waitstaff were awesome. First let me start by saying that I don't think any establishment owes me a special privilege. Each establishment has the right to set their own rules. The reason for my three star is simple. When calling ahead, I was informed that the restaurant does have a military discount. This is a nice gesture on their part. What upset me was after receiving the check I was informed that the military discount was only extended to active duty military which is also a nice gesture. It is a shame that retired and disabled veterans do not receive any discount. I am a very proud retired navy veteran and I am also a 100% disabled veteran. While I salute the active duty military, I feel that this establishment is not treating the retired military with the same respect. Many of whom have paid a high price for the cost of freedom. Please do not make retired and disabled veterans feel like second hand citizens. Please reconsider changing your current policy to show respect to everyone in the military both active duty and retired.

From the parking lot, to the meal, and back the service was amazing! Even though it's the off season there was no slack in how well we were treated and taken care of. The host greated us warmly, we were lucky enough to be able to get the perfect (at least in my eyes) view of the ocean while we dined, and the cheerfulness of our interactions was definitely appreciated! We didn't wait long for the food and for this being only my 2nd time back from a visit years ago, the food was just as good as I remembered it to be. Very happy we came here for lunch because it hit the spot! 10 out of 10, Would dine again and again 😉 As per the reply to solely the pictures and the start, you're welcome for the great review but if you haven't done so already, your staff are the ones to be thanked. From the kitchen to the table, they're the ones that made this experience as enjoyable and as tastey as it was.

Waterman’s is a fabulous place! Friendly efficient staff and absolutely excellent food! Everything and I mean everything that came to our big table was great! From the ipa on draft with the orange slice to the perfectly cooked local rock fish and bright salad! Our waitress was Jen and she was so patient, capable and just so pleasant! We had folks rolling in late and she added them in seamlessly! Gotta mention Shelby at the front too who was the best hostess ever! I wish this place weren’t 4 hours away! I’d go every week:)!

Finally got around to going here and I WAS NOT disappointed! Had the crab dip for my appetizer and it was delicious! For my main course I had the miso salmon with rice noodles. It was perfectly cooked and the whole experience was wonderful. It only took about ten minutes to be seated which was just enough time to make a round in the gift shop (got some nice DIFF sunglasses). This is definitely a place I would recommend for tourists and and even if you live in Virginia.

Great food. Great drinks! Our waitress was super cool. First time visiting the state so we tried some of the beach area restaurants and this is one of our favorites. We booked the attic experience and the atmosphere and the view was amazing. The main restaurant doesn't take reservations so arrive early and check the wait times because there will be a wait. But the wait will be worth it if it's busy. The place is amazing

Meal was fine. Great view. Crab imperial was to have rice but came with mashed potatoes. Seasonal veggies needed some flavor. Orange crush drinks were $9.25, even the "skinny" version cost that much, and was very watery. Lemon crush - meh. Ribs and shrimp meal was small. Food came quickly, after a 40 minute wait on a Friday.

This our our favorite place now. They have these delicious Orange Crush drinks for only $5 during 3-6 happy hour. I also had ahi tuna bites and the She Crab soup. Both were delicious. My husband had the fried shrimp the first evening and the Crab Imperial the second day which he said were excellent. We had a fantastic server name Dawn that made it a delightful experience. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Virginia Breach.

We had the broiled crab cakes for lunch. They were smaller than expected, but delicious!! The service was very efficient almost to the point of being annoying. The ambiance was great and the prices were as expected in a tourist restaurant - a bit on the high side. The overall experience was good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a great Virginia Beach meal.

Can't beat their Orange Crush drinks! Tried the creamsicle one and it was so delicious! I also had the regular cheeseburger they're, and it was one of the best burgers I've had... With yummy fries too. Our server was really nice and checked on us throughout the meal. Sat outside in the covered porch which was great!

This place was great. Much busier than I expected for a Thursday night but the hostess, Mollie, who was super nice BTW, got us seated quickly. The fish tacos were very good. So were the appetizers. We had the crab dip and loaded fries. Will definitely go back.

my husband and i eat here whenever we come to the beach, we love it here! the staff is all fabulous, including the young man who waited on us on monday. we were on our way out, so we stopped for lunch, but the hubs really wanted an item on their dinner menu, and they were more than accommodating. the restaurant is beautiful and clean, view is wonderful. the food is of course delicious as well! the gift shop inside is worth the trip in even if you're not hungry, but definitely grab a drink. ;)

This was our first time visiting this location. RESERVATIONS: Yes, Large Party of twenty for my Sister-in-Laws Birthday. VALET: Available PRICE: A tad expensive - For Two: Appetizer, Soup and Two Meals $109.63 ATMOSPHERE: It is a wonderful ocean side restaurant. The décor compliments the ocean front setting. Extremely Clean. It is also very busy I strongly suggest making reservations even for two especially during the weekend. SERVICE: The service was pretty good considering the large size of our party. We only had to remind our server of two or three things and one meal was placed in incorrectly by server. FOOD: My Order Appetizer: Flash-Fried Calamari - It was delicious, lightly battered and cooked perfectly. Complimented by seafood sauce and three lemon wedges Meal: Seafood Mediterranean - It is not a very large dish but the taste was pretty good. I did however have to lightly salt the dish as to bring out the taste of the Pasta. Since there were so many people I can only tell you that everyone in the party enjoyed there food thoroughly but complained of portion sizing. REVISIT SCALE: 8 1/2 SCALE 1 - 10

I ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta (minus the red peppers and onions). My food arrived promptly with red peppers and onions anyway. Once I picked out the red peppers and onions, the pasta was so flavorful, I couldn't even remove a star from the rating. I'll definitely be returning to try something else but I recommend this dish for sure!
