First time at ocean eddies and let me say the views are to absolutely die for if sitting at the outdoor patio. Also cant beat the sound of the waves crashing while having a nice drink or two. Service was fast and very attentive service. Eli also made sure to accommodate our needs and made sure we had everything we needed . Service was fast and food was exceptional. I would recommend the calamari and fried oyster. Make sure to ask for Eli as your server he"ll make you feel right at home .

Have eaten here before and one of our favorite places to go to when we visit VB. Located on the pier across from Sandcastle, which is where we stay. Didn’t realize they are continually changing their menu, but there’s always something on the menu we all enjoy. I had the fried shrimp platter and it was excellent! Lightly breaded which is how I like it. Great waitstaff, quick service, delicious food, reasonably priced. Our kind of place! We’ll be back next time we’re in VB!

Excellent food with beautiful ocean views. We got a nice secluded spot and enjoyed our meal with cocktails-strawberry fizz and ocean breeze. French fries were perfectly crispy, catch of the day-Blackened Tuna, fried shrimps & fish sandwich were great too and you must try the crab dip. The only nuisance was little birdies troubling the guests.

Stopped in to get away from the rain. Nice spot to sit and hang. Friendly staff, decent selection of beer (cans/ bottle only), no hard liquor. 4 stars because my fries I got tasted like they had been sitting out for a while very chewy and no warm at all. Good flavor. Just not the kind of person to send things back. Give me your best first! The outside deck was my favorite part.

Hands down my best restaurant and service experience. Beth our server was so incredible, great recommendations for menu items and even new musicians. If I lived near by I may never go anywhere else. Amazing views, atmosphere, and food! Don't question or think of another stop if you're near-by!

My husband and I had lunch here with two other adults and an infant. The food and service were both good. We ordered hush puppies, the Fresh Catch which was salmon at the time, and my husband had a crispy fish roll. The hush puppies were average, but our entrees were very good. A bit pricey, but worth it for quality food.

After several days & nights of average at best food and service, Ocean Eddie’s delivered! Food was awesome, service was great, and the view was perfect. Food for 4 with an appetizer and 4 adult beverages was $140 with tip.

The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and I loved eating outside and being able to see the ocean waves crashing so close to us! (We we up higher.) I got a dinner with flounder and french fries. Loved it. If you get a chance to eat there, go! I'm so glad I was able to go there!

This is a very good seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach! It is right on the boardwalk and has affordable prices and great views. My server was nice and pretty attentive. Didn’t have any problems (food could have been a little faster) and the food was delicious. I thought $14 for two pretty big fish tacos was a pretty reasonable price.

Beautiful location right on the pier. Strawberry Fizz was delicious, same with the frozen drinks, margarita and piña colada. The French fries were incredible, crackly and crunchy. The fish sandwich was also fantastic. Lightly breaded and crispy and warm soft fish underneath.

Drink was very yummy although pretty weak - the location is very nice it was so much fun to be on the pier with an ocean view. I had the crab cake sandwich which was pretty good - not sure if the restaurant reads this but this sandwich would be so much better with a firmer, toasted bun! The crab cake inside was amazing but my bun was sooo soggy hahaha. Waitress very friendly too I'd recommend going here for the location alone

Omg I cannot express how good this place was. Service was amazing. I had the seasonal soft shell crab sandwich and hush puppies. My friend had shrimp tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back!!!

Food was fresh and fast! Wait time was only 10 minutes and they allowed us to go to the bar and hang out in the meantime. Accompanied a large party and they were able to accommodate us all for several hours. Viki was a great server. Very fun, energetic and appeared passion to put smiles on our faces while we dined. Highly recommend if visiting VA Beach.

This place was absolutely wonderful! The fried fish tacos were phenomenal. Plus an ocean view! The service was absolutely wonderful (Hayden was so attentive & kind!), and the owner was so friendly and even gave me recommendations for attractions. I can’t wait to come back!

We sat at the bar while we waited to be seated. We enjoyed a lovely view of the beach and tasty, strong drinks and an appetizer. Our bartender was friendly and attentive. We were seated in just the amount of time we were told. Our server was busy but checked on us often and our drinks, side and dessert came out super fast. We shared the Islander steamed platter, which was done just right. Everything tasted great. Beautiful scenery outdoors overlooking the beach and ocean.

Authentic beachy feel! Server was very nice and accommodating when we decided we wanted to sit outdoors after being seated inside initially. Although it was HOT outside, the AMAZING view of the beach was too great to pass up. This restaurant has the BEST location on the boardwalk. Oh! The drinks and food were delicious, as well. Will definitely eat here again.

This place looks quaint. But let me tell you, the food is to die for! Best seafood we’ve ever had. Ordered the crab dip appetizer and the crispy shrimp basket. They came out right away. I could eat that crab dip by the spoonful. The shrimp was perfect. For our entrees we ordered the sautéed yellowfin tuna and crispy fish tacos. Both were phenomenal. I’ve been craving the tacos ever since. The ocean view definitely enhanced our experience, too!

The lobster mac was to die for. The oysters on the half shell was fresh. However, my wife was disappointed with the fried seafood platter. Wasn't very crisp by the time it was tabled. Sorry Ocean Eddie's, this was for the Calypso Bar and Grill. My bad.

The fried pickles were amazing, really the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was lackluster. Went around 4pm on a weekday so there was no wait, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back for the pickles!!

It's not a "5 star" 5 star type place - but it's a great location - an awesome place to sit and have a great meal. The food is always good and always fresh. Great appetizers, great drinks, great entrees. We love stopping here on our way home from the beach. We sit outside in the shade, in the ocean breeze, having an orange crush and have a great and affordable seafood meal. So its 5 stars to me without the cloth table covers & napkins.

I really enjoyed my experience at Ocean Eddies. We had to wait but it was peak season so that is completely understandable. They texted us when our table was ready so we could explore the neighboring shops while we waited. Our waiter was nice and helpful. The food was pretty good and the view was really nice! My friend and I arrived for dinner just before closing (we were unaware til later). We sat at the bar and were fairly promptly presented with menus. I ordered a crabcake sandwich, which was good, and a beer. She ordered the peel-and-eat shrimp, hush puppies and a piña colada. She loved the shrimp and piña colada, but described the hush puppies as hard. Our service was good - friendly and attentive - especially considering our time of arrival.

Right at the entrance to the fishing pier outside of Best Western Sand Castle. The salmon was the catch of the day and was delicious, though the green beens could have been a little more tender. My older son had the baked mac n cheese and could not keep his little brother off of his plate. They both said it was awesome. My husband enjoyed his pasta as well, but I would NOT recommend the Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

This place is in a great location with an amazing view of the beach and ocean. The five stars is for the overall experience. The food is more 4 stars. The prices were reasonable considering the location. The service was great.

Chowder was nice, had chunks of fresh onions and carrots plus nice pieces of tender seafood. The fried fish was scrumptious and while the shrimp was good a few were a tad on the overcooked and rubbery side. The crab cakes are 99% crab with crab in every single bite. We didn't get to all of the food that we ordered but left feeling full and satisfied. My 2 crab cakes were more than one person can eat so I have lunch covered for tomorrow. We spent about $80 for 2 adults with no alcoholic beverages but it was worth it.

No wait to be seated on a holiday weekend Sunday morning, seating outside on the pier. Relaxing vibes. Yummy breakfast drinks and the Biggie T sandwich was so yummy. Beautiful view but, for a "seafood restaurant", very little seafood other than fried which I could easily get away from the coast. Hoped for fresh offerings prepared well but missed the mark. Crab dip was delicious. Catch of the day, salmon, was cooked perfectly but served with salsa, peppers and onions which overpowered the fish and didn't make sense. They need menu advice from a good chef and connections with local fishermen.

The view is excellent and the food was mostly good with the exception of the chicken sandwich. It was extremely over cooked to the point of being mostly inedible. The fried shrimp though were outstanding with a delicious batter. The burger with a crabcake was also quite good along with the fried pickle appetizer.

The market price items are very well priced. You’d expect them to be much higher than they are. I got the Fresh Catch which was pan seared tuna with green beans and roasted garlic potatoes and it was amazing! The raw oysters were also MP and we’re like $10 for 6 fresh ones. I was skeptical at first, because they didn’t seem to have it all together when we walked in, but once we were sat and ordered drinks… that’s when they started to shine. They did have several people come around and make sure someone was helping us get seated while we stood at the front in just the matter of a few minutes which was nice!

Amazing crab legs, definitely King size like they claim they are. Some restaurants claim kings size but they aren't as big as ocean eddies! Hush-puppies are the best I have ever had!! Over all amazing experience and something I have done the past two years and plan to do in the future!

Every time I go to VA Beach, I always make it a point to eat at this restaurant!! They have the absolute BEST crab legs and hush puppies! I don't even really like hush puppies all that much, but I eat every last one from Ocean Eddie's! Out of every restaurant I've been to, their crab legs are always the biggest and best around. If you're into seafood and you're considering stopping here, DO IT! You'll have a full belly and no regrets. 😊

We've been to Virginia Beach for 4 straight years. We've ate all over probably every high-end or high rated restaurant. Eddie's by far was the best #1 the Calamari was perfectly made, the Crab albeit 45.00 you get three clusters it's a lot once again perfect, Jake our server even made a special 🍨 dessert for my Daughter- very nice. Furthermore the whole experience was A+++++++

My boyfriend and I have been in VA for a few days and this has by far been the best restaurant experience yet! The staff and the managers were absolutely amazing! I have celiac and they were very accommodating! Heather was our server and she was absolutely wonderful! Thank you all for an awesome experience! We will be back on our next road trip!

Overrated. Food was ok but the same offerings you can find anywhere. My fried oysters were barely cooked and then deep fried. Might as well have been raw. Great views off the balcony seating. Service was good. Wait was LONG. It was Friday night. Won't return.

Guys... Come here. It's amazing and the staff was great. Don't skimp, get the crab legs. I have eaten crab maybe 150 times in my life and this, bar none, was the best experience I've ever had. I recommend getting a vegetable as one or both of your sides to balance the palate. Don't worry, in addition to the 2 sides, you still get their delicious hush puppies as a sort of 3rd side included. If you can sit outside, it's the best spot in town. Every single person in our group of 8 was in complete agreement. This place was a must on any future visits.

We have decided we will eat here every time we come to Virginia Beach! Amazing food with a great view; ask for patio seating, it is definitely worth the slightly longer wait. Everyone is so friendly, such a great atmosphere. If there is a long wait, just give them your name and mobile number and they will text you when you are at the front of the wait list. I guarantee you will not regret waiting! There is plenty to do along the Oceanfront while you wait anyway. The adult beverages are phenomenal! Also a quick shout out to Cemile and/or whoever made our drinks on 5 Sept 2022: When our 4-year-old son wanted the same adult beverage we were enjoying, they came out with a look-alike just for him! (It was just Sprite with blue food coloring, but the fact that they went the extra mile like that really made his day.)

So I is my birthday today so my family brought me here. There was not an unreasonable wait time. I was going to give fewer stars bc several items we wanted to order was not available but then I thought, they have run out bc they are such a popular place and the food is delicious and fresh!! Our waiter Eli was so kind and patient and apologized for the fact it was that experience for my birthday. However, I am a greatful and glass half full type of person so the food was delicious, hot and fresh and we were able to watch the dolphins play the entire time we were there. Thank you Eli and Oceans Eddies for helping me to positively celebrate my birthday!!!

Food and service were okay....just not a wide range of choices, waited over 15 minutes by the "Please wait to be seated" sign, until we were finally acknowledged by one of the many passing staff members (It was 2 p.m. the day after Labor Day, just started raining, and they were not very busy)...no honey mustard, salt shaker almost empty and the humidity got to what little was left-they need to add rice to the salt in the shakers to absorb the moisture, the mayonnaise is just left on the tables in squeeze bottles with other condiments. Truly felt it was over priced, for what we received. There are many restaurant choices along the strip, and we plan on trying some different one's next time!

Ocean Eddie's is our favorite place on the Boardwalk. This trip, however is was mediocre at best. We order the same thing everytime we visit. Appetizer: Fried Calamari: Not crispy at all. Very rubbery and not seasoned Entree #1: Fish Tacos: the cabbage wasn't really shredded and very little sauce. Hard to eat Entree #2: Fried Shrimp and fries (Best part of the meal Hushpuppies: EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. The hushpuppies have always been our favorite. The sweet butter and puppies was phenomenal. When we found out they were now serving with just plain butter we tried them anyway. NOPE NOPE NOPE. So, overall, it was a bad lunch visit and very disappointing.

I was very surprised by how good the food is! I thought it would just be bar type food but I was genuinely blown away. The fried oydsters were delicious and the fish and fries were not what I was expecting! I was expecting beer battered fried cod but it came out as a large slab of fried fish! Delicious! Nice place...nice waitresses....fish and chips and Mahi fish tacos were amazing. Waited 10 minutes with no reservation so that was nice. We just had to ask for silverware and napkins but everything else was great.

OMG - I tried the fish wrap and it was amazing. People at the table next to us has fish tocos and the Tuna rap and they were raving about the flavors. I am not sure what the sauce was but the pineapples really gave it a fun flavor. Highly recommend you try This place!

This place was such a pleasant surprise! The staff was so friendly and several people acknowledged or welcomed us as we came in. That was not the case for several other restaurants we tired in the area. Seated quickly. The service was great. The food- the food was AMAZING! Some of the best I have had in my life. From the seared fish to the hamburger to the key lime pie and calamari. Just so delicious. The view is, of course, great since you are on the pier. Inside decor is an older beach bar vibe. I can’t say enough great things about the whole experience. I never write reviews but this place was one of those places you eat a meal and never forget it.

I ordered the blackened fish wrap but it didn’t come with fries or anythin so definitely not enough food for the price. Sister ordered fried shrimp and they were really good. Coleslaw was not good at all, very dry and a strong vinegar taste. Their salmon was amazing which was the catch of the day.

Service was just ok but the food definitely made up for it. It was July 4th weekend so I'm sure they were busier than normal, but we saw virtually every table around us (with a different server) receive service quicker than we did. I think a lot of it had to do with a large party that was constantly complaining about who knows what and taking up too much of the server's time from his other tables. I've managed restaurants and I know at what point the manager needs to step in and handle the situation and let the server continue with their other tables. I never saw a manager take over and the poor server was left to deal with all the issues himself. And for that WE ended up getting less than great service as well... Something you all should consider next time. The fish and fries were outstanding! So fresh and flaky, not heavy and greasy at all. Oysters were pretty small and the shucker did a kind of sloppy job but they tasted pretty fresh. I would definitely return and recommend. Maybe on a normal weekend they do better because the setting is perfect and the food is delicious!

We stopped in for a quick bite while visiting Virginia Beach this week. We were promptly and courteously seated and our server was just wonderful; friendly, cheerful, and pleasant. My wife ordered a cup of vegetable soup and I ordered a cup of fish chowder and a cup of coffee. When I say cup, I don't think there was a full cup (by measurement) of soup in the tiny bowls they were served in. My wife's vegetable soup tasted awful, like it was several days old. My chowder was very thick and tolerable, but not very good. The coffee was just awful and I could not drink more than the first sip. $7 for the soup and $8 for the chowder was too expensive for what we got.

I can’t say anything except great things about this place! Right when I walked in my family of 8 and I were welcomed with warm smiles and greetings, not only by the hostess Parker, but by every employee that passed by. The wait time was about 20 minutes for the outside deck, while we were waiting us adults had a drink at the bar. I highly recommend the Ocean Breeze drink. The bartender was fast with the drinks and a cutie! Not long after we ordered the drinks, we were sat at a beautiful big table around the corner. Our table had a perfect view of the beautiful ocean. We are from Idaho and are visiting the rest of our local family here in Virginia Beach over spring break. My kids had never seen the ocean before, and I think this extraordinary view was a great first experience for them here. We started off with a few appetizers, the crab dip was so was so creamy filled with lots of crab. We went to another seafood restaurant over our time here and the crab dip was absolutely disgusting, for good quality crab dip coming here is a must. The food overall was amazing, I ordered the shrimp tacos and when I say the sauce on those was delightful I mean it! I also tried some of my husband’s seared fish, almost as good as my tacos! For dessert we ordered 3 of each dessert so we could all try (Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Ooey Gooey Cake, and Strawberry Ice cream Sunday!) My favorite was the Chocolate Ooey Gooey Cake. I rate this restaurant 5 stars!

The food was perfect, it came out quick (we got there right when it opened) it was hot and super fresh. The shrimp was fantastic the tuna also perfect. I saw another review saying the fries were crunchy but flavorless (whatever that means) but they were also great and flavorful. We ordered a few alcoholic drinks they were amazing, they have lots of fun different kinds to choose from also! Definitely check this place out!!

We enjoyed dinner on the deck watching the waves break on the shore. We ordered a cup of seafood chowder which was pretty good, and our teen daughter loved the fried pickles. I was told Ocean Eddie's was a "must have" while visiting Virginia Beach and I agree entirely! My family and I had the best meal of our week long stay in Virginia Beach at Ocean Eddie's! My kids had crab legs that they devoured entirely! I decided I wasn't very hungry when we arrived and made the decision to share the shrimp tacos with my oldest son and then immediately regretted my decision to share when I took my first bite. Great food in a more "vintage" beach themed building on the pier. Better selection and better quality than another "fancy" restaurant we went to on our trip. Came back here for a 2nd night. Nice view on the beach. The "lime-fish sauce" is bangin and great for french fry dipping or on your burger. The Lime infused pork sliders are really different, worth a try!

I wanted a nice place to view the ocean while eating breakfast with my cousin. I've seen this place for over 20 years, but never went in. No reason, just never did. We walked this morning and my cousin saw people outside on the deck, so we went in, beautiful view. Nice and to the point. Couldn't have asked for a better view. The food was inexpensive and really good. Our waitress was very nice. I definitely plan to go back. Not a large menu for breakfast, but it was really worth the price and I really enjoyed the view. If you want inexpensive but good oceanfront eating, this is the place.

Great seafood on a pier that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Loved the fried flounder and shrimp. The steamed plate included clams, oysters and crab legs. Our waiter, Lawrence did a fantastic job.

Little slow making drinks but when you finally get them they're amazing. Rum runners are great here. All the food was great especially the chowder. A/c was ice cold. The outside seating is the best location in the area. Friendly servers

This restaurant was one picked on a whim and was WELL worth every bite! My family and I had the fried oysters and calamari for apps. AMAZING! I have never had calamari with a sweet chili dipping sauce, but this paired well together. The fried oysters were in a light batter that allowed for all of the flavor to come through. The Fried platter was more expensive than I would have thought for the amount of food on the plate BUT the food was delicious and there was a great selection of sides. The Pina colada was very good, I was not impressed by the rum runner. The staff were beyond great with service, friendliness and they went out of their way to be courteous & helpful. Corbin, our waiter deserves a shout out! Great Great GREAT! Can't wait to come back to Ocean Eddie's again!

While traveling I wanted to have some oysters and look at the ocean. Couldn't have picked a better place. I was by myself but ended up meeting some locals. The food was great and so was the service. I have a great time hanging out with the very friendly locals eating oysters and drinking beer. Pretty sure I was there for 3+ hours. We were sitting on the deck so the view was amazing. If I am ever back in town I will visit again for sure! Cheers!

5 stars for the priceless view and s meal that exceeded my expectations. I had the broiled shrimp and crab in butter. It came with 2 hushpuppies and 2 sides. I took home half the crab. I ate the broccoli while it was hot. The Hollandaise on the side was unexpected and very good. My family had fried seafood items, grouper tacos, shrimp and chips, flounder sandwich. No leftovers. Cocktails, beer and wine are available. The best part was sitting outside with the view of the pier and the ocean. The service was excellent too!

Stopped for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Seated right away in the outside section, nice view of the beach/ocean. Great service provided by Lawrence, great food (Fried Flounder sandwich and crab cake sandwich), and good beer! Staff was very nice and followed all the COVID Guidelines as best I could see.

It was expensive, but worth every penny. It doesn't look much from the outside, the table and chairs were a little wobbly, etc., it's not new and trendy. But, you know what, none of that matters because everything else was awesome. The food was fresh, really tasty and cooked perfectly. The service was great, fast and friendly. It was overlooking the ocean, connected to the pier. The whole vibe was great. We kept talking about the meal/restaurant several times through out the day and how good it was and how we can't wait to go again next time we are on vacation. I couldn't recommend it enough.

Loved this place! It was on the edge of the ocean on a pier, giving a cool view from inside. They also have outdoor seating. The shrimp and french fries were great, along with the hush puppies. The service was good and the food came out fast too. They also had some live music. I would recomend stopping here for some delicious food!

Great spot with a great ocean view. Some seating outside that is covered. Recommend for a change of pace for locals and a good place for an up close view of the beach and ocean. No other restaurant is this close to the water in VB.

Excellent place!But there was two problems. 1:When I ordered the veggie burger I was expecting a normal sized burger BUT IT WAS HUGE. 2:When ever I tried to get out of my seat it was really hard because the table was so low. The staff is very friendly.Great place I recommend the crab dip and shrimp tacos.

Food was decent. Saw our waiter when he took our order, brought our food, and delivered the bill. This means the ketchup and napkins that we requested didn't come till after the meal. The restaurant wasn't even crowded! Still, it was nice sitting by ocean.

My first experience at Eddies was great; the seafood was top notch. In addition, the service was equally as nice! However, the second time we visited, at the height of the pandemic, the cook staff was not wearing a face covering. On top of that he used the same dish rag in his back pocket to wipe his mouth and food prep surfaces. Hopefully it was just a fluke and it will be taken care of. I’d hate to have a place with great food ruined by careless employees!

We've never had anything bad at Ocean Eddies, and the crab cake is super good. The wait staff is extremely competent and the view is great. We are locals, and this is one of the few places we go for a seafood treat. Don't forget to ask for a parking discount at the lot adjacent to the pier if you are on the way to Ocean Eddies.

Neat restaurant by the shore, nice breeze outside at night. Good meal selection, the fried grouper tacos were delicious, flounder sandwich was decent. Meal prices were reasonable, however drinks are a bit overpriced considering there was hardly any alcohol on the piña colada.

We love Ocean Eddies! This is our 4th year here & always make our way to Ocean Eddies. Husband always gets the Islander with crab legs, shrimp, clams, oysters. I have been craving good grilled shrimp so i tried the grilled shrimp tacos. They were amazing! You have to get the crab dip too if they still have it on special. Yummy! This place is on the fishing pier & is right on the water. It is nothing fancy, just a beach shack with good food! Give it a try

This place is directly on the beach. E has been wanting to go to the beach for it seems like centuries and today was her chance! We wanted to get as close to the action as possible. Ocean's Eddie is a seafood restaurant on the pier. They offer outdoor seating with an oceanview. Food was decent. Server must have been either new or just wasn't with the task that night. He kept forgetting things and two of our orders were wrong. He was apologetic about it. There is usually a wait but not long though.

Eddie's is exactly what to expect at the typical local seafood restaurant on the Boardwalk. All fried baskets, good seafood handhelds good salads and a great beer selection's. Known for the rum runner it lived up to the bill. We ate there for lunch and really enjoyed it. Ask for Sarah she made it a perfect experience.

Good food, friendly staff but they should be taught how to properly wear their masks during this pandemic. It would cover their noses and mouths and they shouldn't take them down to speak to customers or each other (that's literally the transmission if the particles). I'm also not sure about their table clesning products. So just make sure you bring your sanitizer to stay safe

Pre-Covid - Always a good experience here. Great food at a good price. Post Covid it seems like they're still working their way back to standard. Just ate there and our service, drinks and food were pretty bad. Not our usual experience. I hope they get back to normal! Also... Leaving mayonnaise out in the summer sun all day is... gross.

A must try is their beer (or vodka) Oyster Shooter. It was fun. Food is OK but we noticed a pattern that servers are forgetful. They are really nice but they tend to forget utensils, sides , etc. The first time, they handed us the wrong order. I can understand they get really busy but should do something about it.
