Lawn King

Not typical hotel restaurant. High quality food. But what really stands out is the cooks really know how to cook. Their fried food is awesome, not a drop of grease on anything. Very rare a fry cook can do this. The fried shrimp will compete with anything on VA Beach, seafood restaurant or otherwise. The waitress Taylor was top notch and super helpful. I would without a doubt recommend this restaurant. We ate their twice and it was flawless both times. The drink prices were the only reason it did not get 5 stars. Thanks to the staff for a job well done.

Food was great. Tad pricey ($20+ for lunch basket each minus drink but portions are good sized) $25 for lb peel and eat shrimp. Corn hush puppies are delicious!!! Staff are friendly. Robot delivers your food.

The food was better than the food at King of the Sea but for the price it wasn't what it needed to be. The games were fun but the $35 in fees added to my bill killed the buzz for that. Oh and the occasional gold fish being thrown from the balcony of one of the rooms above the restaurant took away from the experience.

Food was alright, husband got a chicken sandwich and I got a burger. Burger didn’t have much flavor but the fries were really good. Service was okay could have been better ( she wasn’t very friendly and we kept Having to ask for refills). 20% tip is added onto bill for tip making the total a little high for just a chicken sandwich and burger.

The food was great the service was better. Open porch right on the boardwalk with a beach view. They also had the option of inside dining or patio with outside bar. Overall great atmosphere and dining experience. We will return.

So I'm not sure how this would be if we went in season. Off season is not bad but there is no real staff for waiting tables. We sat down and looked at the menu and then went back up to order. The food was good and the seating was nice a well. I'm looking forward to going back next season.

The food was pretty good, the guys at the bar (where you order) are friendly, for what it was, I didn't see the value... 4 of us, 3 meals and 4 drinks for $240 .... bathrooms are in question to stay the least and atmosphere is ok (sitting on old picnic table with no table service)

I would have given 3 stars had my initial experience and then end experience not have been pleasant. The guy at the front was helpful getting us a seat and explaining everything to us. This is a bar they were not serving food when we were there. But there is a Benny's Pizza next door where you can grab a slice or a whole pie. Biggest slices ever! Back to the review pizza sidetracked me. Patiently waiting and waiting I'm fine with the fact they are busy. A couple walks up and guess who the bartender tries to help first. I politely say I was here first and need a menu. He was short with me like he needed to hurry and get back to the 2 people who came after me. He even attempted to take the paper menu from me and says we are not serving food. Ok lad can I look at ya drinks then? I took it to our table to let the folks we were with know only alcoholic drinks being served. We tried to get the kids drinks just soda and they were not selling fountain drinks but put them in some of the drinks k save on resources. Finally got a drink and that bartender was much more pleasant. Go to pay same dude tricky little fella skirts past me a female bartender sees and asked me how she can help I closed out my 1 drink tab really wanted to not leave a tip but did and decided to leave this long a__ review. In summary would I return probably not.

This hotel was very clean and dust free. The room was quiet and the ocean view was amazing. If you are an individual with a disability you definitely have to inform the owner because there are stairs only getting to the rooms. Otherwise, the location is close to everything. Half minute to oceanfront and boardwalk. Sorry but totally forgot to take photos of the room. The price is affordable and cost efficient.

I just came here for a few beers but was actually quite surprised they had a live DJ who played a variety of genres if music. Pretty awesome they allow pets and also have quite a few games to play. I did not eat here but heard the food was quite delicious. Also the seats outside are like swing benches so freaking cool. Im would come back and visit again.!

Outstanding Dinner! We waited more than 25 minutes for our food but, the food was delicious. The server was attentive and we even got a free round of drinks as compensation for the waiting time! The background music was great selection from the 80's. The outdoor scenario was perfectly beautiful with the board walk, pedestrians, tricycles and the ocean further down just like in a movie.

It's located on the main level of Hyatt House by the beach. Outdoor seating with walk up bar and restaurant. There was a band playing when we went. I love how they have a kids play area. Although the speakers were blasting in that direction. Food could be better. Ordered burger, fish fillet, and wings. Frozen everything. Did not taste fresh at all. Just microwaved prepackaged food it seems like. You'll be paying more for the ambiance. Server was friendly.

Amazing staff, Karen was very attentive and made you feel at home. Initially I thought this was just a bar but turned out to be a great breakfast place. Being a coffee lover, the cup was never empty. Also an unrushed experience!

Not a bad place to just relax, chat with people, and have a good time. Especially when it’s nice moderate weather, not too hot and not too cool. The waiter we had was pretty awesome and super friendly and courteous, I wish I could remember his name. I would love to check out this place in the evening when they have bands going. The food here was fine, I got the Baja Tacos (Cod fish) and they were fine for the most part. Not the best I’ve had but definitely good in their own right.

Some of the best staff you can ask for. They have an inside location and an outdoor bar with bar games. While most of my time was spent at the inside bar, I did venture outside every once and awhile for to play corn hole, or have my drink chilled on the ice bar. The inside staff was amazing, during my stay at the hotel connected, I had become sort of a regular downstairs to watch plenty of playoff games. I never once felt like I wasn’t welcome, I was treated with the most outstanding care that one could ask for. All the food I had was delicious to include the steak bowl, crab legs, crab dip, Philly cheese steak, and chicken tenders. 10/10 would recommend, and if I am ever back in VB I will be going back just to see the staff.

The food was good but pricey. Hush puppies were very good. Be aware they charge a hefty extra fee that the server told us went to the kitchen staff because they weren't paid enough. Customers shouldn't have to tip the kitchen staff. On top of that we tipped the server.

Great food and great service! We sat at the bar to avoid waiting for a table on a busy night, and it was a great decision. The prices were a little wonky - my pound of crab legs cost more than my husband’s Steamer entree which included mussels, shrimp, sausage, and a pound of crab legs - but overall everything was worth the price.

Very nice waitress. I had a shrimp salad that was very fresh. My lil guest had the crab dip. All of the food was good. We enjoyed being adjacent to the beach outdoors on the glider tables. One issue like everywhere seemed to be short staff. Slow service but worth the wait.

Overall the food was decent. We got the chicken tender basket and the chicken sandwich basket. All baskets come with fries, hushpuppies, and coleslaw. The food is a bit pricey and it's an extra charge if you use card rather than cash. I was disappointed in the portion size of my fries (looked like a kids small) especially for the price I paid. I won't be returning, but wasn't the worst.

It's convenient, but that's about it. The food is edible, the service is okay, so if you're on the beach and you are extremely tired/extremely hungry and don't want to walk anywhere further, this place will do. Given the proximity to the beach, prices are high and they charge a fee for using credit cards.

I did not dislike this place but I ordered fish-and-chips and the fish came soggy and tasted really strange. The crab cake sandwich was ok. They were kind enough to take it back. Wait staff was cool. we sat at this kind of seesaw table that went back-and-forth... It was really cute but it's not the easiest thing to get out of. LOL

I really liked that the staff was so friendly and seemed happy to work especially with it being so hot. I also liked the swing tables alot; they were fun but I wasn't able to reach the table to eat my food because it was so far away from the seat. (Even with the sticks on the bottom to pull the leaf up) The food was very overpriced for what you got. We ordered the fish and chips, chicken bowl and got their locals favorite, Ocean 27 effin crush. The fish and fries were overcooked. The bowl was good but not worth the price. The crush was good but got watered down quickly because it was so hot (to be expected). We spent $23 for the bucket.. so not worth it. Overall I would not recommend this place or return simply because of the overpriced and underwhelming food and drinks.

Excellent customer service. The fried fish & shrimp were delicious. The steamed shrimp and sausage was disgusting. The crab legs were frozen. The potatoes were raw and the corn was overcooked.

Ask to sit in a "Glider" -- they're just fun. Drinks here are expensive but good. Food is expensive but bad. Service is inattentive. Still, it's directly on the beach. Stop in for a few drinks and a game of Cornhole.

This is a nice spot with a cool concept. In my opinion, it is definitely a better spot to just hang out and drink vs eat. The food is definitely not their selling point. Be prepared for a wait at the bar if you come on a weekend or evening. We had to wait a good while to get our drinks but to make up for that, the staff was very nice, friendly, and apologetic of the wait times.

This place was awesome! We have a 3 year old and it's not easy to keep her entertained during dinner, but this place was perfect! We ended up staying for hours and she had a blast playing with all the outdoor games. We got burgers that were actually pretty delicious and the drinks were strong! I read other reviews complaining about the price, but considering the fact that there were 2 hostesses, a bouncer, 3 bartenders, a ton of waitstaff and a DJ I would say this place is a bargain! In fact, their service and food was much better than most places on the strip and totally worth the tab! I've already told two other people about this place that are planning trips in the near future. The male bartender with the man bun was super attentive and remembered exactly what we were drinking on a busy Friday night! He was awesome!

Came in Tuesday night & the bartender was great. He was the only one behind the bar and was still able to check up on us and recommended various things to do in the area. All the drinks were fantastic & timely. Since they've been understaffed, he had mentioned his schedule & honestly props to this bar for having someone as hardworking as him. I really wish I had gotten his name, however being as busy as it was, I wasn't able to. Definitely pay him a visit !

This place is a definite repeat. It makes our favorite list. The ladies at the door were so sweet and smiles on their faces. The wait staff were awesome. The live music was great. The food was superb. Highly recommend stopping here you won't regret it. 09-09-19 update: We came back 1 year later and the food is still just as good. Crab dip and veggie tray was a light meal for a girl watching her calories and a guy cheering her on. Still rate this place with 3.75 stars.

Definitely the spot to get food, drinks, and experience a great atmosphere. The live music is a plus, good vibes all around, and the staff are friendly, tip them well because they do work hard. Wings here are underrated, skip bdubs, wings stop, and all those other wing places you may think are great and just give this spot a try if youre into wings.

Food was good. I had the shrimp and crab cake, wife had the Cali chicken, kids had plain cheeseburgers. Little on the pricey side, but being at the beach you almost expect it. Service was a little slow, but not horrible. 1000% better than the meal we suffered through at Lager Heads. I would recommend this place if you don't mind dropping a little extra cash.

So. Good. We ordered food to go and had a few drinks while we waited. The atmosphere was so chill, lots of fun games and the seating looked so comfy! The servers/bartenders were so nice and the food was out of this world! Tasted like it came right from the water and into the steamer. We had the clam bake and I will be dreaming about it for days. Don't pass this spot up!

We arrived with a long line to get in. The person at the podium asked if anyone was here for food and we spoke up and we were immediately seated. We Ordered fried shrimp children's dinner. 4 friend shrimp and fries for $10. Our server, Sarah, was nice and helpful. We asked her about the kids meal. she came back and is brought one more shrimp out. She said the kids shrimp meal only comes with five to shrimp. She said the manager was going to take 20% off of this shrimp because of this. We have no complaints against our server she was very good. French fries were an up charge for other menu items. We never did get the lemon for the shrimp meal. My wife and I ordered the hamburger and fish tacos. This was very good. We must say the server, Sarah, had a great attitude and is a great representation of her company. She was very nice and fun.

This is a fun place, if you're looking for a beach type scenery with rocking picnic table this is the go to place with oversize cornhole, Jenga, and connect 4, my groups drinks were mixed well. This is my second time here and they told us they stopped serving food other than pizza and other things after memorial day. Tbh I was hoping to get another shot at trying other meals since it's been a while when I tried their pepperoni pizza and didn't like it. 3 stars because social value yes food no.

We stopped here for our first meal after traveling 12 hours. The ambiance was great! They had a play area for kids and the dj playing fun music helped them burn out some energy! I felt like the food was overpriced for what we got. Everything is fried, probably from frozen. The drinks tasted like they were made with some kind of pre-made mix, overly sweet.

As a local, I’ve been here for drinks a few times, never to eat. I love the idea but it’s a bit confusing when you walk in – do you seat yourself? Find someone to seat you? They have a nice variety behind the bar, but it’s super over-priced at like $7 for one White Claw (alcoholic sparkling water in a can). That may be the norm at some of these places catering to tourists, but they’ll have a hard time keeping the local crowd with that. I also agree that there should be a cut-off time where kids aren’t allowed anymore.

We enjoyed the cool set up of different outdoor bars, couches, tables, cabanas, and games here. We usually don't care for super kid friendly places but their activities and areas for them were nice. Good beer selection. Their parking had no price and the hostess told us the bartender would give us a pass, we were disappointed to see on the bill that it was $10. The location was very nice though, we walked up the boardwalk to the Neptune statue and back along the water.

Waited over 15 mintues for service even though there were maybe 12 guests seated in total. BUT once I did receive service the wait staff was great, attentive, and friendly. The food was.... ok. All I had was the side salad and burger plus bacon (they forgot the bacon 🤦🏾‍♀️ but they did bring it out once I notified a waitress). Ambiance is fun and inviting. When I come back I must get the crabs to truly judge the food lol.

The food was absolutely amazing, service was great. We had the deviled crab cakes the gator tail quesadillas and the fish and chips and everything was perfect wasn't too spicy but wasn't too cool great flavor. If you are on the oceanfront ocean 27 is a stop you have to make..

We walked up to this restaurant from the street side. Sign says you have to enter from the boardwalk side. So we walked all the way around to the back. We waited a bit then the hostess walked us all the way across the restaurant to the last booth right next to the closed street side entrance. I was rather disappointed looking at the menu. On their website they advertise all this seafood. Crab, lobster, mussels, clams....the works. Its advertised all over their decor also. They menu they gave us had none of that on it. It was their "spring time menu" is what the server told me. Because of covid they kept their simple menu through the summer season. Very disappointed because we walked all the way down there for some seafood. We wound up with some fried fish tacos and some shrimp tacos. Which yes are still "seafood" but I was wanting like steam pots full of good seafood like they have advertised on their website. Nowhere on the website does it say the menu is different. The tacos were good but not worth $15 for 3 tacos. I also had the steamed shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were way over cooked. They were hard to peel because the shells stuck to the meat from being over cooked. And I had to clean the poop vein out of about half my shrimp. I'm not a local so I won't be back to try them again.

Visited this restaurant on Saturday and it was one of the best restaurants on the strip. The restaurant has a fun outdoor setting with a lot of games especially directed towards kids. You can walk up from the beach and just go sit and have a relaxing meal. Food was hot and fresh. Menu is a little small, but that doesn’t bring down this restaurant at all. The staff is really friendly and always on top of their game. Will definitely come back to this spot again!

Excellent service and fun swinging picnic tables for outdoor seating when you're coming off the beach. But, the sweet tea was way off (metallic and overly sugared), and I felt the fish and chips was mediocre for the price.

The food was amazing. The four of us each had a great dish, from chicken tenders to tuna tacos. Get the pickled cucumbers. The only problem was extremely slow service. Work on that to get five stars!

Was a five until Keith the manager stated last call and we shared we heard and were waiting on our order we had in. Just a few seconds later he came back around with us returning with our drinks that they were closed...Keiths derogatory nature made the gentlemen at the table ask for his name...Keith then proceeded to yell at his staff " these are the people you chose as VIP tonight ". None of the gentlemen at the table knew the staff had adorned us with such a status. We left and made our way to our hotel adjacent to the bar/restaurant and continued to listen to Keith yell at/to his staff about this situation. Extremely ignorant and unprofessional. I hope they find a replacement , the awesome staff that works so hard there deserves a manager of a higher caliber and integrity!!!

Good service and surprisingly delicious food. The drinks were decent (maybe a bit overpriced) and the atmosphere sitting outside is really enjoyable. Our party had the fish tacos and the Cali chicken sandwich and they were excellent.

This place had decent drinks. The Whiskey Dreamcicle crush was terrific. They go down was too smoothly. Would definitely order some again. Get the calamari. Bathrooms are also clean and plenty of yard games.

Coming in the security bouncer isn't the friendliest people, or welcoming. Games that are outside are so weathered, they don't take good care of them out there. The music and atmosphere is awesome though! Great bartenders too!

I have no idea why this place has such a low rating but it sounds like alot of angry parents who don't know how to put your kids to sleep and then go out. My husband and I were visiting our in laws for a,couple of days to relax at their timeshare. We have three kids so once the kids fell asleep we got the in laws to watch them so we could go out and have some alone time. We walked down Atlantic avenue looking for a bar with reasonable priced drinks. We found Ocean 27 and immediately loved the atmosphere. We decided that was the place. We entered the bar after getting our wristbands on and sat at the bar. After about five seconds or so a bartender named Lauren approached us and asked what we wanted to order. My husband got a bud light and I was still deciding. Lauren said ok sweetie take your time. I finally decided to get the colada something. She made my drink,and we paid $11.00. We,sat there for a while talking and,reading reveiws. After that we went out of the roped area and,smoked a cigarette. Theybackthe last call while we were still smoking but my girl Lauren made me another drink and we paid and sat in one of their rocking picnic tables until they closed. We had a Wonderful experience and we are definitely coming back next year and every year after that. Lauren was one of the best bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. After leaving she wished a safe trip home as we were leaving the next day. I will definitely recommend this place to,friends and family as most of them vacation at va beach!! I Love This Place!! Do,not let the rating fool you it's a great place if you like good drinks and great people!!

Went on a Monday evening. Quiet , but the dj was awesome. Kept the beats going. You can eat, chill out, or play some games (table hockey, jenga, connect four, bean bag toss, etc.) Drinks are a bit pricey for what you get (my opinion) and were a bit watered down. Otherwise everything was great.

Great service, but 100% Walmart frozen burgers. I had this at 1 star, but the bread bacon and cheese/ wife’s food was good. I just don’t understand why a $14.00 burger has to be from Walmart.

I ended up here one lazy sunday afternoon to see a local band. That I happen to be close friends with. I had an awesome time. Great music, beautiful women, at an outside bar on the ocean. Salt air and a warm breeze give this place a great ambiance.

Our dinner was great last night. Wish they still had pizza tho. It was good. We will be back when we visit again and do reccomend them.

The staff is great..the DJ plays a variety of music. The view is perfect...the Chesapeake Bay is the backdrop.they even have a game area with corn hole, tic-tac-toe and more so its a nice local to chill*out after work.

Nice find on the boardwalk. Open until late night, has live music and swinging booths, boccia, giant jenga etc...great for both, kids and adults, trying to relax after "a hard day" on the beach. Good selection of cocktails and tasty apperizers.

Very nice outdoor space with a lot of good games but the drinks are very expensive for what you get and aren't particularly good. Not bad for 1 maybe 2 drinks but it is cost prohibitive to stick around for too long.

Ate here for lunch and sat outdoors. The food was good and the location was nice. You could go upstairs, and have a excellent view of the beach or sit downstairs and enjoy the music.
