Mahi’s serves insanely delicious food. We had all intentions of trying all sorts of different restaurants during our stay but ended up eating here three different times. We went back for breakfast two mornings in a row and ordered the same exact thing twice because it was incredible, if that tells you anything! We had the Crab Cake Benedict’s and the Spiced Rum French Toast which are both pictured. Their twist on the She Crab soup is out of this world, best I’ve ever had. Their Key Lime pie is made fresh there and crazy good (pictured as well). It’s a pretty restaurant, indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is directly on the boardwalk with a very beautiful view of the ocean (also pictured from our table). The bar is great and the nights we stayed, there was live music you could enjoy from their outdoor seating. We had a wonderful experience with the hotel as well. We had the most perfect view of the ocean from our room and the staff in both Mahi’s and the Double Tree by Hilton were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were so very impressed and know for certain we will be staying at the DoubleTree for our next visit and most definitely eating at Mahi’s for our now favorite dishes!

The food here was great! Really enjoyed everything and the drinks were awesome. We really liked the Key Lime Pie crush and the Blood Orange one. Service was awesome!! She crab soup was fantastic. Crab dip was yummy. Sushi was beautiful and tasty. Very glad we decided to go there, mostly because it didn't have live music going and we wanted something a little more toned down from the rest of the night life. Note, the menu on here isn't updated with the one in the restaurant.

Had a delicious dinner here tonight! The menu has a wide range of options so most people will find something they enjoy. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese sandwich with truffle fries and key lime pie. It was such a good comfort food choice! There was plenty of lobster and the sandwich was grilled to perfection. My guest ordered the crabcake sandwich and it was also good. Plenty of real crab with little fillers. The atmosphere has a casual, upscale feel. There is indoor and outdoor seating and service was prompt and attentive. Valet parking is available and they were also efficient and courteous. Would definitely return!!

Had a wonderful experience here. Started the meal with an order of Calamari, which was delicious. My husband and I ordered sushi - Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and California Roll. Lots of flavor. I enjoyed a blueberry lemonade crush as well. Our server was awesome and super attentive!

Came in for dinner and everything was amazing. Travis was my server. He did a great job with explaining and recommending items on the menu. I was very impressed with his service and his ability to know exactly what I would like. The food came out and everything looked just as good as it tasted. I was very impressed with the presentation of everything I ordered. I will definitely return again whenever I'm down at the oceanfront. Keep up the good work and tell Travis he's the real MVP! Average experience overall the server is occupied with other things and the food is not too bad. My surf n turf could use a little lemon to brighten up the taste. My son's sushi is not tasty at all. The tuna sandwich was good. The calamari could use some lemon as well.

Great dinner! Came here and had 2 Stella Artois on tap. Ordered a spicy tuna roll, spicy white tuna roll, and spicy salmon roll. Had the Mahi fish special (it’s now halibut). The halibut was really good. The sushi rolls were not bad, I’ve just had better. Key lime pie for dessert was great! My friend had the crab cakes and loved them.

Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite one was the blackened tuna taco. My son cleaned up his plate. He said the grilled tuna sandwich was really good.

As long as you go in knowing it's a higher priced restaurant, you will most likely have a good experience. We are a family of 6, two of us ordered different sushi options and shrimp dumplings, three of us ordered the Mahi platter, our youngest only ordered a side of fries, we ordered calamari as an appetizer, and my husband and I shared a jalapeno press drink (can't think of the exact name of it). The bill of around $270.00 included an automatic gratuity to the server probably because of the size of our table. Again, we knew it was a higher priced place so no surprise. Everything tasted delicious and we left happy.

Absolutely the best Oyster Rockefeller & Crab dip I've had. Atmosphere welcoming and service wonderful. Will be returning to try more menu items out for sure. **ps..im not letting this effect my 5 star review due to the outstanding service..but repairing the womens bathroom slates in the stall doors, need to be a priority **

This place is so underrated which had me putting it off for some time. When we arrived the customer service was immediately on point. So sorry I can't remember my waitresses name. Everything we ate was delicious and awesome. I would definitely recommend them as one of the top 3 must try places at VB. Their crab dip is the best at the beach!! I just wish they had pita bread or tortillas with it. Chicken wings were a hit! The salmon was different with the Asian twist. But so good. We also tried the Mahi Mahi! I highly recommend them!

Food was fantastic. We didn't do a full meal since we just left the beach. We had sushi, shumai, crab dip and truffle fries. Everything was really good. Lil pricey but def worth it.

Such delicious food with an amazing view of the ocean. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We had great service and would definitely visit again. The serving were hearty portions and everything was cooked to perfection.

Good food and great location! You do have to find parking or valet. Some people mind this, I do not. Mahi mahs is great for get togethers, anniversary’s, or just lunch or dinner. My favorites are the she crab soup, fried shrimp app (or you can get it Buffalo) and the mahi sandwich or mahi Caesar salad.

The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. I had the potstickers and fish and chips, both were great. I also tried the Mahi Fish Sandwich, Crab Dip, and Tuna Fish Tacos and they were all great too. We will be eating here again!

I apologize I took a bite before I took the pic it was so good! I had grilled mahi with a crab cake and fish mixed in underneath and I ate it all! If you are looking for really good seafood, you will be safe here! It is fancy and more expensive (it's in the Hilton hotel lobby area) but worth the cost if you want a fancy date night.

Nice restaurant. It's right on the boardwalk adjacent to three Hilton hotel. We ordered the sushi. Absolutely delicious! Friendly server. Reasonable price. Had a great time and next time we're in Virginia Beach, we'll go back.

The view was amazing this day. Food was so good. Our server did a great job. Only thing ceiling was leaking and the host thought it was fine to sit us underneath it knowingly. So, I politely asked to be moved.

Mahi Mah's Seafood and Sushi is truly a gem in Virginia Beach and is located in the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton off of Atlantic Avenue. If you are looking for delicious and amazing Sushi, then I highly recommend them. First off, the interior is gorge and you've got the outdoor seating area on the boardwalk with VA beach views. You can't beat that! We had the Mahi Mojito and the Mahi Crush, which were so good. The shrimp in the Coconut Shrimp were huge, very meaty and the appetizer in itself was so good with the pineapple salsa it was garnished with. We did not leave an inch of pineapple in this appetizer's plate. We had the Alaskan and Virginia Beach Rolls. My absolute favorite was the VB roll and I requested they add avocado to it (I looove avocado in/on sushi). The Calamari was OK to me, the Oysters were amazing and very meaty as well. I'd pass on dessert as the Coconut Cheesecake was not that great to me but EVERYTHING ELSE WAS AMAZING! Highly recommend and still giving it 5 stars for the delicious food, setting and service!

Came here to continue celebrating my birthday ...waiter KHALID was FABULOUS! He suggested I try the Mahi Fish and that was wonderful, I have told many about this place ..but the waiters here...add spice to the atmosphere...will go back just for them!! Oh by the way the homemade Key Lime Pie... AWESOME!!!

The food was delicious and the service was even better! We were seated right away when we arrived and had the best view of the boardwalk. For appetizers, I had the she crab soup which was delicious. My date had the oysters Rockefeller and said they were great. For our entres I had the shrimp & chicken Alfredo which was a large size portion. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the mojito which was a little to "minty" for my taste. My date had the sashimi sushi and he enjoyed as well. Overall, this was a great date night experience.

Yummy! We have visited Mahi's during our past two visits to Virginia Beach. The food is pricey, but I think it's worth it - Large portions. Both visits I had their signature Mahi entrée. They change the way they prepare it every few months. SO GOOD! We had sushi for an appetizer, which was also very good. Wait staff was very friendly. Really enjoy their huge selection of beers and ciders on tap.

Awesome! We loved it. Went with friends for last dinner before they left. Extensive menu, with something for everyone. First, the wife loves oysters, so she got a half dozen Hatteras and loved them. Our friends had sushi and seafood pasta. I'm not much on seafood, but had a wedge salad and crabcake. All said their meals were fantastic, as was the service and the entire experience. We'll definitely be back.

Maybe one of my strangest reviews.. I will preface this by saying I make the comments i do based on costs and expectations, weighed against a lot of previous experiences... so read on.. We arrived and made reservations, told we would be notified by text when our table was ready and that worked GREAT. We were told about 45 and had a message in 30~ For me this is where things got a bit strange.. we went in to find people in everything from shorts and flip-flops to suits and evening gowns.. ok... Kinda cool and it's the beach so... No judgement Our waiter was a young lad, obviously inexperienced as a waiter but still enthusiastic.. We stated that we wanted to take our time and enjoy our meal. He was great with taking our app and dinner order; holding our dinner order until our app arrived. One thing I did was order a wine to come with my steak.. more on that later What was strange is the restaurant is EXTREMELY loud, again not particularly odd for a place on the beach. What I personally found odd is this dinner, marketed like it is with top tier foods and beverages will run 60$ to 80$ per person before tip (app, main and drinks).. There was everything from our young, in experienced waiter to older waiters who obviously had been around a while.. but serving in an arguably fine dining setting wearing a baseball cap?! Our waiter had no knowledge of the foods or wines and only default was to suggest the most expensive thing. The apps arrived, the signature crab dip with shrimp was "average". Being from Maryland and knowing good crab dip I would give it 7/10 at best. There really were not great lumps of crab, we often got more of a cheese/broken meat kind of bite. Please don't misunderstand, flavor was definitely there but the quality vs. the price and "signature" dish missed the mark. I ordered the filet with lobster tail, medium with a glass of Banshee Cabernet. My wife ordered the vegetarian Alfredo with a chicken breast added (she wanted Alfredo that night), along with a glass of Pinot. Our dinner arrived and well timed, maybe 10 to 15 after the appetizers which was perfect. They delivered my wife's wine but not mine. My steak came but no steak knife? How much am I paying again? We asked the waiter for my wine and a steak knife, within a few minutes he returned and apologized, delivering both wine and knife. Personally I found the filet a bit overcooked, sauce was great. The lobster was well cooked, presented perfectly. The strange part was the filet was served over what seems to be home fried potatoes.. interesting choice but it worked My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal, wine and the crab dip. Our meal with 2 kids, apps, mains and tip ended up north of 200$.. totally fine for great food. I would definitely recommend this place and hope the management reads the reviews, hopefully putting some time into staff tasting the dishes, learning the wines for God sake...removing baseball caps?! Cheers!

Great Sushi! Good service. Great drinks. Sushi was extremely fresh. Decor was very nice as well. Looks high end and feels it as well, though at least one waiter was wearing a baseball cap and there is no dress code for guests, so it is much more casual then it seems. Great outdoor deck as well.

I went with 2 people, we were told 30 min wait but we waited closer to 50 mins. Once we seated, we were given warm water and had to ask for cold water. Once the food came out, it was amazing. Easily the best calamari I've ever had. The sushi and sashimi were yummy as well.

Very pleased with my shrimp poboy! Very well seasoned shrimp, crispy fried and perfectly balanced with the brioche bread, toppings and sauce. I would definitely order again. My husbands burger looked good but he said it was dry. Also the fries and were very cold for both our meals and we had no way to heat them up. My poboy wasn’t cold but it wasn’t hot either, which was disappointing because we were there when they placed it in the boxes for our to go order so we assumed all the food would be the same temperature, the burger was the only thing that was hot. I’d still eat here again though.

Was very convenient and offered take out. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The shrimp and blackened chicken pasta was loaded with both and was enough for two meals. The Ceasars salad was the best I've had, made in house using buttermilk. The seafood pasta dish was a little disappointing, it was loaded with fresh chunky garlic, however the scallops were cooked perfectly.

We loved this place! The sushi is fresh with a really wide variety, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. We could literally hear the waves crashing in the ocean from our table! We also have gone just for drinks on the outside side bar area. The drinks were delicious as well every time. We will definitely be back.

Mahi's/DoubleTree Hilton and H2O Weddings recently hosted my cousins wedding. I have to say they all were a dream team! The food was amazing, the staff was not just professional but also very warm and welcoming as if we were all a part of their family. The DJ was a blast, the decorations and lighting was beautiful! I would highly recommend!

Ambience is really great inside. Got crab/shrimp dip (it was cold the first time so we had to send it back, even then was just warm not hot), shrimp po boy (good!), and crab cake (average, but my wife is from Maryland, and also not very hot). Also note that the fries are NOT "boardwalk" fries as advertised, just regular standard size skin-on fries. We came on Friday evening so maybe they're having a bad night but I'd try some other places before we came back (too bad, bc the ambience was very enjoyable).

On the pricier range but the amount of food they give you is quite huge. We have enough left over for the next day. Very good calamari and pasta, so-so Asian fusion dish, and meh key lime pie. Service is super good, which makes it a four star. Food is about three.

Mahi's was AWESOME! Al was our server, and he was great. He kept our drinks full, and made sure our food was perfect. I had the salmon, and it was simply superb. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish was GIGANTIC! It was also very tasty. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and just like everything else, it was stupendous. I highly recommend you give Mahi's a try if you're in the VA Beach area!!!

I came in for dinner for one. There was a long wait so I opted for the bar. They were extremely busy but it was a bunch of staff around it though. Either way it took them about 7-10 minutes to clean away the dishes of the last ppl who had sat where I sat. Had to ask a few times for a menu. Glad I'm not a crazy customer because someone less tolerable would have complained. It is a nice spot, if ever in town again I would come on a less busy night to have a better impression of the restaurant. The crab and shrimp dip was oily. Didn't like that but cost too much to waste.

My boyfriend and I came in for a few drinks and a bite to eat yesterday on Valentine's Day. Alex was our bartender and he was awesome! He was very attentive, made us great drinks, and had good conversation. The Crab Dip and Philly Roll were amazing. We shared a lot of laughs together and he started our date-day off great. Above Average Hotel Restaurant. It has a high end vibe in the dining area and a separate bar area for watching the game. Prices are very reasonable for a hotel restaurant and the drinks are reasonable as well. Would give it a 4.3 rating.

Approximately by around 10 hours ago (the purchase receipt reads 218pm on Saturday December 19) my husband, mother in law, and I ordered and enjoyed some food from the Mahi’s seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach(near the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel). Sometime by late October 2020 I had purchased a promotion deal for this restaurant I had heard about listening to the radio and I wanted to utilize the deal before it expired on December 31 of this year. My husband ordered the ribeye meal and greatly enjoyed his ribeye, my mother in law enjoyed her lobster mac and cheese, and I enjoyed the seafood pasta I selected which had shrimp and scallops among some of the food items in the pasta. All three of us also shared a seafood dip appetizer that includes a parmesan cheese and toasted baguette. The server receiving our food orders was cordial.

Well lit, nice ambience- though during these times of COVID19 I did not dine in. Food was good - Fried Shrimp is colossal in size, Crabcakes are also nice in size, Herb rice could've been more flavorful but was decent. Broccolini was good. I would go again to try other menu items. Staff was pleasant and exhibited good customer service for to go orders. Would recommend.

Vanessa is top notch, she has the best energy and made sure we were happy throughout our dinner. Shawn is also amazing (our meal was the absolute best)!! Jumbo shrimp, Buffalo wings, Double cheeseburger, Lobster Macaroni and cheese & Prime Rib were all made to perfection. Restaurant atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful. Can't wait to return.

They're new remodel is so pretty. Daily specials throughout the week. We went on a tuesday where its buy 1 entree get one 1/2 off. We did fish and chips and the lobster grilled cheese. Tuna bites to start off with and a ceasar salad. Every bite was delicious.

I went to Mahi’s with my mom, sister, and grandma. We had a lovely time and the food was delicious! It was a busy Tuesday night, but they sat us right away outside and the waitress was helpful with recommendations on the menu! We got a salad, scallops, California roll, and Volcano roll. Would recommend if you want to eat yummy on the boardwalk!

So first MICHELE! She was a phenomenal server. Up there with some of the best I’ve had. She was quick and friendly and just lovely overall. Also, the sushi and drinks tasted amazing. We brought our dog and sat outside to watch the sunset. Dinner was absolutely phenomenal. We will be making this a permanent part of our Virgina Beach trips.

Service is spotty. Bar tender was not good at her job. Not friendly , did not check on us , or offer refills. I asked for the check and handed me the check with No thank you, no come again, nothing. Place feels very sterile and does feel like it wants to cater to locals. Feels more like a tourist trap.

Great spot on the VA Beach boardwalk. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. I wish I had remembered to get pics of our food but totally forgot to pull out the camera till we were headed out 😞 There is a flounder sandwich on the menu but they were out of flounder and was told it was being substituted with cod. The sandwich was wonderful and HUGE. I thought with Cod it would be a small filet, but the cod was twice the size of the bun! French fries are boardwalk fries and good. Other people at my table ordered the chicken BLT. She loved it and said the chicken breast was cooked perfectly. It was not dry at all. The other two ordered a sushi roll. And both were happy with the freshness and flavors. On to the bathroom: Bathroom was good. It's brightly decorated with individual stalls more like a private room than the shared metal panels. It is a little worn with stains from being older (or just being by the salt ocean air). It was clean and that's what matters most!

Their menu prices are not that bad. The food service was good, but only because the bottom of the burger was cold and the food's flavour was not up to standard, just a bit bland. Other than that, our waitress was always there at the right moment making sure we were ok and made sure we were comfortable. They also do apple pay.

They have a great happy hour from 3 to 7 besides Saturdays. It’s 50% off sushi on Mondays plus a couple non-sushi items. The sushi tasted great, and they have pretty good beer selection. The outdoor area is fairly large which will be great in the summer. Plus the bartenders were super friendly

We ate here every night of our trip. Had the rainbow roll, volcano roll (our favorite), and Florida roll. Also had the garlic fries app and crab cakes. Everything was great, and the outdoor seating and staff were superb. Highly recommend!

Breakfast and coffee early morning on the boardwalk. The staff allowed my elderly father to linger and stay longer than usual customers and they doated on him the entire time. I popped inside to discover a wonderful sushi bar! (A must)

I didn’t know whether to leave a 3 or 4 star review cause my experience was kind of mixed. This is the 2nd night we came here. Last night we tried coming here for the first time and while waiting kept getting skipped over for people who weren’t on the wait list just because they were being a pain in the @ss. Same thing happened tonight was told it would be a 10 min wait and watched the next couple get told the same thing and get seated immediately after they complained. Once again not the hostess fault, who was a lovely young lady, as this is the service industry and you have to please your guest. Also I will admit that I probably don’t know the whole story just that it was aggravating to watch. We got seated outside which was super nice. Live music playing and the calmness of the ocean made outside a great choice. I was in kind of a sour mood due to the seating thing until our server arrived. Our server, a young lady named Michelle, swooped right in with more energy than the energizer bunny. She was absolutely amazing keeping us smiling and entertained through the entire evening. We ordered the potstickers for an app which were really good. For entrees I got the surf and turf. An 8oz kind of bland steak with a very nice lobster tail, under salted green beans, and an absolutely amazing crab potato hash thing. My partner got the lobster grilled cheese which was ridiculously good served with fries and a very yummy tomato bisque. He finished the evening off with what looked like it could’ve been out of a chefs magazine key lime pie which he said was amazing! There seemed to be a problem with the card machine which is 100% NOT the restaurant’s fault and was handled well by our server and the manager. All in all I was happy with the visit and we will visit again. Also our server Michelle deserves extra credit for being an absolutely amazing server with an amazing personality!

While checking in at the DoubleTree Hotel, one of the managers insisted that my wife and I waltz over to Mahi's and partake in their culinary cuisine before we ended our stay there. However, back in the day, Public Enemy advised us all to "Don't Believe The Hype", and for good reason, too. Well, folks, we decided to believe the hype, and this review exists to tell you to also believe the hype. I honestly couldn't remember what I ordered even if you waterboarded me, but my tastebuds, if you were able to ask them, would tell you that the food tasted better to me than I've been to myself. 😀

Mahi's is reliably consistent with above average cuisine and service. Of course the location is excellent. Outdoor dining recommended, weather permitting. Oct 2022 update: interior improvements are very good. The entire restaurant feels brighter and more open. However, at least one dish we ordered has gone downhill quite a bit. The cod in the fish and chips lacked texture and fresh flavor as if it had been frozen and thawed twice.

All I can say is, wow. Hands down the fanciest restaurant I've ever been to, and it's inside of a hotel! The place was nicely decorated, a modern twist on a beach theme. Our waiter was very nice, he came back multiple times to fill our glasses as well as some small talk. We weren't sure what to get, so he did offer some help, and I ended up getting the "Virginia Beach Sushi. Absolutely delicious. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Out of my whole experience here in VA Beach this was by far the best food I have had. It may have been some of the best food I've ever had. The starter came out quick and was great. We ordered the shrimp and chicken Alfredo which was amazing. The sushi was the best sushi I've ever eaten(rainbow roll and red dragon roll). The server(Margaret) was excellent and one of the best servers you could ask for. I will definitely be coming back to Mahi's.

My husband and I were here in VA Beach on our honeymoon and I could not recommend this place more. Everything was fantastic from the cocktails to the dinner. We did two meals here while on vacation, a family (like 24 people) dine in lunch and a dinner take out. There are many places to choose from in VA Beach but hands down this place was the friendliest and had the best food that feeds a family with all types of preferences. The kids devoured the pot stickers (which were excellent and served with roasted veggies), crab dip (with fresh baked bread!), chicken tenders, grilled cheese and pasta. To compliment the kids meals the grownups got probably the best sushi on the strip. Fresh cuts of fish, outstanding presentation, and delicious tasting sushi all around for lunch. Our dinner take out of the chicken BLT (no cheese bacon on the side) was made to order no prob, and the impossible burger was perfect. If you need take out or dine in and can swing the $20 average for adult meals DO IT!

They didn’t accommodate the requested seat for reservation despite it being very open (we requested a seat by the window). Very expensive for basic quality food. Clean but they made changes and it was better before - it feels like it’s almost sterile like a hospital room inside now. They’re clearly short staffed, as most are right now. Took my wife on an impromptu date on a Tuesday night. The weather was perfect for getting out for a stroll and dinner. We found ourselves at Mahi's and I must say I love the atmosphere and decor. Our water Jacob was pleasant and very attentive. We ordered the California rolls as an appetizer. They were delicious and that's coming from someone who doesn't really like Sushi. To drink we went with two of their Slushies. I had the Blueberry and my Wife had the Peach. The liquor was not watered down like most restaurants tend to do, so we were very pleased. We had two of their pasta dishes to eat. My wife had a mac and cheese dish and I had a shrimp and pasta dish. Both were very delicious as well. From seating to exiting the restaurant our experience was wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone out for a cozy date.

We ate lunch at Mahi's, had some soumai and vegetable rolls which were excellent ,because they serve sushi. Star of lunch was the she-crab soup beyond expectations the best she crab soup we have had and we have been coming to Virginia Beach for close to 45 years twice a year to visit relatives. All the other food was wonderful the star of the show however was the server, Travis. He was attentive, personable, and raised with southern manners that he still finding hard to overcome cuz he called me ma'am the entire time. Which I totally loved. If you are down here please think about coming here if it is nice out they have an outdoor deck they have tables in the sun and in the shade and a large dining room and a private dining room. And you should consider having something to eat here. Oh and by the way the boardwalk fries were beyond beyond fabulous. I eat french fries occasionally I make french fries at home, but these have no comparison.

I asked for a long Island tea with some fruit, didn't really care what kind, I just wanted a bit of fruity sweet. They used blueberry, not the best choice for something sweet, but I didn't specify. The renovations are very nice and very European looking. It felt like we are in Greece somewhere. Designer and architect really did a great job. We came in off season so no wait time and no one greeting at the door which is understandable. I loved the idea to divide sushi bar, sitting area and bar itself. Big plus to extended waiting area. The food was excellent and sushi probably the best I had in the tristate area. However the waitress said I have no idea phrase too many times after stating she worked here for 5 years. I have been here 3 times and know the menu better than her. So that was not very up to standard to a nice restaurant like this. Overall we liked it a. But there is always room for improvement!

Went there for lunch today. Waitress was friendly, environment clean and our plates of food looked artistic and plentiful. The problem is that I ordered the flounder sandwich and it did not look like flounder when I cut into it (too thick and meaty) and it did not taste like flounder. Just didn't taste right, so I packed it up and took it home. As my partner is an avid local fisherman of 31 years, I brought it to him. He assured me that it was not flounder. Guessed it was speckled trout. So why did this reputable restaurant not advise me that I would not be eating flounder? I have company coming to town and I won't be taking them there for dinner after this. My friend loved her lunch. I did not share my thoughts with her, but she must have wondered why I was not eating.

We have stoped in here a few times. We have had great experiences. It has been really chilly at night with the strong breeze off the water. We had to wait a little to get a table inside. The staff have been so nice and accommodating for us. We had the crab and shrimp dip appetizer it was amazing. The tacos were really good, the mahi and steak. My husband has the seafood pasta and the fresh pasta was so good with all the large pieces of shrimp and scallop. We ordered the calamari it was good could have been cooked a bit longer to give it more of a crunch but had good flavor.

The food was delicious and our waiter was nice, but the staff throughout the restaurant was distracting and slightly rude. One hostess was walking around the dining room with an electric fly zapper for 20 minutes and the noise was loud and distracting. The other hostesses and wait staff were crowded around the bar eating candy and having loud personal conversations. It was also difficult to get the hostesses attention when we wanted to purchase a t-shirt. Overall the atmosphere was relatively overwhelming and felt unprofessional.

Outstanding! We've been here twice since the new Mahi's opened last month in September 2019. It's an amazing restaurant! The new decor is stunning, the service is top-notch, and the food is absolutely delicious! We had the salmon when we went there for dinner, and it was excellent! Apparently they're down cooks, so they are a little slow right now. However, out experience was great. Our server and the manager communicated with us and were super friendly. Despite the delay in our food, we had a great time. When the food did come, it was delicious.

Wow. I have been coming here to this amazing food for over 20 years. Yes. New remodeling and new ownership but the staff is still here and the chiefs . Same everything. Great service great food great live music during the summer months. Great spot for family dinners and entertainment. Enjoy !

Mahi's is the restaurant inside the Doubletree in Virginia Beach's Oceanfront. Even though it's inside the hotel, it feels like it's own place. The tall windows and patio seating along the sand lets in natural light creating a welcoming atmosphere. Since we're Hilton Honor members, we got free continental breakfast at Mahi's every morning. The staff were always on it, fast and friendly. The breakfast itself wasn't bad. We got to choose: - Coffee or tea - Juice or milk - Fruit, oatmeal or cereal - Toast, muffin or croissant The breakfast isn't amazing, but it's not bad either!

The ambiance is very nice and the wait wasn't long. My food was okay. I had the salmon. I tried a friend's crab dip and it was awesome. Another friend had the scampi. O think it was in a wine sauce, not creamy. It wasn't as soulful as I'm used to but my friend enjoyed it.

Had a basic yet excellent lunch there - clear (onion) soup, grilled snapper, seaweed salad. Fresh and delicious. Nice atmosphere, open with tall ceilings and modern. Will try the sushi next time because my first impression was a good one.Good sushi, but the interior could use some work. Filled with very tacky decorations and no thought of design.

What can I say, besides great service and food. I took a staycation, met a new friend traveling thru and we celebrated her birthday Labor Day. Band was playing and they had all people standing around to sing happy birthday to her which completed her day. This made her so happy. When we were leaving I shouted good night to Sal the bartender. He said goodnight and called my name! What a great place!!

Food was very good. I had the Korean BBQ Burger and it was excellent. The smashed potatoes as a side was a nice alternative to French fries and were also very good. The hostesses did seem to have a lackluster attitude (I saw this on another post too). We had a party of 8 and they told us a 45 minute wait and the restaurant wasn't that full and it shouldn't have been that long. We ended up doing two parties of four and got sat right away. Our server was friendly and the price was about expected for the food choices and oceanfront location. Would definitely recommend this to someone else. The hostesses were not enough to cause a worse rating as the food more than made up for it.

I haven't a single bad thing to say about Mahi's. I visit every single year while at the beach, often more than once. It is by far my favorite restaurant at Virginia Beach. As far as price goes, Mahi's delivers more than the quality you would expect for such a price and the serving sizes are sure to fill even the hungriest of patrons. They have a wide array of alcoholic beverages to choose from, certainly something for every taste. I highly recommend anyone who is a lover of sushi to visit Mahi's and try their specialty rolls. They are flavorful and you get plenty to justify the price. Always look forward to having Mahi's again!!

Crab dip and calamari were delicious. However, thr initial order got lost and the new order took a long while to get. Mahi's special mahi was average, and overloaded with bunch of stuff, so it was hard to taste the actual flavor. Lobster french toast was very salty and not enjoyable. The sushi we ordered never even came. The restaurant seemed to have difficulty preparing and serving food, as it took almost 2 hours for us to get our food. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but at some point it doesn't matter anymore, if the kitchen fails.

Great service, reasonably priced drinks, nice date night ambience, and AMAZING peal and eat shrimp. As a tourist that has never been the Virginia Beach before, I wanted seafood. These were some of the best shrimp I've ever had! They were large and the old bay seasoning was great. The 1/2 lb portion is just enough food too. :) Will definitely be back next time we visit the area!

My wife and I have been to this restaurant a few times, most recently this past week while in town on vacation. The restaurant remodel is amazing and has an upscale vibe. The food, while moderately priced, is worth every penny. I was particularly fond of the crab dip, yellowtail sushi, crab cakes and the key lime pie for dessert. The key lime pie is not your traditional dish with a crust similar to an oatmeal cookie and a caramelized crust, all made in house. We will be back next time we are in Virginia Beach. Thanks!

We went to Mahi’s for a nice dinner. Waiter was attentive and polite. We started with the tuna tower which was absolutely to die for. The house salad with the sesame dressing was very fresh. The She crab soup was tasty. We liked the chunks of crab throughout the soup. Portion was good for a cup. Very rich and creamy. Seafood platter was a good sized portion. We recommend to get it broiled. Coleslaw was the very fresh and still crisp. The bourbon peach drink was tasty. Enough for 4 bourbon glasses. The back patio has a wonderful view of the boardwalk and ocean. We will go back if we are in the area again.

Gorgeous! Best food I’ve had in Virginia Beach. The place has a great vibe. Good energy without the anxiety that comes along with it at some of the places down here at the beach. Something that puts it above the rest in my opinion, is that you can tell they have a totally engaged staff from the top down. These people really seem to love what they do.

Visited for early Christmas 🎁 for the kiddos. I was not in pressed. Shrimp/ crab dip was good but single roll of bread did not equal amount of dip. My daughter loved the dip she could finish her entree. Now for dinner the food was not seasoned very bland and had send back my steak asked for medium well came out a little bloody too much for my liking. They were nice enough to cook more and add salt & pepper lol. Bit overpriced for what you get it is decent but we could went else where I was very excited about eating a steak smh. Broocolini was tasteful I can say. Overall have give a 3 I was being bit generous could easily give them a 2 since I enjoyed the dip, bread and my daughter shrimp 3 will do. We will pass on this when we visit next time.

Good but not great...salmon not cooked as ordered. Husband enjoyed his meal but again, not worth cost. Server offered to get fish cooked more but just a little frustrating to interrupt the meal. Ordered a mojito and the mint was so old it had black areas on it. Really??? Just say you don't have mint! Server was very attentive and he can't control the cook or quality of items used...he may want to go somewhere with more concern about quality. He will do better financially!

We went to eat there last Saturday 03/13/21(after a walk from 1st street to 30th street (neptune statue) hoing back to 1st street). I ordered Tuna(medium well) with Lo mein, cooked with muxed veggies. It was really great! I will order it again nextime. Wife enjoyed her she crab soup, ordered bread and ate with her soup and she loved it. We ordered tuna tacos, it was soft taco i guess or probably more of like nachos with blackened fish for take out. It was surprisingly worth the price and delicious! Service is excellent! Ambiance is great! Its located within double tree hilton hotel.

Went for a Santa Breakfast. Everything was superb. Pastries, Grits, Bacon, Scrabmled eggs, Mini Pancakes, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes with Peppers, and Toast.Coffee was excellent. Really enjoyed the chunky garlic n' chive cream cheese for the everything bagels. Only wished they'd have kept the buffet at a slightly lower temp so it didn't overcook the foods on the bottom of the dishes.

We were at chix which is next door and we're treated SO RUDE BY THE PATIO HOSTESS WE Left and walked over to Mahi this place is Fantastic all of our dishes were Delicious we had a sushi platter the fish was fresh and presentation perfectly posed, I had the signature plate which consisted of Mahi Mahi lobster chunks over a bed of rice and veggies,the others at the table had grilled salmon on a bed of rice with sort of terriyaki sauce which made the salmon stand out Deliciously,a chicken club on a cibatta roll and a hamburger on brioche bread which was a hearty meal for everyone but wait we had a Key Lime Pie that was AMAZING the Best by far from any restaurant I've ever been to.Our server was a fast talker,and server but Great at his job Definitely this is a Must to go restaurant in Virginia Beach

We went last night for happy hour and dinner. The wings were excellent! Later on, we ordered dinner and it was great as well. I got a chicken sandwich which was unique and delicious and my fiancé got a burger which he said was really good. I liked the vibe the place had before the makeover. I've been eating there for years. They have tried to turn it into a more upscale place. It was very noisy. There is not as much room as before. Its ashame they did this. It was the best place to go at the beach before this new make over. But if you like high priced fancy go for it!

I was staying at the DoubleTree so would frequent this spot quite a bit. I went to breakfast pretty much every day I was there. The breakfast was always awesome and a good price as well. The service was phenomenal and they all seemed to take extra pride in their work. Dinner was ok, most of it was good, but I ordered the steak and it was just ok. Considering how much it was I expected more. The other dishes I had were good. I would recommend them if you are staying in Virginia Beach.

I so wanted to give 5 stars, but the cook sent a raw in the center steak. It looked amazing outside. Presentation was perfect. Staff was really good. Place was clean and very nice looking. Food tasted great. Just missed the mark on the filet steak from well done. Then instead of cooking another one he refired the steak and the butter turned to charcoal. My wifes anniversary diner was destroyed. I just Wish they just cooked another Filet mignon so she was happy.

A friend had told of us a special of a 50% off for Sushi on mondays... being a huge fan we had to try it, and 50% off made the deal even sweeter. The sushi was phenomenal. Our sushi chef, Sam was friendly and helpful. But the real star to me, and I have to say, the calamari is a must try, light batter yet fried perfectly, the the peppers were a great touch..and I don't like squid (before this anyways!) The sushi was exquisite, fresh and tender. We paired it with the cucumber saki, it was a great compliment. The ocean view with a full moon only added to the great ambience of the place. After the new remodel, it looks clean and open...The layout screams clean and open with the glossy white marble and while the ocean view is impressive, the design of the interior rooms have thier own draw to the eye. At the beginning and the end of the day, it's the food that brings you in. It's worth the trip. I will say the food plating and presentation was over the top, but actually without being excessive. The plates looked spectacular, but not too busy to draw away from the stars of the meal. It really only added to the enjoynent, over all, as we all agreed the meal was awesome. Honestly, I don't like squid, but I basically stole my wife's bowl of fried calamari. I would have taken a picture, but it dissapeared before I even thought to take a pic. I know what I'm getting next time...the tomato dipping sauce was a great twist on the tired marinara dipping sauce usually served...it really didn't need a sauce, it was just that good. Justin, our server was great. On point with the drinks and water. The other staff were exceptional and friendly. Service was excellent and would highly suggest again. Parking is a bit of a nightmare being the beach, but theres ample parking on the streets around, as well as the parking garage a couple of blocks away. If the weather is nice enough, highly suggest the outside area. Very romantic with the beautiful moon.

On Point! Wow factor! The food, drinks, and service were phenomenal. The waiter answered all of our food and beverage questions, allowing us to taste a sample before deciding. Korean burger with kimchi was zesty and delicious. Smashed fries are delightful. The flounder crab cake was Devine! Melt-in-your mouth delicious. ..tried clams for the first time, and they were amazing! We came here expecting over-priced sea food, but we were presented with top notch cuisine and fair prices. The VB oceanfront location is wonderful! You can see the boardwalk and ocean from most tables. I’ve been when the service and food were excellent, but I’ve also been when they were out of certain dishes (all tuna and oysters), which was disappointing. The music can be overbearing at times also. Great wine selection. There is also outdoor seating, next to a small pavilion where there is often live music being played on the Boardwalk. That makes for a fun evening! Overall it is a good venue, but the inconsistency is why the I reduced the rating. I know it was a Gold Key owned Restaraunt, and has recently changed ownership, so I’m not sure if that’s a contributing factor. It will be interesting to see as the tourist season approaches! Stay tuned!!

Mahi Mah's 2.0. The restaurant has renovated and changed owners claiming the new name by just dropping Mah's and keeping it Mahi's! The place is stunning, absolutely beautifully well done. From the old restaurant-- the Sushi Bar is more prominent and still freaking awesome! I've tried several rolls and delicious. Its located just behind the host stand so you can pass by and see the sushi chefs preparing their masterpieces. The rolls are beyond normal and offering upscale offerings. There isn't a "all you eat option" here but thats ok, each roll is perfect crafted and well done. But most importantly, its fresh, and expertly made. The bar is still present and very large! The drinks are modified and you can still get the old Mahi's crush... though they have redone their crush to be a their own version of the local staple. Also, within the bar, they have their own bar menu, pub eats that are delicious. My favorite is the OLD mah's wings-- large, extra cripsy and super saucy, literally finging licking good! I really like the new french press seasonal drinks that they have added more than my usual old school crush. The outdoor bar is larger and with a designated bar to deliver faster drinks. Also, the outdoor patio connects to all that to watch the live music too and its simply done and still stunning. The new stuff-- reservations!!!! Finally and so happy! The menu is updated and fine dining. I've been several times to try so much of their menu. I love the house made hushpuppies (from the old mah's) with the house made honey butter!! The Mahi's Signature Mahi is one of my favorite dishes ever! I can eat this every time-- other runner ups for me is the crab cakes, jumbo scallops, and seafood pasta. For a little cheaper, try the Mahi's Dip-- delicious!! I also feel that their service is up to the fine dining standard. The newness makes dining here great for date nights, work events, or just a really good dinner and service. Finally, I tried the brunch menu last Sunday and still a pretty good menu. I had prime rib and eggs... I had their fruity pebble waffle as a self made desert with their homemade ice cream. I'm impressed over all and will continue to come back!

I am so disappointed in this restaurant. 1. Service was so slow when we went. What makes it worse was the fact they weren’t busy. The restaurant was about 40% to complicity. The server wasn’t really happy to have our service. 2. Food quality was just average and for the price premium made the quality worse. Because of all the long waits part of the tables food cold. Knowing this going forward I will continue my business with Ocean Eddies which is a couple of blocks away with better quality food and service.

The Sushi at this place is fantastic! Great service, they waited on us patiently until the 11:00 sushi hour (we got there at 10:30). After that it was on for us sushi wise. It was fresh, great, and well worth the $, if you love fresh sushi. Highly recommend for sushi and service.

The food is good and the prices are fair. They have a Beatles decor which is fun for an older crowd. I wish the hours were better in Spring. We stay at the Boardwalk Villas the last week in April every year and would eat here more if only they would open for breakfast or a little later at night.

We went to mahi mahs over happy hour with a party of 6 including 2 children. The happy hour wings were excellent. I was surprised that a seafood joint had wings this good. The mags and pups special was v just OK. The hush puppies were the best I had at the beach. Their mixed drink that came with it on the other hand tasted watered down. My father in law had one of their Crush drinks recommended by the waiter. He loved it. Our waiter was excellent and very knowledgeable about the food and drink offered at this establishment. He added to our dinner with his helpful recommendations and suggestions. My wife and mother in law absolutely loved the crab cakes.

I liked it. We have been dining out at Mahi-Mah's (the old name and previous management) for over 20 years so it was interesting to visit the new place after it has had a chance to settle in. I don't think it is as good as the old iteration, in terms of decor, service, food quality and menu selections (but perhaps there is a bit of nostalgia that colors my opinions here!) and that it is "typical" for what you would expect to find at a Hilton brand hotel - but that is not bad or a criticism as I am a big fan of Hilton and it's various brands. They do a very good job with quality places, good service and great dining choices at their properties. This one is no exception and as others have noted it has attractive decor and the views over the beach are just fabulous. Some of the hiccups noted in other reviews were undoubtedly due to the new hotel ownership and management, but they are determined to offer the best experience possible but this seems to have been resolved as my experience was very good. Mahi's is still one of the premier dining establishments directly on the beach, and their prices are moderate and very competitive when compared to other restaurants in this quality and location bracket. They also make a great effort to keep the place interesting with seasonal events and activities. I generally rate franchise outlets like this as four stars unless they are truly spectacular or truly awful because the brand management has a huge input on quality management at their properties. I recommend Mahi's as a good choice if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Love the location. I always eat outside. Especially when they have music. (All Summer) The drinks are sometimes hard to get there. It is a popular place, no doubt. They didn't serve all the menu items outside when I went, so we stuck with mainly drinks. The draw is the location, which is very nice.

We got a table almost immediately and were seated. It took about 15 min before someone came to the table but when she did, she was polite and apologetic. She brought our drinks and we ordered an appetizer. The appetizer was so good! I then ordered the Dueling Mahi's off of the specials list, but it was rubbery like it was microwaved, gross! The waitress immediately came to the rescue though and offered another dish instead after she inspected it and took the Mahi off the bill. I ordered the Angus burger and it was delicious😊 The Mai Tai's were on point as well! Besides the time it took for the waitress to come and the yucky Mahi, it was pretty good. Next time, we'll come back on a weekday instead of a weekend😉😁

The fish of the day was good but the sides were pretty bad. Dry mashed potatoes. Mac and cheese we got for the kids was (probably) kraft Mac n cheese and still wasn't done right. Crab cake meal was mediocre. Not the best I've had but not the worst either. I did not try the sushi although the reviews for that seem to be good!

My wife and I were walking along the VA Beach and stumbled across a live band playing and tons of people and we knew this was where we needed to be!!! The drinks were just right and worth reordering!!! Since we had never dined there before our waiter gave us some fantastic choices which left us wanting to try more, needless to say we will be patronizing this establishment again in the near future!!! Went there for lunch today. We ordered fish and chips. The fish was deep fried haddock and was very good - the chips were new red potatoes?? Not what we expected at all. We also ordered the steamed jumbo shrimp which was very tasty. The only problem was the shrimp still had all their shells on, which had to be peeled off by hand. Not a dish to order if you're on a date as it gets pretty messy!

The swordfish was great so greatful for Sean who suggested the best way to have it cooked sense I had never had it before. If you like veggies try the brussel sprouts, been beans and greens they are all were very tasty only negative the portion of vegetable that came with the meal was very small under 3oz so I have to order sides to make up for what I normally eat. Also the hostess looked like she really didn't want to be there. I was also a little disappointed that I couldn't eat outside where it was not so loud. I didn't expect the atmosphere to be so sports bar ish.

The new Mahi’s is everything that the old Mahi Mah’s was not. This restaurant has been tastefully remodeled inside & out. A few of my favorite menu items include the sushi and scallops. Oh, and don’t forget about the drink menu which is just as impressive as the food menu. Gorgeous ocean views from pre-much any seat in the house. This is my go-to spot at the Oceanfront!
