This was the 1st place we came when we were in Virginia Beach and it definitely set the standard as far as food in the area. This was also my 1st time eating calamari and I liked it! It's a shame they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays bcuz I definitely would've came back. The drinks were also very good! No complaints here!

Amazing spot for brunch, dishes were delectable and not pricey at all! Plus the brunch drinks are legit $3, this place is a hidden gem. Sweetest waitresses too, gratuity is also built right in. So happy with this find!

I believe the first or second day that we were here for my birthday vacation we tried this restaurant absolutely loved the fresh calamari actually was surprised I got my boyfriend to try it when he doesn't like seafood at all and he even enjoyed it everything about this place was awesome the service was very nice our waiter was very informative and gave us some good places to visit during my stay definitely would have liked to go back to this place they are only open Wednesday through Sunday they are closed Monday and Tuesday

We were recently in virginia beach on a four generation girls trip. It was a busy holiday weekend, most eateries had a wait , but here we were greeted with the friendliest smiles and shown to our seats. The food was absolutely AMAZING and very fairly priced. owners and staff were attentive and genuine. The sangria is absolutely delish, we went back the following night to order it again! As much as i would like to keep this little gem a secret, I highly suggest you check it out!

The food was very delicious. Service was great. There is a 20% gratuity added to all checks regardless of how big your party is. Also they have signs posted that say if you use a card to pay that a 4% fee will also be added. Those were the only things that I did not like. The drinks were good and food was hot and fresh.

This place was amazing, i found it through Tiktok and i am so happy i followed the recommendation. We visited KeyWest in 2019 and loved the vibe this place definitely has the keywest vibe. Lets not forget the food and drinks were delicious! We went on a night where they were doing a bikini contest and the models did not disappoint. Our server was really great. I will definitely be returning for more key west vibes fun!

The calamari was awesome! The 3 different sauces were also awesome. I had the fish tacos. I wasn't a fan of the sauce but the tacos were still really really good. The atmosphere was also nice with live music playing. The service was quick and friendly.

Last time I visited this place I met this nice young man Josh who is a bartender. We talked a bunch about life and the area. He really made my experience at Lunasea one to remember! If you want to have a good time with great drinks and even better people ask for Josh. This is now one of my favorite places to go when I visit the 757 and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Ate here on vaca w friends. They were able to fit us in while every other restaurant had a 20-30 minute wait. Had a weak jamo and ginger was given a free shot afterward to make up for it. Had the Duvall steak sandwich....solid steak cooked well friend had snow crab legs he said they were a five out five. Would have dinner there again for sure.

Their brunch menu is my favorite at the Oceanfront. The stuffed French toast, no matter the variety- strawberry, blueberry, or chocolate hazelnut (shown in picture)- is always perfection and the staff is awesome.

Bar staff and ambiance was amazing, the security staff though could use some skills training. They escalate rather than de-escalate situations, I've observed this more than once with individuals that were licensed to carry so i try to leave before closing time. I can see this going really poorly if not addressed, great place to go as long as you leave before security starts doing silly stuff.

Lunasea is the spot to be on the oceanfront. Great atmosphere and has all you can want. Outdoor and indoor seating, dance floors, cornhole and more. Last time I was there the bartender named Josh made it a night to remember. He is a great people person who can make some excellent drinks. Lunasea is the place to be and Josh is the bartender to see.

Lunasea is my go to spot at the ocean front. Tons of bars to go to so you don’t have to wait in line for drinks, sandpit with live music, and the events are next level. Joe and josh behind the bar are the two you need to see when grabbing a a drink. They’re fast, friendly, and know how to make it a good time. The food is top knotch as well and reasonably priced.

Pretty fun. It's got the atmosphere of a club without the claustrophobia feeling due to being open air. Plenty of space for cornhole and dancing, or lots of areas to just chill in. Only complaint is the kitchen closed really early (like 9pm) and the drinks are somewhat expensive. Still better than the other clubs in the area though.

Stumbled into this place on our (fiancé and I) bar hop down the strip. Marina was the best bar tender we had thus far. I’d highly recommend going in and sitting at the bar. She was attentive, made wonderful cocktails, randomly selected shots based on our tastes. Wonderful server, 10/10 recommend based on HER service!

The waitress was nice, the drinks were fairly good also; the food was good. The pork taco was a bit bland. The calamari could have been fried a little longer for more of a golden color to the batter. I would have loved to have tried the crab dip but the pita was fried earlier, before opening, and I was there around 10pm. Tequila shots that we did get were a little pricey but thats because we opted to not get the $20 patron shots (that ridiculous). Dinner was ok... I had a nice time there but I'm not sure if I would go back or recommend this place.

I only ever go at night. Prices keeps fluctuating and the inside it SUPER hot, overheat on the dance floor easily. Other than those, everything else was pretty decent, drinks was well made, employees were nice.

Beautiful place to come and hang out, great atmosphere and very clean. The staff are all great including security and the bartenders. The pool party was a lot of fun and we had a fun time hanging out here. Plenty of seating and plenty of different accessible bars around the place. Easy walk from other hotels and shops! Make sure you’re 21 and older as they always check ID’s!

Has the greatest potential, but just doesn't seem to make it... Maybe more events would help hype the venue. There were less than 10 ppl there when we visited. Left a packed venue (that was 'just a bar') to go here because it's layout is awesome, but a crowd definitely sells a night life and this place felt empty. I have visited during events and it was awesome 😊 Will give it more chances.

Really beautiful and fun place to hang out. Live music and private events even. Multiple bars inside and out to choose from. Lots of fun and games. SUPER EXPENSIVE AND OVERPRICED DRINKS!!!!!!!! (Literally was there last night (7/16/2021) and was curious because of $20 drinks on my receipt.... FML) Id go back....and order cranberry juice. And water. Then drink at home with all the money I saved from spending it at the ABC store instead. Then we can wake up and get breakfast...or whatever.

Super cute! Went for brunch. Food was great as well but the menu is limited from what is shown online. I had the stuffed raspberry frent toast with bacon and my guy had the breakfast burrito with hashbrowns. Both were very good. The passionfruit mimosa was delicious! I do recommend this place.

We went for their outdoor experience in the back. It is beautiful outside. There's an upstairs and downstairs bar. A DJ and so much more. Would love to go over a weekend. We went during a weekday evening and it wasn't too busy.

Positive: the food, drinks and setting was amazing, the prices was very reasonable and affordable. I did like the back area for socialize fun like drinks with corn whole. I appreciate for them letting me try a drink, which was very watery and they let me have another with no charge. Negative: The entrance was not very welcoming coming in, when I came in with my family and kid, the employees ignored us. I walked in the back area for the amount of people we had for the tables, we seated ourself and I had to get the bartender attention to get services. The waitress finally show up and apologize for the experience.

Have been there back in 2009 and just recently in 2019 with my kids for the Easter egg hunt they held there. Great job! Good drinks and food. Seating was a little tight, got sat at a 4 for high booth with a toddler, so that ended poorly. But the staff was cool and engaging and the outdoor seating in the courtyard is what sets this place apart. Night scene there is usually always busy.

The food was spot on! When we arrived it was on a Sunday, and the occupancy level was low. That being said the food arrived fast and fresh. Seating is minimal but that didn't bother my family of 4 at the time because of the low occupancy level.

Went here for silent disco night and was not let down. Big establishment with lots of bars to choose from. I stayed upstairs in the club area. We all had our own headphones for music, $5 a piece, and jammed out in our own way. Not as crowded as surrounding clubs and nobody tried dancing up on you like at younger or other clubs. Awesome place for dancing and good drinks too.

We recently held our wedding reception at Lunasea. We chose Lunasea after researching on the internet and reviewing places in Virginia Beach. After making an initial visit, we met with Matt who helped us plan, organize and host our event. Our wedding in Virginia Beach was a destination wedding, so distant communication was crucial. We cannot say how exceptional happy we were with the reception. We wanted a non-formal place with the Key West atmosphere which is exactly what we got. Our wedding guest numbers we smaller than traditional weddings and they accommodated us very well. The food was absolutely outstanding and our guests shared with us that it was the best food they have ever tasted! Lunasea went above and beyond to make our day so special. We cannot thank them enough. We also could not have done it without their amazing staff, friendly atmosphere and the manager Matt!! We would absolutely recommend this place for events or just to sit down and eat. Their staff is amazingly customer friendly and the service is outstanding!! Thank you Lunasea, From Wisconsin

We went here as part of Restaurant Week and enjoyed a 3 course meal at one of the sidewalk tables. The food was good and service was also. However, a group of 3 mildly foul-mouthed women and the loud occasional vehicles made conversation a bit difficult. The problem is, we're talking about February, no telling what it might be like in July when the Summer folk are back. If you don't mind competing, I'd say, go here. The food was worth it.

We happened upon this gem on our last day in VA Beach. I must say that I am regretting the fact that we didn't find this place sooner because we would have eaten at Lunasea every day, perhaps. We were drawn to this place from across the street as the front patio was packed with patrons enjoying their brunch. As we browsed through the menu, a nice gentleman eating his brunch offered an unsolicited recommendation, "You won't find better food anywhere." Sure enough the food was amazing and the service, even better. Josh, our server, was kind, accommodating, and beaming with personality. During our meal, we were visited by an older gentleman who we assumed to be the proprietor of the place and he seemed to genuinely care for our dining experience. His name may have been Griffin but my memory slips me. The brunch menu was surprisingly affordable considering the quality of our brunch. The brunch cocktail pricing was unbelievable and the bartender definitely believes in drinks with a kick! Try their Huevos Rancheros and Avo-BLT Open Sandwich. We will definitely be returning to Lunasea next time we are back in VA Beach!

Mornings it's a small restaurant, don't know what kind of food they doing. I was there when the moon comes out, and all youth want get drunk. A lot of people. Security every where. They charge 5$ for enter, but only guys, girls have free enter. Inside are 5 bars. Drinks are really cheap and strong. The place is really huge. They don't serve food when it's night. Why 4☆? They have some stupid rules, and line for entering always long.

Cool concept with a sand dance floor & game area. Multiple bars, so the wait for drinks wasn't bad. Upstairs area has seating and overlooks the dance floor. A few less cornhole boards would have made for bigger dance floor.

This place was amazing. Service was great. I ordered the mojo pork tacos and they were great. Flavor was wonderful. My husband ordered the burrito it was also amazing. Joe was awesome. Hes very personable and makes it worth your while to visit.

The atmosphere us super calming. They music level was at a decent volume. Our waitress was nice, but super chatty. She kinda just stood there continuing to talk which is okay! But a little much.. The drinks kinda suck. They tasted watered down. We had a total of 4 different drinks and they all were flavorless. (Two margaritas, daquiri, and the mr banana pants). And all tasted like watered down liquor with a splash of watered down flavoring. Not worth the bar. However! We ordered the taco plate and the appetizers nachos. The nachos!!! WERE OUTSTANDING! Bravo kitchen! Seriously, the plate was huge. The meat was seasoned very well, the sour cream? Was so good for some reason. It was a totally different texture than most places serve. But amazing! The Pico was good. And the quacamole!!! Literally fingerlicking good. The tacos were also very good. Chicken was tasty, tortialls were good. So overall, it will be a place we go often just not for the bar!

It was fun...and relaxing. They have Corn Hole. Food was good. If you wish to sit upstairs and listen to the band..be ready to climb several stairs. There is no parking out front or back. You must use a city lot which is 2 blocks away.

My SO and I visited for Virginia Beach restaurant week- dinner. We arrived later in the evening and we were IDd upon entry. The bar was busy, we got a table near the back. It seemed that the upstairs area (club) was more interesting than the dining area and my SO happily informed me that there's a stripper pole upstairs. I ordered a lava something or other to drink- Pina colada and strawberry. It was delicious, but probably a bit light on the liquor. Our appetizers were just okay- calamari which was a bit over cooked (with three yummy dipping sauces) and crab dip. There was a good amount of dip, much more than enough for the two of us. For dinner I had shrimp fajitas, lackluster but tasted fine. SO had the steak which was tough, and the A1 sauce was necessary. Fries were good! For desert I had a lava cake which seemed like it had been frozen at some point, SO had a brownie sundae that smelled wonderful. The music selection from upstairs was the best part of the evening. I'm glad we paid restaurant week prices- I wouldn't go back for the food

Super crushes on like all the skilled and charming bartenders here haha! I’ve been here on some crazy nights but I’ve always been able to reach the counter to get a drink super quick and well made. If you like bar hopping this is probably going to be your last stop because it’s so fun and open and pretty. My favorite even so far was the Harry Potter Halloween party!! The decorations were magical and so well done! I came as a ravenclaw student and had a blast! Security here is pretty tight, I haven’t had any issues but I’ve seen and had some friends get kicked out for dancing on the poles and for being overall really obnoxious haha. The ultimate beach bar with some wild good nachos!

This is the place to be on a Friday when the weather is good. I was here on a saturday back in April and it was underwhelming. I came back in september and it was like night and day. Although its about 1/3 military crowd, it is still a lot of fun. Drinks are fairly priced for a place with space and a DJ. Definitely check this place out if you find yourself in the area.

Night Life: This place was amazing! Once you see the outdoor area with a fake beach-type setup in the middle and two tiers of hangout spots I think you'll be sold. The inside is a great time too, but don't try to be a guy on the pole...It doesn't work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pretty nice place when it's not as packed, security is stupid though, they don't actually take the time to think about and assess the situation that just happened. They just act without thinking. Ruined my buddies birthday night because he turned around and had elbowed someone, and said watch out man.. well security walked over and said let's go and kicked him out.. didn't even know what happened.. they never got the other guy either.

Have always loved lunasea. From a crazy crush night out to a brunch the next day they have it all. The setting is unique, the staff is friendly (my husband lost his wallet during a late night there once and they worked to find him and get it back to him) and the food is good. Love this place! But do have a few things I hope they change. First off this is hands down my favorite bar/club to go to both during the busy season and not so busy time of the year. They have a bar literally anywhere you plan to go into/outside the club, there's 2 bars downstairs inside the club and 1 bar where the DJ and dance floor is at and each 1 bar on both levels of the outside deck! So no matter where you go you have a bar and drinks at an arms reach. The music is always good and the Energy is always hype! They have corn hole outside in a large sandpit which is always fun and convenient (if you can find a open cornhole board) and they have a 2 story outside deck with plenty of seating. The drinks are priced the same as anywhere else but the service is fast. The only negative things I could ever say about this place is that the security is a little to uptight and rude and pushy at times it's almost like they are just waiting for reason to confront somebody for something. Another thing is the $5 cover charge for guys to get in, to me it's a bad business move, I get you wanna make money and all but to charge me $5 (cash only by the way) is a little ridiculous and very unconvenient seeings how most people don't like to carry cash on them these days, at least if you HAVE to charge me to come spend money at your business at least accept cards instead of people loseing their place in line to go find a ATM and then get charged the ATM service fee. But honestly it's best to just do away with the cover charge completely because im literally coming here to spend money, I shouldn't have to spend money just to come in and spend more money. One more thing is the dress code...the fact that you guys even have a dress code is kind of ridiculous to me seeings how people are literally in there in board shorts and tank tops (as they should be because it's the beach!!) a surfer style club/bar like this shouldn't even have the right to be able to inforce a dress code at all! But apparently joggers are a serious no go here, makes no sense to me to be turned down and for you to lose money/business because of joggers Lol. Other then those few things that rub me the wrong way, I love this place and I love what you guys are doing! The theme,the style and atmosphere is awesome. Food is pretty good as well. Definitely the first place I recommend for out of towners or anybody that's looking for a night out.

Welp! I found our new spot for VA Beach! The sand box/dance floor/corn hole range is brilliant. They have swinging chairs on one side of it on the 1st level! The 2nd level overlooks the main level along the parameter of the sand box and there's an additional bar and dance floor. Music was fun! Very diverse crowd! Apparently this place serves food too! Staff is friendly! We will be coming again!

My friends and I always have a blast here. This place is definitely the "go to" bar at the beach. It has an outdoor cornhole section with seating and a bar. Its two levels with bars upstairs and downstairs. Djs outside and inside. Sometimes live bands play too. I use to come here all the time but its been over a year. Our server, Cam, was super friendly and was what sold us on having dinner here as he reached out to us as we were walking pass on the way to the establishment next door. I had the Duvall Steak Sandwich, my wife the Chicken Fajitas. Both were we're really good and plentiful. The Fried Calamari app that we started with was fried a little hard but nothing to complain about. Because Lunasea has a very limited menu, it took us a while to decide what to eat. It is for this reason that, although we were left with a good impression, we would probably not return.

Always a fun time, drinks are relatively cheaper than the other bars in the area, about 3 areas with different music to them. Like most other places in virginia the dancefloor is pretty small, but bigger than the ones in surrounding bars. Passageways are very narrow.

I was trying to find the Repeal Burger place and walked right by it since it isn't well signed (maybe that is their shtick). So instead, I see LunaSea all kinds of lit up with a hostess that was righteous on bringing in the guests. I ordered some conch fritters (waaaay better than the stuff I have eaten much farther to the south) that had chopped (rather than whole) conch. That is the key. The dipping sauce was the perfectly balanced amount of sweet and spicy. I had fish tacos for my meal. Ditto on the tasty factor. I would hands down recommend this spot if the lines are too long elsewhere, you are digging some tasty bites without the artificial mark-up or you are simply curious how a joint called LunaSea can be putting out food this ridiculously good.
