I have seen this restaurant for years and never came in until this past Sunday. We were celebrating one of our church family birthdays. The service was over the top great. Very helpful. My sister had to leave early to go to work ,so she wasn't going to order. The server said I can take care of that. She took our orders ran my sister's to the back and out came a perfectly cooked bacon cheese burger with the best fries ever. The side salad was one of the freshest that I have had with homemade ranch. I ordered the delmonico steak with shrimp and a side of spaghetti. Steak cooked and tasted perfect. The spaghetti 🍝 was very good. Will I be back yes!

Great little spot with stellar deals and great service. If I had to describe this place in one word, it would be "American". This place offers all kinds of food options, all at reasonable prices, a great spot for a family dinner. If you are in the area and looking for something new, I recommend this place. Hopefully this place will live for generations.

Passed by this place for years, finally ate here. Great food, enjoyed their soup, steak burger, and fries. Was busy during lunch, so parking lot was full. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommend to family and friends!

First time eating here. Ordered the veal parm and the combo appetizer. The salad that came with the meal was a little underwhelming as it came with no kind of shaved carrots or cheese just a couple slices of tomato and onion along with lettuce. - I know small side salad with meal. But the Italian vinaigrette dressing was zesty and tasty. The combo appetizer, which was fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and some chicken tenders was really good. The Veal Parm was actually really delicious. I don't know if the sauce is homemade but it does have that taste. And the waitress was super kind, answered all my questions, and never let my drink run dry. Definitely recommend and I hope to be back.

Awesome food, service and environment. We had prime rib and a seafood platter. We also had homemade crab balls and clam chowder. Everything was made very well and came hot. Chris, our server was kind and efficient. We had our bread, butter and drinks immediately along with anything we asked for. We have to say that he was one of the best we have ever had. The environment was clean and quiet enough to talk.The prices were very reasonable as well. We would recommend this place to anyone. Not a pizza joint and family friendly.

We happened along to find this place. Not the fanciest of outside but don't let that stop you from trying it out... the staff was polite, kind and helpful. The food was delicious. I had the marinated steak, salad, and French fries... such a wonderful portion and flavor. Definitely a place I'd recommend and revisit.

Delicious food, from the fresh salads, to the entree's. Big portion sizes so plan to get full or be taking home some dinner. Which to me there's nothing wrong with. A great atmosphere kind friendly staff food was quick nice and hot. My grandmother was visiting town. In her old age she can't get around much more. But let me tell you she enjoys a good bite. And let's say she Enjoyed her bite enough to say we're going back this weekend for dinner. 😂 Keep it up guys at G + G .

The waiter was very attentive & efficient. The variety n food is really extraordinary as the hamburgers has so many variations. Only drawback is there's no vegetarian option for burgers. The salads are delicious and a wide range of liquor to choose from.

I am so disappointed... In myself! We have lived in the area for damn near 20 years and always say "We should try that sometime.". Well today was "sometime" and we really enjoyed our experience. It reminded me of the old school restaurants from before the Mega chains killed the Blue collar American dining experience. Experienced staff that made you feel welcome and not rushed, we even had a conversation regarding the cultural differences between New England Clam Chowder and Manhattan Clam Chowder before expanding into Hatteras Clam Chowder. The food was good quality and fairly priced. The steak was great! Not "fancy", they just let the steak be a steak. No Special seasoning, no Compound butter, just good quality beef! I wasn't even offered Steak sauce because they knew it didn't need it. We'll be back!

First off…. I need a wheelbarrow….lol. Nice and quiet place. Wait staff was on point. My glass never emptied. Wait time was minimum on my order. As you see from my serving platter you get plenty of food. The flavor reminded me of grandma’s cooking. I ordered the Spaghetti Combination, it comes with pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and meat sauce. I added raw onion for flavor (done this since I was a kid). Price is reasonable. Bring the family for some good old cooking.

The waitress Celeste is awesome. The food is amazing! And all of the staff including the owner Perry are very nice and accommodating. I love everything that I've had. Salads, steak, fish, hamburger steak and sandwiches. And spaghetti is great too.

I have been delivering magazines to this spot for a couple years now. Every month I go in and switch the books in the foyer. The smell, the atmosphere, just the entire vibe invites you in to enjoy a meal. I was never hungry by this stop on my route because it’s towards the end. I love to eat. I stop earlier in the route. The stars were aligned right eventually though and I finally got to try it. I was impressed by everything. I started simple, and with future trips will try more and more of the menu. Spaghetti was very good, not my Italian family recipe but very good for restaurant. The soup was outstanding to say the least. The steak was way better than expected. I got the hamburger steak, or fried steak forget what it was called. It was CHEAP and I deemed it worth the starting point of my exploration of the menu. Will be back.

The staff was awesome and always filling my drink. I ordered the Fried Seafood Sampler. Everything was cooked very well and tasted great. Just look at the size of that fish. I had she-crab soup as my first and it was very tasty. My side was Spaghetti. It was cooked perfectly and not watery. The sauce was a homemade may sauce that was awesome. For dessert I had coconut cream and meringue pie, yum. I will be back. Thank you.

Went to Gus & George’s for the first time last night. Wow it was not what I expected! I thought it would be something like a Spaghetti Warehouse, but boy was I wrong(in a good way). It’s a down to earth, home cooking, a lot of food for a good price. Our waitress Susan, was very friendly and attentive! We ordered Wine and Calamari to start. It was fresh and fried perfect. The Eggplant Parmigiana was very good. The Spaghetti Sauce was a little plain but was a meat sauce. The Veal Parmigiana was disappointing. Normally I ask if it’s a filet or a patty before I order from some places, but since they had steaks I did not ask. Well it was a patty. Like I said earlier home cooking, my Wonderful Mother also bought Veal patties. She said Veal was to expensive and to easy to cook wrong lol😂. We wondered why the Eggplant was more than the Veal 🤣🤣🤣 The Lemon Cello Cake 🍰 was the star of the night. The 4 stars could be for that alone. Over all still and good time and a good meal. We will be going back for the Steaks and Burgers. 🍔🍔🍔

It was our first time here and we really enjoyed our steaks, especially the marinated Romenian steak. It was super juicy & tender! In my country we call it "Churrasco" it is the best piece of meat you can eat The service was great our server was very polite and attentive we will definitely come back ✌️

Ordered the crab balls, really scrumptious. Also had the chicken kabob, cooked to perfection with Loaded bake potato. Bread and cracker basket is complementary with every meal. Staff is courteous and well mannered, ready to serve. I've eaten here several times and have no complaints.

Been here all my life and have passed this place a billion times and never been. Same owners and menu that was at the old Virginia Steakhouse that used to be on First Colonial Road...brought back many fond memories of dinners with family who are no longer with us. Food was great and service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back.

I got the grilled chicken sandwich with Mayo and lettuce and fries. Let me tell you, it was amazing. My car was getting serviced at Tire Discounters and I decided to pop in. The women that works in the front was really sweet and you can tell this is an Italian family owned restaurant. I enjoyed my experience here.

Always a great experience here! Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Their menu has so much to offer, they have steaks, seafood, and pastas. I've had the fried seafood platter, the marinated Romenian steak, lasagna, and the manicotti from here. All have been phenomenal. Everything is homemade and the portions are generous. I love the french fries too!

It saddens me to only give three stars. Our waitress was so nice, prompt, and helpful. Our salads and the calamari appetizers were great, as were our deserts. However, we chose it for the steaks and were sorely disappointed. My husband and I ordered the Delmonico medium rare. It came out medium well in parts an medium in others. That would have been bearable, but there was absolutely no seasoning, not even salt and pepper. My father ordered prime rib. He ordered it medium (which I know is not the best idea), but it came out like shoe leather. It was also not seasoned and the au jus it came in was unflavored beef broth. He only ate a few bites and for the last 70 years he has eaten his steaks well done, so the extent of the cooking would not have even been the problem. It was just that bland. The clientele were mostly elderly so I wonder if they prepare items for those with a more sensitive, or perhaps less discriminating, palate. Perhaps the Italian and Greek dishes were better.

Great coffee. Great service. Food was just ok. The fried oysters are small, and the seafood platter had the same drawbacks as last year: the crab cake and the fried flounder were overdone and tasteless. The baked potatoe didn't come with butter, and my friends steak was overdone but still had flavor. If the service and atmosphere weren't as good as they were, I would have only given them 3 stars.

Service was great. Waitress frequently stopped by the table for refills. I ordered the gyro and fries. Food came out pretty quickly and you could tell it was very fresh. The fries have a unique style and the gyro pita and veggies were fresh. Stopped by for a bite while my truck was being serviced at Discount tire and I was pleasantly surprised by the meal as a whole.

Decided to finally try this place and so happy I did. The place was super clean. Our waitress could not have been any nicer. They were all very friendly and efficient. The food, homemade Manhattan clam chowder, absolutely delicious. My son had a Greek burger, made with fresh ground beef, not frozen pre made burgers. He also said his fries were the best. Grandsons had pizza, which they ate every bite. I also had the antipasto salad, which was amazing and huge. Price was extremely affordable for all of us. Can’t wait to go back again and when I do I will try some homemade baklava!

Food is wonderful, nice family atmosphere. The wait staff could be a lil more friendly and take time to listen rather walking away, but the drinks were filled promptly. The desserts are under portioned compared to other restaurants. My picky eater loves the marinara sauce and my other child raves over the calamari.

Went for lunch with my Mom and brother. They have been going there for quite a while...they love going there.🙂 Meatloaf on Wednesdays is SO good. They give you a heaping helping of meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy! Oh boy, good stuff. Betsy was our waitress. She was wonderful. Friendly and pleasantly attentive. I love going there now too! 😁 Oh, the sweet tea is mighty fine too.

Gus & George’s is the epitome of classic American family restaurants. It’s no frills, it’s bad lighting, it’s mediocre but delicious food, it’s bread baskets with packaged butter (or margarine if you’d like). It’s nostalgia. I miss the old interior with the dark wood. Get a booth by the windows if you can (the lighting is far superior). Their Delmonico steak with fries and their greeek salads are not to be trifled with. One of my favorite Virginia beach restaurants.

My husband and I were on little vacation and I wanted seafood that wasn't expensive. So we decided to try this mom and pop restaurant and the food was delicious!! We didn't know what to have for dinner. Four thirty on a Saturday night. The menu is expansive with American and Mediterranean dishes. Sort of a limited bar. It's 1975 and the music says it all in the large dinning rooms. Staff was super nice and the food came out hot! Fried oysters Manhattan clam chowder shrimp cocktail cold beer. All perfect. She had burger and fries, loved it. Desert was also great lemon cello cake was yummy and the homemade baklava was fought over by everyone. We'll be there again soon.

Nice diner with what appeared to be a locals attitude. Food was OK not good enough to justify the drive back. Spaghetti was not to my taste. The sauce was watered down and had no taste to add to the spaghetti. Large plate and only two meatballs. Vegetables were bland. Garlic bread was just toasted white bread with a little garlic butter on it. My wifes Delmonico steak was a thin steak that was not what I consider a Delmonico. Taste was OK. Service was good. Menu was very broad and maybe that is why they didn't have quality in our selections.

My parents started going here in the 80's and me and my mom still go to this day. I remember as a little girl (i just turned 40 this year) standing by the warm fireplace and all the Original decor before they updated inside. The owners have always been the most amazingly sweet people. The son runs it now but you will catch mom in there from time to time and i love when she comes over to chat with us and Reminisce about how my parents used to bring me in a baby carrier and how cute i was lol its just those little things that big box stores and restaurants will never know anything about. Definitely recommend this place. Food is great and mom home made BaklavaI is always so perfect.

Celebrated my father in laws birthday there with friends and family. Our server was so helpful while we were decorating and kept stopping by to see if there was anything we needed. He was super attentive and as guests arrived he brought out drinks and asked again if there was anything we needed. After everyone arrived we ordered and the food was phenomenal!!! I go to this restaurant 3-4 times a month. The steak is ALWAYS cooked just the way I order it (and seasoned great). The spaghetti sauce is so delicious. The salads are plain, but come promptly and the soup is always hot and hearty. The food is not gourmet, but good family cooking in portions you expect at home. The owner and staff are friendly and accommodating, and since they have known my daughter since she was born, they always make her feel big and special. She is very picky but always eats at Gus and Georges! If I could change anything at all, it would be the decor. The place is very outdated (Fair), but very clean and the seating is comfortable and layout convenient. The prices are just right and service quick. A great place to go if you want satisfying food without the wait.

We ordered takeout last Friday. It was the best takeout meal we've eaten since the stay at home order. The food was hot, the portions the same as we receive when dining in and they even included a bag of crackers and butter that you would have received in the basket at the table when dining in. They spared no deal, even down to including salt and pepper packets and plastic ware. We eat at this restaurant fairly regularly, but will do so more often and I have spread the word of our experience in hopes that more will support this gem of a local business. This is a prime example of local business at its finest! Thank you!

A local spot that never fails to deliver. I've been coming here since I was younger than I can remember, never had a bad meal. Service staff is always really friendly and attentive which is a huge plus! I'd recommend any of the spaghetti stuff, especially the meatballs since they make the sauce and meatballs in house; as well as their Greek hamburger steaks. Altogether can't recommend this place enough, would come everyday if I could.

But, I had the fried seafood platter (shrimp, oysters, scallops, crabcake & flounder, but subbed scallops for oysters), and everything was good except the shrimp were kind of tough. Otherwise, I would've given them 5 stars. Their blueberry bread pudding was really delicious!

I've been going here since I was a baby in the 70s. It was a family tradition. Now my kids love going as well. My daughter says their spaghetti is the best in the world! It is pretty amazing! Fast service, great food, great prices! What else can you ask for?

Meh. My salad was very very basic. I had the flounder, and the fish itself was good but the tartar sauce seems strange. It was kind of odd orange color, and had a weird taste to it. This seem like a tourist place where the prices are high and the food quality is mediocre. I would recommend trying it again but the prices are pretty high so I think I'll just skip

My wife and I have been eating at Gus and George's Steak and Spaghetti Restaurant several times each week for 34 years, and during those years, have spent more than $170,000 for food there. Everything we get there is delicious, well prepared, and most of all, consistent. Their prices are reasonable. Our son and grandchildren always go to Gus and George's when they visit us here. Overall it is just a good place to eat.

We always went with our dad. And we always got the Romanian steak green salad baked potato or string fries and amazing bread. This is so good. Even my sister who never eats will finish her meal. How cool is that!?! It had vintage service, meaning like it's supposed to be and takes you back to what a restaurant should be, concentrate on the food not gimmicks. Love this place.

G&G is a throwback to the 1960 restaurants i remember as a kid. I was impressed with the crisp clean dining area. The place was 90% filled and everybody looked to be having a good time. The family that owns it is wonderful and almost all of the food is fresh and homemade. Deffinatley worth the price for the portion sizes you get. Amazing place to get a steak. Things i recommend: Romanian steak, Delmonico steak, chicken teriyaki, eggplant Parmesan ( literally the best eggplant parm ive had anywhere) those shoestring FRIES!, grilled chicken salad or chicken kabobs, fried flounder, baked spaghetti with meatballs and extra sauce. hamburger steak with cheese mushrooms onions and gravy & Liver and onions with bacon! the ranch and house dressing for salads is the best they have some great feta cheese ( you can get a side of it which is 3 slices!) they alternate their dessert but they have authentic made baklava, and the chocolate mousee cheesecake is my favorite along with any of the meringue pies. they have beer wine and liquor!

This restaurant has nice staff, but the food was just okay. My father and uncle truly loved their veal parmesan, but the girls did not like their house dressing at all. My eggplant parmesan with meat sauce was luke warm at best. The salads could have used something more than just tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and dressing. Some croutons, cheese, cucumber, would have been nice. The lemon meringue was very good.

Had the fried seafood platter. Oysters were fairly good, shrimp and scallops were not bad. Crab cake was pretty bready, and fish was tasteless (tilapia?). Coleslaw was very good, as was the in-house made viniagrette for the salad. Service was very, very good for our party of ten+ people each with a separate check. I suspect I would have been ten times happier with one of the Italian dishes, and will, in fact, go that route next time based on my companions' feedback.
