Really good food. Great atmosphere. There is a live show right next to the restaurant, so it’s really nice to sit on the patio. Service was good too. My friend asked for a rare tuna steak and she got it well done. Our server immediately proposed to bring her a new one and it was perfect.

**Deceiving Restaurant** The outside of this place had me questioning my choice to eat here. It looked almost like a small garage to me. But when we walked in it was like a whole new world. It was bright, huge and the environment was so laid back. I ordered the " just seafood" and they meant that $h!t. I was disappointed in the portion size. But it was really really good! All that dish needs is some Alfredo noodles and it would be perfect. I also ordered a seafood boil which was fresh and delicious. My husband had the wings and they were tender and crispy just sooo good. I think they grill them it has a grill flavor. We got some to go. He also got a burger which he said was juicy and cooked well. We also got the surf and turf tacos and was fighting over them. My daughter got the mac and cheese and raved about it. The drinks were good and STRONG. This is definitely a place we will continue visiting when in the area.

Visited this restaurant for an early weekday dinner. It wasn't very busy but you could tell there were plenty of locals who hangout there. The restaurant was clean but even though it wasn't busy there was a line for the ladies room. The restroom was clean and well stocked. The restaurant has a nice vibe and great decor. There is plenty of inside and outside seating options. My guest and I opted for salads which can be hit or miss at restaurants. My salad was fresh but would have been better served on a chilled plate. While our server was nice and polite, I did feel service was a touch slow for things like refills etc. Otherwise it's a great little place and I would definitely return!

Nice location on the Boardwalk. Live music the night we were there. Nice crowd but no wait. We sat on the outside enclosed patio & it was great. They also have outdoor seating & indoor seating. Service was good & food was good. Next time in Virginia Beach, we will be back again.

Beginning to end we had great service and delicious food. From the Hummus Platter to the Shrimp Steamer Bag and Cobb Salad, Chix delivered! The location cannot be beat, it even appeared the wind died down while we dined so, sand would not be a part of our meal. Our waitress was very attentive and courteous. I saw several plates pass by that I want to try on my next visit.

Chix is alright but I don't get the high reviews. Calamari was more batter than squid. Seafood was bland as well as the mashed potatoes. Fries were cold when served as well as the hush puppies. Drinks weren't very good. Waitress we had was kind of rude and abrasive when we had questions. Steep prices for the quality of food. Lucky Oyster is far better than Chix and it costs much less than this place.

Stopped for a couple of drinks to check out the menu. Very nice looking selection of items. Sticker shock came with bill $24 for 4 beers. Will be there for dinner tomorrow night but we won’t be drinking. One restaurant around Virginia Beach has a sign saying “ Beer is cheaper than gas so drink more and drive less” obviously this is not that restaurant. Stopped for dinner, our server Victoria was phenomenal. The Lobster dinner was delicious. The Carolina pulled pork sandwich was okay. A band started playing on the Boardwalk around 8 right in front of the restaurant.

A friend suggested we check out this restaurant while in the area, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything from the food to the service was. Our waitress was Hailey, and she was amazing. She was very attentive and probably one of the best waitresses have had. The food was to die for. Even the picky kids were pleased.

Amazing location on the beach with live music outside. Great ambiance with even better food. The ultimate just seafood plater was outstanding with crab cakes, shrimp, lobster tail, and scallops. Try their signature orange crush to wash it down.

What a great place!! Great food and excellent staff and service!! Ask if you can be seated in Asia or Gabe's section and you will receive the best service and personalities on the beach! Not kidding one bit, this place and the people are just awesome-sauce in every way... did I mention how delicious all the food is too?! A must go place!

Service was great and fast even though the restaurant was PACKED. The bourbon chicken is amazing and my Endless summer crush was perfect. We were a table of 7 and all of the food came out correct and delicious.

Came here twice and loved the food each time, but the drinks were a miss. The nachos, hush puppies, and wings were excellent. The crab dip with pita was good, but not very flavorful. Had 3 different drinks, sent them back . Would come again for food and just skip the drinks.

Was not worth waiting all day for seafood. Got to the beach at 4:30 and chill until 8:30 to wait for some seafood. Shrimps we’re over cooked and none of the old bay gave the shrimps or clams flavor. 4 stars because I was really happy to be at the beach and at a place with a great atmosphere. Food wise they served me 2 stars but I did enjoy the experience and my drink.

Now this is the spot!!! Customer service was great. If I decide to go back to Virginia this place would be the reason why. Food was delicious and the drinks were good!! They even have a love DJ at night.

Excellent. Right on the boardwalk with a nice vibe. Food was great, atmosphere was wonderful and our server, Victoria was awesome. All of the waitresses seemed to be upbeat, friendly and welcoming. Our service was top notch.

The food gets 5 stars, experience gets a generous 4. The hostesses lack serious common sense and we’re not good at estimating times. Told our family at least 1.5 hour wait, which we were fine with so we cruised the board walk. 30 min later we received a text saying our table was ready. We hustled back in 9 min and we’re told we were too late and had to put ourselves back on the list and start over. The two girls argued it was policy and would not accept that their gross inaccurate estimate was wrong. A quick talk with manager and he made it right and sat us. Forgiven!!! The food was great! My wife loved the fried shrimp as it was fresh and tender. The surf and turf tacos were awesome my son devoured his little neck clams. The other kids got Mac and cheese (kids) and liked it, but beware picky eaters it is a bit different than regular Mac and cheese kids eat. Worth a visit!!!

Awesome food, a little over priced but very fresh! Drinks are good as well. It’s very similar to the Waterman’s Surfside Grille menu . I prefer the food here though!

There isn't enough words to explain how much I love Chix on the beach. Each time I visit which is atleast twice a year. The drinks are always great. The crabs cakes are the best I've ever had. That is my usual meal is crab cake sandwich and crab dip. The staff is always top notch

okay... let's get down to the brass tacks here real quick... if you've ever been to waterman's then they're essentially the same... the menu is the same... so if you've tried something in waterman's then go ahead and order something new in this place... but like waterman's you won't be disappointed... the seafood platter we ordered was fresh as possible... the crab dip with pita and chips were one of the best we've ever had... the bbq wings were good... the drinks were good as well... the kids enjoyed their order which i have trouble remembering... but there were no leftovers... the ambiance was really warm and live music going on outside at the boardwalk... a night of happy experiences... a very good night... thanks vbva!

Such a stunning place with a vibe like no other. It’s on the beach which is already wholesome. There’s an amazing band playing music, outside seating, GOOD FOOD.. it’s amazing. Place can get super packed!

This place was amazing! Great food, great service, and great music. I listened to a live band named Brian Grilli, absolutely worth it while dining outdoors! I ordered the beach nachos minus pineapple salsa and they were heavenly! 10/10 recommend!

We were looking for a late night quick and easy dinner in walking distance from our hotel, and found Chix on the Beach. Even though we came in 30 min before close the staff was unfazed and provided great service. We sat at the bar and the food came out super fast, the blackened steak bites where melt in your mouth good. Fun takes on the classic crush delicious.

Jordan was our server, she was polite,attentive and accommodating. We chose to be seated in the heated indoor patio to get the ocean view and stay warm. ( 64 out this evening so a bit chilly for our 7 month old) The food came out quickly,accurately and tasted great. My wife enjoyed the crab ripper, and the cookies and cream cheesecake( to which Jordan quickly checked to see was in stock), which is just a bit different than your conventional cheesecake. They served locally sourced soda which was pretty cool. I had the surf and turf tacos, not only delicious but a cost effective alternative to traditional steak and shrimp. We were so pleased my wife and daughter are asking to go back, I agree, plus they have fresh house made keylime pie I've got to try!

Had to seat ourselves, but the drinks and food was really good. We got 2 crab rippers, caribbean crush & goomday crush for $60. We would return again, they have great service other than us seating ourselves.

My wife and I came to vacation and this was the first dining experience of our trip. Outside misrepresents the inside.The music was a tad too loud, but the food was absolutely FANTASTIC! I got a plain burger and their Mac n Cheese (I know, I'm very basic). They should really highlight the Mac n Cheese on their menu more. It was easily the highlight of the meal in both my wife and I's opinion. I normally am not a fan of Mac n Cheese made anywhere but at home. But this Mac n Cheese was an absolute home run! My wife got the "Just the Seafood" which came with Jumbo Shrimp, Crab meat, and scallops. She said all 3 were very fresh and were delicious. Everything looked and tasted fantastic. Will always come back when around.

Great view from the patio. Always quite busy but never had an issue getting a table quickly. Free valet is great since parking is difficult. The Crushs are great and food is good! Large portions justify the price.

This is my wife and I's favorite beach spot. We come here every year and the food is consistently very tasty and well cooked. While my wife always gets the crab soup, I ordered blackened Shrimp skewers this time and it was some of the best shrimp I've ever had. The Mozzarella sticks are also unparalleled. Service was fantastic as usual and our server, Asia was great as well, pleasant and winsome. Will continue to come back for more.

I come back every year for the She Crab Soup. I look forward to eating it for 364 days and it never disappoints! We also had the mozzarella sticks, homemade and delicious, and my husband had some blackened shrimp skewers. They were some of the best shrimp we have ever had. The frozen peanut butter pie was perfect. We went for lunch this year and there was no wait and the outdoor seating was peaceful. I look forward to next year!

The food was good but pricey. I got the blackened tuna southwestern salad. Lots if Lettuce but a little short on the other ingredients. Kids got various tacos, which they liked. My husband said the crabcakes were very good. He said his hushpuppies were a little dry. The server was good and the wait to get seats and our food was very short. Overall ok but not spectacular.

Beautiful scenery and great food. Loved the service that Kelly provided. We are some fish tacos that were awesome. We also had the blackened yellow fin tuna and it was the bomb! I had the Just Seafood and it was great but small. The fact that it sits on the oceanfront made it easier to drinks some great craft seafood.

Excellent. Good atmosphere with indoor, outdoor and terrace seating. Service was very good. Drinks were very good. The Orange crush and the Cherry Mule were delicious. I had grilled yellow fin tuna that was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Crab cakes were wonderful and the Mac and cheese was fantastic. Only knock was the crab dip. It was tasty but nothing special.

Lively atmosphere at night! Nothing too off the walls, but it makes for a good pregame - live music, dancing people, beverages. But, there’s also a large area to eat that is right on the boardwalk. Off the top of my head, it’s the only place in Virginia Beach where prime location meets prime food and prices are not for the Uber rich. We got seated quickly, and everyone around us was nothing short of nice.

Had the pleasure of dining here and the experience was good ! I ordered the beach nachos with blackened tuna, amazing!!! Wish they came with shrimp and my daughter ordered cod fish sandwich not so good in fact she ate my nachos if you get them they are filling and generous enough to share.

This was my birthday gift from my framily friends.. the greeters and wait staff were pleasant with a smile, very aware of food choices, very attentive to our to replenishing our beverages and requests.. the food was delicious.. the LIVE entertainment was good.. the ocean view was good from where we sat on the outside covered patio.. First time eating here… food was good…the sweet tea I ordered had a massive amount of sugar in the bottom of the glass— enough to send me into a diabetic coma… service was good…waaaay too many ppl with no mandate of social distancing in place…we were a bit weary about that…however the atmosphere was good with exception of loud patrons who had way too much to drink. The live band was nice. We would eat here again…

Couldn’t ask for a better casual beachside dining experience! From the hostess to the server, drinks and food, the atmosphere and location was perfect. Several different eating areas, inside and out. Crushes were refreshing, mozzarella sticks SO good, lump crab cake sandwich and glazed chicken sandwich were very delicious. I appreciate having a house specialty sauce for the fries! Looking forward to coming back!

We ordered the Beach Nachos appetizer with the chicken and they were some of the best nachos ever! We finished almost the whole dish and were so full we couldn’t order actual food lol. My cousin had the cheese fries and they were delicious also. Really going to have to go back and order some actual food! It was also a Saturday night so we had quite a long wait time but it was worth it. Our waitress was phenomenal and so, so, sweet. They also had a live band with good music so they made the wait fun.

The crab dip is absolutely nasty. Taste like tuna. The food was just ok. Nothing fancy. We had Tacos and burgers. My burger was so dry. It was supposee to be med well, but I dont like to send food back. The atmosphere was charming. Although our waitress was rushing us w/ everything she was attentive to our needs.

We chose the place based on many good reviews and it was actually just 3 min walking distance from our hotel. The wait time was initially 45 min. Was sort of rush hour pass 7pm and the final wait time was probably less than 30 min. The meals were great with good distinctive taste. The reason I am taking off one star is because we felt rushed by our server. Although she was really nice and attentive and maybe just too attentive as she asked us about 5-6 times within 20 minutes if we want anything else while my wife was trying to finish her main course.

First time visiting here and it was wonderful! Wonderful atmosphere, and wonderfully decorated! We were a little disappointed that they stopped serving brunch for the summer, however the rest of the menu was still very appealing and everything sounded so good! Lots of seating inside, outside, at the bar, and the covered porch. Our server was very sweet and helpful and she checked on us all the time. The view was amazing, and the orange crush really tied it all together! Definitely a must for locals and tourists coming to the oceanfront!

Best restaurant on the boardwalk! Casual atmosphere, ample oceanfront/oceanview seating, valet parking, good service and the food offerings are delicious and expertly prepared. The calamari is my "must have" appetizer. Ask about the catch of the day. Blackened Yellowfin tuna (like mine rare, of course)is outstanding. My wife always orders the crabcake entrée. She claims they are in her top 2 best crabcakes in the US. Try one of their famous Waterman Crushes cocktails! Highly recommend 👌

It was just okay. I ordered fish tacos and another ordered the fish sandwich. Also one ordered the Just seafood. The seafood looked delicious and the eater said it was. My fish tacos were bland. The sandwich was good with a huge piece of fish on it. My biggest issue was that the fish was supposed to be cod, but was definitely not, flounder maybe. Fries were good and service was great.

Had a great time here. Had Ryan as a bartender and he was exceptional. Always made sure we were taken care of. The vibe was so good we came back for lunch the next day. Had Maddie as a server and she was amazing, so nice! The staff here is 10/10. Steak bites and homemade mozzarella sticks were the best I've had anywhere. Fiance loved the nachos. Definitely recommend checking out if you're in the area!

My wife and I dined at Chix On The Beach for dinner during our visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. We started with crab dip, moved on to the just seafood and wrapped up with key lime and peanut butter pie. Mark took expert care of us. Highly recommended and we would return.

I just went for the drinks but the others in my party had meals they enjoyed. The drinks were awesome. Consistently good pours except one round when our bartender was caught up and we were served by another. We told our original and she quickly rectified it. Definitely a good watering hole.

My absolute favorite restaurant on the ocean front. The backend tuna on beach nachos is our go to snack when we hit the boardwalk. Added a side of queso this time but usually do the guacamole.

First time there, Katie was our waitress and she was AWESOME!!!!! The atmosphere was GREAT!!!!! The food, it was FANTASTIC!!!!! Definitely recommend this place. We will go there again. (After 11pm, it turns into a hoppin joint with dancing and partying). We had dinner at about 930 or so and there was a live band there. Great place. And great view of the beach too.

Super cool patio to eat at on the water front, so nice! The food here was spectacular and the service was quite fast. The cherry limeade was a perfect splash to wash down some really good scallops! Overall 5 stars don’t change anything other than losing the masks ;)

We stay a few hotels down, and this is our favorite place to walk to after a long day. Their staff are very nice and accommodating. Fynn, our waitress, closed the door for us when it was too cold and always came back every few minutes to check in. Their seafood and steak dishes are amazing, and their mac and cheese is a must have! I'm a huge desert fan and I'm super impressed with their brownie gooey sundae. The best brownie I've ever had! Overall, just stop by here if you're ever down by the beach, you wont regret it.

We got to Chix early one evening, around 5 pm. We were seated immediately and got an order of chicken nachos for the table to share (4 adults, 3 kids). The nachos were the best part of the meal, plenty of toppings on each bite. We all enjoyed them and they were reasonably priced for the entire table. Outside of the nachos, the rest of the food was average. The kids ate typically kids' menu fare--hamburger, steak bites, and chicken tenders. The adults ordered various tacos, which were fine, but not anything special. All of our food came out quickly. Even with ordering an appetizer, we were only there about 45 minutes. Overall, my husband and I would return if the wait was short and would split an order of nachos for dinner.

We had a fantastic time. Food was on time and tasty as always, even noticed some new items on the menu! But what made it the best of all? SHAWN our waiter was on point. Never ran out of anything and he didn’t forget anything. Best ever! He deserves a raise! Oh did I mention the view as it’s on the beach.

We ended up eating here two nights because it was literally SO delicious and the waitress our first night was so on top of her game! Both waitresses each night were fantastic and never skipped a beat! This place operates SO well even when it was PACKED full each time! Food was excellent and cooked perfectly. The parking staff was so friendly. We had the delicious crab dip with pita, steamed shrimp, Cesar salad, steak and crab cake, loaded fries, and the chicken cobb salad. We ordered the crab dip again the 2nd time because it was that good! Overall definitely a 10!!!! We can’t wait to go back!

Location and service are a five and seems like a great place for a drink or to catch a game. Food is decent but really nothing special. Local soda is the only option (not Coke or Pepsi) and while it is cool they are supporting local business, it really isn't very good. Tableside cash out with Toast is a plus - they have been doing this in Europe for decades so nice to finally see it here.

I've been here a handful of times and enjoy it every time. Great drinks and tasty well prepared food. Definitely try the buffalo fish (seafood take on buffalo wings) - so yum!!

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, service and food! Service was speedy, waitress was able to answer all of my questions about the menu. I got the Hush Puppies and the Nachos as my Entree, my Partner got the She Crab Soup and the Fish Tacos. Our food was immaculate, no notes whatsoever, if you come to VA Beach you absolutely have to come check out Chix on the Beach. My only regret was not getting one of their signature Crush drinks, they looked SO good! Next time ☺️

Gorgeous dining right next to the beach, the decor is really cute too. The food is amazing, the crab was big and full of meat, i got the crab and shrimp steamer bag and it was super good. My mom got the ultimate seafood something and she said it was really good. We both had leftovers, lot of food! Our server was incredibly sweet to my little sister (: listened intently to her story about her new crystal she bought and the starfish at home. Very clean cute bathroom and all staff was wearing a mask. 10/10 would go again!

Awesome!!! Highly recommend! Food was worth the money spent. Delicious! Service was great!! Also was able to bring my puppy. We sat on the patio deck, was a little chilly but we were prepared. They also offered seating in the outdoor heated area. Was not worried about Covid-19. They kept us a good distance from others and waiters wore masks and I saw them cleaning the ketchup containers left on tables. I was very content with this restaurant and plan to come back again! Fast, clean, accurate, and friendly service! **I recommend the ultimate seafood platter for my seafood lovers! My husband had the crab in a bag was very good as well!**

The Steamer bag of shrimp is a great value! I was stuffed, my to go box equaled another meal. The Key Lime pie is the best outside of Florida, traditional with no added food coloring...so perfect to me. The staff is absolutely great going out of their way to welcome and serve, very friendly. Walk here if you're staying at a hotel, parking is limited. You can shop afterwards along Atlantic Avenue, walk the Boardwalk or the beach for an enjoyable night.

Loved the beach facing view and the food. We got a 1lb peel and eat shrimp and an Atlantic seafood platter. The platter had fries, hush puppies, crab cake, Cole slaw and 2 dips which were amazing. Loved the traditional fried taste of it. We had a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream for dessert which was delicious. The pub was very loud so if you want to spend some quiet time with loved ones, this isn't the place. Thumbs up for their food though!

She crab soup was delicious with little chunks of crab. My shrimp po boy hit the spot. The crab cake melt looked superb. Live band was great! The bartenders were attentive and quick. I had an orange crush and a cherry limeade one. I also had the broiled crab cake sandwich. All were delicious! Not very expensive. The best part is you can leave out straight to the boardwalk and beach to see the sun set.

Enjoyed sitting outside with the kids. The caesar with Grilled tuna was delicious.Had kid crushes, which was a cute spin. Kid's food portions were not very generous for 7 and 9 year olds, but would be perfect for 5 and under. Perhaps add a big kids menu for a couple dollars more? Bigger portions? 🤷‍♀️ Just a suggestion! Server was very nice and service was swift, considering the busy dinner crowd. Besides the newborn baby screaming every few minutes, it was a nice time. --Did I mention that the newborn was mine? 🥴🥴🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

We ate at Chix twice in one day. Had a wonderful experience for lunch, Dawn, our waitress and so sweet and accommodating. The food was so good. We went back later to get some happy hour specials. We waited quite a while for a seat even though there were plenty of open tables, and then even longer to get waited on. Our waiter did apologize; they were short staffed and 2 large parties had just showed up- that was a bummer for us though since happy hour ran out and we were not able to get what we wanted for the expected happy hour prices even though we had showed up in plenty of time. The food and view is wonderful!

Food was good. Usually busy here. Free valet parking is a must, or walk up, as there's limited parking. Fish tacos are good as well as the low country boil. Beer ordered from the bar was substantially larger than those ordered from the table.

Holy guacamole. I order the nachos thinking they'd be a decent portion for just me to eat as a meal. When they brought out the food it was enough for probably 4 people to eat as a meal. Delicious! Friendly staff and their drinks were great. Hope to be able to return!

Stopped in for lunch. The blackened salmon tacos were excellent. I ordered mine medium, but medium rare or rare would be equally good. I added a crab cake and a pint of local IPA. The crab cake is of superior quality. Add one to any order, and prepare yourself for a genuine delight. Sitting on the patio and taking in the ocean breeze and beautiful scenery is a bonus.

I had the great pleasure of dining here while on a quick weekend vacation.. The food was excellent, I ordered the "Just Seafood" and the great tasting calamari was delicious, despite, my misunderstanding, I was hoping to get the items separate, the placed the shrimps, scallops over top of crabmeat.. I really wanted and was expecting crab cakes. My awesome waiter was soo nice. She offered many times to exchange my meal, I refuse and told her its okay, I will give it a try.. it was okay, my advice is to just order the crab cakes.. I was so enjoying the live band the sports on all the many TV's, everyone (staff, patrons) was so happy nice and laughing, the atmosphere IS SUPERB, if you are ever in town, this spot is a must, oh did I mentioned the beach is right behind the place.. I give this restaurant TOP ZILLION STARS, please ask for Britt the waiter.

OMG! The BEST food hands down!!! I ordered the Coastal Tacos ($11.99) with Chicken. It included Queso dip and Guacamole, along with chips, a nice touch. The server was on point, she checked on my friend & I every 10 minutes, which was greatly appreciated. We sat in the heated enclosed patio area and decent tunes were playing, love 80’s music!

There's some work needed with seasonings I could tell the shrimp wasn't seasoned just by other people's plates yet the steak bites were seasoned to perfection. Another issue the tea...looked like lemonade. Its tasted like dirt it was gross. The fries were good the atmosphere was great & I had one of best chicken sandwiches ever. Ate a Steamer bag of shrimp & crab. Kinda reminds me of a Maine lobster bake. Shrimp, crab, potatoes, corn, sausage. A bit salty on the crab legs. You get half of the crab's 8 legs and a lot of shrimp. A hands only meal. Quite messy if you're not used to eating seafood. The meal arrived in a netted bag with a plate, pinchers (my teeth did a better job), wet napkins. A good tasting meal. Also had calamari for an appetizer. It was excellent. A lightly battered and fried food. This meal is how seafood is to be cooked. Where you taste the entry, not grease or watered down crab.

I had a great time, the most important thing though is to go early, at least before the music starts (they have a stage outside and once the bands start to play, you can forget getting in and eating it is way too packed). My husband and I went to dinner around 5:30PM and we were able to sit down and relax, and it wasn't to busy, but took a few to get our food. It was worth the wait, because once we got our food (we both ate fish and chips, it was great!) the band had already started playing and we had a front row seat! I think the music started about 6:30 (check online before you go in case it has changed) but we were having a great time listening to the band and by the time we finished eating, and got dessert it was around 9! We didn't even notice time was flying by because we were having fun, and the band was great and it created such a fun atmosphere we didn't want to leave! The fish was fresh and the fries were cooked perfectly crispy so dine in and have fun!

Probably the most lively bar/restaurant on the boardwalk. They had live music right outside the patio and it was great. This is the sister restaurant to Waterman's just up a couple blocks away. The menu is essentially the same w a reduction of $1 on most entrees. This is not a negative as they both provide great service and deliciously prepared food & drinks. Tonight was apparently crab night for us. We started w their chowder-like She Crab Soup, which we both think is very good. Next, local Lump Crab Cakes w sides of mashed potatoes, green beans, peppers, & onions, and a fried Crab Cake Sandwich w fries. Both entrees were filled w crab that tasted awesome! Came back another night and a classic cheeseburger w red pepper aleoi & fries and surf 'n turf tacos w chips. Both selections were terrific!

My husband was ok with the fish tacos. He said the fish could have used a little more seasoning. I taste a piece and it was good to me. My mom, son and nephew all ordered crab cake sandwiches and they loved it. Even the burger was good. My brother ordered that. I had the ultimate seafood broil with mash and veggies. Awesome!!! 45 minute wait the 1st night. 30 minute wait the 2nd night. Drinks were watered down. Disappointing! First ordered a bloody mary...super watery but they replaced it for free and took it off my bill. (See picture) Hot crab dip was served with chips and I didnt love it served that way. (See picture) I got the shrimp bag with peel and eat shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes. Yum! We were seated outside and I'm thankful because when I went in to use the bathroom, it was super loud, super smokey and packed! Waiter Evan was fun. Plastic cups from your drinks are fun souvenirs!

I asked her two times politely to give me the receipt , the 2nd time I asked she gave me the receipt which wasn’t even showing credit card purchase , she just printed one & handed it to me . My friends and I arrived for a late lunch around 1500. The restaurant was full inside and on the outside. Fortunately, there was seating available for 3. They had plenty of waiters and the service was quick. I really enjoyed the fact that they served vegetarian options at a seafood restaurant. I ordered the nacho platter for the appetizer and shared it with my friends. It was very large. Unfortunately, many of the chips were burnt. Nevertheless, they were still editable. The greek hummus wrap was very delicious and I would recommend for any vegetarian 😋. The waitress was very polite and checked on us often. I'm glad I stopped and recommend that you do too. Enjoy!

Each year on our annual trip to VA Beach I visit Chix. I always have great experiences. Wait staff is very attentive, drinks are good and food is tasty. This visit I was disappointed that crab/crab legs had been removed from the menu due to the price influx. (I liked the steam bag with shrimp and snow crab) I thoroughly understand, adjustments have to be made. Fridays and Saturdays they have live music and later in the night a DJ. After my dinner I returned for drinks and the DJ dance party. I was sitting at the bar and they began to remove the bar stools. The reason I was given, the place gets crowded and to give more space when the DJ is on. This was disappointing, as I was just able to take a seat and enjoy my drink. Sometimes you just want to sip and enjoy the music. I did stay and had a great time despite being kicked out of my seat. Some changes since my last visit, however overall still a great time.

Try to avoid going here in a large group. We went with a group of 7 on a Saturday night. It took them 1.5 hours to seat us. After about an hour and 20 mins, I walked through the restaurant and noticed our table was READY but for some reason or another, we weren't sat for another 10 mins. Really after I complained to management. I order a Sprite. When it was delivered, I noticed something floating in the glass. I order another one. 10 mins later, the waiter brought back the same glass of Sprite. I didn't notice until after I started drinking the Sprite. Also, my silver ware had paper stuck to the handle. I had to send it back and ask for another. Dispite a rough start, the food was flavorful. I had the mac and cheese with kielbasa (a must try) and steak. Restaurant managers Ricky and Gabriel were very kind, apologetic and promptly addressed our issues. I would go back to this restaurant. However, I would try to avoid this restaurant during peak hours.

The food was decent. Drinks were great! Ambience is good if you are sitting outside. The table reservation system sucks though. You have to either reserve a week in advance or go there in person to get your name in the waiting list. They won’t add you to the list over the phone. And the wait times can be as much as an hour.

Atmosphere is great and staff was nice but not well experienced. Friendly as ever but was messing up with tables orders, not knowing where food and drinks go to be delivered. A few of them just seemed lost but was friendly and apologetic. My waitress added another tables orders to my bill, so that was fun having her ask us all what we all actually ordered. More of a bar then a restaurant, expect that kind of crowd and atmosphere. We ate outside and enjoyed the live music. Food was nothing to write home about, it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. Burger claims to be the best in the boardwalk but mine was over cooked and bland so I hope that’s not true. Mixed drinks were weak and small. This place gets by on their location, which is a great spot directly on the boardwalk.

Service was great and the quality of food and drink were excellent. Unfortunately the chef has his own opinion of how the food you order should be cooled. The medium rare steak was closer to well done. Order raw and send it back to taste. The mixed veggies grilled were lightly grilled at best. Not grilled/pan fried well and not much of a mix. Both meat and vegetables were exceptionally good quality, so even not close to my taste we're still GOOD. Again service was outstanding even if the staff had to run because of under staffing.

The ultimate "chillout and have a burger," place on the oceanfront! Always very clean, great service, indoor and outdoor seating. Great for families, couples, or soloing it out at the bar. In the middle of a great area of the oceanfront. Perfect for off the beach munchies or valet park it for date night! Prices are in-line with other oceanfront restaurants, but the quality of service and food is much better than surrounding dine-ins.

We ate lunch here in early July 2022. They had just opened and it wasn't busy. Our server was amazing, she was exceptionally nice and welcoming. The firecracker burger special was delicious (fried shrimp on the burger with a mango salsa), and the bourbon chicken was excellent. We will certainly eat here again when visiting the beach!

Service was decent, food the same. They are in the middle of renovations and did not have the food we were expecting, also the server did not lead off with that information. If a seafood restaurant is out of seafood I think it would be best to let the customers know before they look at the menu. However, what food we did eat was decent. I will go to this restaurant again, but after renovations and I'll ask about meals before I get there. Beautiful view on the sun deck though!

First time here & the food was delicious. Kind of busy so there was a little bit of a wait which was okay. Got sat in the very back so it kind of felt like we were abandoned in a sense. Ordered a couple of drinks & the first ones were good a bit too much ice but it's expected at a restaurant but the last 2 that we ordered were slammed to the top with ice....so basically ended up paying 8$ for a snowcone. Other than the issue with the drinks, the experience was good & the food was good.

First time at Chix and the food was AMAZING! If you go check out the Yellowfish Tuna. They catch it everyday in the ocean which makes it delicious. Get it medium (juicy) they top it with a crab salsa over a bed of rice and sauteed vegetables on the side. Mmmmm Good. Best meal I've had since being at Virginia Beach. Will def come back and visit.

When we have eaten here the food was fair to good. You are truly paying for eating at the waterfront. We ordered drinks at the bar last weekend that were terrible. I hope there was something wrong with their soda system because those were the worst tonic drinks we have ever been served...oh and no lime available. DINNER - This was a nice experience after the extremely loud drunk at a table next to us left. They really should have been moved outside or asked to leave since inside was mostly families with small children. My chicken was very raw but the manager came and inspected it and took care of my meal. He even saved the situation with good service. And, happily, I didn't get sick (I'd had a bite before I opened it up to see why something seemed off). The food was, otherwise, pretty good at dinner. The street tacos were good. The mac & cheese was good. They wouldn't let my pre-school daughter keep her Cookie Monster shake. They made her throw it away because she wasn't allowed to take her drink. So she was upset because that was her reward for finishing her dinner and I was out the money. We sat at the bar area (crowded and not kid friendly section) so she could drink some of her shake. BREAKFAST/BRUNCH We took the receipt back at brunch, as it says on it to do, to receive 20% off. However, we only got $1.90 off a $75 bill (over $90 with tax/tip) because they only applied it to one meal since they said the others weren't "breakfast". They wouldn't add peppers or onions to the home fried potatoes (which I usually see with those) but the potatoes were done well. The biscuits and gravy were good. The chicken Cesar wrap they did do on bread instead of tortilla but it wasn't super flavorful. Now AFTER the breakfast meeting, a couple of us stayed to start off the weekend with mimosas. They have a build-your-own where they bring a bottle and 3 juices. We added a shot of amaretto because a skosh of amaretto in a mimosa is amazing. It's tough to pour since there are no spouts - just plain glasses - but we still made yummy ones and enjoyed it.

This was a nice place. Good, fresh food. Would definitely come back. This was part of our plan of a place to go to in case the first one had too long of a wait. I have a toddler. I need food in front of her by a certain time. I can't have her wait for an hour plus to get her food. Chix brought out her food within 15 minutes and the best part it was the freshest, tastiest fish sticks we've tasted. She ate them all. She ate the veggies (I asked for veggies instead of fries) then she ate our mashed potatoes that came with our seafood meals. We got broiled dinners. I do wish the the mash potatoes and the seafood dinners had less butter though. Service was attentive and properly timed. We were out within the hour.

We went here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I ended up getting the bourbon chicken and it was great. They had our favorite beer on tap also which was great, since no many places have it! Everyone enjoyed their lunch that day but there are two things that weren't great. The price of their beers are pretty high for a beer! $7 for a beer seems rather high even if you are on the beach. The other downfall is they don't have Heinz ketchup. Not sure why these places don't carry it. That's the only good ketchup out there. Highly recommend changing over to that! Other than that, it was a good first experience and we would come back.

During my visit to Virginia Beach, my friend and I visited this restaurant Chix on the Beach. Upon arriving, you will need to utilize the parking deck 1 block away, they only have Valet Parking at the restaurant. [Parking Deck10.00]. That definitely was not a problem! Once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a host and she was very warm. We were seated and greeted by our waitress who gave us tons of suggestions and was very bubbly. We ordered mozzarella sticks (amazing) loaded chicken nachos. We also ordered burgers that were cooked to your liking with fresh toppings. This restaurant is definitely on my list to come back and visit. They also have a covered patio section with a view of the beach. 😁 Great Pick! Thank you Chix on the Beach.

It was a nice day to sit on on the beach to enjoy the sun and food. The valet drivers were friendly a long with the hosts. Even though we went mid day and it was busy we were able to get quick service. Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating. I had the broiled shimp, scallops and crab meat with a side order of Cesar salad. Just enough for a bit afternoon to be satisfied. Fresh tasting. I'd definitely will go back for dinner.

The food and drinks were pretty good, but a little on the pricey side. The calamari was cooked perfectly, the Just Seafood was well seasoned but the scallops were a touch underdone and the portion sizes were pretty small. Chix has a really great view of the ocean and great ambiance but almost no parking so if you have a large group, you should carpool. The do have a free valet service but you usually have to wait in line a while. Overall, pretty decent place if you like seafood and have plenty of time to enjoy the scene.

Awesome seafood place on the boardwalk. The wait staff here is super friendly. We ate here twice in 3 trips to the beach during our week in Virginia. First was lunch and then dinner a few days later. Neither visit disappointed. My wife loves the she crab soup. I would love it too if I wasn't lactose intolerant. Instead I had the crab cake sandwich the first time and Atlantic feast the second. Very good. I really love their hush puppies too.

This was absolutely amazing. Our server amber was on top of it and making sure we were happy the whole time even though it was clearly very busy. The food was delicious and the nacho appetizer was big enough to be a meal. We got two sodas, nachos (we added sour cream and guacamole) and hush puppies and our bill was below 30 bucks. For the way this place looks and the beach view this is an awesome price! Overall the food was great. My biggest complaint is our food came out one dish at a time making our dining experience take too long. This also made the last person to get their meal feel the need to rush since everyone else is finished eating. Our server was nice and apologetic and this may just be a result of being short staffed due to the pandemic. Give the steak bites a try while you are there.

I had the shrimp arugula salad. The shrimp was grilled perfectly and the salad was very fresh. I had key lime pie for dessert. The crust was crispy with a hint of cinnamon and the filling was a nice balance of tart and sweet. My only complaint is I was using a walker and the hostess took us to the farthest section of the restaurant which was tiring for me. Overall a great experience.

This place was hopping when we arrived, but we did not have to wait for a table. Our server, Mike, was friendly and helpful. I got the yellowfin tuna, which was cooked perfectly! My husband really enjoyed the "Just Scallops" meal. Prices were typical for the beach.

The snow crab legs platter was a nice amount and cooked perfectly! The burger was supposed to be medium well, a little pink, but instead was cooked to a medium and there was a lot of pink. Service was excellent. Just an FYI No masks worn by staff and no attempt to social distance.

Usually places like this on a boardwalk don't check all the boxes, but this place does. Great food excellent location and our server Kelly put it over the top. The tuna sandwiches were excellent. It won't be a one and done, we will hit Chix up again before our trip is over.

Really nice place; it happened to be our anniversary, and I wanted a place that was still casual (we were on vacation, after all) and yet maybe a step above most of the restaurants you find along the boardwalk in Virginia Beach. Both the food and drinks were excellent, and we four adults split two ample deserts - including a delicious key lime pie. Highly recommended; if I ever visit VB again, I would likely eat here again.

The food there was OK. It was very bland. We ate outside and it was very nice. The shrimp and crab bag was not what I expected! Do not get this if you think you are going to get a bag like Twisted Crabs. However, on the good side the drinks was good. The waitress was very nice. My friends and I had a good time.

Went here to celebrate graduation. Didn’t have to wait long for a table at all. We had Kristin as our server. She was AMAZING! She had to come back several times because we were not sure what to get to eat but she gave great recommendations and remained patient throughout our interactions together. Very personable, polite and made a wonderful impression on me. I have never been here until tonight but we will definitely be making the 40 minute drive from Deep Creek in Chesapeake to eat here very frequently 😊

Our waitress Madison was exceptional. She helped us in ordering. The daily specials were a good deal. The serloin steak was excellent. The fried Atlantic platter is more than enough for 1 person. The Just Seafood was excellent and enough for 2 people to share. We sat outside and enjoyed the sound and sights omg the Boardwalk. This place was recommended by some locals for good seafood. It was a little pricey but not bad considering it is right on the beach.

We read the reviews before visiting. We were really excited for a great experience....in short...food tasted great. That's all I can say. My 9 year old little left starving. Fyi children's plates are sized for toddlers not normal kids.. prices are high for portions. I literally got 2 scallops 4 shrimp a quarter cup of crab meat. Alongside a half cup of loaded mashed potatoes and 12 green beans. For 24$. My husband ordered a 28$ steak. He got a tiny rib eye with his half cup of loaded mashed potatoes and 12 cold green beans. But our ticket showed a 30$ steak. Service was slow. Waitress was sweet but not attentive at all. I wouldn't recommend this place and I wouldn't return.

Good menu & drinks. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, for me, the best part is it's one of the only places that allows dogs on their patio. Take advantage of their free parking, but make sure to tip the valets. They take great care of the vehicle's.

The atmosphere and music really make this place, but the food was a little lacking. The hush puppies were perfectly crispy served with butter (in the small plastic containers impossible to get out, perhaps a butter sauce to dip in would be better?). The Crab Riper sandwich was dry and a bit flavorless. The side of fries were delicious, good taste and crunch. The cocktail was on point (coconut lime crush), the right mix of alcohol and mixers. Husband likes his lager. For the vibes and beautiful view, it's definitely worth a stop for appetizers and a cocktail.

Hands down our favourite restaurant at VA beach. The calamari is crisped up to perfection, the shrimp is steamed and seasoned enough to make you lick your fingers afterwards. The crab legs are OUT OF THIS WORLD. We ordered some drinks which were alright but got crab dip to-go and regretted no getting more. THAT'S HOW GOOD IT WAS. 100% recommend this place.

Seen great reviews for this place so we decided to try it during our short weekend stay in Virginia Beach. We were not disappointed. The food was so good and fresh. I had the scallop dish which was the best tasting scallops I've ever eaten. The cheese fries with bacon was scrumptious. I will visit again next time I'm there.

Was hoping for good seafood but came away disappointed. I had higher expectations for the lobster tail, shrimp and scallops meal. The food was bland and watery. They simply boiled the food and cheaply threw some old bay seasoning on it. The atmosphere was good and the drinks were fine as well but the food leaves room for improvement.

Burger was cooked properly and 2 clusters of crablegs completed our meal. The crablegs were requested without Old Bay (I know a crime near the Bay). Really good food, really good service. Had a fantastic dinner! The Beach Nachos with tuna and pineapple salsa were delicious as an appetizer. Entree was the fried shrimp - reasonable portion of delicately breaded, tender shrimp, enjoyed every bite. Service was great.

Chix seems like a very popular eatery in VA beach, as it was busy and loud every time we walked by. I went on Saturday for the second time ever, and it was just okay. I ordered shrimp and steak tacos, and it was reminiscent of pre-cooked, microwaved meat. Unfortunately the tacos were lacking flavor and dry. The guacamole also tasted season-less. My friends ordered a burger and a seafood trio of some sort (shrimp, scallops & crab), and they all liked their food. The portions didn’t seem overly big, and the burger was also dry, but my two friends who had the seafood dish liked the taste of theirs. The drinks were good as well. Just wish the food had more flavor and flair.

I took an Aperol Spritz and some steak bites with the vegetables mix instead of fries.. the steak was perfectly cook (I ask for rare), the spices and the sauce on the side were also really good, the meat was of really good quality, melted in my mouth.. and the vegetables mix were also good, don’t like squash too much normally, but I found them really good (added a little salt on it though).. Each time I come to Virginia Beach, I go there for the steak bites and the vegetables.. never been deceived..

A group of friends and I came here for restaurant week. The she crab soup, south end tuna, and peanut butter chocolate pie were so good, as were the cocktails. This spot is right on the boardwalk and has a nice view. Service was excellent as well. We'll definitely be back for more specials.

My sisters and I went here our first night of vacation. The decorations were super cute and the waitress was very friendly. The food was amazing, I got the steamed crab legs! The only problem was that it was way too loud in the restaurant to the point where the waitress right next to me could not hear me. It was super busy, the tvs were blaring, and there was a live band with loud speakers. On the door it said no public restrooms, which is a little off putting. Other that that, it was amazing!

The service was the best service I have received in probably years, their point of sale system is perfect at the table and the use of technology wherever they could was awesome. WAY OVERPRICED! Food was decent, service was ok. I'm glad we walked because there was NO parking. Caed machines were down so I had to walk from on end of the restaurant to the other a few times finding a machine that worked, that took an additional 25 minutes waiting to pay after the 15 minutes it took to get our check. The Margarita was awesome, but for $11.00 my drink had about 4oz. of margarita.

Went here spur of the moment after going to the aquarium with family and friends. Our waitress was new, it was only her 2nd day on the job by herself. She was an absolute sweetheart and if she didn't know something she made sure to go find out for us. My wife loved her crab legs and my crab cake sandwich was delicious. We had the crab dip for an appetizer as well that my wife enjoyed but I wasn't too fond of. I'm used to having lumps of crab in any crab dip I have had before but this one seemed to be more of a pureed style with the consistency of tuna salad.

Good beachy ambiance. Fish and chips was very expensive but it was pretty good, although a little more fish would have been nice for that price. The blood orange crush was underwhelming. The burger was pretty good. We also loved the lime coconut crush, it was delicious. Don't buy a shot here. It cost only $0.50 less than an orange crush. Buy the whole drink. Overall it was great!
