Okay smelled good from the outside. Looked good on the inside. I have plus and minuses. Our wait person was okay. I feel she was not table aware 😕. We had to ask for straws. We had to ask for a utensil setting. Steak was ordered, no steak knife. Dessert was ordered and took over 20 minutes..no kidding. Strawberry shortcake which was a joke. For the price of our dinner 🍽 they use paper towel napkins instead of cloth. Come on. Pluses- Red snapper was excellent. Steak was great. We ordered mixed cocktails and they were well received ☺️ 👍. The potatoes 🥔 were awesome and perfect. Truffle mac&cheese, wild rice. The brocolli had no seasoning. They have table runners who bring your food, not the wait person. That was nice. Restrooms. Good 👍

Great staff. Deluxe seafood menu. Fantastic personal Makers Mark Branded Bourbon. Really nice view of the beach. Warm settings with various fire pit setups. The Seafood Tower, Lobster Mac N Cheese and the Seafood Platter are a must!!!

**Dinner Great! **Breakfast Nah...*** Came for dinner and it was super packed. We were informed that while waiting for our table if the bar area becomes free we could just go sit there. This turned into a musical chair game trying to secure a free spot with other guests. But after about 20 minutes we were seated. Waiter was awesome, dinner was very good! Fresh seasoned well, hot delicious. The drinks were OMG! We enjoyed ourselves so much we figured we come for breakfast. Nope nope nope! The staff was friendly but the food was very bland I had to double check to see if this was the same place from the night before. We ordered basic stuff too! The most upsetting part of our breakfast was the pancakes. The pancakes broke apart like sand, indicating it was missing a binder EGGS!!! The taste wasn't great either. My guess is that there must be a different kitchen crew for breakfast and dinner because sheesh what a difference.

We had a wonderful time! The restaurant beach vibe was amazing, they had the doors open so there was ventilation in the restaurant, people were seated away from each other and it was comfortable to take masks 😷 off! Food was good. I did NOT enjoy my crab cakes but my Aunt’s (seen in pic) fish tacos were delish! We did make our own side - sweet potato truffle Parmesan fries 🍟….delish!!! Appreciated the valet parking and got to spend time at the oceanfront taking in the breeze in their rocking chairs. There was no rush to leave even though it was a holiday weekend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Catch 31! From the amazing views of the harvest moon, to the friendly and special care of our waiter Devante, to the special spins on classic drinks and dishes … a great time was had! Only wish we’d discovered it sooner on our trip and certainly look forward to returning when in the area. The Crab Cakes are superb and the dessert drinks are to be experienced early in your dining journey so that you might savor them longer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went here for our Anniversary and loved it. Our waitress (Jaslyn I believe) was well versed with the menu and helped us a lot with our selection. We sat outside on the heated patio and it was the perfect temperature. Also if you stay at the hotel you get a credit towards the restaurant so take advantage of that for sure. Would for sure come back

We were here twice. First time we were outside and we waited our menu almost 15 minutes, until we asked for it ourselves. The second time they were more responsive for new customers. Coconut Shrimp was delicious, Atlantic Tower is amazing.

"Old Stomping Ground"!!! Have LOTS of memories here from when they first opened!!! Wait wasn't long at all! However, we requested for a window seat and we were denied saying they didn't have any available. Perhaps they were still adhering to the typical, "every other table" rule, due to COVID-19? We thought...Nope! We were denied just to seat another couple at 1 of 3 window seats in our dining room area. This would've been a 5/5, but due to that, it's down to 4/5. If Hosts/Hostesses are to deny a couple/customers their request, they need to at least be consistent. Our plan for future visits? IF we're to be denied of our request again...We're asking if they'll at least be consistent. So! Future customers! IF y'all get denied your requests, ask if they'll be consistent as well!

We ate at Catch 31 while visiting Virginia Beach. We had a great meal in a cool atmosphere. We had clam chowder and a salad as appetizers. Then we both had the crab cakes for dinner and the Blueberry White chocolate cheese cake for dessert. Everything was great, the cheese cake was amazing.

Emily was a great server she was very friendly and helpful when it came down to us ordering. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was delicious the coconut shrimp and calamari appetizers were very tasty. Steaks came out as we ordered them and the lobster mac and cheese was so good. We'll be back!!

As a newly minted vegan, sometimes it's hard to find options especially in a renowned seafood restaurant... but our waitress was phenomenal and was sure to steer me clear of anything with hidden butter or dairy in my selections. Their salt and vinegar potatoes were a dream... potatoes with carmelized onions and button mushrooms, broccolini and a hefty mixed salad... it was a memorable meal in a wonderful atmosphere. My fiance had the bronzino with a bronze sauce and he polished it off!

My wife and I went to catch 31 Friday night and I had the whole Jerk Snapper dinner with an old fashion. It was great but my wife chicken dinner was dry. Customer service was great. Our waitress, Riley was very professional with great customer service. Located in an Hilton hotel facing the Virginia Beach water front.

I came here for a work dinner as the only vegan. I asked the server if they could serve me just whatever they could without much fuss. The chef did an amazing job! The photo might look a little bland but it had HUGE flavor. I’ve been served some sad sad sad dishes from chefs who don’t know how to cook vegan so I was THRILLED by the talent coming out of this kitchen. It says a lot about skill level when you can cook well for different dietary preferences. Our server handled our large party like a pro. She was excellent and attentive!

Tried this place after a recommendation from the front desk clerk at the beach front hotel we stayed for the weekend. Service was impeccable! Nice vibe, with ocean views. Classy and casual all at the same time. Food was beyond great. Very fresh seafood and other choices as well. A must try, but leave the kids with a sitter this is definitely adult dining.

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been in Virginia Beach. We went back for second time for sea food tower and also we ordered Guava mango cheesecake as a dessert it was amazing. I recommend it

The jerk chicken sandwich was excellent! The clam chowder (cream based) was also tasty. The staff really shines! Our bartender and the sommelier were so very friendly and helpful. They spent an inordinate amount of time helping me, a complete wine noob with a low budget, experience a great wine.

Had lunch at the bar and enjoyed a delicious Tuna Poke Bowl. There was a nice medley of flavors in the dish changing from Asian marinades on delicate tuna, to fresh vegetables for brightness, to sweet pineapple, and rice to almost cleanse the palate for the next bite. The bartender, Lauren was very helpful and informative with the beer and food selection. I look forward to another visit.

I will start with the good stuff. The server was friendly. Nice atmosphere. The portions were generous, at least for what we ordered: lobster Mac and cheese and Beachcomber. The location was convenient since it was inside the Hilton where we stayed. Their outdoor seatings was right infront of the amphitheater so great access to live music depending on the day. Now on to the not so nice stuff. I felt for the price, they could have tasted better. Drinks were kinda watered down. Talking about water, we had to ask for our water to be refilled, not the kind of service one would expect from an “upscale” restaurant.

If I could order straight from the chef, I would be good. You know it doesn't work that way though. We ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is tasty- no doubt. Here is where it gets tricky: the breakfast took wayyyy to long to come out and then the waitress couldn't be found when it was time to pay. I had to make my way to the front desk. Lunch- this restaurant is listed on DoorDash but they don't actually work with DoorDash for real and so we paid DoorDash and then got to the restaurant to find they had no knowledge of our order. We had to call DoorDash and cancel, get refunded, and then wait for the food to be prepared. Dinner- went inside to make a to-go order but the lady at the hostess desk told me to wait at the to-go desk, where there was no one to take my order. Eventually, I went back to the hostess and again she asked how could she help me. Well, ma'am, I'm still interested in ordering to-go. She took my order and life went on. Food was good at breakfast- the potatoes are clutch. At lunch, the crab cake was decent (I'm a transplant Marylander). Dinner- shrimp/scallops n grits. Please boil those grits longer than the instructions on the package and remember to keep stirring them. Especially these fancy steel cut grits. I'd go back now that I know all the little quirks about the place.

The food was delicious!!! The plating and presentation of our food was exquisite, *chefs kiss*... beautiful dining experience. Our server Emily was great, she made us laugh and went above and beyond! Also, as a Black artist celebrating my birthday weekend. I was happy to see Black chefs shining and doing their thing in culinary!!! Big ups to all the staff at Catch 31, you made my visit a memorable one! I will be back!

UPDATE: I went again this year after trying other seafood restaurants in the area then I was underwhelmed by Catch 31. The food was ok, but the location still unbeatable. You pay for the location because the food was good but not wow! LAST YEAR:The food was excellent. Fresh fish, hearty crab cakes and yummy kids mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. And even though they didn't have full staff, the service was great. We had a great time.

Good food but over priced. Spent $200 for a family of 4. We had Waited 2 hours for a table and one section their tables a way too close to other tables. It was raining that day so their outdoor dining was unavailable and increased their wait times. Spent the wait time directly across the street at the shops and at Neptune Statue right next to restaurant on boardwalk. They should really consider spacing some of this out because of the delta varient. Server was really nice. Fish & chips was huge, strawberry vinegerrette salad was good but they forgot the candied pecans in it, the lobster mac & cheese was a large portion - could use a little more seasoning (slightly bland) with very limited lobster in it, steamed oysters were good... but $8 for only 3! Crab cakes were decent.. again slightly seasoned. Food was decent but not for 2 hour wait or for $200 ($30 was tip) in my opinion.

I would definitely go back. So many things on the menu looked so good, I wish I could sample them all! I had the scallops, shrimp and grits. So flavorful! It reminded me of Busboys and Poets in D.C. That’s my top tier Shrimp and Grits spot, so this place has definitely been favorited on my list. I didn’t try any wines, they all seemed a bit dry for my taste. As for the service, it was okay. I’m glad I was seated in the private dining area where it was less crowded. The server had multiple tables and someone helping to bring out the food. He made a couple mistakes bringing items to the wrong tables and she quickly caught and corrected it. I was not informed of any specials or specific offerings at the restaurant. This was my first trip to VA Beach and this restaurant came recommended to me. I would’ve liked to hear some of the specialties. I’m glad with my food choice, but I opted out of dessert because I decided to go elsewhere. I wanted a full experience here and I didn’t get that.

It is very expensive. It is a upscale restaurant with bar. This is a perfect for a date night. Not a family friendly environment. The drink selection is small and the food portion are very small. You can't share anything. The atmophshere is great. But not for me. The menu choices are limited. However the food is very good. I recommend the coconut shrimp, steak, lobster Mac and cheese and the 🦀. THE DESSERT are amazing. It very small and limited and expensive but good. But not worth the price.. The waitress are young and attractive and friendly. I would suggest checking out other places on the boardwalk.

Catch 31 Fish House and Bar is a good place to try seafood amongst others. This place can be busy especially during the evening. They have good clams and oysters. And good soups as well. You can choose the raw option or a steamed one for your oyster or clams and other qualified foods. They have varieties of the clams which is nice. Mind you that lobsters and some other foods are based on market price. You’d like to check the price of the food that is based on market price before getting it, this if you’re mindful of your budget. Route to the reception can be a little tricky especially if you’re not sure where to go after entering the place off the boardwalk but the staff are helpful and will help you out.

Manager Samuel Lincoln and wait staff Alyssa and Rachel were so helpful with dining and drink selections as well as top notch service! A great atmosphere and so many seating options indoors and out. While staying a few blocks away for a wedding, my wife and I were looking for a place for dinner. While we were slightly underdressed, the restaurant was NOT!!!! A nice upscale restaurant with ocean views. The drinks were good and food even better. Our waitress was attentive and we'd DEFINITELY return. Just be aware that this is NOT a cheap date!

Prices are high BUT reasonable. Some of the best food we've gotten in VA Beach. A side of the truffled mac and cheese was only $5. That was a HUGE portion so very reasonable price on that. Only wish it was closer to our motel. We always like to stay at the same place, but the food options are more limited down this way...

I love this place and have been going there for years. One thing I noticed is the food is still great, but the attention to detail has gone down. I would encourage the restaurant to revisit its fundamentals of paying attention to the little things like flavor balancing without the overuse or underuse of salt. Concerning salt, there are numerous salts to choose from and all salt is not created equal. Overall food freshness and salt control are what I would recommend scrutinizing and I would adjust my opinion back to a 5-star rating.

How do I even begin... Entering, now this restaurant was fairly packed during the time we went. We asked to have a table for 2 on reserve and the wait was expected to be roughly an hour. Now this was on a Friday night, no complaints there! Upon finally being sat down, we were greeted by our sweet waitress who took no time to make sure we had water and instantly made sure our drink orders were taken care of. Incredibly fast service there! Our drinks came and then we were ready to order. We ordered Clam chowder, (lighting for that picture isn't the best so it's not multicolored). That clam chowder was to die for. Every bite had creamy creamy chowder and amazing clams. Yum yum! My boyfriend ordered salmon that had kale and potatoes and yet again another amazing dish! We also ordered a ceaser salad as a little side dish to munch on, now let me tell you what... that ceaser salad was so massive, the two of us couldn't even put a dent in it. It was also delicious. And last but certainly not least, the crab cake. There was no bread to it... at all. No filler, this crab cake was pure crab. D.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. I'm foaming at the mouth remember this taste! So yes, the food is amazing no matter what you get, I believe, however it is expensive. The salmon dish itself was 35$ the rest was roughly 10-15$ each. Would I spend the money again for this meal, hands down, I'm going again.

The ambience was nice and for the food it was OK. I ordered the coconut shrimp and that was amazing. I also ordered a chicken with broccolini and roasted potatoes. Potatoes and broccolini were good but the chicken was extremely dry. I had to take the sweet sauce from the coconut shrimp and put it over the chicken just so it wasn’t so dry. For the price that you pay for the chicken, it was not worth it. The chicken almost had me choke because it was overcooked and dry. So if I had to say whether or not, I was completely satisfied for the price that we paid, no I was not! My husband‘s meal on the other hand was great from what he has said .

We are staying in the Hilton Hotel and wandered into Catch 31 for a post-travel cocktail. The outdoor fire place seating is wonderful and big enough for a large group/family within view of the beach. Sit inside the dinning area decked with wonderful decor. The bartender was friendly and accommodating. He made us both excellent cocktails. We recommend this restaurant/ bar if you’re staying in or outside the hotel.

We were a party of 20 who had previously dined at Catch 31 during our last family vacation in May and it was a great experience each time. I have to give special mention and thanks to the manager on duty Sam Lincoln and our waitress, Samyra (sp). Although they were short on wait staff Sam was patient, professional and did his best to accommodate our party. We eneded up having to sit in different sections, however our waitress, Samyra and the wait staff serving the other table, were amazing! We will definitely be returning for our annual family get together and make sure that our friends, family and colleagues are aware of this gem in Virginia Beach.

This place is a little on the pricy side but the food is higher quality and worth the added cost. The service staff is very friendly and on this visit the food came out very fast. Menu items are said to be fresh caught and sides are seasonal so the options are a little limited in that regard. We typically visit this restaurant everytime we are in the area and it has been consistently good for years.

Had the house salad and clam chowder and it was really good. Tried the broccoli cheese soup originally and had to send it back, it was not very good and was mushy like baby food but the service was great and they let me exchange for the claim chowder.

This place is amazing!!! We started off with a wonderful waiter that new all about the menu and the fare. He gave us some good suggestions. We had the calamari, and some oysters to start, then for the main meal, swordfish, crab cakes, and filet. Every single bite of food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back and also recommending this place to friends and family.

Our server was awesome!! The meal was wonderful! We each had a different dish. After sharing, they were all incredible!! I had the blackened swordfish. It was perfectly cooked!! We had only one problem with our meal. The oysters weren't properly shucked. Half of the oysters were stuck in the shell and the other half had shell pieces in the oyster. Other than that the meal was perfect.

Catch 31 option of sitting indoors or outside, we chose outside lovely breeze off the ocean with views of the ocean as well. COVID19 distance seating masks required until you're seated. Drinks preserve relatively fast However our meal was a bit of a wait. However it was very hot and fresh when it finally arrived.

Our Food was so so. Fish was very greesy and undercooked. Chicken Ceasar salad was so drowned in dressing that it was soupy. The waiter forgot our head of the table not once, but twice. Lousy dinner for the cost. Would have done better at an oyster dive . Beautiful doesn't outweigh service and food quality. Won't be back.

I just love this place. A little pricey and limited menu at times, especially for me a non seafood eater that loves the atmosphere of a restaraunt with ocean views. But My food is always delicious and the red sangrias are perfect. I mostly love catch for the atmosphere, and location is perfect. I'll see you next week. :)

This place looked good and I looked it up on yelp it said number 4 place, decided to try it. Got 2 appetizers : baked oysters- disappointment and Shrimp stuffed hush puppie - this was very good. Dinner: Soup and Fish and chips. Soup was good fish and chips were ok - breading was sloppy and very think in some places. Entire meal was just above average for me. The bathrooms both men’s and women’s were destroyed. From sand in the sinks and floor to broken faucets and clogged bathrooms. If this place has such high traffic why don’t you clean the bathrooms on an hourly basis.

Nothing to complain about. Pretty pricey but food was totally worth it. Only thing I got a photo of was the fish and chips but all of it was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable and recommended a great drink and even gave me a great recommendation for a local distillery since I enjoyed the drink :)

This place is always amazing. The venue is right on the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic and next for is Neptune park which host several events throughout the year. This is my favorite entree. A Red Snapper fried whole. If you can get past the eyes deep fried staring at you and the fins and tail it makes fora pretty good meal and an attention grabber when it comes out of the kitchen💯💯💯 Either way great place to dine and even a date but only if you're really into the date,you can run up a Hell of a Bill in here trying to be cute🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄

After eating out in VB many times, this is arguably the best restaurant we’ve visited, but be advised, it is a splurge. Service by Ryan, a PT teacher by day and an impeccable waiter in our visit, was flawless. All dishes were expertly prepared, with the yellowtail being the best of four entrees. No fault could be found in the food. Patio seating was perfect and comfortable. $250 for four including a $70 bottle of wine was totally worth it for a 14-year anniversary. I would recommend and will return.

Service was quick, food was well presented and tasted fresh. All staff nice and professional. I would recommend if you’re up around 30th and looking for a nicer lunch or dinner on the beach.

The staff was energized and the manager took time to come to the table. Food was prepared exactly as ordered. It is pricey, however in this establishment you get more than what you pay for. We went to catch 31 on a girls night on vacation because our boys are wrestlers. Very beautiful restaurant, great for a date night or to have a great meal and the staff is awesome. We came back for a second night for the crab cakes! We loved our waiter Philip his personality is wonderful and he was very attentive. We will be coming back next year! Jackson was great! We were restaurant hopping along the boardwalk and Jackson provided the best attentive service out of all of them. The restaurant is very classy looking and was not busy when we had our military promotion reception there. The staff was friendly but we had to wait a fair amount of time for our food. Our party was roughly 12 but the place wasn't super busy. The menu is a little on the minimal side and unsure if there was a different menu than the one we had, but the selection wasn't robust. The food was delicious though. If you get the crab/spinach-artichoke dip you will need more chips as the dip potion is literally twice the size for the amount of chips they give you. The BLT isn’t bad but the bread is toasted which makes it hard & crunchy (not my preference). The fries (non sweet potato) are tasty and flavorful. My mule drink was delicious and even though I can't stand mint in my drinks, their mojito was fantastic. Their wine selection is decent but appears to be overpriced. All in all, I would go back and look forward to trying their dinner menu. Oh, I also feel really bad for the staff member that dropped the entire stack of plates and broke them. Hopefully he didn't get in trouble. It happens.

Food has really taken a turn for the worst since we came 1 year ago. Steamed mussels and claims were cold and chewy when served. Too much filler in the crab cakes. Spinach and artichoke dip was not refined at all, lumpy with too much bread crumbs on top. Our server was really nice but the food was mediocre at best for the high price tag.

Couldn't ask for better staff. Wish I could remember our waiters names. One was training and she was awesome but the one helping her out amazing you can tell he enjoys to make ppl happy. Our son's tea wasn't sweet so we asked to switch he said how about I sweeten it up and if you still don't like it I'll trade it out. Son loved it when he brought it back and you could tell that made the waiter happy. Food, atmosphere, and workers amazing... highly recommend.

Wow...great food. We are the filet mignon, shrimp and scallops and the Beachcomber and Salacia Burger. Great tasting food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bit of a wait, but that was okay...they text you when your table is ready. Spent time in the cooler evening breeze in the sandy beach while waiting. Great environment to relax.

Ate here about 4 years ago, 2017 and loved it. Swore we would return. Melt in the mouth food. Returned June 2021 and not as impressed. Food was good but not melt in your mouth good flavor. The menu has changed - smaller. To be a seafood restaurant and not serve calamari or mussels as an appetizer , not cool. We had the rockfish and Bronzini entrees, with a side of scallops. The included greens ( collards) were bitter. Potatos good. Scallops inconsistent sear. Our drink order was forgotten and we had to inquire about it. For the wait and price, not sure if I would eat there again. Most dinner entrees are around $37.

I went here on Christmas day, and it was the best. The fact that they were open was the first great thing. Their location, right on the beach, was the next. Then their pan-seared flounder, Snickertini and strawberry cake dessert topped the experience. Yummy food. We got the coconut shrimp as our entrees and it didn’t disappoint. The bar was backed up and it took 15min to get our specialty cocktails but they were good. The atmosphere was comforting and relaxing with an upscale feel to it. Why I gave it 4 Star? To me. The menu was kind of limited with food selection. Tried the Fish & Chip dish. As I am currently on my way back home from my vacation I had to sit and write a review on the awesome staff and food and total experience at Catch 31! I went twice this weekend and both experiences were beyond amazing. But the part that stood out the most beside my service and AMAZING food, was how attentive and helpful the management team was. I got a chance to speak with a manager by the name of Franny this weekend twice and she truly made my wife’s and i’s experience superb. From the beginning when we had to wait for our table we saw her moving around the restaurant helping EVERYONE, from other managers, hostes and servers. When we sat down outside because the wait for the table was longer than we found one outside. She cleaned off the table and brought us menus and water wayyyyy before the server even noticed or came to us. She was moving around cleaning and talking to every guest and not only that. But she was outside enjoying the music and just being a fun and friendly vibe to just see. She came and checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed because the servers were beyond busy. It was truly great to see as we own a restaurant in Iowa and have never seen a manager just be so helpful and happy at that. Booked another trip in august and will be coming back to this place. All around a great establishment. You pay for the good quality food, drinks, service! 100% recommend.

First time dinning here on vacation. Overall the food is ok i ordered salmon with roasted vegetables my wife ordered something called beachcomber. Presentation was nice staff was friendly great waitress. Just a lil noisy and limited food selection. The dining area does have a nice bar connected which explains the noise. The experience was nice it just gave me "The Hangover" and party time vibes. Not the place for a quiet romantic dinner.

This used to be a fantastic establishment with much better management. It started slipping even before the pandemic and has yet to exceed its former glory. My greatest disappointment about Catch 31 is their unwillingness to allow guests to make reservations. It's purely ridiculous and shows how out of touch the leadership is with the market for the area. It used to be a classy spot with a bar and it has increasingly become a bar that serves food. Not permitting reservations everyday, weekends too, will attract gullier bar hoppers versus well-tipping, well behaved patrons.

Service was a bit slow. The food was generally good, but both the crabcake entree and the crab topping on another plate were surprisingly, and disappointingly, lacking in flavor.

The hostess' did not greet us. This was our first visit (group of six, including children) and they looked to us as though we were in the wrong place-I will blame it on our "attire". We stood at the, "Wait to be seated" sign and they just looked at us from, I guess the hostess desk? Assuming we were to walk up to them without being called upon, we did. They just stared with this "look", so I decided to speak🤷🏾‍♀️. "Group of six?" So, I guess, for future reference, if you do not "look" as though you belong in an upscale restaurant, do not be caught off guard by not being greeted properly. However! The wait staff, chef's... everyone else seemed awesome and the tip left behind was considerably generous due to the waiter being superbly attentive, regardless of what the customer may look like. He treated us just like his other tables. That was greatly appreciated.

I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and its location. Service was good and pretty attentive but I think the bar was overwhelmed. Our drinks were watered down terribly from sitting out for too long before being picked up. The food was pretty good but again not as warm as I would have liked it. I had the blackened rockfish with succotash which was well seasoned. Portions were good though the fish and chips were comically over-sized. Don't order it unless you want leftovers have someone to share with. Come early if possible to ensure everything is fresh.

Had the buffet & it was ok, but there was chaos & a long wait while being seated, even though there were plenty of open tables. The morning maître d'hotel was incredibly rude & condescending to the other wait staff. She was sarcastic & treated the other young lady like she was stupid, all the while clicking her false nails on the countertop & rolling her eyes as the front desk became more crowded with customers waiting to be seated. Instead of actively doing something to help fix the situation, she continued to snipe at the poor girl. It was incredibly irritating to watch as a customer. She needs more training and a reminder on basic human civility. Other than that, the food was ok, but I'm not sure the buffet was worth $20. There was no juice...

Had to wait 45 min, no reservations taken here. We had snow crab legs that were fantastic followed by great entrees of crab cakes and tuna. So what was the rub. They close their kitchen at 9:59 on a Friday night! So we could not finish our meal with a dessert or coffee. Who closes service to sitting customers? A first for me. Sort of ruined what was an excellent meal. Waiter was apologetic but what does that matter, the manager in charge that night should get.the.boot for being just that dumb.

We have been here 4 or 5 times over the last several years. Each experience has successively declined. First visit had amazing service and fantastic food worthy of the price. The most recent visit this week was very disappointing. The bronzed tuna i had was good but considering the same old tired sides was hardly worth the price. My wife's fish was only ok. The service has also declined over the years too. It feels like they set up a great restaurant when it started and now are just going through the motions, raking in easy tourist money.

We ate at Catch 31 twice this week, food is decent but way overpriced for the quality, service is good, food came out quick. You will pay for the convenience of the place and the outdoor seeting with live music across.

We sat outside on the ocean side. The view was very nice and relaxing. The crabcake was excellent. The calamari was good but not the best. Sweet potato fries were great. The fried haddock sandwich had very fresh fish but way too heavy on the breading. The bun was very fresh. The service was great. I think that when you walk in the staff should point you to the host station and your entry should be friendlier.

My wife and I wandered into the bar at Catch 31 and the bartender, Ali, met is and said "Do you want to join me for a drink?" From them on my wife and I agreed that Ali was the best bartender we ever had. Personable. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Fun. And put a twist on my favorite Manhattan recipe. The seafood tower was delicious. The ambiance was perfect. Do yourself a favor - stop in and have a fabulous evening!

Great experience. Came for a drink before our scheduled vacation plans, ended up coming back for a later night hangout. My wife ordered a Mexican Mojito and loved it; I've never seen someone drink a Mojito as fast as a soda before. This is a really nice, casual seafood restaurant with a large cocktail list and really decent food menu. The food has always been high quality every time we have been there and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. The spinach artichoke dip is a must have, especially if you add lump crab meat to it. Delicious! We also highly recommend the fish tacos. They are made with blackened salmon and are absolutely delicious. The spicy chicken sandwich is also amazing. With a sweet hot sauce (it reminded me of hot sauce mixed with a whole lot of honey) and bread and butter pickles it is a winner for sure. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful and they are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant meal. Sam was our waitress last time we went and she was an absolute pleasure. She was willing to make sure that my family with celiac disease was able to eat gluten free (giving us corn tortilla chips instead of pita and gave us corn tortillas for the fish tacos as well). All in all I would definitely recommend Catch 31 to anyone looking for good, fresh food at reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere with great beach views.

Fish was fantastic. My wife’s steak was “meh.” Sides we’re pretty good but could have used a different veggie side with the fish. Rapini is just not tasty at all. Drinks were tasty and well priced. Only big negative (other than rapini) is the 2 hour wait to get a table. But that may be because of staff shortages during COVID. Also, our waiter never came back to our table. We wanted to order more drinks and never had a chance.

I would give Catch 31 5 star review. However, the host Ashley who seated us was rude and did nothing to accommodate our seating. She stated the booths were for larger parties. Five minutes later a party of two was seated. Our server mikalya was outstanding she tried to accommodate us but we stayed seated because we liked her service. The food was really good.

This is definitely not your typical sea food restaurant. The food was so amazing that i forgot all my manors and started stuffing my face. All the items my party had were definitely not for one person. Each entree could feed around two to three people. The drinks were a little pricey however they weren't weak at all. I would give them 5 stars but the prices were a little too high compared to other restaurants in the area.

Trevor was amazing, he was attentive, did a fantastic job of anticipating our needs, and the drinks were delicious. He even listened to my concerns and made me a “John Daly.” It hit the spot! Finally tried this place and had an okay experience. The host in charge of taking names and organizing seating was kind of rude, did not get off the iPad to greet us or take our name so we had to wait for another hostess to come up. Our waiter was nice and helpful, but very slow. We waited forever to place our order and get our check. They were also sold out of quite a few things as we tried to order a beer but only had one option, and we overheard other waiters telling people they were sold out of what they wanted to order as well. Food was presented beautifully but mediocre tasting for the price. Except for the crab cakes they were phenomenal. Beautiful restaurant though and beautiful view of ocean and boardwalk.

I’ve been here twice. Once for lunch and the second for dinner. Lunch was AMAZING! Service was awesome and so was the atmosphere (we sat outside). Dinner was a bit less amazing, but they were also super busy. The best things about Catch31: Super strong drinks (if you sit at the bar) ,tasty appetizers, and , their catch 31 crab cake and delicious bread. Our server, Phillip was also AMAZING and helped us with everything. I would recommend coming here when it’s less busy. They definitely dropped the ball in terms of service during dinner. There was a weird happy hour menu that advertised drinks specials that were only specific to hotel guests (which wasn’t stated) and none of the staff knew the true answer, only the manager. There was definitely a lag in receiving our food . I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad and my first batch of shrimp came out inedible (and gray) because they were over smoked. The rest of my party did enjoy their meal. And the catch 31 crab cake is the best crab cake I’ve ever had!

We are from Atlanta and come up on business twice a year. We'll definitely be back! It was a great change from the rat race and lame service we normally get in Atlanta. This place is super nice very upscale atmosphere but you don't have to go out of your way to dress up! My boyfriend and I are from out of town and decided to order 6 steamed oysters which were steamed to perfection and very flavorful, he had the swordfish and I had the lobster linguine with Caesar salads for both, everything came out very quickly and it tasted great! The service was PHENOMENAL Michaela P. was our server and I couldn't have asked for any better the owners should really consider giving her a raise because her politeness, positive attitude, and attentivness made the experience that much more rewarding. Keep up the great work, we will be back!

This is a mash up of two experiences. The first was brunch. They have an excellent brunch. The French toast is amazing. Incrusted with almonds. The omelettes are perfect. Their was live music. Everything is reasonably priced, but not cheap. The wait staff was on point. They were helping on each others tables, and very friendly. Problems included a door to the wait station kept blowing open and swinging into our table. Also, the waitress rung us up about $20 dollars over. It was a simple mistake that was corrected quickly. Also, the manager came out to apologize, and he was very nice. I would give them 5 stars for this, but they need to fix that door. The next experience was at night. The live music was great! The food is very expensive for what it is. Most dishes run over $20. I had the $14 dollar hamburger. It was good, but it was hard to get service in open seating outside. They were geared toward drinks, not food, but for a $14 dollar burger, one would think they would bring you ketchup for the fries, especially when you ask for it from the man who set the food in front of you. Also, when you ask for mustard for an up scale hamburger you get yellow mustard. That's the go to? That's pathetic. The burger was perfectly cooked. Kudos to the chefs, but the night wait staff is completely different. They didn't seem under staffed, but inappropriately staffed. There was only one waitress for my area, but multiple other people who were clearing tables, or delivering food. None of them were working together. If I asked for anything, they would just tell me they would get the one over burdened waitress. The staff was very disorganized and communication was not good. The waitress did not check on us as often as she should. The flow was off. Customers should be approached quickly upon sitting down, and checked on immediately after food is delivered. Neither was true. Again, we were in open seating, which operates more like a bar than the restaurant proper, but that doesn't make it an $8 burger. I would give this experience 3 stars for poor service and over priced food. The burger was one of the best I've had in a long time. I'm splitting the difference to 4 stars, but I would just hit the brunch. You can't go wrong with that.

Beautiful restaurant, the patio dining looks great overlooking the beach on nice days. For a random Tuesday the wait for a table was said to be 1 hour. Tip the bar area seating is a first come and not sat be the hostess. We got a seat in their immediately. It took another 10 minutes to get a server and menus. After ordering it took 30-40 minute for our food to get to the table, appetizers were much quicker. The food was very good and prepared well. 20% Gratuity was included on a 4 top with individual bills. I have never seen anything like that before. Which either tells me the slow kitchen costs the servers a lot of their tips, or our server who could not keep our drinks full is accustomed to being tipped out bad. Expect to pay $30-40 per plate with tip and no drinks.

Loved the food and the waiter who helped us. It was overall a good experience once we got to our table. The hostesses have a lot to learn about service. Not once did the hostess who helped us smile. We waited 35 minutes for a table, no problem on a Friday night, and needed to close out our tab at the bar. This hostess was visibly annoyed and responded to me with one word answers rather than being understanding and accommodating on our spending money at the bar.

I stopped for lunch to watch the World Cup game in the bar area. I had to wait just more than 20 minutes for fish and chips, but I wasn't in a rush so that was alright. Like many places, they were short staffed Saturday during the Neptune festival. We waited in line for a drink (4 people ahead of us) for nearly an hour. People sitting at the bar were repeatedly served as we and others in line were passed over. Once served, the soda water in the drinks was flat. For $60 and the wait time, we were disappointed. We decided to head down the boardwalk and enjoy the show.

We arrived at a very busy lunch time. There was around a 30 minute wait to eat outside or 20 minute wait to eat inside. We opted for the bar, which would seat immediately. There were 5 bartenders, 3 of which had attitudes and 2 who were extremely pleasant and helpful. It took a few minutes for someone to hand us a menu and take our drink order. I ordered a red sangria, which tasted like a generic red wine. No fruit in the cup, just an orange slice on the side. Wasn't worth the $6. Had the blackened tuna tacos which were awesome. Tuna cooked and seasoned perfectly, crisp cabbage, fresh cilantro, fresh avocado, and nicely paired with a mango salsa to cool off the spicy sauce. My friend ordered a wood-fired baked flatbread. That, too, was awesome. The bread was delicious, and a nice balance between soft and crispy. The cheese and tomato blended well with the balsamic sauce which wasn't overwhelming. The bill was rather high for a lunch meal. But the location is ideal, on the boardwalk, inside and outside seating, view of the Neptune statue, view of the water, contemporary decor. I would give the food a full 5 stars. The staff and prices is what brought down my rating.

The fish was haddock and it was a generous serving but it was very salty and fried until it was almost burnt. Very disappointed today. Hoping this was a fluke because it's a very nice place. Great ambience while eating around the outdoor firepit. All our food was delicious! My group enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip, the fish and chips, the filet mignon, and crab spinach artichoke dip. Our server was top notch and ensured the experience was safe and enjoyable. Be sure to make a reservation prior to arrival. We sat in the rocking chairs and listened to the music of a local artisan with the beach waves as we waited to be seated. It was just what we needed.

Absolutely fabulous! This waterfront restaurant has a great selection of food and drinks. It has a Modern, upscale ambiance with attentive servers. The seafood I have had has been outstanding. The outdoor fire pits are the best!! The bar area can be crowded in the evening and on weekends. You can see the boardwalk and ocean from most tables, and it’s amazing in warm weather. It is located in the Hilton, so there is valet parking for convenience. Overall it’s a great spot to experience the VB oceanfront.

We had dinner there Labor day Week while on Vacation and the Food and the Service were exceptional. I have sat at the inside and outside bars and on the patio and have received excellent service and good appetizers. The drinks are cold and the live music/view is on point. With that being said, I'm local and have stayed at this hotel many times but never had a good breakfast here, never even had good luck when ordering food periodt. It's always a long wait in between server visits, the food has come out cold and the bacon was limp. To top that off it was overpriced for how bad every visit was. I avoid this place like the plague when im hungry which is so sad because they have such a prime location. If I could rate inside and outside separately I would. Outside and bar areas are 5 stars, inside is a 3 at best.

Me and my girlfriend went for lunch and we very content and delighted with our experience. First and foremost, I want to give a shutout to our server, Machayla, who was absolutely phenomenal and even gave us suggestions and her own personal opinion on menu items which helped us narrow down our choices. She was very personable and friendly which made the experience that much better. The menu wasn't too overwhelming but does give a great selection of surf and turf options. I'm not sure if there is a more extensive menu for dinner/late night options. The food was fantastic, we ordered the Flash Fried "Hot" Calamari and Shrimp Cocktail and we were not disappointed. The presentation matched the quality of the food, which was amazing. For our entrees we had the Seafood Flatbread and the Steakhouse Burger. I definitely recommend both as they were equally delicious. The flatbread can easily feed two people, unless you're truly hungry. (We had to take half home.) I would also recommend you try their Equal Opportunity cocktail, absolutely delicious! I also had a chance to try the Boysenberry Gose they have on tap, it's a must try! Overall, a great experience from start to finish. Even better when you have a great server to solidify the whole experience! Will definitely go again soon!

Catch 31 always offers great ambience, great service and great food. I would go here any time. Inside is a little on the romantic side and is great for date night for romantically ambitious couples. Outside is great during summer months to enjoy the sights of the beachfront, and in the winter, the fire pits provide a nice warm hearth-side feel for cooler nights. Great drink menu, and staff are ALWAYS affable.

The view in that restaurant is splendid. The service is excellent as well. Our choice in the menu in contrary was disappointing. Coming from outside US gave us a different standard of food and this is not so good. We got a burger and fish and chips. If you're going to Virginia beach, please go to this restaurant, besides the amazing food (try the fish tacos or the chicken sandwich) they have lots of seats outside and beautiful decoration inside. Samuel, the manager, took very good care of us, and Elisabeth, the server was wonderful too. Great hospitality and over the top excellent customer service!

My brother and I recently dined at Catch 31. I was indecisive about my order, but my server Elyse made superb recommendations. We split a pound of steamed shrimp and the oysters Rockefeller, both were wonderful. She again guided me towards the Branzino dish for entree, which was fantastic. The meal and service was wonderful through and through. We will definitely be going back.

“location of the restaurant could not be perfect... right in the middle of boardwalk and scenic view of King's Neptune...Perfect” We were walking and looking for a nice restaurant to chill and we got more than we asked for. Drink/Sea breeze/Live Music/people walking by and YES, FIRE PIT...!! The food was good too but it was ambience/location and live Music which was its USP. We tried rainbow trout and 31 mixed grills. Both were well cooked and tasty. We enjoyed our meal here. definitely recommended...!!

We pulled up to park but no valet and after we self parked a distance away we spotted a parking garage above the shops across the street with same name : / Beautifully decorated but confusing to enter. No signs as "where to go" for restaurant in hotel lobby. After entering we were further confused. We approached the hostess desk and was told there were 2 different restaurants "Well, which one do you want?" Hostess had to go get the others menu so we could decide. We chose Catch 31. Seating, waitresses, atmosphere, bread, appitizer of Artichoke dip with crab option was awesome. Waitresses explained blue catfish is not muddy water catfish. So we opted for the fish & chips. Fried fish presentation seemed dark. It was due to skin on the bottom. Each of 2 very small portions were filled with super hot, watery, greasy soft textured fish. As soon as they cooled enough to eat the outer coating was mushy on inside. I scraped the bottom skin, coating, and dark meat off. The curly steak fries and coleslaw was very good. Price was high. We saw a large table enjoying a big meal together. They were having fun but I immediately noticed two guys were having difficulty cutting their steaks. More than half their party had to go boxes though.

Food is great, but you HAVE to request Atalie as a waitress. She is so knowledgeable about the menu and the seafood in season. Also, we basically followed all of her suggestions and had the best dinner and dessert with the perfect drinks to go with each. Atalie is the best, and you won't be disappointed.

Amazed by both service and food. We were checking out the menu and the manager Trudy happen to come by and convince us that Catch would not disappoint, and it didn’t. Seafood selection was phenomenal. The service was great. The staff was extremely friendly. We would highly recommend and will be back soon!

Service was good. I had the lobster MacNCheese. Serving portion was large however it was too salty, need to tone it down on the salt content. If it wasn't for that, it would have been perfect.

This Is my go-to restaurant in Virginia Beach. On the Boardwalk with great views. Also, there is outdoor seating on Neptune Park, where there is a gazebo with live music most every night in the summer. The food is also very good and seafood is fresh.

This place never disappoints. Perfect location, Live band and good drinks ! A star less as the patio serves only food from the raw bar, so my veg and non fish eating friends had no option but to have some fries. We could have hung out longer if there were more food options.

We love staying at this Hilton because it is on the ocean as front & the restaurant is nice. They normally have terrific service & food but today's service was not as good. My guess is given the pandemic, they are possibly understaffed & overwhelmed with customers. Prior visits were a wonderful experience.

We stopped in the Catch 31 bar for a mid day drink, and the place is very stunning. The ambiance is very impressive. A Coca Cola starts at $4 and it goes up from there. But we really enjoyed it being so upscale we felt it being a real treat to stop in. We walked to the restaurant as parking is pricey.

We come to Virginia Beach every year as my parents live here. We meet with other family here every year and always love it as our favorite location. Last night I went with my daughter and the menu outside is considerably shortened. I was having difficulty finding something.I was completely shocked to read the salmon at a seafood restaurant on the beach was farm raised! I'm not sure if people realize how bad that is for you? I just wanted some fresh seafood but not a full dinner. I settled on a crab cake over a salad. She said they would charge me 16 for the crab cake even though a crab cake sandwich was 12 on a sandwich to put on a salad but when the bill came they charged 10 for a small tiny salad and 18 for a small crab cake on it that was at least good tasting. The 1st Mojito I got was at the bar after I waited a long time because of the crowd. He charged me $12. When I sat to order the food the mojito was 10 on the menu. The 3rd mojito was charged 11 and mostly juice so I think they charge whatever they want if they can get away with it. The saving grace of course was the atmosphere and the amazing band which is worth sitting there but I will not eat their next time nor regimens m recommend . Also our waitress I recognized from 2 years ago was very sweet and excellent. I'm going to dig out my receipt to find her name. I always over tip as a former server regardless of the overall experience but I now don't recommend to my friends to eat dinner there but to stop for a drink. Probably the inside menu is better. Stars are for server and atmosphere.

Mixed results. Girlfriends tuna arrived to our table cold and her green beans seemed undercooked. For the price, the portions are small. My Mahi was served hot, back lacked flavor and of course the portion is small. The waitress Nikki was very personable and nice.

Catch 31 is situated just a few feet from the beach. They have fire pits in the tables! The wait staff especially our server Naan, she and her co servers were professional and cheerful. Most of all the food is superb! Thanks Naan!

I haven't reviewed anything in a while, so buckle in. I ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer and was pretty pleasantly surprised. It has a bit of a kick, and wasn't soggy or chewy. Also the tartar sauce was very good. I had the Shepard's cure to drink, and I have to say...it was like drinking a grapefruit. Not one of those fancy ruby red grapefruit, but the yellow kind your dad might have eaten on one of those grapefruit diets popular in the 90s. I ordered the Opah, which is supposed to come in a summer squash medley with a "roasted tomato sauce". I am not lying when I tell you it was not very different from a reduction of Campbell's tomato soup. The fish was completely raw on the inside. I sent it back and ordered the truffle lobster macaroni and cheese. There was nothin wrong with this dish, other than being 24 dollars for maybe 2 claws of meat in a bowl of pasta. The wait staff did a fine job, and the lobster mac came out suspiciously fast. This was the only time I have ever been served raw food where no apology was made. Covid verdict: Save your money. Buy some Gordon's fisherman fish sticks, some lump crab and a box of annie's macaroni and cheese.

Catch 31 never fails to provide the perfect atmosphere for any occasion! Whether your inside or outdoors, the decor and service is top notch. My most recent visit was made exceptionally enjoyable by the overall service staff at Catch. The bartender, Chris, recognized and addressed me as soon as I approached the bar. The restaurant and bar was full, but I was given the same friendly and prompt service that I have come to enjoy at this bar and specifically from Chris. We joined a fairly large group of friends at a table outdoors, and were approached by our waitress Hannah almost immediately. She remained attentive and friendly even though the entire staff was very busy. Although a few times there was a wait for drinks, our waitress along with other servers and management, made sure we were happy customers during the entire visit. Catch 31 remains one of my "go to" local spots for its amazing atmosphere, service and overall great time!

Nice experience dining at this restaurant. Waitress was awesome. Food was good. Loved the toss salad with house vinegarette dressing. She crab soup good, but needed more crab meat. Fish taco was good topped with fresh ingredients.

Catch 31 has a great ambiance in the evening the the staff was very friendly during our visit and the food was up to my expectations. My only complaints would be the portion size and weekend wait times, but that's to be expected near a popular tourist destination. The good news about the wait times is that they offer text message notifications when your table is ready, which gives you the freedom to relax near the beach or explore the local shops while you wait.

I loved this restaurant. At first I was cautious about eating there because of the bad reviews, but all my worries disappeared instantly the moment I walked into Catch 31. We were greeted by very friendly hostesses and told that we would have to wait about 30-40 minutes for a table to be ready. For some people that might be a huge problem, but we had nothing against it because the restaurant is conveniently located right near a public stage where we happily waited half an hour listening to great live music. Once we got a text message that our table was ready, we came in and were seated at a very cozy table. Our waiter, Nate, was absolutely wonderful. He constantly made sure that everything was ok and was very polite. We ordered our food and it came about 5-10 minutes later, which was very unexpected, since the restaurant was full. We ordered clam chowder and were very very satisfied. I also recommend getting the seafood tower. The price isn't outrageous at all, in fact, it was definitely worth it. The food was as fresh as it could be, the service was fantastic, the interior was very clean, neat, and cozy. Huuuuge shoutout to our waiter Nate, he made our experience extremely pleasant. My family absolutely loved Catch 31 and would DEFINITELY eat here again. Thank you so much!!

Love the ambient blue atmosphere. Food is good, service is good, but a bit pricey. There is 4 places to eat here, outside facing the beach, outside facing the 31st stage surrounding gas powered firepits, and of course the normal bar and seating inside. The fresh catch is very nice, I like it when they have salmon. Of course its an upper spectrum restaurant on the beach, so there is gonna be price gouging. Thanks Bruce Thompson.

A coworker who recently lived in Virginia Beach told me if this place as being a bit pricey, but worth it for a good seafood dish. Truth be told, I was not disappointed. The location is fantastic, filled with open spaces, lots of upscale restaurant decorations (e.g. beautiful chandeliers, gorgeous sculptures), and pleasant but unobtrusive music playing over the speakers. This particular week they were having a music fest in the park right next to the restaurant, so lots of local bands we're playing the to classic rock tunes of the past 50 years. Sitting outside we got a nice seat in the middle of the dining deck with a good view of the Neptune statue and the performing band. Our server, Sam, was extremely attentive, making sure we were comfortable, or glasses filled, and ensuring we were week taken care of. Our only hiccup came when time to deliver it food, as Sam had put our son's order in first to make sure we needn't wait. As can occur at times, something happens and our plates come out before our son's; his arrived 2 minutes later, with copious apologies from Sam. Tucking in, the food was expectedly great, but the coleslaw was unexpectedly delicious! I made sure to let them know because, as I've learned from experience, good coleslaw is a rare thing. The manager came out to make sure we were doing well and informed us that due to our son's plate coming out later that it would be comped, and offered us each a drink from the bar (I have to say, they make a great Sidecar). As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Catch 31 provided everything you expect at this price point and more! Give then a try for some good food, good times, and great service!

Nice atmosphere. Beautiful inside and out. My complaint is the Fish and hush puppies were almost burnt. Asked waitress what mixed vegetables do they have and she said zucchini and squash mixed, but I got green beans and carrots only and it was hard. Not sure if i will dine here again.

This past weekend we had a large family group stay at the Hilton while attending a family member's funeral. We spent a lot of time out on the patio @ Catch. 31 around the fire pit. It was extremely busy and quite understaffed. However, we had a wonderful young waiter Michael who was very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. He was friendly and we greatly appreciated his service. Thumbs Up Michael for staying on top of our large orders during Happy Hour and beyond.

So I can't believe I haven't done a review for this restaurant when I've been here well over a dozen times and they Deserve and have earned FIVE STARS. The Pros: location -at VB Oceanfront on the waterfront, clean and modern decor (think blues and beiges like the ocean and sand indoors), lively atmosphere and quality seafood! Live music or a DJ usually during peak summer months on Fridays and Saturday nights.

Excellent! The Mixed Grill was very flavorful! Perfectly well seasoned. A bit pricey for the portions but still worth it especially when you consider the atmosphere of being on the beach and seated at a fire pit.

Something to know beforehand, I work in the 31st strip and every time a tourist asks about where to eat for dinner, I always recommend Catch 31. It's close by, it's beautiful, and I heard so many good things about Catch 31, so why not? I want to set the background that I am a young adult that still looks like a teenager. I was bringing my cousins which are actually teenagers to this high end restaurant because I wanted to treat them; they were so ecstatic to go, but little did I realize that it wasn't what I was hoping to be. When you think about Catch 31, be prepared that the restaurant is near the beach, it's close to the hilltop strip, it's in a hotel, and the interior is amazing, so do not expect mid-range prices. The restaurant is very beautiful at night. I love the outdoor seating and the open fire table, the underwater like theme, the blue and white theme also, and the booth seats. This place is very loud, so do not expect quiet unless you come during the dead winter. Now, onto the bashing part. First of all, the waiter, it was an older gentleman who did neither frown or smile when my party was seated or during the whole time we were there actually. Okay, not the whole time, but he only made one joke, but still. You don't have to be full on smiling, but please show that you have an interest in us by asking, "How are you this fine evening? Can I recommend something?" Our waiter was dull and most likely had no respect for my party. I felt like an elephant in a small room. He gave my table 10-15 minutes to choose our dinner and then we had to wait another 30 minutes for our dinner entree to arrive, and by the time our check and dessert arrived, it's almost been three hours since my party sat down. Three hours... and it wasn't even that busy! I came around 8:00pm during the opening of busy season for tourists to come. For my appetizers, I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and the Calamari. Both are very delicious and I highly recommend these two appetizers. Also, I had the Clam Chowder Soup because my coworker recommend that also, and yes I also highly recommend the Clam Chowder Soup. For our dinner entrees, I had the Chicken Gorgonzola and it was dry. I think after multiple bad experiences with chicken and restaurants, I do not recommend ever eating chicken from restaurants ever again unless it's fried or covered in sauce. For dessert, we had a hard as a rock ice cream chocolate ball (?) cake? I honestly do not remember what it was called, but that was a huge disappointment when the ice cream was so hard that I practically smashed the plate underneath trying to pierce the cake. So, after two appetizers, three dinner entrees, and one dessert, the bill came down to around $100 + $tip. Not so bad when it comes to a high end restaurant, but the overall experience, not worth the money. To wrap this long review up, depending on who waits and the entree, it might be worth it. Both the exterior and interior appearance is very beautiful and nice, but not a good place to relax. It's more like a place to host a party. Would I eat here again? I'm willing to give Catch 31 a chance again because I have high hopes, but if another bad experience comes up in the future, consider Catch 31 a recommendation for certain entrees, but not anything else.

Great experience here as always, for a starter get the seafood flatbread. For the main course we always get the fresh whole fish. The fish is very tasty, get it blackened or grilled. Staff is very courteous and if there's any issue, they'll take care of you.

Food was very good,service very attentive, I recommend the Rock fish bronze. The bathrooms were totally disgusting. Especially for a higher end restaurant. Discussed with manager and he was very dismissive and said it was a "public" bathroom for the hotel, seriously, you have to walk into the restaurant to use it. Lack of attention to the cleanliness!
