We saw Bro’s Fish Tacos last time we were in town and I added it to my list of places we needed to try. I was intrigued that it was originally a food truck first and their pictures of the tacos looked amazing. Let’s just say the pictures matched the food quality too! Everything was yummy and we left feeling stuffed!

I've been coming here for over a year now and it is by far my favorite place to get a fish taco! I recommend the "shrimpin ain't easy", "The Truth" (which is fried flounder) and of course their Cobia and Mahi tacos are great too! Every taco I've had here has been delicious!

Ok it’s a 5 for me just for having a dedicated place for fish tacos! But, my Truth fried fish tacos were like a 4 overall for me. The fish didn’t taste fresh and the batter was too thick. It was like the fish was battered and frozen and then re-battered and fried. I think I could easily replicate the Truth taco at home by buying frozen fish from Costco and cooking it in the oven. However, the habanero cream sauce was excellent! Just ask for an extra side though to help combat all that extra batter. I will say I’ll be back to try the grilled ones, but only on Sunday when Gringos Taqueria is closed which for me has set the 5 star standard of fish tacos!

From beginning to end the staff at BROs Fish Tacos was super nice and we felt welcomed. The restaurant is casual and gives the vibe of a cool taco truck with indoor seating. The tacos were Amazing and they had alcohol beverages.( I had soda ). The space was clean and well maintained. I will definitely return for more!

Very nice and attentive service! The food was absolutely delicious we got the Truth taco and the Alaskan pollock. Their beer batter fries and dill and chipotle sauce were delicious as well! We didn’t even wait over 10 minutes for our food to come out hot and fresh. Overall was an excellent experience and good priced food :)

Stopped by for a quick last minute lunch and it was a great choice! Was pretty busy when I arrived, but the staff was incredibly friendly and service was still very quick despite the crowd. I got the shrimp taco and Mahi taco both with chipotle garlic sauce and they were amazing. The flavor of both were great, but I especially loved the mahi. Price for the tacos was reasonable and they weren’t overstuffed, but still had fish in every bite. I also got a side of cilantro lime rice which had great flavor, but is made with a dry rice. If you want a quick bite and amazing quality I highly recommend stopping by.

The Nachos I had back in November 20 were delicious. They were quite nice, but a bit disorganized which was understandable for the time. I loved the outdoor seating though and it was overall a good meal.

These are the best fish tacos by far in Virginia. We love the flounder, the tuna and the Mahi tacos, we usually order the fries with nachos sauce... it is awesome! I think this is a must visit place for all out-towners. It is only 10-15 min away from the Oceanfront and no more than 5-10 min away from town center. Prices are OK, I may say completely affordable. We visit this place at least once a month. Keep up the good job!

Amazing place!! Hard to order thru a mask, BUT the food...👌 MUAH!!! I got the Truth taco, a Beer battered fish (flounder? Sorry I didn't grab a menu otw out), with black beans, cilantro lime rice, and cheese added (roughly .25-.50 cent increase), and I added the garlic sauce. OMG, was this taco great!!! Fresh tomatoes, onions, lettuce, just phenom!!! My husband and son had the Ground and Pound with cheese added. I didn't get a chance to take a pic of my son's taco. GONE IN 50 secs!! Oh, I got street corn (finally, AUTHENTIC, street corn), and my husband LOVED it; and he HATES mayo with a passion. We also got some chips, and a Margarita (cuz ya know). Overall, I'd come back a MILLION times!!! They have GREAT food here, wonderful customer service, and the decor of the restaurant (no pics sorry) was a beachy, dreamy, "I'm on a beach, but not VB, and that's cool cuz Margaritas". I hate I moved outta VB, cuz I'd be there daily. Sorry, not sorry for the long review. Go get some tacos!! **Obvi that one pic: not a street taco-maze corn?? Idk.**

We liked them when they were a food truck, so I was excited to learn they are now in a location that we can visit whenever we want to. The fish is freshly fried, super crispy and tasty. The fries are real good, too.

The Truth taco is meh (too much batter=too greasy). You feel like you eat a taco with grease 😂. However the grilled mahi taco was very very good. The French fries with chipotle sauce are divine ! The service and the people are wonderful. They also have chicken or pulled pork taco if you are not a fish eater. We shall come back.

I go here all the time because going to the West Coast is too time-consuming and expensive. It's pretty legit LoCal/SoCal/Baja style tacos. It's not East Coast seafood. Wear flip flops with a surfing shirt, and wish you weren't stuck in Virginia for max enjoyment.

Classic food truck tacos 🌮 in a cozy and hip restaurant setting. The small menu focuses on tacos (duh) and local craft beer. Been here several times and you can’t go wrong. Get a bowl to go - it’s a ton of fresh food. Or pull a stool up to the bar and sample the rotating craft beer selection. Friendly quick service. Clean inside. We go back again and again !

My boyfriend had two fried flounder tacos and I had one tuna and one shredded pork taco. We also shared an order of chips and queso. Everything was absolutely delicious! They have a little bar in the back with four tv screens, if I remember correctly. Such a cool little place. We will definitely be back!

I tried "The Truth" with Chipotle Garlic sauce that comes with shredded cabbage, sweet cherry tomatoes, and pico de gallo and beer battered flounder. I have to say this is one of the best tacos I've had by far and for the price it's amazing. My parents and I shared the churro donuts with ice cream and it was amazing. Nice crispy donut covered in cinnamon, with sugar glaze drizzled over it and some vanilla ice cream on the side. For the taste and the price you can't beat this. Great family owned restaurant.

Ate lunch here on a Thursday. Had a variety of tacos - fried and grilled fish, shrimp. All were packed with seafood, super fresh and super flavorful. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

This is fish tacos done right, where the fish is the center stage, a simple slaw with cilantro, cherry tomatoes and flavorsome sauces round out the fish taco selection beautifully. Bros fish tacos has a simple menu expertly done. It takes one back to the other side of the boarder where street vendors wow your taste buds. Definitely hit this place up if your in the market for good food, full bar and the best sweet churros to round out your meal.

My go to place for when I'm not keen on cooking dinner. They have a variety of craft beers in bottles and cans and a few on tap that you can test yourself to while you wait for your food to come out from the kitchen. My favorite menu item is the tuna nachos with chipotle sauce. It's loaded with black beans, chopped grape tomatoes, white nacho cheese sauce, and blackened tuna. For me it's the best bang for my buck.

Can't say enough good things about Bro's Fish Taco, I'm ashamed of myself for not coming to the physical location earlier. I first tried them at a live event when they were serving out of a truck and was blown over by the solid flavor and taste of their fish tacos but that was years ago. Yesterday my brother in law, who just moved to Virginia Beach asked if there was a place for good fish tacos and it hit me. I knew they had opened a physical location so I didn't hesitate and boy was I on the money. Great friendly staff with an extensive beverage menu and most importantly the tacos were spot on. I went in hard and my wife got on my case about ordering 4 tacos just for myself (they're on 6inch tortillas) and I told her she didn't get how good these were and reminded her how much I can put away when the food is this good. I had "the truth", the shrimp and the cod. Here's the thing, most fish tacos places skimp on the actual fish and load up the tortilla with goat food and gloopy sauce, not at Bro's! You'll get huge chunks of fish that are seasoned perfectly that will come through even with the slaw and they have multiple sauces that you can choose from. And all of this is topped off with very reasonable prices and a simple menu that is only focused on one thing, fish tacos! So what are you waiting for?

The fish tacos here a so yummy! This is my favorite place for fish tacos! Last time tried the garlic chipotle sauce which is so good. This time had the dill sauce which was also yummy. I didn’t ask but add some cilantro to it and it would be even more yummy!! The prices are also really good. Good size tacos, worth the money! The staff are always cheerful and helpful!! The art in there is also so beautiful!

This was a really nice discovery with simple, reasonably priced, tasty food, for both children and adults. We had shrimp nachos with plenty of shrimp and cheese which were great for sharing. All the tacos and nachos come with really tasty, freshly made salsa. There are a number of seafood options - shrimp, tuna, pollock - as well as pork, beef and chicken. As well as food there is a wide variety of beer options too. The restaurant is pretty spacious and has a nice outdoor seating area too.

A really good place to pick up tacos. They have several options for meat, including different fish, along with shrimp and meat. They combine that with a various sauce if your choice. This is served in flour or corn tortillas with slices cabbage and tomatoes. I'd a good lunch or dinner. Definitely casual/ fast food.

What a find in Va Beach! We visit the area about 4 times a year and haven't stumbled across Bro's Fish Tacos until recently. We had a group of 4, so we got to try a variety of menu items (The Truth, Neptuna, Ground & Pound, shrimp nachos, queso, and cinnamon churro donuts). The hands down favorites were The Truth taco and the cinnamon churro donuts. The Truth is the beer battered flounder taco (best with either classic dill sauce or chipotle garlic). Two of these would definitely make a meal, especially if splitting an order of donuts for dessert with someone.

I ordered the Mahi fish taco and the fish was overcooked and not fresh. I went on May 31st. The fish had a fishy taste, very dry. I was disappointed because the last time I went the owner was there and everything was perfect. Then the cook forgot to bring me my chips. There was no one there but me? What’s the problem?

I recently built a fence for the owner. Not only did he pay well and on time for the new fence, he also gave me a nice gift card to Bros fish tacos. My family and I just feasted on the most delicious variety of fish tacos! Best fish Tacos in the area! Big fat Tacos too, nothing like the little street tacos you can get at other places for the same price. Didn't care for the blackened Mahi, a bit too salty. Shrimp taco is the best! The habanero sauce isn't spicy but it is tasty. Recommend dill sauce for the fried fish taco. Amazing food, will come back here as often as possible!

Do you like fine dining and over priced meals? Well this isnt the restaraunt for you! If you like great food, fast service, and a low key atmosphere then you don't want to skip this place. As I sit here eating my "Truth" taco, with crispy flounder and the best dill sauce this side of the Mississippi, I cant help but type the truth that is Bros Fish Tacos. Great prices and even better food. If you like fish tacos, you cant afford to miss out on this local gem!

A small restaurant with "Baja" style fish tacos, even though corn tortillas need to be specified. A simple menu with fast service, but the different sauces that they generously put on the tacos are unique and very good. If you're visiting the Oceanfront, it's only about a 10 min trip and off the main blvd. Local "mom and pop" so it's definitely worth supporting.

Oh my goodness this is one of the best fish taco places I have ever been. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. The cod was crunchy and not greasy. They said it would take 6-7 min and they delivered freshly cooked tacos. The blackened fish had a little too much spices for me. The customer service is outstanding. The folks are very happy and pleasant and they were happy to have me there.

A friend had picked up a bunch of tacos, shrimp, mahi, cod and flounder for a few of us to try. I'm not particularly fond of fish (love shellfish). I enjoyed the shrimp and founder. The other two were just not my thing. The sauces really could be ramped up with flavor, all were very bland.

I had tuna tacos and they were good - tuna cooked properly but a bit under seasoned. They sauces were needed (and they were good). I would expect a place called Bro's FISH tacos to have more varieties of fish available. They have a nice option of getting your tuna in a bowl instead of traditional style tacos which was very nice. I will go back but if the owner reads this - more varieties of fish would be great. The fish taco places in CA usually have at least six or seven types of fish available.

I want to preface with how awesome the staff and decor are. The staff was great! The server/cashier brought my kids extra juices and the cook asked how everything was. They all told us bye as we left. The decor is great. I love how they sell the art on the walls. All that said, the food was just okay. My son's fish was either raw or super greasy. I can't figure out which. It was also very fishy smelling and tasting. My fish taco was a bit bland. The favorite sauce didn't have much flavor and there seemed to be no flavor of cilantro. I am going to say that it could have been an off day or even that it could have been a taste preference thing...who knows. I would like to try them again and see just to make sure.

Stopped into Bro's Fish Tacos on a Saturday afternoon, with 3 women. It was clean, the staff was wonderful! We all ordered something different. We got our food pretty quickly, we all agreed the food was wonderful. The relaxed atmosphere was a pleasure to be able to chat and just kick back over our meals. I had a bowl with tuna steak, others had an avocado bowl with shrimp, she raved about it. One friend had fish tacos that she loved, and my daughter had a shrimp bowl which she enjoyed. We will find our way back to Bros!!

Husband and I had The Truth and Shrimpin' Ain't Easy (appreciate the attention to grammar here as an English teacher). Delectable. We would just suggest a little more equality in the flounder to breading ratio and smaller flounder pieces so you can get equal bites of flounder and toppings in one delicious bite. Best fries ever. Friendly, welcoming service. Cleanliness was definitely high on their priorities. Love.

The food was very good and the cashier knew exactly what he was talking about. My boyfriend asked what sauces he recommended for the 3 different tacos he ordered and without missing a beat the cashier told him what the popular choices for the tacos he order were. The street corn was amazing and the beer battered fries were really good. The only complaint I have was I didn’t realize everything came with tomatoes on it but it wasn’t nothing I couldn’t scrape off. They boyfriend had shrimp Cod and Tuna and liked them all. I don’t like seafood so I had the carnitas and it was very good!!!

We had Bro’s Fish Tacos for the first time today. We were lucky enough to have the food truck in our neighborhood this evening in Point O’ Woods. I am typically not a flounder lover and prefer Cod in my fish tacos. The fish was perfect! Nice balance of fish to batter. A great crunch to the outside, with a flaky inside. They had the perfect taste and a slight pop of salt to enhance the flavor. Well Done! We will definitely be placing future orders at the restaurant.

Went here for the first time yesterday, and it was amazing! I had the truth taco and margaritas. The margarita was the best tasting one I have ever had and the flavor combination of the taco was to die for. I ended up getting another order of tacos for lunch and they were still amazing even after being reheated. I will definitely be eating here more often!

Absolutely delicious. All the food is great but I really like the shrimp tacos with the garlic based sauce. I'm not a fan of pico normally but the way they have been making it here goes so well with the taco I actually enjoy it. Only time I eat pico on anything is at this place. So good. Their rewards program is also pretty slick.

Hands down, the best fish taco experience to be had in Virginia Beach. We ordered guacamole and tuna tacos, which were delicious. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I hope to return!

This place is awesome!! Possibly the best fish tacos on the east coast! Very friendly atmosphere in the same style as some of the local breweries. The staff is polite and the service is fast. They have a surprising selection of local beer and really cool canned wine that is much better tasting than expected. I have been 3 times already for lunch and dinner. I stayed to just to chill and watch the game! Try the "Truth" taco. Spot on!

BEST TACOS IN VIRGINIA BEACH! I could rave about Bro's for days.. but I'll try to keep this short. I've always loved coming here with friends and family and the food is always so flavorful and filling and their prices are always extremely resonable for the portion size you are given. My favorite items on their menu are "The Neptuna and The Truth" tacos(pictured)..which come with 1 of their 4 sauces that you chose from. Definitely give them a try next time you're out and about!

Not even question the best fish tacos I've had in a long time, maybe ever. Their menu is exactly what you would expect in terms of variety with a couple rotating items occasionally. Not too much sauce or cabbage and well proportioned and priced. On top of having a rotating beer selection, it's a fantastic lunch spot for travelers and locals.

Two stars for the taco and all four for service, speed and cleanliness. A little pricey if you ask me but they have a nice build out to pay for. Got the "Good Cod almighty" it was "good" not great and what holds me back is the only offering of a flour tortilla, i am accustomed to fish tacos in corn tortillas and feel that flavor is necessary to truly transport me back to Mexico i also felt the fish portion could have been a little more generous. They are growing and going from a truck to brick and mortar has it's challenges so for as much as i am more inclined to 3 stars over all the fourth is certainly for the CLEANLINESS of the establishment (did i mention i am a multi decade veteran of the foodservice business along with being a former instructor and proctor for the NRAEF ServSafe® program?). i have a vision of seeing those bay doors open on a breezy spring day and having a great snackmeal...maybe offer the option to "double" the protein in the taco? I'll go back. You should go too! UPDATE 8-18-22 Was going to order online but as far as i can tell a 15% gratuity is mandatory, i didn't get all the way through the check out process as that's a major turn off for me. When did we start being o.k. with businesses charging more than what's written on the menu as a "gratuity" especially when all you have to do is put it in a bag, i'm not going to sit at your table, i am probably not even going to use your bathroom and you insist on ME helping pay YOUR employees more? This would sting a little less if i weren't already paying 15% for the local tax payer punishment of living in (or the location being in) Virginia Beach. Not a good practice. I may go back in person having then control over how much i tip but i won't order online....argh which is even that much more convenient for them. I get it websites cost money but build it into your price, it's part of the cost of doing business leaving a bad taste in my mouth before i even have your food in hand. Bummer.

My husband is from San Diego and these are the closest to California fish tacos we have found. We loved following the food truck around and were so excited to find they opened a restaurant, we gladly drive 30 minutes to get our taco fix regularly. Which was worth it, but now having a brick and mortar is way better. It's also not a bad place to watch the game.

This place is my new favorite place for fish tacos. I don't typically like comparing restaurants, but these guys are like the Five guys of fish tacos. They started as a food truck and their success led them to buy a store front. That's all they do are fish tacos and they're good at it. (I think they also have a pulled pork taco also). I came in hungry and ready to eat. You pick the type of fish you want and the sauce you want to go with it... done. About 5 minutes later you're served. The cashier recommended I started with 2 tacos and fries and go from there and she was right. I can put food away when I'm hungry (I'm a bigger guy.. 6'2" 230 and was considering getting three) but that was enough to fill me up for a lunch. I've brought friends here and they have never been disappointed. If you like fish tacos this will be added to your new spot. Try them. You'll love them.. And bring friends. If you're not sure what to get on your first visit go for the Truth (lightly battered flounder.. SO GOOD!)

The chipotle garlic is a nice pair for a bit of spice and my favorite sauce option. The location is a nice spot with roll up doors which will be great in the summer. I had the truth and Good Cod Almighty tacos, the fries with the queso, and a churro donut. I don’t know what y’all have going in there but please never change. Super delicious food. (-2) stars for the service. I've ordered in person before and that particular day, the young guy inside seemed less than thrilled to take my order. My second order ever was today, through Doordash. I ordered the Truth (flounder taco) + Shrimpin' Ain't Easy (shrimp taco). These tacos are nearly $5 a piece and I somehow got a tuna taco instead of the shrimp taco I ordered. I don't know how you mess this up, but I get it....things happen. However, when I called the restaurant, the kid who answered the phone didn't care to try to make things right or rectify it in some way on their end. Doordash gave me $2.76 credit on a $25 order and the taco itself was $4.00-4.50. That's half a taco. I honestly never felt very welcome here. I'm disappointed because the food is good, but not worth the money if the service is lifeless. Might want to have the employees do something fun or give a good pep talk on treating everyone who walks in the door like they matter!!!

I wanted something that was popular and what they were known for. The gentleman that helped me told me that "The Truth" is one of their most popular choices. Talk about the colors on this baja style taco from Bro’s Fish Tacos | “The Truth” is one of their most popular tacos that contains crisp lightly beer batter flounder. It’s topped with freshly cut cabbage and homemade pico de gallo. To top it off, I asked for their famous house sauce, the sweet cinnamon chipotle to will have your taste buds wanting more. Extra add ons were available, however I wanted to keep it simple. However, next time, I'm adding the extraaaaas! I hope to find this truck again!

The much anticipated opening of Bro's Fish Tacos on day one after a soft opening the previous week. No longer just a food truck, but a brick & mortar location off Virgina Beach Boulevard. Think of this review as a "first", not an update to their established food truck. Yelp will not separate the two categories. I have been a fan of Bro's for years and was thrilled to hear they were jumping into a permanent spot, but maintaining their popular food truck business. The location just off East VB Blvd is excellent in an area lacking. The signage cannot quite be seen off the main road. Parking is most likely adequate. I found some debris in the lot. There was nice thought given to the design with two retractable garage doors to bring fresh air in. Concrete floors run throughout. A few TV's for your sporting pleasure on Sunday Funday football and a small bar with taps. Bottle beer is also available. Seating is by table and chairs. Everything was clean. A unisex restroom is in the rear. I found it overall clean with proper supplies. An exhaust vent on the ceiling needs wiped off. My order...The Truth / beer battered Flounder. Shrimpin Ain't Easy bowl. Chips & Queso. Paired w/ a Hardywood BlackBerry brew. Darn good and pricing on point. The Queso is notable. The menu is an introductory one, so look for much more to be rolled out in coming weeks and months. Thank you to owners Jacob & Elyse. As well as the staff for a nice visit and lunch. This is a fantastic addition to the local fast casual scene in Virginia Beach. Bro's now have you covered with a physical space to enjoy yummy tacos.
