We have a group of seven but asked to sit separate and it looks like a Covid protocol🤔 we have chicken fajita, enchiladas and burritos. Food taste good and server was awesome. She asked to try Victoria beer and taste better than popular Mex beers. Unlimited Chip and salsa was good too. We will visit again 👍👍👍👍👎🏿

Really nice spot downtown by the University - probably the cheapest place with the best quality. The service is sparse at times, but the kitchen is really fast, which is all that matters if they make great food. Good prices, decent portions.. a definite stop when you are not looking to drop $30 a head, but still have good food.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon and had a short wait, but the wait can get long during peak hours. We got the house margarita which was a bit disappointing as it tasted like it was made with store-bought margarita mix, and was too cloying for my taste. I got El Rey burrito which was just okay. The staff was friendly and ambiance was nice. The food taste and quality was acceptable but could be better.

Fun atmosphere. I tried the El Rey burrito because of the uniqueness of it, and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the cantina nachos and street corner tacos. Yuuum. The only thing that could be better is making the restaurant a little more kid friendly. They don’t have a kids menu, and my 2 year old was given her water in a glass. There was also hardly any room for our stroller where we sat. BUT overall, the experience was great.

Absolutely love this place, great authentic Mexican food and I know raised in San Antonio so I know good Mexican food. I can come here three times a week and be satisfied. Only suggestion is need some breakfast tacos plz.

This place was okay. Im conflicted on if i should give 3 or 4 stars. The atmosphere is great, the drinks were strong, the staff was helpful. But the food was bland. I would never expect to get bland food from a Mexican restaurant they seemed to use hardly any seasoning or spice. We tried the flautas, street corn, tacos (shrimp, pastor, and fish) and they were all bland. The only good thing was the quesadilla, Not sure if i went on a bad day but i sadly wouldn’t return. If your coming for drinks with friends this is a good spot but if your hungry go ahead and skip this place.

We were a group of 6 people and we were looking for a Mexican restaurant for Saturday night dinner. We searched near us and by seeing the reviews we decided to have dinner at Urban Cantina. It is a small restaurant in Tampa downtown with a nice decor. When we went to the restaurant it was full being a Saturday night and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes before we were seated. Once seated we were greeted by our server Meztly with the menus. By exploring the drinks menu first we decided to order Mezcalita, Classic Margarita and La Tina. We got our drinks in 10 minutes. All the 3 drinks that we ordered were amazing and it made our day as they have open bar and provides different drinks. Then we ordered the food from the food menu which included the combination of tacos, Cantina Nachos, Street Corn, Cantina Bowl, Tostada Salad and Churros. First we got Street Corn. The street corn was delicious and it was perfectly cooked with good amount of spices. Then we got our Tacos. The Tacos were good and perfectly cooked with the ingredients. Then we had our Cantina Nachos, Cantina Bowl and Tostada Salad. The Nachos were good. The salad was also delicious with fresh ingredients and spice. The Cantina Bowl was delicious with amazing ingredients. Then we got our Nachos which made our day with the desert. Amazing desert to end the day. Definitely try the Urban Cantina in the downtown of Tampa.

Food was pretty good. Only had one bartender and one wait person looking after a full dining room and full bar. I guess it's hard to find staff these days but i really should have just ordered my meal for pickup. Probably would try other places before ever coming back.

Good flavored tacos! The location is a little small and crowded but the food is great. I tried a few things on this menu and everything was full of flavor. The Ceviche is really fresh and tasty, the tacos is yummy, the meat is good quality, none of that chewy stuff and the dessert is a must try! Of course I had the churro and ice cream. Tell them Michelle sent ya ! Enjoy

We visited Urban Cantina while attending an event in Tampa and it was really good! We got the street corn, asada fries, chimichanga, fajitas, quesadilla, and some margaritas. All of it was great! The place is small so expect a wait for dinner but totally worth it.

We were so lucky to get a recommendation to go check out downtown tampa for food experiences! And our first stop was this cantina! We were there with kids, and everyone of us loved it, both the food and the urban decoration, also the staff had an edge! What’s not to like 🙌🏼 We had a share meal with tacos, quesadillas and nachos! 🌮

Really great. Came here after the Aquarium. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is very well done and clean. The food was very good. Liked the smooth white queso and salsa. Their Cantina bowl was really good, as was the traditional chicken enchiladas. Left very happy. Love to come back sometime.

Second time here. Food was again mediocre. Nothing bad, just not flavorful. But the server was horrible! 15 minutes to be greeted. Place wasn't busy. Unsmiling, dude. Gruff. Just sort of dumped our food on the table and walked away. No questions. There's no salt on the tables and I tried to catch his attention for about 10.minutes as he stood behind the bar looking at his phone. He didn't come back to see if everything was OK until I finally caught him walking by. This place looks cool and has a good vibe. But they have got to get some better people in there!

This was my first time here since I'm from Orlando. The El Rey burrito I had was a good portion, hot, fresh and seasoned well. The shrimp was large, the steak was chopped, tender, and I loved the fries on the inside with the sauce. I had mine without guac so I don't know how it would taste with it. Parking at the meter is free on Sundays before 2pm and I believe around $2 per hr. I'm not sure how much the other parking areas are. Overall, if I traveled to Tampa again, I would stop by and try something else off the menu

We got a Variety of Tacos and I even got the Fajitas. It's my Favorite dish hands down. Again, Not much Flavor? On Vacation in Florida and several places with no Flavor. Environment and Atmosphere is Awesome but I came here to Eat..... Not Bad if u want a Bar with Appetizers. etc. Chips and Salsa and Cheese Dips wasn't Bad!

Fresh ingredients, friendly service, reasonable price for a downtown restaurant. The place is a little small for 6 or more guests but if you are lucky you will be able to sit together. Only reason I gave one less star is because the flavor was missing; found it on the bland side for a Mexican style cuisine.

The food was amazing, and portions were generous. They accommodated our family of six (kids ages 4 to 10) easily, and were attentive to the table when we needed refills and more salsa. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Me and my sister hopped around a 4 mexican restaurants in the city looking for a good margarita and this was definitely the place we should've come from the beginning. Vegas makes the BEST margarita. I'm a mean margarita drinker (that's mostly all I drink) and this is one of the absolute best spicy margarita we've ever tasted. Try it, you'll see what I mean.

This place was totally legit. Great atmosphere with all sorts of Mexican items and decorations, including wrestling masks and many wrestling rings. Of course, the food was tremendous and the staff look after you very well

Summary: quality food, decent service. The mole and flan stood out. Details: Food - Chicken Mole taco, FLAN!!! and house margarita - Mole sauce was outstanding - perfect balance of spices and sweetness, you can taste the cocoa, and it stays savory more than sweet. Didn't overwhelm the chicken. - chicken was ok, bordering on dry and little flavor. Believe it was shredded breast, I prefer dark meat with mole - margarita - small and overpriced, flavor was good though. - FLAN!!! Very tasty flan - like the mole, it was a balance, where the carmel sauce at the bottom was the sweet part - the light custard of the flan complimented the creamy yet firm texture. Loved it. Service - super kind, and very attentive when available - though she clearly had too much to cover. timing was late for most things. understand that staffing is tough these days - and it was the boat parade that night, several thousand people, so they got swamped. All staff were fully masked.

Arguably the best Mexican food in the city of tampa, blows away Grande Hacienda near Westchase and even has employees that used to work at Senor Tequila in westchase. The only thing I was discouraged about was that they did not have refills on diet soda but the prices made up for it. Highly recommend for you to go here if you are in Hillsborough county. If there is better, I just have not found it yet or heard of it.

First time visiting for lunch and I enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken enchiladas which were surprisingly delicious. The salsa was very flavorful but could've been spicier in my opinion, and you have to order it. It doesn't come free with your order like normal in a Mexican restaurant. The service left something to be desired however my food came out pretty quick. I dined in on a Tuesday afternoon during busy lunch hour and was in/out in under a hour. Overall I give it 4 stars. Will definitely visit again...

Wow, best tacos ever!! You could mix and match 3. They even had chicken in mole rojo. The ceviche was fresh and delicious. The margaritas were made with fresh lime and potent. It was a little loud inside but that was the tequila and large tables talking.

Excellent meal here overall. Came here on a Saturday evening. I got the the street corner tacos and some chips and salsa. My favorite one of the five tacos was the fish asado on the far left side of the image consisting of fried fish, cabbage, picked onion, and Chipotle aioli. The tacos packed flavor and the torteiias were cooked properly. The chips were nice and crisp except for a couple of undercooked, chewy chips. Pricing was reasonable overall. The decor around the restaurant was authentic to the Mexican cuisine being served. Enjoyed the restaurant and would come back here again.

Nachos weren't the greatest. Too hard, so keep that in mind. It's too bad. Because nachos are a Mexican food staple. Atmosphere is pretty nice. And food delivery/ordering is like anywhere else.

First time visiting downtown Tampa. Stopped in here for dinner with the lady and my little brother. We waited probably no more than 10-15 minutes for a table. We had chips with salsa y queso blanco for appetizer and then we each got different entrees plus their different flavors of margaritas. I would highly recommend this place.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I travel for work so I have never eaten here before, but being from Arizona I like to think I know Mexican food. This enchilada is probably the best I have ever had. I have never had an enchilada with the outer shell being crusted like a churro. The enchilada coupled with their in house green hot sauce is absolutely superb. I don't live here, and this is my first time being here, but if you live here or travel here you have to try this restaurant. The Urban Cantina knows how it's done.

First time trying this place out. Was a date night with hubby. Cute ambiance for a date.. I ordered the street corner tacos i believe that what its called 🤗.. Its the 5 different tacos. They were delicious we both had that. The shrimp ceviche was sooo good. Just how i like it. I ordered the 🍓 margarita and boy i had to have more than one just soo good lop but man its strong i started feeling it after the first had the giggles kick in lol if i would have bought a third id probably crawl out 🤣.. Did a google search for fish tacos and got Urban Cantina. The Fish Tacos with pickled onions were excellent, seriously excellent. With a side of beans and rice this is an excellent lunch. Our waitress was very friendly and the service for lunch was efficient. If you want a great fish taco and are near the River walk go to Urban Cantina.

The food was excellent! In the photo is 5 street tacos all different. Chicken, Steak, Fish, Pork, Chorizo. The only disappointment was the soda is not fountain drinks, they give you cans.

Urban Cantina was updated since I was last there in 2019. Redecorated and a little less funky. Some may prefer it this way. Personally, the old vibe was good for me, Mexican wrestling masks mixed in with crucifixes👍. As far as the food is concerned (most important) thankfully, Urban Cantina still remains well above average. Bartenders and staff friendly and helpful. Overall, very good experience.

Great location in downtown Tampa which is busy when the lunch crowd is out. Got seated right away and server brought me chips and salsa right after. Chips are thick and crunchy and the salsa was delicious. It had bits of onions and lots of cilantro my fav! Ordered 2 chicken tacos and they were the small tortillas which I like. The chicken wasn’t seasoned that much so kinda bland but added salsa to give it a boost. Overall a good lunch, nice atmosphere and good service. Will try new dish next time!

Truly excellent food and excellent service I had a great time found a great local atmosphere for fantastic Mexican fair that was truly authentic parking is relatively convenient on Street and is only a short walk from major attractions in downtown Tampa found the prices to be moderate but that was offset by the Bountiful amount of food that was received drink prices were also good the menu was typically authentic Mexican overall very good to excellent rating in my opinion I will return. Service was excellent Andrea was awesome very attentive. Food came out first our party of 6 in about 20 mins. Oh and the best guacamole we have ever had.

This is the best place we have been so far in Tampa. REALLY GOOD FOOD! Chips and salsa were phenomenally! My parents street tacos were one of the best they ever had! My grilled chicken was amazing! My mom had a margarita and she said it was the best one she had ever had. And that’s really saying something. If there is a wait, it’s definitely worth it!

This place has been a favorite for years but they don’t consistently keep straws and kinda use an inconsistent reason for it. I would like to see consistency there… love the food and margaritas, the staff is excellent. Just bring some consistency to the standards we have come to expect w all dining out experiences. The food here was great and really reasonably priced. We chose this place because the reviews said the chips and queso was good. We were in fact not disappointed. Our waiter was really cool and served us quickly. I believe they were short staffed that night but I did not really notice it affecting the service we received.

We had the El Cantina steak burrito and Asada plate. It was decently priced food considering the location. Burrito was about the size of a Chipotle one and packed. Tortilla soup was great! The food was decent. It is not a typical Mexican or Spanish. Queso, salsa, and chips were excellent. Fajitas, soup and fish tacos were all yummy. The major downfall was if you like to have a good drink with your meal. The drinks were limited, very. They weren't tasty, and not much of a selection.

I order lunch for my staff at least once a month and this was my first experience with Urban Cantina. The ordering process was easy, the food was ready when I arrived, everything was packaged perfectly and we had plenty of utensils and sauces to share. The chips were delicious and by far the most authentic I have had in Tampa. The tacos were out of this world and I am ashamed to admit that I ate 5 myself :) Everyone in my office was grateful for the treat and we will definitely be back sooner than later. The food was amazing and the service was incredible (they even offered to walk the big to-go box back to my car). Highly recommend!!!

Empty at 1130 am before lunch rush. Sat and ordered El Rey burrito and chips/salsa. Chips are thick and crunchy. Salsa tasted fresh and slightly spicy. Took longer than expected for the buriito and somewhat disappointed. Does not compare to 2 years ago. That one was huge and amazing. This time it was ok size and 1/3 was dry, 1/3 ok and the last part tasted great! Not living up to past visits.

Well, the food was ok. Chips were warm and good. Best part to be honest. My qualm? Waitress gave me the wrong plate. I haven't had meat in years and she gave me the plate with meat. Both quesadillas, one veg and the other meat; I ended up taking a bite. Not happy but what can you do? They were quite flat so it was hard to tell and sadly I just assumed she wouldn't make that kind of mistake. Here is to hoping I don't get sick 🤞🏽

We enjoyed our trip to Urban Cantina overall, the staff was nice and helpful. They seemed a bit overwhelmed though, food was a little on the slow side but was very tasty when it came out. The ceviche should have had far fewer onions (and chopped) but aside from this it was a good meal at a good price. I'll definitely eat there again when I'm in the neighborhood.

My first and only experience was great. Last night, a Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m, four friends and I enjoyed phenomenal food! The chips and salsa to start were delicious. Our meals came out fairly quickly and were large, presented well, and very tasty. The service was good. The drinks are a little expensive. I love Latin music, so the beats were great (not live)! The bathrooms were clean enough with typical handmade Mexican tiles adorning the walls and floor. 3 TVs above the bar showing sports. Overall I will definitely go back.

Ive always loved this restaurant's ambiance and service, however, since they have reopened after renovations for the past several months, I am more than impressed with the overall transformation. Despite a completely new staff and set up, they have gone above and beyond with the new concept and their employees are doing a wonderful job of supplying a hospitable experience. It has been seemly hard to find good hospitality as of the recent months since businesses have opened up post-lock down, but Urban Cantina has given me hope that great service is still out there! Ambiance earns a 5 star rating. However, the House Margarita was average and served in a small glass. Asada tacos were served with bland meat on cold, hard tortillas. Queso dip was delicious. Elote had great taste but was overcooked. Rice was good. Beans had a baby-food taste.

Both times waited about 10-15 before having anyone come around to check in with us after being seated and we had to catch them to do so. We always enjoy our meals at Urban Cantina. Our favorite dish is the "Naked Fajitas" (no tortilla, beans, or rice) so give them a try sometime for a low carb alternative. The wait staff always is helpful and knows the regulars at the restaurant. We like the remodel they did about a year ago. How have I not gone here before? Stopped downtown on the weekend and walked in to the Urban Cantina. The place was packed, but I did not wait for a seat and there was never a lapse in service. And the food was incredible. The chips were thick and clearly not poured from a Tostito bag. The salsa was delicious. You could really taste fresh cilantro. I had a carnita bowl. It was filled with hot, juicy, DELICIOUS pork, among so many other ingredients and flavors. Excellent. The price was right too at $10, and there was no way I was going to eat it all in one sitting. Well done Urban Cantina!

First of all, I love the food. The mole enchiladas never dissapoint. But more important then that, the service was great. I ordered takeout last night and wanted to pick it up to avoid the Uber upcharge. The meter woman was literally ticketig every car that was parked for 5 minutes picking up their food. It was ridiculous. I have a broken ankle, showed her my cast and asked her if we could park in the loading zone for 5 minutes, so my husband could run in. Nope, she said if we put the car in park she woudl immediately ticket us. She was truly horrible. So we circled the block, I called the restaurant and the beautiful human being that was working there was kind enough to bring our order out to our car, so we didn't have to park. Businesses are suffering enough, so to have the city harrassing the customers trying to keep them in business is shameful. UC should contact the city and request a loading zone in front of the door. Thank you UC for your great food and service.

Before i get all nice, i wanna mention our bill had gratuity automatically added at 20% because we were a 6 top.The server made NO MENTION of this and i proceeded to give her a 20% tip. On top of the auto added 20% tip. Make no mistake this is purposely done by the server to get even more money. Any fine restaurant and the server would or should make a point to bring to my attention this fact. If i wanted to tip more i can but i shoulda been made aware. Also many very fine restaurants add 18% not 20%. So i thought that was awfully nice to themselves for that. The staff has also been personable and accomidating to their guests every time I have been here; they treat everyone respectivly, and make you feel like family. Really nice Taco Tuesday special with a nice "full" feeling after 4 tacos. Great variety of menu with some quality dishes at a very reasonable price. I would definitely come back and would recommend it for a Tuesday or weekday out-and-about meal with friends.

The food at this place is great, especially if you're looking for more authentic tacos. Only complaint is every time I come here the service is never good and usually slow even then they are not busy. My last visit my server kept forgetting things we asked for, and admitted her mind was elsewhere. Two other girls had to come serve us in order to pick up the slack. Luckily they have a good location so they still get busy but would be a lot better if their servers were better trained

This was a great surprise to find, a little distance from the police station. The servers were really friendly, lots of young people, a few oldies and a couple of police officers on a break too. Good authentic Mexican food not Tex Mex, and the offers make for good value. Taco Tuesday for cheap beer and taco meals. Great stuff!

So good. It was extremely packed and at first the super close seating arrangements (to other people, not each other) was a little weird. Then you realize it’s a laid back atmosphere, nobody cares how close you’re sitting to them because everyone’s annihilating their delicious food. We had a total of three people wait on us. 2/3 treated us like we were the only people there. The other was just slammed and we hope she got a break! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food they give you. Two lunches, two non alcoholic beverages and a basket of chips with salsa was under $30. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Pretty good Mexican food. Fajitas were very good, nicely charred, but the flour tortillas were nowhere near homemade. The guacamole also tasted store-bought, and a margarita had a cloyingly sweet mix, making it all but undrinkable. Still, I'd make a return trip.

Went for Tuesday lunch. Service was good despite looking incredibly busy. Chips and salsa quite good. Side of guac OK. Could use a little more onion and garlic. I had a fish, shrimp and crunchy pork taco. The fish started a little fishy and the a little overwhelmed by the pickled onion and the same with the shrimp. The crunchy pork was tasty but minimal bite. Beans were good. My wife had chicken and steak. She thought the steak was good but the pollo loco was bland. Service took a 2 rating to 3. The room was also very dark. Hard to read the menu.

The food here is very enjoyable and this place was one of my top choices of meals downtown. After a recent visit, that might change though. The menu has changed. First of all, you no longer get free chips and salsa. I mean, that's not a huge thing, but that's like the standard at all Mexican restaurants. You should get free salsa and chips. But now it's $2. Additionally, the items on the menu are now getting you less than what you used to get for the same price. I chose the enchiladas suizas and found I now get one less enchilada than I used to. But the new menu lists the item at the same price. Needless to say, it's little things like that which make the customer feel nickel-and-dimed. And the trip was disappointing overall due to that. I still like their food, but I can't give them 4 or 5 stars when I feel like I'm being taken for a ride compared to how this place used to be.

** Beware of the upcharges** I've been going to Urban Cantina for years. It has a great atmosphere and service. I went there for dinner last night after not having gone for a year or so and they completely changed the menu. Their margaritas use to be served in goblet sized glasses and now they're served in 6 oz cups for the same price. Chips and salsa use to be complimentary with free refills and now they charge you for them and have no free refills. Most of their items use to come with rice and beans but now they charge you for them separately. It's still a great place with great good but.now I feel like they are nickle and diming you for every little thing. Just extremely disappointed

Quick tacos, quesadillas and protein bowls in Downtown Tampa. Gets pretty packed for lunch. They are good about cleanliness and social distancing. The new remodel with garage door leaves plenty of space between tables and makes it a lot more open. Servers are nice and food is pretty decent. Carne asada fries are my favorite, their queso blanco is stellar!

I asked the waitress who said that it was the marinade, but I couldn't even bite through the chicken. Had the 3 tacos. Fish, shrimp and carnitas. They were delicious. Full of flavor. Shrimp taco was spicier than the other 2. We also had fried ice cream. Different from all the other fried ice cream I have had before. Instead of crunchy cinnamon corn flakes it had a cake like coating. My husband loved it. The churros were fantastic with the caramel, chocolate and ice cream. The waitress was very friendly and happy.

Given a previous bad experience with management, I automatically have to downgrade the review of this restaurant. Although, I must be fair that their food is fantastic, service is indeed in need of improvement. The manager in my previous visit happened to have conducted in a very bad manner with my party, but I do must include that proper action and response were given by superior management, so in case to that, I am satisfied with the attention to customer care from upper management. The manager of my visit forfeited a receipt, threatened to call the police and stalk, laughed at my party, and ridiculed us. Other than that, the food of this place comes in great quantities and at a great price (before GST 20%). Props to the cooks. Wow, how I loved this restaurant. Although, the wait to be seated took a while, it was okay. There are multiple TV's showing different sports around the restaurant. There is a huge bar near the cash register and close to where people are eating. I would describe this place, quite crowded. The food came at a reasonable time, considering there was many of us and the restaurant was packed as well. You can buy a mask along with your meal, I do not remember the price exactly, so I do not want to give off the wrong information, sorry. The straws, fascinating to see that the straws are made from plant. The wrapper says it is, but right off the bat, the straw feels different. A good different, the straw is stiff but not thick, it's a clear-ish green. I found that interesting. Now, the food. Amazing! The flavor was good, my SO's steak was well cooked. As well as my chicken. Everyone finished their food completely.

While visiting Tampa this weekend we learned the hard way that it is almost impossible to have dinner downtown without reservations. We called several places that we're fully booked for the evening and walked up to some places that said they were fully booked even though they didn't seem so. When we called Urban Cantina who said they had a 35-minute wait which was surprising when we showed up to see how packed they were but they still fit us in under 35 minutes. Everything we ordered was awesome especially the house made chips and salsa, the carne asada fries, and the tacos de el jefe! Thanks for saving our night!

Fresh salsa that we thought was really good. We had the traditional tacos which were good and flavorful. Great service, server brought out a special spicier green salsa for the tacos which was very good. Only thing that was just ok was the refried beans. I ended up drinking like 4 beers because the waitress was friendly, and I otherwise very much enjoyed my few hours staying in Tampa. Look, this place is nothing special from a food perspective, and it's odd in that it seems like a chain restaurant. I would go back the next time I'm in Tampa.

The street tacos are fantastic and the fish tacos are better than they are in Mexico. We've eaten here a few times already, and if you're tired of Taco Bus it's a great place for that Mexican fix downtown. This time I opted for the carnitas, which were good, but a little dry. Everyone complains about the hard chips, but they come into play when they pile on all of the ingredients in their nacho offerings. The service was good and our food was out in 5 minutes. The only thing I couldn't understand was how a Mexican restaurant runs out of Dos Equis at 2PM on a Saturday afternoon. We'll be back for another round, just make sure you stock up on the beer!

We originally went to eat at Eddie &Sam's Pizza which is closed on Mondays. We walked around the block & found Urban Cantina Mexican Restaurant. I didn't have time to pull up reviews. It was cute inside , well decorated & cute. The food was phenomenal! I had a cheese quesadilla the way our awesome on the spot waitress Bri recommended to have it with the refried beans in it. There guacamole was fresh real avocados. Pico was fresh. I took home my left overs & ate the guacamole & Pico with a spoon. Their service was incredible. Bri kept our drinks full, was fast when we asked for something & made sure everything was good. Bri was one of the best waitresses I've encountered. Always smiling & recommending things & especially helpful to our vegetarian & syliac Sprue (alergy) party members. Only thing that I can say bad about this place is we waited 5_10 mins for a table at rush hour. Lol. Urban Cantina is well worth the drive to take friends for a great authentic Mexican meal. Ask for waitress Bri when your there. She is on point & displays great customer service. You will not be disappointed with the food or the service.

I've noticed that this place tends to be a hit or miss, and for me it was a miss. The experience actually started out really good. The decor is great, the waitress (while a little slow) seemed attentive, and the chips and salsa were pretty delicious. That's about where the good experience ends. We were all ordering tacos which come with sides, and we all wanted rice and beans. However, to our dismay, they were out of rice. So I ended up going with veggies. Strike 1. Then our food came out. I got the chicken tacos. There was only onions and cheese on it, and the chicken was so dry, I actually ended up have to get some salsa on the side and drink a ridiculous amount of water with each bite so I wouldn't choke. While I ordered 3 tacos, I only ended up finishing one. Strike 2. Lastly, the veggies they gave were about 10 pieces of squash, 1 piece of broccoli, and two pieces of carrot. Now I understand what mixed veggies are, and I understand that though I do not like squash, it's included. But that was a little ridiculous. Strike 3. I had high hopes for this place because it seems like they put a lot of effort into the decor and atmosphere, but I won't be returning. I do encourage people to judge the establishment for themselves though because you might just have a hit with this place.

Disappointing queso. I'm fairly confident it was just melted Velveeta. And restaurants shouldn't charge for that junk. I would never cook with it at home, I don't want to pay for it at a restaurant. It also made the super chimichanga soggy. It had no cripyness or flakeyness. Which is the point of a deep fried burrito. Otherwise, it was clean and cutely decorated. So it still deserves a few stars.

Went here for lunch! Margaritas were very good! Chips could be a little thinner, but that's my preference. Service was good. Nice place!

The food is always amazingly good and worth the wait. Usually tables turnover very quickly especially during weekdays. The service may vary greatly from poor to mediocre but the food makes up for it.
