My mom and I visited this little place at Ballast Point. They have the tastiest ice cream. Its nice to sit under the shade of their awning by the water and enjoy the salty breeze and people watching and all the birds.

Pretty good seafood. Everything fried seemed heavy on the salt including the fried pickles. Great views, nice outdoor eating area. Server was very attentive and two other employees checked up on me as well.

I have to give it a 3 star rating, Only because I feel like the prices doesn't match the portions. I had to write a review because the blackened chicken I ordered was pretty bland, and it just made me realize how pricey it is, for something simple and small. The Fries are one of the best fries ever , just wish I had alittle more with my meal.

I was craving a lobster roll and decided to try Taste of Boston for the first time. It did not disappoint!! Hands down, the BEST clam chowder AND Lobster roll I’ve ever had!! I can’t overstate how impressed we were. Not only did we get incredible food, the staff went above and beyond for us!! We had the pleasure of meeting one of the new owners, Deb, (who is the sweetest, by the way) She really went out of her way to make sure we felt welcomed and were well taken care of, which we were. We are already looking forward to coming back!! This will definitely be our new go to spot!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!! Do yourself a favor and stop by to check them out!

Absolute favorite lobster roll in south Tampa! They have a cold lobster roll option but I got the warm lobster roll with sweet potato fries. The best!!!!

We had to wait close to an hour for the appetizer. The fried calamary was tasty and not oily at all. The filet in fish and chips was so thin that I felt only the taste of the bread-crumbs. The restaurant has a great location with beautiful view on the bay.

Great local gem tuck back and away from typical restaurants on busy street. I had fried red snapper and fisherman platter. The clam strips were good. The rest can be seasoned a little more. The service was great. I would come back to this place for sure. Very relaxing place on the weekdays. Weekends can be busy especially there is a park in the area for the kids to play. Great fishing pier and has some nice views.

This place is located on the bay side. They offer very good seafood and other eats here. Finish off your lunch or dinner with a scoop of icecream. The view is wonderful, food is great, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Very very good! The chicken Caesar salad was freshly prepared and tasty. The hot dog was perfectly grilled and served with sweet potato fries.

Not a very good place to go if you are on a budget and are looking for something tasteful and cheap to eat. The corn fritters weren't very good and cost $13.00 for 2 orders with 12 small nuggets per order that's ridiculous. The sweet potato fries needed salt. One small Gatorade cost $3. This restaurant really took a bite out of my wallet!

My kids and I ate here today and enjoyed everything we had. They had fish and chips and Buffalo chicken sandwich. I had the fried shrimp and clams basket. Everything was seasoned really well and tasted fresh. Yvette was our waitress and she was very very nice and attentive! It was our 1st time here but it definitely won't be the last!

I absolutely love this little restaurant at Ballast Point. The staff is always friendly and attentive. They have the best Lobster Rolls in the Tampa area! They also have burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and ice cream. Excellent!

Good quality food, including fresh fish, fried fish, calamari, fried oysters, clam chowder, Cuban sandwiches and many other selections. All were excellent and not expensive. Service was very good, super friendly!

It's my happy place. I've been drawn to this amazing park since the 1980's. First, with my children, now with my grandchildren. So much to see...people, boats, fisher-people, downtown Tampa in the distance...a fabulous water park for kids, as well as climbing toys for older children...Taste of Boston serves food and has ice cream too. Go to Ballast Point...I hope it will be your happy place.

A guaranteed stop each time we come to Central Florida whether we are in Tampa or not I will drive here for at least one meal. I always eat the Ipswich Whole Belly Clams which are great and good portions. Love there coleslaw to. Clean, great staff, right on the water with seating both inside and outside.

I love to support local. This awesome place is less than 2miles from my house. Have been eating here for what seems like forever. Nice walk there. Eat lunch. Get some ice cream play for a bit then walk home.

I loved loved loved the snapper that was suggested to me. Delicious! I had it with veggies and cole slaw, those were pretty delicious as well!! 😍 The personnel working there is super friendly and treat you like a regular. I love that feeling. I'm going back there at least every month. I live far from there, that's why. I can't wait to get the ice cream! The view is priceless. Who wants to eat a great meal right in front of the water?! If that's you, rush over there tomorrow, and get the snapper!! You won't regret it!! Keep that up team. The last time i went by there was 3 years ago. I promise you'll see us every month from now on 🎉💕😉

Update: I've been a couple of times since and the slope service problem seems to have been solved. Very delicious food served by a friendly staff in a location with a great view next to a park where you can let the kids burn off energy. The prices are a bit high but not excessive. I've been twice and my only grumble is that the service, while friendly and helpful, has been quite slow both times. If you have time, though, give them a try!

Delicious and friendly. I was impressed with this place. It had surprising good food. We had a variety both fish and non fish and everything was excellent and fresh. Very good service. The were attentive even to our kids. Effecient but not hovering. The wait for the food was reasonable for what we ordered and again the quality was great. They also had ice cream that looked really good but we didn't try it because we were spent out. The prices aren't outrageous but not cheap either. The setting is quite nice. Plenty of shade and a pier nearby. The bathrooms are maintained by the park and we're fair. Parking is limited.

Perfect spot for some yummy seafood. The Captain's platter is a large serving. The fried clam strips, onion rings and green beans are very good. The fish in the fish tacos was good, the tortilla was greasy. A picturesque spot.

Once I tried the food with the sauces(fresh tartar, fresh marinara, and fresh honey mustard) I was just amazed by how much flavor I tasted. I highly recommend this place. The food AMAZING, the service AMAZING, the location AMAZING perfectly placed!! And I’m not even from Florida but would definitely come back!!

My wife and I went there on Friday night. We got there at 6:55 nobody was in the restaurant. A waiter came out and he said we’re closing at 7:00 (Nobody came to cold), but come on in anyways. The staff served us even though they were getting ready to close and wow did they serve us. Kudos to the owner or owners. Great staff, very friendly and attentive. Now the food, my wife doesn’t like seafood she got the buffalo chicken sandwich (very good). I had the the clam chowder and the fisherman’s platter. Both were done just perfectly. The price was very good too. The whole thing was done right, from the staff, food, price and the restaurant right next to the water. I know this is a lot of words but it’s so nice that someone finally got it right, fried seafood from the northeast. The only thing we kind of didn’t like that it’s in Tampa and not Clearwater where we live but worth the trip. Thank you to all! P.S. WE WILL BE GOING BACK!

We originally just found the park on google and decided to come check it out. Then we saw signs for ice cream and we went in and ended up getting a full meal. The food is great and the ice cream is really tasty as well. There is a nice view of the water that you can enjoy in either the inside or outside seating area. Our server, Sergio, was very nice and attentive. We will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

Greatly enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and lobster roll. Fish tacos and blackened basa were reportedly excellent by our lunch companions. French fries were perfect...crispy and not greasy. One of our favorite outdoor spots. Gorgeous view, covid transmission worries almost nil, great service, and super breezy and comfortable.

In a word, WONDERFUL! I had the whole snapper and it was absolutely as good as I've ever had at any restaurant. Others in my group had whole belly clams and fish & chips and had nothing but praise for their food too. Even the coffee was great. Added to the great food and great service, the view from Ballast Point is gorgeous. I'll be a regular from now on. Oh - and great ice cream, too!

This little place is SOOO good! Came here with my family and was very very pleased. Hopefully you’re lucky enough to have Julie as your server. She is a literal ray of sunshine and you just want to hug her! Definitely try this place out. Clam chowder, fried shrimp and the clam strips are great choices. oh and they have ice cream!

Just the kind of small, unassuming food joints I like. The view of the bay is excellent. The food is great. I got the seafood platter and liked every last bit of what came with it. For $18.99 it's one of the better priced platters of any local seafood restaurant, too. It seems that the Park, Ballast Pointe, has become much more popular since my first visit, though, as recent attempts it's been difficult to get in.

Lobster roll. It's as good as any I've had in New England or the Canadian Maritimes. The simple dining room disguises the great food available here. Service is friendly. Fried selections are not greasy at all. Portions are very adequate. Everything seems fresh. I think Taste of Boston is an undiscovered gem.

Food is fine and reasonable price. Fish baskets, etc. Service is good. Popular place adjoining fishing pier and children's park and playground ... very well done. Hiking trails. But main attraction is view of Bay and downtown Tampa.

I had the fried snapper and coleslaw and I did enjoy the fish. I just wish it had some type of seasoning on it. I used lots of salt, pepper and lemon to add flavor to the fish. Also the coleslaw was really bland. Our waitress was really sweet and helpful. I sat outside and decided to come here mainly because of the pier and the views. I am willing to come again and try the fried clams as I hear they are the highlight of this restaurant. ✌️

My family and I are from New England and found this restaurant a couple of years ago while trying to locate fried clams with bellies. We have visited this restaurant several times over the years driving from Clearwater beach because there is no other food of Excellence that reminds us of home. I go here often. The food, Ice cream, and service is fantastic. I recommend trying everything especially their gator bites. For ice cream, butter pecan is my favorite. What gives this place an advantage is the view since it’s right on Tampa bay.

The fish and chips were excellent, everything was fried perfectly. The grouper on the sandwich we had was overcooked, a little dry, and definitely bland however, as we're the mini Maryland crab cakes we had. The staff were crazy nice and I would recommend this establishment to any one planning a day at ballast point Park!

They aren't really willing to barter as they wouldn't swap clam strips for whole belly clams on the big fried platter, even for an upcharge. Probably the only thing that keeps this from a 5 🌟 review. This place has a great views and good food. The service has been good each time we go and the waitresses are friendly. They do not service alcohol at this place because it is located in a State Park. Overall, this is a great place to eat lunch or dinner and overlook the ocean. The reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the food could use some seasoning because some of the items on the menu can be a bit bland. You do get a lot of food with anything you order so come hungry.

Very friendly and fast service. Food was flavorful. I just wish that the menu online matched the menu at the restaurant. There were a couple of dishes listed online that I wanted to try but were not available on the menu. Still, what I had was good and a great scenic location. I would reccomend.

Great food and service. Inside and outdoor seating. Right on the water. Limited parking. And friendly squirrels, please be nice to them! They wont hurt you and they have a water bottle to squirt them if they get too close. Please dont attack them, just eat inside and they are bothering you.

Cant trust the hours posted call first I wasted time and gas three times because they always say that they are open but when I get there they're closed I'm here right now it's three p.m. on a Wednesday and their closed so I called they said we closed early. Does anybody know where I can get some fried calamari on a regular basis I'd rather just go somewhere else.

Had the crab roll, it was to die for! Beautiful setting as it's rite on the water and hey after you eat and feel like a nice walk, ballast point fishing peir is literally 10 feet away!!! Kid friendly with a huge playground right outside

Always have a great experience here. My son tried fried clams for the first time and loved it. Friendly staff, great view. And to the guy who wrote a review, that wouldn't give his name, get over it. Why didnt you just give them a fake name and get that stick out of your butt.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. Most of the sea food is fried but it was still good. They also sell ice cream! It is a perfect summer spot. Very casual and there is a pier near by as well as a park where people can fish. Feel free to bring your dog as well. There is minimal indoor sitting (no pets inside) but way more out door seating. Also parking can be tight so be prepared.

Little spot on the water at Ballast Park. Coming from CT was looking forward to a real lobster roll that I used to get on the cape. Lobster had no flavor, was mayo based whereas I always got chucks of lobster with no condiments. But disappointed. Their fried clams on the other hand, excellent.

What can I say about Taste of Boston other than I'm from Boston and I know what Real Seafood taste like Cape Cod I mean if I want it's okay you know I think the best thing on the menu is a french fries you know / $5 that's what the tip but I like the whole belly clams and I are out of those more than anything when I go there real good seafood is the fish house over in Ruskin on I forget what it's called anyways that that's the place just Google it the fish house that's where I would go if I had some time but Taste of Boston is okay

Used to be pretty great. Other than location, I can't say they've wow'd us in any way as of late. Bathrooms were disgusting. Food was hot. Portion size is rather small for the price but the view is spectacular. Go for the view. The menu on this Google listing is outdated. Everything in the menu is higher priced.

They are now under new ownership and everything I have eaten there which is quite often was great. They remodeled so it a clean, pleasant small restaurant. I have never gotten poor service and I have eaten there regularly. Now they serve breakfast on the weekends again. The owners are always willing to do whatever makes the customer happy. Any other opinion about this restaurant is probably a one time occurrence or a personal issue. The main attraction to me is the water front dining on Tampa Bay...it's quiet and family oriented.

I am a Boston native and I must say that this little gem captures all of New England in the abundance of flavors they produce. My husband and I enjoyed our shared fisherman's platter and clam "chowda." The platter portion was so plentiful that we couldn't finish it together! The seafood was fresh and delicious, while the view of the pier is Just the icing on the cake with a cherry on top. Highly recommend for date night or an immensely enjoyable lunch with friends. Staff is very kind and welcoming.

Every time I go I tell myself I should try something new but I always end up getting the fried shrimp and clam strip basket. The clam strips are the absolute best I've ever tasted! No other place can even compare. The shrimp are a decent size and aren't covered in thick greasy batter like other places. Gator bites are also very tasty and come with a great remoulade sauce for dipping. My fiancé loves to get fried grouper sandwiches and always says none are as good as Taste of Boston. The prices are great for the amount of food they give you. Food always comes out fast as well. Then when you're done you can walk it all off down the pier or around the park. Love this place!!!

My favorite spot in Tampa!!! Love being able to look at the bay while enjoying a nice cup of clam chowder and grill cheese. :) It's my home away from home. And patio is dog friendly! So I ALWAYS bring my partner in crime with me.

Great food seldom is at as no awesome location. This is a rare gem and has been a great weekend place for my wife, kids and I. Peaceful view, Florida music on radio but usually a local Singer entertaining. Watch boats go by and people fishing while eating excellent seafood or Boston style beach food. Public playground and water park for the kids to tire out in so you can get them in bed after the great meal.

I'm a Bostonian, so my expectations were high especially as it concerns a restaurant boasting a taste of my home town. The adage close but no cigar comes to mind. The food and or dining experience (in my opinion) wasn't horrible, however, if you're going to name your establishment after Boston the menu items should reflect what locals would come to expect. Taste of Boston in this regard is somewhat misleading because it is typical of Tampa Bay's average seafood joints. Neverthwless, I think the location is probably the best part of the dining experience. The restaurant is situated at the entrance to a fishing pier and is surrounded by camera worthy scenery. My wife and I are fans of the fried clams, we visit often when we're in the mood for decent inexpensive seafood and outdoor dining. I would be remiss for not having recommended their Fisherman's platter and Hog fish. They also serve ice cream an important refreshment for TPAs sweltering heat. I like Taste of Boston, maybe you will too.

Great food! But, had a little bad experience this last time with a to go order. Instead of just adding my drinks to my to go order he went ahead and charged me. And then with their $5.00 minimum added my soda cans that are way over priced. I asked do you get a fee if it doesn't meet the $5.00 minimum? He said yeah "we" get charged a $3.00 fee. He said no worries and lost my debit card information that he took over the phone as well. Then Checking my transactions (" I ") got charged the $3.00 extra. Wow thanks for lying to me. So two cans of soda turned into $8.00. Atleast be decent to your customers instead of trying to rush them away because you want to be arrogant and you were frustrated of whatever was going on.

I've had lunch or dinner here many times and the food is always good at a reasonable price. They are dog friendly and the restaurant is at the entrance to the Ballast Point Pier. There are several tables inside, but sitting outside is the best since it is right on the water.

Add a little drips of lemon to the twist and you get "FRESH" slapped across your forface 😂 all jokes aside, the true nature of this treasure box is a blissful casual afternoon for the entire family. Ambiance is amazing: the best view in Tampa with a vibe that takes me back to summers in the cape as a kid. The menu is perfect and the prices aren't bad for a waterfront lunch. The food, however, is just OK. It will neither dazzle nor disappoint, but the presentation is sloppy (shells in the lobster, etc). Overall worth the parking search and the required walk through the park.

New ownership ate their last week for the first time. Fisherman's platter. Fed the two of us and we were ln heaven! Clam strips scallops shrimp haddock hush puppies and sweet potatoe fries oh my! Everything was fresh not frozen. According to my other half best clam strips shes had since Maine and Boston. Hidden little gem very clean and reasonably priced for quality.
