My wife and I visited Tampa for a few days last weekend from Toronto, and had the pleasure of eating at Pizzeria Gregario. It lived up to the hype - delicious, fresh tasting, wood-fired pizza. Greg is a great guy, obviously loves what he does. We ate outside on a beautiful Saturday evening. I recommend getting there early, and securing a table. Once there, you can stand in line outside once the doors open at 5:30pm. Dough goes quickly as they only make so much. Wouldn’t hesitate to come here again!

Having lived in Detroit, I can say the pizza was a very good version. The garlic knots were kinda bland, but cooked perfectly, as was the pizza. Staff forgot to give us salad, went back, forgot to give us dressing that it really needed. The meal satisfying overall.

Very unique little place in the middle of Safety Harbor. Pizza is a bit on the expensive side here, but it’s extremely good and the owner is super friendly! Once you check it out you’ll be coming back for more.

I’ve had a difficult time finding truly great pizza since I moved to the area last year, but I’ve finally found it! The pizza is amazing, made with only the best ingredients. The seating inside fills up quickly (apparently everyone else knows this is the place to be for pizza!) but there is outside seating as well when it’s nice out. When you walk in, the large chalkboard displays your options, and you order from the counter to the right of it. Other than pizza, there are a couple salads which I plan to try next time. They have a small selection of local craft beers, which is thoughtfully curated so there’s an option for everyone. I didn’t look closely at the wine options but I saw quite a few customers with wine, and I assume the same care has been put into those selections as well. I’m so happy to have found Pizzeria Gregario!

Been trying to come check this place out for a long while and finally made it. I don't know if our expectations got too high or... Dough is very unique and flavorful, so that was encouraging. Choice of ingredients looks good, but both pizzas we tried didn't really have a lot of character. The mushroom pizza didn't have much umami flavor, thought flavor overall was fine. The potato pizza needs a bitter herb of some kind and a little spice (sorrel and tasmanian pepper berries would be killer).

Hand crafted pizzas and locally sourced ingredients highlight this pizzeria in safety harbor. It's wood fired pizza made by a precision Craftsmen. Only good ingredients. The pizzas are on the pricey side ($15.00-$18.00) but hey you get what you pay for. The created combination of ingredients are all very well thought of and all sound pretty interesting. Pie sizes are all the same size, small. They feed about two.
This place gets crowded so come early and be patient. The interior space is small but still of adequate size. The owner is very personable and passionate about his craft.

I read the mixed reviews and thought twice, I'm glad I did not listen to the bad. As soon as I walked in someone was there to tell us about the menu. That made a difference with the crowd that was blocking the menu board. People came in from inside to sit outside to enjoy the atmosphere, the staff was great. Pizza had quality ingredients and was so worth it, especially that garlic dip awsomeness I added on! Sometimes size is not the value, I enjoyed every bite and will be back!

WOW! I’ve heard excellent things about this place and was FINALLY able to try it out on date night. I’m so happy I did, it was excellent. I ordered the margarita with bread and butter and a schmoo which is a garlic spread but not just any garlic spread, it’ll keep making you want more! 😍 The food was excellent and service was great as well. Everyone was friendly and it was great to see the owner so involved! I love how they source everything local and he mills his own grains. To the average person that might not mean anything but to someone who really cares where the food is from it’s awesome! Can’t wait to come back. THANKS GREG!

The not so Greek salad is delicious, chef put together a wonderful symphony of flavors (next time we will ask for light onions as there were almost a large handful on a small salad). Marcos pizza is delicious. If you love sopresata this is your pie. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is our crust was burnt black. The pizza it’s self wasn’t burnt just the top of the crust. It was still delicious! We may ask them to take care not to burn the crust next time. We loved the pizza and would return either way!

The pizza is flavorful and inventive. Fun atmosphere. A little more expensive yes, but well worth it for quality ingredients. It's busy Friday and Saturday Nights but well worth the wait. I've been here many times, I truly do not know why anyone would complain or give 1 star reviews to such a cool place. If you love Manhattan or Italy style restaurants and you enjoy quality ingredients with a lot of flavor then you'll love Gregario's.

Always a unique experience with cool people running the place and cool people dining there. The unique ingredients that go into everything they make along with craftsmanship make pizzeria Gregorio a destination worth driving far for even though it couldn't be more conveniently located in safety harbor. Greg personally makes every pizza that I've ever had the pleasure to taste there. I'm not sure if he lets anyone else near that brick oven. And don't worry if you're vegetarian as there are many choices.

This is by far the best pizza in florida. I travel for work and always try to find good pizza. These guys just know how to do it. Sour dough cooked in a wood fire oven. Fresh ingredients. So awesome. The garlic schmear is a must. It's so good I forgot to take a picture of the perfection they call pizza.

My wife and I have been regulars here for awhile. When our daughter from Virginia comes to town this is where she wants to go. Greg, the owner, is the ultimate professional and must work 14+ hour days as he locally sources and prepares his ingredients. We have our favorite pizzas on his list but have succumbed to his specials which are seasonally unique and delicious. The people who work with him are friendly and attentive. Salads are also prepared with a special touch. This has been voted the best in the area. You will not be disappointed!

Very good pizza! Pricey but worth every penny. Only thing is I would like an ice cold coke with the pizza but they don't serve that cause there is no organic coke. That is my only gripe. Get there early cause it is small (45) people max, and it is always BUSY!
FYI, reading the other reviews I have read from it was burnt don't eat burned food, to I like Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza chain better, don't listen to them. If you think a chain pizza is better than this pizza I would question your taste buds. As for the burnt, more like charred. Look at the photos folks, comes like that everytime.

This is a fancy pizza place and it's DELICIOUS! It has a cozy atmosphere and attentive waitstaff. The pizzas are pricey (around $17 for a small flat crust pizza) but one pizza was the perfect size to split with a friend and have no leftovers. I would definitely recommend this place. Everything on the menu sounded really good and about half of the pizza options were vegetarian!

We visited here a year ago and thought that the pizzas were a little too odd. On this revisit recently, we were very pleased and thought that the style and the pizza in the service were absolutely outstanding. Update:. It's been named as a Top 10 by Tampa Bay Times. They have a strange style, but they have earned the recommendation.

This place is unique the pizza served here is at a higher level than any other pizzeria around. Quality ingredients and high standards really showing on the plates! Organic all natural and sustainable,I like what's going on here. Enjoyable delicious food a must go if your dining in the area.

Easily some of the best pizza available in the Tampa Bay area. We tried both the Eh Mate and the SJ pizzas. The crust here is a perfect balance of thinness but not too charred. You can definitely leave here feeling satisfied but without the guilt of a heavy pizza weighing down on your stomach.

The restaurant has a nice vibe. The market salad is tasty & clean. The squash soup had a delicious broth mixed with in chewable pumpkin seeds which ruined the soup. The bruschetta was a pesto crostini w/ horrible tasteless ricotta cheese. Finally the pizza , a margarita & white pizza . The margarita pie had a great crunchy crust but the toppings were tasteless. The white pizza was a special grain dough tasty , however the cheeses, spinach, & garlic had no flavor. They list the cost of the fresh ingredients and do so little to make them stand out. Very Disappointing!

Please please PLEASE, don't go here. This is the best pizza place in the Tampa Bay Area and I want it all to myself! Seriously though, the ingredients are hand-picked, the menu changes with the availability of fresh ingredients, (see; fresh!) and I have never had a less than incredible meal here. The wine selection is limited, and they often have a couple local craft beers on tap (no liquor). Greg always takes a moment to personally greet a friendly face, even among the organized chaos of baking multiple meals with a limited, yet fully competent staff. FYI this is a quaint place, and reservations are not accepted, so on a busy night expect to order a drink and wait a little bit, but you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Friendly staff, high quality ingredients, everything seems from scratch. This little house-turned-restaurant is perfect for a casual meal or small group get together. You order at the counter, sit anywhere, and help yourself to water and the usual pizza seasonings to the right of the ordering counter.

Prices are pretty high and I wasn't very impressed with the pizza. I would pay good money for excellent pizza, so I was only turned off by the price when the pizza was only meh. We got the 4 cheese and the mushroom pizza. They don't even list on the menu that the cheese pizza comes with red pepper flakes. Most people probably like this, but I don't like red pepper. The mushroom was much better, but I have had better elsewhere. I didn't care for the schmoo because it was overly garlicky, but my husband loved it for that same reason. Overall, it was ok. Service was fast though.

Pizzeria Gregario has a great selection of top quality pizzas. All in 12 inch standard size. Pizzas are expensive at around 20$, but the fluffy crispy crust along with their wide array of crazy, untraditional toppings justify the price. Gregario also boasts good ales, IPA, lagers. Shade tree IPA is excellent. We landed on the 4 cheese spicy & Putanesca, a mix of olives, capers, garlic, chili tomato sauce, mozzarella & Bottarga fish. Mouthwateringly amazing! Staff is very friendless as well. They know what they are doing and always aim to please, and the pizza chef is a crazy pizza scientist. Thank you for a great experience.

Not typical pizza: you'll either like it or not; you order from the set menu and they won't change ANYTHING. You don't want capers on the Putanesca? Sorry, you get what they chef makes, not what you want. The sourdough crust tasted more like burnt popcorn to me, and you'll wait in line to place your order (wait staff only delivers the finished product). And at $17 for a 12-inch pie... Well, it might be just what you're looking for, but not for this traditional pizza lover.

Amazing sourdough pizza, with a lovely selection of veggies. If you're WFPB, ask for no oil or salt added. They kindly oblige. There are other options on the menu, but I've only ordered a salad besides the above, which was delicious and creative without being odd. Great ambiance in a nice cozy place. One can bring children. They do serve wine, and beer. The staff are very friendly, especially Cory, who's hilarious and has a wonderful way of making you feel welcome.

Pizza gregario makes pizza for those of us who are obsessed with a superior pizza. Greg's pizza and his homemade and purely organic ingredients have been well documented by local media. I've been fortunate to travel all over the U.S. and the world, including living in Italy, and pizza gregarios has stood on top. Greg's pizza is the kind that I end up comparing others to and cant say I've found any better, but at best, just as good. We are fortunate to have this establishment.

The pizzas are off the charts! The super fresh ingredients on a perfectly cooked thin, slightly charred, chewy crust is amazing! If there are events going on in Safety Harbor it can be a long wait but otherwise it should be 20 minutes or less.

read in st pete times this is one of tampa bay's top 50 so we had to try it. my mushroom pizza was fine. the very thin, crispy crust was just how i like it. on the other hand, it was a 12 inch pizza with a paper thin crust and sparce toppings for almost $20. everything, including a sprinkle of romano is extra.
i was late and they refused to seat the party i was with. sounds fair until you realize seating is at long communal tables so it really didn't matter when i arrived.
if the latest fads (all of them combined) of local, organic, gluten free, etc etc are important to you, then this is your kind of place.
it is a lovely concept, but i will leave it to the younger generation. maybe now that i am over 60 i am not so interested in being trendy.

For brick over pizza, there is way to much burnt crust. Looking at tables around me, there is uneaten, burnt crust on the plates. And, if your going to be accepting credit cards, allow me to leave credit card tips, not cash only.

Gregario's is hands down the best pizza and everything else in the Tampa Bay Area!! His pizza is super similar to that of what you'd find all over Naples, Italy! And to make everything even better, his ingredients are mostly sourced from local farms, in which you'll see on a board when you walk in! Greg is also a super awesome human beingthe best memory of anyone I've ever known, super conscientious of the environment, a great conversationalist and of course he makes delicious pizza! You should definitely have a seat at the bar and have a chat, he'll surely have some interesting things to say.
Try the garlic shmoo with the pitas because it's stupid delicious paired with any of the salads!

This is one of the only true "Farm to Table" restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area. Through her investigative series in the Tampa Bay Times, Food Critic Laura Reilly, called our Pizzeria Gregario as true to the claim. As Safety Harbor locals, we've eaten there several times and always find it fresh and delicious. On a nice evening, eat outside and enjoy the music from across the street.
