Reviews of Oystercatchers
Phillip HArris automotive
If your looking for a upscale, on the water with great views, this is the place. The service and the food was good, I had a lobster omelette, my wife and son had the short ribs. They both were good. If your looking for the classic brunch, chicken, eggs , bacon, greens, and whole bunch of other options this is not the place. It’s a light brunch that won’t leave you to full that you will need a nap afterwards. Also, you get 2 free mimosas or bloody Mary’s with your meal. Plus free dessert. It’s worth a visit if your in the area.

The service was excellent. Didn't have a reservation so we sat in the bar area which was fine. We both had the specials, pork shank and mashed potatoes were good and yellow snapper. Both dinners were very tasty. I had the OJ special drink but I did not care for it. The Mac and cheese were very creamy.

We got there at 5:30pm that’s when we had a reservation. We started on patio but it started getting to warm outside so we came inside.Beautiful Views ,Staff was polite and very tentative.Prices was reasonable Only thing I would change is the amount of food was really small for the price. But the octopus was succulent and everything plate was picture perfect.I read the reviews how hard it was to find but it was easy we just followed google map instructions. Definitely would return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went here for my mother’s birthday dinner. And even though it was a bit of a journey for her to find the place she found it and we had an amazing time! We sat outside on the deck and watched the sunset! It was absolutely beautiful! The food was delicious and those drinks!!! The weather was perfect and we had amazing wait staff the entire time! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is celebrating something special or just a romantic dinner near the water!

The place is pricey probably close to $100pp assuming drinks, appetizer and an entree, HOWEVER, worth it. The views are absolutely spectacular, the service is impeccable with attention to detail, food was flavorful and fresh, and the ambiance was clean, tasteful, and enjoyable. It's a bit tucked away, but worth the visit. They do have a chef's table available as well, for parties over 13 people there is a smaller menu and minimum spend per person fyi.

Perfect date night!!
Loved the food, drinks, ambience and service at the Oystercatchers!! My husband and I had a great time!
Being on the water, the restaurant has great views, bring your bug spray if you wish to sit out and enjoy the view/sunset.
We opted to sit inside an enjoyed the view. The restaurant has great energy, great groups of people and lot of happy loud noises. We were celebrating each other, so we did not mind the noise.
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a cocktail as much as the Hot & sunny margarita!! Slurp!! I might go back just for the drink!! 😜
Our appetizers were great too! The calamari was fresh and delicious. The crab cakes were good too.
For the main course, I had the snapper in guazzetto & my husband had the blackened verlasso salmon. Both the dishes were delectable!!
We skipped the dessert but we've definitely put Oystercatchers on our revisit and date night lists. I also plan to take my girlfriends there for those yummy cocktails!!

We arrived at the time between lunch hours and dinner hours. So we can only try the appetizers. But it's delicious appetizers and small plates. And the server is so friendly and nice. Definitely will come back to try dinner here.

Sunset Dinner at the window is as beautiful as it gets without the heat. The waitstaff is always great, longtime people who know how to please guest and understand the pace of dining. Friendly, lovely place always a stop for us when in town. Old Florida charm.

We arrived at 5:30 on a Tuesday , we were basically the only ones there so it was nice and quiet for our whole meal (ideal for us). Sat right by a window which gave nice warm lighting. The atmosphere and ambiance were very bright and nice. Our servers were professional, friendly and attentative. Food was delicious , best scallops I've had and the Sapphire Margarita was to die for. Would definitely eat here again !

Made reservations for a 1 year wedding anniversary in Jan 2022. I recall oystercatchers brunch being a very outstanding upscale buffet with endless mimosas in 2000’s. Years later I heard the place was still open and operational so I took a chance and book a brunch date. Upon arrival I was informed that it’s no longer a buffet :( we ordered from a menu that included 2 complementary mimosas or Bloody Mary’s and a plated dessert. We ordered fresh oysters and shrimp, they were good but the crackers were stale. The main course (grits and shrimp) was fantastic but crab benedict was just ok, not worth the cost. The dessert was not good at all, waste of ingredients. (dry and overly sweet) it was a plate of 5 pieces that looked like mini cupcakes and muffins mixed together. Weird combination. I would recommend the location to someone who wants to enjoy the beautiful view and some fresh oysters, otherwise I would say try another place.

Food was good, dinner portion, like the snapper was small, berry lemonade I sent back because it taste like water had the sangria instead which was fantastic, oysters were excellent! Little difficult to find, there is a shuttle from the Hyatt and back.
Stephanie Martin
Beautiful view and great service!
The oysters were were fresh and delicious
We also had snapper and salmon which were also fresh and pretty good maybe a little bland
Rice and veggies cooked perfectly

Best view of sunsets on the Bay. Located at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay with ample surface parking and easy access. Great food with lots of daily specials. Lovely decor and ambience.
Rachel Taylor
We had a reservation at 5:30 on a Monday and were sat right by a window, which gave us a wonderful view of the sunset. Matt, our server, was extremely attentive and professional, and was an absolute joy to be around. The food was exceptional - we had the charred octopus, oysters, berry salad, salmon, and snapper - every bite of everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Tampa, especially if they can arrive just before sunset. Thank you Oystercatchers for the wonderful experience!

This is our 2nd night in a row coming here and all I can say is that everything was amazing! The manager Steve went above and beyond to meet our expectations and our waitress Darian took excellent care of us . If your in Tampa and you want excellent seafood with amazing service you won’t regret coming here !!!! ********
Adam
Another phenomenal spot in Tampa Bay. The oysters were amazing. It was cool trying oysters grown in two different locations. One being Connecticut and the other the gulf, I believe. That was a first for me. A must try are the golden calamari fries, THE best calamari I've ever had , and completely different than the traditional rings. It's definitely a location restaurant, you don't see it from a street, and its way in the back of the hotel. I found it looking for amazing oysters and I was not disappointed.
Leslie S
The tuna app melted in my mouth. It was so delicious. I had the grouper as my entree. It was cooked perfectly. I sat outside but I will say it is HOT at 6:00pm as the sun is going down. Would love to go back but this time I would sit inside.
Felicia Santos
Ambience and service was excellent! Food could’ve been a little better especially for that hefty price. I wish my soup had a little more crab and lobster meat in it. There was only a couple small pieces at the bottom of the bowl. I wish my lobster tail was bigger. The steak was cooked to perfection but I wanted a little more flavouring. I just had the wood grilled taste in it. All in all 4/5 but food I would rate 3/5. It was good but not worth the hefty price in my opinion. The drinks were amazing! Strong and delicious. And our server David (?) was very attentive and nice! I would go again but properly order something else.
Kirill Gorshenin
Nice place. Great food. Service could be little bit better for that price…

First time here. We enjoyed a quick brunch outdoors since the weather was so nice as well as the partial views of the bay from their terrace/patio
The meals were decent, with some good flavors, and small in size. Their featured deal is you get 2 mimosas or 2 Bloody Marys, plus a small plate with 3 mini dessert selections, with the purchase of a brunch meal.
Couldn’t help to notice that, in a period of 10 minutes, NONE of the 4 different employees that walked by the table next to us that had left ever picked up the dirty dishes there, being one of them the server of the table himself and even the busboy, which in return attracted wild birds onto landing atop tables and eating freely and unbothered the leftovers. Not very hygienic needless to say.
The place displayed an array of different “Best of” achievements, being the latest posted one from 2016.
camille martin
Good food in the restaurant, nice specialty drinks on the menu. The cleanliness of the bar area and restaurant lacks attention.
Stacy Hall
Our server, Tyler, was fantastic. He made excellent recommendations, made sure our needs were met, and made our evening feel special. The food was good but didn’t taste worth the high price; I’ve had better tasting fine dining at a similar price point.
Another annoyance was that though my entire party was at the restaurant on time for our reservation, we still had to wait over 20 minutes to be sat.
Overall, it’s good (hence 4 stars) but not particularly impressive. I’d go back but I’m not in a rush to do so.
Thomas Qin
Seafood Trio and Surf Turf. Delicious food, and cute cup for kids. Lobster bisques not worth the price though.
Pups Lover
Excellent food and service! We went for lunch, so didn't try out some signature dishes. But for what we have, it's fresh and delicious, considering the location, the price is not too bad for the food and service. Make reservation early, we couldn't get a reservation for father's day dinner because it's all booked out!
Jonathan Klomp
Food is really good. Sauce on my tuna was amazing.... spicy yet not overly so. Bread weirdly delicious. Service was on point. Air conditioning created a sub zero temperature in the restaurant....Pricey, but you get what you pay for with culinary perfection.
Mitchell Chea
Oysters were great, normal entrees were above average at best. Great service and dining experience. $200 for two people for grilled oysters, 12 super premium oysters, lobster and crab bisque, grilled seafood trio entree, and 3 drinks.
Jonathan
Very nice atmosphere and food! Service was fast and friendly. Can't ask for much more than that!
John Heggemann
The oysters were fantastic; some of the best in the area. The main dishes were also very good. The service was a bit off though. Our table was ignored several times by our wait staff as they passed by to other tables even when we tried to get their attention.
Tracey Brown
The staff is very customer service oriented. From the bread to the lobster bisque to the grilled salad it was delicious. I just didn't enjoy the grouper (being so wet ) and the key lime pie was overly sweet that's my opinion.
Jon Gorea
Great sunset. Fantastic oysters. Service was great 👍
Kim Wilson
The service and the food is always good here. You can take in the beautiful bay views and beautiful scenery while you dine. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and all of the staff wore masks and they do a nice job with spacing out tables.
The food is always freshly prepared and tastes delicious.

Spectacular!!!! The view is phenomenal, service is beyond great, food is AMAZING and not make me talk about the drinks 🤤
Kendry Liranza
Great good even better environment. The octopus carpaccio is amazing
Naz Amini
Tanya is wonderful. She went above & beyond to help me & make sure I have a good experience. She provided remarkable customer service. Very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. I came back few times to order just neciaenof her.
raul puentes
Excellent costumer service. The chef had a nice gesture with us because our pulpo a la gallega was talking a bit too long and on his dime he offered a side dish of Calamari. Highly recommend by the way as well as their salmon and creme brulee
Sierra Kim
This restaurant is one of the main reasons I love staying at the Hyatt! They have the best oysters and tuna! While I do not personally love key-lime pie, theirs is too good to pass up on.
Jamie Reed
Overall fantastic Christmas dinner! Prime Rib was very fatty! Appetizers were amazing! The view and service were top notch!
Victoria g
Donald (server) and Michaely (busser) were absolutely amazing. Me and my date had such an amazing time here not just because the food was IMPECCABLE but also because these two were so welcoming and accommodating i would go back just to see them both :)
Shane Haas
Donald is an absolutely amazing server and an asset to oystercatchers. Always ask for him when we go. Only reason for 4 stars is food could be a bit better, but still very good
Cadat Broderick
Shrimp cocktail delicious. Crab cakes well seasoned, tender and crispy. Grilled lobster tail (part of the surf and turf) succulent with a smokey char. Filet mignon...the worst I ever had. Not one once of salt or seasoning. I ordered medium, got medium well to well.. I ate it though because I was hungry and I hate sending food back. The waitress brought some demiglase sauce which brought it back to life. I wish I didn’t order the steak in the first place, because I would have given this place 5 stars otherwise. Amazing ambiance, superb service, free valet for dinner and beautiful sunset. I’ll come back for brunch because that is what they are know for. I can’t stress how nice and attentive the staff was! My wife had salmon and a chocolate peanut butter desert which she enjoyed.

It was one of our favorite restaurants, the dinner menu is limited and sometimes confusing, for example, there is a section of the menu that offers salads and soups, and only shows salads.A curious thing, which I have never seen anywhere else, was the salt with white pepper, that they serve with the bread, I imagine, that they change the presentation of the bread every season, or it depends of the kitchen manager, the lobster of my husband was delicious, so my crab pancakes, which seemed a little salty, but which made up for the sweet corn in sauce with which it comes, My favorite, was the coconut cheese cake, exquisite, perfect with a good tea. The down thing is to have a good service, it's a lottery, the waitress who served us took 10 minutes since we sat down to take our order.
Raghuvanesh Vasudevan
Great quality food, tastes amazing, served really quick, convenient valet service, nice outdoor seating with an awesome view and excellent table service. Thoroughly enjoyed my wife's birthday dinner! I would definitely recommend this place for seafood lovers 👌🏼 Sauteed scallops is the best 😍 …
Bryan Phifer
Amazing meal, amazing service, and amazing atmosphere. We stopped in for our four year wedding anniversary and truly enjoyed ourselves at this hidden gem. If you're in the area, you need to plan a visit here!
Simonne Valdez
If you’re looking for fresh seafood, this is the place to go. Great for weekend brunch but also they have a great dinner menus. It’s classy, they have a good cocktail selection and each table has enough room to feel private.
The brunch time visits are great because you can sit outside on a day that isn’t scorching hot and over look the water while eating fresh oysters. Mmmmm
If they have it - I recommend getting the scallops. Buttery and cooked to perfection. I love scallops and I’d go to oystercatchers for theirs.

This review is based on a single visit. I arrived at 8:30pm on a Monday. As expected I was greeted and seated upon arrival. The restaurant appeared clean and well maintained. The large light fixture in my area was dusty and appeared not to have been cleaned in a while. This cost them only a half star from this review. In my opinion management who pays attention to details which customers can see also pay attention to details the customers can’t (and vice versa). I ordered blackened grouper which came with fried rice and asparagus. The grouper was small in size but cooked exceptionally well. The asparagus was cooked to a tender crisp and well seasoned. I also had coconut cheesecake. No complaints there either. The waitress was knowledgeable and made good recommendations. Again no complaints there. For the amount of food I feel the cost was somewhat elevated. This cost the restaurant only half a star from this review. Overall I was satisfied with my experience and would likely return.

Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, but the service was subpar when I visited. I called ahead and arrived in a party of six, and ordered the seafood grill. After I was finished with my meal I asked for my check even though some of the other members of my party were going to order dessert. My waiter advised that he'd bring the check for me, and after 20 minutes I asked again for the check. The waiter then seemed annoyed that I asked again and said he would bring it...an additional 20 minutes passed prior to me receiving the check and then 12 more minutes for him to run my card and return. In total, 52 minutes from the time I first asked until the time I left. It was a Wednesday at 5:30 when I arrived, and they were not very busy so I'm not sure why the turnaround took so long. Overall it was a very well prepared and delicious meal, but for the price I would expect better service.
VANESSA NIXON
Food and service were good, but nothing to come back for. We had lunch there. Nice view.
Diesel Don
Over priced. The Waiter thought he was funny I guess? It just seemed like a bad attitude to us. Beautiful View of the bay and priceless sunset
robert Quinlan
great drive into this place . its like going on a safari or jurassic park. one road in and out. when u pull up and walk in you are immediately greeted with a beautiful view of the manmade beach and bay. make sure go around sunset it is spectacular. the service is on point and the food always high quality. u wont be disappointed. it is pricey but on par for what you get in view ambience, service and food quality.
Brian M
Oystercatchers offers the Best Place for brunch in tampa bay but it will cost ya! Brunch is $45 per person and offers scallops shrimp sushi omlette making station banana foster station oyster bar and desert bar. Beautiful views of the bay. great for dinner too!
Kadeem Samuels
This is my second time coming here and it is just as good as the first time. We had the fresh Gulf Shrimp, calamari fries and the ahi poke for appetizers. It’s by far the best I’ve had in the Tampa Bay Area. The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing. Every bite filled with flavor and the cavatappi soaks up all the delicious cheese. Everything is fresh and made to order. For dessert, I recommend the dates pudding. It's so good!!!! We sat outside and the scenery is amazing. It’s a beautiful afternoon here in Tampa. I’d recommend this location to anyone who would love some quality seafood.

We had company Christmas party in one of their side rooms. The food was FANTASTIC! The service was EXCEPTIONAL! we will be back
Cindy Muzzy
Amazing meal! Donald was an amazing server. Very personable and pleasant. Just go and enjoy yourself, leave your worries at home. Impeccable food and service.5 star!!
Eye Eye
Excellent views with excellent service. I really enjoyed the experience and if I am in the Tampa area will definitely be back. I went for lunch and they have fresh light entrees. Worth a look especially if you are anywhere near the airport.
dave davenport
You will need a reservation if you want to be served by a server and not the bar staff and you want to sit somewhere besides the bar or outside and you will need to do your reservation at least 4 weeks in advance. If you sit in the bar be prepared to have people in bathing suits walking past your date. I did not see anybody in bathing suits or shorts in the actual dining room but there was definitely a lot of extremely overly casual activity in the bar and outside area. As far as the food it was absolute perfection. I know of no other restaurant that provides smoked salt. The butter is from Vermont and absolutely delicious to go on the bread and they bring three different types of bread with your meal. The bread was warm as well. I had the tuna and requested it rare as it is suggested to be rare and I could not ask for it to have been better in fact it was a 5 out of five stars for the food. My date had the seafood trio and it was also perfection however the bar staff waiter did not bring drawn butter and we had to request it. long and the short don't sit where you're going to be waited on by the bar staff otherwise it will reduce your otherwise great experience.
Matt Engebregtsen
Hands down the best brunch we have ever had (and possibly the best seafood, too). The seafood is so fresh, tasty, and plentiful. So many options to choose from, there will be something for everyone! Also had the best bananas foster I've ever had!
It can get pretty busy during brunch, you'll either have to get there early or make a reservation. We got there around 10:45am (they open at 10:30am) and were able to get one of the last available tables. By the time we left (around noon), there were already a few people waiting outside for tables.
Theresa Malik
A nice restaurant with seafood, and cocktails along with beautiful ocean-bay water views!! Just be careful when ordering "market price" items as they extremely up-charge!! It's a good place, just not good prices!!
Kim Harris
Absolutely fantastic service and food. A bit pricey for the portion but I would go back again! Everything was cooked perfectly from the crab cakes to the scallops. The bread was fresh from the oven and tasted outstanding! The coconut cheesecake looks divine! Saving that for a bit! The view was spectacular!
Laura Stoff
The view and food cannot be beat in the Tampa Bay area. Whether you are there for dinner or Sunday brunch, you will not be disappointed. The level of care they take with each and every ingredient shines in every dish.
From the special seasoning with the bread and butter to the perfectly cooked steaks and seafood. My 6 yo son even loved the chicken fingers and fries and we never felt uncomfortable there as a young family.
Kels B
Excellent brunch! Good service. The food was delicious and so many choices. The view outside is fabulous to drink a mimosas afterwards.
Ірина Лимар
Beautiful place with great ocean views. The food was delicious, but the portions seemed too small. The most annoying were the very biting mosquitoes on the terrace🦟
William McKanlam
The atmosphere felt upscale with the view of the ocean from your seats. Food was great and quality was superb. Only complaint was that the food was a bit under seasoned. Wish it had more flavor. Server was very friendly and polite. Overall a great experience and I would love to come back!
Food Incógnito
I always wanted to try Oystercatchers and finally did. It’s pretty amazing. You simply need to try it. Great for a date night or a family group. The food is fantastic.
Marco Morana
Best lunch experience so far. The restaurant is in one of the best locations in Tampa with over the water views. Service is outstanding we had a table changed because ny guest was allergic to a strong perfume emanating for a lady at table nearby and service was arranged quickly on another table at distance. Menu on fish dishes is what the restaurant is known to be good for but I had lamb and risotto that were cooked like I’m my home town Italy so I was extremely happy!
Micah Gaudio
Marvelous! The smoked sea salt for the bread was addictive and used it on all the food. The lobster Mac cheese smaller portions was just right. The smoked Manhattan specialty drink was my fav . Free parking at the Grand Hyatt and take a shuttle. If you do the nature walk the front desk will supply repellent.
Blake Tanon
Food great, service was ok - could be better for the price. Tables need replaced or a table cloth, many are damaged.
Nunya Bidness
This place is very nice but the food quality and flavor just isn’t up to par with the price.
Kayla Bush
Took my mom here for mother's day brunch. Price vs quality was pretty disappointing. The bisque was super tasty but our main courses were really lacking. There was just nothing special about it. And for the price you expect to really love your meal. Water view was lovely. And the staff were very nice, working hard.
Markus Impola
Service was excellent as we sat on the patio for a celebratory dinner. Seafood was good. Try the calamari fries.
Daniel W
Great place for quality seafood! Must try the oysters that you can order individually. My favorite was the Grilled Oyster appetizer and Seafood Trio. Get there early if you want to catch the sunset over Tampa Bay from their beautiful outdoor dinning area. Perfect vibe for a romantic evening.
Kelly Ezagury
The food was was amazing, extraordinary, they have a lot of seafood and fish options
The scallop were out this world, my friend had the whole red snapper incredible dish
love the view of the bay it was sunset
Very good service
Ryan Goodaker
I came here with my fiance for a nice night out. They sat us a nice table by the window so we could see the water outside. Our waitress was really awesome and went over the menu with us at length. We both were having trouble deciding between a fish dish or the scallops and our waitress said she had something in mind for us. She came back with our fish dishes of choice and a jumbo scallop on each plate. The food was delicious and the scallops were absolutely incredible. Will definitely be coming back.
Brian Matye
Good food with a view, we had a very excellent server.
Jan L
Our servers were super accommodating and friendly. Everything we ordered were delicious and my party had a great time.
Ilayda Ozsan
Good food, better scenery. I really liked the coconut martini with coconut flakes. Service was a bit slow, and I'd recommend the passion chocolate mousee over the key lime pie
Brittany Valente
Beautiful vibes indoor and outdoor. There were heaters outside too which I haven’t seen in Florida once yet. The seafood is top quality and cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend the gulf shrimp cocktail, the lobster Mac n cheese, and the kung pao Brussels sprouts.
Agnes Rodriguez
Most amazing water side setting in Tampa. First visit and it would have been nice if they told us the restaurant was like half a mile from the hotel. Quite a walk. But the food was good, can't say it was excellent, and you have to be prepared for the prices. Our server Diane was excellent.
tish dej
$120 Christmas prix fixe and we had to keep winter jackets cause heater broke night before. Food was so-so.
Jose D
I was wanting some great oysters and wow - I found the place. Best oysters that I have tasted in quite awhile. I thought the meal couldn’t be topped and then was blown away with the best grouper which was cooked to perfection. To top it off my wife had the scallops and she was in delight with her meal as well. Wonderful sunset view and the off main road location provides a quiet and enjoyable scenery. We arrived early and it wasn’t crowded so Lauren D. - the bartender seated and waited on us. Talk about incredible and friendly customer service - she made this 5-star review possible too. Thank you for making the evening splendid.
Shelley Iverson
Upper scale dining. Great service. Excellent view of the sunset. Beautiful interior. Tip: the scallops are the best thing on the menu
Dana Fuchs
I would love to give this place 5 stars but there was too much wrong to justify a good rating. If I were rating the food it would be 5/5 but the atmosphere and service detracted from the experience (and when you’re paying $$ - experience is half of it). The restaurant itself had water damage on the floors. It is almost like they’re waiting for a law suit. I almost hit the deck multiple times. The floors are warped and damaged. In addition the women who brought us our food (not our server) threw the food at us. It was SO rude I was appalled. The breakfast potatoes seemed like they were microwaved from a bag because they were cold as hell by the time we got served. It was sad - don’t get the potatoes
I’d go back for the views but I highly recommend they fix their floors and teach their servers some manners.
Amelia San Martin-Farley
Easter Brunch was nice but we are hoping they will bring back the Original Sunday Brunch soon!! 🦋 …
Eric Wenzel
Always excellent food. We had oysters, tuna poke, classics cedar salad and salmon. Flavors were well pronounced on the salmon dish, though it was a little buttery with the flavored rice.
Service was very good, though a little rushed. Not really our server's fault as she was busy with many tables. Not sure if they were short staffed.
We'll go back again. This is always a 4-5 star experience. And be mindful that the cost reflects that.
Keith Thompson
Good food, but not as good as the price would suggest. Came with a party of about 10, and while the service was fine, not perfect by any means. Odd they took our drink & appetizer orders quickly but did not take our entree orders until after we finished the apps and the table was cleared... Meaning quite a wait between apps and the meal. Had to ask for refills on drinks, individually. (Waiter actually took my empty soda glass away, I assumed to replace....After a bit I realized he thought I was done, even though we were just starting on our entree.) The place is VERY loud when full. The Guajillo Tuna was delicious, but some of the dishes were not as well received. The Lobster Mac-n-Cheese had a generous and well prepared Lobster tail, but the rest was oddly dry and not cheesy. All in all, not worth the price.
Susan Falcone Daquino
Unbelievable food! Great service. Will go again.
Missy Ann
Really nice and helpful waitress. The Shrimp and Grits were out of this world! Plus nice view of the beach from the patio.
Stephen DeFilippo
Arrive early for the sunset on the patio. Food is very good.
Robert Hepperle
Good food, good company. Beautiful sunset. Dolphins in the water. What more could you ask for.
Theresa Yancy
The food was delicious!
Jordan Galiber
Had a great dinner with the birthday boy🎂🎊🎁🎉!!!! Max was a superb waiter, who deserves 5 stars also. Thank you 💋 also the whole fish is to die for ❤️! If you come from the islands, then you'll understand 😜..... Eyes and all. mmmmmmmmm …
Joshua Stanaland
Great food, music and atmosphere. We sat next to a window that had a nice view of the water. I had the diver scallops and they were amazing. They have complimentary valet and I have no complaints about the service.
Katerina Zindulkova
The restaurant is beautiful, with great view of the water. I was there towards the end of the lunch time and the service was incredibly slow! Waiting for more than half an hour for a sandwich isn't ok. Food was good and desserts would probably be great as well, I just didn't feel like waiting any longer.
Julia Lysenko
Not impressed with presentation at all; we ordered grand seafood tower ( $220) and it wasn't served on ice neither it tasted fresh ( may be our perception as it was not served on ice). Service was great though. I doubt we will be back. However, I recommend brunch there.
Jose Faria
Friendly staff, nice cocktails, good fish and good view, what else can you wish?
Kevin Jackson
Everything you have heard about this place is true. Phenomenal service and phenomenal food! You will not be disappointed.
Sarge Charles
Best Sunday brunch ever ..mimosas bloody Mary bar and too much good food to try it all
Amy Throckmorton
Absolutely wonderful service and views. The food was amazing. Would recommend the calamari 100%
ASHLEY MYRICK
Oystercatchers is a wonderful dining experience. The menu is short and precise with offerings from the major land and sea groups. The best part was the variety of freshly baked bread served with butter and smoked salt. The service is spectacular. I enjoy it because everyone seems to be glad to be there. The options may be pricey to some, but it is well worth it for the quality, service, and ambience. I would estimate at least $100 to $150 per person to have a great meal and a generous tip.
Phil Miecznikowski
Cool place, food was just alright. I got the lobster and Mac. The cheese was too watery and didn't stick to the noodles. I also realize they put the lobster on top for show but I wish it was pre-cut up into chunks and mixed into the Mac.
Dean Atkinson
Wonderful menu and the food was beautifully presented. Perfect if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt
Karen Linares
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, beautiful view.
scott skurdalsvold
Food was okay. Servers were prompt and courteous. Quite expensive for what one gets. I guess that’s to be expected for being on the resort. Great view of the Bay (and a major storm that hit just as we arrived). Not a place for drinks and snacks really.
Jessie M.
Went there for a family members birthday. I love this place everytime I go. This time I had my favorite seagrill. View beautiful as always, service excellent and food tasty. For desert peanut butter cup.
Matthew Mileto
Excellent lunch and great views of the bay and natural landscape of the property. Diana, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Expertly prepared, delicious food all around - but the calamari fries are a spiritual experience.
Peter Petzold
My wife and I have been to Oystercatcher's a couple times now. It's one of our favorite restaurants in Tampa Bay. Every time it's been great. Everything we've tried has been great and we always seem to have a wonderful view. I highly recommend it for special occasions.

Cute place, this was our first time trying this restaurant, and it was for my birthday. The food overall was very good, the lobster crab bisque was amazing. The only downside to our visit keeping it from 5 stars was where we were seated. We wanted to sit on the patio to enjoy the view, it was a cool evening. But they had their patio fans on full blast. At first it was mostly just annoying no big deal, we did ask about the fans and were told it's either all on or none. Not wanting to disturb other guests we didn't press further. But sadly because all of these fans are pointed exactly at the tables closest to the railing. Every single hot food or drink item we ordered was cold in less than 10 minutes. Thankfully the food was so good we just ate quickly. But it was inconvenient enough to make us not want to finish our food, as it was ice cold by then. Next time we go back we won't sit on the patio. Obviously the patio is meant for the view and the only other table offered to us was against a wall. The place was very slow, there was maybe 1 table inside, and when we arrive maybe 3 tables outside. But I assume most of the patio was reserved hence why we were only offered a wall seat. Otherwise great restaurant, good service, like I said before the only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the fans pointing right at your food.
Des Tirlokhi
Exceptional service from Michael and his team. Sticky date pudding is a must try. Even better with a scoop of ice cream.
Olivia Moskowitz
Go for the sunsets. Donald work with us all night and he’s just hilarious and amazing. The food is pretty average, you aren’t going to be blown away and the decor needs a bit of a refresh. The wine list was nice but not super extensive, they had some of our favorite bottles so we were happy but someone who’s pickier may want more options. Cocktails were well made and freezing cold, delicious.

Me & my family visit Tampa once a year around spring break & we always eat here for dinner. The food & drinks are amazing Last night our waiter was AMAZING!!!!! She went above & beyond for my family I’m a little upset I forgot her name. Hopefully she will know this is for her. Lol
We talked about being moms etc… she kept it super professional her customer service was A1!!!!
We loved her.
Arndres Mason
Amazing food, atmosphere and staff definitely repeating this visit.
Lizzie
Our CA guests wanted fresh fish. We got it and it was delicious, fresh and flavorful. Yes, over $40 per entrée, but did fit the bill and all were satisfied. We went for double veggies instead of rice, but since it was Brussels sprouts they charged us an extra $5 for the "special vegetable" Really!!! $42 for the entree Plus $5!!! Low Class Move! The calamari appetizer was primo.
Mercedes Sereno
Yaaaassssss new place for brunch! Very high scale took the boat ⛵ w friends had a great time. Someone took our table outside but we ended up liking being inside anyway. The food was really good., Had the Benedict eggs and mimosas. Loved that they bring dessert with all brunches. That's a great touch. 💜❤️
Christopher Piacenti
We had an amazing dinner to help celebrate our anniversary. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meals were delicious. You can not go wrong with the lobster bisque, seafood trio and the seared tuna. Be prepared, because the fancy food comes with a fancy (expensive) price.
Toni Mack
The food was delicious. I had the blackend Grouper with the lobster mac & cheese.❤ The calamari with the special dipping sauce was the best I have ever had. The Floridian Cocktail is a must have. I will definitely visit Oyster Catchers the next time im in Tampa Florida.
Arelis
Nice place great atmosphere ,the food was delicious , attendance amazing, thank you for everything.
Hanna H.
My husband took me here for my birthday dinner since I am an avid seafood lover. We had a lovely experience, from the atmosphere of the restaurant, the deliciousness of the food, and the impeccable service. Barry and Donald took wonderful care of us, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Thank you for making my birthday truly special!
Zara McAwim
Food was fresh, service was incredible and those fries are a drug. I’ve never tasted anything like that.. and I am a Michelin frequent. Must try
Stefan Hagley
Awesome food great vibe waitstaff amazing must have brunch special on Sunday
Brandon Maggiore
No other way to say it. This place is ABSOLUTELY BOMB! The service is quick and feels like you are being waited on hand and foot. The food is incredible and I tell you this now. Get an Old Fashioned. You will not regret it. I never write reviews but this place went above and beyond
Eric Rovner
Superb dinner, great view, awesome service!
Herb Smith
Wonderful customer service. Waitress was amazing. Even with the kitchen moving slow she made sure we were happy and taken care of. Highly recommend this restaurant and hotel. Everytime we stay in tampa this is where we stay and eat.
Shelly Singleton
From the food, to the view, straight to the beachfront firepit... this place was full of ambiance. Great place to dine.
N. Jones
The perfect “half way point” to meet and eat with friends that are on the other side of the bay! Everyone in our small party was happy with the food and the service. With good company, what else is necessary in a great dining experience?
Google User
Wonderful location, friendly staff of course except for our waiter who was quite aloof and rushing us every single chance he got. Expensive, tiny "premium" oysters. I had the surf and turf which was perfection. My wife ordered the seafood trio. Now a warning to others who may do the same. You get a small, split lobster tail, two not very huge shrimp and one scallop! Yes folks, one measly scallop all for $56. My wife was so disappointed in the plate sat before her. We don't go out to eat to stuff ourselves, but hate being taken advantage of like this. Probably will never go back as I'm sure there is better quality in and around Tampa Bay. Sit on the patio unless you want to freeze to death inside. We were going to order dessert until we saw the wee slice of Key Lime pie the table next to us was served.
Jen Giustozzi
Always great views and food!!
Joey Sinnwell
It was good and service was good. Minus one star for the price point. I feel like the service or food needs to be better than what it was for that particular price point - overall positive experience and would try dinner here next time
Kelly McClain
Went for my boyfriends 40th birthday. The weather wasn’t great so we sat inside. The table was sticky and booth I sat in stained. The wall next to the booth had black scuff marks all over the wall. I had heard nothing but great reviews. Service was eh. Food was decent. The best part was the bread. I understand due to COVID it has been incredibly hard for the hospitality industry. Having said that it doesn’t cost much to make sure the place is clean and warrants the prices they charge. I’d like to give them another try in the future for brunch perhaps.
Elia Vagas
Had dinner with my husband and 2 year old son. Everything was delicious and the service was absolutely amazing except for one very rude skinny bearded bold server. We sat on our table and like we always do put our baby in the middle, nobody had a problem with it everything was perfect until he decided to approach us and very rudely tell me that I would have to move my chair or no one would fit in the chair behind me, when I told him I wouldn’t sit my baby in the corner and we would gladly take a another table if it was an inconvenience he ignored me and walked away. He wasn’t even our server or the server from the table he was complaining about, a family of 4 sat behind us and everybody fit comfortably and nobody complained. But we were so uncomfortable by his attitude the rest of our dinner. It’s sad that such a nice experience where everyone was being so polite and professional gets ruined by one rude server. There was no reason for him to approach us with that attitude or ignore me the way he did. That’s the only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars he needs some serious customer service training to be at the same level everyone else is at.
Mike Libman
Great place for brunch and dinner.
Fresh daily specials. Excellent service.
Their calamari are probably the best you can ever get. So get it and you will not regret. Any appetizer and entry are great.
Christy Morrell-Stinson
The team really does a great job and you can expect a grand experience. I brought clients there for a special meal out late and the setting did not disappoint. However, my clients' feedback was that the seafood included in the appetizer (big jumbo shrimp and both grades of oysters) seemed to lack the kind of quality you would expect at this price range. They pointed out that the oysters were very small and thin, and the shrimp was a bit tough. The king crab was really good quality but overcooked.
The lobster and grouper entrees were both very definitely overcooked.
This is really common in a "big box hotel" -owned restaurant anywhere in the country from my experience, and it's why a family-owned seafood restaurant may be a better choice if it matters to you.
But if you want a fabulous setting and service, the form of Oystercatchers' great presentation may outweigh this lack of attention to detail.
Rocky Samuel
We ate here tonight for my father’s birthday. Absolutely beautiful experience from start to end. Because of the pandemic, I wanted to make sure that we weren’t in a crowded dining area especially with my 2 toddlers. They put us at a table in the lower outdoor dining area. Though we didn’t get the best view of the water, still had an amazing ambience with the greenery and tiki torches. When it started to rain, they promptly moved us into one of the dining rooms that didn’t have any other diners, which we very much appreciated. The cocktails and food were delicious. Highly recommend the lobster Mac and cheese. And the service was impeccable! We will definitely be back!
Doreen Mcmahon
Excellent service, high prices & usually with it. Christmas Eve menu was not published online & only one vegan option, polenta& mushrooms, I didn't care for & $42, nonetheless, as stated, excellent service and perfect waterfront views
Dean Wang
Brunch, Brunch, Brunch! Had a good time to spend my afternoon there.
Deborah Williams
Stopped for lunch on our way to Tampa Airport. Wonderful pecan wood grilled snapper, fresh oysters and truffle fries. Very attentive service.
Angelina Goose
We had a great dinner. The service was great. We had lots of staff wait on us. We got a variety of appetizers. We got the oysters, calamari and the cheese and meat charcuterie board. All three were very good. Everyone got something different and all were cooked perfectly. Everyone loved their meal. I got the seafood trio and loved it. We got two desserts the chocolate flourless cake with ice cream was delicious and the coconut cheesecake was as well. The wine selection was good. Our experience was very good.
Danielle Biehl
We came here on recommendation of the hotel for dinner and lunch, great experience both times. Anytime we can get seafood we're all about it. I would recommend the patio it's a nice quiet view to enjoy a casual lunch or dinner date night. We plan to stay at the same hotel so we'll definitely make this place a regular eating spot
Lizbeth Grodotzke
We did not have a reservation, no problem we sat at a table in the bar. Our bartender Lauren was also our server and she was fabulous! Not only did she take care of us she was making drinks for the whole restaurant. We had white sangria freshly made, a wonderful cheese and charcuterie board. Blue point oysters, salmon and grouper. We couldn’t pass up dessert so we took it home. Love this place!❤️
Cherise plagmann
I was lucky enough to have my birthday dinner here!! We had Tyler out on the deck! He was very attentive and down to earth!! Best lobster tail I've ever had!! Thank you for a great dinner!!
Carolyn Cacal
Gorgeous restaurant on a beautiful campus located near the Grand Hyatt! Impressive service. Delicious seafood!
joe ray marquez
Everything was great until I went to pack my leftovers today for my lunch and realized our server had thrown away my food and replaced it with a fresh scoop of potatoes and a side of green beans. Nowhere to be found was the half porkchop from dinner last night. Unfortunate results from an otherwise stellar meal.
Surprising, given how attentive and professional our server was.
Jessica Heitzman
Best food and view in Tampa.
Just like it says on their website!!
This is our favorite place to have a date in the city. Love love love!
Definitely dress business casual or better.
Nice area outside to walk a boardwalk and small sand area with chairs.
Love their smoked salt for the bread DELICIOUS!!!
Tim Sudall
Tonight was an amazing culinary experience. This was the best seafood restaurant I've experienced in years. The food was amazing, the staff was fabulous even the manager Steve came over to greet us and make sure we enjoyed our meal. Our server Debbie, was totally outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Frank Ruiz
Superb view of the water and wonderful staff. We were said to learn that they no longer do the brunch we remembered but still a great place.
Ignacyo Matynia
Perhaps an evening out for drinks may have left us with a better impression of this “5 star” restaurant. The dining experience was moderate to less than desirable. If it wasn’t for our extremely kind waitress (who to be honest should probably work management) and the backdrop of Old Tampa Bay we’d have returned our main course and cut our losses.
We had ordered the lobster bisque which had come out late with the standard bread-for-the-table following AFTER. I must admit it was delicious but portioned out to leave you feeling like Oliver Twist. Our seafood trio came out shortly after but was cold despite the plate being scorching hot. Scallops, shrimp and lobster tend to lose their sparkle after sitting out for what seems to probably have been 20 minutes (assuming from its temperature).
Maybe it was an off night , maybe it was covid but for the price this should not have been an issue. Our 2 glasses of wine were compensated by the house.
Food wasn’t bad. Management was lackluster.

I normally don’t write reviews, in fact, this is my first review for a restaurant. First of, thanks to Donald, who really took care of us from the beginning. Phenomenal service! All of his recommendations were on point. If you go in and get him just trust him and get what he says. From drinks to dessert, everything was espectacular. The swordfish was a great choice. Oh and the coconut cheesecake, gotta have extra jalapeños with pineapple! Very pleased with this experience and the service was beyond exceptional. Will definitely try again soon!
Ivan Martinez
We came here for my wife’s birthday. The service was top notch and the food was PERFECT! I would recommend to anyone looking for great sea food with excellent ambiance.
Chris Tso
Sunday brunch was pretty good. Two bloody marys or mimosas included with each entree.
Matthew Teli
Great place to watch the sun set. Ad the food is good too.
Emmanuella Raphaelle
The seafood tower--the best I've ever had. The flounder was lovely. Sat in a private dining room with an incredible view. Enjoyed it all. Worth it!
Alexandra Fernandez
Beautiful place and atmosphere. The food and wine were delicious! Our waiter was so nice!
David Elmasllari
Good food, great location. The waiter was very friendly and i loved the fact that they did not annoy me every 2 seconds to fill my water glass after every sip. They cared for the table but they do not overdo until they become annoying. I would suggest you pick a table outside. The view is great. Recommend restaurant, if you love raw seafood (especially oysters)
Siva Chidambaram
Lobster bisque here is amazing. Also the view is breathtaking, especially for a sunset. Ask for a seating with the view, it's worth it.
Charlie Kreitzberg
On the basis of a single experience, this was a five star restaurant. I rarely give five star reviews.
Located near Tampa airport, it was a good choice before a flight.
The view from our table at sunset was spectacular.
Before we ordered the server brought the table two loves of freshly baked sourdough bread. The loves were steaming hot and crispy. Served with butter and smoked salt.
Our party of six ordered various seafood, grilled over pecan wood. Everyone felt their selections were first rate. Portions were substantial and there was a choice of sides.
We ended with excellent coffee and key lime pie. One person had a peanut butter chocolate dessert. Both the pie and the other dessert were rich and well flavored.
Service was excellent; friendly, attentive and efficient.
I look forward to a return visit.
Emily Avadikian
I don’t even want to give a 4 star I believe because of how attentive our waiter was this place deserves the full 5. The wait for our food was a little slower than usual because our waiter was balancing almost 6 tables at a time. He was a complete gentleman and kept his composure throughout our dining experience. I came here for an early bday dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Oysters were plentiful and delicious, scallops were delicious and cooked well. Drinks were not weak by no means. This place is the best. Shall I mention the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. It was the best!
Smithendorf Creations
First visit and was outstanding. Service and food was exceptional. Seated by the window with a view of Tampa Bay.
Hugh Bowen
Food and service and atmosphere were all outstanding! Our table had fried calamari and oysters on the half shell for appetizers and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their entree's and drinks and desserts (key lime pie and coconut cheesecake)! Hope to return here for some special occasion in the future!
Carli
Had dinner here for Father’s Day 6/21. Being a Tampa native, Oystercatchers has been a regular spot for my family and I. We were seated quickly and as per requested. We had a beautiful view outside. And our server was attentive and friendly. The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is the drinks were overpriced, I had a glass of Riesling and it was a very small pour for a glass. Also the food portions were extremely small. I had the seafood trio which included one small lobster tail cut in half and 2 shrimp and one scallop, I was expecting more seafood, at-least more shrimp or scallops. We had also split a Caesar salad which we asked if our server thought it would be enough to split and it wasn't, I would say about 3 forks of lettuce . Not sure we will be back again. A member of our party had the grouper, he thought that was a small portion as well.
Juana Jackson
The staff was amazing! The ambiance was one to witness in person. The food was hot and delicious! You must try the surf and turf. You’ll thank me later.
Lacey Buchanan
Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Make sure you make reservations because they get busy and the wait can be long. We made reservations and got seated right away.
It’s $55 brunch buffet with unlimited mimosas. The server we had was AMAZING! He was very attentive and never let out mimosas run out.
The brunch buffet has tons to choose from. There’s the seafood bar with clams, mussels, oysters and shrimp.
There’s a hot bar with all sorts of sides, chicken, and fish.
There’s a sushi bar with a few different rolls.
There’s a pasta bar, omelet area, a dessert stand...SO much!
I will say that it is a classy place so dress appropriately. I hadn’t been here in awhile and I’m extremely glad I came back. We had such a great experience. This is one of my favorite brunch restaurants .
I’m usually super good at posting pictures, but I ate my food so quickly without even thinking of taking a picture !
Priya S
Love the view. Great food and awesome deserts.
Nicole Stavitzski
Great food and service... I just wish someone would have told us about the crazy bugs outside! So just sit inside when you go or just not outside at night! If they had more fans it may not be a problem so that could be something to consider for the establishment. But overall a great experience and again excellent food and service!
Pete Balzer
Brunch very pricey, but they include alot of extras. Came with alot of dessert and an appetizer. Beautiful views!
Richard Seligman
Food was excellent, went on a weeknight was not crowded, sat near window, beautiful view of bay, very romantic. Waiter was excellent, efficient, but left us enjoy dinner without trying to be our best friend. A total PRO staff, drinks, water glasses, clearing dishes were coordinated like seal team six. Really enjoyed total experience. Young lady who seated us was just snooty enough to make us feel we were entering a secretive, private club, that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Larry Gamble
Wonderful atmosphere with a beautiful view awesome service.
Michele Schielka
We started with calamari fries; best calamari I've ever had, hands down! The main course, the grilled seafood mix was off the chain delicious! Close to the water, the view is stunning! Best dining experience I ever remember having. Make sure to ask for Zach! Very attentive without being intrusive, on the ball, totally stellar service in every respect!
Vanessa Hanlon
This is hands down our favorite outdoor seafood restaurant. The grouper is always spot on. Ambiance with sunset and tropical foliage not to be missed. Service always outstanding. I can't wait till they put white tablecloths back on. Due to covid I guess? Otherwise just love it 😀😍❤ …
Aladdin Hiba
Food was delicious, and prepared quickly. The lobster and tomatoes in the mac and cheese were brilliantly flavored. The crab cakes were delicious, but mine was a bit burnt at the bottom which was very saddening. The gulf snapper was very nicely flavored and the calamari was very nicely paired with its tart marinara. Overall still easily a 5/5
Marquis Kimble
Went here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was great as well as the service. Food was served rather quicker than expected (not a bad thing), as I was prepared to wait a bit longer.
Jason Rayz
Had dinner last at Oystercatchers,
Always heard about the place from friends and colleagues.. I want to first give our thanks to the Manager(s) and others for the wonderful service and delighting experience set from our reservation. We had an amazing time. The setting is very comfortable, the food, absolutely spectacular (we ate The Lobster-Mac). Our waiter and assistant was just wonderful.
And the view is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before! The lady and I after eating, walked out to the pier to enjoy a unforgettable sunset as we watched birds and sea life all around us. From valet to kitchen.. thank you all
Looking forward to coming back in the future.
What a great place!
Oliver Hilton
Omg AMAZING!! Casual fine dining restaurant located at Rocky Point near the Hyatt Hotel. Inside and outside seating available. Recommend reservations. Great views overlooking the bay while you dine. Great entrees and drinks. Entrees average from $22-$54 depending on what you order. We come here at least once per year for our anniversary dinner and the food and service is always amazing. Wait staff is very attentive to refills and very knowledgeable of the menu offerings. Recommendations are on point and you definitely won't be disappointed dining here!
Our drinks and dessert was on the house tonight. Which absolutely surprised us! Cindy came over and told us that her manager was buying these for us tonight since The dining room was louder than usual and he was sure we were looking forward to a more quiet dinner. We really appreciated this gesture despite the noise level not bothering us and the fact that we didn't complain about it. Just shows they are extremely committed to a positive dining experience and value their diners. We will definitely continue to come back here. Love this place!!
Lauren Little
Robb , very polite, and attentive Employee. I have a walnut allergy and he explained what was in all the bread so it kept me from anaphylaxis.
Came in a few nights later and had an amazing Ribeye! They were amazing and let me substitute parsnip purée instead of mashed potatoes and the lobster Mac n Cheese was abundant with lobster . Will be back
Jacqueline Vidal-Paiva
I love this place for Drinks and maybe an appetizer... I know the price is for the view but food could better. I wasn't too impressed with the flavors of the fish etc. We tried a sampler platter that had many different types of fish and veggies. Food came out very quick but seemed like it was cooked too fast & not enough. Weird.
Marta Kizyma
Me and my husband went for a lunch. Prices are a little bit higher than average , but definitely worth it. If you like seafood, this place is for you.We liked calamari fries, oysters and shrimp and grits. Coconut cheesecake was the best cheesecake in my life. Thanks our server Michael D. for a great recommendation. Also, our server split our main dish into two different plates because me and my husband shared it, and we even didn’t ask about it, it was very sweet! Love this place!
Shaara Barron
Wonderful location with great views of the water. Service was excellent, we were well attended to by the entire wait staff. We both had the ribeye and it was a beautiful cut of meat, perfectly prepared. The oysters were wonderful. For dessert, we split the salted caramel creme brulee and it had unique toppings (popcorn?!) that perfectly complemented the flavors. Overall, wonderful experience!
Melissa Wenck
The shrimp and lobster bisque is fantastic. I ate here twice in one week while I was down here on a work trip, mainly went back to get more of that soup! And the smoked salt with the bread is a really great touch. All the food was yummy... both times :) The service was also excellent- Bob is THE BEST.
Lisa Nandram
Came for brunch and had crab florentine eggs Benedict and it was really good. Breakfast potatoes were on point. Oysters were great as well. Will come again.
Leanne C (Lay)
The food was amazing , The service was amazing!
I really wish I could remember our server's name because he was awesome!
I got the surf and turf and my husband got the lobster mac and cheese.
Both dishes were really good!
Barry Ore
Delicious food, great waterfront ambiance. I started with a cucumber martini, which was fantastic. For appetizers went with calamari and oysters - the calamari is among the best I've had anywhere. I went with the fish tacos for enter, they were decent.
Ray Pratt
Great views. Great food. Great service. We were there for a business lunch, and the service was fast and friendly. We all ordered the grouper, which was fantastic. The asparagus was a bit oily but tasty. The bread and sea salt was also fantastic. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely go back.
Magic Johnson
Food was great, overpriced but it was good nonetheless
Dmitry Litosh
Very nice food and beautiful location. The staff is a bit slow.
Milly J
Spanish Tortilla was good and the seafood tower was more than enough for two ;; BUT our server Natalie was terrible . Did not engage with my table nearly as much as she did w others. Actually served other tables that were seated well after us before us;; luckily our busboy was attentive so we tipped him instead .. nevertheless the view from our table was nice despite the rainstorm
Carlie H.
We went for brunch. It was okay. The service was excellent! We had a waitress by the name of Victoria who was AMAZING!!I would like to give her 5 stars!!! She was SO attentive and EXCELLENT:) I think if they had more food selection and better view of the ocean it would be better. I would return just because of the great service. They had a very nice display of desserts. The pasta station was very good.
Allison Johnson
Gorgeous views right on the water! We dined outside for a proposal! They were accommodating for the reservation and didn't rush us or intrude a lot. They were very patient when the party arrived late. The food was so good! The lobster mac n cheese is a MUST! We enjoyed relaxing in the sand on the comfy lounge chairs provided and watching the sunset over the bay. The ambiance can be casual or fancy depending on your party. Its a bit pricey but that's because of great food, great service and an unbeatable view!
Gerard Marino, CCIM
Incredible seafood, generous portions and reasonably priced for such high quality. Nice wine selection very fairly priced. Unbelievable view over looking bay. First class service and live piano on Friday evening which made this evening even more special. Not single negative thing to say.
Rose H.
My family and I have been there on several occasions. Never a disappointing experience. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are exceptional.
Hernan Maldonado
This is certainly a pricey restaurant, if you do three courses and wine, it will be $100 per person. Having said that, the food is really good, the location is excellent as it is on the water but not many tables have a window. The atmosphere is classy but not overly stiff. Food presentation is good but could be improved a bit with more creativity.
Gleyner Garden
Delicious food, good service. Sunday brunch is the best.
Edit: post-pandemic, the brunch is obviously not going to be what it used to be. Very limited menu, very overpriced. I had the crab Benedict Florentine on a somewhat stale untoasted English muffin with soggy breakfast potatoes and my wife had a lobster omelet which was just ok (but might have upset her stomach)
The service was great, as was the view, and I suppose that's all you're paying for now.
Joanie Loch
We picked up our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter from the airport and wanted to get lunch before heading home. We've heard great things about Oystercatchers and thought it would be great to try it. We had apps of calamari and shrimp cocktail. The calamari was very good, the shrimp were just average. For our entrees we had blackened cobia, grouper sandwich, the seafood salad, and the fish and chips. The cobia was a bit dry but the other dishes were pretty good. Nothing was outstanding tho. I live in Dunedin and we frequently travel the area for great food, this just wasn't great. But our server was terrible. He was mildly friendly and incredibly slow. We had NO room on the table as he didn't bother to remove our app dishes. I really expected more. Sadly I won't return. There are many places in the area to get great food at that price point.
William Goodman
By far the best restaurant in Tampa for the money. It was nice it was elegant the food was the best I've had. They took good care of us and our birthday celebration was a Smash Hit. I will definitely go back to this restaurant many times.
Ngoc Jade Dong
Food was okay. Service was great. I had the crab cakes, date pudding, oysters and the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts really were exceptional though. But the rest I wasn't too impressed with.
Ronda Berry
I've have been here several times and it is ALWAYS good. The seafood is so very fresh and delicious and the service is good. I also like the pianist that plays through the evening. We were lucky and had a table right by the window so had a great view of the sunset which was great. It really is one of the top seafood places in Tampa. Oystercatchers was a good choice for dinner while staying at the Grand Hyatt. it was just a short walk from the hotel. We enjoyed the lovely view and our waiter was excellent. Our meals were very good.
false
We’ve dined here before and had a wonderful experience. We sat on the lower deck and my son enjoyed playing in the beach area and watching airplanes all evening. The view was gorgeous! Food was great. Dinner was very expensive, but we felt it was worth it for the experience!
Today we had a special occasion to celebrate. I made a reservation very far in advance, and requested the lower deck again. We drove an hour to get there. When we arrived, we were told that outdoor seating is first come, first serve. Reservations don’t matter. I would have loved to know this when I booked. (It was not noted, although there is a place for this type of information.)
To add to the frustration, we were told that the lower deck was closed due to being short staffed. So there was an hour (or more) wait for outdoor seating, but 2/3 of the outdoor seating was closed. I would have been happy to have slower service in a nice location, but that wasn’t an option.
The food was good, as usual. And the servers were very kind. But inside, it’s just a hotel bar, and not worth the $400+ price tag for our dinner. :(

I chose this place for my birthday dinner and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious. The view was so peaceful and amazing. My waitress was also so sweet. I would recommend this place for any occasions.

We were there for our 2nd Anniversary, but what made our experience memorable for the 5 stars is our server !!! His name is Zack he was just outstanding!!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and attentive. He recommended the ribs which were the best choice from the menu. The atmosphere was amazing for a sunday! Thank you Zack you just made our day!

Beautiful views, drinks are pretty good and so was the lobster Mac & Cheese but the chicken was very bland. Like hospital bland.
J Zhao
Seafood is very fresh and tender. Would recommend the fish over lobster. Scallops are delicious.
Gene Aulenbach
I had broiled diver scallops (5) with grilled asparagus. My wife ordered peppered raw Ahi. Both dishes were outstanding!!!
We have eaten at Oystercatchers (OC) many times and have always enjoyed an outstanding meal everytime!!
Peter Blackerby
Food awesome. Interesting clientele. Some of the diners looked like exotic dancers, 5 inch heels, see through dresses etc. There was a two piece band. Very good. The guitar player was particularly handsome, and talented. The bass player looked a bit tired, but he looked happy and smiled when the ladies with the 5 inch heels strolled by. All in allot was the best $138.brunch for two I ever had. This is a high end place. Expect to see Pro athletes and gold diggers, and guys like me who can afford to go out once a year to a nice place. If I cold afford it, I would take my wife once a month. I recommend this joint. Oh, If I were advising a gold digger, this place would be a great place to indulge in you racy outfits.

Very nice and the food was once again delish! The wine bottle pricing is a bit extravagant and I feel it could be priced a bit lower, but the atmosphere somewhat makes up for it. The views are awesome if you're there during daylight hours. I'll be back for sure.

Went to an outside event prior to eating at restaurant. Started with a dozen oysters, they were fresh and very tasty. The lobster bisque and wedge salad were both amazing. For the entree we had the Cioppino. It was all cooked perfectly. I also sampled some of my companions Coriander Smoked Salt Diver Scallops, the sides of the risotto and scallops were delicious. For desert I had the sticky pudding which excellent. A very pleasant dinner experience.

Best brunch in the bay area. It's pricey, but well worth it. Oystercatchers is like a full 2 levels up from somewhere like Jackson's, probably 3 levels up from a brunch like the Sand Pearl.
Lots of good options when it comes to food. Servers and attendants watch the tables and buffets like hawks to ensure nobody tampers with food or your table. I really appreciate this, because let's be real, there's some stuff you can see at buffets that make you not want to eat at buffets.
One of the highlights for me is the waffle station and the fact that there's an eggs benedict dish 90% of the time. Then there's all the typical breakfast staples, basic sushi, raw oyster bar, a few dishes with a local flair (usually fish and some protein), and I could go on.
If you're serious about brunch, you can't top Oystercatchers.

Tonight we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Oystercatchers and couldn't have been more pleased. From the champagne and appetizer of calamari fries and dinners of seafood mixed grill and sauteed grouper, to the wonderful coconut cheesecake and peanut butter cup desserts, we enjoyed every bite! Lindsay, the general manager, kept checking on us to make sure everything was up to standard (it was!) and our waitress, Debbie, was personable and excellent! Thank you so much for a very memorable and delicious dining experience!

I cannot say enough about this fabulous brunch! I had been here once before, but that was about 15 years ago. It is better and bigger than I remembered with so many more choices! Our table had the most gorgeous view of Tampa Bay. Our server, Kevin, was attentive without being intrusive. The choice of food is incredible. Our favorite was the raw bar. Four different kinds of caviar with all the accoutrement. Oysters, Mussels, huge boiled Shrimp. An omelet bar, pasta bar, all different kinds of salads, steak, shrimp, scallops, boccancini with tomatoes, greens, delicious hummus.
Chip Fox
Great place to treat yourself! The plates are as good looking as they taste. Staff is very friendly and attentive without being bothersome. The poke was a great appetizer and the seafood trio was cooked to perfection.
Kelvin Williams
The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Such a beautiful atmosphere! We, my family and myself, thoroughly enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset while enjoying scrumptious dishes!
Michelle Collins
I had shrimp which were outta-this-world amazing. They were plump and juicy and cooked to perfection. I also had two different types of salads and roasted veggies which were delicious. The dessert area is overwhelming in the best way. Every single thing looked exciting and tasty which made it super hard to just pick a few. I tried the coconut cake, ice cream, a pecan tart, a macaroon, and a lemon cupcake...each one was fresh and decadent.
Marianela Gamboa
I was not impressed with this restaurant at all although it had great reviews. The tuna tartar was good, the main course was ok, same as my husband’s dish. The food is just ok. On the positive side the place is nice and the atmosphere is lovely. I want to give it a second chance though, I want to try their brunch. I also went there late at night and couldn’t see the sunset or the views, and maybe the cook was tired I’m not sure. For now I just give it 3 stars just because the food did not meet my expectations but I will go again soon.
Linda B
We went for brunch. It wasn't worth the money. Everything was just okay, nothing was seasoned very well. None of the hot dishes I had were hot and a couple were cold, most notably the undercooked Eggs Benedict - yuck! Also, everything is crammed into too small of an area considering how many things they have going on. For the price, I expected way better. At least our table had a nice view. Definitely better off just going to First Watch.
Fernando Toledo
Server was great. Steak had to be refired. Totally fine. Everything was delicious. Only real complaint was the bartender was not engaging or hospitable to my parents as they waited for a table to celebrate my mothers birthday. They tried having a conversation with her and she basically shut them down and demanded what beverages they wanted. Its not going to keep us from coming back. This time
C M
Atmosphere was great. Service was great. My shrimp and lobster bisque only had 2 pieces on meat in it and the people I was with said the same. I didn't care for the oysters. I have had better. The Grouper was amazing. The server suprised my friend with a birthday desert including the candle. It said happy birthday on the cake. We will definately be back.
Russell Moore
Food and service were excellent! Our server was very helpful and pleasant, and brought us an anniversary treat, even though we were too full to order dessert. The hostess also remembered to wish us a happy anniversary, a very nice touch!
Marjorie Stephens
Lots of places claim Sunday Brunch around town. Only a few have buffets and unlimited mimosas. Even fewer focus on seafood with a great view of the bay. Oystercatchers has all these things at brunch. On special occasions its busy and the place is pricy -$75 each last time. But worth it. Service is quite good as well. We also went there for a weekday lunch is its fine. Good quality. My only gripe is the markup on a glass of wine is in the 4X range. That's a bit too much. Overall, you can tell its a Hyatt.
Nicole Crowell
One of my favorite Brunch Spots in Tampa. The view is very scenic and the food is PHENOMENAL!!!! Yes, it’s a little pricey but for that price, I believe you get a quality that is unparalleled. I’ve held my birthday brunch there several times, and recently held my MBA graduation brunch there as well.
David Saporsky
The food was extremely fresh and perfectly executed, and the service was top notch. Our waitress was able to clearly explain the oyster selections and make an informed recommendation regarding our wine pairing for the grouper and mahi. 5 Stars, would definitely go again.
Tim Gogel
Great food. Recommend the tuna as the main entree. Calamari comes highly recommended as a starter. Donald gave my wife and I amazing service. We will be back!
James Heather
I have been to Oystercatchers many times and it never disappoints. It is beautiful and romantic. The servers are always friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. I've never had a bad dish here or an unpleasant experience.
Kevin Poitras
Worth the wind...After you exit the highway you wonder if you are being scammed winding through the narrow tree lined lane around the Hyatt Rocky Point. At the end though you will be rewarded with a contemporary space with a beautiful view across the bay. The food was fabulous. This my third visit I sampled all 3 oyster varieties and then the snapper prepared perfectly. Brocholini crunchy and buttery. Finished off with a triple chocolate dessert. Expansive wine list to accompany your meal. A bit pricey, but it is the type of place for special occasions. Outside seating available if the weather is good.
Greg Sweet
Had 3 meals here over our stay, they were all very good. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty, and the service was uniformly outstanding!
Alma Kee
This is absolutely the BEST BRUNCH in Tampa Bay. From the moment you are seated the sparkling wine is flowing. With a raw bar and sushi and all of the typical brunch foods, you will barely have room for a dessert from the expansive dessert room. The Hyatt's Chefs are the best and this brunch clearly illustrates their impeccable taste
Amanda Maresca
This visit marks 8 years we have been coming to Oystercatchers for our anniversary, the service and experience all around is 5 stars. Upon reviewing the menu I ordered the Beef Fillet with blue cheese grits, that was not a piece of steak 🥩, it was pure art. The grits had the texture of cashmere and taste was 10/10, never had a more perfectly cooked steak! Added crab cakes to the entree, 10/10
Y Perri
My favorite brunch in Tampa, hands down. The selection is perfect for all types of eaters. The option of mimosas or making your own Bloody Mary is perfect. It is quite pricey so it’s not an every weekend meal but for special occasions it’s perfect.
Brigitte Lee
Omg AMAZING!! Casual fine dining restaurant located at Rocky Point near the Hyatt Hotel. Inside and outside seating available. Recommend reservations. Great views overlooking the bay while you dine. Great entrees and drinks. Entrees average from $22-$54 depending on what you order. We come here at least once per year for our anniversary dinner and the food and service is always amazing. Wait staff is very attentive to refills and very knowledgeable of the menu offerings. Recommendations are on point and you definitely won't be disappointed dining here!
I ordered the Sea Scallops (pan seared) which was served with rice pilaf and broccoli. The veggies and starch are always chef selections and not indicated on the menu. They vary as well. I've had this same dish before with mixed veggies and risotto which was also amazing. My husband ordered the wood grilled snapper which was very tasty, flaky, and juicy. So much flavor. We ordered the potato crab stack as an appetizer and for drinks we ordered the strawberry mojito and volcanic sunset. For dessert we got the sticky toffee pudding to go. All very good. Cindy was our waitress this evening and she was absolutely amazing! The best waitress we've had over the years we've been coming here. So friendly and I really appreciated her recommendations.
Steve Choongwoo Ko
It was very good meal. I ordered a grilled snapper. They grilled it with the scale on the snapper for the crispy texture of the food, which I didnt know. I accidentally ate the skin and asked to the manager about it. She explained that they grill it with scale on the fish for the texture. They felt sorry for that they didnt inform me about the scale. They took my dish out of the bill. Their food and serving were both very good.
Genevieve K
The place looks really nice and the views of the water are amazing. We waited for 20 minutes even though there were only 5 tables that were occupied. Then we waited another 10 minutes to order drinks. A couple sat next to us and the server was quick to take their orders. Ugh.. When started to order the food, server did not go through specials or the catch of the day, which she did for the couple next to us. Ugh... After more waiting, food came and look good. The Lobster mac n cheese I ordered had a hair in it. The server did not come back to check on our table at all during the meal and only at the end when everyone was done, did she ask about the food. She offered to make a new mac n cheese but I declined since it would have taken more time and I was feed up with the service.
Tony Davis
Went with a large group; wait staff was courteous and worked with a sense of urgency to assist the table. Great atmosphere on the Bay, with a variety of dining areas to suit your taste and preferred view. The food was very good and the drink selection was appropriate. Highly recommend!
Brad McLaughlin
The shrimp were very very large, unlike most places that say jumbo shrimp and bring you small guys.
Service was friendly, quick, and polite. Our order arrived in a normal time frame and out of the 5 of us, no plates were messed up.
Only bad thing for the whole lunch was a nail sticking up in my chair I sat on. Didn't cause any damage so I didn't make a fuss and just told my waiter they need to get it repaired before the next guest.
J.C Ford
Great view of Tampa Bay food and service outstanding would recommend it to anyone.
Cody Arnold
Great oysters, a bit pricy but worth it!
Tremaine Sawyer
This place ladies and gentlemen was a good dining experience and expensive. We only went for appetizers and spent $80. The premium oysters were huuuggggeee and the select were more on the smaller side. They did not have a perfect medium, however, were delicious. We didn't care too much for the mussels, we generally prefer a wine and garlic base, in comparison to theirs. They definitely had some appealing entrees had we had the appetite for would have indulged. Staff worked as a team and much older and experienced staff.
Lam Nguyen
The price is high for brunch buffet, but it's well worth it. Has a good size selection. Every food is made fresh. It doesn't seem like the food has been sitting out. The brunch as comes with all you can drink mimosa. There's a pasta cooking bar, omelette bar, and dessert bar. Has Bloody Mary station. Just the works.
Jessica Lin
Great place, so convenient to the airport! We have a child with an egg allergy and they actually made a special dish of chicken tenders, just for him. Hands down the best chicken tenders I've ever had - I almost wish I had ordered them, too! The rest of the meal was delicious, my fish tacos had goat cheese on it, which was a very tasty addition. And then the sourdough bread...oohh it was so good! Especially with the butter - we got some extra to go and it was a very good decision! We also got a chocolate torte for dessert that was complimentary - I should caveat by saying that we had pretty slow service at the beginning of our meal, but they really did everything they could afterwards to make up for it, and we appreciated it. I'm tempted to go back to this place for our return flight!
Joshua Eickmeier
My wife and I went here for dinner and we made a reservation for 30 minutes before sundown. We had the perfect seats - right by the window and the view was truly spectacular. The oysters and our meals were great, and the desserts were huge! Everything came a little slow - so don't go here if you are in a hurry, but we did not mind at all. I would recommend this restaurant highly!
Edd
We went here for Sunday brunch. What a treat! So many awesome dishes to pick from. Bananas foster was AWESOME! Sunday brunch is a buffet style meal. It was EXCELLENT! Well worth the money.
Lisa Martino
Absolutely love this place! Their brunch is unbelievable. While some may balk at the price, believe me when I say it is worth every single penny. I've also been here for lunch snd dinner. Reservations are highly recommended, as are the calamari fries!
Kimbra Valachovic
Brunch buffet was great, service very good, shocked to see that groups of 6+ are TAXED on the imposed gratuities!!! Never heard such a thing. Manager backed it up with a lame excuse but further online research debunks their excuse. They are raking in thousands of dollars under false pretense. Curious if they’re picketing the difference, paying to the date or what.... The servers and guests need to know this.
Desiree Garcia Arce
Best food and service by Nathallie our server! Our first time at Oystercatchers celebrating my Birthday she was so sweet to offer to take a photo of myself wth my husband. We will definitely be coming back!
Roderick Moore
The Scallops and their Signature Grill Seafood Compilation are Par Excellence!! The Gulf view plus the Gulf Sunset make for an Awesome Evening. The Live piano music is also an atmosphere enhancer. Great wait Staff and attentive Managers. Well worth it!!!!
Lastly DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT A SLICE OF DECADENT KEY LIME PIE!!!
RICHARD LLOSA
My wife and I had dinner there this evening. I must say that was one of the best dinners I have had in quite a while. I had the Loch Salmon, my wife had the chicken. Both were superb. The bosc pear salad was equally outstanding. All of this combined with terrific service and a beautiful view of causeway and surrounding water and mangroves made an extraordinary evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great dining experience. This is one terrific restaurant.
Matt Noble
Consistently one of the best seafood restaurants there is. This was our 5th time at oyster catchers (each time we visit the Hyatt we always eat there) and everything was excellent as usual. Some of the freshest and well prepared seafood you can have. Strongly recommend to head to oyster catchers as soon as you can!
Brandy Ryals
Pricey but worth it. The lobster Mac & Cheese was to die for. Our waiter was very attentive and even had our transportation arranged back to our hotel when we were finished. Highly recommend

Great new menu and awesome view

This restaurant which had great views of Tampa Bay and a covered outdoor seating area was more than satisfactory. The place itself was nicely decorated, our waitress was very friendly, and the food was excellent. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, as well as worth the price. Would definitely eat here again.
Mical Solomon
Outstanding food and service. The keyboard player was excellent, and was able to play every request we threw at him. The servers were very attentive. Will definitely return to try other menu selections.
Michael Shaw
Went to dinner last night here for my mom’s birthday. It was me, her, my partner and special needs brother at dinner. Our server, Donald, was very professional and made it an even more pleasant experience for my mother on her special day. Donald was understanding of our needs and we all left with a positive experience. My mom was very impressed with the quality of service received and rates this experience towards the top of her list. My partner and I have dined here together before and plan to come back. Thank you Oystercatchers!
Todd Merrill
Very chill atmosphere, outdoor seating is pleasant on the water. The lobster and crab bisque was memorable.

Love the view and this places mussels and Cajun shrimp tacos were amazing thank you Anthony for the AMAZING SERVICE you are awesome
Travel Reviews
I think I've given 5 stars to possibly 2 or 3 other restaurants since Google reviews was invented. My wife and I went for the first time last night. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. Now, when I say the food was fantastic, I don't just mean that it tasted good. It did. But, also each dish was prepared in a very innovative way that gave it a truly distinctive taste and texture. Eg, I would not have thought of roasted almond slices in seafood chowder but it was a perfect compliment. The creme brulee had caramelized popcorn on top and a slight sprinkle of sea salt.
The price made it a good value. Exclusive of the tip, the meal was $210 which included soup, appetizers, higher end entrees, desert and a bottle of very good wine.
Finally, the waiter was always close by but not encroaching. Food was prepared quickly, plates removed promptly, and water and wine glasses were always full.
After my extraordinary disappointment in Bern's, I was getting close to abandoning my hope that Tampa residents had the capacity to identify good food but Oystercatchers and Ulele (separate review) have reignited my hope.
Blob
I went here with my aunt for a private event. I have to say that the food was excellent, the waiters were very polite and kind, the dealers for the blackjack tables were very good and humorous. The desserts had a brownie but easily, the best brownie/chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. I wish I could have the recipe for it.
Frank Di Leo
The atmosphere was great and the food was phenomenal!.Be prepared to spend some money here but it was well worth the food and the view

Best Sunday brunch ever. A must try
Michael M
The food was amazing. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and chocolate peanut butter cup. Service was great, our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. The view was excellent. I would definitely eat here again.

The BEST place in Tampa for oysters!! The atmosphere is beyond words. The soft music playing in the background after a long day at work is heaven. They have this smoked salt for the bread which is SO GOOD. Their pork belly with the apple chutney is a party in the tummy and well, if you are a connoisseur of a finer cocktail, the Smoked Manhattan is the best in town. This is a place that everyone needs to experience at least once. Remember: Pork Belly. Oysters. Smoked Manhattan. Smoked Salt for bread & butter. And there you have it. You cannot go wrong with those items. The service is always fantastic - I adore those men and women that bust their tails doing such a great job. Thank you Oystercatchers!

Yes, yes and all the yesses! First of all I did not realize how difficult it is to find a truly seafood centric restaurant in Tampa. Honey and I had family visiting from out of town and they were interested in trying some seafood while here in Tampa. Seeing as some traveled from far we wanted it to be a nicer dinner in a fancier setting. After much googling we found this place. I was so nervous about bringing our guests here because it was not a place we had been to in the past, I did not want it to turn out horrible and have them leave with a bad experience. Well I am happy to report everything was great! I am so happy we took the plunge and you should too. I read many reviews here on Yelp and some seemed so disconnected from my experience that I wondered if they were talking about the same restaurant.
Oystercatchers is located inside the Grand Hyatt, when pulling in the views are gorgeous. This is looks like a huge resort with beautiful landscaping, there are clears signs that direct you right to the restaurant and there is also valet parking. When booking our reservation for 6 I requested a window seat and that is exactly what we got! Truthfully I do not think there is a bad seat in that place they all have window views. We arrived for a 7:30pm reservation and checked in with the hostess, as we were a little early we decided to wait at the bar. After grabbing a round of drinks we sat in one of the 2 little lounge areas directly across from the bar, this was a really nice space. I also want to note that there is a keyboard player that is awesome. He plays classic and newer songs on that thing and it really is cool to listen to a bit of a more classical spin on Metallica or even pop songs.
Shortly after being seated our server came by to introduce himself and his assistant. They were both pleasant and very attentive. We ordered a second round of drinks and some appetizers. While waiting our server brought out their fresh and warm house bread with some butter and a black rock salt? I don't exactly remember what it was but omg it was all delicious! Go light on the salt, a little goes a long way.
For appetizers we ordered:
-Oysters: delicious and tasted fresh
-Mussels: Delicious, not small like you usually get at most places that claim to have "mussels"
Crab cakes: truthfully this was not my choice and I am not a fan of them, but I gave it a shot and I think I've been eating wrongly made crab cakes my whole life (that is whenever I have willed myself to give them a shot)
For entrees:
-I got the Sea Scallops (sautéed) for my sides I got the broccolini and requested to sub the wild rice for the sweet potato risotto - The Scallops were big, fresh and tasty, the broccolini was cooked perfectly (seriously I hate overcooked vegetables), and the sweet potato risotto was to die for (I'm salivating just thinking about this dish).
-Honey got the blackened grouper as it comes with the broccolini and the wild rice. He reported back that he loved his dish. Everyone else at the table was also happy with their choices ranging from different types of fish and another scallop dish.
After appetizers, entrees and drinks we were stuffed but we decided to allow ourselves sometime so that we could squeeze in dessert. Everything had been so good we wanted to give dessert a shot. It did not disappoint! Honey ordered a glass of neat Grand Marnier and we decided to split the chocolate dessert it was a very rich fudge with some nuts and strawberries, simply delicious! Everyone else loved there desserts as well!
This is a hidden gem in Tampa. It is perfect for a romantic dinner. We plan to be back soon!
Kevin Burton
Oystercatchers is truly one of the best kept secrets of Upper Tampa Bay. The food is amazing with a wood grilled flavor. The service is always impeccable too. Check it out if you have never been.
Rebeca P
The chocolate peanut butter cup with banana is freaking amazing. We got the seafood tower and it was really good but the star of the meal was the chocolate peanut butter banana cup. I'd come back here just for dessert. I would also recommend the smoked bourbon Manhattan - they bring it out with a smoking piece of wood over it which looks pretty sweet.
Jonna Pantelis
The food was phenomenal! The view from our table was amazing. The ambiance was great. The service was a little slow but was well worth the wait & totally understandable considering how busy it was. I love this spot.
Lisa
First time there and everything was amazing! The cocktails, the oysters, yellow tail. Service way above average. Our waiter Mike was attentive and has great suggestions. My favorite restaurant!
Mariette Bourne
Delicious food, excellent service, gorgeous view. I love coming here. The quality of the seafood is excellent. Staff goes out of their way to ensure customers are pleased . Always a pleasurable experience.
Jay Upchurch
Great restaurant with good views. We really enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller. The whole Yellowtail was delicious, crispy yet moist, also enjoyed the Seafood Mix. Large portions with attentive staff.
Carol Dekkers
Best brunch anywhere. Pricey ($55pp) but includes unlimited mimosas/bloody marys and a wide (extensive+++) assortment of selections from fresh oysters and shrimp to sushi to omelette and pasta stations to Benedict's to... (It goes on and on.) Save room for dessert too!
John Martinez
Had brunch with my bride of 24 years. We both love this place for the atmosphere and the food is phenomenal. We spent two hours enjoying the view and each others company.

The best! **but be aware no normal buffet because of covid** and their replacement menu was small; so was the dish I ordered. I ended up ordering 2 ~$20 brunch entrees. WAMP. They were delicious though
Kait Wagner
Zak took care of us and made our experience just wonderful! The entire staff was the same way. Highly recommend the scallops as well. I will definitely be back during my next visit to Tampa!
Mark Paluch
Very nice
Charles was outstanding
Highly recommended
Christopher Oliver
The buffet had loads of options and was clean and replenished often. The middle has a pasta bar, an omelette bar, and about 20 hot burners full of everything from sirloin to sea bass to cinnamon French toast. They have loads of fresh seafood, sushi, vegetarian options, caviars, and pastries.
Doug R
One of my favorite hidden Tampa Bay places for meeting friends and business clients. Only complaint is the service and food quality not always up to Oystercatchers high prices.
Janelle Zacherl
Went for Sunday brunch, and it was amazing. Bottomless mimosas, raw bar, sushi, pasta station... Hard to beat. We'll be back the next time we're in Tampa. Our server, Lauren, was so friendly.
Wq Chen
Arrived 9:10pm. Was served water immediately but waited 10 minutes before a waiter showed up after I made the request through the busboy. Food presentation (cramped together) is not what I expect from a high end restaurant. Grilled seafood is fine, nothing special. Bread is very good. Ambiemt was on the noisy side.
DJ Meadows
Brunch was amazing. The staff was very attentive and the food selection is something everyone can enjoy. Went with a group of 9 from work and not a single complaint. Great job!
Ann
This restaurant boasts fantastic views of Old Tampa Bay and outstanding seafood. I agree with it being an awesome view - a sunset to die for - but all components of my meal, specialty cocktail, appetizer, entree, and dessert were just OK and pricey.
James Duane
The food was incredible with great attention to detail. The only negative I would mention is the Grand Hyatt Casitas pool right next to the balcony seating. It was a little disruptive. Not horrible but still something to keep in mind when looking for seating.
Susan Joblon
I was here for Sunday brunch.....its a bit pricey but if you like mimosas, then it will be worth the money. Its unlimited mimosa s and they do a good job of making sure that your glass remains full! The spread of food is good and I didnt have anything I didnt enjoy. I loved eggs Benedict, but usually at a buffet I dont get them, however, they were delicious here ! They were cooked perfectly and tasted like they had just come out of the kitchen. I will definitely be back to this place...there was too much food that I didnt get to try !
Bob Coates
The Oyster in Oystercatchers ought to have been thrown back! Size of $00.05 each at $3.50 a pop. Server was so embarrassed she took the charge off our ticket. This once harbinger of Tampa must do dining has lost it’s class. Overcooked Yellow fin tuna, bitter Brussels sprouts terribly over cooked. It’s sad…
Alan Smith
Even in the pandemic, Oystercatchers comes thru with great appetizers, entrees and desserts. The staff were all masked and professional, and the tables were well spaced. Great ambiance. Always great food.
Maya Verros
Business dinner with friends. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable. Specialty drinks were great. Seafood "tower" customized to our liking. Plenty of entree choices to satisfy all eight of us.
Scorpio Moon
!!THE BEST THANKSGIVING I’VE HAD IN MY TENDER 34 years!! I had not seen the menu prior (idk if there is one released) and was pleasantly surprised by the endless options.
This was my first time at Oystercatchers and I was blown away...the professional and thorough staff, the music, food display, scenery-just the entire ambiance was just amazing and memorable! This is totally my new spot! 👏👏Worth every penny👏👏
Kitto Vongprachanh
Hands down recommend the sunday brunch they offer. the food quality is amazing, the price is pretty normal for a brunch held at that type of place. the lobster bisque was awesome. Im not sure what meat they had cut, not sure if it was prime rib or what not but I didn't enjoy it. the flavor didn't seem right, tasted like chemical for some odd reason. but I do recommend all the other food, unfortunately there are no crab legs lol. they had shrimp and oysters though!
Rob Henderson
She said Yes! Great food, great staff and great drinks. Our server was outstanding and the chef even brought my future wifes filet to our table to ensure it was cooked to her liking. I can't say enough about the wonderful ecperience. The sunset view was amazing!
Andrew Jesse
The food was amazing and Justin B and his wonderful staff helped me plan a wonderful proposal outside on the private beach. Justin and his staff helped set everything up and worked with me to make our night absolutely magical!!!! The staff did a great job making us feel welcome and accommodating our requests - we will be back! Thanks!

This place has the best of all things. Great seafood, impeccable service and atmosphere that would blow your mind including a perfect window to view the sunset. I ate 12 meals in Tampa and 2 of them were at Oystercatchers. The first visit was so delicious I just had to go back. I suggest their smoked whiskey drink or the Kentucky Grandma. As far as food goes, the lobster mac and cheese is to DIE for and you can share with your entire softball team. If I am ever in Tampa again, this will be my first visit.

Too bad I was not hungry when I visited this place. The ambiance was sensational. Great service, great food and the sunset at the veranda was breathtaking

I had a crab lobster bisque that was fantastic. I needed to write this review to let you, the reader, know that you need to try this bisque. Trust me, order it! Do it!

Views are beautiful, food is great. Very nice wine list and staff is very nice and helpful. Bar tenders were great, loved the strawberry basil mojito. Johana was excellent, gave great suggestions and was so sweet.

Very fortunate to have a great restaurant on Tyne hotel property. Oysters were top notch as was the service

This was our first dining experience at Oystercatchers. Food, atmosphere and our server Michael were all top notch. We will definitely return soon with our friends!

Lobster mac n cheese was great.

It’s pricey but worth it! The service is excellent and the food is too. Portions are very generous! The calamari fries are some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Great views and great food. A little on the pricey side, but well worth the experience. Great service and wonderful sunsets, so try for a window seat. Sunday brunch is the best in Tampa!

Came here for my birthday last night and it was by far the most amazing seafood I think I have ever had! Lobster mac and cheese was so good I think I could eat it every day and the salted caramel creme brulee was to die for!!!

This spot is a little hidden jem. You could never find this from street traffic bc its hidden back in the furthest corner of the Hyatt.
We've been here for date night, meals with friends meals with staff who fly in to TPA, and with clients and always had a great experience. Good staff all around and absolutely great seafood.
The bread alone makes it worth it. Beautiful sunset views over the water on the bay make the upscale pricing seem like a good value.
We've had their seabass, snapper, lobster mac, brussel sprouts, gorgonzola grits, steak, shrimp, mix seafood and all have been cooked perfectly, seasoned well and will continue to come back for more.
On top of great the casual resort atmosphere, we think the lobster bisque is a stand out. They use big pieces of lobster nice balance of cream and a twist with pistachio. Paired with the dinner bread, you could make this a whole meal.

I've never spent this much on a meal for myself before but it was so worth every penny! Drew was an amazing waiter and put up with all of shenanigans. I had the mahi mahi grilled with a side of lobster Mac and an oyster for an appetizer and it was the best meal I've ever had. Others in our party had ahi poke and the crab stuffed lobster and every bite I tried was better than the one before it. Highly recommend this place!

Very nice food was awesome, cool experience. They were able to accommodate me in my power wheelchair.

Wow! Just realized that I accidentally gave this place 1 Star review last year when it deserves nothing less than 5 Starts. My experience at this restaurant has always been amazing! I sincerely apologize to Oystercatchers for this.

I haven't been here for many years. It is still the same as far as class, atmosphere, service and food.

Very nice. A comfortable place for an elegant meal. Great view of the bay. Pricey, but a great value for the quality of food. Creative drinks with a grounded feel.

Ate at the restaurant while we stayed at the Hyatt. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience so relaxing and romantic. I absolutely would love to come back. One of the best dining experiences I have had.

Excellent food. Awesome view!

FANTASTIC food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend this place for dinner and Sunday brunch. Expensive but worth it. Great experience both times we've been here. Can't wait to return.

Ginormous buffet. Too bad you can only do this buffet sparingly without adding on blubber. Wonderful selection of hot and cold treats, meats, fish, shellfish, desserts, salads, side dishes, and more. Excellent service as well.
Alessandro Annoscia
Really good food, service and the view is just a big part of the experience

Phenomenal view and great service. Thought it was a little overpriced, but very enjoyable. I ordered the ribeye and it was quite good. The Cajun oysters were excellent.

Had a wonderful dinner with a large party. Debbie was out server and she provided outstanding service. Excellent food and exceptional service. Debbie’s attention to providing great service made the business dinner a success.

Oystercatchers is a "reasonably" priced fresh fish restaurant. Complimentary starter, fresh baked bread with homemade butter and smoked salt. For dinner I had the Grilled Gulf Coast Snapper which came with Asparagus and Fried Rice. Snapper was perfectly cooked and was excellent.
Sean Craft
Terrific spot for a date night. Great meal in a beautiful setting.

We got married here and it is fabulous! The food is amazing and fresh. I love the view--great place for a small wedding! Thank you so much for everything!
Chris Simmers
Overall a great place to have dinner. The views are very nice, along with being able to sit outside. The one downside is that they are right along the bay and they get quite a few bugs. If you're hoping to sit outside, make sure to have them turn on the misters. It will get rid of all the bugs.
Annie Wright
The food was amazing the oysters are the best I ever had and the lobster Mac and cheese couldn't have enough of . The service is on point and very attentive. Will recommend this restaurant. It's worth every penny.
Sandra Jimenez
We went for brunch. The price was $55. The food was ok, nothing crazy..the service was really bad. We had to ask the waiter for water, silverware, coffee..very bad for a brunch that cost $55. You obviously go there for the experience and service was not on point.
Shelley Weber
Delicious food, delightful waitress and beautiful view of downtown Tampa from across the bay. We had a memorable evening of dining.
