Nicki’s sits right outside the Tampa Airport and was the perfect diner for a great breakfast after arriving into the area. It seems like a consistently busy place and the staff appears to be efficient and works hard. We were seated after a short wait and had our meals out quickly. The food is definitely filling and comes in large portions. I could have used a nap after, but we left happy.

We stopped here prior to our flight departing Tampa. The diner was full of locals which is usually a good sign. The menu is large, the staff friendly, and quick. Our meal came out in no time and did not disappoint.

Food was good but our waitress was great! I ordered the biscuits debris which is biscuits and gravy sausage ham and bacon over easy eggs and substituted the home fries for fresh fruit and the fruit was extremely fresh. We also got a California omelet and cream cheese actually really works in an omelette!

I loved the food here. The portions were a little small but the food tasted great and came out fast. The menu was pretty unique so that was great. When you go to a diner you expect a lot of the same. You did get that but they made it their own. The service was good and seemed personal. However I wasn't offered a single refill on my drink that to me is a big deal for service. Other than that it was a great experience. Definitely worth a return visit.

I don't go out for breakfast. I find it hard to pay for something that's relatively easy to make, and meant to be enjoyed at home in your pajamas reading the latest "help wanted" ads... But if I have to meet a coworker in the morning, I like to eat at Nicki's, where the food is delicious and sticks with you till well into the afternoon. I'm a biscuits and gravy man myself, and here they serve it with your choice of 2 eggs on top. I like mine sunny side up for maximum ooze. You might be hungry again by suppertime, but likely not. The coffee is a little weak and flavorless, but served with a smile. The atmosphere is old-school dirty diner. Don't worry, the grime is just there for charm. The clientele are all part of the experience, and these are my people. Last time though, a few of my people got a little rowdy and had to be escorted out. Again, all part of the ambiance...

We were here a couple weeks ago while on vacation in Florida. Had a very yummy breakfast before we headed out for our day. A storm came in and our plans were cancelled. The rain was pouring so hard, so we headed back to this restaurant. The waitress, I believe her name was Colleen, if not I apologize, was kind, brought us drinks, and visited about the weather and gave us helpful information on things we could do, even with the storm. We left and headed out to Miami. We plan to come back to Tampa to complete our activities that we're cancelled due to the storm and we will definitely eat here again. Great food and amazing customer service.

Stopped at Nicki’s for breakfast on our way out of Tampa. I only wish I’d found this place earlier! Bar none - the best hash browns I’ve EVER had!! Crispy and topped with fresh green peppers, onions and sausage. Angie was our server and she was excellent. Highly recommend this place for the Nicki’s breakfast and the biscuits debris. Both were wonderful!

It's absolutely highly recommended! Fast service, PERFECT waitress, my husband loves the country fried steak(better than cracker barrel) fried eggs and has browns, I had pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns and coffee. Everything was good. Will be returning tomorrow. Great cheap prices too.

We visited on a busy Sunday morning. The wait was only 5 minutes and after being seated everything went quickly. Waitress was polite and helpful with recommendations. The “Biscuit Debris” was phenomenal. It’s like sausage, biscuits and gravy on steroids.

The food was great and the portions were very generous. The best thing about this place is it is affordable for most budgets. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been coming here for years and I am happy to say that Nicki’s survived COVID and is back in full force. The food is good, the service is great, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I ate at the counter today and watching the servers and kitchen staff work and interact made me feel like I was eating breakfast at a family gathering.

Usually I come here sat or Sunday to eat with family this place makes some of the most delicious breakfast and lunch in Tampa I Usually get the biscuits and gravy which in my opinion are the best around 10/10

I’ve been to this restaurant a few time before and I’m sure I will come again. Some times are are a little slow but the service is good. This time I tried the Cowboy’s Skillet and I thought it was ok. I was hoping it had more meat then it actually did but I still liked it.

Always love finding a local breakfast joint away from home and Nicki's does not disappoint. The food was delicious, the eggs were perfect in every style we ordered, and make sure you ask to sit in Kathy's section. She's a 24 year veteran at Nicki's and total sweetheart with a great sense of humor!

We always drove by this place and wanted to try it. It seemed like an All-American homemade breakfast place and it was. The service was good the food was homemade just as I expected. I order the vegetable eggs, pancakes, biscuits, french toast and a slice of their daily fresh baked white bread just so I could sample a few things. I did not order any meats with breakfast this time but I will be back to try more of their dishes. If you're looking for an American home-cooked breakfast this is the place on Hillsborough in Tampa.

I love this place it's a throwback to great diner food, if you like good ole greasy hash browns and delicious breakfast food with a side of delicious french toast all under 20 bucks for 2. this is a great place . I give it a 8.3, just good old fashioned great tasting diner breakfast food and super nice awesome service from the staff you hope for at a place like this.

Always good breakfast here. Staff is great. Restaurant has a classic diner feel. Come before 10:30am on the weekends to avoid a line. Bring your charged phone to scan the sign and bring up the menu. Very relaxing feel even when they are busy. Covered area outside to wait if there is a line.

We stopped in Nicki's on a Sunday morning around 10 am for breakfast. The parking lot was completely full, so we had to park in the plaza down the street. Although there was a wait for a table, we were able to grab spots at the bar immediately. They were very busy and it took a few minutes for our server, Rhonda, to come over. She was very vice and we got coffee and ordered quickly. My wife got the Nicki's Breakfast and I got the Breakfast Burrito. The hash browns with my wife's breakfast were super crunchy, which are often hard to find. She loved them. The burrito was very good too. Our orders came out very fast and the food was nice and hot. However, it's the patrons and parking situation that will prevent us from coming back. There were several old men who were extremely rude to my wife for no reason. Because they were busy, cars were parking all over the lot, constantly circling, and driving the wrong way. While these issues are somewhat beyond the control of the owners, it's just not worth the hassle.

Diner food, fresh and hot as can be, super duper fast. Nothing fancy--nothing special either frankly--but the price was DEF right. the bacon was crispy like it was home cooked (not exactly a compliment but people s taste varies I guess, I like it a little more soft), the eggs were nice and light and slippery, the hash browns were piping hot and the breakfast was filling. Friendly staff and close the Vets Expressway.

Update : I come here whenever I'm on this side of town. I just love their omelets and Hashbrowns. They have the most wonderful home made bread. I get it to go because I work in my truck. I appreciate how good the food is even when it's to go! Great staff and I noticed today they have glass partitions between the booths and everyone s wearing a mask. Thank you! AMAZING! you'd think breakfast would be easy but it's not. They did an amazing job with the hashbrowns. Crunchy without making it dry. Eggs were very fluffy. Coffee was good and not bitter. Also, bread- white - was amazing and so fresh. Im in love with this place.

Always delicious food and great service! This is definitely a diner you could eat at every day. It's soooo good! They have an awesome menu. I recommend the Biscuit Debris.... two biscuits, awesome sausage gravy mixed with bacon and topped with two eggs (any way you like), with a side of homestyle potatoes.

Nicki's Omelette & Grill is a wonderful place to eat. You seat yourself, fast service, and delicious food! You cant go wrong choosing to eat here. There's many options to to choose from and I haven't been let down yet. I had the burrito breakfast was my firat time trying it and it definitely hit the spot for me.Their food portion is very well that I'm full but not over stuffed.

Went to this place because of the reviews and didnt really want the hotel breakfast. So a few buddies and I went here. Great service, good food. I had the cowboy skillet and it was great. I will definitely be back and enjoy another cowboy skillet.

Hands down the best breakfast or brunch place in Florida, arguably the United States. Food comes out hot, delicious, quickly, and surprisingly affordable even during today’s prices. The staff is always so welcoming and hospitable. The ambiance and atmosphere is casual and relaxed, almost like the stereotypical atmosphere of a diner or restaurant in the 1940s. Will always be coming here to get my steak and eggs done right.

Entering it's not that big but seated right away. Kristina was my server very nice and quick. I had the biscuit debris was ok large portions, gravy was ok not the best I've had but still good eggs well there eggs, home fries just cut potatoes not a lot of flavor. It was just ok for me. Now I did see there omelette and must say they did look great! Have to try the next time I'm in. Over all I'll be back. Thank you

While visiting my daughter in Tampa, we visited nicki's omelet grill. The food was very good! The scratch made raisin bread was a wonderful! I was totally shocked to find out it was scratch made. Our waitress was very polite and funny. It's nice to see someone who cares about the customer for a change. All in all I give Nicki's a 9 outta 10! I will be a return customer.

I've been a waitress and am very forgiving with issues in a restaurant but I was disappointed. We got there and got seated pretty quickly but service was super slow, I think we were there well over an hour. Most of our food was room temperature at best. Food tasted good but had to send one of our meals back 2 times before it came out right and almost none of it was the ideal temperature.

WE LOVE THIS SPOT!!! We go almost every weekend, we've even done take out from them before. It is a smaller spot so the parking lot fills up and so do the tables but their turn around time is top notch. The wait may seem like it will be long but it's never unreasonable. Food does not take long to come out and it's delicious every time. I've tried multiple breakfast items off of their menu and it never disappoints. The waitresses are friendly and it's a positive, busy atmosphere. 100% recommend!!

Linda was an amazing server. My husband was not happy with the hash and jack omelette. It looked like there was hardly any meat in it, mainly just a cheese omelette. We will be back again, but definitely not ordering that omelette again.

Second time eating here. First time was 6 years ago. They are still an amazing breakfast food spot. I had the biscuit debris and was almost sent to a food coma lol The portion size leaves no room in the belly and I saw quite a few people taking food to go. The waitstaff is thorough and helpful with suggestions. 10/10 would reconmend.

Great food. I selected my own ingredients for my omelette and it was delicious. My side order was 3 thick slices of beautiful beefsteak tomato - generous portion and not over-ripe. My reason for not scoring 5 stars was due to my server. Right after she delivered my food, she brought the check. And then never came back to my table again until way after I had finished my meal. Though she walked by my table several times, I had to flag down 2 other staff members to get coffee refills. I even pushed my cup to the edge of the table, as a hint, but she never noticed.

After driving past this place hundreds of times we finally decided to stop in. BEST BREAKFAST DECISION EVER. Our waiter was nice, prompt and we got our food pretty quick. We both had omelets which were fantastic. Looking forward to trying out other menu items.

With a plethora of breakfast joints to choose from in the Tampa area, I settled on Nicki's Omelette & Grill as they offered corned beef hash. It didn't disappoint. I ordered Nicki's Breakfast along with the hash and coffee. It was satisfyingly filling. I asked for soft scrambled eggs which is hard to achieve when cooked on a flat top grill but it was done well. My order came with a choice of bread and I opted for the homemade cinnamon bread. I was a little disappointed as the bread was dry and not sweet as in the traditional cinnamon toast. Service was friendly and on point. I look forward to returning when back in the area.

What a great find. It is what a breakfast diner should be and their speciality seems to be Benedict dishes (which my lovely ordered and enjoyed very much). I ordered the Biscuit and gravy dish which had two over medium eggs on top. Nicely done indeed. It took a while to get in but the turn around from order to plate on the table was amazing. Great stop after a VERY early flight.

Amazing omelets. We had the roadside meat omelet, the kids chiperoo pancake and a eggs with sausage and their homemade raisin breakfast + white bread were good. If you like breakfast meat along with pull pork the roadside meat is a must try. This place gets busy but our waitress always reminded me that we're not forgotten.

Food was good but took forever to get it. Also when I was seated wasn't provided with a menu, no water or coffee offered. Sat for a while and had to motion to the waitress that I would like to order since I was famished. The waitress has worked there for a while, but not very friendly today. This was my first time attending the restaurant. The food is nice and cheap, spent $20 for two meals. Was seated in less than 30 seconds. Waitress came in less than a minute as well. The music was amazing. The perfect mix. The food was the fasted I’ve ever been served. They are very efficient. The sweet tea was nice and sweet even with heavy ice. The raisin bread is TO DIE FOR. It is a must. I had the breakfast bowl with sausage links on the side. Could use a bit of seasoning. But overall it was great. Would get 5 stars if the food was better.

This is the best place to get breakfast in Tampa. They have the nicest staff and some of the best food around. When you walk inside, you feel like they are ready to get you what you need. I didn't know what to order so I went with what the waitress recommended and it was the best. I think it was called biscuit debris but it is 2 biscuits with sausage gravy then 2 fried eggs and cheese all stacked on top of the biscuits with a sprinkle of bacon bits, sausage, and ham. They were the best biscuits I've ever had in my life!

It was daddy daughter morning breakfast and we decided to go to Nikki's. Server was very friendly told her it was our first time she said she would give us an extra minute to look at the menu. We ordered two omelets and sides. Within 5 minutes the omelets were on the table. We were very pleased with the service food and price. Plan on taking the wife and son next time...... Cute breakfast place. The interior design needs a lift as it took me back to a different time. The French Toast seemed soggy, everyone's fries could have been a little crispy, but failed to provide any flavor or seasonings. I came on a day where it seemed to be crowdedly busy and had to wait for 5 minutes near the doorway where other people were coming in and out. They did not do a good job at social distancing as another group of people were behind and right next to our table.The prices are alot cheaper then Waffle House and IHOP, but doesn't help with the unsatisfied feeling I got leaving.

And I can honestly tell you that it was not a mistake! The service from Ms. Caren who sat us and Gwen who was our server was exceptional! The menu has lots to offer and can be a bit overwhelming- in a good way! The same meal we would get at a chain breakfast place was amazing. Portion sizes were perfect! From the outside Nicki’s doesn’t look like much but inside is a treat! Definitely a hometown feel! I would definitely recommend Nicki’s for breakfast! There were seven in our group. We only had to wait a couple minutes and they had a table for us. Carolyn, our efficient and friendly, waitress took our order quickly and had our drinks back to us in a couple minutes. The food was served soon afterwards on hot plates. Went on a friend's recommendation and loved it so much we went back the next day. They decorated and dressed for Halloween making it a fun experience. The menu was extensive and as we worked our way through each dish was above expectation. Food was fresh and still came out of the kitchen fast despite it being busy on both days. They also turn over tables fast and wait was under 20 minutes both days. If all that wasn't impressive enough....they have delicious freshly made bread. You must try the cinnamon raisin bread, its truly a dish of its own. Highly recommend and will come back on my next visit.

Cute little place! Wouldn’t have thought it was much driving by. Picked it from google it was nearby the airport. The seat yourself I think is unorganized but it was myself and one other person so we sat at the bar. Quickly got our drinks and ordered. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich it came with cheese bacon lettuce tomatoes on a croissant!! That’s what sold me was the croissant. It was a great size and very good. $16 for two of us. I would recommend if you are in the area!

The brunch menu pretty much covers anything you want..from eggs Benedict to waffles to steak to burgers. We opted for omelettes and we are not disappointed! The portion sizes are huge! Nobody in my party finished their plate...we were too stuffed! Even though the place was packed, service was super quick! Out waitress, Gwen, was friendly and happy to answer my many questions. Welp! While I feel like the patrons were not used to seeing all this good melanin (LMFAO at all the deer in headlights), the staff was GREAT, especially our server, LISA aka New Girl!!! Nicki's is a neighborhood staple. I love their omelettes and usually get Popeye's or the Wisconsin. In addition, you can never go wrong with their homemade toast. It's so thick and delicious that it's basically it's own meal. I enjoyed the Belgian waffle (delicious and hot), scrambled eggs (that were not dry or overcooked at all) and bacon. My husband had the biscuits and OJ. Our bill was just about $10. No where can you find a high quality, hot breakfast with friendly service for just $10 (that doesn't include tip). This is a great place to stop on your way to the airport if you're heading from Pinellas on Hillsborough Ave. We will go back.

Awesome food. Nick's is great! Because of their fame, there is a downside. Eating breakfast and lunch can be a hassle here. Parking is near impossible to find and often you may have to wait to be seated. If you can handle the wait and being on an overnight xpedition for parking, some of the best breakfast in town.

I had the Greek omelette - crispy bacon, black olives, chopped spinach, and an inordinately large quantity of feta cheese. It was delicious! Grits were well prepared and tasted good. Biscuits and gravy were surprisingly good considering that I seldom find the gravy in most restaurants tasty. It was prepared from a mix, but the addition of crumbled sausage and a little seasoning made it better than most restaurants serve. Food was unimaginatively presented, but the texture and taste of the omelette made me dismiss that as an issue. Price is reasonable. Wait staff was courteous, efficient, attentive, and pleasant. I would definitely eat here again.

To begin--this place is fantastic and I loved it. My wife and I like to try new places. We went there and I was blown away by how great everything was. As a first timer, we got a free sample of their homemade breads and they were delicious. I got the Alaskan omelette, I was not only delicious but it was beautiful. I also got a side of sweet potato pancakes. Again, the only mistake was that I foolishly put syrup on them. They were perfect without syrup. My wife had the banana nut pancakes and really loved them. The whole place has an old diner vibe, but do not expect diner quality food. The attention to quality and presentation is way beyond diner food.

The food is good and homemade, however, I ordered the Jack and hash omelette and it was loaded with cheese, however, they skimped on the corned beef hash. There was hardly any hash inside the omelette. The home fries are homemade and delicious, as is the cinnamon raisin bread. The price is decent and the same with the service. Portion size is decent. I would definitely come back here. Just know they are not very generous when it comes to fillings in their omelets.

I was in town for a few days and like to try local restaurants whenever possible while traveling. Was not disappointed--this place is an off-the-road treasure and absolute delight! The food is decently priced for the portion sizes and delicious; the ambiance is homey and what one thinks of when imagining an American diner; and the staff are helpful and friendly with everyone. My veggie omelet and hashbrowns came out within ten minutes, and my waitress came by often to top off my coffee. I noted that they were on a first-name basis with many of the customers, which tells me that this is a spot people visit regularly. Those are the best places, in my experience. Very glad I decided to eat at Nicki's today, and will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Tampa for more breakfast for lunch.

This was my first time at Nickis and the attempt was there but it I just can't give it anymore than 2 stars. I had the Hash and Jack omelette (omelette with corned beef hash and jack cheese), biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit and coffee. The omelette was lacking in "Hash" and "Jack" so little of it you could hardly see it or even taste it, all I could taste were the eggs. Although the biscuits seemed homemade the gravy was too thick and lukewarm. The service was very good, swift and accurate however you have to leave the table to pay for your meal at the cashier on your way out.

Although I have had many of their great omelettes, this time I had the "BISCUIT DEBRIS". Two buttermilk biscuits covered with country gravy, grilled sausage, bacon, ham & topped with 2 over easy eggs & grated cheddar cheese, choice of potatoes. All that for $8.25. Also hot coffee. They are often compared to Three Coins, both have their strengths and I'm happy at either (but definitely Nicki's for omelettes).

I had driven by here for literally decades and so far never stopped in. What a loss. Classic family breakfast stop. Lots of things made from scratch. Excellent home fries, and biscuits and gravy. And I'm spoiled on B&G, but these pleasantly surprised me for not at home. Egg dishes were light and fluffy, baked goods were remarkable, and coffee was hot. Did I mention they don't charge 'artisanal' prices for these home cooked delights? This can very easily be a regular brekky stop.

As far as diners go, this the real deal in every positive way. Tasty breakfasts whether you go the fruit/veggie/egg white path or the bacon/gravy/potato path. A few years ago I asked a rental car agent at the airport where I might go to get a good breakfast after arriving in Tampa on an early morning flight. Nicki's was her response. Nicki's has been my first official stop after flying into Tampa every year since then. Its relatively close to the airport (northwest corner) and they feature killer breakfasts (filling) sure to please the pickiest of diners. Prices are comparable to your average breakfast joint with a few price savers for the thrifty at heart. Expect a wait to get a table. The place fills fast most any day of the week. Parking also can be a challenge when busy too, although if there was only one person per car in the parking lot rest assured there is space in the dining room to eat.

Large portions and good prices, especially to add on items like an extra egg or avocado. Weekends get crazy busy. Sometimes service can be slow, but it's not out of laziness. Waitresses are always running around taking orders, ringing up customers, and checkin tables. Just give them a moment to get to you. Salmon Benedict, Nicki's special, and homemade bread are top of the list. They are only open until 2pm! This is a breakfast and lunch place, no dinner service.

French toast is normally made with homemade white and homemade cinnamon raisin, but I LOVE the cinnamon raisin - so I just ask for that. Don't expect to receive the same portion as others breakfast places. We had the Paradise and the Popeyes revenge omelette. The portion were a bit small. But the food was good. I could have had more home fries. But we left with a full belly 😊. The only have two bathrooms, a men's room and a ladies room. So you may have to stand and wait to use them. Which I found a bit awkward. This place gets full. So if you plan to visit, early bird gets the worm. They are open from 6:00am to 2:00pm.

Nicki's Omelette & Grill is an excellent place to start your day or stop off for lunch. It looks a little rough on the outside and the parking lot is in a bit of disrepair, but you're going to want to find a spot! When I'm in the area I try to make my way over for a meal. They've got an excellent selection of omelettes and other breakfast fare. I've had a few omelettes (my favorite was the Popeye's Revenge with spinach and bacon!) and the biscuits and gravy and none of them disappointed. There's some lunch sandwiches available as well, including a grouper sandwich which friends said was great and I intend to try (just love breakfast too much). Each time I've been they've had a sign asking you to seat yourself, which, to me, usually means you're in for a long butt-bustin' time before waitstaff decide to come talk to you, but the staff at Nicki's are on point. They visit you just enough to make sure you can get in and out, and I didn't feel rushed when I needed some extra time to study at a table (though when it picked up I packed up to make room). When you're done eating head up to the counter and pay the tab. :)

Absolutely LOVE this place. Their biscuit debree is one of my favorite dishes & you get so much for such a small price. Nickis omelette is seriously the best for breakfast in Tampa in my honest opinion!

I had never been here but my wife told me about good food here and well yes it was good home style kind of cooking we had gone during the breakfast hour and the food was very good and it was also reasonable priced i would go back here again for a home away from home cooked breakfast.

Absolutely a great local place that should be on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Waitresses are awesome, foodmis.great and reasonable, cooked.while.you wait. Never have waited.more than 10 minutes ever....for our food...even on Saturday. Breakfast and Lunch served daily.

Very fast service, good staff. Food was above average but not excellent. Some reviews say glutten free, but that only means you can get dishes that are glutten free like omelettes. They do not offer glutten free breads.

I love this place and the service was pretty fast , the food was really good too tho i don't rate it 5 stars due the biscuits could use some work , they were really really dry and by the time i tried to put some butter on it , it started to fall appart.

Awesome as always! The County Breakfast and Nicki's Breakfast are my favorites. The guy next to me at the counter had Steak and Eggs.....might have to try that next time, that was a nice looking steak!

Sometimes you need to take it back a little- this unassuming diner has great, affordable food. Was the only restaurant open when getting back from the airport and I keep coming back. Homemade raisin bread and great portions.

The name sums it up... omelettes. Nicki's is nothing fancy, but the food is delicious. My husband usually orders a non-omelette breakfast, and has never been disappointed. In dozens of visits over the years, I've been consistently satisfied. Nicki's is still my first choice for weekend breakfast near home! This past Saturday morning, we somehow beat the rush & only waited a couple of minutes for a booth. We usually come on Sunday mornings, and find the parking lot terribly crowded. But on this day, around 10:15am, we found a spot right in front. However, upon leaving, i noticed quite a crowd waiting to be seated, and in the parking lot, a couple of large vehicles had parked in non-spots, partially blocking the driveway, instead of parking across Hillsborough Ave in a shopping plaza lot (which is permitted, & I noticed a new-to-me sign on the door requesting patrons to use spots that were not close to the businesses in that plaza -- only courteous, but frankly, dashing across 6 lanes of Hillsborough Ave at any time of day is not my idea of cardio & must be ridiculously unsafe). Our server was efficient, and mostly attentive - I was never out of coffee but had to remind her about my side order of grits. H ordered his ground chopped sirloin rare, but sent it back for another minute as it was a bit TOO rare, even for him. It came back perfect (he should've requested it medium rare). Everything we ordered was amazing. I ordered a create-your-own omelette with spinach, bacon, ham & Monterey Jack cheese. And they do NOT skimp on the toppings! H & I shared our potatoes, and I think, today, I preferred the hashbrowns. Sometimes, though, I like the home fries better! We also split the grits, and enjoyed their perfect creaminess - not runny & not chunky. H chose biscuits & gravy as his bread, and I think he could have made a meal of that. He had a little gravy left, and insisted on bringing it home, so it must have been very good. Our server later offered my last cup of coffee to-go, and as usual here, I was delighted to have half my omelette to bring home for a late lunch. I say "late lunch" because I was so stuffed that I couldn't eat again for many hours!
