Don't judge this place by the outside, or how quiet it is inside. We were the only people there for long today. Food was excellent and service was great, so glad to have found this place! Had Gen Tso pizza (what a great concept) and beef noodles soup. Amazing! One complaint though, the dumplings were horrible, and I feel bad saying that after reading all the great comments about it, but could not eat it. The rest was perfect and will rate them on that.

I wanted to try something different, so I gave Mei's World a chance. First time ever trying a Kung Pao Chicken Pizza. It was unique and delicious. They also have many traditional Taiwanese dishes. The two I tried were excellent too. Mostly take-out and delivery. A great place to try if you like Asian cuisine and want something a little different.

Amazing place for one of the best fusion pizza's I've ever had - General Tsao's Pizza! Seriously try it, it's amazing. There is also a full menu with other unique pizzas, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, dumplings, and more! The staff are lovely and will make sure you don't leave hungry.

Went to Mei’s today when I saw someone posted about it. And didn’t know there was a Taiwanese restaurant here in Tampa, so I was excited to try it. I invited my friends and and kids, there were 10 of us. Didn’t know they are closed for indoor dining. When I spoke Mandarin to the lady owner, I said there is 10 of us and they are all on the way if she would kindly seat us inside just for us. She was very kind to let us all in and catered to our group. Honestly, it didn’t look appealing from the outside, but you definitely won’t be disappointed with their food!! We ordered teriyaki chicken pizza, pepperoni and sausage pizza and a BBQ chicken pizza, great chewy crust, and tasted soo delicious! Beef noodle soup- the hand pulled noodles are amazing it tastes very authentic! Chives and pork, cabbage and pork dumplings, trio cups chicken- 1 cup of soy sauce, 1 cup of cooking wine, 1 cup of sesame oil, hence the name of it, was super flavorful, last but not least beef and vegetables stir fry! All were very inexpensive for good quality food!! Very impressed!! Go and pick up your to go, and support their business! May them open their for indoor dining soon!! Thank you Mrs Hao for catering to our group!!!

The outside can be very deceiving. But the food is awesome! Tried a General Tso's Chicken pizza, which those words together sound like they shouldnt work, but it is awesome. The pizza comes out fresh with a light crunch in the crust. And amazing prices as well!!! Come try this place!!!!

My husband and I are so glad we found Mei's. It was completely empty on a Saturday night and we thought it was closed. Mei was at the front door for takeaway orders and when we said we wanted to dine in, she let us in through another door. She said since it's only her working up front, she will only let in a few people into the dining room at a time so that she can properly serve them. As others have mentioned, Mei is so friendly and the sweetest lady - like a happy auntie wanting to feed you when you visit her. We, of course, ordered the General Tso chicken pizza. Certainly quite tasty and makes you wonder why this isn't more of a thing everywhere. We were actually full after two slices each, so we got to take it home and enjoy a few more times. I felt it held up well to reheating in the toaster oven, and it was still tasty eaten cold, as well. We will go back soon to visit Mei and try some of the Taiwanese dishes. I definitely recommend Mei's World Pizza!

Love it so much! We were lured in by the general tsos pizza, but don't sleep on the more authentic Taiwanese food. Everything we have had has been so good. The beef noodle soup is my favorite. The owners are such sweet people as well.

Tried the curry chicken pizza and beef noodles. The pizza flavor was not to my liking (too sweet) and the cheese did not taste great. The noodle broth and flavour was average and more on the sour/bitter side. Cannot comment on other items but the lady tending to takeouts was friendly and welcoming.

The food was good, but the service was outstanding. I had pizza and my wife had the Mopo Tofu and Sauteed Veggies. (She is vegan and its sometime hard to find food that a restraunt will not ruin thiking they are doing you a favor adding something she didnt order) She said the advertisement was spot on. The Tofo was indeed spicy. We would return for just the service alone. They were wonderful and attentive, not overbearing at all. Drinks filled regularly and all food came fast. All in all a good change in pace. Try it.

Food was great. Loved the homemade noodles and dumplings. The kung pao pizza was a great twist. The cheese pizza was pretty good too for only $5. Sweet older lady made us feel very welcome and feel at home. Will definitely be back.

Everything I've ordered at this restaurant has been delicious. The staff is really friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. The takeout menu is online, and you can order online. The pizza is unlike anything you've ever had. It is the best of both worlds when it comes to merging food types.

Ordered pick-up from here. Currently not allowing customers inside due to Covid. Interesting place. From the outside, it looks rather unkempt. The back of the building looks like it may fall down at any minute. But don't be fooled by appearance, this place has some pretty decent food. $5 cheese pizza is a decent size, and the kids seem to love it. General Tso's Pizza was delicious. Also got some dumplings which were enjoyable (did not come with any sauce, might have to ask for it if needed). The best thing here though was the friendly service. Both the person who answered the phone and the woman who brought out the food were warm and friendly-like. I need to come back here to try some other dishes including the fried rice. I can see why Mei's has so many good reviews.

Taiwanese hand cut noodles with Taiwanese beef soup, taiwanese sausage, 3 cup (basil) chicken, eggs with tomatoes, mapo tofu, Kung Pao chicken all authentic taiwanese food. The best taiwanese food we have had since leaving Taiwan 35 years ago.

One of my favorite places in Tampa. It’s a locally owned mom and pop shop and the owner is the sweetest lady. She always offered me extra rice when I used to dine in. The food is super authentic Taiwanese food and it feels like I’m eating my moms home cooked food. They have General Tso’s pizza and kimchi pizza that I can’t find anywhere else. They’re def worth trying if you haven’t. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This was truly a surprising and unique experience. We went in not knowing what to expect and it tasted wonderful. Who knew that pizza fused with Asian cuisine would be so good?! We tried the General Tso's pizza, Teriyaki pizza, and a supreme pizza. All were great! Asian dishes don't usually mix with cheese so we were hesitant at first but we needn't have been. The fusion of the sauce the crispy fluffy crust that carried a whiff of garlic. The chicken was crispy and tender in the right places. This place is hidden gem. I hope I haven't over sold it BUT you should give it a try at least once. If not for the exemplary home style taste, than for the unique flavor experience.

Try the general tso pizza! It's wicked good. Staff is super sweet and they hand make their noodles. Everything has been great off their menu except the regular cheese pizza. I don't advise getting it even if it is $5. But their ramen is amazing too.

A bizarre hole in the wall experience, 5 dollar pepperoni pizza is real and it is worth seeing to believe it. The place its self is very odd (at least when I was there) there is some back shed to the building, an almost vaperwave like interior and the (what I believe to be) South Korean soap operas playing on a huge projector with the owners wife sitting front and center watching. I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was an experience that I wont forget, it felt like being the only person in a dead mall, an experience I don't hate but gives an almost last man on earth feeling in my soul. But what about the pizza? I sense you grudging mumble with an obvious tone that I am annoying you. Well to be honest it was good. Not great, not terrible but dam for 5 dollars its very hard to complain. It had gooey cheese, a healthy amount of pepperoni and the crust had a delectably soft interior and crunchy exterior. The tomato sauce had an almost sweet initial taste yet its consistency often lead to the cheese slipping right off. Dam for 5 dollars its worth a try at least, worth ordering when you are inebriated and worth it if you like the Floral Shoppe album. I would go back and order it again as they are giving you quite the deal yet I can think of better tasting pizzas.

Went here on a lark, Chinese pizza? Found one of the most authentic Chinese cuisine restaurants in my lifetime. Dishes perfectly cooked and portions so large waitress had chef come to our table to explain our impromptu sampling order was way too much food for 3 adults. Found pork selections not found but for home cooked specialty meals. The $5.00 pizza is Mei's way of helping USF students to stay in budget. Great food and a community contributor. A must try for all.

There's a large menu to choose from. Their salad bar is awesome! Pizzas are huge! Costs of foods is very reasonable. Their service is fast. The people are friendly & helpful as well. It's located right next to Checkers but in skipper palms plaza up in corner. Not too hard to miss but it has happened. You would need to experience this place just once & I guarantee you'll come back. If not once a week. It's very easy to make this place a night out & still have money left in your pocket. Food is really good here!! Different items to choose from not the typical things you would think either. Try it you'll like it!!

Mei's is an absolute delight. They have an extremely versatile cooking staff, that can make just about any custom order you could think of. The crust is made from scratch and has a light sweetness to it. For first timers I always recommend the "Curry Chicken Pizza". My boyfriend and I have passed by this place tons of times separately and together and finally tried it a few months back. So happy we did! The food is to die for. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious. I love dumplings and their pork dumplings are amazing I could eat thousands! But they’re such a popular item and their made to order so sometimes they have them and sometimes they’ll be out. We also have tried the General Tso’s pizza and Kung Pao Chicken pizza and the braised pork pizza. All delectable. The crust is so freaking good. Their chive boxes and chicken wings are amazing and the three cup chicken. We come here all the time and it’s never busy people don’t know what they are kissing. The prices are crazy cheap. Spend $20 for the both of us and feeling full as ever and happy. We come here almost every Sunday, the young waitress is so nice and sweet. The wait time depends what you order. Dumplings take a little bit of time and their fire spicy chicken as well for us so far. But worth the wait.

Try a General Tso's pizza or a pepper steak Pizza. I haven't sampled much of their actual Asian food, but the Chinese food pizzas are very good for the price of 5$ The staff is also willing to turn almost anything on their menu into a pizza. Doing that is a risk, but opens up much room for experimentation. Teriyaki chicken pizza is good. Spicy tofu pizza? not so much. The storefront as many people have said, looks a little dirty and old.

NTS. Not too shabby. Small restaurant in Tampa that offers pizza, Chinese, and Taiwanese food. Not many places offer Taiwanese in the area. Fried pork chop and braised pork was great.

We got the $5 carry out, while it may not have been the best pizza I have ever had it was a great value for the price. I'd say it rivals the pizza chain's $5 pizzas. Will be going again.

Amazing pizza. Everything from the hint of garlic butter on the crust, to the ratio of toppings to sauce was very good. And the sauce was slightly sweet, which is how I prefer it to be. If I had to do a comparison I would say they take a lot of things that major chains do right and splice them together. For instance, they take the sweet, robust sauce from a papa johns, with the texture of the crust from a pizza hut, and the quality of toppings from a dominoes, and put them all together. And when you go in to pick up your pie, you wont believe that this pizza joint is staffed by just two small Taiwanese women...

The atmosphere was very qwirky. But the food was great! If you are studying Mandarin Chinese, this would be an excellent place to practice. Most items have an English title underneath the picture, but not all. Highly recommend the General Tso Pizza, it is their signature dish and it is wonderful!

This is a quaint, family owned and operated pizza joint that serves up some of the best pizza I've had while living in Tampa. 7 bucks will get you an all-you-can-eat buffet, including drink! They have the tried and true pies--peperoni, cheese, etc.--as well as some innovative pizzas, such as the General Tso's pizza. They also have take out pizzas for 5 bucks! The decor isn't extremely fancy, but who cares? The food is good and cheap and by choosing Mei's, rather than Pizza Hut or Papa Johns, I feel like I'm actually supporting my community. A must try for people who like good, cheap pizza!

Me and my friends from college found this place on Google and decided to try it out. The idea of combining pizza with authentic dishes is underestimated and brilliant. Since, we were newcomers we decided to try their specialty pizza which is the General Tso Chicken Pizza. This pizza was the best thing I ever tasted besides my grandma's cooking. Covered in General Tso Chicken which is a sweet and tangy chicken with a very soft under-layer of bread crust, I was amazed. The concept is so unique and distinct. If you decide to visit Tampa, FL I would highly recommended this place and ordering the General Tso Chicken pizza. You will not regret it, trust me. Also, it is good to know that you could dine in or order take out on Doordash.

Five dollar pizza is hard to come by these days and I heard good things about this hole in the wall spot, so I tried it out. The pizza had an odd taste to it. Slightly sweet and tangy. It was ok and it reminds me of a late night spot for college kids leaving the club. It wasn’t for me. I’d rather get a $7.99 pizza from Dominos.

I've been here somewhere in the ballpark of 20-25 times since moving to a nearby student housing complex a little over a year ago. It's got the best pizza in the area, hands down, especially for an American-style Chinese junkie like myself -- the oft-mentioned General Tso's Chicken specialty pizza really is incredible. There's very little reason to go elsewhere in North Tampa if you're craving pizza with a twist and looking to support your local businesses (which, on a minor soapbox note... you absolutely should try to do). So, why four stars and not five? The answer there ties in with my word choice in "very little" reason. There's definitely room for improvement, albeit with other items on the buffet line outside of the cheesy, saucy, dough-y main attraction. The salad line isn't always the freshest it can be, the noodles are often left out thrice as long as I'd prefer and the wings, when available, can be a bit disagreeable on the teeth. Still, these are all outside what's probably the biggest reason you'll be looking at the buffet option, and if you're really craving excellent chicken wings, you have plenty of other options out there in big ol' congested Tampa. One last thing: recently I arrived too late for the buffet and decided to try the stuff many neighborhood Asians come see Mei for on a weekly basis -- her authentic oriental dishes. This place gets plenty of business from the considerable Asian population attending USF, not for its pizza but its Far East cuisine. I sampled the pork chop over rice dish and it was delectable. The customary egg was fried to perfection, the meat was flavorful and the rice was just as good as my Chinese roommate's. So when it comes to Asian cooking in the US of A, if you're also a fan of the real deal, don't assume Mei's World doesn't deliver.

I ordered the general tso pizza, and it had a very good taste. Not the freshest pizza, though. I think it was premade and reheated. Service was very friendly. I did not try the buffet but I saw it in passing. There were no pizza, just a very small salad bar. It is possible they don't put the buffet food out until more customers show up, as I was the only customer at the time.

This place is a hidden gem. Get the pig oil noodle, dumplings, General tso pizza and scallion dumpling. They let u have self serve soup included w every meal. Amazing food, dont let the building's exterior fool you! They hand make their dumplings and noodles. I wish I knew about the place sooner.

Meis has two menus an "Italian menu and an oriental menu. The items on the Italian menu have some what of an oriental taste like a Chinese bun crust to the pizza. EXTREMELY DELICIOUS !! We order the general tso pizza everytime it's highly addicting so proceed with caution. Basic pizzas start at $5 and specialties are $9 (enough to feed 2 hungry people or 3 modest eaters) oriental menu is full of exotic pickings such as pig oil soup but also has seldom choosings such as pork fried rice or dumplings. The chicken wings had a very oriental taste to them as expected recommend getting barbecue ones. Meis gets busy at night time especially on weekends so show up early ! All in all if you want the best pizza Tampa has to offer and you have adventurous taste buds to handle it stop by meis for an under $10 hidden gem

If there is any reason to travel back to Tampa, it would be Mei's pizza. The staff is exceptionally pleasant, the prices are more than right for the college students in the area on tight budgets, and the food is warm and savory. You will not find a more perfectly cooked buttery crust anywhere. Evenly golden-brown and just the right amount of crunch. The pizza sauce varies with type, but it is never any less than uniquely delicious. I particularly enjoy the General Tso's chicken pizza. Mei's has a knack for turning these un-pizza-like things into a graceful blend of flavors. We can't wait to try the chicken alfredo pizza, along with their home cooked noodle dishes (which always look and smell amazing at other tables). To be blunt, Mei's is what Mellow Mushroom tries to be. If you're looking for the unique pizza experience, what Mei's lacks in psychedelic decor, they make up for tenfold in the quality of food.
