Consistently perfect experience both Uber eats and sit down in dining room. Clean and inviting this West Tampa haunt. Try the stuffed sweet plantain (the canoe) and any of their fish preparations.

I would say they have the best Puerto Rican food in the area except for the Mofongo which was a bit hard and dry. They also did not let me come into the business in a tank top yet let several other women walking with tank tops and gave me the excuse that I was “not dressed properly”

Decent and respectable. Food remains good but it seems ownership has either changed or management scaled the seasoning and portions. Shoot! They could not provide the "Mofongo con camarones" my mother oh so desired. They were provided separately. Mom was certainly not thrilled.

Truly authentic place for some great food. Got here right on time because as soon as we ordered our food, in walks a 12 top. 5 minutes later an 11 top. This continued for the duration of the night up until we left. A testament to this amazing gem.

Nice place if u want to have a good time with the family. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. The only disappointment was that the food took an hour and half to be served but I would say that was on Father’s Day so I can give them a pass on that one.

This is the best Puerto Rican restaurant in Tampa! I am so picky about my Spanish food but everything here is incredible! Our favorites are the fried pork chops, mofongo, toston pizza appetizer, and the rice with red beans! You can’t go wrong here! Everyone should put this on TOP of their list.

Absolutely outstanding food. I got the Mofongo de Camarones (shrimp) and it was so delicious. Other Puerto Rican restaurants that I have been to really do not even come close to the quality and flavor of this place. We had Tembleque for dessert and it was also delicious. I stopped here for the first time for some Puerto Rican fare. The food and service were great! I had Mofongo relleno with crab meat and a side of yellow rice and house-made smoked chipotle hot sauce. My waiter recommended a Puerto Rican craft lager to drink, which paired well with the Mofongo. I definitely recommend the place if you're looking for tasty Puerto Rican food, reasonable prices, and personal and friendly service.

Food tastes good, although the traditional Christmas plate is quite differently served. The yuca (casabe) Morongo can be much better, needs to be smoother and a little less garlic. The service could be better, I was never served water, until I requested it at the end of the meal,I was never told that a dish with napkin and utensils had been placed at the table. I thought it was mandatory to eat with a spoon. The server was very polite. Prices were quite reasonable.

Nice place; staff humble; the arroz con gandules was delicious; the alcapurias and empanadas were slightly flimsy (did not have enough ground beef, although for the little bit there was in each, it surely was well seasoned); the tostones were well fried and toasty; last thing is that for a PR restaurant, there was no Salsa music. Please La Casona owners, play the Salsa music 🎶. I guarantee that much of the die hard Salseros will embrace the hospitality while enjoying great food.

For those who like to have that Latin taste nice seasoning in their food this is not the pace for you but if you out any other who likes less seasoning and salt this would be perfect. It is very cozy and homey, the service is excellent and it is very clean also a nice place for you to enjoy with your family.

A little bit small, but authentic Puerto Rican restaurant. Table service was fast and efficient. All the food was excellent from the empanadas and the plantains, down to the two chicken dishes that we chose. Very good indeed. It was well worth a stop, my wife daughter and I were all quite pleased with our meals.as long as you're looking for authentic food, this is a great great place to go to. Two thumbs up! oh yes one more thing - the sangria wine was really good, one of the better that I've had in quite some time.

The bacalaito balls were over cooked and salty. The octopus and conch had a sauce that was on the sweet side and there was little of both and lots of salad as filler. We had a fried snapper that was good, but very expensive. Not thrilled with my dining experience.

The mofongo de bistec, and the mofongo de camarones, were absolutely amazing. Best to go very hungry, 1 plate of food is more than enough, and the alcapurrias, 3 for $9 are absolutely great. 1 appetizer, 2 entrées and 2 drinks came out to be about $40.

Great food, excellent quality and friendly service! Operating hours are not conducive to late evening dining so be sure to plan accordingly. Priced well for the generous portions so price is spot on. I'd say expect $$ (out of 5 total). I recommend the sangria - some of the best I've ever had!

Excellent service and great food. I am just giving this four stars because we only did take out and our food could have been warmer. The place was clean, service was friendly and they were open late. Our food was delicious and they gave us plenty of it. We ordered the mofongo and we were not disappointed. I am looking forward to sitting down and eating here.

Very excellent mofongo. I had it with chicken and it was delicious. Great decor, service, and atmosphere. Excellent place for couples. I really had a fantastic meal. The server was very attentive and courteous. The place is wheelchair accessible. Their prices are a little high, but the quality and quantity of food is worth it. I really liked the sauce that came with the mofongo. The rest of the meals that I saw being served looked incredible.

The service is good. Our waitress was very friendly. The food is overpriced. We ordered buttered bread and I'm almost sure that it was that cheap frozen toast that anyone can get at Walmart. Food was okay, thats it! definitely not worth the price. Quality can and should be improved.

Nice place with excellent mofongo. Both the version stuffed with shrimp and the one stuff with chicken were really tasty. The arroz con camarones was also excellent, and the pink beans that came with it could have been a meal in itself. Staff was courteous and the service was great, and the price was reasonable. My friend from Puerto Rico and my friend from Columbia both went home happy and full.

I have so much to say about this place! Amazing falls short to what there tasty food did for me and my family. This isn’t just any Spanish restaurant...it’s more than obvious that the food isn’t just waiting around to be served. From the beans that were perfect to taste and omg there avocado salad is just spot on!!! My kids (picky eaters) loved their food! They went with the rice & beans and chicken a la Parilla and left the plate clean and my hubby went with the sopa de marisco .. I think that’s the name but he loved it as well. Try this place knowing that your going to get fresh food served and enjoy! My server was so warm and friendly it makes it all the more worth it to go back.

We went here for a Friday dinner. The restaurant décor is wonderful, the restrooms were spotless and nicely detailed. The real deal was the food. My husband is Puerto Rican, and I am Dominican. It was my first time dining at an authentic Puerto Rican style restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. I had a shrimp mofongo in the red sauce, can't remember his dish, and our son had the rice and chicken We may have waited for what seemed to be a little bit long time, but it was well worth it. The food was really, really good. Had my first PR beer....really tasty, and the way it was served in a ice cold clay glass made it taste better. Finally the dessert...all I can say is have dessert. Anything. The entire meal, service and ambience was like visiting someone's home. The ladies take true pride in this establishment. Definitely going back.

Food was authentic and very good. My only complaint is with paying. I used a CC to pay for my meal and the waitress said my signature must match what is on my DL. Not only did she write my license number on the receipt, she stood over my shoulder to watch me sign. Very strange. Never experienced that at any restaurant. Will no be returning even if I paid in cash.

The restaurant for being a Spanish restaurant is very nice and clean etc not like the typical rinky dinky hole in the wall Spanish restaurant. The food is AMAZING!!! Best mofongo in town. However the reason I would not recommend to a friend is their horrible service. They have no organization at all when it comes to the waiters, service, and set tables. You will be waiting for service forever and will not get checked on as you should. They don't greet you right away neither, it just lacks the professionalism of a nice restaurant. Also their business hours are horrible. They close WAY too early. Lastly they NEVER answer the phone when you are trying to place a to go order making you drive all the way down there and having to wait for the food to be made, lacking the convenience of ordering to go. For the food its worth a try for sure however the more you go at least me personally the more disappointing or frustrating it gets.

Went there with my family, the service is poor, it take about 10 minutes for the server to go to our table. When we order the food it take around 40 minutes to come to our table. I’m Dominican and I know how Latin food is full of flavor but this food was no flavor at all, over all very disappointed.

We came because of the food reviews, the guacamole was bland and dark. Mine is much better and the chips were stale. I think the burrito was reheated in the microwave only because it was steaming hot. My other entree was room temperature.

I was skeptical about bringing my family due to the negative reviews but we went the day before Father's Day and it was packed! We sat down after 5 mins of waiting, the alcapurrias were served in 10 mins, and the food was served very hot in 25 mins. The food was Awesome! BRUTAL!!!!!! Meh, it was ok. The empanadillas were good but would have been better with some higher than lukewarm temperature. We had no salt and pepper on the table, no silverware. We were warned they were busy and the waitresses were behind, Which was fine but once the waitress got there she was not entirely enthused to help us...the service-what service? we asked for silverware and were stared at like we asked for something unusual. we figured out-after she mentioned it- our waitperson did not speak English plus it was God-awful noisy in there with screaming children and adults-deafening in fact-like you can't hear the person across the table and the waitress can't hear you, LOUD.!. When our food came out an hour after we ordered (it was a busy night, I understand) the food was not hot and they use regular rice in the Paella not the kind I am used to.The seafood in the paella was good and a great deal for 20 bucks. No bread was served for some reason. I have a desire to go back but reading all the reviews about bad service and weird hours open make me say 'why bother?" For my money i will stick to a great place I know in Ybor that has been there since last century and has service and smiles with its great food,even if it costs more-so worth it!

Wow i really loved this place. Just moved here from Chicago my coworker told me about it. I tried the special of the day WHOLE Fish en Escabeche AWSOME had it with Salad and tostones Fresh tostones not frozen lol. my freind had el jibarito sandwich with pork steak for app and Asopao de Marisco (Seafood gumbo) with tostones. Must say portions are big. great food and service was very good will be back want to try the Pastelon Keep up the good work complamints to the Chef or Chefs.

The mofongo is seriously over priced! It was good, not fabulous. For $15 for lunch, the mofongo should be absolutely the best in Central Florida! I got the crab stuffed mofongo, and the crab was brown. It was in a sauce, but it shouldn't be brown. I got it in a container, or my mofongo would have been ruined! So I would give the mofongo a 3 star rating and the crab sauce a negative 3. The cafe con leche was acceptable.

La Casona is the place to go if you want good and (according to my father-in-law) authentic Puerto Rican food. We always eat here at least once during our visits to Tampa and I love their food. Highly recommend the empanadas and alcapurrias as appetizers (de carne). I always get some sor of shrimp but my husband loves the Arroz con Pollo Classico and my father-in-law loves the Mofongo.
