On a trip to Vegas, my wife and I tried a dim sum place -- one with the little old lady pushing the cart and everything. Surprisingly, even after accidentally trying chicken feet, she loved the place and the concept. (Even more surprising that she remembered it at all! She was hammered!) According to the underground dim sum network here in Tampa (not really a thing), this place has good dim sum. Just no little old lady with a cart. That would ha e been the only thing missing, cause the HoHo definitely doesn't lack on anything else! We ordered solely off the dim sum menu, but they have a full regular menu plus a hot pot menu!! Next time! I love hot pot! We had pork dumplings and shrimp dumplings and fried shrimp puffballs and an awesome beef noodle soup, and a fried noodle dish with seafood in an oyster sauce. The last 2 were full dishes big enough to split with 2-3 people (or more, if everyone just wanted a dim-sum size portion). It was all so good! Service was great too -- they started bringing the dishes out very soon after ordering, and it was nice they brought them out as each got ready rather than waiting for all at once -- so if you closed your eyes I guess you could just imagine the little old lady wheeling the cart around. All very friendly. The place itself is not in a real great area, and the building it's in was a tad sketchy too. (Oddly, the building strip had 3 Asian restaurants, a Persian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant and a Mexican food truck -- so it was like a Mecca of good eats). But the HoHo was clean and nice on the inside. You'll be fine, just go. Tell them I sent you. That won't help any, and they won't know who I am even if you explain it -- but give it a shot.

Operating for 30 years with NO social media !!! Should tell you all you need to know. Amazing food. No it’s not a fancy or spruced up Asian fusion place.. it’s old school and refreshing because the flavor is out of this world. Best dim sum are the little hole in the wall places and this one is it!! My whole meal was under $40 and check out all I got!

We discovered this restaurant driving by to Dr's office. Stopped in to eat and we were hooked from the minute we walked in door. We have been back many times with Friends, Family and just the two of us. The atmosphere is great from the front door until you leave. Very clean always. The food is absolutely wonderful and the prices are very reasonable and great portions. I always have left overs. Everyone we have taken there or suggested have raved and happy to find our happy place

We had dim sum in Nov 5. We've had it here previously numerous times and it was always better than last Saturday. I don't know whether this is a temporary situation or due to another way of doing things. I'll try it again eventually. Specifics: The shumai seemed to be a bit porky-tasting. (As though not entirely fresh? I don't know.) Taro dumplings have been better too. But the fried turnip cake was excellent and so were the chive dumplings. Maybe they were off their game for a day.

A great sushi restaurant that sustained me during my last college year. Very tasty food and decent portions for a fair price. I remember counting pennies with friends back in college with entry level jobs just to be able to come and grab lunch together here and some sake. Really friendly staff was always s very kind and welcoming. Parking is pretty chill.

Haven't been here in a number of years but still think of it often. I'm assuming it's the same owners based on the reviews. I followed them from the original location where Lowe's now resides. As a regular back then they made a dish called "Chinese seafood noodle". It wasn't on the menu but the owner would make it on request. It was so delicious! As I've moved around the US I haven't found a restaurant that can duplicate it properly. If you visit I highly recommend you give it a try.

This spot was my first meal upon arrival visiting my sister and nephew in Tampa. We made it just in time before closing and I was so thankful because after my flight I was starving. I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. It was delicious. I ordered the chicken w/broccoli combo, white rice and an egg roll. Thank you guys for servicing me right before closing I enjoyed my food and appreciated the kind service! When I come back to Tampa, you’ll be my first stop again (if it’s an even flight).

One of our favorite places to go. Point of information, we only do the dim sum. Service was excellent and highly efficient. Food has always been excellent and very much worth the reasonable price. And no, the servers will not fawn all over you. If if you need someone to treat you special and boost your self-esteem, this is not the place. :-).

I did take out dim sum. I’ve been craving dim sum and there is not any in the Tallahassee area. I’ve haven’t had dim since moving from San Francisco Bay Area so some of the best dim sum in the country. This pretty good dim sum. The dining room is not open. They have huge menu. The Char siu bao are really good. Which is one of my favorite. There is also pork dumpling that are amazing that I unfortunately don’t remember what they are called. I will totally be back when Tampa.

Best Ginese food in the area. I've been going to Ho Ho Choy for years...I go nowhere else for Chinese. The food is always excellent and I appreciate that they also have true, authentic Chinese dishes on the menu and dine in can provide a true family style dining experience. And since they've expanded to offer sushi with Shabu Shabu, it's just gotten better. This is a must not miss restaurant.

Great location for Dim Sum. Prices are fair and staff is nice as well. I would say this place is fantastic, but if Yummy House and China Yuan are better just my personal opinion. Not a bad venue, just other competitors are a little better. Still plan to return to this location in the future for sure.

This place is great. I've been here twice and both times the food was always great. It wasn't crowded and the service was good. The server is very pleasant and kept my drink full. The restaurant itself was clean and elegant inside. You can order Dim sum or order off of a menu. The food was delicious and always comes out hot and fresh.

I have only come to this location for their "all you can eat Hot Pot" which has been a good experience so far. It's worth it if you actually eat a lot. I recommend only going here for their "all you can eat hot pot". I would not go here for take out (heard some not so good things). Try the Spicy Sheep Broth. It's pretty good.

My new favorite Chinese restaurant in Tampa! Great wait staff and a diverse menu, including dim sum and hot pot. Tried the extra spicy Szechuan twice cooked pork belly (amazing!) and a couple dim sum items not usually found in Western-style Chinese places, like egg tarts, steamed BBQ buns and scallion pancake. Even the Jasmine tea was good. What a meal! I'll be back...

Hands down our go to restaurant for Chinese cuisine. Friendly, fast, and the food is amazing every time. We've done big groups and just the family. The service and food are always great. They are moderately priced. The crispy and honey pork are only available on the weekend. They are worth it.

I've been searching for a good Chinese restaurant for about a year and have finally found it! We did takeout last night from Ho Ho Choy and it was delicious. The eggrolls and crab rangoon were both nicely plump...not the scrawny ones you get at some places. The fried dumplings were some of the best I've had. There are 4 per order--I may need to get 2 orders next time so we don't have to argue over who gets the last one. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor, not just salty. Looking forward to this being my new go to Chinese place!

They have the best Chinese food in Tampa Bay. Prices are a little high, not average but it's worth it. Clean and courteous staff. Shrimp dumplings are the BEST! House fried rice is exceptional. If you're ready to graduate from the buffet tables, Ho Ho Choy is exactly what you're looking for in a traditional sit-down dining experience. I love the food my family and I eat here all the time!!! I have had one bad experience with them when they gave my order to the wrong customer and called them back to the restaurant to bring the food back and tried to give me the food the customer had brought back. They refused to make me some fresh food and when I asked for a refund they said it will take a couple of days to put it back on my card. I actually had to wait 2 months for this to happen!!! I talked to the owner or someone who posed as the owner assured me that this will never again.

Absolutely LOVE the hot pot at this restaurant! I always get the Chicken Broth and Beef combination hot pot and savor every spoon! The only downside was the slight discrimination encountered from our waiter. The first time I ventured into this restaurant with my best friend, both of us are white and Eastern European, the waiter scoffed at our request for chopsticks; his exact words were "Do you even know HOW to use chopsticks?" We looked at him in surprise and said "Yes, we're quite familiar with using chopsticks." He laughed and replied "Oh, well just how you look, I didn't think so." It's unfortunate that every time I return here for the yummy hot pot, I recall this first impression of the staff.

This is genuine Chinese food. Don't come expecting panda express or pf Chang alterations. We did have some dim sum too which they make o.k.on Demand and the sesame balls are excellent as well as the ya su bah. The have shabu Shaun games but they close then am hour before closing. Try it out. A wonderful change of pace.

Been coming to this place for years very consistent...only complaint would be that the crispy pork is only available on weekends or Monday if it doesn't sell out...there for it's good real good. Stumbled upon this place en route to Tijuana Flats, and it was a welcome digression. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious (general tsao's tofu, eel rolls, pork buns) I was shocked that the sushi was so good given it wasn't a Japanese restaurant. Would definitely go to again.

The food here is excellent and not packed with msg and preservatives. I'm ultra sensitive so if anything is off, I'll know within the first few bites. My favorite things to order are: egg drop soup, imperial chicken un-cut (dont forget to ask for un-cut or you'll have bone fragments in your food,) shrimp dumplings, garlic broccoli with extra sauce, and special fried rice. Here is my only issue with HoHos - they have messed up my to-go order EVERY SINGLE TIME. I ask for garlic broccoli with regular/American broccoli but every time, that's not what they give me. They either still give me Chinese broccoli, or when I ask them to add beef, they give me beef and broccoli. I dont want the sauce that comes with beef and broccoli. I want the garlic sauce that comes with garlic broccoli. I've spoke to them several times about this but they continue. Last time I ordered from there, they gave me another green vegetable entirely. If you eat in, your food will be correct. This place has the nums but they sure dont follow instructions with online ordering.

The seafood was the best it was really good and seasoned the only problem was I don't think they give you a good portion a mouth for what you pay for I also tried their Chinese food I had the orange chicken it wasn't nasty but it was not worth the price that it was paid for and it isn't taste great to make me want to order it again the service from the women were very rude did not check on us we had to keep asking for things however I'm not sure if the malewas the owner but he was the one who was more attentive and making sure he was taking care of the guests would go here for seafood only when I really really want some and can't get it nowhere else
