If you love Italian food you’re doing yourself a disservice if you do not come to this place. Phenomenal authentic Italian food. Homemade. Flavors are amazing. This is done right. I’m only in Tampa for five days and this was the best meal I’ve had. Even the complementary bread which is homemade is outstanding with flavors of olive oil and fresh rosemary.

This place is awesome!! The service is amazing and food is so dang fresh. It IS a hair line pricy for the amount of food you get but it’s a wonderful date night spot. I highly recommend this place!

Went there n Saturday evening and we sat at the bar ...the hostess was super helpful and welcoming ... Food is really really good here authentic Italian fresh and very good flavor ...we order a bottle of prosecco was chill and nice ..the night went well ...very happy with the food that was my second visit . Looking forward to go there again .

A Saturday evening with dear friends and our experience could not have been better! Outstanding service! Delicious calamari appetizer, the octopus is outstanding. I’d never had it prepared that way but absolutely loved it! Lobster ravioli and salmon were ordered at our table and everyone loved their meals! Great bar … Sarah makes perfect ‘skinny margaritas’! We will definitely be back!

I randomly went to this restaurant with my date after a show at the Tampa Theatre during the Santa Festival. I am grateful we choose this place because we experienced great authentic Italian food, exquisite service and a fine dining experience for a reasonable price for a Downtown Tampa dining experience. We had Calamari as an appetizer which was great but the bread at this spot is out of this world good. It also came with this fantastic dipping sauce that seemed to be made from scratch. I had the squid black ink pasta, for the first time in my life, and I loved it. The waiter was top notch and I had a great experience which is why I gave this place 5 stars.

Tampa Gem. Featuring incredible authentic italian food. Not to mention the service we recieved from Tyler was outstanding. Very friendly and professional. Everything they serve here is made in house from scratch including the pasta. What more can i say :)

There are allot of solid reviews on here, and a few that state the food was bland, and lack real flavor...I must agree with them. I had the the lobster ravioli and my wife had a clam pasta dish. We commented a few times during the meal that we were looking for " that bite", but it did not come. Ambiance is pretty good, service was fair, not top notch, but the food was a big miss and really was quite bland. We actually at one point said, "I think the bread was the best part of the meal". Better to be honest, take care.

I went with my cousin and boyfriend the other night, and they were short staffed so it took some time to have our waiter help us, but he was so sweet and funny and the owner of the restaurant was very very professional and personable. She made sure everything was good and we had everything we needed. Additionally, the food was delicious. They have mostly specialty foods and not a lot of traditional plates which I enjoy because that makes this place unique. The marinara sauce was so fresh and delicious and all the food was fresh as well. My Boyfriend and I got the special with the lobster ravioli and shrimp. And my cousin got the sausage and the squid ink spaghetti with blue crab. Overall very satisfied with the food and the ambiance and the service.

Wonderful food, classy place. Until the end. Waiter served a tepid cappuccino, with cold foam on top. I drank it and didn't complain. My husband then mentioned it to the waiter afterwards. The waiter's response: "that's just the way our machine makes them". Really. After ordering a four course meal x 2 with wine, he couldn't apologize and just comp the coffee? We just took it out of his tip. Horrible attitude from the guy and it was not a nice ending to our meal.

Those place was beyond awesome!!!! We arrived to find out they only took reservations. The staff was asked and granted our request of 9 with a place to eat. They were beyond graciou5 and found us a table and gave us superior service. They were the best people with the absolute best service we have ever had. If you get the chance. They have the absolute best service and best people I have ever met!! They are awesome!!!!!

Genuinely nice people. Great hospitality. We went for my birthday, Michelle and the other staff made it a memorable night. We will definitely go back there. Food was delicious and very authentic. The atmosphere is very welcoming too. Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful New Years Eve experience eating here with friends. This is a relatively new restaurant in Downtown Tampa. Our food was delicious, the atmosphere is charming and the service was very attentive. We definitely will be back.

Walking in the door you feel like family. Greeted with hellos and good to see yous. Once at your table water, wine, or any other drink is now on your table. The daily specials are enticing but sticking to the classics are just as enjoyable. If it was even a thought of should we. Its more why didn't we eat here.

Incredible service from our server Matthew. He knew the dishes, including specials, and made perfect recommendations. The food was cooked to perfection. Custom cocktails by Giuseppe were amazing. We recommend the meatball appetizer, bucatini entree, and lemon marscapone dessert.

A great place for a great Italian dinner. The ambiance is very nice and the staff (Josepe in particular) were very good. The chef went above and beyond everytime to make me a special dish (vegetarian). Will definitely come back! Prices are affordable

I've been meaning to try this place when I first saw they were building it out. I was happy to see that they opened for lunch. The restaurant is elegant, with fantastic music and tasteful décor. The owners are friendly and chatted with me for a bit. The food was delicious! I had the eggplant parmesan, house red wine and tiramisu. I definitely want to go back and try their other dishes. I highly recommend if you're visiting, a girl's night out, date night, or to treat yourself for lunch. Enjoy!

I ordered Pasta Bolognese and Focaccia. Pros: Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, nice atmosphere, fresh ingredients. Cons: The food tastes fresh, but is otherwise bland. A bit more salt, butter, and red pepper flakes would likely have improved the dish a lot for my American palette. The Focaccia bread was good, but wasn't the best Focaccia I've ever had. For $25/meal, I'd like enough food to have leftovers at least once, but there was barely enough food for one serving. My immediate reaction upon receiving such a large plate with such a tiny portion was disappointment. If you put the same amount of food in a smaller plate I probably would have been happier. All in all, I don't think the meal was worth the price.

I love trying new local restaurants and DeVito’s did not disappoint. The drinks, entree and dessert were wonderful. The place is beautiful and the service was excellent. Finding a parking space for dinner was not an issue.

New Years Eve reservation: Walked in fairly early and we were greeted by James the owner. Was not friendly. Taken to our table where we eventually were greeted by Adam. Fantastic waiter. He was awesome. Recommended a nice bottle of wine which we enjoyed. We went with all of Adam’s recommendations for food. All the suggestions were good. The entrees arrived just barely warm and had to be sent back. We weren’t wowed by the atmosphere or the food. It’s mediocre at best. On a positive note was Adam. Very good service and extremely personable. Another reservation? Not in the foreseeable future.

The entire experience was high end ….starting with the professional service from our waitress Sara. Her recommendations from selecting a unique wine to fully explaining the details of their specialized menu. Located in downtown Tampa this restaurant is perfect for weeknight business dinners and weekend visitors and locals. The spirits, entrees and desserts were delicious together with the attention to details and service. Highly recommend visiting Devito’s and seeing for yourself how enjoyable their Italian Specialties are.

Having the privilege to be at many superb restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised when we found this gem. The sublime food and desserts are out of this world. Service was phenomenal considering they were very short staffed. The atmosphere is peaceful, diverse and friendly. Highly recommend this wonderful Italian Fish House. Supreme excellence!

Had a phenomenal meal at this beautiful restaurant. The signature drinks were tasty. The food was unbelievable. I enjoyed the filet mignon. Cooked perfectly and complemented by a porcini mushroom sauce and topped with black shaved truffle. My friend enjoyed his Filet of Sole. The fish was so fresh. Finally the entire event was signed sealed and delivered by tremendous service. Our waiter Matt is old school,a veteran of the food and hospitality industry who was both informative and entertaining. We will definitely ask for him again and urge others to do the same. DeVito's is our new spot.

I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because although the soup was delicious I was charged $5 for bread that came out after I had already finished my bowl of soup. I only ordered a bowl of soup and bread to dip into the bowl of soup. The service was sub par and disappointing. Again the soup was amazingly delicious. The bread was a complete waste since it came out when I was ready for the bill.

We had a staff team build on Friday and decided to complete the day with dinner at DeVito's. Everything was AMAZING. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We had a party of 7 and the food and service were as good as it gets. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. Our server was so very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. Absolutely my new favorite Italian restaurant. We will definitely be back ..... often.

We ordered the Carpaccio the octopus it was wonderful. My husband had rigatoni Bolognese which was good. But I ordered the special short ribs and instead got beef shank that was very dry. Very disappointing that they charge so much money for beef Shank and try to pass it off as short ribs.

The food was amazing but the only thing better was the service. Our server Aaron was amazing, his pairing skills are unmatched everything was spot on. The Brunelo and the filet went hand in hand. He also had a strong knowledge of liquor and the rye collection was on point. He made us his signature cocktail blew our mind. Who would think rye and strawberry would work but he did it. 10 out of 5 stars.

What a delightful dining experience this evening at DeVito’s Italian Restaurant in Tampa. Only a block from the Sheridan Hotel. We weren’t dressed for dinner but we’re made to feel welcome by all the staff. We met Matt McKinley who explained the Italian cuisine and made helpful suggestions in making our choices. Jim had the Squid Ink Spaghetti which was an excellent choice and I had the Pan Fried Sole-was another excellent choice. Dessert was Tiramisu and Lemon Layer Cake. Both were delicious. Great atmosphere-very relaxing. We will definitely go there again when we are in Tampa this winter.

My husband and I recently moved out of state and we sure do miss Devito‘s in downtown Tampa. Where to begin? The restaurant is tastefully decorated. Elegant yet very comfortable. The entire staff is friendly and professional. The wine list is long but your server is more than happy to help you pick out the perfect bottle of Vino. Although we ate many enticing entrées in the times that we went there we did have a favorite combination that I will share. For our appetizer we’d share the polpettes, a.k.a. meatballs. Ive got to tell ya, some of the best balls in town! For the next course we would split a pasta. The bucatini pecorino e speck. Delicious homemade bucatini pasta with a pecorino truffle cream sauce and speck ham. Your eyes may roll back into your head, my husband says he still dreams about it to this day. For our entrée we would enjoy the Salti in bucca di pollo. A pounded piece of chicken, nice and thin with ham, fontina cheese and basil. It sounds overly simple but it is absolutely delicious! They also serve it with their roasted vegetables. Roasted red onion may not look appetizing but trust me it’s very very good! To round out that giant meal we could have the chocolate cake for dessert. Oddly enough when you split their plates the portions are just right to sample several items without getting too terribly full. We miss you, Devitos. When we come back to visit we will be making a reservation!

My wife and I went to DeVito's for the first time last evening. We were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. The first thing that struck us was the design and ambiance of the space. The noise level was the perfect balance where you can tell that they're busy, people are happy and having fun, and we can still hold a conversation amongst ourselves without feeling like we were talking over anyone. Our server's timing was spot on throughout the meal. Everything from the vegetables on the dish to the pasta and featured meat items was cooked to perfection. Easily the best authentically prepared Italian meal that I've had in Tampa. Very impressed and will be back.

We have had MANY incredibly memorable dinners here. Between the service, the ambiance, and OH MY the food! The Octopus Carpaccio is UNREAL. The filet with truffle melts in your mouth. It is clear that this restaurant is owned by people who care about the quality of one's experience. We will be back again and again!

The food here is incredible. We had the meatballs, caprese, Chitara, and the tiramisu. Let's start with what is most important, dessert. The tiramisu is to die for. I am not a big tiramisu fan. Usually, it is soggy and unbalanced. Not this one. It is the best I have ever had. It is light and has a certain air to it. Get it, you won't regret it. The meatballs are amazing and I still think about the Chitara. You will LOVE this place. Try it.

The service and ambiance were top notch. The food was very tasty and perhaps we should be blamed for the loss of a star for higher expectations. The prices were a bit higher than they should be but you pay for presentation and mood. The steak was over cooked and over seasoned but that should be expected at an Italian restaurant. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery while the sauce it was in almost seemed unfinished with its heavy wine taste. Again everything did taste good and the food was probably hurt by the price and quality of the place rasing the expectations too high but we were left with something missing from the entrées. That something missing was soon filled with desert. Although it may take us a while before we return for dinner DeVito's will definetly become our new stop for tiramisu and coffee as the desert has quickly replaced Berninis as our favorite in Tampa.

Beautiful place, very clean and an excellent service; however, food lacks passion. You can tell the ingredients are top notch, but the flavor is hollow, practically there is no soul in it. I went because I wanted to feel I was in Italy again... it is a shame because the place has limitless potential.

I stumbled upon this newly established restaurant and I am happy that I did. The interior design has had a lot of thought put into it; including the diverse menu. I was lucky enough to converse with both the owner and wife, very humble, polite people. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a great meal (frito misto & ossobucco risotto) followed by a few glasses of Chianti. Bellisima!

My son & I had dinner at Devito’s this evening. What a jewel of an Italian Restraunt in the heart of downtown Tampa. Elegant decor, best Italian dishes ever, staff awesome. We had clams with most amazing sauce & homemade pasta. We also had Sea Bass with roasted veggies, then the best beef tenderloin I’ve ever eaten. All dishes cooked to perfection. Was my first visit , will be on my top favorites inTampa . Highly recommend, will be back soon. Great experience!

We happened to stumble upon this while looking for a late night desert while staying at the Marriott! I was craving a late night dessert and this hit the spot. The owner accommodated is even though he was closing (so humble, we didn’t even know he was the owner as he was sitting at the bar). We’ll be coming back when we visit the area again!

All I can say is ....just wow. We moved from Houston to Tampa four years ago. Houston, a very "foodie" city. And although we love our lives here, the food scene has just kept up fed. DeVito's is simply amazing!!!! Authentic dishes, perfect homemade pasta and sauces, and too much more to describe. People travel to New York, Chicago, and San Francisco to get Italian food like this. We just have to drive downtown. Go there now! If Covid 19 has you scared, order it for home. They have a full take out menu. Their website is state of the art. You can order you take out food, special requests and time for pick up. This is the best Italian food and clearly my favorite Tampa restaurant. Cudos to the DeVito family!!!

Not a place to go for a quiet date night! Went on a Wednesday night. Managers and/or owners sit at the bar and carry on VERY loud inappropriate conversations clearly oblivious to anyone around them. Food was ok. Ambiance ok. Willing to give it a second chance

Let me start by saying 👏😮WOW!!!.I spent an amazing Saturday evening at this divine place.We were hungry after leaving Busch Gardens and we were exploring the downtown area and we asked the manager for a table and he inmediately accomodated us as if we were VIP clients,despite the fact we were not even dressed according to the standards of this place.From the Chef, to the bus boy, to the waiter everyone was super nice.They gave us great suggestions for the entrées and drinks and help us decided between the amazing main course selections and dessert's menu.Everything was delicious,also they kindly arranged a great dinner choice for my daughter,which she loved.It's hard to make a decision about what to eat here because the menu selections are outstanding, but the pork chop and the veal are definetely 2 winners here.Also I have to mention that the nice atmosphere, the elegance, and the simplicity in all the details within this place will escalate your dinner experience to a higher level.Please consider their Sangria, despite their good wine selection the Sangria is a MUST TRY.We are coming back in a month!
