The food was awesome! I happened to be in the area for a medical appointment. The doctors recommended this place. Ropa vieja, oxtails, everything we tried was on point. The staff is very friendly. Can't go wrong here. Portions are large so be ready to eat.

Delicious and great prices. Lots of options to choose from. I got the Pork with Moro rice and plantains. $7.50 for the plate with large portions. $1.50 extra for Cuban toast, but it was worth it. The Cuban sandwich was also good.

How is this place not FAMOUS? Food was 11/10, service 10/10. The space was clean, open and inviting. It was an excellent experience. First timers that WILL come back for sure! The taste is incomparable! The sandwiches are massive, will feed two. Pricing is shocking. You will NOT go wrong. P.S. if you’re from Puerto Rico, this place will hit you in the feels 100%.

Giant piece of salmon with shrimp, white rice, black beans and mangu. This was the most delicious Hispanic food I've tasted in a long time. We have definitely gone back multiple times already. AMAZING PRICES

My first time trying cuban cuisine so I was not sure what to expect. The young woman that was behind the counter was kind and patient, she explained what done dishes were and helped us decide. My husband had the ribs with paella and plantains. I had the cheese stuffed sea bass, black beans/ rice and tostones. Sadly, I was neither a fan of tostones or the plantains... BUT let me tell you that I've never had a better tasting fish in my life. The black beans/ rice were delicious as well, especially with a few splashes of hot sauce. The portions are huge enough to share. We also ordered a cuban sandwich to go, we ate it later in the evening, that was also absolutely scrumptious 😋 I hope to be back one day. Only thing I would change is that the fountain drinks don't have free refills 🤷‍♀️

The seasoning is on point at this place. Everything I tried was so delicious!! The cuerito on the pernil was so crispy and the meat was super tender. That pollo frito was incredible. That moro must've had some elite sofrito, so so good. Can eat it by itself. Must visit.

Hands down, this is the best Caribbean/Cuban food in Tampa. The baked chicken is amazing. Very flavorful. They also give large portions of food for a reasonable price. I can’t get enough of it!!!! I’ve heard the oxtail and salmon are also great.

I had the salmon with yellow rice and avocado salad with the mango juice.I highly recommend ...my daughter had ceviche, yellow rice, yuca and the garlic shrimp. She also loved it the ceviche was her favorite. We're not from here and thought the food was amazing service , they are very friendly and constantly checking on us to make sure everything was okay

My friends birthday is today and I had dinner delivered to him. I live in CT and he lives in Tampa. After viewing a couple different places, I chose Caribbean Twist because of the great reviews. Great food. Good prices. Really nice decor. I was bummed when El Arco Iris left, but having tried Caribbean Twist, I would have to say its an improvement. It is cafeteria style but has many choices. The place is impeccably clean and quite nicely decorated. I had Pernil with Yellow rice and tostones. Delicious! I would definitely be coming back.

While traveling for work I went in last week at night for a later dinner and the service and food was so great I went back the next day for Lunch again. The staff was SUPER nice, very helpful in explaining dishes to someone who is not overly familiar with Cuban food. I talked with the staff for a while and they make everyone there feel like a regular. I will certainly be back. Would give them more stars if I could.

Update** Thank you for going above and beyond to make each visit better since the previous encounter! Definitely a place I truly enjoy going and the fried fish is always amazing!!** The food has always been great and I have had a lot of good experiences here until this evening. I have been told if a specific item is not ready that I can request it to be made- I love the fried fish! I come in every week and I have always been treated great. Tonight I asked if the fish could be made since I cannot have any other meat proteins, except in extreme moderation due to health reasons, and I was refused. When I politely asked the lady, since it was not available already cooked, I was told no since it was frozen. This doesn’t sit right with me if you have the product and you just don’t want to do it. I didn’t mind waiting for the fish to be cooked but was not given that option. It’s the one thing I look forward to when I visit my boyfriend on weekends since my diet is so restricted. You lost my business tonight because I couldn’t eat anything else out and also moving forward since I do not support being told one thing by the owner and doing something else when they are not there. This woman did not want to go have it made for me. Why refuse to make something if you have it and the owner says it’s not a problem? If making something for a customer is a problem then it shouldn’t be told. It’s one thing to be out of a product but she just said the fish was frozen. I am extremely understanding but this was very upsetting.

Hidden in the neighborhood. The aroma greeted us at the door followed by the owners welcoming smile. Must try the specialty coffee, the name escapes me but I had a silky robust espresso latte. Food was savory and danced on the tongue.

Super friendly even to obvious out-of-towners, and the food portions are just tremendous. Plates range for $10-12 a plate and most will likely not be able to finish it all. I recommend the ribs, tostones, baked fish, plantains, and yellow rice with the meats.

First off this place is in a great location not being far from Stadium, 275 or Bars off Dale Mabry. The owner is such a wonderful person as she very kind to all patrons. The parking lot is clean as the inside of this establishment is very clean and cozy. Also the staff immediately cleans each table as patrons leave and bathrooms are very clean. I've been a few times it's always vibrant with life and food is amazing wether you order from hot bar or get a sandwich. Looks like you will spend around $10 on average. The Cuban Sandwiches are big and tasty with tons of flavor also each sandwich is pressed to your desire. I would definitely recommend this place if your on lunch brea kor looking for a place to bring the family.

Parking and entrance I'm the rear gave a suspicious feeling, but walking into the restaurant you immediately noticed the clean comfort atmosphere. Buffet style includes simple salad, beans and rice. Several meat options. No fountain drinks and no refills. Fresh juice was refreshing.

But from their shrimp special to their huge Cuban sandwiches it’s all good! They also offer a Christmas Special that is totally worth it! Price is based on the meat you pick and how much it weighs ( well that’s for take out due to covid I don’t dine in 😂 ) I recommend the goat ( super meaty and juicy and tender and full of flavor ) , fried pork chunks ( full of flavor, meaty and addicting ) , Ribs ( “my husbands favorite”, Sweet and tender, Good Pieces for a Great Price ) , oxtails ( super super tender, great flavor, good size pieces ) , grilled steak ( it has a lime and onions over it ... legit you just have to try it with some rice ! ) I am a very picky person but this place never disappoints me as you can tell, I wish nothing but prospering to them and their business ! This is one of those hidden restaurants in Tampa Bay. It is mom's and pop's restaurant with real authentic Caribbean cuisine. My favorite dishes are ox tails and sea bass. Great Staffing, great location, and tasty meals. I moved into the area 6 years ago and I am a frequent visitor at the store. I easily spend over $100 here every week and I have not regrets. After consulting several co-workers that visit here as frequent as I do, I have a request to make; that the food should be less salty. I had to through out my food today, we need to tone it down a little. If anyone wants more salt in their food they can add it personally which is better than having too much salt in the food as it wont be redeems at t hi is point. I can't give a rating less than 5 because this is something that can be fixed easily. My mouth is still burning as I type this becuase of the salt in my food. Thank you!

I wasn't disappointed. the food tasted well-made, possibly the top of the Latin American fast food places I've been to in this area so far. You can expect smacks of flavor, but not much variety. I thought there would be more dishes from the Afro Caribbean representation, meaning there were a lot more pork options and not a lot of veggie substitutes, but I can't complain.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant, and decided to order through DoorDash. My order was cancelled, as they can not fulfill my order. So, that was very disappointing. If certain items will not be available til a certain time, that should be disclosed somewhere on DoorDash. . Or their open time should be closer to a time when they will be able to fulfill orders. Maybe, I will give them another try? ***So, I was finally able to order my phone the same day as my above review. I ordered the beef stew with two sides of plantains and avocado salad. This restaurant occupies the former Arco Iris space. It is a mostly hot/steam table cafeteria style operation with table service. Some entrees are cooked to order like a bistec (grilled flattened beef steak). The booths and half of the front counter are gone to make room for the steam tables. High top tables and chairs have replaced many, but not all, of the sit down tables. The moro rice was undercooked -- crunchy black beans and underseasoned overall. Asked for the bistec with few onions. It came to the table with none. While not overcooked, the steak too was on the bland side, lacking seasonings. No water or Cuban bread was served with the meals or cafe con leche. Silverware setups include a metal knife, fork with a napkin wrapper. One plastic spoon in a wrapper came to the table with the cafe con leches. Bottom line, we were not impressed.

I enjoyed my experience here. The boss was really good at chatting it up with the customers and helping you pick food. Prices were very reasonable. I wanted to try something more unique to Florida and this was a good pick. I tried the ribs, ground beef, and fish. All delicious. I would say the food had probably been sitting for a bit though because it was almost closing time and the meat was a bit tough. Try to go earlier on in the day. Otherwise, great place.
