Visited while on vacation at a nearby hotel. Everything was delicious. Especially the crab cake, reminded me more of a pancake shape, wish I could have one now. It was so good!! Also had oysters, fish spread, fried grouper, shrimp ceviche and boiled shrimp. Everything was great. No wait. We went right at opening time. Would recommend.

First time a Captain Bill's date night with Hubby good can't say anything bad the services was good, and the Chef even came out to the table and check how everything was, Love that. With that said have to go back to for second time with Family and it was 13 of use and the kids were their. All I have to say the chef came out again to check on the table amazing love it. I have to say that keeps me coming back not only for the drinks or the food but the services is 100% on point. Queen

We were visiting friends who were staying on Treasure Island and randomly stumbled upon this place. We were immediately seated, our waiter was nice and provided us with the daily specials. We ordered quite a bit of food, starting off with the oysters, smoked salmon dip, hush puppies, and coconut shrimp. If you like bloody marys, order one! They're grand in taste and in display (bacon, lots of olives and a salt rim). Overall, service was good, food was great and we left there very satisfied.

Worth to visit and wait to be seated. Got prawns, colleslaw and home fries, everything super delicious. Cat 5 Hurricane cocktail was awesome. Super friendly staff, nice live music.

Awesome atmosphere! It did not disappoint. It was just me and my boys tonight and we killed some peel n eat shrimp and 2 lbs of crab legs. Well worth it and live music.

A staple every time we come to Treasure Island. The chargrilled oysters never disappoint. We ordered the grouper bites, and they were unbelievably melting in our mouths! The red snapper was the catch of the day and that was phenomenal as well. My husband ordered the chargrilled A shrimp and the coconut rice is always delicious! The gentleman that shucks the oysters has been there every year we come here, and who knows, he may be Capt. Bill! However, would be great to see some diversity in the wait staff. A must if you are a oyster and/or seafood lover while visiting Treasure Island.

Came in for the blackened shrimp or fish tacos listed on Google. They don't have them anymore. They said they've tried updating Google. Cup of Jambalaya was fantastic. Great flavor. A little on the mushy side but didn't bother me. Menu says Jambalaya with Shrimp. The shrimp are those tiny, no flavor ones so if the shrimp is your deciding factor, you should probably pass. Also had a half order of crab legs (full order 4 claws $82.99, no sides). They were good but on the smaller side and overpriced in my opinion. One claw was on great shape, other claw 3 legs were broken, one completely broken off. Not really what I would normally pay $40ish for. Service was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.

Living in St Pete we typically stay away from the tourist areas, but a visiting friend recommended Captain Bills after they tried it on their vacation. We chose the outdoor seating, but the interior seemed nice. They had some live music happening (Sunday afternoon- not sure if that is a regular thing). Our server was very nice and provided info about the restaurant (locally owned small businesses- YES!) and they strive to source as much fresh food locally as they can (another bonus!). We got there for happy hour and had the special jalapeño margarita (perfectly balanced with lime for a zippy drink, but not overpowering jalapeño) and the ceviche. I’d skip the ceviche next time as the portion was small even for happy hour price. I ordered the blackened grouper and the other half got the steak. When in FL you can’t go wrong with grouper in my opinion. YUM and the $26 provided a generous portion of fresh grouper, incredibly fresh green beans, and coconut rice. We were told the owner hand cuts the steak every morning- it was perfectly seasoned and cooked as ordered. It was served with skins on truffle oil and garlic petite potatoes cooked to golden perfection and the fresh green beans. Our server “tricked” us into trying the cheesecake sampler dessert which was decadent, but small enough where I didn’t feel TOO guilty for eating it- ha ha ha… We’ll recommend Captain Bill’s to visiting friends in the future and I’m sure we’ll head out to the beach side for a nice meal again in the future.

Great place! We stopped by purely by chance - my partner wanted “some oysters” and this place is made for it! Friendly and helpful stuff, got to talk to the Chef making rounds around the restaurant checking on guests, there was a live music in the background, we had a bunch of drinks and p e r f e c t l y cooked green asparagus.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. It is a pleasantly deceiving place based on the building and parking lot. Once you walk in the front door it’s a vibe. Stellar decor, stellar service, stellar vibes. The only thing you need to order is the char grilled oysters. Thank me later. 10/10

Happy hour 3-6 has $1 Oysters. Cat 5 Hurricane was good a well made Hurricane. Service and food were both great! My wife loved the Jumbalaya. Best place for Oysters on Treasure Island!

I loved everything I had here from food to service to ambiance. I had the ahi tuna sashimi and mahi tacos. The tuna was cooked perfectly and came with a lovely wasabi sauce, very punchy! The tacos were sooo good! Really fresh, delicious chunky fish, bright pineapple mango salsa. Wanted to order a second round they were so good, but I was full haha. Also got a round of jalapeno corn hush puppies as a side, which was delicious. Crispy fried, not oily, bright flavors. Could have been a bit stronger on the jalapeno for me, but so yummy. Also had wonderful staff engagement. The hostess and I chatted about hair, the chef, Chris, came out to ask about the food, and our server was very attentive and funny. We sat outdoors and the seating was nice, comfortable with lots of outdoor plants around. Would come again for sure!

Some of the best seafood me & my friends have had and at affordable prices! The service was great! The chef even came out to greet us and to make sure we liked the food. They also had some nice live music and even though we sat close by, we could still have conversations. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back!

Best seafood eatery in Florida! Foodgasmic for sure! Very handsome servers, excellent cocktails, fantastic apps, $1 raw oysters, $5 seafood spread, coconut 🥥 🍤, grilled oysters 🦪 and for entree we had the succulent bacon wrapped scallops with cauliflower purée along side fresh asparagus; I had KeyWest Platter which was grilled Mahi , skewer of 🍤, conch nuggets with coconut rice and fresh green beans, we have foodgasms the entire meal! Our cocktails were $5, Cucumber 🥒 Jalapeño Margarita and hubby had Category 3 Cocktail which was rum times two and so yummy!! Best of service, location, ambience and FOOD!! Highly recommend this place for sure ⚡️🤙🥰

A great thanks to the staff and the chef (CHRIS). Chef Chris was amazing comes out and checks on his clients and how there food tastes and treats everyone with the warmth he provides. His staff amazing quick and knowledgeable about the oysters. Highly recommend his joint. We are from NEW YORK and never had an experience like this. George our server was amazing. Couldn’t ask for anyone else. Mingled with the kids and got them to even try seafood. Amazing. He kept us going and will return in the near future for more. Thanks again Mike and Sophia NYC

Everything was delicious ! The rockerfeller oysters are my fave !! The ceviche was too sour I did mention that to the waiter and he was nice about it , raw oysters are a must !!

Out for an early dinner, we stopped at Captain Bill's. There were plenty of tables and seats at the bar. Since they have a raw bar, we opted for seats there. The gal shocking oysters was making great progress through dozens of them. We enjoyed a half dozen raw but also had a half dozen char-grilled with parmesean and garlic. Both were fresh tasting and satisfying. The raw were salty and briny and the mignonette completed them. The char-grilled were done just right, still plump and tender and yummy. The chowder was ok but the coconut shrimp were crunchy sweet and delicious. The cocktail list is adventurous and worth a look. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I heard they may have to move and I intend to support them whenever they do. Hope it's not too far!

One of the best happy hours on the beach! $6 grouper nuggets and fish spread are excellent 👌 Jalapeno margarita for $6 is another favorite. The used to have $1 oysters but now $2 or $2.50. Excellent food

They have a limited menu! And def no $1 happy hour oysters. I viewed the menu ahead of time and picked out a couple dishes I'd like to try but none of them were offered. They also did not have 2 most basic liquors we wanted. Call ahead to confirm.

Came here because the Tavern participates in Club Savor. Had baked oysters, mussels, crab cakes, and the scallops with sweet potato, as well as drinks (yes this was a party of one 😂). Everything was to. die. for. The bread hay cane w the mussels were incredible. I don’t understand what sorcery they sprinkled it with, but the dish is worth it alone for the bread. Service was incredible, as well. Highly recommend.

Great oysters, atmosphere and wait staff! Very laid back and relaxing. The bloody Mary's were delicious and the fish bites were a great appetizer. Will definitely go back next time in town. Our waiter Jeremy was very pleasant and friendly.

Wow! Lots of choices but I’m glad we chose here! Blackened Grouper was phenomenal and I finally got my Fish n Chips! You will not be disappointed. Why drink from a bottle when they have such a great draft beer selection! Jalapeño margarita one of a kind. A must stop in Treasure Island! Did I mention it’s snowing up north?

The food was delicious! I had bacon-wrapped scallops which were delicious. The sides of cauliflower mash and green beans were an excellent low-carb choice. Chef Chris visited our table , and his wife is the hostess. An added bonus is the low-key music. I recommend this restaurant, and I am married to a foodie who cooks. You can’t go wrong here. 👍

Great food and service. Our bartender Tony was entertaining as well as prompt. The conch fritters were some of the best I have had. The cocktail blue crab claws with butter were fantastic. Definitely a place to check out. They also have great and long happy hour specials.

Do yourself a favor and visit this place ASAP! Outdoor seating was the way to go, beautiful breeze on the patio. The oysters were delicious and their sweet tea is on point! Not to mention the wait staff were sweet and attentive. Couldn’t stay for a full meal but can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu.

This place is just awesome. They have the oyster shucking station right up front so you can see them fill your order. Crab legs were cooked perfect, lobster tale was perfect.. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with the warmest of smiles the staff was so friendly and greeted me and my family. We sat outside because it was a lovely day we ordered the oysters calamar fish spread and a number of other things and everything was phenomenal our server Jeremy went above and beyond to make sure me and my family had the best experience possible and at the end of the dinner after my children ate everything on their plate lol the chef came out chef Chris and introduced himself to me and my family he explained everything to us on the menu and we sat and chatted for a few minutes it was a five-star experience and we will continue to go back the food was amazing the atmosphere and the people.

Sooooo, my job puts me all over the country coast to coast. Most years I'm in every states largest cities and always try to find food for comfort outside of the busy city atmosphere. Something that reminds me of home. Captain Bill's is about an hour and a half from my actual home and when I'm on the road to the area, if feels like mere minutes away even though I have Disney's traffic mess and Polk county's traffic mess before I can even see the signs letting me know I'm halfway there. I've been stopping by the area for years at the recommendation of a few old friends and I have never once been disappointed by the service, atmosphere and most importantly, the great food at Captain Bill's. Shout out to everyone that works there! Thank you all for keeping the quality of service high and the quality of food even higher. Florida is lucky to have you hidden away in this wonderful town filled with so many places to experience and explore.

Looks can be deceiving but the food was amazing! The oysters and tuna steak portions were huge but the great price didn't reflect it! Jamie the waitress did a good job especially with the 2 year old in our party. FYI, this restaurant is trying to go green and not really use straws.

Visited this evening and thoroughly enjoyed it! We caught 'happy hour' so we had the $1 oysters. They had Chesapeake Bay ones tonight and they were excellent. Ended up ordering an extra 2 dozen. We split the grouper bites, calamari, and fried pickles off the 'happy hour' menu. All were great (ordered an extra grouper bites it was so good). Our son had the fish fry and he loved it. Fries seemed a bit soggy, but hand cut and seasoned well. Our drinks needed a slight 'tweak' after we got them....a bit of extra pineapple juice for my wife's rum punch (too much rum at first...go figure!) and my martini needed a touch more olive juice. The waitress was superb, asked us if we'd like to exchange for something else or adjust what we had. Thirty seconds later, they were perfect. We're in town for a couple weeks and we'll be back!

After trying a hole in the wall bar for some raw oysters, getting terrible service, and even worse oysters, Captain Bill's was EXACTLY the place I was looking for. The drinks were great, the oysters were fantastic (plus the cute little hot sauce bottle...love) and the entrees were amazing. Our server was great, even as he was training someone. I'm back home in Colorado now and can't stop thinking about this place. What a great experience. 10/10 absolutely would recommend.

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Slightly more expensive then the other places around but soooooo good. I had the key west platter. The grilled mahi mahi was juicy and tender, the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Both were covered in some type of dijon sauce that was delightful. Ths coconut rice was a little on the sweet side, and the conch fritters were a little chewy. I ordered a side of their hush puppies and they were delicious. My wife had the crab cake entree. They were large cakes full of crab meat (the real stuff, not sugared, dyed, white fish). They were light and fluffy and the sauce was delicious. I know there are a few negatives in here but I have very high expectations when I eat out and this place is definately one I would eat at again. Great job to the cook's, and our server was fantastic as well.

Wow! What an awesome place. We started with the Grilled Oysters and they were so delicious. Our entire meal was delicious. Their craft drinks are well made. Highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent service and food.

We ordered lots of Raw Oysters, some Oysters Rockefeller, some peel & eat shrimp and some Truffle fries. Everything was absolutely fresh & delicious. We ordered an ''Old Fashioned" flight of smoked drinks, too: one was a tequila, one was a banana bread bourbon, one was a kind of dark rum with a pineapple wedge. SO GOOD!! Great place & I highly recommend it!!

I don’t give a 5 star unless the food is really good. The food was great. Three of us ate the key west platter with mahi, shrimp and conch fritters with coconut rice and key west glaze. The flavors were phenomenal. My sister enjoyed her clam chowder and lobster tail. She said the tail was the best she had this week while we were at St Pete Beach. The service was great and the chef found time to visit some of the tables for feedback on the food.

Truly an impressive first visit. We've heard it was much different 2 years ago but our visit last night was stellar! Connor and Patrick at the bar were knowledgeable, fun and very polished in their ability to take care of us. We got to meet Cheff Chris who let us try a new baked oyster creation. FANTASTIC. The queen steam pot was more than enough for 2 and delectable. Finally, we got to meet Anthony the owner of the past 2 years. He was so kind and humble with the accolades we gave his staff and menu. Please give them a try whether it's your first or you're trying after owner change. YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED!

Been here twice. Good raw bar and seafood joint. A little pricey for what it is but that’s how it is with pretty much every spot on the beach. The servers and bartenders were really friendly and accommodating.

Good food, live music, great prices, short walk from the beach, about 5 minutes. If you love seafood they have a ton of options. If you’re not that into seafood they have some other items too, but I’d say it’s 70% seafood. Outside seating available as well. It’s on the main strip so there are shops around too if you need to kill time waiting to sit.

Calling all oyster lovers!!! Herbie is the master oyster shucker at this venue. A true raw oyster expert searches far and wide for the best tasting oysters. There is an art to serving these fine delectables. They sb shucked professionally, served over shaved ice and be cold. These were all that and more. Served with cocktail sauce, horseradish, Tabasco, saltines and one other sauce that I forgot to ask the waitress about. And the best part...one dollar each...ALL DAY!!! . These are gulf oysters. I use to turn my nose up at gulf oysters. Not anymore. They were not small and not big...they were just right. All were a consistent size. I feel like I found a hidden treasure!

We went there with our daughter and her husband for our anniversary and had a fabulous time ! The food was excellent - both the appies(multiple) and the entrees. Especially the bacon wrapped scallops, which where the best I ever had-kudos to the chef! And our server was at the top of her game! Loved everything! Upon entering, I noticed a dwindling supply of oysters in their display, so the first thing I did was order 2 dozen and mentioned the supply in the case.i was shrugged their were plenty. Well guess what. I was told they were out of on the shell. They did have some differently prepared oysters. I was not happy. Paid for your drinks and left.

Went here a few times. No more $1 Oysters all day, everyday. Now the $1 Oysters are only from 3-6pm. Otherwise it's $1.50. But they are good. We ordered the fish and chips which was good, but they didn't have any malt vinegar this time. They were busy and the wait was long to get the food. Update: Went again. Oysters were great. Tried the calamari, didn’t like it, it had too much batter and not enough meat. Update: No more $1 Oysters for Happy Hr. Now they're $2 all day. I don't blame them as the price of everything has gone up.

It's a nice welcoming place, the drinks are great, the food is fresh and amazing, (yes, the oysters were super fresh) I'm definitely going back to Treasure Island just to go to that bar.

My husband and I ran across this place while on vacation last week. We both had grilled shrimp, coconut rice, and green beans. Everything was delicious and cooked very well! We liked it so much we decided to come back a second time. We tried the crab cakes, lobster, blackened shrimp, and key lime pie. Everything was excellent! We arrived at 7:30. We didn't eat until 9:30. The food was great. After the waitress got our orders wrong. She was very rude. She didn't write our orders down. It's our anniversary and that was such a nice touch!!! We also had great service from Uriah, he was always checking on us and seemed to sense right when we needed something! I read the great reviews online and wanted to give this place a try. So during my time down in TI, I made sure that I placed this establishment on my list of places to try. As you'll soon find out I was not disappointed with my choice. When I first walked in there I felt welcomed not as a stranger coming into a place for the first time but as someone who's been there multiple times even though it was my first time. My server was great and recommended great dishes for us to try. He took the time to find out what we liked and things that we wanted to try and gave his recommendations. The breading used on the fish and appetizers was amazing. It was not oily at all but crisp and stuck to the fish and calamari. You can tell the chef has taken his time to understand his craft and his customers. The chef has shown his attention to detail and how his passion for cooking can be shown in his food. This is a place I would come back just for the food in the atmosphere and make a side trip here if I'm in the area.

Loved literally everything about this place. We have been searching for great oysters in the area and these are hands down the best. Fresh, cold, great flavor. Also, we have found it hard to find good service, but the bartenders here knock it out of the park. Attentive, great drinks, best service we have had in all of st Pete. The banana bread old fashioned is amazing, as well as the cucumber jalapeño margarita (which we also feel is the best margarita that we’ve had in st Pete). So happy to have found this place.

After searching "seafood" and "oysters," I came across this place. Amongst the search results, I dismissed this place at first, but after a second look at their menu, I was sold. Luckily, we happened to stop by during happy hour, and that was icing on the cake. Drinks, are you kidding me, this place has better drinks than most snobby craft cocktail joints. Oysters are $1 every day, all day. I was taken back by the size of their Chesapeake Bay oysters. For my preference, they were larger than I prefer but had great flavor and were shucked to perfection - #foodie problems Seafood was fresh and flavorful too. Don't let the non-beach frontage change your mind, this place has great food and very well made drinks. Menu prices are very, very proportional to what you get. Return is imminent!

Despite the name, this is not a tourist trap. Frankly I'm torn about posting this cause I don't want more of you to crowd the place. Best cocktails I've had on the beach, hands down. $1 oysters that are actually really tasty. The entrees were phenomenal and you can tell the chef really cares about his work. The food was fantastic (I had the blackened ahi tuna tacos, my wife had the bacon wrapped scallops over cauliflower mash). Our server was great (even though he's an Alabama fan j/k). Parking can be challenging but we were there for dinner on a Saturday night, so I know that impacted it. My only complaint was the live music. I normally enjoy live music at restaurants, but this venue isn't designed well for that and it just seemed loud. The musician was talented for sure, but would have been nice if he'd been turned down a little more.

And the crab, scallops a lobster were perfectly done (yes, we like food!). And we loved sitting outside (I know, you can only do that in winter here!). Finally, our service was outstanding. My family and I ordered some of the fresh, raw oysters, peel and eat shrimp, calamari, the shrimp dinner, the blackened mahi, and the shrimp tacos (substituted the shrimp with blackened grouper) and everything was INCREDIBLE. I have to say: my boyfriend and I are not from the area so we stumbled upon this place by chance by our hotel, and I’m SO glad we did!! The food was absolutely incredible!! We went two days in a row because the food was so amazing. I have To say our server the first time, Candace, made the experience that much more incredible. I 100% recommend the steak sandwich! It’s the best I’ve ever had, anywhere!! My boyfriend is also a huge Oyster eater and says these are SO worth it!! I also had the shrimp linguine the first day. The shrimp were so big and fresh! What a hidden gem! We tried a few different seafood places for our weeklong vacation on treasure island and Captain Bill’s Oyster Bar had the best seafood by a landslide. My experience at Captain Bill's was allover ok. Their 1$ oysters are delicious and they have a could of different beer styles you can choose from. I ordered further the fried calamary, the fish bites and a shrimp cocktail. All three were ok, I was hungry so I ate them but I would not eat them again. The fish bites and calamary had to much fat for my taste. The service was all over nice and friendly. They forgot two of our orders which came later. The fries from a friend were almost cold. All over I would only come again for the oysters and beer. Also be aware you won't find anything on the menu if you're a vegetarian or vegan

We brought our own fish and they cooked it for us. We had it made several ways, fried, grilled, and blackened. This was LITERALLY the best fish I've ever had. The seasoning, and cook was amazing. The fish was juicy and flaky. This place was definitely worth the visit. They had pretty good live music as well. At one point I saw the hostess dancing while she was standing at the door and when we locked eyes we both laughed hysterically. The staff was great and we had a good time. Will absolutely be back.

Oysters were very very good(not the best) but excellent. If you need a laid back dinner out definitely goto this place especially if you love raw oysters. Also they had real disco music with people around you dancing in their seats.. 10/10 best chill dinner place for food service cocktails and oysters. Get there.

The bar staff always has a smile is eager to created a Liquid vivation the is due to cool your from the Florida heat. The wait staff is spot on, courteous, friendly & never skip a beat. That all goes together with the "Most Important part of a restaurant... "The Kitchen" With every delicious plate from The Hub and heart of Captain Bills is always Masterfully created coupled with a little dash of love for their art. From the moment you walk in you can tell Anthony has a very happy stuff that works together well and to me that's what makes a restaurant successful.

So I order delivery from them so I know the quality of the food cannot be guaranteed by the time it reaches me, but everything I received was fresh and pretty hot still. The shrimp 3 way app was amazing so so good and all the dipping sauces were really good too. The fish spread was decent but not my favorite but again still good. My concern was with the crab crusted grouper. For a hefty price you receive maybe a 5oz cut of fish, 3 hush puppies and 3 sprigs of asparagus. The fish was so so and the crab on top was basically burnt, the grouper was just eh. The hush puppies were okay and the asparagus is well what you expect but come on 3 pieces of asparagus, that’s a joke for the price paid for a meal it’s not really on the quality to have high priced but low quality and okay portions. Overall I can say it was good but not great.

Got the captain burger, friends got the tuna sesame tacos, the scallops and blackened shrimp. Everything was flawless, the food was fast and hit and presented amazingly. Asked for the burger to be rare and for once I got a rare burger, it was breath taking. The seafood I tasted was also quite awesome!!! Go and try anything!!!

We had the smoked fish spread which was excellent. $12, good size portion with 3 pieces of garlic bread, crackers, celery and sliced cucumber. Also had the chargrilled oysters $11 for 6 and oysters Rockefeller, think those were $12 for a half dozen. Both very good, I preferred the chargrilled. Best part was Herbie who chucks the oysters, what a very nice, pleasant man! We enjoyed talking to him so much my husband tipped him $10 and we didn't eat any raw oysters! He was very friendly to anyone that came in and did a hell of a job shocking the oysters which looked great and ar $1 a piece you can't beat that, we just weren't in the mood for them. Would go back for sure. Nothing spectacular about the decor but that is not a game changer for us.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! The food was perfect with plenty of fresh seafood options to choose from. The whole family was more than pleased from appetizers (volcano shrimp, conch fritters), entrees (filet and shrimp kabobs, crab legs), to desert (key lime pie, Salted caramel cheesecake). The waitstaff was on point with their service as well. I will definitely be recommending this establishment to everyone for a night of good fun and GREAT food!

Limited parking and menu for those with food allergies. Do not expect to eat well here on a plant based diet. The service was excellent. I asked others I my group and they happily shared the drinks were mixed well, and the seafood fried, grilled, baked or blackened tasted great and was well prepared. Bottom line if you are in the mood for sea food I would recommend Captin Bill's, just make sure everyone in your group is a meat eater.

The food is always fresh, the service fantastic and prices great. This is the kind of place that immediately becomes a regular stop. I always get chargrilled oysters and tuna. You cannot beat the prices or the flavor. The oysters remind of eating out in New Orleans. It is a flavor you don't usually get around here and the value is the best! My wife and I went for date night. We had the bacon wrapped scallops app. They were perfectly seared with an a nice piece of bacon. We each had the tuna steak dinner which was delicious. Was here in February 2020. Sat upstairs at the bar and had the absolute BEST bloody Mary’s I have ever tasted. I am not a real big fan of bloody marys but my sister got one and I tasted and then I had my own two. She also ordered herself another one. Can’t remember what we ate at the moment but we liked it I do remember that. So if you like a great Bloody Mary or even if not your favorite, worth it to try theirs!!

Not the best value for the quality around. Really really really good French fries though. Really. Waiter recommendations were not good, but the green beans on the side were good as well as the slaw and, as stated, French fries. I wonder if we ordered different entrees if our experience wouldn't have been better, but the parmesan crusted osters were barely edible from the heavy cheese and salt. The fried crab cake was over done. The crab cake was mostly crab meat though, so bonus in that part. Maybe stick with the fresh fish and the great sides for a better meal for the $$$.

We are from Oklahoma where we can't go to a fresh seafood restaurant and really wanted some while on vacation. The food was amazing and the stuffed flounder had the best crab cake stuffing. Short wait for a table on a Thursday night. We received our first round of drinks in a timely manner. Then the waitress ended up with another table of about 15. Barely saw her for the rest of the time we were there. Our party sat there for a good 30-40 minutes with empty drinks. Food was average when it finally arrived. Not sure why but my food was cold on arrival but the rest of our food was fine. Might try it again sometime when it is less busy. Doesn't seem like they are well organized when crowded.

Been to captain Bills on two other occasions and was always pleased but this time we arrived at 6:30 PM for dinner. We waited for over 45 mins with the 2waitresses just walking past us on several occasions not even asking if anyone was taking care of us. Finally one of the waitresses stopped and said she thought someone else was taking care of us. There were only two other tables with people. The food was good as always but probably will not return after the incident with not being waited on.

I honestly wasn't impressed... the atmosphere was ok, waitress very nice, food not so much. We got the cold peel and eat shrimp, Key West Platter, and chargrilled oysters. We were underwhelmed at best. The peel and eat shrimp were good but the oysters were smothered in grated parm and cooked way too much. Not worth the price at all! The shrimp and mahi in the platter were great but everything else was super sweet and it was strange. Don't plan on going back.

While oysters are always great here, and I have eaten here a number of times. I'm very local and a native Floridian. But yesterday... I ordered Grouper and was served Grey Snapper instead. Really pisses me off. Not sure who or why it happened but it did. Grey Snapper is easy to spot, always remember that Grouper will always be thick. There is a minimum harvest size as well as a distinct texture. $24.99 for poorly prepared (Blackened) Grey Snapper. I wish restaurants would realize that REAL diners, like single men in their 50's... dine out on weeknights and amateurs in the kitchen on a pro diner night is easy to spot and just pisses me off. Please remedy.

visited 4/14/18. Wife and I wanted to sit outside. There were several tables available, but they were apparently “reserved” so they sat us in a hi-top 2-seater by the entrance door. We ordered an appetizer, a wine for my wife and I hade a beer. Drinks came out in good time. After a ½ hour, our drinks were gone and no app, we got our check for the drinks and left. So, I don’t really know about the food, it could be awesome. We’ll never know. By the way no one ever sat at the other tables while we were there.

Best food we had all week! We search high and low when we travel to find places with blue crab claws, and these were the best Ive had to date! I had the Fiesta Amberjack with coconut rice and green beans, it was fantastic...you should get that! No really...do it! Hubs had the blackened hogfish, kids had fish and shrimp tacos, and quesadilla. Everything was so good! Clean restaurant, friendly, fast service...cant be beat. Why didn't we come here sooner? Food, drinks, bartender, oyster shucker, music -- top notch. We walked in during happy hour. What a great experience. Signature drinks on special for $5. I enjoyed the Captain's Martini which is the house infused cracked black pepper & olive vodka, with dry vermouth and blue cheese olives. Then the Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita with tequila, orange liquor, agaves, lemon, lime, cu uber and jalapeno caught my eye. Both delicious! My guy was enjoying a nice IPA. And, Thursday's are 1/2 price bottles of wine! I started with a 1/2 dozen gulf oysters expertly shucked by Herbie. At happy hour they are a mere $1 each and served with all the great accompaniments including fresh grated horseradish upon request. My guy said he had the best burger (Captain's Burger) since we moved to this area three years ago. It was a chuck-short rib blend with bacon, roasted tomato aioli,onion straws, cheddar-jack cheese, & arugula served on a brioche bun. The fries were fresh but overly salty. I tasted the burger and agree with him. I ordered the seafood fra diavolo. It was prepared with tomato bacon broth, clams, mussels, tiny shrimp, andouille over linguine with grilled bread. It was decent but had too much much going on. I am not saying not to order but there are many other choices on the menu to try. The garlic toast was overly salty. We had lots of fun and were able to chat with our bartender/server, Shara, until the bar filled up. Friendly, knowledgeable and a true asset to this restaurant (Herbie, too.) Live music was perfect and everyone was enjoying singing along with him. Definitely a place to stop in again and bring to bring friends too.

Off season parking is sparse, during season forget it. Not impressed with menu. Mostly fried. They use to have excellent green beans but lost that when menu changed. Pricey too.

I went with my grandparents and neither of them where to keen about the noise, cause there is a bar and live music but the food was really good. They had the grouper and both enjoyed it and I had the chicken pasta with garlic sauce which was delicious

...got the “Flyin Hawaiian” and a side salad for the early bird special. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a teriyaki glaze poured over it. Their side salad was a very large portion. I finished off my dinner with a scrumptious peice of key lime pie. I highly recommend Captain Bills!
