If you want to have pizza in one of the cutest restaurants you’ve ever seen, this is it. I’m still amazed at the amount of effort they put into every little detail. Inside is very cool and retro with arcades but outside is just the cutest garden! It is so well put together, no mosquitoes and pet friendly. We had a very peaceful dinner, it almost felt like we were not in Tampa. The pizza was also great. (Kudos for having anchovies in the menu) and the veggie pizza was on point! Absolutely would recommend!

Offers NY or Chicago style pizzas with a large number of topping options to choose from. Vegan cheese and meat-less pepperoni and tempeh are also available for veggie protein substitutions. Decent beers on draft but also offer more varieties in can/bottle inside of the cooler. Great spot!

We enjoy coming to eat pizzas at this place, they offer you 2 styles of pizza (we tried both) the sauce is very tasty and you will have a lot of cheese on your pizzas (a lot of cheese!). I really liked the retro decoration and the old slot machines were a special discovery for my 11 year old son, and to think that they work very well! Excellent attention from the host, we will definitely return soon.

This is really good New York style pizza. One of the best I’ve found close to my house. They do have tables to sit down, however we took out. The restaurant was clean and the staff was really courteous and polite. We will definitely be returning to this pizza place in the future.

It's just great. The pizza is great, the atmosphere is fun and light, the staff is great, all around great experience. I was looking for a dine-in pizza joint with beer and ambiance, that was still kid friendly, this was perfect. They make a Chicago deep dish that's very good, but we all loved the traditional crust options just as much.

It's a great place for pizza. We tried both their Chicago style and their New York style. Both are super good. Tables are awesome with memorabilia stashed under glass that brought back some memories. The menus are on the back of old record covers. Totally worth it.

These are the most legit chicago style pizzas I've ever had and I've been to some of the famous spots in Chicago. You WILL go to flavor town when you eat their pizza. I like the self serve beer fridges and the atmosphere is pretty cool and retro.

This was my 1st time @ Cappy’s… I got the New York thin crust with pepperoni & sausage… The pizza was really good, but was not thin crust as I was expecting… A lot of it was like a traditional style.. The crust, toppings, & sauce were really good.. The cheese was ok… Our server was friendly and not pushy… Would def go back to try the Chicago Deep Dish next time…

Great food! I'm allergic to dairy and it's hard to find pizza I can eat anyway, but this one is the best I've found. We usually get a deep dish pizza and breadsticks both with dairy-free cheese and butter (also vegan). My friend (who eats dairy) ended up loving it more than the typical cheese.

Dioramas under glass at each table of various classic board games and toys. Some old video games in the corner. Very hipster. I was digging the tasteful Rosier the Riveter vibe of our server. Pizza was decent. Overall the place was not super comfortable but very laid back. There are old games you can borrow. My nephew is 11 so we unironically played a number of rounds of rock-um sock-um robots.

Cappy's Pizza is a really great spot for a different pizza choice! Walking in, I see so many things to look at. It's got a neat vintage look to it and features some original 1980s arcade machines, which brought me back. Each time I've visited here, the service was warm and friendly. Nichole made sure we had all our dining needs met and the food was delicious. I don't eat meat, but my veggie pizza was awesome! I was able to get broccoli as a topping...who does that!? The only downside is that they are only open 4-5 hours a night, so lunch there wouldn't be possible. Despite their limited hours, I'll be visiting Cappy's again in the future and recommend it.

Great little dive of a pizza shop. I've been to the one out in St. Pete and the one in Tampa. Both have really different atmospheres but both are worth a visit. The Florida Ave location is more 'divey' with a rough interior and old video games. We'd just come from a pricey hipster restaurant up the street where we called 'No Mas' after we broke $100 and were still hungry. The was the compete opposite, no pretense, good food, decent prices and a relaxed atmosphere. We drank wine and played Missile Command till the pizza was ready. Cappy's saved the night for us.

Finally tried Cappy's after moving in the neighborhood 4 months ago and boy I've been missing out! I kept it simple with a large pepperoni NY Style pizza for carry-out. Crispy crust, lots of cheese and very well seasoned and baked. I will be back over and over again! *Just wish you were open longer and or different times 😎

The pizza is really good with out a complicated menu of 700 different combinations, nice and simple, NY style and Deep dish Chicago. The place is awesomely decorated, very vintage old arcades and pin ball machines and old memorabilia. They have big selection in beer and wines that you can grab yourself. Now the service wasn't to great I think they need at least one dedicated server, the staff that was there today was like doing everything and I think an extra person should do the trick. Also is cash only I don't think that affects the review I just personally don't like that. At least they do have an ATM on site in case you didn't know

Be warned, it is a cash only establishment. Hand made pies, with stretched dough and fresh toppings. A touch of spice and sweet to their sauce is a good hit to me. Pizza done in two styles, NY and Chicago. For a unique taste, try the Chicago style. Be willing to wait for it since it takes a bit of time to cook, and enjoy it as a "dine in" meal. The greek salad is great to start with and has the traditional bit of potato salad with it. There is also a great selection of self serve beers in the cooler. Your server will keep tabs on what you have. The proximity to other great places makes Cappy's even better. Enjoy friends and food, maybe a beer or two, then walk next door for some wonderful live music and beer too.

Great Pizza, it is hard to find good pizza in Florida, but I think that this place may be one of the best in the area. We ordered pepperoni with garlic which is garlic chunks under the cheese and it was delicious, I have never had that before and it was truly one of a kind. They also have a fridge full of beer if you are in the mood as well as a tap. This location is a cash only location as well so just be aware of that and make sure to bring cash.

One of the best pizza places in Tampa. This is a consistent hey if a pizza shop in South Tampa. Good selection of unique pies and plenty of fresh toppings to choose from. Service can be painfully slow at times so be prepared to wait, especially for the check at the end of the meal. Also, be aware they only take cash so hit the ATM prior to arriving. Overall, it is a great pizza if you take the time to go, you will enjoy it!

Cappy's Chicago Style Deep dish is really pretty amazing, closest to a real Chicago pizza that I've found in the Bay area. Can't vouch for all Cappy's locations but Florida avenue is consistent. Fun atmosphere

I really like this pizza restaurant. The Chicago Style Deep Dish was really good, pretty close to the real thing. I'm from Chicago and I could definitely enjoy this if I was home sick. The decor was amazing, very eclectic, show cased Tampa Bay, provided board games to enjoy while you wait and old school pinball and arcade games. If you are not in the mood for pizza I wouldn't come here cause that's pretty much all they serve...salad and cheese bread or breadsticks too...that's it. Simple and I LOVE IT. The service was good too. This is a CASH ONLY restaurant so know that so you won't have to pay service charge at the atm (they have located inside) This seems to be kid friendly. I will return with my 3 kids and see if they enjoy it. Today's visit was a date night for me and the hubby, it was our first time and we both enjoyed it and left FULL. Cant believe I never came here before. Will be back.

Awesome atmosphere and better food, this old school pizzeria is a little slice of nostalgic heaven. Definitely recommend the dine-in experience. Personally, I recommend the calzone, but the deep-dish is a close runner up.

Got a pizza to go to try it out the other night. I walked in and saw all the 80s arcade games and immediately knew I had to go back. That was tonight. We each got our own pizzas, the bread sticks were amazing and the Greek salad even had the potato salad on top. Then I proceeded to whoop my date in Donkey Kong and pinball. It was a great time. The decoration of the place is one of a kind. I highly highly recommend this place. I will be headed back soon with the kids!!

This was my first time here. We sat outside which was so nice. I enjoyed the strung lights and the stone waterfalls. My friend ordered the cheese pizza with fresh basil for us. It was perfect. I really enjoyed it and look forward to returning.

I hate tomatoes and didn't realize the Chicago deep dish style came with it over the top but it was delicious I couldn't believe it!! The taste of the sauce, cheese and meats blended perfectly together, I'm a real foodie I travel out the country a lot and pay to go inside some restaurants kitchen in some of the smaller less fortunate countries any I've been to Italy and their sauce isn't the good I must go back I have been passing this diamond dinner way to long but never again.

Best Pizza in Tampa!!! The Greek salad is also amazing. I love going here because the staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is laid back. The decor gives you plenty to talk about and reminisce about. Be sure to bring quarters to play pinball and cash, because they do not accept cards. You will not be disappointed if you choose to go here. Oh, and for you beer lovers, they have a few good drafts and a bunch of different bottles (something for everyone).

The pizza is really good. Nice people too. They apparently take the whole ‘old school’ theme very seriously so bring cash - no other payment methods accepted, and don’t be late to pick up because they keep your pizza as warm as the shelf they put it on will keep it.

I love their pizza! It's Philly style! Thin crust a little crispy on the bottom. When you bite onto it, the cheese stretches until you break it! Just a touch of pizza sauce. You can fold it over and bite into the crunchy crust!Where have you been all of my Tampa life!❤

Pretty good pizza! To me, a sign of a quality pizza is a nice crispy crust and a pizza that doesn't drip oil everywhere and this checks those off. A little underwhelming on taste, but still delicious! The inside is very retro and full of memorabilia. Cash only, though. And bring coins, they have arcade machines!

Great, eclectic pizza joint in Seminole Heights. They make great pizza, New York style or Chicago style. They even have vegan options. It's pretty darn cute inside too. Each table has a glass case with vintage toys and trinkets. Every menu is made from record album covers. They have good music playing most of the time, not uncommon to get a little Mozz with your mozz cheese. There's not a whole lot of parking but they do have an adjacent parking lot for overflow. They have a good beer selection too. Always fun and damn good pizza.

The best pizza in Tampa and all of our out-of-town guests agree. It's always a hit with everyone we bring. There's a great selection in the self-serve beer cooler. Add the fact that it's self-serve to the warm and friendly staff and it just makes me feel like I'm at a casual house/pizza party. Do yourself a favor and order the Greek salad to start.

It's right at dead average pizza but on my visit nothing to get too excited about. The crust and sauce were okay, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. We ordered the vegetarian and added chicken. The ingredients were sparse and not placed throughout the pie - the chicken tasted like the Tyson bagged version you would get at the grocery store. Service was on the slow side but that's because only one server was working the dining area. The decor in the place is unique and well decorated. Would I go back, probably not.

They have either changed the dough recipe for the Chicago at this location or had a different batch on my visit. I suspect the recipe has been changed... And it is not for the better. Very bready, not the typical snap and crumble you usually get with cappys Chicago style. (And I've been eating it since their original location on Howard almost 20 years ago). Everything else was excellent as usual. I ordered take out so wasn't able to ask.

Bad experience recently. I always get the meatball toppings because the meatballs are soooo good! Recent experience absolutely horrible. They say possibly a change in supplier. I had to actually pick off the meatballs in order to even eat my pizza. I hope this is temporary. Beware fyi.

Great pizza, that's what I had, both a large cheese, and a small deep dish. Plenty of flavor and cheese, it's not easy being cheesy =) The large pizza was yummy and the crust was delish, the deep dish, was just as good with so much cheese =) Was working across the street, they have a big beer selection, so a 6-pack & 2 pies, ready in 20 minutes and they walked it across the street to me =) might be cuz I missed the call, worth it, stop @ Cappys and have something to eat and drink! Cash-only local pizza place with retro theme. Feature both Chicago (deep dish) and NY style as well as sodas and beer. Good selection of toppings and ingredients are good quality - tastes homemade. Personally I like their Chicago style a bit more. The NY style just isn't quite right to my taste. I think the dough isn't quite greasy or chewy enough. Overall it's a great pizza place with cute decor that isnt too cheesy.. just has that divey edge to round it out.

Great food and a outstanding style. Has some Old-Fasion gaming cabinets and pinball that could be played for hours. This is great in the visual department but the service was very slow. Very Very slow. I waited at the entrance for about 5 minutes before being seated then waited another 15 minutes before the waitress came over to get my drink. This Wasn't to bad but still had a long wait, maybe 6ish minutes. I figured out what to order but I had to wait 23 MINUTES! That's outrages for the amout of people that were in there (Only 4 tables). We waited about 20-30ish minutes for our pizza and salad. The food was worth the wait though, it's hot and you can taste the fresh ingredients. I would recommend if you have time to spare and a good amout of people.

Ive only fantasized about pizza like this. I get a medium deep dish with cheese and pepperoni. Nothing fancy. And MY GOD ITS THE BEST. I tell everyone to go here. I don't mind waiting for it. Then, when you take some pizza home, its better the next day. Cook it on a frying pan on low/med. That crust will be divine. This is where blessings come true. Cappys pizza, everybody.

Solid, but not great. Slow start to service, but made up for that. Our server was very personable. Pizza crust is a bit tough. Not as good as Eddie & Sam's, but better than Precinct. Place could use a bit more lighting, too. And accept credit or debit.

Really great vibe here combined with fresh ingredients makes for a fantastic experience! It was our first time at Cappys but the first of many to come. I asked for a white pizza which they dont advertise but it was awesome fresh artichokes ripe tomatoes and spinach. In general everything was delicious as well as made with care...the toppings were placed not thrown around...they take pride in their product. Also had a local vinyl album store playing records...very cool... lots of families. It was VW night...great busses in the lot..all in all we cant wait to go back.

hope you’re not in a hurry...after we were seated, it was about 50mins before the food arrived at our table. to be fair, the waitress told us that the deep dish takes longer to make, but damn....i didn’t expect almost an hour wait time. cool atmosphere, reasonable prices. good service. seemed a bit under staffed....restaurant was almost full, but there was only 2 waitresses working. oh, and it’s cash only (in 2018?!?!). there are signs posted at the front of the place, but still...just a heads up!

The best pizza in town. I like the original location on Forida ave south of Hillsborough ave.they run a train built between the wall and ceiling with about 30 cars on it. It's very cool to have it running in the background. NY Thin Crust pizza and a Greek salad is what I usually have.

Delicious New York style pizza, with an 80's flair. This pizzeria will take you back a couple of decades, where you can enjoy arcade games like Donkey Kong or Galaga or space invaders. The entire place is decorated in vintage fashion with old toys and knick knacks surrounding you on the walls. All of this along with memorabilia inside the shadowbox tables you eat on! This is a great place to enjoy pizza with friends who enjoy nostalgia but take note that thr booths are not ergonomically designed for comfort making it difficult to lean back so if you have a back injury or complication i would recomend bringing a pad or pillow to sit on. Also, it is CASH ONLY! So bring cash and quarters so you can play some arcade games.

The kitschy decor, trivial pursuit cards to pass the time, help yourself sodas, spacious tables, great staff, and... oh yeah, awesome Chicago style Vegan deep dish pizza that will knock your sandals off! Seminole Heights is the only Cappy's offering vegan options. Toppings include locally sourced tempeh and Daiya cheese. The sauce is amazing and the trendy hipster vibe makes it worth a visit. They are cash only, though, but there is an ATM on site.
