Babushka's is a wonderful up-scale European restaurant in Hyde Park. I am not qualified to say whether or not they are truly "authentic" but the food was absolutely delicious and the place was gorgeous. The cocktails were smooth and the service was impeccable. It felt comfortable and cozy while also elegant. I think they are kid-friendly, as long as you understand it's not a Chili's. The prices might give you that vibe too. I personally wouldn't bring all of my kids here, but one at a time they'd do okay. They are handicap accessible. We spent $90 on lunch for two adults and a kid, and it made for a very nice day date. I'd go again.

This was really good; definitely a hidden gem. The host at the door was really friendly and accommodating. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The person I was with had the Khachapuri Pie; I tried a bite and it was very good; the ingredients blended together very well and it was very flavor forward. I'll likely order this the next time I come. I order the Chicken Kiev; also very good. The dipping sauce was amazing and worked well with it. The mead was amazing; very flavorful and will likely get again. I've never had mead before, but this was very good. I will be back soon to try more items on the menu and will bring others.

This was our first visit to Babushka's. Atmosphere was nice, very friendly and attentive servers/staff. Food was very good. We had a party of 5 and everyone loved their dinner. We would definitely go back.

Amazing five star dining experience! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The server was helpful and took time to explain dishes to us. We started off with some Mushroom Blinchiki, Adjaruli Khachpuri, Potato Vareniki, and Khinkali Dumplings. We also tried the Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Kiev. By the way, the mashed potatoes were so delicious... We ordered some to bring home with us. Wonderful food and so much to choose from we can't wait to return. Beautiful atmosphere and decor. This is a must! Please come check this place out. You won't be disappointed! Thanks!

Came here for a girls’ dinner. Ordered some dumplings, beef straganoff and lamb with rice. The dough for the dumplings were too thick for my liking. Overall the foods were ok, I preferred the one in Temple Terrace. Service was good, the server was very attentive. Parking is behind the restaurant that’s not paved, on an empty lot. So keep that in mind if you’re wearing heels.

Definitely a unique restaurant to visit. Although service was slower than usual, it is understandable since there is a staff shortage. The kindness and food 100% makes up for it. I throughly enjoyed the ambiance, and food. Can not wait to try again! Do not forget to get the White Russian drink.

First time here. We had a late lunch, celebrating our anniversary. They were so welcoming... The food was amazing and authentic, our server was amazing too! Highly recommend this spot. We had Blinshiki, perrogies and a cheese pie (cant remember the name) and some turkish coffee 😋... its unbelievable that This place had reservations canceled because of what is going on in their country, which is stupid! They have no fault in that, they dont support what its happening or Putin's actions... please go and show your support to this local business.

This was our first time at the new location in Hyde park. Babushka’s has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We were so happy to see that they opened a new location. They have spent a lot of time and effort to make this a beautiful and comfortable dining experience. The fall drinks were delicious. We had the PUMPKIN SPICE WHITE RUSSIAN and it was fantastic. We were a party of 7 so we got a few appetizers to share. The Semga bruschettas were piled with salmon. No skimping here. The Khachapuri pie is all it is described and more. Ask for extra dill sauce you will put it on everything. The Samsa with beef or cheese is big and delicious. There are two and they are big enough to share with 4 people. The Adjaruli Khachapuri is delicious. Don’t let the egg turn you away. The yoke mixes with the cheese and butter to make it so creamy and tasty! I can’t remember what everyone got as far as entrees but I know we all went home happy and with full bellies. They are open for lunch so give Babushka’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Had lunch at this location today. It was a little fancier than expected, so cute inside! Food was delicious, wish we had saved room for dessert. The wait for food and drinks was a little long but hopefully they work that out after being open for a bit.

Being a Russian I can totally truly review this restaurant. From the moment I walked in I felt like the decor was appropriate. It represented the Russian culture beautifully. The Burch tree branches on the bar and the Russian fabrics are all a beautiful representation of my country. We ordered Borsch (red beets soup) that was served with black bread, true reflection of the Russian cuisine. Next, we ordered draniki and meat blinkchiki, they came warm right off the pan with sour cream, delicious!!! I would highly recommend anyone who is interested to experience the Russian kitchen to visit.

My first time ever trying Russian food, and I loved it! I ordered the Plov and sampled alot of their other meals, everything was very good. Huge portions full of flavor and meats! My waitress was also very informative about Russian foods and culture. It was a great experience overall.

The food was delicious. We went here for our anniversary, so we went big & ordered many things on the menu to treat ourselves. Salmon, sauerkraut dumplings, mimosa, mushroom blinchiki - all of them were delicious & beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was amazing, the servers were very kind. They did forget that my boyfriend ordered salmon, but then once we reminded them it was out very quickly after. That did make the overall time we spent there much longer due to the wait, but we still enjoyed it! The host at the door was very welcoming & from the moment you walk in until you leave it feels like a special place to dine in. Thanks again!

Pleasant staff, fantastic atmosphere, and delicious food! The hachapuri pie was heavenly. It felt designer-cozy, not stuffy- fancy. The charming exterior shows no detail neglected. The Russian rock music playing in the background did not fit the sweet atmosphere, but was true to form based on our experience overseas. I saw other people rate it as much more expensive than our experience. Granted, we did not order alcohol, but three of us had a very satisfying meal for less than $100.

Wanted to try something completely different so we went here! Loved it. Such a cute atmosphere and food is delicious. We ordered the Khinkali Babushka's Dumplings, pickle mix, and the Chicken Kiev. The dumplings were our favorite full of flavors and great texture. Loved the Chicken Kiev beautiful presentation and unique pleasant flavor.

I found the place to be overpriced for what they served. OK, I might not be used to the prices around Tampa but I was not impressed. I had Borscht and Kiev chicken. These dishes were OK, although the chicken was a little hard and too salty for my taste. Maybe I could have asked for a less salty chicken. The soup was fine, though. Would I send friends here? I would tell them my opinion. I don't know if there are any other Russian restaurants around there so there might not be that many choices. I would definitely look around for something better.

Russian cuisine and caviar comes to Tampa?! ..well sort of..! Turns out this js the sister restaurant of the one in Temple Terrace. Who would have thunk that lil ol Tampa would have such culinary options?? Fine red Georgian wine (the country in Europe, not the US State), kamchatka red salmon caviar, hachapuri pie, & meat blinchiki were our starters. For my first time trying caviar, I have to admit I was quite impressed. Our group then settled in for Moscow mules (Russian restaurant, duh!), delicious beef stroganoff, moist chicken tabaka, and plov for our main meals and we could not have been happier! This quiet spot, located on the outskirts of Hyde park occupies the old Boca restaurant location. They kept all of the old building aesthetics including the strong wood beams, unique seating, and open bar. We’ll definitely return and bringing friends!

Phenomenal food and even better service. While walking around the corner to the entrance their perfectly manicured landscaping contrasted the casual urban environment, foreboding this establishments attention to detail. From the decor and cleanliness to the service and menu descriptions, execution and attention to detail are their forte inaddition to a certain warmness. I could not be more stunned by my introduction to a new region's cuisine. I will be back.

I’m not quick to write reviews unless we are truly impressed. My husband and I were searching for something new to try on date night - we were not disappointed !! My husband has spent time in Eastern Europe and said the authenticity of our dishes was legit , it was all delicious. We started with lamb dumplings - some on here said too doughy but we didn’t think so. They were delightful. For entrees my husband ordered the lamb shashlik and I ordered the chicken shashlik - both really good. My husband said my chicken might have been the best he’s ever had, perfectly grilled. We ended the night with two desserts, the honey cake and the pancakes with condensed milk & we ordered a pot of tea. I wish I had pictures but I was too distracted by all the good food! The prices IMO are very fair for S Tampa. We can’t wait to come back & try more things on the menu!!

I have been here twice now (once with the kids, 10 and 12, and once with just my husband and myself). We have not been disappointed. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting and the servers are polite and accommodating. The food is what I picture in my head to be what a Russian friend’s grandmother would serve you if you came to visit their country farm. Savory meat and carbs. The epitome of comfort food.

Love the interior with Russian decorations and beautiful pothos plants. Friendly waiter who got replaced with a Russian one (probably after they noticed we speak Russian). We got kompot (natural juice) and that was good, hachapuri (bread with cheese and egg yolk) was amazing! Soleanka (soup) was ok but with no meat. Golubtzi (beef and rice cabbage rolls) had good filling but the cabbage was a bit too tough/ hard to chew.

This review is fresh from their soft opening. Most of my photos have already been loaded but here are two of a Moscow Mule and two of their desserts, the Napoleon (left) and the Honey Cake (right). There were the normal opening night hiccups of some food timing being off, but the staff was extremely attentive and comped a few items to make things right. I had the Borscht and the Chicken Kiev, both were absolutely fantastic. My wife had the Creamy Mushroom Soup and the Russian Style Salmon, both of her dishes were excellent as well. Once the kitchen/staff gets in the proper rhythm, this place will shine.

3 stars are given only for the quality of drinks(infused) and the server from France who was extremely friendly, professional and took care of our party. As for the food 1 star would be a lot. For the ones who compared this place with Mari Vanna in DC - probably never tried authentic Russian food. - mushroom soup - creamy and smells like vomit! - pork kabob (shashlik) too dry and you need to have an extra paor of teeth to chew it - potato vareniki - pure disaster. Doesn't taste even close to real vareniki. Get ravioli with potato from local grocery store and they will taste better - golubtsi - cabbage is not fresh and meat is not tender. Sauce is made from unknown ingredients - solyanka - taste like water with sausage boiled in it. Whoever cooked it missed the part of the recipe - olivier - too dry - plov - was good - khachapuri - was tasty - honey cake - AMAZING - napoleon - dry and not sweet - hot tea was not hot - coffee - AMAZING - chicken tabaka - was great - kids meals - kids loved it

the most authentic russian food i’ve tried in the USA actually, even in Moscow this level of quality is quite rare solyanka, vinegret and syrniki are to die for medovik (honey cake) is amazing, just like my grandma used to make. they rarely make it this way in Russia anymore the presentation and service are also very good overall, exceeds expectations. highly recommend

Thank you for making my birthday so special! From traditional dishes to caviar and variety of drinks and most of all service, absolutely everything was outstanding! Table was beautifully decorated and plated before we arrived. I would like to note that we ordered for 5 people and every single dish came out perfectly. True home-made Russian food!

I had dinner on a Friday night with friends at Babushka's in Hyde Park. The restaurant is super cute. I ordered the house red wine (very good), pierogies for an appetizer and Chicken Kiev for the main course. The restaurant is extremely noisy. It was hard to talk between friends. After ordering the wine, we asked for bread. The bread was my favorite part of the meal. It was small, square pieces of dark bread with a delicious sour cream dip. The appetizer came out with the main course (not good). We were told after ordering the appetizer that the main course would not be ready for about 25 minutes. We were not able to sit and enjoy our appetizer. We also had to flag down any waiter that we could find to order more wine (not good). I took one bite of the Chicken Kiev and that was it. It had a funny smell to it and tasted uncooked (not sure). One other friend had the same reaction to her Chicken Kiev. We both did not eat it. Another unfortunate design flaw, the restaurant only has one bathroom for women. This is bad. A line was forming right into the dining room. I would go back for lunch and try out other dishes. Overall the service was good. I would go back for lunch to try other dishes.

Since my review The Establishment has placed a Ukrainian flag at the entrance. The flag ruins my appetite, as I don't support Nazism. Tasty. The beef stroganoff and borscht soup delicious.

Good food and atmosphere with room yo grow. We have been going to the other location for years and love it! Unfortunately this new location was out of all of the food we originally ordered so we had to pick new menu items to go with. The Borscht unfortunately was not made with beets- it looked and tasted like a tomato base instead. The waiters were very friendly, although they forgot 2 of our items we ordered. Obviously they just opened up so I am very optimistic that they will work out their operation issues soon enough. Still a good experience!

We are going to give this place another chance in a few months, in hopes they get in a better groove once they've been open awhile. Service was ok, but seemed they were short handed. It took awhile to get our food, the appetizer & main courses came out together. What we had was good, nice flavors. I had the Plov, wasn't much lamb meat, mainly just rice. My husband had the beef stroganoff, good flavor but came out cold & looked like it had been at the bottom of a pot cooking all day, dry & crusty, we didn't send it back because we'd waited so long at that point we didn't want to wait longer for another one to come out. The honey cake was yummy.

Tatiana and Antoine are phenomenal servers and we had a marvelous experience. This was easily the best food we had in Tampa. Must try the dumplings with veal, the caviar with blintchiki, the housemade vodka, and the Georgian wine.

Babushka is always wonderful. This was my first time at this location. We frequent the Temple Terrace location often. Excellent as usual. A great brand. Try anything that ends in blinchiki. Plov and Golubtzy is my favorite!

Antoine provided us WORLD CLASS SERVICE. Everything we ordered tasted phenomenal, from the country beef skillet, to the tea (probably most flavorful and aromatic tea I’ve ever had), to the sweets. The ambience here is incredible, the staff is hard working and professional, and very kind and informative on food recommendations. Cute atmosphere, delicious food, food came pretty quick. service was good initially then when got busy the service was very poor. Waited 20+ minutes after finished eating to get waiters attention, after multiple attempts had to ask another server for assistance. Ordered a cheesecake based on their online menu QR code at the table (raspberry swirls with crème brûlée topping) and was given a plain piece of cheesecake. Was still good but not what was on the menu which was very disappointing. Lost two stars for service, surety men’s restroom, and for the menu discrepancy.
