Reviews of Ava

Highly recommend coming in for Happy Hour! The 8" happy hour pizzas are perfect for a single person and at a great price. I got the basil pesto pizza, which was awesome, and the Ava dip which was ok but I found to have a bit of a strange taste (but to each their own). The bartender was friendly and served drinks quickly.
I sat inside, but they also have an extensive outside covered seating area, which would be nice when the weather is good.

Beautiful little restaurant!
Great options on the menu and they won’t overwhelm you with a 7 page menu…
The wood fire pizza was delicious - we had La Bestia, with spicy sausage.
I also had the Filet Mignon which was served with gnocchi. The steak was cooked to perfection even though it was a thinner cut.
I’ll definitely go back to try other menu items.
Service was a bit slow but it was overshadowed by the deliciousness of the food.

Our first time coming to Ava after a coworker recommended this place to my girlfriend. We decided to have a nice dinner before going to see our families for Christmas. The parking was fairly easy in a nearby garage, it was a Thursday night but still active. We were seated quickly and were tended to often. Our waitress was great, helpful and knowledgeable. The ambiance was great along with the food and the drinks. We had the bolognese and the chicken parm with a number of different drinks that we tried and loved. We had a great night and we both agreed that we would come back to try some other dishes on the menu.

Celebrated Mother's Day tonight at Ava's. Sat on the patio...fans and breeze kept it comfortable. Had Nicole as our server she was friendly, professional, attentive and did not rush us. We had the fried artichokes for an appetizer...they were delicious. Our party also had the Pomadora, the oxtail buccatini and the vegan chicken parm. Everyone loved their meals, portion size was good. Overall, pleasant atmosphere and good food.

The restaurant is lovely. The service is friendly. Street parking is available. Honorable mentions for this place.. the mussels and shrimp scampi were really good, we asked for extra bread to soak up the delicious broth/sauce. And the pastas were all tasty. But the one worth most of the review… the Boneless Half Chicken. I love this dish! I rarely ever order chicken at restaurants but I’m so glad I saw a review about how amazing this dish was so I had to try it. The skin is nice & crispy and the chicken is moist cooked perfectly, not dry at all. The accompaniments with the chicken are delicious. I suggest asking for extra lemon caper butter sauce when ordering because you’ll want it for every bite. It’s honestly 1 of the only 2 chicken dishes I would recommend to people. When in Los Angeles, Cassia’s chicken. When in Tampa, Ava’s chicken!

Cute , chic yet casual place. Our waitress( can't remember her name for the life of me) was friendly, attentive and accommadating. We ordered mussels as an app and our entrées at the same time . About 10 minutes later our waitress told us that the kitchen never told her that they were out of mussels. She said to order something else and she'd take care of the mussels on the bill, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the lamb I got was pretty overcooked, at least for my liking. I'm guessing they started it around the time they would've started the mussels and then we had to wait for the new app we ordered. So by the time we got our entrées my lamb was overcooked.

I was looking for a good Italian restaurant in Tampa and on google came through Ava. So we booked a reservation for Friday. It is a nice restaurant with a nice decor and parking garage nearby. We were seated by the receptionist and greeted by the server Hunter with the water and menu. After browsing through the menu we decided to order 1919 Mule, Ravioli, Funghi Pizza, Italian Mango and Chicken Parmesan. The service is pretty bad and we had to wait a lot to get our food. The service is the drawback of the restaurant. First we got our drinks. The drinks were good. Nice mango drink. Then we got our Ravioli. Ravioli was delicious. Loved the ravioli. Then we got our pizza and chicken parmesan. Loved the pizza as well as the parmesan. Nice food with good taste.

Our first time visiting for lunch. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delightful. Our meals were served timely and so so yummy! I will visit again! I love Ava's.

Pizza is to die for, skinny margarita well prepared but we ordered two main plates, the half chicken and the Parmigian chicken, and we didn't superb!
Also pricing was on the high end:
2 skinny margaritas (8 oz)
1 Italian drink (non alcoholic)
1 crab bisque
1 bruschetta
1 pizza
1 chicken Parmigian
1 1/2 chicken
+ tip
$150.00
Service was auperb!

Sunday Brunch and it was busy. Food ideas look very appetizing and drink menu too. They advertise $20 bottomless mimosas, but we stuck to the drink menu. Being a fan of Monte Cristos, I ordered theirs and was anxiously excited to try. However, (as seen in photo) mine was more than cooked, more like burnt. Surprisingly they let it leave the kitchen like that I ate half but couldn't do the rest. The berry sauce was delicious and the home fries were good but also way over cooked. Service could have been better, but again it was a Sunday and brunch. Overall just ok..

Unfortunately, cannot give place 5 stars due to poor service by the waitress Olivia E. This place has to be better than what I experienced today and it was my 1st time dining there. My drink JUST IN THYME was delicious as well my friends' drinks were. I ordered Veggie Omelette to which I asked to add avocado, however, it came with the side of guacamole instead. I get that guac is made of avocado, but I specifically asked if they had avocado to which Olivia said "yes". The food runner, however, said that they didn't and that's why they gave me guac. I feel like I should have been told this while I was ordering/as soon as she realized there was no avocado. Olivia still charged me for it, only because she NEVER CAME BY our table after we got our food so she did not even know I sent it back. We sat with empty water glasses for over an hour and then chased her down for our check. We gave our cards to split the bill evenly and when we got our checks back Olivia removed the itemized receipt. The final price for each of us did not make sense so we asked for her to bring the itemized receipt back. When she brought it I realized that she charged us gratuity for a party of 3. Never experienced anything like this unless I am at a nice spot somewhere in Miami or New York City. The fact that I was charged 18% gratuity for my server to first wait 45 minutes to come by to place the order and then not come back for 2+ hours is unacceptable. We were at AVA's for 3+ hours and Olivia E. never came back to check on us or to see if we wanted another drink. We would have ordered more, but she never bothered to ask. I hope managers/owners read this so they can address the lack of care for customer experience by their team member. The food was good: both omelette and salmon salad, and I hope next time (if I decide to give this restaurant another shot), I will have an adequate service experience.

I often give 2nd chances if I believe improvement is possible. My first visit was terrible but this time was much different. The people were very nice, the food was better and the service was good. I got a Marghareta Pizza and liked the thin crust, zesty flavor and a good mozarella. Bumped my rating up a star.
Tampa Bay Restaurant Week. Ava
I had the prix fixe meal for $35. It was a bad experience, this place has to be better than what I encountered. The service was bad and some of the food was terrible. My bread was burnt, old and cold, I tried to eat it but couldn't. I was talked into the Cavatelli and it just made my mouth unhappy, the fennel sausage was awful. The Meatballs were good, very tender and tasty. The Tiramisu was just average.
Again, I must re-iterate how bad the service was. I felt unwanted and like I was a bother. My meatballs were actually tossed on to my table. Funny, she got really sweet when she handed me the check.
Misty Brown Fischer
We have always loved Ava, but this last visit was so impressive that it led me to create this review. Our dishes were tremendous. Freshly made and tasted so authentic. Having recently visited Tuscany, we have been craving great Italian that doesn’t kill the budget, and this was the perfect fit.
Try the ravioli, pork shank, gnocchi and baby amarone (wine).
TampaRestaurantGuide DotCom
I removed one star for the bread they bring to the table. Literally the worst bread of any I've had around here. The first batch was burnt which I guess they're after the visual appeal of it, but even the second unburnt batch was not good.
The meatballs were good and the ravioli was excellent. Atmosphere is nice.
Nomar Delgado
This is a great italian place, the atmosphere is relaxed and very comfortable. The service is great and fast. The menu might not be extensive but it is perfect for a date night or a night with friends. The food fresh, well prepared and not overpriced. Definitely the place to go if you are feeling like eating authentic Italian food.
Alex I.
Won't be back. Food and drinks were fine, but the place is very loud, which makes it almost impossible to have a conversation; service is insanely slow. It took an hour to get drinks. Waiter did not refill water or coffees either.
Brendan McDowell
Great spot for brunch. Try the breakfast pizza, great to share.
Don Dunne
Was here for a business dinner and the staff were on point, even the trainee did a great job. Food was delicious and worth it. Great bartender with some great suggestions for drinks. She was engaging yet knew how to work the bar

We went to the SoHo location. Really good customer service. The stars are a reflection of good service because we did not enjoy our dinner at all. We went to pickup takeout from another restaurant afterwards. The food was tasteless. It was incredibly bland. Zero flavor. There’s so many great ingredients on the menu just a shame the right herbs aren’t used to bring out the flavors. We both had pasta dishes.
T
Divine. Braised boar and a glass of Malbec. Even as simple as the bread they start you off with, by itself, without having to be dipped in the olive oil (although I still did), is so very good

Billy was awesome! Best server we’ve had and we are frequent regulars. Kept our cups full and was super knowledgeable on the menu. Deff will continue to come here and request him every time !

We had a large team holiday party event with about 20 people. The food was good, although the plate that I got, and my spouses, was on the cooler side. Like it had been plated first and sat. All of the food was good. I especially liked the date and goat cheese salad. There was a long delay between the salad/appetizer course and when the main courses were served. There were also points where drinks sat empty. I understand it being a bigger party, but I would also say the place was empty and there were plenty of other staff who could have helped if our server was in the weeds. I felt the service in general was lacking. Overall it was an okay experience. It's about 30 minutes from our house and while it was fine, I would say that I probably wouldn't go again because I would prefer to explore other culinary options in the area.

Good food and great service! Loved the desert with whiskey! My new fav!

The food, service and atmosphere here was fantastic. We had dinner outside with the lovely weather and had a fabulous experience. Will definitely come here again.
Johnathon Frost
Charming trattoria with a fun and engaging server. Delicious selection of affettati y formaggi platters. The braised pork shank was a mouthwatering presentation and ate a good as it looked. Would go again.

Nicely distanced high tops and a wicked happy hour to boot, can't beat the draft Peroni, love Italian beer! Wife ordered the salmon which was perfectly cooked. I had the sirloin, little over cooked, desired medium rare but still excellent flavor, I cleaned the plate. Mussels were a decent starter too. Stoked to visit again, next time we'll try inside and their pie/pizza!
Grace Hickey
I had the best experience at Ava. The food was perfectly timed and the service was great. The staff is very kind. I recommend the bolognese and the twin filets. I will definitely be back!
Mary Lodato
Ordered sirloin. Came with a mash potatoe croquette with very little flavor and 4-5 pieces of asparagus. The steak was good, well seasoned with sauce. We had appetizer, gorganzola spread and Olive tempenade. Just okay. Had Canollis for desert. The "canolli" cream inside just tasted of whipped cream. Worse canolli I ever had. Service was good. Atmosphere was that of football stadium. Had to read my cousin's lips. Expensive and not worth the price.

We arrived early on a Thursday night to celebrate my daughter's college graduation so as not to be part of sky weekend crowds. We were seated promptly and our server was quick to pop in thankfully as we were not given a wine/drink menu.
The ambiance is nice, it has that open kitchen, rustic feel with the pizza oven featured prominently as the center of attention. I order a glass of an Amarone, which proved to be tight and very woody. For appetizers we ordered the mussels, crispy pork belly and chef's selection cheese and meat charcuterie. A plate of house baked bread and olive oil arrived, as expected, ahead of the apps. The bread is rich, thick, and very doughy, cooked in the pizza oven. It's not bad, it's just heavy, which is ok ahead of a meal. However, the charcuterie and the mussels arrived with a generous helping of the same bread which them becomes very heavy before a meal. Perhaps the charcuterie could have used toast points made from the bread, or a variant of the bread that was less intimidating.
The charcuterie, itself, was fair but minimal in it's offering for $32 and lacked flair or finesse that the promise of house made often has. The mussels were served in a broth that was, itself, outstanding, but somehow the mussels themselves lacked that flavor except for those submerged in the broth. I feel like the mussels were baked, then thrown into a bowl with the sauce. The pork belly was very good, the hash it was served with gave it texture and depth and a sweetness to balance the saltines of the pork.
I ordered a Sangiovese, again overly oaked and not characteristic of the varietal. We had ordered a selection of entrees, a filet with greens and gnocchi, eggplant parm, lobster risotto, and fennel sausage cavatelli.
The filet was well prepared, the gnocchi tender and light, and the greens not overly prepared. The flavor was good. The eggplant was very well prepared, crisply finished without being burnt or greasy, the pasta was al dented and the sauce was well made; not acidic or overly sweetened. The lobster risotto was disappointing. The taste of the stock was more shrimp than it was lobster or even seafood. The consistency of the risotto was good, creamy and rich, but the stock and salt were overpowering.
The sausage cavatelli, with all the kindness I can muster, was reminiscent of Chef Boyardee meatballs and pasta of my poor, disadvantaged, youth. I love fennel sausage and I love cavatelli, and this dish missed both. The sausage was just the filling browned in a pan, offering a weak texture and poorly mixed ingredients. The cavatelli was dense and felt like gnocchi that was beaten into shape. The sauce was, in it's accompaniment, generic. It felt out of place.
For dessert we tasted the tiramisu and their selection of (gratuitous for the neighborhood) Buddy Brew coffee. It was fair.
Final impressions would be that I'm not sure that a $300,$400, or $500 dinner for 4 is where AVA should be. I get that it's an excellent location and they, undoubtedly, have good word of mouth based on that, the offering is still fairly generic and feels like it served Italian for the sake of saying it was Italian.

Moderately priced for the area. Amazingly delicious wood fired pizza. Fantastic cocktails.
I was in town for work and decided to just go out on my own for a bit. I ventured to this trendy part of town and found a bevy of nice places. Being in the mood for pizza, I found this place to be a great choice. I ordered a pizza that had sausage on it, a fancy cocktail, and ended the night with a tart for dessert. All in all it was a delicious meal.
To top it off, my server was fantastic. He was prompt, funny, and just provided great service even though it was a pretty busy night. I appreciated the conversation he provided.
I left full and happy.
Lina Marcela
Good service and atmosphere. French toast was good but do not order a salad it’s literally just a slab of spinach on a plate.
Doreen
Food was very good and outdoor seating made it perfect for dining on a Saturday evening. The portion of warm ricotta cheese was excellent but I thought overpriced. We also had baked chicken and the tagliatelle pasta and beef special. Waitress was very nice. We

Enjoyable menu. Good food and tasty. Nice features wine. Good service and responsive even with a larger group. Good selections.
Russell Horton
A better than average brunch place with a subtle italian flare. I enjoyed every item of food I had and wouldn't hesistate to come back. The service was to be exected and I have no complaints about it.
The restroom is placed a bit unusually as I watched nearly every patron go the wrong way before being directed to whefe it actually was. Just more of an FYI.
Worth the visit

Food was excellent. It excelled our expectations. Wait staff was very helpful and attentative. Great place to go to impress a client.

I was a bridesmaid that attended a bridal party dinner out at Ava. The cons: 8pm reservation but they switched us to 8:30pm last minute. The food was...not great. Like really not great. I'm not sure if this was was just a busy night issue, a kitchen issue or an overall restaurant issue. We had to send multiple dishes back because they were either made incorrectly and/or tasted bad.
The pros:
They usually don't sit parties that were our size (about 10 people). They accommodated us with a last minute reservation, inside seating and all together. We greatly appreciated this!
The drinks were great! Pricing wasn't too bad on the menu overall. And anytime that an entree needed to be fixed it was done quickly.
The biggest pro was our server - Anna! She was so professional, attentive and kind. We were a big party with a lot of separate checks which is never a servers favorite part of the night - but she treated us with such grace! Management (a nice woman - I don't remember her name) even came out when things get busy. Love to see management being team players!!
Mike
Haven't been in a while, shame on me. Great Smoking gun drink. Good size portions on the shareables we got. Shrimp, scallops and salad.
Bianca Roa
Our waitress, Lizzie, was so nice and fun. She gave really good recommendations and we enjoyed the food immensely.
Armando Acosta
First time here. Very nice place, excellent service, We ordered octopus as a antipasti an for main entre we choosed swordfish and pasta with pesto sauce. Delicious. For me the octopus and the swordfish were fantastic.
Libby Wetterhan
We love Ava! The pizza and the bolognese are to die for. We always have had good service and the ambience is really nice.
Daren Pippio
Order was incorrect for drinks and appetizers, as well as timing of courses. Manager stepped in and all was good after. Food is great, but very loud.
Kim vien
Subpar service. Waited at the bar, was never offered an option to wait for table. Great options for food, but mediocre food. There are better options out there, don’t waste your time.
Kristen Wahl
Billy our server was the best! Kept our drinks full and was fully attentive! Treated us like royalty
Johnny Fidi
Simply the most underrated resturant in Tampa and the best pizza anywhere. Love the vibe and the drinks as well. We alwsys sit at the bar and the bartenders are second to none. Love ava.
Monica Cortes
Such a great spot for brunch! The vibe was very relaxing and intinate withthe private room towards the back. The price of all the plates was reasonable and you get a lot of delicious food for a deal! The staff was so nice and I wish I could be closer to come back more often.
John Roberts
Pizza was burnt at the armature works location and I couldn't review there - they offered to replace it, but man, I hate to waste good Pizza and be a karen. Mind the fire friends.
Mariana Flores
Excellent place and food, good atmosphere. I recommend Basilico Pesto.
Cibeles Salomon
Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was so good! We loved the food but most of all we really loved the service! Lizzy was extra nice and super helpful. We will definitely be back!
Ariana Perez
Great concept. Staff was wonderful. Food tasted great but it fell a little short for me. Overall a nice experience.
Rudy Dorough
We loved this place. It was a weekday and wasn’t busy but food and atmosphere was laid back

My wife and I went to Ava's in Tampa. Wonderful restaurant! Kelly or Waitress was fantastic and took great care of us ... they start you with bread (baked in house) and their own brand Olive oil which we bought 2 bottles of cause it was that AMAZING! I had a pasta dish with a mushroom ragu and a 360°egg sorry forget the pasta type. My wife had the Sirloin steak which she loved ... highly recommend Ava's if you are in or near Tampa

We visited AVA Thursday night. Just had to get out of the house! It is a large, lively restaurant. We ordered a delicious salad w/goat cheese and walnuts, etc. Split between us and it was large. Enjoyed very much. Then we ordered their goat cheese, mushroom, tomato etc., Pizza. The taste eas delicious, but the dough was just that... doughy! I ate it cuz I was hungry and hubby did too. Leftover he re-heated today was crispier and w/that delish taste, it was very good. It almost felt like we were eating raw crust at the restaurant that tasted really good. The red wine suggested to me by our AWESOME SERVER CORY was delicious. Cory was the diamond in the rough. What I'd love to tell Donald, the manager of 2 restaurants, one we've been to and going back is that they're missing out on a great opportunity to serve great pizza. But, their business and we're 2 people who may or may not return. Cory, have a fabulous time in Italy. I'm jealous!!🥰🥰

My wife and I along with another couple visited Saturday 4/9. My wife I and dined at Ava multiple times previously so we were excited to introduce our friends to one of our favorite restaurants. I wish I could say we impressed them. But no.
We started with the Meatballs and the Bruschetta appetizers. Fairly sized portion and flavorful. For the entre, my wife and her friend ordered the Wood Grilled Sirloin with potato croquette and asparagus. While it was flavorful, the portion was disturbingly small. The sirloin was roughly the size of an Italian sausage. Our other guest ordered the Boneless Half Chicken. Again, flavorful but the portion was more like of a canary. I’ve had that Boneless Half Chicken before; multiple times and it was out of this world! What happened!? I had the Gnocchi con Coniglio. Here the portion was fair, but it was completely flavorless! How about a little butter , Sweet Vermouth or white wine…something!
The only saving grace was when our friends ordered the Nutella Mousse Cake with peanut butter whiskey for dessert. The whiskey paired well with the mousse, and it was thoroughly enjoyed. In conclusion, apparently something(s) changed. Some of the portions have been greatly reduced and that deep rich flavor is now bland. The only reason why this experience was not forgettable, was because it reminded me of how good Ava used to be.
Sarah Kimbro
My favorite Italian restaurant in Tampa! Great atmosphere, quick service, and delicious food. I LOVE the salmon spaghetti entree! Their wine selection and skinny margarita are also great.
Krista Fernandez
I went to Ava for my birthday brunch. The staff was so sweet the whole time. The chef John Lister is so nice and extremely talented! He came to the table twice to greet me and the food was absolutely delicious. I got the Ava turkey sandwich and it was so good, hands down my favorite sandwich. For dessert we got the peanut butter cake with the screwball peanut butter whiskey and omg even though we were full he had to finish it, it was that good. The staff at Ava made my birthday so memorable. I would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone.
Christine steen
Very professional host and servers. I tried the grilled octopus, the walnut and apple salad, the oxtail, and the Bolognese. They were all delicious I would definitely eat here again. Also the Italian soda in pomegranate was great too.
Jon O'Connor
Ava is a great Italian spot. I really like thier handmade pastas. The atmosphere is hip and classy in SoHo Tampa. My last visit we sat at the 120 year old tables which was rustic and gave you the feeling of old italy. Their pizza/flatbread is wonderful as well!
Yania Padilla
The service was good but I was highly disappointed in the food. The shrimp scampi was good but the cheese and meat board was underwhelming and not that great. The drinks were good. The veal was absolutely disgusting. The chicken parm at Olive Garden is better and the fish was good but it was served in what I was told would be a couscous pasta and it was literally beans and they were undercooked. 100% not a repeat
Enrique
Great ambiance, loved the pizza and the vegan chicken parm! Will come again! Bayshore breeze drink was very refreshing

I had researched restaurants in Tampa for several days before I decided to book a reservation at Ava on Valentine’s Day. I was a bit surprised/disappointed because when I arrived at the restaurant for our reservation, we were informed that there was a set menu for the evening (which was never posted anywhere in advance) and I would have to pay ~$80 per person. The hostess said they tried calling me, but I never received a call or an email. I am guessing this was just a line they fed everyone who came in for their reservation since she said the exact same to the couple in line behind me. I went ahead and stayed as it would have made our evening more stressful to find a new restaurant that had availability.
The food on the menu really only had one option that worked for someone who doesn’t eat seafood, and had I seen it in advance I likely would not have made a reservation (one of the many downsides to this surprise). The food and drinks were okay, and as another reviewer wrote the water tastes pretty gross. The night ended up being ~$250 thanks to their menu setup and a couple of drinks a piece. A little bit heftier of a bill than I had been expecting.
It will likely be a while before I go back since the experience was mediocre and left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). Atmosphere is nice, but def can’t recommend the margarita.
Darlene Bolton
Love their food. Happy hour is great.
Kimhammett Hammett
Amazing brunch! The food and service were both fantastic and bottomless mimosas too. Looking forward to going back!
Ryan Marth
I went to Ava on a Saturday night with my girlfriend and it was great! The food was excellent and the drinks and deserts were as well. What really made the visit great was our server, Grace. She was so kind and welcoming offering suggestions and recommendations on menu items which I really appreciate. It was so refreshing to have her high level of service and would lead me to come back to this restaurant.
Estelle Farias
I went to brunch with a large group and the accumulated us with our own room! The food was wonderful and the wait staff was wonderful!
Mariya Balabayeva
If you want to have an amazing service experience, ask for Stephanie.
I genuinely had such a great dinner with my friends and she made it even better. Very sweet and attentive. Will be coming back only if I can get her again! And also the pizza ;)
Russell S
We've eaten at Ava many times and it's hit or miss on both the food quality and the service. When the food is done right, it's outstanding. The pizza oven makes outstanding pies, but it has to be in the oven just the right amount of time. Sometimes when we get the pizzas they are soggy in the middle, but other times they are so good we are willing to risk it and come back. Entrees are good, but some of their portions seem to have shrunk in the past year. My wife often gets the apple walnut salad, which is usually a safe choice. This weekend the apples on it were brown and mealy...no chef should have allowed that to leave the kitchen. The staff seems to turn over frequently which might be the reason for hit or miss service. I'm afraid we've had more misses than hits lately, so we'll probably give it some time before we go back.
Stephanie Fitzgerald
Such an amazing experience at Ava for dinner! The drinks were great, the food was incredible...especially the truffle mushroom ravioli and bruschetta. Big thanks to our server Nicole—she was so sweet and attentive!
Horacio Rodriguez
Great Italian food, always a little busy as its in the heart of SOHO. Good place for a family dinner or date night. Priced fairly for the ambiance and location but just a really good Italian joint not a great Italian joint. An A La Vodka dish might change my mind though!?
Kathryn Kuehn
This place was delicious! We drove over from Orlando and had dinner here with a party of six. We ordered the pecan & apple salad, two margherita pizzas, a mushroom pizza, spaghetti & meatballs, and the salmon. The drinks were also very well made. We had a nice table outside; great service. Would definitely return.
Vicky Horvath
Pasta was outstanding! Drinks & dessert delish will be back!

I love Ava for so many reasons.... we go for brunch, happy hour, and sometimes dinner. Brunch is lovely they have bottomless mimosas for $15 and a pizza is about $15 also. Great atmosphere for brunch. Happy hour is good for $5 wine and $5 pizza. We recently found out about the happy hour and started to go. Dinner is delicious a little on the pricy side but the pasta dishes are delicious and they now offer a vegan menu which is fantastic for vegans/ vegetarians. Grace and Whitney are the greatest servers here. Wine list is good and gives you a good range of options. My favorite things personally are the margarita pizza and the mushroom pasta for dinner (without the egg). Very delicious! The bread for some reason is a hit or miss, we’ve had really tasty bread, but then also very stale tasting bread. Overall great restaurant at a great location. And they actually have parking!!!
Lisa Rodill
One of the best Italian pasta and pizza we had a long time. We wish we had one local in Cape Coral for sure. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Tampa. The gluten free crust could had fooled us for regular crust and the homemade gluten free pappardelle noodle were also excellent and so delicious. We highly recommend the funghi pizza, oxtail pasta, and smoking gun cocktail. We loved the atmosphere and music that was playing in the background. Highly recommend this spot.
Melissa Issa
I had a 40th birthday dinner with over 20 women. This restaurant (Donald the manager and ENTIRE staff) took exceptional care of us. We reserved the private room for the event. Donald was awesome! He communicated very well with me before the event. The staff bartenders and servers all took the best care of us while we were there. The food is spectacular! Parking is easy because they have a parking garage right next to the restaurant. We celebrated our son’s birthday at Ava last night and had a wonderful experience! We started with 3 outstanding appetizers: shrimp scampi, mussels and scallops. Every entree that was ordered was excellent. The mozzarella and tomato salad was beautiful. I had the swordfish special and it was definitely special! Delicious from the first bite! Others ordered salmon and chicken parmesan and each raved about their selections. Our service was outstanding as well. Kudos and thanks to chef J.L. Lister. We will definitely return!
William Tamayo
Went here last night with my friends for the first time. Food was good, nothing too special but very overpriced. I got penne pasta with pesto and grilled chicken and ended up paying 25 dollars. The staff are nice, but service was also extremely slow. Prob won’t go back.
Tiffany Clark
I was kind of disappointed overall. and underwhelmed to say the least. The pasta bologanese was mediocre at best. For a $30 plate of pasta I've had better at mom and pop companies.
Camille LiPuma
Food was great. A terrific variety to choose from. . Atmosphere lovely. We were a table of 12. The overall service was good.
Dr. Micheal Burns, MAEd, EdD (Mike Burns)
This place has become a staple for us. They have vegan options that my girlfriend enjoys and I get a great steak every time. The mussels are to die for and I've never seen octopus cooked to such perfection.
Greg Barnes
Excellent food, good atmosphere, and fantastic customer service. Everyone in our party loved the food. I had the shrimp scampi appetizer and the bone in ribeye. Both were melt in your mouth awesomness. Also tried the braised octopus and it was a bit overcooked but the taste was spot on. Definitely a do over.
Blake-Leigh Kibbit
We ate here for a friend's birthday and we loved it! Our waitress, I believe her name was Vanessa or Valerie, was so great. She had such a bubbly and sweet personality. The food was great! Would definitely come back when in town.
Nikki Bowen
We went for the taste of Tampa menu. The meatballs and the steak were really good. The muscles were good but they were huge, some bread would have been nice to go with the delicious sauce. Dessert was great and service was good as well. 👍 …
Greg Dee
The food was amazing. The date and goat cheese salad is perfect. They server suggested adding salmon and she was spot on. Unfortunately they were very busy. I didn't start eating by delicious food this almost 2 hours after sitting down. That's unavoidable. I wouldn't come here again on a weekend evening.
Gabrielle Hekhuis
The place is very comfortable and aesthetic. They have changed dishes for me to make it vegetarian. I've never been disappointed with anything I ordered and neither has my boyfriend who loves the meat dishes. Great cocktails too. The service has always been very kind and helpful.
Mike M
Went for brunch. I got the sausage and pepper omelette. It was okay at best. My daughter had the kid's chocolate chip pancake. It was outstanding. My son got the traditional egg and meat breakfast. It was very good. The sausage links were excellent.
Teri Matalon Turner
Modern decor with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu offers delicious dining choices and new special dishes offered every day so, you'll never get bored with their offerings. Also, they have a brick fire oven for their in house pizzas (delicious!). Their Bar is wonderful and they make exquisite drinks from popular to very unique drinks such as, their smoky cocktails with smoke infused into them right before your eyes....it's quite a show! Ask for "Brittany", she's a great bartender!
Chris Martin
The meat and cheese platter was great, drinks were awesome, and my girlfriend lamb was great as well. I have to be honest about your red sauce though. I got the double play and I thought the sauce was really bland. The eggplant was also very well done. I loved the ombiance and the staff was great, but I'll probably steer away from any dishes with red sauce if I come back.
Salvatore Musumeci
Excellent food! My wife and I went Saturday for the second time. It was even better than the first. The warm ricotta and braised octopus antipasti were awesome. My wife had chicken breast and I had eggplant. Both excellent. We finished the night with zeppole for dessert. Impeccable service by our server Natalie. Can't wait to go back.
Tim Fuentes
Good service, and the food comes quickly. The meatballs were wonderful! I really enjoyed the spaghetti. I'm really looking forward to trying their pizza in the future. There's a parking garage right next to the main entrance.
Vivvy B
The water had a bad taste to it. Ended up having to order drinks, maybe they do that on purpose? Food was good. Service was slow, but they were operating at 100%. The inside dining was at 100%capacity, no distancing. Masks were not enforced.
ana young
We picked this restaurant for a Saturday brunch bridal shower. We couldn't have chosen a better place! We were all very pleased with the private room, wine cellar ambience, scrumptious brunch selections, bottomless mimosas, courteous service (despite a large group) and no frills reservation. Highly recommended for family-friendly group events.
MJ Cascini
I like this place but service is sometimes a little off. It just seems like they don't have enough wait staff but the servers that are there are kind & try there best. Decent cocktails, good for appetizers. The main entrees can be a little small so make sure you get an app. The farmers daughter is a delicious cocktail though!
Samuel Biller
We went last night for a family dinner. We had a reservation for 8p but really didn't need one for a Monday night. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables. The young lady server was attentive and a positive for our experience. As vegans, there aren't a lot of options on the menu. My wife started out with the lentil soup and I started out with a house salad. Both were good. We both ordered a gluten free pasta with vegetables. It was good but not great. The pasta itself was excellent for GF. It was the sauce and vegetables that were just meh. The wine list is okay but overpriced like most restaurants. Kudos to restaurants like Ulele that don't mark up over retail more than a reasonable amount to coverage corkage.
kait miles
If y’all get a chance to come here ask for Hunter best service I’ve ever had shes a gem
Sherrie Cebert
We ordered dinner tonight & it was ready within 20 minutes. We had an amazing dinner at home from one of our favorite restaurants while honoring the social distancing recommendations. Just as delicious as when we dine in. Thank you Ava!
Ray C
Very tasty Italian dishes at fairly reasonableprices. I was disappointed in the "Prime Sirloin" offering but the Maddon Double Play of Eggplant and Chicken Parm bailed the meal out. Casey the server was outstanding.
Jonathan Goodman
My fiancee and I came to Ava for dinner recently after talking about trying it for months. It wasn't a bad experience, per se, but it was disappointing and definitely fell below expectations.
We sat outside, which was fine, but for a nice restaurant they could really stand to do more with the ambiance out there. Very bare bones. When we ordered, we had several questions about one of the pasta dishes, none of which our able was able to answer (though she was very nice and did go find out for us). We decided to split one pizze and one handrolled pasta dish.
The pizze, oddly, was advertised as "best split as an appetizer," but turned out to be a full-sized pizza - not complaining about that! It was good but not the best I've had... crust was a little wetter than it should be even for the style. The sauce and all toppings were great, but the sausage was unreasonably sparse.
The pasta dish was very interesting: a gnocchi in white wine ragu with pulled rabbit and a black pepper creme fraiche. Tasty and well-executed, but not something I'd come back for, and the portion was tiny. Definitely would not have been enough for even one person, but thankfully we were splitting a full pizza. For $26, I would go to one of the other fabulous, equally nice, more reasonably priced options in the area.
We did also have a couple of glasses of wine. I will say the wine list is perfectly paired for their menu, and I would definitely come back for a glass and some appetizers one day. Finally, we had two desserts which were excellent.
So, all around, a mixed bag, but our meal came out to about $100 for what I'd say wasn't worth that. We liked Ava, but there are other places that are equal or better quality and vibe for the same or better value.
Austin T
The pizza was awesome and made a great appetizer (could be a meal too) for four of us! The chicken parm was solid, but the seasonal sweet corn ravioli was out of this world!
Diane Stull
Ok so I usually love to come here but today was off and I don't mean in a good way. They have $5 Happy Hour on pizza and some drinks. I ordered my favorite which is the margherita pizza but it tasted so plain. No flavor and dull. I even tried to nibble on the cheese for help and nothing! I am so disappointed. WHAT HAPPENED??? Even the staff was unattentive. I so wanted to give this place 5 stars. Especially since they have good parking. So sorry Ava please try to do better on the pizza. ;(
Scott Derby
My wife and I dined here this evening for our first time. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. My mom is from northern Italy. So, I appreciated the polenta. Thank you. We'll definitely return.
S MW
OH EM GEE. Fantastic. It’s so good. Everything I had was perfect. The Funghi Pizza and Warm Ricotta are huge portions for happy hour. The bread was so good, the pizza dough was so good. I almost died. I ordered the Salmon secondi dish. It was a perfect combo of warm cold, sweet, sour and umami. The salmon was cooked to perfection. It was crisp on the outside and melted like butter in the inside. I really wanted to order more, but I had to refrain and use good judgment. I’m definitely coming back.
Garrick Gaffigan
The food was really good, but the timing on the service was really off. My entree was delivered about 1 minute after my appetizer. Then I was finished for about 10 minutes before dessert showed up. Then the check took forever. Food was good, so they will get another chance
Ryan Proly
Went in around 5 on a Friday and it was not busy yet. The service was good, the drinks were delicious and the food came out fast, hot, and tasty.
Jim OBrien
Great food and service. Dog friendly outside and takes reservations. Great for casual or a date night. Can get pricey but very good.
Jeffrey Dreyfuss
Everyone in my party really enjoyed everything that they ate. The appetizers were delicious. Try the polenta and the pork belly with a fried egg. Doesn't sound like they should go together but it surely does. The whole restuarant was fun to look around and read the history of the restaurant
John Dsurney
My wife and I have eaten here several times and the food and service have always been great. AJ was our waiter several times in the past and he was excellent. Kashavwaited on us tonight and she was equally spectacular. Services is always pleasant, prompted and efficient. Everyone is very accommodating.
Adriana Hallow
Super impressed with the service! Nicholas was super nice and attentive. Had brunch here and the food was amazing. The Bloody Mary is phenomenal! And omg that breakfast pizza and the cheesy grits: definitely recommend.
Natasha L
Delicious meal! Everything was well cooked and perfecrly seasoned. Will definitely come back again!
Valerie Walters
The best was the bar..drinks great. Due to my experience in a group setting...wait or...took a long time 1 1/2 hr to bring food and had to send scallops back they were burned oily..mussy...tasteless.
Some of group had the lamb which each gave it a 5...I agreed.
Jason Green
Cool place in a great area with good happy and food. The have Newton on the wine menu so my wife was very happy. Wood fired pizza oven is hard to pass on, but get as an app and order an entree.
Penny Fernandez
Every visit is an amazing experience. Executive Chef J.L. Lister and his team are phenomenal. Whether its a date night, brunch with the ladies or a private group event THIS.IS.THE.PLACE. They will not disappoint.
cecil f
My rating changes based on where I sit. The bartenders give great service but I have been seated inside for Sunday brunch and have left after waiting 20 minutes with zero service i.e. no waiter or waitress greeting us and at least taking a drink order. There was no one inside they were not slammed. The employees were standing around talking. The hostess brought us water and apologized for not having a waiter or waitress. Dont go in there if you can not sit at the bar. 5 stars at the bar 0 stars every place else.
Chris Reddaway
I suppose the priciness is about the location, because I wasn't blown away by the food. We had a table of 14 (which the staff handled expertly) and the consensus was it was good not great. But its convenient to exit the restaurant and stumble to the (cheaper) bars down the road...if that's your bag.
Nicholas Feagans
The food was phenomenal. Even the house salad had notable flavors that would bring me back. I enjoyed a pizza and scallops as well. It isn't inexpensive, but I feel that I got exactly what I paid for.
Danielle Poveda
Well I really wanted to go to this restaurant because of Joe Madden. We drove up from Miami for a Yankee game and were really excited to try Ava. The service killed it for me. Our waitress didn't check on us throughout the meal. If you don't mind that type of service then go because the restaurant atmosphere is nice and the food was great.
Daddy
Fantastic SoHo experience and food! The dining was delicious and the service was exceptional on every level. There are many healthy and diet-specific options all made freshly and upon ordering. If you get to visit Ava to enjoy all they have to offer, make sure to ask for Sarah. She is delightful, very helpful, and accurate. Sarah is one of the main reasons why we continue to dine at Ava and enjoy all their food and drinks. (Did I mention that Joe Maddon is one of the owners of Ava and he hangs out there whenever he gets a break from baseball?)
Jane Cisneros
The bartender (I can't remember her name) small bright blonde was SPOT on! Recommended great food and drinks. Bathrooms down to the ladies room and a long line and super drunk patrons. Not the fault of Ava but too much!
Kevin Considine
Great spot! Amazing food, the ribeye was cooked perfectly and the wife and kids loved the swordfish, snapper and marherita pizza. Our server was knowledgeable of the wine list and desert were amazing.
Thomas Lessing
Food was not bad just thought over priced for what you ordered. Paying more for the location area than the food
Seth Wenzel
This place was great. Great service. Great atmosphere. Food was excellent. Pork belly appetizer was off the chain. We had it with mash potatoes instead of lentils. Had the filet and chicken parmesan as well. Desert was killer. Highly recommend for date night.
LaNe NaDeCar
The waitress took forever to come to our table so we had to ask for service, not sure why because the place wasn't full when we got there. Food was ok, not the greatest and a bit pricey, I am assuming because it's in the SOHO area. Drinks were good and the staff was friendly.
Adam Jonas
Great food, fork tender filet mignon. Hard to find a place with great food and great service but they definitely have that here. Will be back again to try new dishes!!
Chris Brenner
Good food, nice atmosphere will come back
David Hoover
I really enjoyed my dinner here with my wife. The food is made from scratch. We had fennel sausage pasta dishes and it was very good. We also had tiramisu. It was the only tiramisu I have ever had out that tastes hommade. It was excellent. I recommend trying Ava.
Gabrielle Post
The best place in town to go to for brunch. The food is great and the service is even better. One of the managers Steven is why we come here when we’re in town. Definitely would recommend for a good time.
Marco Navarra
A nice semi-rustic looking restaurant with a bunch of plaid shirt wearing servers running around. I waited 15 minutes before being my order was taken. However, the host and hostess were served their dinner before mine or the table next to me and they were here before me. The meat and cheese platter was ok with no Italian cheese and not worth $28. The Cacio e Pepe was worth the $17. The flavor was authentic; however, the pasta was a little over cooked. Because Cacio e Pepe is one of my favorite dishes and hard to find, I'll give the place another shot. Someone needs to teach the staff how to serve properly without running around frantically in plaid shirts. No reason for people to wait with the amount of servers scheduled and running around. Ava's goal is an "exceptional & inspired experience;" which did not happen for me, the table next to me and near me. Just lots plaid running around.
BOSS LIONESS
Ambiance. Service. Menu. Delicious. ***** We ordered the Funghi Pizza (cremini & shiitake mushrooms, caramelized onion, mozzarella, parmigiana reggiano, balsamic-YUM) as an appetizer. My 8 year old son loved this...we all did. The Stuffed Pork Chop was incredible! We paired the stuffed pork chop with the wood roasted vegetables, braised octopus & mozzarella + tomatoes.
Colin Brennan (Cbrez)
Absolutely phenomenal! Been here several time with family and friends, wait staff is always friendly and inviting, and don't get me started on the food.... I don't think you could ever have a bad meal here unless you really don't like Italian
Rus Shackleford
Top notch execution of old world ideas. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The meats and cheese tray we shared was superb, especially the 3 year aged prosciutto. I tried the chicken parm and found it to be the best I'd ever had. The chicken hit the sweet spot of appropriate doneness without drying out and. The spaghetti al pomodoro it was served over was perhaps over-generously portioned but quite pleasant. My companions reported similar satisfaction with their dishes, wood grilled fish (mahi) and spinach&dates salad with a cut of salmon added.
Alex Pietropaoli
Nice place for great Italian food. Go at night on Friday or Saturday for a loud clubby kinda vibe. Go during the week and during the day, and it will be quieter, easier to hold conversation and relax.
Ruth Ortiz
We had a birthday party here, we make reservations at 8 and they seat us at 9:30. The reason of the 5 stars is they gave us 2 bottles of wine and the service was great and the food is amazing.
John Faith
I am a big fan of the food and atmosphere but had a very disturbing situation on my last visit. There was no disclosure of nuts in one of the dishes and I have nut allergies. While I had not disclosed the condition on arrival, I'd always found the menu to be clear and thorough (i.e., ingredients disclosed).
Charlie
The branzino and 14oz strip special were awesome!
Jon Silla
This place is alive!!!
Lots of good food!
Fun!
Elizabeth Pavone
Hostess was rude and texting. Good wine, polenta, bread and roasted veggies. Pizza was completely soggy, a big disappointment. Will not order that again. Waitresses need to pull back hair in a pony tail. Don't want hair all over my food.
Matthew Frazier
Came here with my dad over the weekend of the Clemson vs. Alabama game, Truly authentic Italian cuisine and the service was top notch. Thank you for being apart of a memorable experience for me and my dad to enjoy while in town for the Championship Game.
Allie Serrano
This was my first time here. I love it! We ordered a couple of drinks and split an Eggplant & Chicken Parmesan Combo and made new friends by the bar. Well definitely be back.
Joy G
I'm so glad I finally found a real Italian place in Tampa. The atmosphere is casual and modern. The pasta is cooked just right with simple and clean flavors. The pizza is real thin crust, just like I ate in Milano, Italy. The waitress was wonderful and very informative about the menu since it was our first time at Ava. The ribeye was cooked just how I asked it. The muscles are cooked right with the right amount of heat, and the pork belly is a must try. Also, free valet parking. Top notch!
Casey Bauer
Food was good, just had alright service. We were a big party (9) with a reservation, but the server didn't really try to be timely or nice cause with a large party the tip is included.
Samantha DeYoung
The best semi - casual Italian food in south Tampa. Their wood fired stove makes amazing pizza and veggies. Home made pasta and a great ambiance!
Justin Burgess
Good food and reasonable prices for the area but happy hour is only at the bar. The menu give you plenty of choices and the portions are above average. Very friendly and responsive wait staff.
Jon Gosling
Pretty good food and great service today. Had a snafu with the orders when they came out from the kitchen but it was immediately rectified with no questions asked.👍
Janna Rolfe
I found it rather average. The food was ok but nothing special and the service was not very good. I had to keep asking for refill of my water (it is Florida and hot so I drink lots of water). There are other places near here that I liked better.
Catheryn Scheerenberger
Brittany was such a great waitress! She took such great care of us! Literally we had the best time ever!
Amber Gillam
Absolutely lovely service and atmosphere. Everything is made fresh. Ordered mahi mahi with potatoes and kale, delicious. My mom and I had a mango Italian soda vodka, and a black cherry quantro drink which were to die for. Very helpful with allergies, cooked my food accourdingly.
Ken Williams
It's ok.Nothing special.I got the Chicken Parm and it was about the quality of a frozen casserole from the grocery store. It was modern and the view is nice.If you are looking for ambiance over food quality, this is your place
Judy Essick
Mother's Day treat from & with my children. Food was delicious our server was so nice.
Lcat RN
I love the pizza there. Had fish and doughnuts, too. Perfect meal. Very much like Prato in Orlando. Seeing as how I'm an or own transplant and missing my hometown, this is a welcomed addition to my regular restaurant rotation. I want to try the burratta pizza next time!
Zuleyka Mojica-Rodriguez
The food was good. I had the Eggplant Parmigiana and it was delicious. Our server, Nicole, was really nice and attentive. Will recommend.
Kaleb Ryan
The pizza is something your taste buds need to experience. Haven't tasted the pastas. But I'd guess it's on the same level. Beautiful and relaxing environment.
Team Ultimate Exposure William & Bug
Nice location and great atmosphere. Food is not bad but it is just ok, for what you pay for it. Our server was very good and took care of everything we needed
alexie amaro
Great staff, great seating. Menu, waitresses and servers were very good. Drinks are made very well. To get to the point, yes go there!
Julie Shoubaki
The best pasta I’ve ever had! I ordered the Bucatini Alla Vaccinara via Uber Eats. The dish was perfect and a unique flavor that I’ve never had before. I’ll definitely order from Ava again!
Andrea Delisle
First visit, and it was SO good! Drinks Amazing, pasta to die for, and excellent customer service💗 I would absolutely recommend and hope to go back again soon! …
Ashley Hendrickson
Overall, this place was amazing and the food good!! My only complaint - they cut my filet for me and then poured sauce on it. You never cut the filet and serve it - you leave it whole and let it rest. It wasn’t as flavorful as it could have been because of this, and the outside tasted over cooked. Seriously - leave the filet whole!!
Thomas Weis
Brittany the bartender was very friendly and helpful. Definitely helped me choose the blue cheese stuffed olives for my martini. I can't thank her enough!!
David Weylie
Food was really good. Service was great. Only reason didn't give 5 starts was kitchen was slow with the food. Took a while to get our entrees but everything else was very nice.
3BAR Energy Bar
So excited that Ava now has a vegan menu! The vegan sausage pizza was AMAZING!!! I can’t wait to come back much more often now that there is a vegan menu!!!
joyce michele
Sat at the bar for pizza and cocktail. Michelle is personable and friendly and we shall return!
Maria
Food was decent/okay. Kind of overpriced, though. Not many options, but the mimosas were delicious.
J M Lopez
Tomato soup tasted like fish. The fresh pasta was ok as was the sauce. Good servers and ambiance.
Stephen Southerlin
Great place, staff and most importantly the food. I ordered a pizza and salad. Both were amazing and the pasta selection is wonderful!
Toni McDougall
Went there on a very busy night, hostes was overwhelmed with customers but was very nice, pleasant and got us seated quickly. The food was excellent. Cant wait to go again.
Briana Brewer
Threw my girlfriends birthday here and it was amazing! J.L is the best chef. Would recommend 10000/10 thank you so much!
Spiro Telegadis
Great spot and usually not that difficult to get a table. Comfortable bar area and nice ambiance. Food and especially the mushroom pizza and pasta dishes are my favorites.
Nick Moreno
Love the bottomless mimosas, our server Olivia was always there when we needed her and the food was great
Lynn Dowdell
The family and I visited Ava for Father's Day dinner. It was exactly wgat we expected, fabulous! Thank you Blake for being an great server with an awesome smile.
RH
Went for happy hour and ordered their pizzas, tried mine and different varieties from the other people in my group. Unfortunately rather bland however for $6 still a good deal
Laura LoVetere
The food is good but a little pricey for the amount of food you're given. They mainly have Italian dishes there. I had the spaghetti and meatballs while I was there and it was great.
Jason Holic
Delicious lunch spot with fairly quick service and good wait staff. Parking is easy and restaurant has a good vibe and decor. Makes you feel warm even on a cool rainy day.
Ryan Fernandez
Great atmospheres! Amazing food, servers were wonderful, wine rocked! JL. Exec chef really did it up! Will definitely be back many times!
Mark Bechtel
The food was good but the service could have been better. We had to ask for everything and there were long times in between the server checking on us.
Samantha Hatton
Food delicious! Big fan of the while fish, roasted veggies and scallop appetizer. Service is typically good, but not great or fast
Justin West
Have been several times and have yet to be disappointed. The cocktails are wonderful and the pasta dishes are the best you can get in Tampa. Would highly recommend.
Vanessa Arraiz
Amazing bottomless brunch ! Even on Saturday!
Kimberly Hannah Trammell
Salad was delicious and a perfect portion for lunch.
Salvatore Ingrassia Jr
Great homemade Italian food! Everything was good at this place. Great drinks too! Order off there homemade menu and you won't be disappointed .
thuyrrific
Great atmosphere. They have separate rooms for larger parties. Parking was convenient as there was a garage attached. The food was pretty good too.
Scott Hodge
We had the traditional Italian offerings spaghetti and meatballs and eggplant parmasan both were excellent made with housemade pasta, as well as a very good scotch lost.
Rick Brown
Mussels and ink pasta, amazing! Oxtail pasta awesome. Wood fired pizza and great cocktails. We will be back often. Friendly folks.
Mallorie Duff
We booked a private room. The service was great, the food is good. It’s not on the top of my list, but I’ll definitely go back.
Milton
I had the Spinaci pizza. The toppings were very good , several spots on crust were burnt. Server was very helpful and attentive.
jonathan clark
Went to brunch on Sunday. Great atmosphere and great food. Carlos took exceptional care of us! 5 stars all the way!
Teresa Thrasher
Went to lunch with my husband had pizza and now we're going back for dinner. It is amazing. Even if you don't live in Tampa it's worth a trip you won't be disappointed
Tropical Breeze
Spaghetti and meatballs was okay. The sauce was Bland. There was no meat in the sauce. The meatballs were small. It was not seasoned well at all. I just wasted $20.
Thomas Kane
The greatest thing about this place is the staff. Especially Palmer. Amazing food also. Love it! Great date spot for the lady. Very fine atmosphere.
Skyla D'Autorio
Server was great, private room was perfect, and everyone in the group had a fun evening.
Kelsie W
Great food, and good selection for breakfast/brunch but they completely forgot my boyfriend's order and we waited 15 minutes for the waiter to come back to the table to tell them...not so good service.
Pejman Mahmoudi
I have had many pleasant experiences at Ava. the food is delicious and the service is spot on. I gave it 4 stars because the menu is a bit limited.
Michael Simms
Good variety of menu choices. All members of my party were very satisfied with food. Service and atmosphere.
Johnny Tran
Good atmosphere and lighting. The pasta is delicious but the pizzas are way too burnt and detracts from the flavor.
Demetrius Williams
Some food was great some was just okay. Great service and atmosphere. Prices were decent. Will most likely visit again.
Logan Kunkle
Excellent food. Worth the more expensive price. Waitress was great! And again the food was AMAZING
Eric Firefox fee
On holidays they have a limited menu so be aware if you were going for something in particular off the online menu and my portions were pretty small for the price but food was good so was the service
Michele Meinhart
Food and service was wonderful. One pasta meal was dry but was quickly replaced by another within 10mins of complaint. Will return!
Angelique Colon

Gigi Marquardt
Amazing Happy Hour. Chef came to our table and was friendly. Food was delicious.

Great brunch menu, food, service, and atmosphere were all very good. Great Bloody Mary. One of the better brunch spots in town
Bella Luna
Pros:
Beautiful decor and ambiance
grilled bread was delicious
Cab wine was smooth
Service was quick
Great atmosphere with friends
Cons:
Pizza is flavorless
Bonefish Grill has far superior mussles
Tomato soup tastes like a can
Pasta was really dense and flavorless
All three of us will be back for drinks and dessert, after a solid meal elsewhere.
Rick Howell
The food was bland. The drinks were in wrong sryle glasses. The employees were excellent
Steve Cohen
Went there with a few friends last night, food was fantastic, old Fashions hit the spot and our waitress Natalie really made the night with her charm and responsiveness.
William Swartz
I had the salmon and it was much too salty. For the price this place should have better food.
debra olson
Awesome happy hour wines and appetizers to include an 8" pizza that was incredible. La bestia pizza was great and happy hour wine I had with it was perfrpe. Both pizza and wine were only $5 each. Can anyone beat that?
Brett W
Plenty of parking. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Good selection of food, and not terribly priced. Variety of cocktails and beer.
Adam Herbst
Great pizza, skip the line and sit at the bar if you can. Menu is small but everything is good.
Kate Carpenter
The biscuits and gravy are amazing! Nice outdoor dining area which is heated in the "winter".
Johnathan Mitchell
I would just like to say I had the BEST brunch on Saturday, The assistant manager on duty she was SPECTACULAR as well as our server!!
Jeff Reese
Wonderful brunch. I wish our server mentioned the bottomless bloody Mary's and Mimosas as a single was almost as expensive
Abhijeet Chordia
Pizza was okayish. For a woodfired oven pizza, I find it lacked flavor.
Luke O'Neill
Excellent happy hour, the pizzas are fantastic and you can try several before it gets too crowded.
Antonio Hernandez
Great atmosphere, customer service is always on point and the food is always on point. Perfectly seasoned and delicious!
