We were there as a party of 18, and there were two other parties of 10+. That being said, the food was great, service was just okay (server had a bit of an attitude), and the kitchen was super slow. We ordered 10 appetizers, which came out quickly. My mother-in-law ordered her dinner to go, because she was full from the appetizers, and her meal came out boxed and bagged almost immediately! Then the rest of the food took forever. We had a 4:30pm reservation and left around 7:30. My father-in-law said he'd never go back, but I probably will.

Acropolis is a good place to spend your time, and enjoy the food. I always loved the food quality in here. The portion of foods are good enough to feel full. Also, I love that foods come with fries and salad, especially with the cheese on top of them. I highly recommend trying it.

A great find for us and we love it. The food, location, cleanliness, variety and friendly staff make this a favorite. They offer delicious salads and gyros with much more as well as all kinds beverages. They offer out door smoking area for cigars or anything you wish to smoke if you so desire and a beautiful belly dancer on the weekends. Open much later than other places and offer so much more. The prices are excellent too. We got dinner with desert and beverage and found it outstanding. The place is very clean in all aspects. Highly recommend

I had a hankering for authentic Mediterranean food and Acropolis did not disappoint. This place has improved dramatically since our last visit long before the 🦠. I'm not sure if it's the restaurant refresh or updates to the menu or a combination of both. I had the grilled Snapper and quinoa with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal delicious bite by delicious bite.

Friday 3pm. Not busy. Outside seating. Service was awesome. She always had a smile. Spinach dip with cheese Flatbread was delicious and definitely worth a try. Same with the stuffed Mushrooms. Acropolis seafood with rice, I loved it. Great place to have dinner! Don't forget dessert. We got baklava cheesecake. So 😋yum! Food was a bit pricey though.

Solid Greek restaurant that has amazing authentic food options to choose from as well as fantastic service! The Sangria is always 2 for 1. A must try as it is absolutely delicious and made fresh daily! They also offer a bottomless mimosa option for brunch on the weekends.

Went here for the first time for a work holiday dinner and I will be back! Delicious, authentic Mediterranean food and excellent service. The owner came by a couple of times to make sure everything was enjoyable. You don’t see that kind of customer appreciation that much any more. 10/10 would recommend!

Great comfortable date spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Thalya was attentive, knowledgeable and recommended some great drinks. Come by and enjoy hot delicious food, refreshing drinks and excellent ambiance. Higher price, but worth every penny!

Ok. So I hear this place was Under new management, went back and ……. 5 stars ! The mixed grill and the hummus was amazing. All fresh food and service was really good. Plus our server (Ariana) was the best ! Definitely my new weekend spot ! How can I forget the hookah double apple was off the chain !!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Acropolis, a Greek restaurant in my city. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautiful decorations that transported me to the streets of Greece. The food was absolutely delicious! I started off with the spanakopita, a savory spinach and feta pie, which was perfectly flaky and full of flavor. For my main course, I ordered the lamb gyro, which was served with crispy fries and a refreshing cucumber salad. The meat was tender and succulent, and the flavors in the dish were perfectly balanced. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Acropolis and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Greek cuisine. The staff was wonderful and the food was top-notch. I can't wait to go back and try some more of their dishes!

Amazing restaurant!!! All around an amazing restaurant with great food, service, and the hookah is always on point. My favorite chill spot especially outside and I love how they remodeled the outside area. That chocolate cake hits after a great dinner.

One of our new favorite places! TBH this was my first time eating Greek food, and I’m hooked. From the ambiance, to the friendly staff and management, and beautiful flavorful food, this is a winner! We started with the Homemade Appetizer Sampler, followed by the Homemade Mousaka “Yia Yia’s Recipe for my husband, and the Beef Kabob Skewers for me. Fresh, perfectly made food and so yummy! For sides we had house rice, roasted vegetables, and potato salad. Everything we ate was perfection. Can’t wait to visit again!

Acropolis New Tampa has some of my favorite Greek food anywhere in the city. Their pita bread is so good that I often get 2 orders, and my wife and I adore their Athenian chicken salad. I highly recommend it, as my wife and I get to-go salads nearly every Friday for a long time. However, their service and kitchen consistency leaves much to be desired. Now, don't get me wrong, those who are there work hard. Service industry workers are wholly underappreciated. Yet, I routinely wait 15-20 minutes after my takeout order is supposed to be ready. For this most recent visit, I waited 40 minutes for a salad that I was told would only take 10 minutes (it was only 5pm and not busy). The bartender was very busy taking orders over the phone, making drinks, and checking on to-go orders. However, there were numerous servers standing around not offering to help. While I understand that there is probably a division of labor in terms of who is allowed to do what, I think it might need to be reassessed when myself and another customer waited so long. When I was helped by a manager, they were very pleasant. Again, I'm not knocking the people, but I feel the way things run should be reassessed, having worked for 5+ years front of house in a restaurant. The food quality at Acropolis is great, but it is pretty much a gamble as to whether my Athenian chicken salad will have the right ingredients. I have had probably 5 different combinations of the salad - sometimes no pesto, sometimes with pesto; sometimes without pita strips; sometimes without tomatoes; sometimes with green peppers; sometimes without the feta as requested; sometimes a lot of lettuce, other times I've stopped at Publix to get more lettuce on the way home to add to my salad. This most recent visit, I received the butt of a stalk of romaine in my salad (picture attached). As with the second paragraph, I really enjoy the food; it tastes delicious. But, I'm almost always frustrated at the order being slightly incorrect, the wait being much longer than expected for a relatively simple order, and the general inconsistencies. What I would say is that you definitely should try this place if you love Greek food, but be prepared that wait times could be long and the food might need to be fixed.

Not only was she sweet, funny, and attentive- she made sure my experience was perfect and definitely memorable. The new owner David, and the manager Wael stopped by and shared some conversation with me and I must say- this restaurant is sure going places with a team like that.

This place is great! It’s has a wide space for indoor or outdoor seating for different size groups. It’s tasty green food that you should try when you’re in town. We were visiting from Houston and met up with some friends. I was surprised by how many specials they have each day. It was quite tempting. If I was from Florida, I’d for sure be a regular. :)

Absolutely amazing, and highly recommend! I was in town from Atlanta visiting a friend and we decided to come by late on a Saturday night. We received very friendly service, delicious food, and lively atmosphere! They had a DJ and belly dancer entertaining as well. We enjoyed a couple of apps, shared a salad, enjoyed some hookah, and received complimentary baklava for dessert! Will def return and recommend if you are looking for delicious Greek food and a fun atmosphere!

Great service! The cheese flambe was pretty entertaining and the cheese also was delicious :-) and one of my favorite things there. We ordered a couple of beef kebab plates and the steak was cooked as asked, which was medium rare, and it was pretty tasty though I would have liked more salt and pepper. The Gyro Trio was also pretty excellent and the roasted vegetables were crisp and tasted completely fresh. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Visited on a rather busy night, my bartender Scarlet was absolutely amazing! Was extremely polite and attentive while also assisting other members of the staff. Came for a lunch with co-workers today. Food was amazing. Everything came out fresh and very hot. I had not been to this location in quite some time but everything was so good. We came tonight and had an amazing meal! The stuffed mushroom appetizer is to die for...super crispy and perfectly seasoned. The Acropolis salad is massive, so come hungry. I'm late on this review as we had an evening meal in the middle of March 2022. Eating lite after a long travel, we had a Greek salad, octopus appetizer, and calamari. We also had the house sangria being offered at the time. The sangria was most excellent. The Greek salad was very good and with an excellent potato salad scoop included with the most interesting house Greek dressing I'm still trying to duplicate. The calamari was fried to perfection with the squigglies (tentacles) included. The best, was the octopus. Some of the best I have ever had, and a generous portion. (To Chef, I have ruined so much octopus trying to replicate your recipe, can you tell me your secret?!) Merritt was an excellent server with very helpful menu and drink suggestions. This location is a place to visit if you are looking for Greek in the area.

Cant believe I've lived by this hidden gem for this long and not given them a try. Food was amazing. Drinks had way too much ice so they got watered down pretty fast. The outside area is a whole vibe and very comfortable seating. I will definitely be back soon

We weren't greeted or taken to a table after 3-4 minutes of waiting. Waiters passed us and didn't acknowledge us. So my daughter said let's seat ourselves. We did. The manager came and asked us if we've been helped. I told him we weren't greeted so we sat ourselves. He gave us a free dessert and treated us like royalty. Great service and food😊

Do not select Toast Local to order to go from this restaurant. My husband put in a $65 To-Go order through the Toast Local app since it said “Business Preferred” figuring it charged the restaurant less fees. He was given a 40 minute wait time for our food. When we arrived to pick up our order we were informed by the restaurant owner that or order had not been registered in their system since they don’t actually work with Toast Local and the menu we ordered from on the Google Maps listing wasn’t even their menu. He told us that he’d just taken over the restaurant in December of 2022 and that he’d been trying to get Google to take down the Toast Local choice from the business listing to no avail and showed us how to email Toast for a refund while immediately putting a rush order for the food we wanted. We ate dine in and were given a free dessert for our troubles that was absolutely delicious 😋 The entire meal was wonderful, including the waiting staff. We’ve eaten here many times and always enjoyed it but this was the first time since the change of ownership and renovations to the restaurant. Everything is 10x better now!

This place is delicious! I had the gyro platter which came with lamb, beef, pita, tatziki, salad, and french fries. I also had the baklava, but it was $5 for one little piece, so I would not get it again even though it was fantastic. My wife got the chicken gyro platter and she enjoyed her food. The service was a little slow, but I think they were just understaffed today. Will definitely be back.

We've been a fan of Acropolis for years (>15). The best locations (from our perspective) are the Bruce B Downs location and the St Pete location. The BBDowns location is recently under new management. You can tell. Everything is great/better: service is VERY good, food is excellent, hookah is both delivered fast and tended to frequently. If you go there, you'll likely see us ;-).

it's been many years since i've been here. they're in the middle of a huge menu change and change of management/ownership i was told. you can tell. things were a little chaotic and lackadaisical at the same time. 1) sit down in the booths and look up at the lights. needs regular dusting badly. whole place just needs a little more maintenance and cleaning. 2) servers need to write things down. she seemed rushed to get away to type in our order and still got it wrong. It doesn't matter how long you've been doing this, it's more professional to just write it down.

This restaurant is one of my go to restaurants in the area. Normally they aren’t too busy and I’ve never needed a reservation. I love there sampler with hummus, tzatziki, and babaghanoush and normally get their gyro platter. I don’t care for their sangria, but that’s the only negative I can comment on.

I went with a party of 6 and wooooow! EVERYTHING was freaken delicious! I tried from everyone's plate lol the sampler appetizer was so darn good, calamari was on point, and all the entrees were delicious, especially the fish sliders with those fires topped imwith goat cheese 🤤. This place is great l, but not amazing. The food you're paying is a bit overpriced in my opinion, but don't let that stop you from coming the first time. This is a type of restaurant when you want to enjoy quality time with friends and family. The atmosphere is great, but I wouldn't just come here by myself next time just for the food. Visited primary for hookah and had a great time despite only being in for a few beverages and appetizers. Austin was an excellent waiter and did not pressure us at all, yet was very attentive. Pricing for hookas and quality makes this a great place for consideration, especially since multiple can share one rig. Also enjoyed the Greek coffee and saganaki that came with a fiery show! Friendly place and great location (indoor and sub outdoor seating) - will be back!

The tirosalata was the best part of the meal. Salads are large, too large for the plate even, but the dressing is too sweet. Falafel was overcooked and dry. Tzatziki was runny; likely from the shredded cucumber they use. Likely will not be back any time soon.

My go to is the gyro platter, it has a great amount of food and the garlic sauce for the salad has such a great taste. Acropolis is the go to for a nice evening spot. We love coming here for hookah and appetizers. Our favorite and best server by far is Addie(number 1 of course)! She is the most efficient and attentive to our needs and always has a sense of humor. Highly recommend the rose hookah if you’re into that. Thank you Addie for the great service!! Found this place online , needed a late night dinner while arriving into town. The salad and the dressing were awesome. It was difficult to decide which to get salad or fries so I chose both. I was very impressed with the service, our server was a curly haired man and he was wonderful and we got our food pretty quickly. My husband and I had the privilege of meeting the owners and they made sure our experience was top notch, which it was! This will definitely be a regular spot for us and we highly recommend this restaurant!

Good food. Tzatziki was very good as well as hummus. Went on a Sunday around 7pm and service was pretty lackluster. Server apologized. (“new people in kitchen are still learning”) At that point it was just hummus and tzatziki that we had ordered…we said that’s fine, but we may not be able to order dinner because our clock was running down on the babysitter’s time. We were assured that it wouldn’t take forever. It kinda did. Oh well.

Great Gyros! Smaller than most places, but you get multiples instead of just one. The smaller size makes them much easier to eat. The staff is very nice, and very accommodating. If you go, be sure and save room for the Baclava Cheesecake. Truly one of the best desserts ever!!!

Ehh. Not great. Not terrible. Service was okay, but it was the bare minimum. Could have been better since it wasn't packed and our party was pretty easy. No one at the table (of 7) was really satisfied with there meals. But good service is hard to find these days so it could have been a fluke who knows. It was our first time there though, and we probably wouldn't go back unless it was random and we had to meet someone there or something.

New to the Tampa area and this place was so warm and fun. Staff was very nice and had great customer service. Clean facilities and the owners took time to get to know me and my wife. The lamb lollipops are so good, the hookah bar has a great vibe and they have very good cocktails. We’ll definitely be making this a staple date night place.

I gave it the 3 stars because the food was good. I went for a work lunch appointment and it was not busy. The server was absolutely terrible. This may be her 1st server job and if so she needs more training. Shadowing. I really thought I was being punked. But no Ashton. When we were leaving no one said thank you or have a nice day. And yet they were just standing at the bar. I will visit other locations because the menu is fabulous but I will not visit this location again.

Not the same Acropolis that was my absolute favorite restaurant. Went on Saturday night at 8, we had to sit in bar area or outside, because of a private party that didn't start til 11. No belly dancer or dancing waiters, dj or breaking plates. Asked for bread with dip that they used to bring for a small fee, no longer have it. Service messed up our order, did correct it quickly . Food was good and that was it. By the way the server said they do the private party every weekend. I will try the other locations again but won't be back to new Tampa location major let down. Feel like private party is their priority.

They never go wrong with the octopus; get it because it's delicious and the capers with the tomatoes are always so good together. The Kebobs are always good as well. I'd prefer them to be a bit juicier next time and the salmon was a little too charred, but it wasn't bad either. A little improvement would do this place really good. Mediterranean food is my favorite because it's my culture, so it would make me happy to see this place amp up their food. Service is good, a little slow but we didn't mind either.

This was the first time I ordered takeout from this location and compared to the others, this food was the worst. I always order lamb chops rare, so when I get to Ocala they are medium, even reheated...these were well before reheated and the potatoes were shriveled up ends of the potato. I have never had potato salad on a Greek salad but there it was right in the center, and a stray burnt French fry. I will make the further drive to Ybor City or Kennedy from now on

This place has potencial to be a 5 star restaurant! Their problem is how inconsistent they are. Servers are amazing, manager is outstanding, vibe is great, drinks, happy hour is one of the best around the area. But the food could be a hit or miss everytime you go, sometimes is just amazing, sometimes is just bad. Last time we went (we are regulars) food was terrible, my tabooleh was wilted and watery, the hummus was so garlicky (never happened before) it was so unpleasant to eat, my husband had a whole rotten piece of lettuce head in his salad, my daugther’s burger was wet, saggy, raw inside. This has happened before but we keep coming back because we want the restaurant to do good but seriously they need to get things in checked in the kitchen.

We absolutely loved this place. We live in Winter Park (Orl) and wanted something different. The food was great, fresh and authentic. Our server Sam took amazing care of us. He explained everything we didn't know on the menu. He recommended things that was spot on delicious. After our delightful dinner the entertainment was spectacular. I like the food here, the service and the place. My only concern was in my last visit. I ordered a dessert, and there was no description for it. I couldn't figure out the ingredients. After a while, I was so dizzy and I threw up. My night was ruined and I had a very bad night. I discovered from google that this dessert might have cognac while I've never drunk alcohol. So I sent a message asking them about it and I never received an answer. I think you should add a description next to the desserts or at least the waiters should give a hint about it.

We started with the dolmades and the baba ghanouj. Both were delicious but then the rest of the meal was not so great. There were four of us and we all got something different but none of us were very impressed. Not very flavorful. Its not like it was not good, just not great. If the food wasn't delicious, I would give them 1 star. I ordered for pick up and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived 5 mins earlier but ended up waiting almost 1 hour for my order. He was attentive without being overbearing, and was able to fix an order I messed up quickly(I always get the words spinach pie and the flaming cheese mixed up). The music was at a nice low level that made talking easy. Though be careful what you say, our waiter over heard it was ky birthday and we were surprised to a fun dance and napkin shower :) Which of course my toddler loved. We will definitely be back. It's hard to find a place everyone in my family agrees on, and everyone wanted to go back

Went yesterday on March 7th about 630pm. Servers are great, cant ask for better service. The food is very delicious, flavorful, tastebuds were dancing all night. Soup....you have to try. I dibt know the name but its chicken with lemon. Great greek atmosphere, line dancing servers was pretty amazed. Overall, a very good experience and will cone again. Valet parking was a good touch. I hate how loud this place is but for the price of the food and the impeccable service that my party of 30+ just so happened to receive that night makes up for the loudness. I had a great time and I love the dressing they use on the greek salad. Amazing! I got a gyro platter and was very pleased with the size, so much that I tipped extra because a place like this deserved that. I also tried the flaming cheese and calamari, both which were fantastic. I would love to come back.

Yummy in my tummy!!!! Every time we go here the food is delicious!! I usually get the greek salad and the fresh bread that comes out is amazing. My honey likes the chicken gyros and baklava cheesecake. At night it's so much fun, they have live music and they dance, break plates and throw napkins everywhere!

Exceptionally good food and service. I have to shake my head at the few negative reviews on this place. We've eaten at Acropolis several times and have always gotten great service as well as very delicious food. Their menu is vast and varied and we have a while to go before trying all of it, however everything we have tried in the last three visits was great! Portions are generous and well worth the prices for what you get. We'll be back and will bring friends with us to enjoy.

Really surprised how much I loved this. The lemon chicken soup (forgive me for not trying to spell it) was amazing. After a long day and lots of walking at Busch Gardens ended up with enough food that we all had a second meal the next day. Looking forward to coming back here next time we come to town. Paper napkins get thrown around and someone sounds like they are breaking plates in the background. Went with a friend and her kids. We did not have to wait and where seated right away by the hostess. The waitress took our order and the food came out out rather quickly. The lamb chops where cooked perfect I was told. I had the grilled eggplant salad and wished there where a few more slices of eggplant. My friend had the Greek salad and said it was lacking not sure if it was the feta. The portions where of good size. While we where there the waiters and waitresses danced around the dining room , we had the belly dancer which the 11 year old stopped eating his lamb chops to watch much to me laughing and mom unsure of. The 7 and 2 year old also loved the show and when the napkins started to fly with opa be ing yelled out they happily continued at the table doing the same thing. I would go again without a doubt and recommend this place.

This review has been long overdue but here it is. This first time I visited this spot I had a phenomenal experience I really appreciated the authenticity of the restaurant with both the food and ambiance. I truly enjoyed the live entertainment(music/belly dancer and opa). I also enjoyed having greek wine that paired well with my food. Now the icing on the cake was going out on the patio and having some of the best hookah in Tampa... literally... its definitely difficult to find good quality injen it comes to that with a reasonable price. Definitely wanted to return. Now... my second visit was horrible! Nowhere the same experience as the first I was seated and was not acknowledged at all for over 30mins there were two waiters/waitresses working and they even walked past me with out offering anything not even a greeting. Now granted they had large parties so I took that into consideration seeing as though they were clearly overwhelmed. After 35mins I didn't even want anything I got exhausted and left. As I was leaving I spoke to the manager(Jason) and voiced my concern about the unacceptable and poor experience that I had. Jason kindy apologized and told me when I returned he would take care of me for the inconvenience. On my third visit I had an even better experience than the first Jason took care of me as promised the restaurant was fully staffed and my server was phenomenal her name was Tiffany. She was very friendly, very intelligent, knowledgeable about the menu, very professional and pleasant. She even noticed that something was wrong and she resolved the issue within minutes if not seconds. I highly recommend asking for her if you visit. Highly recommend this restaurant! To the owner: Jason is the ideal general manager to have when it comes to customer service! Tiffany should be promoted because there are two types of servers there are those who are talented and have it and there are those who do have it Tiffany definitely has it and she is a great asset to your establishment.

Updated review. Said food would be ready in fifteen to twenty minutes arrived at the twenty minutes mark. Waited an additional twenty minutes. Were not busy by any means. Overall nice staff and when hot good food but ridiculous to double time estimate and deliver cold food. Stuff happens but until they get a handle on their processes it has to be a single star. Update. They called me personally to apologize and address the concerns upping the rating to four stars due to the fast and personal response by Nicole (hope I am spelling that correctly). Like I said stuff happens.

Great food and service. I was surprised by a birthday dance from the servers and another Greek party dance. I had falafel, tabbouleh, hummus, and pita. All very fresh tasting. Nothing better than hot fresh falafel with tahini and Greek salsa. There is also an outside porch with hookah. Highly recommended.

This seems weird. I ordered the meatballs via Uber Eats. Usually when you order something for take-away, it's lackluster compared to eating in. Not at Acropolis. They absolutely kill it. It was incredible! The packaging was great and kept everything very fresh. Not to mention that these meatballs are amazing (and also two portions). I'll be ordering from them again and again. It's a refreshing and mostly healthy change from typical Uber eats options in the area. Yum!

It's a restaurant that transforms into a bar at night. However the place is too small for the amount of people that show causing massive lines as well as wait times. Waiting for a drink can range from 5-20minutes. Nice place to go to, just doesn't have the accomodation for the amount of people.

The meal was great I had Shrimp Mykonos. It was great and you will like it is you like a olive oil based creamy lemon wine scauce. My friends both had the saganaki (it was alright more cognac than cheese, but still good) served with pita which makes it even better. One of my friends also head the spanakopita it looked amazing. The waitress we had was also really nice and attentive. The atmosphere was good, we sat outside and surprisingly there were not that many bugs. The complementary bread is fantastic and my table just kept on getting it (which leads into my next comment). The only thing I didn't like was the wait, it took so long to get our food. Whether that be because it was 8pm, our seating, or whatever. Overall it was a nice experience, and I'd go back with friends.

I had the Greek salad with lightly breaded and pan fried Athenia fish- let me tell you it was mouth watering....and she had the gyro with a side salad which she said was the best she's ever had. You can't go wrong with Acropolis! The gyro platter is delicious and very large. Sometimes my boyfriend and I share a plate. My favorite dish from here is the avgolemono soup (lemon and rice soup). You'll either love it or hate it (some people think it's too lemony), but definitely worth a try. I love this place.

A pretty good Greek food location. They have all the foods you would expect, but I was less than impressed with the actual taste and flavors (personal preference). Service was also a bit slower than I expect for the area, but it tends to vary based on crowds and days. On busy days, there's lots of activities, such as the classic "Opa!" where they throw around napkins, so kids typically enjoy that. Parking is adequate in this plaza, but can fill up quick for the area on busy evenings or weekends. Not a bad place if you're in the mood for it.

I actually passed an Acropolis to get to this location to meet a friend and I will be returning to THIS location for future meals. Everyone has such great vibes!! I've been to this Acropolis location about 5 times, and I really liked our servers every time. They clearly were putting in extra effort to please us, with our special requests, additions and whatnot. The food is high quality each time. You get what you pay for at Acropolis. Acropolis is perfect for family outings, graduations (close to USF), Mother's Day and Father's Day, and just about any other special occasion.
