I've eaten here a few times and each time I left feeling like it was way overpriced for the average quality of the food. On this trip I had the Chilean sea bass which is one of the most expensive on the menu. The fish was good but it was paired on a bed of mostly raw greens which did not pair well with the flavor and texture of the fish. The candied bacon old fashioned was acceptable for the price. The steak bites or Chislic was surprisingly White (see photo).

Once again this is a place my wife chose while traveling. We always like to try something unique and not a chain restaurant. We got a few sideway glances as we walked in. This was sort of an uppity restaurant, and I do not feel as if they thought we belonged. It made me think of the movie “The Cowboy Way”. I almost asked for a popsicle. However, that does not faze my wife and I. We were there for the food. The food was actually pretty good and unique. The staff could have been just a tad friendlier. They were not rude by any means. We are just from the Deep South and like real friendly.

We have been here multiple times on dates and absolutely love the food, the atmosphere, the staff! Everything always seems so well put together. I would highly recommended the Chilean sea bass!

I had a great experience here and the food, drinks, and service was great! We also loved the location at the river-side and getting to see the sculptures and art. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and my partner ordered the smoked florentine ravioli. I LOVED the sea bass and it definitely melts in your mouth. The miso sauce was a really nice touch! My partner, on the other hand, did not enjoy the ravioli because they felt it had too much of a BBQ sauce type flavor which wasn’t appetizing mixed with red sauce and pasta. I agree. Other than this, everything was lovely. They have amazing drinks too.

Great food and a great experience. Showed up on a Friday night without reservations. Place was full inside, but we were able to sit in their outdoor dining area. It was a perfect evening to eat outdoors. It took a little longer to get our food, but our server did a great job. The outdoor dining area overlooks the river area. Sioux Falls has done a great job revitalizing their downtown area. Great food, great atmosphere.

Had an amazing burger and my wife had the grilled pork chop. The chop was very moist and amazing. Generally pork is dry, but this was not. The burger was cooked to perfection and worthy of the burger battle. The sides were amazing and overall a great meal. Would highly recommend. We will eat here again for sure.

We came on a Wednesday night. Called ahead to check about seating. The hostess told us they were very busy but she had one table that had just opened up. We hurried but had 9 people in line in front of us. Some left rather than wait. When we got to the front, We expected they would have no seating. But the hostess had saved the table for us! Food was really good, they had decent gluten free options. The server knew what was gluten free. My glasses all had lipstick marks. And every new glass they brought me also had them. Food was tasty, though my chislic came out cold. But everyone still seemed to like their meals. Also the creme brulee was good but burnt in the center. We just peeled the burnt part off and enjoyed the rest.

I've been meaning to try this place for over a year. Very impressed with the service and quality of food. Even though they were out of scallops, the salmon was a good second choice, the hash is good enough to take home for breakfast the next day. My group also had the seamanship, cooked to perfection and good flavor, and burgers which were worth it! Creme Brule was top 2 I've ever had and light creamy cheesecake.

Yum! Everything here was amazing! My sister had the ceased salad, and I had the tuna sandwich. The tuna was perfectly cooked and the sandwich was so delicious! I'd order the same exact thing next time!

I made this table for them when they opened. It has held up well, and their food is a perfect match. The champagne sorbet palate cleanser is awesome. Try the steak. Well cooked to the right temp.

This restaraunt lives up to its name. Every facet of my experience here was a loving tribute to food and the dining experience. The lighting, the music, the service, the food - THE FOOD... For an appetizer I chose the hawaian pork egg rolls. The pork had a smoky flavor I loved. Then my server, Ben, brought out cherry sorbet and that was a lovely unexpected suprise, something I would probably only get if I was a friend of the family in a lesser establishment. I also had the lamb burger which was full of sophisticated flavors and textures. It was so juicy! this place is a true dining gem. It was all thoughtfully crafted and passionately executed. Everyone was friendly and happy to be here and I'm in love. Can't wait to come back.

I had a great dinner. I got 2 vodkas and club sodas $6.50 each. My dinner was seared ahi but I just like it cooked all the way so I asked them to cook it all the way. It comes on an egg bun. And I had roasted sweet potatoes. There's alot of seasoning on the sweet potatoes. My meal was amazing. At the end the bartender gave me a free little glass with a homemade sorbet and a little champagne in it. It tasted too good to be alcohol! The restaurant overlooks the river but I only had room at the bar. Really nice restaurant. I'd recommend it.

Tasty food; only a few complaints: My drink (Dr. Pepper) was flat and the risotto balls were still a bit cold in the center However, complimentary sorbet + champagne was really nice - especially considering that I don't like alcohol very much

Delicious food! The brined pork chop is fabulous. The egg roll appetizers, awesome. Bacon old fashioned and kiss from a rose were great. I highly recommend this restaurant. Dress is casual. Jenny our waitress was attentive and friendly. If you have an opportunity to dine there don't pass it up.

It was not very busy but it took forever to get seated. The waitress was very friendly. I had been looking forward to trying their black and blue burger for a long time. It did not disappoint but it was not as good as I had hoped it would be. The blue cheese sauce was exceptional, better than I had hoped for. I think I just had built it up in my mind and had unreasonable expectations. I highly recommend it if you go there. The tomato soup was amazing. The water had a fishy taste to it, I don't know if my glass just didn't get cleaned well enough or what happened. I will definitely go back and try something else as there was a lot of stuff that sounded good on the menu.

This is the best place to eat in siouxfalls! My husband and I have been going for years! It’s sad it’s closed on both of our days off but that does not stop us from carving time out. We went on our first date and went right after our wedding. You best be sure if I pop out a kid I’m going straight to the ode from the hospital. It’s so good I’m going to stamp everything major life event with the ode. Try it it’s good.

I'm not going to say it was the best burger I've ever had. But it was really really good. Probably a top 5, because at that point it really comes down to what's an individual likes best on the burger. Great service and it was cooked to perfection.

I give out very few 5 stars but Ode to Food and Drink definitely deserves it. Starting of with well made cocktail (Tito vodka water and lemon, which is easier to mess up than you think), moving onto a mango sorbet to cleanse the pallet. I ordered the Blackened Tuna Sandwich which was perfectly prepared to a medium rare. The fries which to me is the benchmark for a great restaurant were spot on and pre-seasoned, (such a treat to get fries like this.) All in all this restaurant is truly a gem of Sioux Falls and if you haven't been here you truly need to take in this wonderful food and drink.

Coming from a culinary background I have absolutely nothing negative to say about ODE, the food is excellent and all the flavors complement each other perfectly. You can tell that a lot of thought and work has gone into every dish, and every bite. No flavor overpowered the other, tonight I went with the max burger and I couldn't be happier. I also had a few bites of the drunkin tortellini and was very impressed, I think no matter what you order you'll be very happy.

Ode has stepped up their game to serve trendy gourmet meals that should appeal to the foodies! Prices are a little high but this is a special place with top notch service. I went with medium sirloin, mashed red potatoes, and asparagus. Perfecto. The ribeye with lemon shrimp risotto is pictured. ($36). It was overcooked so they prepared a new one, serving a comp salad to occupy his time while I ate then served comp orange dream creme brulee for dessert. Sugar was torched perfectly at the table!

The place is great. I stopped by and have lunch at the bar. They had a good selection of drinks, foods, and desserts. It is right on the river and the have a patio were you can sit outside. I would call ahead and make a reservation if at all possible to ensure you have a table.

The food was fantastic! Service was good. Portions are OK, but the food taste was well worth mentioning a second time. We ordered the sea bass and scallops and shared to try them both. I would visit Sioux Falls again, just to eat there again. They have a nice outdoor area with a nice view of the water way. The inside was nice from what we saw entering and going outside. They also had some live entertainment inside.

It was my first time eating here and it was alright. The prices on the online menu were cheaper than the prices in the restaurant. About $5-$8 cheaper which was misleading and frustrating. However, the location and ambiance was very nice and our servers were on top of things. I love places with nice architecture and nice decor and this place definitely met those standards. The food arrived very fast. It was overall a nice experience. While the food tasted fresh my meal wasn’t worth what I had paid for. I ordered the Florentina Ravioli which cost $28. I was hoping to at least be able to take home left overs, but the serving sizes were not big and the taste of the food wasn’t anything special. Nice place, but I personally don’t think it was worth the money. I would be open to trying it one more time but ordering something different.

People come here for a great atmosphere and ample meal. As far as the meal goes, all overpriced for the quality. The Risotto Balls, of course, are yesterdays leftovers. (restaurant secret, no one makes risotto just to deep fry it!) So....yesterdays Rissotto was better than todays. Do Not get tomorrows Rissotto because, some sort of Roasted tomato, with too much pepper and Balsamico! Ribeye....cooked perfectly (tho grass fed tastes better), but UNDER seasoned. I think they rely on the over flavored risotto to compensate, as the steak is served on top of the bed of pan fried Rissotto (yep). Okay Whiskey selection, top shelf yet not a good variety....(sorry, no food pics)

Food was good. We were seated at 5pm with only a few other people in the restaurant. We sat for 10 minutes before a waitress finally asked if anyone was helping us. There were several waitstaff walking around. Loved the live music!

Nice place, good food, staff were ok, not friendly... made a reservation and called back to add 2 people. Spoke for several minutes to the lady. We arrived to find the table for 5, not 6. She seemed a bit put out, as they had to rearrange a bit. Left us hanging in the middle of the floor... unsure what to do. Waiter was ok. Not friendly, not rude. Ordered happy hour margaritas, he gave us the 11 dollar ones, which were excellent but not what we ordered. He did make a price adjustment but didn't seem happy about it. Nice view and building, great food! The bruschetta app was great, corn chowder scallops and crepes , burgers all excellent. The palate cleanser between courses a pleasant surprise. Very yummy. Small scoop of lemon ice/ sorbet in a tiny flute of champagne. Loved it but need friendlier staff.

When I look at restaurants, I look at the treatment by staff, the food, and how timely the service is. In reading other reviews, I see some people have found this sub-par, but that has not been the case with my husband and I. Every time we get food from here, they go above and beyond to assist. One time I had bacon forgotten on a sandwich and when I called to simply make sure I was not charged for it, they were extremely apologetic and even offered to remake the sandwich if I had needed. There are times when lunch had ended, but they were willing to help give a lunch item during dinner hours. When we pick up, they have been right on time with the food, and in previous years when we dined in, they were always attentive. Although some items we have had at times were not our favorites that they offer, it was never because of the quality. It simply just was not our flavor. With that said, they have a variety of excellent options throughout the day, and always new items to try. I am glad this restaurant is an option in Sioux Falls.

Excellence from start to finish. This was our one big splurge of the trip, and I'm glad we chose this place for it. Our server was outstanding, and we really got a five-star experience. I got tortellini that was worth every penny. The burger our 5yo son had was deemed "the best burger in the entire world." And he wasn't wrong.

This is not an easy place to find. It's inside a building and there are no exterior signs. Enter under the glass atrium. Food was good. Drinks were ok. I had the margarita and it wasn't balanced between liquor and flavor. There was too much of a liquor flavor. The hummus appetizer was great. The hummus was super smooth. I had the goat cheese salad with cranberry and cashew. The dressing was a vinegiarette that had goat cheese in it. It wasn't my favorite. I would have liked a fruity vinegiarette. Waiter was also just ok.

Visited Ode with a group of 14. Reservation was a must. Drinks were fair priced. Entrées were high priced and had small portions. Burgers with a side was standard to above standard portion size. The quality of food was great. Everyone had good things to say about their meal other than the portion size. All the guys in our group were still hungry when we left. There was soft live music that was playing which was really cool! The restaurant is in a nice part of town near the river.

We had a wonderful dinner here. The Thai chicken lettuce wrap was absolutely fantastic and was enough for a meal even though it's on the appetizer menu. Great burgers and sides as well . Service was fantastic and had a great atmosphere. We ate outside and had a perfect view of the arc of dreams. I would love to visit again soon

This might be the best restaurant in Sioux Falls. We’ve been here a couple times, but tonight my ribeye was outstanding!! I always love the chef’s risotto, too. The atmosphere and service is always top notch. This place makes a great date night, but I also love them for lunch!

This place is exactly what I like! So... we ate at the bar. First, the staff... Jeremy and Garrison worked as a team, professional, courteous and personable. They were busy and yet found the time and energy to be kind. Second, the live music. I love that it was in the background. Not intrusive, just lovely! The guy was good! Getting down to it, food and drinks... we ordered off the app and sides menu. We ordered the gluten free Chislic. The beef quality was great, tender... so good. The dipping sauces... I loved the avocado aoli best. We ordered the half n half bruschetta... yum! Also, the Thai chicken lettuce cups. So good! Everything was thoughtfully conceived and oh so tasty. Well done! Drinks! Try their Bacon Old Fashioned... very tasty. We watched the bartenders prepare many specialty drinks and I am gonna try some next visit! We'll be in town a couple more days and we're working our schedule so we can come back and order off the entre menu, cause it has lots of promise!

So this is the 1st restaurant I tried on the 1st day of being in SF & it set an amazing tone! Cody was so pleasant & friendly… superb service w/ a smile! This place is located right downtown and is overlooking the River w/ a great backdrop for sunset. I tried a local fav… chislic, which is basically deep fried steak bites.. google it! Very delish!

The food here is amazing. I have never been disappointed with something I have ordered. The flavors are wonderful and the presentation is great. The little bit of sorbet they bring before the entree is such a nice touch, as well. This is where I bring out of town guests when I want to show them the Sioux Falls food scene.

The food's okay. For a place highlighting the chef and at this price point, I honestly expected more quality. The view is great. I don't see any way to reply to the owner's question other than to edit the original review, so the following was added after seeing their question and reading some of the other reviews. I don't know what happened that night, but based on the other reviews it must not be typical. Actually, something must have been very wrong that day. We waited a very long time for bruschettas after being told the cracklins were not available, had an apple pie-tini with no evidence of any nutmeg, the ribeye was on top of a risotto gone pasty, and the broccoli was mostly stem, to the point that my wife at first thought it was the asparagus she had wanted replaced with broccoli. While I might be prone to think the chef was absent that night, that wouldn't explain the relatively basic selections of the menu. The drinks were creatively named, so that was fun. And duck is not on most local menus, but the rest is easily found around town. I can only base my review on our experience and was disappointed. I hope for the sake of our little economy that it was a fluke.

Lovely restaurant downtown. We arrived just after six and were able to sit immediately at a high top in the bar area. We were greeted promptly and the host brought waters right away. Our server was the bartender who had lots of people at the bar in addition to us but managed to make us feel like we were one of her only parties and was always attentive and prompt with refills. Our party ordered a side of sweet potato chips to munch on while we waited for our food and they were absolutely delightful and large enough to share. For dinner we had the scallops, max burger, and the pork chop. There is not a single thing to say against the food - to say each of our dishes was perfect does not do it justice. For dessert we ordered the toffee creme brulee and the banana habanero ice cream. The creme brulee was excellent and the ice cream was delicious, although it ended up being a little too hot for me but I am pretty pathetic when it comes to heat and the rest of the table was fine. We will absolutely be returning for some of the best food in town!

My daughter and I ate here for a girls night out. Our experience was awesome. The food was to die for! Best I have had in a very long time! We both ordered a different entree and split them( ribeye and pasta dish) Both were delicious! The atmosphere was very relaxing and our waitress was wonderful!! My daughter enjoyed her drink recommended by our waitress and my wine was wonderful. At the end we shared the Creme Brule which was delicious! The live music was definitely a plus. Atmosphere was wonderful! We both enjoyed our evening very much! I wish I could remember our waitresses name. She was awesome!!! I am looking forward to returning with my husband.

My husband and I ate there for the first time tonight and it was so lovely! The tables were social distanced and the servers wore masks. The sea bass that I had was impecable - cooked perfectly with an amazing miso sauce. My husband had the shrimp tortellini which was also cooked perfectly but a little rich for his liking. We had the chocolate cake and creme brulee for dessert and it was also worth returning for. Our server was awesome. Didn't catch her name but I bet she refilled my water half a dozen times by the time the dinner was through! Very attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.

The presentation and look of the food was top notch. Their fried sweet potatoes were fresh and wowed me, especially when dipping them in their lemon vinaigrette sauce. The other food I had, pork belly egg drop soup and a salmon sandwich, were good, but as a one time food to experience. I also tried a mango smoothie and a carrot-orange smoothie. They were more so like slushies, with the carrot orange having little to no flavor, but the mango was alright. A gripe I have is there were some mistakes. I initially received the wrong smoothie, and another person in my party did not get sauces that she had ordered and had to wait 10 minutes before receiving it. Overall, the presentation will help mask any mistakes that the restaurant has. But I would recommend going here as a one time experience

Been here many times now with my partner. Me and her love this place for date nights. It would be easy to take their location, view of the river, and awesome internal aesthetics and only use those to bring in customers. But no, they constantly surprise us with their menu's and everytime they change something I get worried but quickly realize the genius of their changes. I've never had an issue with the wait staff either, they're always so welcoming. You can tell this is a place that has the perfect formula for a successful restuarant and will always leave you satisfied.

We ordered takeout and were very happy with our meal. The restaurant has a nice interior and a large patio overlooking the river. Unfortunately it was chilly and windy, so we took ours to go. Menu has great options and they also have a keto menu. We enjoyed our meal, which had very fresh ingredients. thanks

Overall great experience. Appetizer and burger were really tasty and well done. They even threw it a palette cleanser after the appetizer on the house. The environment is nice and modern. The biggest downside we had was that the noise level made it hard to talk across the table at times. Overall it was a good experience. A little pricey, but still good.

When I saw scallops on the menu I knew what to order! Sioux Falls doesn't have many restaurants that offer scallops. So these were very large sea scallops, tender and so delicious! I can't recall what kind of sauce was over the scallops but it was amazing and complimented them without overpowering their succulent flavor. Also on my dinner plate were two delicate crepes wrapped around thin meat and cheese and some asparagus spears cooked to perfection. My husband and I were thrilled with our dinners and were anxious to try dessert with some coffee. Vanilla creme brulee did not disappoint! What a lovely treat. I had a white chocolate latte from the coffee bar which was perfectly flavored and smooth and frothy. Can't wait to go back!

During happy hour, we ordered margarita, Thai lettuce wrap, and smoked salmon flatbread. Happy hour is a great deal and highly recommend. They have extended happy hour on Thursday night. We returned for dinner and ordered the seared duck and scallops and both dishes were delicious.

Found this place after looking up reviews for bloody Mary's. I was in Sioux falls for part's and thought I would stop for lunch. Definitely felt a little underdressed in cut off Shorts and a t-shirt. The food and service was excellent. Price is what you would expect. 4 Star just because it's a little too yuppie for me. They share the building with a bank and you will see lots of suits. I would save this place too take the old lady out on a date. Not a place I would go hang out at for drinks.

This place is great. The food is absolutely excellent, and the service is top notch. Mike definitely makes sure everyone feels taken care of. The beer selection is pretty solid as well. Their cocktail list has some cool entries, and they have a fairly extensive wine list. Definitely check it out.

I forgot our servers name but he was very nice and checked on us just enough, he was busy but always had a smile on his face and acted like we were the only people there. We were in Sioux Falls for a night and made a dinner reservation at Ode To Food. I ordered the sirloin and my spouse ordered the sea bass. My sirloin was very good, but the sea bass was fantastic. The meal is expensive if you add soup and salad. We had a cup of soup with our meal and it was more than enough food. We will be back.

My hubby and I both had the 12 oz. Ribeye special and were BLOWN AWAY, it was that good. From the steak itself to the red wine saice, creamy risotto to the butter on top. We left with happy, full bellies. Would recommend going again. Our 1-year-old was with us, and they were very accommodating with a high chair and offered to seat us at a booth rather than a table in the middle of the floor (which can be difficult and bulky with a car seat in tow). Would HIGHLY recommend if you want some good, warm, modern atmosphere.

The service was excellent, very nice and polite staff. I really enjoyed the majority of the food. I ordered the duck, les trois cannard, and had a bowl of soupy duck at the end. The duck was tasty, but the soupy sauce was just a little off putting. The ribeye was tasty, but a little tough for my preferences; that being said, my wife thought it was quite good. The ice cream was fantastic, I really enjoyed the banana habanero ice cream. The Americano is also very good. I definitely recommend trying this place. Solid 9/10

My BF and I had a date night. I was able to call Thursday, and make a reservation. We were sat within 5 minutes arriving (we accepted to wait for a boot). we tried the Hawaiian pork spring rolls, which were not heavily fried, and nice and hot. We then had the scallops which were amazing. Perfectly cooked, nice and salty which a amazing tart relish to balance it out. For dessert I had the chocolate cake, which was perfect. Usually chocolate cake is far too sweet, this was mild and perfect. My BF had the cachew ice cream and it was amazing. My boyfriend had the Bacon old fashioned and they allowed him to change it from makers mark to a preferred bourbon which they never did an up charge. I enjoyed a Tarimisu martini, and it was dessert in a glass. We will for sure go again. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Amazing food and the server was very tentive. I am a foodie and I love eating and trying new things. Ive eaten at 5 star restaurants and the food quality is definitely 5 star quality. Great place to go for a change or a special evening.
