Reviews of The Shambles
Wei-ju Wu
This is one of our favorite places. Their menu is small, but everything is high quality.
A good variety of beer, cocktails and wine, and great food. They have mostly meat dishes, so if you are vegan or vegetarian the options are a bit limited. Our favorite is the foraged mushrooms, very tasty, the beef croquettes are great, too. But when you get there, the selection might be different, it seems they change menu items from time to time.
Always check the blackboard, you can see which steaks and other dishes are available that are not on the menu.
Did I mention they have a Happy Hour, too. Check them out, I should point out parking can get a bit challenging since their parking spots are limited, so you might have to park a block away or so.

The Shambles is one of those few places I really love rather than just like. The first time you have steak here it feels like you've been let in on a delightful secret.
The steaks are incredible. The other dishes are fantastic. The quality is pretty much fine dining. The atmosphere and service are relaxed and effortless.
I have no remarks, every time I visit I'm more impressed than the time before.
Christi Balaki
Great place to get a well cooked steak and delicious sides such as the mushroom side I got. The steak was perfectly cooked, and tasted great as well. The one compliant I had about the steak is that it is really expensive, and am unsure if it's worth that amount of money. While the steak was tasty, it's not the best I've had and I do not think it's worth the price. The mushrooms are tasty, well seasoned, and unique. I'd recommend this place to try!

The Shambles deserves all the awards! there food is exceptional, as is the team who works there! I’ve tried a lot of Steak Tartare and strongly believe this is the best Steak Tartare in seattle.
Recommend getting there early if you can so you can get your preferred cut of steak (we got there around 7:30 and didn’t get our preferred cuts but the steaks we got were incredible! charcuterie plate was incredible too. i wasn’t a huge fan of our cocktails (though they were certainly unique) but wine / beer selection was amazing! overall incredible experience
Tristan Riddell
Zero frills bar and steakhouse with strong drinks and high quality cuts of meat prepared masterfully. One of the best steaks I’ve had in Seattle. Quality accompanying sides.
Andrew Lonzo
Best steaks in Seattle, perfectly aged, amazing flavor, melts in your moth with tenderness. Mushroom dish was a blend of mushrooms where each unique flavor popped in your mouth. House pretzels were the best I have ever had. The house sourkraut was the only disappointing part of any dish, it was OK but with everything else being perfect my expectations were high.
Zachary Hunter
Charcuterie for two was delicious and filling. Great cocktails and good beer selection as well. The restaurant felt like a great value for the experience we had.
Joshua Hockett
Great rotating menu of cocktails, excellent selection of beers and the meat. This place has amazing selections of meat with a daily list of cuts on the chalk board. Also get the kale salad.
Steven Stiles
This place was great all around. Steaks were excellent! All the sides were excellent! We also got the various pickled things selection, great again. Got there at 5, (I recommend getting there early if you want a particular cut). There's a board with the number of cuts they have available. We had fun "betting" on which ones will go first. Went on a Saturday, weekdays might be different, but give yourself, and them, some time. Worth the wait!

Getting here was tricky, between directions which took me down an alleyway and parking which ended up being several blocks away but that was totally worth it. They had a great selection of beer and a good set of unique drinks. All of the dishes we ordered were spectacular, started with the steak croquettes then moved to the main meal of steak, foraged mushrooms and potatoes. The steak menu is written on a chalkboard and changes throughout the evening to what is still available. The staff we're super helpful and checked in often. Was one of the best steaks I've ever had, so buttery I cut it with a fork and the sauce paired with it was incredible. Will definitely make this a regular stop when back in the area.
Brendan Clement
Ate here yesterday with 4 friends. We ordered a filet and two top sirloins.
Steak was fantastic, mushrooms paired well and I was a huge fan of the potatoes and pepper sides.
Great beer selection on tap - service was excellent (and they were clearly short on staff)
This may be our new local hang-out spot.
Laura Thriftwood
This might be my favorite place in Seattle. The quality of the food is incredible, the sides are given as much love as the steaks (omg the mushrooms). The beef tartare is a must-have, best I've ever tasted. The service is great, drinks are fantastic, and the atmosphere is excellent.
eiko fujikawa
A good food and good hospitality.
We went there for a lunch. A beautiful presentation, great taste and friendly service.
Other day I ordered special cut for pork belly, their butcher is very helpful. I searched this special cut for a few other local butcher shops in Seattle. Other shops responded "no, we don't do that one."
The Shambles responded my request quickly, they asked what is for and they helped preparing the pork belly so that I just seasoned it and I was able to cook without hassles.
I wold love to go back for dinning in again for other menu I haven't tried yet.
Lil Olin
This place has been on my list for a while, and I was not disappointed. Everything was good quality and had extremely unique flavor combinations. I could really taste the effort and care that went into making each dish. I even watched them clip fresh herbs to go on my salad from the garden out back. Good food paired with the great service, I will be back again. The heirloom tomato salad and smoked Italian beef sandwich were amazing.
Tyler Goslin
Edit: Changing to 4 stars based on the prompt and professional response from the owner. While I don’t know yet if I’ll be back, I’m hopeful that future guests won’t have the same experience.
Plain and simple, the worst dining and customer service experience I’ve ever had. Humiliating to say the least….
This restaurant needs some training on customer service 101.
I will say thank you to the new kitchen manager for at least making me feel heard, and taking my concerns seriously. We’ll see what comes of that..
Nolan Miller
Excellent food, easily the best charcuterie board in Seattle. Casual atmosphere with elevated fare. Most things are a la carte so it feels like a choose your own adventure with no wrong choices.
RepFashion LuxBoy
Great neighborhood place to eat so far! The service was amazing, we tried 2 of the most delicious sandwiches ever. The Mole rubbed tri-tip sandwich with pickled peppers was just outstanding and their Italian beef sandwich with poblano peppers was so rich in flavor. Had an amazing experience and the staff was so exceptional.
P.s. if you like ham hocks this is the place to find them!! 💯DELICIOUS‼️
Valentina Noto
Great food! Shared a bunch of plates with friends and everything was delicious. A bit pricy but not overpriced. Staff was friendly and helpful too.
momo
The Shambles was on my list of places to try out this year. We came here on a weekday and the place was busy after 1:00 PM. Although the service was a bit slow, I did recognize they only had 2 people on staff. They gave us some really great recommendations and were very personable.
Everything on the menu is made in house, which makes it all the reason to come and support establishments like these. They ran out of Brie that day so I wasn't able to try their Ham & Brie.
We ordered the following:
- Meat Board Serving Size 1 with Cheese
- Smoked Foie Gras Butter
- Dry Aged Pork Chop
- Wagyu Bavette
- Hot Corned Reuben Beef
The Meat Board the waiter recommended was plenty for 3 of us. In fact, you won't need another small plate. The Daikon was pickled perfectly and the meats were so fresh and savory. The Foie Gras Butter was my favorite. There was not enough bread to finish it off, but I paired it with my Pork Chop. The Pork Chop was served cold, but it was still moist and flavorful. It was also very tender and easy to chew. The Wagyu Bavette was served medium and had such robust flavors, one would wish they had a glass of wine to pair it with. Overall, amazing food and I will return to try other items on the menu.
Things to remember, they do not take reservations here and there is a service charge.
Eamonn Monaghan
What a great combination of passion for food, drink, and hospitality. These folks take their craft seriously, but deliver it with casual charm. This time I had the BBQ duck sandwich, and I'm already dreaming of my next visit.
Phecda Louie
Love that they make nearly every thing in house. Having an in house butcher really makes them special. This is truly a hidden gem of maple leaf and Seattle.
Love that I was able to pick up down pig ears as treats for my puppy at home too.
Will definitely come back :)
Ian Hogan
Went with some friends to this new place last night. They have a huge and amazing beer selection and also a nice cocktail list from what I saw. But the food was the best, we had the cured meat and cheese plate which had a ton of in house cured meats, the duck was incredible. I also had the bavette steak with a chimichurri sauce, the steak was incredible and the best thing I have had in awhile super tender and flavorful. I will definitely be back for a beer and a bite.
Renee Gittins
Absolutely wonderful in every regard. Every dish was a delight, even the charcuterie I am usually not a fan of. They bring the best out in every meat, side, and dish, perfectly balancing complex flavors. Even the richest items were balanced out with zesty items that kept them from feeling too heavy.
The restaurant was clean with a rustic vibe, and the waitstaff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Definitely a new top restaurant for me!
Dennis “burrito678” swroptr
I love this place, I took my dad who was in town from vegas because I heard how good the steak was, and we serious were not disappointed. There 45 day dry aged steak was so amazing, but I would have too say anyone can dry age a steak but can you cure a meat. This place doesnt disappoint, their cured meats are out of thus world,
Richard Dizon
I was blown away by this place. If you enjoy getting to intimately know a menu, The Shambles is a perfect place to embark upon next. Everything I've had so far the menu has been excellent and I look forward to my next few trips to try out more dishes and drinks. This is one of the few places that will take me away from my usual haunts around Seattle since it's a bit farther off the beaten path but the trip every time has been oh so worth it.
Alex Heaton
The food and beer selection are really good. The food was my favorite if had at any restaurant in the past year at least. Oh yeah, I don't even eat meat. The veggie selection is better than most too.
Kim LocalFi
This place was a super cool hangout with fresh delicious meats and cheeses. You should come prepared to try something unique and tasty and just go in with an open mind! This food is like art! The staff is also super chill, attentive, and know how to have fun and be professional too!
Caleb Wetherell
Fantastic! One of the best in Seattle, it's on Eater 38 for a reason.
Talking with the owner, it's clear he takes pride in the restaurant, wants you to have a good time, and is really proud of their food. He's the tall guy filling up your water, tell him what you think!
We ordered a big variety and everything was delicious, so instead of reviewing everything I'll just encourage you to try everything on the menu - it's probably great.
Of note, though, were the Bavette steak and the steak tartare with a cured egg yolk (duck?). It was an incredible meal.
The drink selection was pretty good as well, the two cocktails I had were tasty. Come here for the food, enjoy the drinks, but don't come here looking for the best cocktails in Seattle. The food shines.
Jacob Franks
This place is definitely a wonderful busy little neighborhood specialty restaurant, great service, great food. Joel and Amanda at the bar are excellent, whoever cooked my brunch is fantastic, huge strips of semi-crispy bacon, two eggs over easy with crushed potatoes, green mild salsa, thick salt and pepper. Kudos
Jenny Chiang
Shambles is AMAZING. Not only do they have sweet, funny servers, but they also have scrumptious food. The charcuterie, beef tartare, duck cassoulet, raspberry beer were huge dinner hits and their desserts were stellar. People who dine here are so at ease that they'll converse with strangers. We'll definitely be coming back soon. Thank you for such an amazing and joyful experience!!!
MOHAMMED BUKAR
The food is freaking amazing here and the service is some of the best. They have an awesome menu selection and the service are really friendly.
M. L.
Came here before 5pm on Saturday! It was steady but once it hit 5pm and the menu changed it is packed beyond packed! The food was excellent! The beer was great. If your in the area definately worth the stop.
Sara W
This place is so great! Fantastic steaks. Friendly, knowledgeable servers. A unique, relaxed and classy dining environment.
Shay
Really enjoyed my ribeye steak and loved the foraged mushrooms. Service was great too! I will definitely return.
Eli Atticus Jager
Very good food.
Something of a strange atmosphere, but everyone is very friendly and positive, which is good since they are definitely still figuring out their flow.
Once things are a little more polished this place will be a treasure of the maple leaf neighborhood.
Stephani Nelson
One of the best charcuterie plates I've ever had! It's no wonder, considering they cure their own meat in shop. They also have a great beer selection and really awesome cocktails. Excited to go back for an actual meal!
Becca G.
The owners are wonderful people who truly care about the quality of food they are serving.
They have premium quality meats and a great drink selection. All of the side dishes are fantastic. And you truly can’t beat the service anywhere.
Vanessa Hake
We had a delicious lunch with a friend. The smashed potatoes are a must have! It was inviting, comfortable, and a very enjoyable experience. They name the tables and we sat at 'Norma'. Brian was an excellent server (attentive without being intrusive)! Thank you!
Daniel H.
Great beer selection! Good cocktails. Very well curated bar. The overall ambience is enjoyable and comfortable. Homemade beef jerky is just the right amount of spice - fairly delicious as well.
Andy Bravo
Heavenly steak in carnivore's paradise featuring cuts butchered in-house; limited quantities and a rotating menu make it all the more enticing while also championing a no-waste approach
Manny Lata
Cool joint, great cocktails, vast draught beer selection, and tasty dishes! Laid back with serious food and drinks cred.
william hicks
Have to say Bravo to staff especially!!! My Mother has a blue cheese allergy our plate came out with blue cheese not separate. Finally a staff and kitchen that cares about what they do. Also my Mother is in neck brace one of the Bartender walked up to my Mother and said been there Awesome place
Forrest Wedmore
This place does it right! The tap and cocktail selection is excellent and the food all time! We came through with a group of 6 and they were very accommodating. The staff is friendly and genuine and the vibe is relaxing and casual. We’ll be back for sure and I’d recommend it to anyone!
Peter Smith
Thanks to Robb the bartender / server / host fer a most excellent evening. My wife and I had a most wonderful experience!! My simple mechanic mind can't come up with the words fer how good the tastes are, your just have to take my word for it and give, The Shambles a try, you won't likely be disappointed.
Cheers

Joel’s restaurant called “The Shambles” is next-level butcher, restaurant, and neighborhood bar. I will definitely be bringing friends, family, and anybody else who appreciates a delectable artisan experience.
Krista
Great creative menu, plus everything was perfectly executed. We started with the pork croquettes (thick crunchy breading, pulled pork filling, nice sauces), which were delicious. Bread with butter was nice but nothing special. Sides are not included, we chose the shishito peppers (perfectly fried, not breaded). The halibut in coconut broth was nice. The teres major steak was the real star, sous vide & seared, with a perfectly spiced oil & compound butter! For dessert, there was a grapefruit sorbet was a little bitter & authentic to taste of a pink grapefruit, well-balanced with the toasted meringue & graham cracker crust & dark chocolate bark. All together it was a very special smores variant!
Overall pricey but appropriate, excellently executed, small menu, super tasty. We'll definitely be back.
Jeremy Carroll
Fantastic beer. Great staff and even better food. Must try when visiting Seattle.
Keith Woeltje
Fantastic steaks in interesting cut you don't see other places. Terrific service. Good selection of local craft beers as well as wine and cocktails.
Jessi Thompson
Vegetarian here. Awesome selections for non meat eaters, well-balanced food with good flavors. They also do a slight discount if you order 3 sides so if you aren't in the mood for any of their (really great) salads you can always get some sides. I'll definitely be coming back. Also looks like a great place to bring guests, lots of small plates options and something everyone will like.
Alan Luan
What a sweet neighborhood butcher and steakhouse! Great cuts of meat, cocktail menu is solid, and the service is always on point. Steak tartare, ribeye, crushed potatoes are always favorites. Nice casual vibe while also serving some of the best cuts of meat in the city.
Jason Cox
Fantastic staff and atmosphere. Food was excellent!!! Small venue but definitely worth a visit. Will be back again!
Didier A.
Awesome neighborhood joint. A mix between a nice Irish pub, a steak house, a cocktail bar and a butcher. I just love it. The staff is super friendly, and the food is awesome. You really need to buy their fresh bread as well, their baggets are in my opinion better than SeaWolf's, and the best I've had in Seattle.
Tessa Fishkin
i picked this place arbitrarily because i was craving steak and holy sheet. insane. i got one of the cheapest ones (10oz hanger, well-done) and im pretty sure i died because it was so good.
like seriously i have sensory issues and i hate eating but this was GOOD. i liked eating this steak it was ridiculous how good it was. please go here and have steak you will lose your mind.
the bread and butter also slapped. they call it the shambles because im literally in shambles over the steak. get outta town oh my god
Maria McManus
Their meat case is great, all of the steaks I’ve had and cooked at home have been delicious and tender. Their menu is super diverse and changes constantly so I’m always looking forward to what they’ll have next. The sausage sandwich is perfect. Their bartenders are very knowledgeable though the drinks are a little too complex for my taste.
Sean Ottey
Always fun, always amazing brunch food, huge number of taps and great drinks. But the best is the staff. All friendly, fun and kind. Our favorite brunch place.
Kelly Jane Heindel
Seems like a cool spot, service was a little cold we were going to order more than just an charcuterie board and a couple drinks but just didn't seem to work out .Built in 15% service charge on bill. Didn't get a chance to try other food ,we just didn't get the service to want to stay there much longer honestly...... everyone has a bad day. I'll try it again. But if I'm going to spend $50 +on a steak without sides I want to feel like you want me there.
Jordan Hays
Fantastic bar and food! The bartenders are true artists, and great to chat with, and will make drinks for you on the spot. Theyre very technically skilled, and I have no doubt they can make whatever drink you're looking for. The first time I came here I was enamored with the draft list, which is also expansive and exciting.
The food really speaks for itself, I haven't had a single item that wasn't great, with above average ingredients, execution, and presentation. Overall I love this spot and my only regret is that I live far away from it.
Mark Tobin
This place is a meat lovers paradise. Where else, when you say “I’ll have the culotte steak(and fries)” do they say “Great, I’ll go cut that for you”. Service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Small, but tastefully chosen wine and craft beer lists. These folks are foodies - you gotta go!
J B
This place is so good that it's hard to review almost. They had to close down a lot of what they were doing because of covid but even still the food is amazing. It seems like such an experimental, communal effort to take a culinary experience somewhere incredible that it's hard not to get into the food you are eating on a similar level. Ask them how they seasoned or prepared things if you come here and chances are they will get excited to tell you. I did and the guy made sure to get me to-go containers of the spice mixes. It's a labor of love and it really shows, even now when they've had to reduce things down to what current times will allow. I hope they come out the other side of all of this ok, because as far as I know this is the best food, in the best environment, that Seattle has to offer.
Kitten Freeman
My Fiancé found this place on a whim when a friend flaked on us for an appointment unrelated. We just had some sides (mushrooms, crushed potatoes, Brussel sprouts), and everything was absolutely AMAZING! The potatoes and mushrooms were so aromatic; my Fiancé literally closed his eyes after each bite of mushrooms. I loved the crispy caramelized Brussel sprouts and the accompanying sauce (sauce for the potatoes was grand, too). We will definitely have to come back to try the Filet Mignon. The Bartender remarked that the menu has been shortened for now and hopes it will come back soon. Customer Service was extremely attentive, pretty much everyone checked on us. We are so happy we found this little place, and I'm happy they have survived the Pandemic thus far!
Caleb Hou
I'm a regular now. The food is amazing and the staff and atmosphere are equally great. Seriously, the food. Oh my god.
Mark Andruk
If you are considering the Ruben, do it. Add bacon. Full stop. You will not regret the smoky meaty paradise in your mouth and will make you question the validity of the claims that other Rubens were even food. The place is chill and if you cannot decide between their wonderfully curated craft draughts they are more than happy to help you though one of the toughest decision of your life by providing tasters. After that beer is gone try the other. Full stop. If you fell in love with your meal to the point of being meatsexual then they can sell you more of your true love at the deli. Oblige the offer. Full stop.
Beau Villamor
I come from a family of amateur Chefs, no one owns or runs a restaurant but I can confidently say that a large majority of the best food I've ever had came from sitting around the family table thanks to said families' passion for good food.
This as you can imagine leads to a high bar of expectations that most places can't reach. The Shambles manage to not just met that bar but so expertly pass it that I no longer see it in the rear view mirror of my car as I regret not being a local to the area so I can come back with concerning regularity.
The Shambles main claim to fame is it's meats. Butchered on sight and coming from local ranches for a fresh taste you will never get from any place else unless you have connections with a local farmer and/or butcher. The meat is so fresh that they can run out of certain things for the evening if to much is ordered. So if you plan to go go before the evening rush so you have the top pick like I did.
I ate a 19 oz pork chop with amazing sauces and pesto. A small side of potatoes caked in amazing seasoning along with a Aolie dip. And a small Reuben milkshake to finish off. On my way out I grabbed some meats from the butcher counter. Left a generous tip for both the amazing food and service and was satisfied with every penny I spent.
All in all it cost me roughly $100 for the entire experience minus the tip. But if you are in the area for a trip and have the money to burn you can not go wrong with The Shambles.
Ginte La
Average service, but great quality cuts and well made cocktails.
Nate Muller
I’ve been eating and drinking at the shambles since they first opened.
Everything there is excellent but the muffuletta might be my favorite. It’s such a unique sandwich. And rather than trying to duplicate the original, they’ve done their own take on it. It’s excellent!
But get whatever you want there. You can’t go wrong.
Bob Slydell
Edit: lets give these guys a good send off they deserve it! Dont even read the rest lol
The check vax cards so it's comfortable to be here. We really like coming here BUT lighting needs to be made more comfortable and I think they can up their game on cocktail preparation. They use fresh juice, they taste pretty good, but a lack of high-caliber technique causes these cocktails to drink like a pup cocktail and not like the mixology vibe they aim for. Food is on the pricier side, but they pride themselves in the sustainable and high-bar buchary which is cool.
I will keep coming back because the folks that work here are great and I want them to do well. Will raise my critical rating when they reach the perfection they certainly have the capability of!
Lhorna
Great place to grab a steak. I wish the fat would’ve been rendered better for the price, but the flavor and size were on point.
As far as atmosphere, staff is authentically friendly and this is one of the last places around that you can walk into and pretend you’ve time traveled back to when Seattle still felt like Seattle.
H. Stella Park
Shared several dishes for brunch and loved everything! particularly enjoyed the mushrooms from the pickle plate and the reuben
David Levy
My wife and I love this place. The Reuben, mole rubbed tri tip sandwich, sausage on a roll, chicken wings , and smoked braised mustard greens are our favorites. Whatever you order you’ll like. We’ve also bought steaks and charcuterie for home and it’s amazing. You can’t go wrong here and the bar is as good as the menu.
Eric Schmitt
Cannot say enough good things about The Shambles. Came here for a spur of the moment lunch and was overwhelmed by the quality of everything. Food, beverages, and staff are all top tier. The Shambles prides themselves on making everything in house and it shows. The food we ordered including charcuterie, a burger and the steak sandwich were amazing. They also have a small patio out the back to accommodate our dogs, and every person working there today had to come by and meet the pups.
Truly one of our new favorite spots here in Seattle.
David Waltari
The only poor review you will see about this place is someone complaining about a service fee. Honestly after visiting this place I wanted to give them more than 15 percent the servers was comforting to make you feel at home and the food was an experience. I wish I would have asked more questions over the phone but that just leaves room for a second trip :)
Addition to previous review I think this place should consider mailing their aged beef and cheese plates, this place has killer meat and cheese pairings and if they could share it with the area through ups and ice blocks I think this place would really expand quickly.
Katie Hooper
We came here for the first time last week and I left full of regret…. that I hadn’t been sooner!!! Amazing food, great drinks, friendly staff. I’m still having dreams about the pulled chicken sandwich. 100% adding The Shambles to our regular rotation of great neighborhood options!
Can Comertoglu
Great vibe, delicious steak, go early if you want more choices

Update *
We had a great experience, the food was fantastic and worth the wait! Such a long line waiting to be seated I was happy I was there by 5pm on Friday night. Looking forward to returning to try additional menu items and get some cuts from the in-house butcher.
*since I added this 2 years ago I felt it needed an update. I come about once a month ( or takeout) since I moved to Seattle and then the surrounding burbs. They have this exceptionalism that makes me feel like family even though I don’t get there as often as I did after moving north. Joel, Matt, and Rob we love your inspiration to deliver exceptional food/beverage menus but more importantly the experience we have every time we’re there.
Krista Miller
I've been a couple times and the food is always amazing! However, the wait time has always been at least twice as long as stated by the hostess and food comes out slowly. I expect sitting at the bar by yourself or as a party of two would be a much more expedited experience. If you're going with a group of 4 or more expect to be there for a while. Even so, the food is so good that I recomend this place to friends regularly. I also love the seasonal menu and knowing where the proteins are coming from- a great north Seattle gem!
Kevin Laycock
Wide selection of beer and meat. The sampler meat platter for 3 with cheese was more than generous for our party of 4. We were smart to share just two sandwiches as they are also generous. I loved the smoked and braised kale side option I got with the Reuben. Have yet to dip into the steak options on the specials board. Those are a bit pricey but, judging by the two meals I've had here, I am confident they would be good.
Crystal Wang
One of the best and most consistently great dining experiences I've ever had. Joel, Matthew, Robb and the rest of the Shambles family always go out of their way to make sure every guest has a great meal from start to finish. I always look forward to the next time I can visit again and I've only waited this long to review out of fear of not being able to get in because they become too popular! Love everything about this place!
Co Pilot
Shambles has an excellent bar and amazing food. You can also get unique and tasty cook-at-home meats and cheeses from their mini deli. The staff is always excellent, funny, and and down to earth and I've yet to have a negative experience. One thing is that due to the type of foods made here, rarely it might get smokey inside, however the staff quickly cleared it out, I just smelled like delicious smoked meats for a few hours :)
Strega Begonia
Sharing food experiences with friends is something I deeply cherish. So when a friend offered to take me to dinner at The Shambles I was delighted. One step in the door and I wanted to step right back out again. I felt as though I had walked into a cave. And not one of those “cool, I wanna explore this cave” kind of caves. There is no character and no charm. The walls are dark, the lighting is too bright in some places and too dark in others. The bar, while stocked with some of the best droughts on tap, is enormous and cold. The backdrop is a huge slab of stainless steel. Cold, cold, cold!! Some of the staff was great and attentive, some of the staff was unfriendly and made us feel ignored. For how busy it was we were sat quickly, but it took a while to get drinks or food ordered and we were sitting at the bar. When the food came I was deeply disappointed. We ordered the meet board for two. It, much like the restaurant looked cold and lacking in character. The cured meat was good, but felt like nothing really special. The rabbit was tasty, but the pickled peppers and the mushrooms were terrible!!! The mix of spices and different regions of food on one small board didn’t go well at all together. And I feel like it distracted me from how good the meat probably was. There is a way that you can make all these things work together, but this felt confused and overdone. The rolls are great and I quite liked the crackers. They have a little bit of a sweet spice on them. But I did feel like they overwhelmed the flavor of the meat. We also both ordered sausages on a bun. One Italian, one curry. Both were really tasty. And when there was a mix up in the kitchen, they fixed it right away. The bun was great, not too hard and not too soft and had really great flavor. The kraut sort of felt like an afterthought, same with the tomato sauce or what ever it was that came with. It was way too sweet. I would have just rather have had the mustard and bread with the sausage. For dessert we ordered the apple custard. It was absolutely terrible. The pretzel crust was mushy, the apple custard was just tart and there was enough nutmeg sprinkled on the top to last a lifetime. They were kind enough to take it off the tab because I did not eat it. The beers however were AMAZING!!!! Some of the best taps I’ve ever tasted.
I can appreciate what they are trying to do with an in house butcher and making things from scratch. But I personally feel like trying to be on trend is taking away from something that could be really special. The meat is great, and the beer is great! Keep it simple and let those things shine through.

Superior in all facets! The meat and cheese tray was superb along with the Dragon's Wrath beer. The wife and I were super excited to find the "holy grail" that is ... STEAK TARTARE. Truly a wonderful experience and a highlight to an awesome Friday afternoon. Shout out to Dillon and the whole staff!!
I highly recommend and cannot wait to go again.
Daniel P
I can’t recommend Shambles enough. From the friendly staff, to the excellent beer list, to the fantastically sourced ingredients they really take care to do things excellently. Their market is also a gem. I got a filet from them the other day to cook at home, and it was among the best cuts of beef I’ve ever had.
Joe Coats
Had an amazing brunch here! I got the hash with bacon rashers as a side. My girlfriend got the Eggs Benny. Both were wonderful and largely portioned :).
What stuck out the most was the quality of meat in the dishes, and the POTATOES. They were some of the BEST potatoes I have ever had! They were fried in pork back fat, smooshed, and dusted with a plethora of spices that worked so well together. My girlfriend got them as a side to her eggs Benedict, I had to steal a few. I am still regretting not getting some to-go.
Also, great drink menu. Tons of options for draft beer categorized into styles and even taste profiles.
Excellent service too! Brunch is served till 4pm. This place is great!!!
Kira Budinger
This charming place has the best charcuterie board ever. I love that everything is in house or local. We went on a Tuesday afternoon so it was pretty empty and they were out of what I originally wanted to order. The atmosphere is probably better at a busier time. But oh my god the quality of the food is amazing. Great beer selection too.
Sean Crawford
Fine dining in the most relaxed atmosphere anywhere. The food is ALWAYS incredible, awesome staff, great rotating menu, awesome cocktails and always an impressive beer list make this place my favorite restaurant / neighborhood bar in Seattle.
Chris McQuillan
I had heard good things about this place, but it even exceeded my expectations. I was with a friend who has pretty high standards and he was pretty blown away. We ordered 3 dishes to share and they were all excellent. They have a great rotating beer selection and charcuterie you can purchase to go. There isn't much of that, but the food they serve in the restaurant is worth it. Some items are not cheap, but he quality is there. Definitely recommend putting it on your list if you haven't been yet. I/We have been telling a lot of people about it.
Paul Shrives
Bright future for The Shambles! My wife and I went for opening weekend and had an extraordinary experience. We were greeted by friendly wait staff who all remained attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The Shambles boasts an extensive draft beer list with much care placed in the selection (I tried 3 and my wife tried 3, all were delicious). But the beer was just the tip of the iceberg as the food was phenomenal. We had the BBQ Chicken and the Tri-tip sandwiches and the bread was fresh, meat was moist, and flavors were incredible. Also, you choose from a variety of sides, crushed potatoes were excellent! Highly recommend! We will go again!
Amanda Smith
Great beer selection and amazing meats. I've loved the veggies in past visits. Ordered the mushrooms in ghee and sour beer which were fabulous my first visit and found them utterly bland, also slightly cool. That was the only disappointing thing about my latest visit. Split a meat and cheese plate (wonderful) and a tritrip (Yum) and crispy pork belly (great with carrot kimchi).
Doug Webster
We are going back. There were too many things we wanted to try on the menu. What we had (porchetta) was mind blowingly good. The charcuterie platter was fantastic. The beer selection is wide ranging and top notch. The especially listed are fantastic. Best of all, the service was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were ready to explain cuts of meat. They brought our uncooked dinner out from the aging room so we could get a better idea of the portion sizes too help us order. There is even plenty of parking!!! Great experience all around. I want to go back to all my other reviews and de-rate them because my experience here was so good. A new bar has been set.
Gayle Rustenburg
Such a hidden gem! All it takes is one visit, and you will be hooked. Where else can you go that you can select from a display case of the nightly cuts of meat? Delicious side dishes and small plates! Love this cozy environment!
R Campeau
If you like meat, cheese and alcohol, then this spot is definitely for you. No kids under 21 allowed. Large selection of beers on draft. House made meats and a selection of locally sourced steaks that go quickly. The space is casual and usually fills up quickly. They open at noon daily and there's a small butcher counter to get goods like bacon by the pound.
Brian Pratt (VanBowen)
Went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Service was quite good considering there was only two servers. Very friendly folks. Had the smoked corned beef hash, which was absolutely amazing! I can see the place getting a bit overwhelmingly crowded as it's quite small, but it wasn't too bad for us.
Kristi Ng
Tired of quarantine meals, we came here the other day to pickup takeout for dinner. Super delicious to-go cocktails, really flavorful meat dishes (I could smell the smoke from the charcuterie on my fingers), and really friendly staff. The bartender ran after us because we forgot our order of pickles, which was appreciated!
Holly Gross
What a delicious experience! The atmosphere and scarf were lovely, the food was fantastic! I ordered various small plates. Highly recommend the marinated olives and the foraged mushrooms (I’m a fungi fan and these were truly killer!!) The kale salad was scrumptious with tender kale and lots of nuts and seeds. I saw and drooled over neighbors sandwiches. Great cocktails. Beautiful wood work. Highly reccomend! Busy on weekends cuz, they’re a gem and worth the wait!!
Daniel Maguire
Amazing charcuterie, smash burger and cocktails!
RON TANZI
Excellent selection of draft beers on tap and speciality meats cured on location.
Helen McGough
Stopped by the Shambles "market" the other day to buy sausages, a duck breast, and a chicken. The sausages were lovely -- juicy and spicy. Haven't cooked the duck breast yet, but the chicken was the best I have ever had! I simply roasted it with salt, pepper, and lemon. It was firm and juicy -- not soggy like supermarket chickens. The leftover meat (there are only two of us) was delicious in chicken salad and the bones made a wonderful broth. Gonna stop by today for a growler and another chicken. So happy Shambles is still in our neighborhood!
Rachael Perkins
Awesome food, cocktails, and service. Walked in and had a 15 minute wait on a Saturday night but we were immediately served tasters and drinks. Plenty of room to sit and talk. Food was fast and delicious. Great all around experience. We will be back!
Andre Golard
I had my birthday dinner there - sits 14 comfortably in the private room. Fabulous food, served family style. Great beer selection. Those drinking wine were happy too. We had a wonderful time.
Chelsea Palmer
This is the best food in Seattle in my opinion. Almost everything is made in house and the cocktails are incredible. This place is so meat forward so be cautious if you’re a vegetarian. The food, service, and drinks do not disappoint. Always opt for a charcuterie board if you can. Eat here.
Adam Lydick
Great place -- tasty (serious!) cocktails, good food, fast service even though it was totally packed.
It's small and family-style seating, so expect to bump shoulders with a neighbor, but the crowd was relaxed and friendly, as was our very patient bartender.
I shared a Ruben and a meat and cheese plate -- both stellar.
Mary Brendon
AMAZING food! The Ruben was the best Ruben I’ve ever had. And the Brussel sprouts were fantastic. My husband doesn’t even like Brussel sprouts and he couldn’t keep his hands off them. We will for sure make the drive back to this place from Redmond. It’s well worth the drive and the tolls!
Jeney Wierman
The food is out of this world yum. Mushrooms, charcuterie plate and TRI tip sandwich were all absolutely divine. Great staff (servers and bar staff) and service was fun and personal. Loved every minute.
John Kochendorfer
Awesome place! Very well put together beer selection. Not just a long list of beers, but a lot of beers you want to drink. Food is a level above what you could expect and there is a nice variety to the menu. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
Kevin Carroll
If you like meat and/or beer you will love this place. Great food and excellent beer list. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Slightly more expensive than other places near by, but worth it. I have only been here for lunch and can't wait to go back for dinner. There are no TVs, so don't think you can watch a game here, and it is 21+ so don't think you can bring your kids.
Edit - Added a 5th star because I've been here a couple more times at continue to be impressed!
Atarah Levy
Charming neighborhood bar with a beautiful interior built from a salvaged barn. Excellent bartender (loved our Manhattan and Lemon Drop).. Succulent food.....the charcuterie board was splendid as was the wagyu steak. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and well-trained. We will be returning soon!
Fedor Zhdanov
We got steaks. Both were good but not excellent. Too much fat for a New York strip.
The price isn't justified at all. Moreover, the service charge is automatically included and only 70% goes to the employees. What 30% goes to?
So a decent place but not great at all.
Terence Yang
Very excellently executed food. Coming from San Francisco, most of the food in this area disappoints me. Had the tri tip sandwich and it was probably a top 5 in sandwiches I've had in my life.
Soft but toasted bread, fantastic tri tip, and decently portioned.
The potatoes are also close to culniarily perfect.
Definitely am going to come here frequently.
If the food is this good for takeout, I can't imagine how good it will be when covid is over.
If this was back home, it would very much be in a very competitive tier of restaurants.
Garrett King
Great staff, very knowledgeable about beer. Had a great dinner here.
Cassandra Smith
The Shambles is one of the best date spots in town. Beautiful new restaurant known for craft cocktails and special brews. I always get the meat and cheese plate, and it's always something different to try. Also their steak tartar is incredible! Terrific service and knowledgeable staff. They even opened up a to-go counter so you can take meats home to make yourself. Parking in the back makes it easy, also along bus lines and street parking friendly. Really an amazing spot for a growing Maple Leaf community.
John Judnich
The Shambles may be one of the most amazing restaurants we’ve ever found; even though it’s more of a “deli and bar”, you will only find food here of a quality far exceeding the majority of most “fine dining” restaurants.
The food they offer here is incredibly, indescribably delicious, particularly (to my taste at least) their sandwiches, bone broth, steak and eggs, potatoes, and several other dishes.
I have never tasted a better sandwich, ever, anywhere, period. The same applies to their bone broth. If nothing else, I highly recommend you try these (bone broth and one of their dinner sandwiches) — I suspect you’ll find yourself similarly blown away, and feel be similarly compelled (in the best way) to come back many times, and bring others to experience the amazing food here.
Nick Spada
Started with a delicious meat and cheese plate and finished with the tri-tip sandwich w/ brussel sprouts as my side. Enjoyed everything I tried. They had a good selection of beer as well. Both owners were working that night and were great to talk to. I can't wait for the deli portion of the restaurant to get up and running!
Travis Banducci
Whoah. This place exudes excellence. Big selection of amazing unique draft beers. Excellent, knowledgeable staff. A deli if you care to take home some delicious high end meats. Beautiful setting and not pretentious. Definitely will be back.
Hilloah Whealser
Very nice experience. We sat at the bar since it was quite busy on a Saturday night. We had the geoduck, pork belly and a tri-tip sandwich. The food was very good. They had a nice selection of sour beers (my fav.) The bar and wait staff were very busy but still attentive and friendly.
Robyn Nolan
Only being open a week, they have some kinks to work out. They were packed on a Saturday night and it took awhile to get all of our food. The Italian sausage was tasty, but the casing a bit thick for a sandwich and hoped the kraut/slaw was hot vs cold. It was missing the jam too. The clams we're good and a bit salty from the bacon. Oysters were delicious. Drank beer, but will go back and try some of the cocktails. They we're out of all of sandwiches. We were looking forward to the tri tip and the chicken. Next time...
Cassandra Barany
My husband often say that this place is THE BEST food in Seattle. It’s soooooo good. Really. Everything we’ve ever ordered is soooooo good. Their new burger is maybe the best burger in Seattle? Really. You should go.
Gregory Asher
Very very good food. Delicious smoked meats. We got a tri tip sandwich and the flavors from the meats and peppers were nothing like what I was expecting but a very pleasant surprise. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
Philip Lau
The shambles is always rock solid. If you like meat, then you'll like this place. A lot of work goes into curing and ageing their own meat and pickles all done in house. Food is solid and this is a local gem.
Calvin Knapp
Such a phenomenal addition to the neighborhood! Tried the charcuterie board, pork belly sampler, tri tip sandwich, smoked chicken sandwich, and a steak. Everything was fantastic, in particular the smoked chicken sandwich and the whipped lardo on the charcuterie plate. Beer selection is on par with any gastropub in town, and a decent number of wines as well. Very friendly service to top it all off. Can’t wait to go back!
Paul Shean
I have to say the food is good and atmosphere pleasant. I have a problem with the automatic added 15% gratuity "Fair wage" as they call it. A gratuity should be the customers choice. If you want to charge more to pay your employees and yourself then it should be added to the individual menu item prices leaving the choice to leave a gratuity or not to the customer. The only reason to do it the way it is being done now is to make the menu items appear reasonably priced to entice people to eat and drink there. This practice has not worked well for other businesses but in the end it should be listed boldly on the website and the first page of the menu.
Abraham Kannankeril
Good food, great service
I dropped in while walking the neighborhood, found the place to be warm and inviting. The servers were very courteous, attentive and friendly without being too intrusive.
My ham & brie sandwich with a farm egg added was exactly as I hoped it would be, and yes...they had free wi-fi that worked :)
One minor surprise was a 15% added service charge. minor because the service I got deserved more than 15% but my initial reaction was annoyance at the aggressive move.
Drew Grissom
Great new bar/restaurant in mapleleaf. The tap list alone is worth a visit. Nicely curated with obvious attention to selecting some of tastiest brews this region has to offer. I didn't come hungry, but I had a few bites of the tartare and it definitely surpassed my expectations of how good that dish can be. Come visit while you're waiting for the BMW motorcycle dealer to fix the myriad of problems on your new GS and contemplate while you didn't buy a Honda over a dank IPA and sausage roll, you won't regret it.
Jeremy Wichmann
I absolutely love this place and everyone that works there. The owners are great people and its always a pleasure to see and chat with them too. Their food is so delicious and well prepared from the quality of ingredients to presentation and their to go butch shop selections. Try the tri-tip sandwich 🤩 …
VC Conte
Their charcuterie is wonderful. You can tell they are craftsman with this. Great choice for a light lunch as you can get a tinier order. They also have soup and bone broth (the bone broth sometimes they can put some items in you may not want -- so just ask them what they're putting in it that day).
Tim
Came here with my friend that lives in Kansas City, so he knows his smoked meats. Amazing charcuterie plate meats/cheeses and the best Reuben I've ever had along with great drinks. All of the cocktails I've tried have been great, especially if you're a fan of old fashioneds, gin, and/or mezcal. Tons of great beer on tap, and service is always fast and friendly. Quickly becoming my go-to spot for weekend lunch/dinner/drinks.
Sarah Yukes
Nice small happy hour spot in the Maple Leaf neighborhood. Nice offering of charcuterie and a few dishes. Excellent tap list and some super creative cocktails! Owner is very pleasant. Keep this new business alive!
ElizaBeth Link
Nice atmosphere, lots of dark wood, plenty of bar seats and tables, some communal. The food was great: yummy and varied charcuterie, pickled veggies and cheeses, the Mole-rubbed Tri Tip Sandwich was excellent, and the Panacota was delicious. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable.
Trent Piepho
Excellent charcuterie plate, good selection of local beers on tap. The Reuben sandwich next to us looked good too. There are communal tables and there is space at 6:00, but after 7 be prepared to wait.
Carl Rutherford
Super chilled place with good food and beer selection. Reuben was really tasty along with all the sides. The tables out the back were perfect for a Saturday lunch.
JON NATALLE
Pretty average food and service. Everything was greasy even the chickpea stew. Ruben = flavorless sandwich. Glad I did not Ofer any of the overpriced steaks etc. They are clearly trying but missing the mark in my opinion. Good tap list.
Jared Douglas
First time picking up here and I've obviously waited too long. Between the foraged mushrooms, smoked mustards, crushed potatoes + the rib eye I got from the butcher shop & cooked at home, it's a spectacular flavor combo.
Jessie Liu
Cocktails are boozy and not miniature. The food is really flavorful and there is a wide variety. My gf had the gnocchi and I had the Tri tip sandwich with crispy brussels as the side. All of it was amazing, will definitely return to try more dishes
Or Vallah
Excellent food and service. My favorite place in the neighborhood.
Andrea S
Warm, casual, inviting restaurant with friendly waitstaff. We shared a communal table with some nice neighbors. Steaks were perfectly cooked with delicious chimmichuri sauce. Sides of crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted veggies and fennel dusted potatoes with mushroom aioli. What a treat! We didn't have dessert, but the options looked tasty. Wish my dining partners had wanted to share the porchetta. Very accommodating for our gluten free needs. We will definitely be back.
Tracey Stewart
This place is a little too "Portlandia" for my taste. Pretty precious, we were waiting for the server to tell us the name of the cow during the specials. Food is good but REALLY does not justify the prices. The prices are ridiculous, but maybe that's just what Seattle is now. My hubby had a beer, I had a cocktail, we split 2 veggies and the charcuterie board with our friends. No joke....$85 for our half of the bill. That's NUTS, people.
Daniel Stephens
Situated on an unassuming corner just north of UW is a gem just waiting for you to enjoy. The Shambles is a well thought out space that is intimate yet welcoming. While it may be easy to get crowded, this only adds to what you should expect to find as a part of a social experience that is genuine in every way.
Home of the best charcuterie presentation that can be found anywhere that I know of, it is put over the top by amazing meat and accompaniments made in house and cheeses sourced from local producers.
The sandwiches looked amazing but we stuffed ourselves on cured meats and will have to return to try out the rest of the menu.
Carefully executed cocktails are available, as is a decent selection of wines. We chose to stick to a beer draft list that appeard as meticulously curated as the meats.
Happy hour on Tuesday (4p-5p) saw plenty of space available for more guests to be served so don't hesitate.
Couldnt have asked for a better place to treat myself to a little birthday indulgence. I will be returning soon, including everytime I'm in the neighborhood.
Ian Gienger
Odd location, incredible food and drink. My taste buds quiver here, especially on the top shelf stuff.
I usually tell people fine food is wasted on me because I can't tell the difference: food is food. Not here. The love and effort shows and it makes me want to learn what the hell kind of magic this is.
Michael Brady
The Shambles is a brand new place in Seattle and we attended a soft opening. It is a warm and inviting space with a beautiful bar, wood overtones, and a bar crafted from a thousand-year-old tree. They make specialize in butchery, charcuterie, smoked meats, sandwiches, sausages, and beer. The selection of each is exceptional. They have a bone broth soup that is soulful and flavorful, house-made sausage with IPA mustard, impressive meat and cheese boards, and wonderful playful seafood.
Now if you are a vegetarian you are reading this without excitement, but fear not for the fennel, egg, fig and goat cheese sandwich is exceptional. It is hard for vegetarian sandwiches to be moist and rich, but this pulls it off. Vegans - the chickpea stew with Romanesco is for you.
Add to all of this you have 32 craft taps and specialty cocktails. The beer ranges from incredible IPAs to sours to barrel aged stouts. My wife ordered a cocktail and told the bartender to surprise her. It was one of the best drinks she has ordered in a restaurant.
Andy Hann
Food was really great. Steaks were excellent and priced accordingly. Service was also good.
Kip Nordby
Best charcuterie plates in Seattle, phenomenal meat selection overall. Almost everything is made in house and the servers are really helpful and will give real recommendations. A must go!
Jon Stevens
An extraordinary culinary experience that truly expresses the passion and dedication of its founding staff.
I'll be frank, when I first heard of The Shambles' concept a few years back, I feared it was going to be some hipster nonsense. The word "gastropub" gets thrown around so much in this town that it's basically become code for "overpriced high-concept small plates". Thankfully, these assumptions could not have been further from the truth.
With an artful selection of beers (including an emphasis on malts and dark beers truly rare among Seattle restaurants) and a carefully curated menu of hearty, exciting, locally-sourced entrees, The Shambles truly stuns in the craft of its execution. I ordered the fennel confit sandwich with a side of foraged mushrooms. Both were exquisite-- flavorful, innovative, satiating, and perfectly portioned.
Overall, and I say this exceedingly rarely, I was blown away, and I am excited to explore the rest of their menu.
Sarah Cahan
Outstanding service, cocktails and food. The mushrooms small plate were so good and the wagyu cooked to perfection. Looking forward to going back.
David Seider
One of the best new places in Seattle we've been to and I think they're only going to get better now that things are settling down and they can bring back their people.
Meat experts, but also good with all the other little things that have nothing to do with meat.
Thank you for a memorable birthday!
Nick Sullivan
This place is excellent. Great beer selection and cocktails. For food, they make all their own sausages and cure their own meats. Highly recommend trying the bone broth.
Robert Hallwood
Cool little smoke house with great choice of smoked meats done up nicely without the BBQ sauce. Wide selection of craft beers too. A friend introduced me to it and anxious to go again.
Fredrick Ty Brownfield
Super fun and high quality all around. First time I ever tried steak tartare. I think they did a good job however it was not for me.
Kaitlin Hudson-Mott
The shambles has a mouth-watering selection of food. Their charcuterie board is always delicious. The draft list is superb as well. Definitely one of our favorite places in the Seattle area!
byron moles
Great menu. Everything we tried was amazing. My only complaint was the wait. It's a very small place. Also they don't start serving dinner till 5 and that's when everyone shows up so the kitchen gets backed up very quickly
Gary Hopkins
Second time there. Good beer, good food, (clams & sides of Brussels sprouts and Chard) good atmosphere ( friendly & the owners remembered me). They're new but great start.....let's support it!
Carrie Stuart
Enjoyed the most amazing duck cassoulet today for lunch along with the charcuterie and cheese plate. When faced with the extensive draft beer list, I was a bit overwhelmed. Fortunately, they're listed by category so that helped narrow it down. The gent who helped us gave me 3 samples and absolutely nailed it with his initial suggestion. Can't wait to go back!
P Cooper
Absolutely unique and delicious. Get the Chicken Wings if they are available. The pace is not quick, but completely worth it.
UPDATE: Still amazing, tried the Smashburger…absolutely worth it.
zafo adams
This place is amazing. Got the wagyu teres major, and it was so good. It had "this butter of the Gods" and its so damn good. Plus the drinks are amazing. This place is top notch.
KielScott
This is the way to do it. Great atmosphere with wood work that compliments the meats. Butcher shop, smoke house, picklery meets pinkies up come as you are great watering hole. Highly recommended for meat, cheese connoisseurs.
Adam Barley
I have been here twice. The food its amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the OWNER works the bar! Aside from its wooden bar and supportive staff... it's a place you should go, but please don't tell your friends...I like being able to get a table
Nathan Manning
Sooooo good. I almost don’t want to review it so that it doesn’t get swamped, but it’s just too good to deny. We ordered numerous things to sample the menu and they were all good, some even amazing.
The only downside is a bit of a wait. The neighborhood is obviously starved for this type of place. Plan ahead and come early.
Jordan Bell
Best meats, good veggies as well. Nice staff. tea pots for the tea
Dead Botting
These guys are great. Funny people, good beer, super chill environment. Makes me wish I actually lived in seattle and could come here every day. Highly highly recommend. Be kind and receive kind.
Ian Howard
Smoked chicken sandwich was great. Great taplist. I came for lunch on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy but I hear their peak hours get nuts. Will be back.
Amelia
I love this place, never been disappointed! Great drinks, even better food and service. Definitely try the meat and cheese board! No kids allowed which is a perk for me.
Adam Currie
A local treasure. Their passion for beers, meats, spirits, cheese, and pickled anything is readily apparent and impressive. I could as easily drop $100 on a decadent splurge as I could come in for a $30 dinner and still leave tipsy and full. I could go on, but I won't: just go.
Owen Pearson
This is one of the few places I've been where I wish there was a sixth star to rate. Amazing beer list, cocktails designed by the owners which are fabulous, an some of the best food in Seattle.
Lisa Ballatore
Great food! Absolutely incredible choice of steak and meat and charcuterie. Also good wine and beer. Enjoyed the ambiance and knowledgeable, attentive staff.
Ned Gerhart
Great food and beer selection, very busy place. Be careful when they bring the bill - they automatically add 15 percent gratuity too every check, so if you aren't paying attention, it is easy to inadvertently tip them 30 percent.
Matthew Peck
The folks at The Shambles turn out an impressive and delightful performance every day. From the friendly, engaging staff; to the insightful tap list and expert bar; to the magnificent, continually renewing menu, this is a triumph. High-class product in a homey and familiar setting, there is nothing to want for. If you haven't been here, your life is incomplete.
Billy The Fridge
I always leave this place impressed. The charcuterie board kicks off what will inevitably be a superior experience. The staff are both hospitable and cool. Love this place.
Clay Dawson
Awesome food, we had the chicken sandwich and the tritip sandwich. Super. Excellent sides. Eclectic beer choices which is a good thing. Great service.
Nicole B
This place is hands down one of my favorites!! I've had pretty much everything on the menu, and all was fantastic. My favorites are the shishito peppers, Wagyu Bavette and tri-tip sandwich.... plus the bone broth and crispy pork belly is super yummy.
Jake Crawford
Great beer selection and even better food. Such an awesome location with beautiful wood work. A great old butcher block, Thor’s mallet and so much more. Will return.
Nancy White
Wonderful, flavorful food prepared with care. We loved the Reuben sandwich and the persimmon marinated beet salad. The smoked chocolate mousse was sublime.
Kevin Clements
Smaller menu, with a rotating selection of very nicely done steaks. Everything on the menu is quite good. Good eclectic beer selection.
eilene werner
I Love this place! Very unique and comfortable. Our server Mika was very friendly and professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back!
Jacob John
This is the only place in Seattle that reminds me of home. Service is exceptional. The people are genuinely a pleasure. The food and cocktails are second to none. Nothing compares.
Alyson Osborn
Absolutely amazing. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Great beer. Great craftsmanship of the meats and cheeses. The service is outstanding.
Kyle Kalmbach
Delicious candied almond's. And they have a late night menu. Also they made a mocktail for me. And sell meat. If you need to buy meat late at night go there for late night fresh cuts.
Roelof Nel
When my friends eat good meat they think of me, that's how I found The Shambles. A good friend insisted that I join him for lunch! Lots of good meat, beer and wine! Please don't try this place if you like vegetables, you will be disappointed.
Mike Palmer
Excellent food and a laid back atmosphere - almost everything there is made in-house and their commitment to quality and deliciousness shows!
Greg Fyke
Love it here. Fantastic charcuterie boards. Delicious food. Amazing beer selection. Great staff.
Duncan Hendrick
The food is amazing, all locally sourced and a lot of it is butchered/cured in house. They have a good selection of beer too, and the long communal tables and large bar area gives an atmosphere of a friendly, local pub
John Lehman
The only place in NE Seattle to go for great beer along with house ground sausages of flavors from around the world. The full menu indulges the most particular of palates.
Dan Glaser
DON'T GO!!! There isn't a lot of seating and I really, really like this place, so...
Great beers, amazing meat. What else could you want? Parking? Well, they have that too.
ben Lindhardt
I don't know how I lived without this place before. The food is so good I feel like I'm just remembering a dream and it wasn't real. Staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If I could give 10 stars I would.
Stacey Jonson
A very friendly neighborhood joint. The food is fantastic! Once the meat market is up and running, this place will have more than a few reasons to stop by. Parking lot is in back on the alley.
Matt Branaman
Fantastic service. We had a great time celebrating Valentine's day at the Shambles and as an added bonus we got to pick up some bacon for breakfast the next day and a pig ear for our puppy!
Joshua Moushon
Gotta love the charcuterie and the all of the fantastic food, all backed up by a great cocktail and beer program. Can get a little busy but the wait is definitely worth it (plus you can have a beer while you wait).
Michael Delles
One of my favorite places. The food is always phenomenal, and it's my favorite treat to myself.
Jeremy C
Consistently interesting/good tap list, fair prices, nice environment, delicious plates (small and large), and very good service. Favorite picks: the steak tartare and the jerky.
Ryan Ross
Having a Gose on tap is ftw off the bat, for me.
It gets crowded; naturally.
The staff are knowledgeable and, honestly, seem to take care and with all and unique dishes, beverages and display of fresh cuts
Alex Lindner
The vast tap list featured many NW brews. Excited to follow the rotation. My god, the food. They nailed everything we tried, from the pastrami to the charred brussels sprouts.
Jessica Trimble
People are fantastic, food was amazing!
The Anderson Team - Windermere Real Estate
Great knowledgeable staff and amazing foods 🤪 …
Tiffany Schramm

(Translation) Great bar and great food! The bartenders are genuine and good artists, and great to chat with, and will prepare drinks for you on the spot.
They're very technically proficient, and no doubt they can make whatever drink you're looking for. The very first time you get struck by the menu list, which is also expansive and exciting.
The drinks and the food really speaks for the specialty, you can't miss a single thing, you get what you want.
Everything is best with good content and presentation. Overall everyone will love this place and you will want to come here again and again and enjoy drinks.
