What better place to view Vashon over a hot cup of coffee than The Hardware Store. We were first in the door on a beautiful, crisp, sunny Sunday morning, and coffee quickly appeared. Nice friendly service. The Vashon Breakfast is aptly named-perfect eggs, the potatoes are the best we’ve had. So crunchy and flavorful! Oh, the Eggs Benedict-simply amazing- nice salty ham supporting creamy, not gushy runny eggs, and the same crispy potatoes. And, go see KD Lang’s guitar! I admit I gave it a wee tune up.

We were on the island for a bachelorette party and went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Since there were 5 of us we made a reservation. We had great service and great food. Three of the five got the fried chicken and mashed potatoes which they raved about. I had the burger and fries, which was cooked to my liking. A great standard burger. The last person got the Mac and cheese which I thought was underwhelming with the noodle choices but they loved it! I'd go here again if I found myself on Vashon.

Traveled to the island as a first time visitor and had no set plan, other than to just wander and explore. We were starving and hadn't eaten since breakfast so we also wanted to sit but not wait and my son's picky eating was in play on this one so he just wanted a burger or familiar food, no risk taking on this one. We were on foot and the only options we could find were pizza or The Hardware Store Restaurant. I don't prefer to get pizza when traveling as I have a teenager....there's plenty of pizza in our lives. I actually did hear about an Italian restaurant on the island that makes 00 flour crusted pizza with imported ingredients from Italy but it wasn't where we were. 😔 I was hoping to go there. We did not have to wait and were given the booth we asked for. My son had the "Impossible Burger" and said it was because most restaurants Impossible burgers aren't Impossible. 🤔🤪. I had panko fried cod and fries. I thought I ordered the sandwich so I could have the cole slaw but I don't know. I ordered some on the side. The cod was very good and my son thoroughly enjoyed his Impossible Burger. I had a bit of traveling-all-day brain or mind-set so I didn't think to verify if it was truly impossible but he had no trouble eating that, drinking an amazing root-beer and oh man mouth watering clam chowder. Had I known I would have just had the chowder ...soooo good!! The staff was so friendly and my son is a talker but everyone just engaged in his conversation. Even offered up some suggestions on which stores within walking distance were worth a visit after hearing what we were interested in. The bill was a little....well shocking. It's my fault and I'm not sure where my receipt went but without tip it was $68.00. 😬 Our plates were just under $20 each and the soup was $10. I'm not sure how it got to $68 bucks? I tipped 25% because the waitress truly was worth it. But yeah.....more expensive than I planned. I'm no "karen" and at the end of the day I could have actually looked at what was on the bill so it doesn't impact the experience we had really. Dining room was clean, incredibly awesome staff and there was featured art in the back. It is 100% worth stopping by if you're there and I would go back.

The food of the hardware store restaurant is great and the waitresses & waiters are friendly! Definitely recommend the doughnuts, pork tonkatsu, and steak. The doughnuts are not too sweet and fluffy, very delicious. The streak and pork katsu are tasty. They are juicy and the meat are soft, not greasy. For the cocktail, I’d like to recommend hard raspberry lemonade. Sweet and sour, fresh! The only thing I’d like to complain is the portion.

I stayed in Vashon island for one night, and I ended up having my dinner and brunch at the same place. The food is good, and the drinks are amazing! I highly recommend this palace!

This place is honestly so good. The food is such a delicious version of classic recipes. We had biscuits & gravy, Vashon breakfast (amazing crispy bacon), french toast (off the kid’s menu - don’t miss it!), and this donut that changed my life. Jana was such a delightful server, this place made me wish we lived on Vashon & could come every weekend.

Amazing food and service! Dined here twice during a three-day stay and had breakfast and lunch. Good portions, great mimosas and great service. Cannot express enough how you HAVE to try the key lime pie, made fresh everyday. Shout out to all the staff, especially Kenzie. Will visit again, for sure.

Service was great. Super friendly and attentive staff. They earned 5 stars. The food was average at best, and too expensive for the quality. I got steak and eggs, which came with roasted potatoes and ranchero sauce. I wasn’t a fan of the ranchero, and they didn’t have steak sauce available. The over-easy egg was not evenly cooked, with goopy egg whites. Steak was also cooked unevenly. Potatoes were crispy and delicious. The menu listed the meal as $20, but the bill listed it as $23. I understand things can change and increase so quickly these days, but it still irked me. Don’t know if I’ll be back, maybe I’d try lunch or dinner.

Really attentive and positive wait staff, After a long hungry day, the Hardware Store Restaurant made for an excellent end to the day. Food was fresh, with positive lively atmosphere.

I’m sorry I can’t give a better recommendation on this restaurant. We had friendly service from our enthusiastic server and that was about it. The “spicy chicken sandwich” we were excited about was not fried chicken, it was grilled. The restaurant should update its menu to indicate grilled chicken. It would have been nice to know that. Confusingly, there is fried chicken on the menu, so that makes it even more confusing. Our friend who got the fried chicken salad was also disappointed because the hot fried chicken was placed right on top of the salad and wilted all the lettuce. Not great. Our other friend who got breakfast found the biscuits and gravy just plain, not good (not much gravy and what was there was somehow separated). Our bloody Mary’s were about as plain as one could make. Garnish: one olive. Nothing special about the meal at all. But the service was attentive to the extent possible as the place was so busy. We appreciated the service and their work, though it looked like they had more people than was reasonable for them. I would advise skipping this place on your trip through Vashon.

We were very pleased with The Hardware Store Restaurant. The service was fast and very good. We ordered the eggs Benedict and the cod sandwiches for the adults. They both were excellent. For the kids, French toast with sausage. Both kids ate everything. We will certainly come back when visiting the island.

Incredible food, amazing service! We had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding at THS and they took exceptional care of us. The vibe was on point, food blew everyone away, and most importantly they were kind and patient and fun with our closest friends and family. A classy yet casual place. Definitely will be back.

After wine and cider tasting around Vashon, grabbing a burger and fish and chips here was perfect! Only had to wait about 10 mins for a table on a busy Saturday afternoon. The burger was cooked to my liking and loved dipping the fries in ranch! The fish and chips were nice and hot! The tartar sauce was also very good. The restaurant itself is very large with tons of seatings - good for groups and families.

To the new owners, Please bring back the steak cut fries! They were our main reason for going to eat here. Service is always great and the food is excellent, but those fries were uniquely delicious. Trust your chef and customers, and let us experience joy once more. We will pay whatever you want.

If you want to find the heart of Vashon, this place is it. The food is as comforting as the folks who work here. We have been coming here since it's changed hands at least once a week. Always excellent. They accommodate gluten free and vegetarian and my eat anything spouse. Highly recommend!

Overpriced, subpar quality but still edible if you're in a pinch. $30 + $5.40 (18%) takeout service charge + tax for an Impossible burger, sweet potato fries & kid's fish n chips. The food was lukewarm when I picked it up. The burger was dry and had little flavor. There weren't flavorful sauces on it and ketchup for the fries was not provided. The fish appeared to be previously frozen prebattered. Little flavor and the breading peeled off easily. I asked my friend who has frequented Vashon for 30 years; she said the food used to be amazing under different management.

I used to love this spot. Breakfast was always on point and portions were great for the money. Last time I went I ordered a burger medium and paid the $5 extra for the truffle fries putting the whole plate at $22. That is a lot for a burger and fries, but if the burger is bomb, I'll pay it. What I got was a cold, medium rare burger that was just meh. I could've made better at home without even trying. The truffle fries tasted like fries that had already been made, but re-dropped in the fryer to warm them again, and then topped with a light smattering of parmesan cheese a squirt of what might have been truffle oil at one point in time, but diluted with regular oil so there was just a suggestion of a memory of truffle. The donuts also used to be better.- light, eggy, and delicious. Now they are heavy and greasy. So disappointing to pay for a meal that makes me sad...

We liked this place so much, we visited it two days in a row. Luckily, on the second day, they still had some of their house-made donuts left; we got one to share, and it was delicious. The Bloody Mary was on point. I had the Breakfast Bowl—a great vegetarian option. Also highly recommend the biscuits!

The Hardware Store has great food, a wide selection of drinks, and good service. The interior is nicely historic (hence the name), and feels warm while spacious. There are a few vegetarian options and a decent array of price choices, too. Location is very convenient, at the center of town. Every time I've been, it's delicious and the service is friendly.

Tremendous place. If you're looking for a restaurant with exceptionally courteous staff, low wait times, great ambiance, and tremendous food for a fair price, then come here. We came with a party of 7 just 20 minutes before they closed the lunch kitchen and they made every effort to get us seated and fed ASAP. Where the kitchen could have rushed out our food for being so late they instead cooked us a smorgasbord. I personally recommend the True Cod Fish Sandwich with their fries. Many people don't make a big deal about the fries but these were fried to perfection with the fish patty fried just as well. Their almond flavored Italian soda with whipped cream was also very refreshing. Oh and the check coming out in a cigar box was pretty classy too.

Delicious. The burger is exactly what I’d want at a restaurant. Toasted bun, perfectly medium, crispy lettuce and amazing pickles (never thought I’d crave a pickle). Kids meals are priced right and so good. Great ambience, will definitely be back.

First stop at the Vashon island, a perfect breakfast place. The food was amazingly delicious, the fries were crisp, grill chicken was perfectly cooked, definitely recommended place whenever you are here.

We went here for brunch and were very impressed. Well, breakfast I guess, because there was no booze involved (their cocktail menu looked very creative and tasty though! We will surely come back to dip into that). We started with the house made donuts, which were very unique and yummy. They were about the size and shape of baseballs with a craggy, glazed exterior and a light, almost custardy interior. Sweet but not saccharine and perfect with a steaming cup of their delicious coffee. The red flannel Benedict was great with clearly scratch made hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs and the house omelette was tasty. Definitely sub a biscuit for the toast. Big, fluffy and a perfect vehicle for their yummy raspberry jam. The lunch and dinner menu look great too, so we’ll definitely be back!

Service was good. Clam chowder was excellent maybe the best we’ve had. Entrees were below average for sure. Burger had good flavor but came out cooked rare. Cod fish and chips was embarrassingly bad. Dark chewy cuts with flavor much closer to carp than cod. This place has good reviews but did not deliver at lunch.

Cute restaurant on the main road in town. Very trendy and little on the pricey side. We had a nice meal and the staff was very accommodating. We loved the atmosphere and its quaintness!

Had the Red Flannel Benedict along with a half order of blueberry buckwheat pancakes and half order of french toast and the in house made donuts. Donuts are eggy like a french curler donut. Excellent. The corn beef on the Red Flannel benedict is put in beet juice, excellent flavor, eggs were a bit overcooked. Flavor on both the pancake and french toast was excellent. My only drawback was the food was lukewarm at best. Too hungry to send back. Syrup was ice cold right out of the fridge. I had asked for hot syrup. If food was hot, it would have been 4 stars. If plates were hot to keep food warm and the service was a bit better it would have been 5 stars. Waitress was a nice lady, grey/brunette haired woman that seems to work out of chaos. Could do better with a little mentoring.

Limited menu. Wish there were more vegetarian-friendly, gluten-free, and diabetic-friendly dishes or alternatives for substitutions (such as an option to sub fruit for potatoes). Also, my sister's scrambled eggs were over-salted and the sautéed greens (kale) were not massaged or salted, and thus were disappointing on the dish we were most excited about. My crostini would have been made more of a meal served with a fruit salad, or a tomato/ cucumber/ garbanzo salad... However, the atmosphere was comfortable and our waitress was attentive. My salmon crostini was delicious and my other sister said her bacon and sausage link were perfectly crispy and thick-cut.

Adequate service, a little expensive so keep that in mind for your visa. Had a cider which normally comes in full pint glasses, but this was served in a probably 12 oz glass. Had the suggested fried rice, which was okay, yet overhyped.

It's classic diner food but elevated a little. Really limited menu after 2pm on sundays though. I totally understand why but there are 4 or 5 salads and about 6 sandwiches/burger and 1 wrap. Oh and clam chowder.

Everything was incredible! We got to have a room in the back for our friends birthday and the waitress was so friendly and nice! Really nice portions and not too expensive. The fries are crispy and warm and the desserts are FANTASTIC. It was a great atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff.

The host and waiter were very welcoming, with friendly service, and our locally sourced drinks were fantastic! However, our meal did not meet our expectations... for a local restaurant on the coast the fish n chips fell short of our expectations. The fish n chips served looked and tasted like that you would get from the freezer section of a grocery store. The tartar sauce was runny and bland. Would not return here for the fish and chips.

Visited twice during our weekend on Vashon - once for dinner and once for brunch and neither disappointed. At dinner I tried the steak gorgonzola salad a bottle of barbera among friends and it was delightful. Enjoyed brunch here with a friend and had the best omelette of my life. Don't miss the grapefruit mimosa! Both times the waitstaff was kind and it was a wonderful place to sit, eat and chat.

A nearly perfect experience. The service was good and food came out very fast. My standard for a good breakfast place is Eggs Benedict. If a restaurant can get this right, they can get most any regular food right. I gotta say... it was made very well. The egg was poached perfectly. The ham was cooked perfectly. The English muffin was toasted perfectly. The one slight imperfection is that the Hollandaise sauce had a touch too much lemon juice in it. But that's not why I give it only 4 stars. I give it 4 stars because they sat us directly behind the fireplace which was in use. Our table was directly against the back wall of it which was super hot. Too hot to touch! So having to sit there made it a very uncomfortable experience despite the good food and good service. I was literally sweating. My gf had the clam chowder and the fish and chips (pictured here) both of which were also made well.

Ownership change is UBER obvious, quality is not the same and we are so disappointed. I have been twice since the ownership change and I am so sad. I brought my best friend and her daughter during the strawberry festival. At my glowing review they both had the friend chicken, in both cases the breading was super dark and tasted burned, the chicken breast inside was still perfectly cooked, either they over cooked it or the fryer oil desperately needed to be changed. My previous visit a few weeks prior my fish was SUPER thin and over cooked to the point that it was chewy, thought it was just a fluke that one time until we came back on 7/16/2022. I will give them one more try before I write them off to being only good for the GF brownie Sundae. Wish me luck!

I have years I wanted to go here. I have to tell you the old menu had gluten free food listed and now the menu does not. Had to ask multiple times which items were gluten free. Salad came and was covered in croutons not gluten free the lack of knowledge was alarming.

Best Cod fish sandwich, but if your looking for a light meal have the delicious clam chowder add a salad, and don't forget dessert one of best one is gluten free brownie, or if you love banana cream pie, then definitely get the oreo banana cream pie crust. Very Fetch!

Decent food but not great. The Impossible burger was been better prepared elsewhere. This one was a bit dry and bland. Homemade lemonade was full of ice-no free refills. I’ve never been to a place of this caliber that gave me the check when I was still eating. I guess they were in a rush to get me out the door.

Great service and sweet potato fries. The coating on my fish and the fish itself wasn't great. I didn't eat mine but my friends said it was ok. They need to season the fish more while its raw and lighten the batter. Sorry guys.

The best dining experience possible on Vashon Island. A little spendy but with it for the excellent service and friendly, upscale atmosphere. I recently discovered I'd be happy to go here just for the Bloody Marys, which are Just Right. All dishes have been excellent so far. Totally recommend.

My husband and I were visiting from Whidbey Island. We had an awesome dinner with our nephew at The Hardware Store. My husband had the burger and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. Our nephew and I had the pasta, which was made in house. I loved it, and would definitely recommend it, but the focaccia was my favorite. It was amazing! Service was excellent, too.

If you are looking for the "Fancy" restaurant on Vashon Island, look no further. Located in the historic Hardware Store building that gives this eatery its name, this restaurant presents good food next to warm decore painted, in most cases by the island artists. Coming inside this place feels like entering a highly themed restaurant at Disneyland in the best possible way. The food also fits this high standard. Portion sizes are smaller then the American average, but each time I have gone, I enjoy my selection. The Fish and Chips are great on the less pricy part of the menu and the steaks are fantastic as well.

Stopped in for lunch with wife and friend on a Saturday afternoon. We were hungry that always make food taste better. Wife had fish n chips, friend and I both had the cod fish sandwich. Love a good fish sandwich. They were excellent. Fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. It was served on a soft bun, which I prefer and enjoyed. Wife said the same for her fish. The restaurant was busy and they had people spread out. Staff was super friendly. Interesting decor, had some cool art displayed in the back room and hallway. Street parking only. There's a parking lot up the alley way behind the restaurant, that is easy walking distance away.

A great place to get hard to find good tasting gluten free fish and chips. But the real reason to go is the divine gluten free brownie. Plus you get to ride the ferry boat to get to the island. Go early to avoid the worst ferry boat traffic and leave the island early PM also, the ferry boat line gets worse later in the day. Plan an early brunch to avoid crowds and wait times. They post on the door that they are currently under staffed due to the pandemic and worker shortage related to it. So please be kind and realize this. I mention this because several reviews have been rude and harsh even though the owners have a sign on the door explaining the situation. At least they are being up front about it when many restaurants are not. Also last time I checked they are closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to the shortage of available workers. If you have celiac disease they are knowledgeable about gluten and have dedicated gluten free equipment and work space. I did not have a reaction to any of the food and the gluten free brownie was the best ever.

This place and these people try their best to take care of you every time. We’ve been many times, and had a wonderful experience every time. The reason I am writing a review this time is because of what they did for us this morning. We were having a typically great time going there for breakfast when they let us know that there was a problem completing our order because of ingredients. They were also training new people in the kitchen, like most restaurants during the pandemic. We modified our order but realized we were going to miss a ferry. I asked if we could get our food to go. Not only did they package it up for us efficiently and accurately, they insisted we take it at no charge. Even when they are having an “Off” day, they STILL overdeliver. If you’ve never been, please try them. If you have been, please keep going. They deserve our support!

I've had both the Fried Chicken dinner as well as the Bashing Breakfast. It was all fantastic. The fried chick was evenly cooked while still being juicy and the breading was great. The star of the show was a spicy margarita that the bartender concocted for me. Sublime!

We had a great meal at The Hardware Store Restaurant. We stopped in for lunch after a few hours of touring around Vashon Island and shopping in the downtown shops. Two of us had the hamburger and it was the perfect size. And of course it came with a sizable pile of perfectly done french fries. The third member of our group had the Wedge Salad. It looked absolutely scrumptious and she was thrilled with her choice We will be back to this restaurant next time we are on Vashon.

I ate here twice since different people visited me while I was staying on the island for two weeks, and this seemed like the place to go. On the first visit, the spicy chicken sandwich was great in spite of not being spicy, and the how the chicken was cooked (it tasted good somehow, but was pounded flat and overcooked). The boyfriend loved his breakfast sandwich. The second visit was marred by a server that covered herself by lying, which wasn't appreciated. I got the fish & chips this time, which were perfectly fine, but not anything particularly special. The husband had what I got the last time, and said it was his best food of the trip. Overall, it's a solid spot for some above-average food. Vashon is a bit eclectic with its offerings, and it's nice to have a more standard, but quality place like this as an option.

I kept telling him about the restaurant I remembered with the sign outside that said "today's special: so's tomorrow" and he brought us there. I had the grilled salmon and he had the pork chops. Both were incredibly delicious. Our server was kind and patient (I have a lot of dietary needs) and the manager also came by to make sure our meal was going well. I can't wait to go back.

At 1st glance the hardware store is another bar-and-grill. But upon closer inspection it's A wonderful dining experience with a friendly and fun atmosphere. The service is impeccable always greeted with a smile. With an open kitchen and a delicious menu, A simple dining experience can turn into more fun than expected. Plenty of Room to move about from the bar to the back area the hardware store was a wonderful experience I look forward to having again. Loved this place when I visited the island. The food was delicious, the staff were very welcoming and understanding when some of our party had food allergies and such and tried to accommodate us as best as possible. The seating was comfortable. The only thing I could complain about if I was seated towards the door. Since It was extremely cold out the day I went and there was no real barrier other then some curtains to block the cold to those next to the door. I know it's not an easy fix. But definitely should probably have a more permanent fix in the future.

I was very disappointed in the kids meal. My son ordered fish meal and got one small piece of fish and like 15 small pieces of fries. No joke! I am disappointed since I heard great things about this place. Giving three stars cause my burger was good, but don’t go here for kids or if you bring them with you unless you plan on buying 2 kids meals per kid (or buy an adult meal).

Thoughtful in spacing patrons out by 6-ft and opening their outdoor seating spaces this pst weekend. Our burgers arrived a level under cooked so we had to get them redone- chef put absolutely no rush on the adjustment and pretty much put our order behind all of the new orders coming in. Our party was practically done their meals by the time the two of us got our burgers back. Extra star was for our server who gave us extra beverages and looked anxious that our food was not coming anytime soon. He expressed his apologies which was a nice gesture. The burgers were good once they were done correctly but the natural flavor wasn’t amazing. I loved the seared halloumi and truffle fry appetizers. Nice high ceiling, open space with very clean interiors, shiny floors, and some historical pictures. Good family-stop.

This instantly became a daily stop during our stay on the island, and I was glad for the extra opportunities to sample from the menu. The atmosphere is homey, comfortable, and welcoming. Depending on the time of day it can take a little bit to get seated (I don't think we ever waited more than 15 minutes, though) but it's worth the wait. If you're going, I recommend trying to make it in before 2PM so the breakfast menu is still available. While the lunch plates were good the breakfasts were incredible!

Pretty delish and filling. I ordered the banana bread french toast and I couldn't finish it. The slices were thick so it could probably be split between 2 people. The artwork in the back was innovative and fun to look at. We'll definitely be back next time we're on the island. There are plenty of other things on the menu that I want to try.

I can't say enough great things about the evening we had at The Hardware Store. They were so accommodating as to open the back patio for us. It was one of those hot, smokey, and humid nights this August, and i couldn't face being inside (although the restaurant is lovely inside.) The patio was cool, private, and lovely. The service was brisk and friendly. The food was delicious, and everyone in our party of five was happy with their choices. I was a little jealous of my sister's choice of appetizer...yummy brussel sprouts with caramelized onions. I was delighted to see so many choices for those of us that must eat gluten free, including clam chowder! Who has that? And my husband, who can eat anything, said it was great. And if great food and service weren't enough, they have a large space dedicated to gallery space. What a treat. If you're on Vashon, this is a lovely way to spend an evening. Thank you Hardware Store staff.

I would like to have given this place a better rating but stuff happened. We were there for Thanksgiving, beautiful setup, blown away by the incredible floral arrangement on the bar...food tasted incredible, nice staff. We mainly went because my husband checked in advance because I am vegetarian. They had a tofu alternative instead of turkey but when the bill came it was not included in the buffet price, $7 for a tiny portion which bummed me out. The real issue was...I was violently Ill for the next 2 days. I even avoided the ceaser salid because of anchovies. I am a vegetarian because of a genetic disease, doesn't kill me but makes me real sick. Sad because I really liked the place.

I think they have outdoor seating too but haven't really experienced that yet. Great coffee and delicious food. The server takes time to make sure you're getting exactly what you desire - modifying menu items to meet dietary constraints. The buckwheat pancakes with blueberries were exactly what I was craving. All of the ingredients are noticeably fresh. We enjoyed the food and the artwork.

Good food, small menu. Nice ambiance if a little loud. Very little, if anything, of three original hardware store left. They have a dedicated fryer for their gluten free food and they proudly say they have a dedicated chef for the gluten free food as well. My wife is gluten intolerant and loved the fish and chips. The burger was adequate but nothing to write home about. If i find myself on the island again i will definitely stop by.

I got the fish and chips, which were excellently battered and fried (although this fish could have been salted more). The fries are amazing, especially the truffle Parmesan fries; they’re plenty truffle-y but well balanced with the rosemary and parsley, and the aioli pm the side is amazing! I tried my mother in law’s chanterelle burrito, and it was outstanding! A great balance of flavors that accentuated the chanterelles without losing the other ingredients. This would be my first choice of restaurant next time I’m on Vashon!

Decent place for Vashon but didn't seem to be anything special. I think it's heavily based on the food you order. The clam chowder was thin, but flavorful. The fish tacos were disapointing, to say the least. The amount of fish is tiny, and with just two it doesn't hit hard. I'd recommend spending a tad more at Wally's in Des Moines for much more desirable fish tacos in quality and quantity. Overall this place was okay, but nothing special.

Got to reunite with an old friend today that happened to be on the island and we decided to have lunch here. Great atmosphere and service! We ate at the bar. I can't speak for my friends meal but mine was excellent! I had their whiskey sour which is made with Woodford Reserve whiskey, lemon, lime, cherry juice, and maple syrup. Really tasty! I also ordered the Red Flannel Benedict. It's done with house made corned beef with beets, poached eggs, house made hollandaise, and a side of potatoes. I was really surprised at how tasty their corned beef was with the beets! Super tasty. The only drawback to this dish was the chef over cooked the eggs slightly. So no runny yolk for me sadly. Our server was Great! She kept our drinks filled and was amazingly patient with us as we kept our seats for near 3 hours with all our catching up. 4 stars for me on this one. The only reason it's not 5 is the over cooked eggs. Had it been any other dish I probably would have not cared. But being an eggs Benedict, runny yolk is paramount to the dish. Its an honest mistake that can be easily fixed tho which is why I plan on coming back every time I go to Vashon Island! Highly recommend!!!

Food was so tasty. Had the fish with truffle french fries. We were a bit put off by the wait situation. We arrived at 5:25 and were told 15 to 20 minutes and the gal told us she would call my husband's cell, so we offered our number. We went back at 6:00 since we hadn't heard and checked with her and she told us it would be 25 minutes. A bit disappointing since we were trying to keep a tired and hungry toddler occupied. But she luckily got us seated after a while outside and we sat down at about 6:20. Our meals were great. We loved the pulled pork, fish and grilled chicken from the kids menu.

The children's menu is incredible. 2 pieces of cod, with a small ramican of fries for $5.50! I've always loved the atmosphere. Enjoyable ambiance, great daily specials for breakfast. I recommend the donuts. Some beautiful photography lines the hallway, leading to the bathroom. Showcasing a local artist for a month or so, at a time. The images were mostly South Dakota, The infamous Wall, where the Lakota had fleed from their 'reservation' which was ever shrinking. Before the army caught up with them at the massacre of 'wounded knee'.

My 5 year old son and I took a Ferry from Tacoma and a short drive into town. We needed some lunch and we stopped here. I got the fish and ships, Logan just wanted fries (once again 5 years old).
