Reviews of Regent Bakery & Cafe

Best Chinese style fried wings in the Cap Hill area I’ve crossed upon so far. Beef and broccoli also up to par, and certainly don’t pass up the Beef Chow-Fun. you can certainly taste that each dish is decently prepared with simple yet fresh ingredients, seasoning are also there but not overwhelming.
Would definitely visit again and happy to found this joint within blocks of my residency.

I've been going to Regent for 18 years now since they were in their Factoria location! I've always loved the flavor of their cakes and it has been great to see them expand to multiple locations. We ordered the Swiss chocolate and fruit cake for our engagement party last weekend and everyone loved the cakes!! I really appreciated the staff working with us to write our initials in a font we like on the cake--it added a personal touch! Love Regent and will keep coming back
Matthew
Wonderful hand made Chinese food, and amazing bakery treats. A strange combination that ends up being an awesome experience.
James Woodard
Super cute spot. Friendly staff/service. Beautiful baked goods!
Sonja Baron
Really love stopping here at night for drinks and dessert. Love the cake selection!!! You can order whole cakes for events too. Also enjoy going for happy hour, great drink prices and service.
Evan Schreiber
I’ve been here a couple times for happy hour (5-7pm) and dinner. The portions are good sizes for the price, and the food is pretty tasty. The service is always friendly, and the food has always come out incredibly fast. One order of fried rice (we like it with shrimp) is definitely enough for two people to share, which we like to do along with a couple drinks from the happy hour menu. I would recommend going here for a quick bite or even just for happy hour. The whole business has a restaurant seating area, bakery, and bar area.

Fantastic bakery! Boba could use work but pastries are super amazing.
Boba is super inconsistent with clumps of boba that is a mix of chewy and soft versus firm. They give a ton of boba too. However it is sweet, which is nice. Some boba is great and some boba is pretty bad so it can be hit or miss with each sip.
Hong Kong Milk Tea - strong tea flavor, definitely more authentic and lighter sweetness by default. Also a decent amount of ice but not sure if you can adjust as it's not really a boba shop.
Red Bean Mochi - loved how this mochi stretched. Red bean inside was also very generous as you'll immediately get some on a first bite and you don't have to dig for the filling in the middle. Coconut flakes on top add an interesting flavor, but I enjoyed it while I think others may not be as open.
Cream Puff - they did not skimp on the cream and it was custard-like. Fluffy even at the end of the day, a must get!
Eclair - like a cream puff with a chocolate top so value wise I'd rather three cream puffs. Tasty but not sure I'm a big fan at the price point in comparison to the other pastries.
Egg Tart - nearing the end of the day, they weren't as fresh obviously but they were still tasty. If you come later, I highly recommend taking them home to bake a little bit and let the egg custard rise otherwise it may be flat.
SELEUŠS Chocolates
just tried their Dan-Dan noodles with the new chili oil sauce and its delicious! they also have a fantastic selection of cakes and pastries!

Lunch special was ok. High price for portion of food for Chinese food. Chicken in the dish resembled fish: flat, rectangular shaped, & soft. Not to my liking. Egg roll was probably prepared earlier as it wasn't hot upon presentation. The Representative would run back and forth between the diner and the bakery register. Often causing diners to wait longer than needed for their bill. Egg drop soup was small portioned and required a bit of seasoning on my end. All in all, it was a "ok" experience.

We are huge fans of this place as it summarizes our favorite things into one single place: cakes, drinks, bakeries, authentic foods, great service, and a quiet atmosphere.
- Cakes: Make sure to try their sponge cake rolls! It's one of the few places that makes fresh, fluffy cake rolls.
- Bakeries: They have some really high-quality toasts and savory bread which we enjoy.
- Foods: We like pretty much all items on the menu, but the Deep Fried Tofu with Garlic is our favorite, especially when dining in.
Mary Lynn Bryant
I have only gone here for take away bakery items. It's my friend's favorite spot. The mango cake and mango mousse are so delicious that they are all I've gotten. I want to try more of their items with different kinds of fruit next time. The space is cute and the staff are adorable and friendly. I'd like to try it for lunch or dinner sometime.
Jay Co
Super fresh Chinese food. Chow Mein is tremendous along with hot & sour soup. The chili dumplings are my favorite!
Sam Mullis
I wish I lived next door to this bakery. We tried a Coconut cream roll, a Custard roll, and A Napolean. All excellent, but the Nepoleon was the favorite. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
nandani madhukar
My experience is only related to the mango mousse cake that my friend got me! It was so light and so delicious. I would love to come to Seattle again just to try this cake again!
Prateek Sharma
One of the best cakes, and pastries in the Seattle area. You can't go wrong with Regent. My favorite is the fruit cake. Tiramisu is another classic. A friend recommended Mango Mousse for the next time.
Ryan Pierce
Absolutely the best Hong Kong bakery around Seattle. Great buns, great food and drinks.
Jean Pocket
Lovely little Asian bakery with fluffy Japanese Milk Bread and other desserts in similar style.
I loved Japanese hot dog pastry in country, and the ones here at Regent (when in stock) are good!
Tried the real food take-out once (covid era) and it was quick and sufficiently good.
Raecine Meza
Our meal was excellent, and I ordered many pastries to take home as well. Savory ham and cheese rolls as well as desserts like cream puffs and coconut tarts.
janice white-cheese
The dessert was great the breads was great the food no taste
John Lee
Great customer service- I ordered them a while back on a food delivery app and they called me to let me know that they didn't have one of the items I ordered I asked if I could have a replacement item and the woman let me order a different item but it was like $5 more expensive than the one I had originally ordered and she couldnt adjust the order total but still included it anyway. Long story short- I need to go back here to give them $5 next time I am in the area :)

Their cakes are amazing! One of my favorites for birthday cakes! I love their mousse cakes - both Mango and Strawberry cakes are delicious! 😋😋
Craig Miller
I love to bring their cakes to parties or events with friends. They're light and airy, but full of flavor and not overly sweet. Their regular cakes are closer to an angel food than any other layer cake I have experienced. My favorite is the fresh strawberry cake - think strawberries and cream with a fluffy vanilla sponge. Always a hit!
Joe Bernstein
The food is great, portions are large, and prices are inexpensive. My only complaint is that the hours are strange, especially considering their cafe and bakery offerings would be more appealing in the morning. But they're a neighborhood favorite and deservedly so.
Emi
I got a Chocolate Mousse cake here. It was AMAZING. So silky and smooth, light and airy, and not overly sweet. I couldn't help but scrape the chocolate off the plastic around the cake it was THAT good. Reasonably priced. I think it was about $40 for my 8" cake. Soooooo worth it. Definitely getting all my cakes here from now on.
C. Nixon
This place is amazing. It is expensive, but worth it for some genuinely homemade dumplings in their soup. They are clean, friendly, and make some delicious cuisine, deserts included! They have a great variety of cakes, and menu items to choose from.
Diana Pierce
I loved the food and the staff. We had a small but lively, after wedding, celebration and they were so nice to us. The desserts were gorgeous and melt in your mouth quality. I can't wait to go back!
Paris Sakas
I manage rentals in the building & find myself having to hang out for 1-2hrs in between appointments, so I've had a chance to try this place out at various times (10am, 2pm, 6pm). The food & service is always great. Love their bakery items too!!! They make you feel at home, add special accommodations for me to work on my laptop & keep my water glass full with a smile. They care about your experience and are the sweetest people.
Foster Chen
I want to give this place 5 stars. I really do. But with them cutting lunch hours, it's hard to ever get to them. They are the only Chinese place in the area. Please expand back out to lunch!!! :(
But aside from that, they do have a considerably diverse menu for a CH asian restaurant, though not so diverse considering a large full fledged canto restaurant you'd find in IDistrict or BVU
Abhishek Malyala
Love their fresh fruit cake. This location is more convenient for people like me who stay in Seattle, though I've used their Bellevue location a couple of times too.
It is very difficult to find parking most of the time and Capitol Hill traffic is really bad.
I've also had other snacks here, but because of the traffic and parking , now I only go here for the Cake - fresh fruit or strawberry cake are the best, though I also like their coffee flavored Mocha cake.
Kriya Velasco
Food was great! We came right at the end of happy hour and wanted dimsum but were informed that it was only available in the morning (boo!). Nonetheless, for the price, the food was really good. Service was a bit slow on the day that we came. There were three people working the bar, bakery, waiting tables, and greeting people up front, so I'm assuming that we came on a short-staffed day. Our waiters did apologize for the delay in the food. Entree was delicious and was able to take home about half for another meal. Definitely recommended.
Peter W
As a Chinese person who grew up in Vancouver, BC this place has the best coconut cream buns!
Many of the other dessert buns are also good and the bubble tea was decent.
Sungjun Kim
They open early (10am) on Thursdays and Fridays, so it's a great option for late breakfast or early lunch in those days. The food tastes great, portions are good.
Didn't try many, but they were all good: Singapore noodles (you can choose spiciness)
Shu-mai
Mongolian beef
Cream puffs
Eclairs
Michelle Messmer
Good coffee, excellent looking desserts. Very modern styled setting. We came here for dim sum; each dish was very tasty and affordable. The sticky rice was probably my favorite - just slightly sweet and savory. The rice based wontons/wraps they use for their shumai and dumplings was also very tasty - perfectly textured, and a nice change from the usual. Only complaint is that the dim sum menu is very small, maybe a dozen items, and only one or two might be vegetarian. Each dish also leaned toward the savory, with either pork or seafood, and no fruit or sweet red bean containing options.
Sitara Marin
I come here about 3x week as crazy as that sounds. My kids love the salt and pepper chicken wings that we eat on our way to swim class. The food is fresh and consistently good. Not mind blowing but definitely worth it. Most people order take out and the restaurant is usually empty.
Jesse Shefford
We had a tasty and satisfying lunch at this place early on a Friday afternoon, and I was surprised how many empty tables there were. It is the best Chinese restaurant for miles, and the dining room is very pleasant. Give them a try. It's a good place.
Je an
Yum yum to the pineapple taro bun! Have tried many taro buns from many bakeries and all lack actual taro flavor and are either too bland or too sweet. This filling actually tasted like taro and not too sweet.
Jessica Peralta
For those ordering for delivery: So worth it! Wonton soup is plentiful with their wontons and napoleon cake is my favorite cake that I've repeatedly bought.
Matthew Clark
Just got our doordash delivery. Meal was still warm. Got the general tso's chicken and beef chow mein. The food honestly looked unappetizing when I first opened and served the food, but it was delicious. Taste was good quality and neither overcooked or undercooked. Broccoli that came with the general tso's was delicious as well.
Andrew Sue
Grateful to have this chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Kung Pao chicken is fantastic as is the ma po tofu. the chicken lettuce wraps are great if you are looking for a delicious low carb option. In the fall, they have the best moon cakes for autumn festival, and check out the pineapple moon cake if you don't usually like moon cakes. It tastes like taiwanese pineapple cake.
Ashley Ellerson
I believe they were short-staffed last night, and even though it was a little irritating for our group to have waited so long for servers to take our orders (happy hour ends at 7, most of us had been there for at least 30 minutes, and a server came around 6:50 to take our order and even forgot some folks), the staff was nice and apologized for the delays and still offered us the reduced pricing a little bit after 7 to get all of our orders.
I enjoyed the pot stickers and crispy wontons, as well as my two cocktails (they weren't that strong, but still tasty). My friends found the fried calamari "interesting" and not really what they were expecting as they eat fried calamari often enough, but they didn't dislike it. Also the popcorn chicken didn't seem like it was deep fried long enough (the chicken itself was cooked thoroughly fyi), so the breading wasn't really crispy.
I plan to visit again to try some of their main dishes and will go when it's not too packed (or hoping they have enough workers) for happy hour.
Andrew Lingbloom
Always great food & service! The ambiance is nice for sitting down, but there's also to-go or the bakery for something quick.
The waiter was efficient and nice, and the food came rather quickly. I've never been disappointed with their food, and it can be quite healthy (though there are heavier options on the menu too! ;-) )
Alan Lamon
I have eaten here for lunch and bought several cakes to take to parties. First off the place is definitely a hidden gem. It's not well known nor advertised about on the Hill. They have excellent service, and always are warm and inviting.
The cakes are amazing. Some of the most creative and tasty treats I have had in some time. I took one to a part and no one wanted to cut it. They all thought it was a great work of art. When we finally did cut into it, like a slice of heaven. Not sugary and overpowering like you might expect, just the right combination of flavors.
For lunch I took a friend there. We live in the same building just two blocks away. I was floored when he confessed "Wow, I never knew this was here". We sat down for the lunch special. I got the General Zao chicken fresh veggies and brown rice. for under $10. How does that happen? There are few place you can get a sit down lunch for that. Fresh and flavorful.
I would recommend this to anyone on the Hill looking for a good Lunch place.
Marcia Arliss
We had a wonderful experience at Regent. I took my friend there for her birthday. We both loved the food. Being a New Yorker it's hard to get good Chinese food that's better then NY.... But I felt it was as good as any NY Chinese restaurant..
Pallas Wang
The food is not exceptional. The ambience is quite good though. This place is located at a spot without internet connection. In terms of signal, I usually only have one or two bars, so not great either. Service could be a little inconsistent, but overall a decent restaurant to dine in. I usually enjoy my visits here.
let's react
Fantastic food great atmosphere customer service outstanding can't wait to visit again😋 …
HP Shirk
Not a typical resturant as part of it is bakery and the rest good tables for dinning. The menu was perfect, our meal great and then we took home pastries and all I can say is yummy. We will be back.
Peter D
Amazing cakes and pastries, very cool staff, and the Chinese food menu is on point! Very nice family running the biz too!
Luc Poon
Delicious food! Highly recommend the Fu Chow Fried Rice and Duck Vermicelli Noodles, among many other tasty offerings. Restaurant is laid back and staff are friendly. Regent was our destination of choice for a take-out Chinese New Year banquet, complete with nin go (traditional new year's cake)!
FRANKLIN W
Great food and service, and not terribly busy either, though I believe I went during the week. For fans of the video game Portal, the cake in the game was based off a cake that is made here! The cake is not a lie, and was delicious.
Quinn Bracelen
Got seated right away, water as soon as we sat down. Drinks and appetizer came quickly. $5 cocktails and $3 draught during happy hour (4-7pm) were great deals! Got the bbq pork fried rice and bbq pork chow main, both were HUGE portions, and only $9.95 each! I'm serious, like half a baby watermelon in size of food. Had plenty to eat there, still had tons to take home. Two drinks, appetizer, two meals, and total was $36 omg. Highly recommend.
Dana Prouty
Good cakes and pastries to go but bad Chinese food if you're looking for a sit down meal. The vermicelli was quite good but all the stirfries started tasted mushy and bland.
Service is very slow mid week.
Jesse Dannenbring
Great place, love the cakes. They have good standard Hong Kong style fare. You won't be disappointed unless your goal is to evaluate service. Food = good, everything else who cares?
Vi Potal
Liked happy hour that was all day for pride!
Thank you for the jello shots! Lol
International Petsitter
Definitely the best take-out Chinese option in the area. The food is great and they give big portions. I seriously don't know why this restaurant isn't full to overflowing all the time, unless all the other customers are takeout regulars like me!
Abhinav Sharma
Love the birthday cakes here. A number of flavors are readily available. Also like the choice of breads / rolls here
Patrick Conlan
The bakery is very good - great choices. Competent Chinese restaurant, good if you've not got time to head down to the International District, or don't want the fancier/pricier options nearby.
Parsa Shams
This place has great cakes that are fluffy and not too sweet. Good selection of tea. It's very quiet on weekend mornings. Good place to grab something sweet after brunch!
Jiaxing Bao
I ordered a fruit birthday cake. The taste is well balanced, and I like the fruit layer. The price is cheaper than a bakery at the international district.
Jamie Eisenhart
Regent has the best Chinese food on the hill. Even my wife's 1st generation Chinese immigrant parents love it. The baked goods are awesome too!
Natalia Farr
Great dessert selection! I love that you can get slices of a bunch of different cakes and have a variety.
Seth F
Finally found good Chinese in Seattle! The flavors here are excellent, the chicken isn’t dry like most Chinese restaurants I’ve tried in Seattle, and the portions are quite large
Rob McGuire
The food seems high quality, and suspiciously delicious (i.e., does it contain MSG?) Huge selection of dishes, drinks, and baked goods. Lots of room also. My only complaint is that the service is sometimes terrible: Sometimes no one even acknowledges you when you arrive, and it can take a while for anyone to take your order.
Akhil Gudimella
We order cakes from Regent almost every month. We just need a reason to eat the yumminess. <3 Even our office parties have cakes ordered from here.
Lynn Snickets
They have the best bbq humbau. It is usually quiet and options for to go, great menu. They are just really tasty. We go out of our way to go.
Steve L
I grew up in Toronto where they have awesome Chinese food and I just had a dim sum place (har gow) and an egg tart. This place is legit!! Pretty fancy which is weird but a nice touch
Varun Jain
Great place for occasional pastries and to order birthday cakes. You can usually find cakes on the spot for a birthday you forgot buy cake for. This is branch of the Regent bakery in Bellevue.
Kimx Stacy
Great Chinese food and fresh pastries worth Asian inspired newbies like Green Tea Mousse Cake. Delicious!
CY Peng
Love the cakes, especially the Napoleon!
Dining atmosphere is also nice. Plan to try their food soon.
Younes Nouri
Best thing about Regent is their cakes, they are light & not as sweet as you find them in other places. Don't miss out on the mango cake!!
Jamie Prins
My favorite Chinese food on the Hill; everyone assumes it's just a bakery. Favorite pastry is the triple taro bun. The taro is also fresh and not canned!
Kristen Sporbert
My coworkers consistently ask for cakes from this bakery. They're always delicious and will always order from here. Thank you for being awesome!
Bryan Lip
I wish I knew about this place sooner - amazing food. The bubble tea with pastries and Mongolian chicken are amazing. The go to chinese food place on cap hill.
John Feng
The bubble tea was quite good,a good balance of sweetness and milk. Inside is clean and worm, but some what a little bit noisy for a tea house.
Super Argo
OMG, THE FOOD HERE IS TO DIE FOR. SEATTLE NATIVE SINCE 1969 AND THIS PLACE IS AMAZING WELCOME ADDITION TO SEATTLE.
Aileen Hannah
Singapore noodles were delicious, but dim sum was very bland. Staff were very helpful in accommating my dietary needs.
Riddell Williams Group
From the salt and shrimp rice to the fluffy cakes and bubble tea this is perfect space for dining in or for a takeout night.
Rabi Asghar
They serve dim sum here at specific times of the day, but probably the best I'll have in capital hill. The hinese food is also the best in the area.
Nicole Kihara
Delicious pastries and their food is pretty decent as well. Unfortunately their bubble tea isn't great but it is the only place to get bubble tea in capitol hill :(
John Pentakalos
Great variety of classic Chinese pastries at a reasonable price.
Allen Dearborn
Real original taste in flavor just a breath of fresh air when it comes to pastries I'm glad they're in our community they're doing us a good service
Vincent Chau
Great Chinese food. Might be a little more expensive than what you would find in the International District, but it's worth it!
Kyle Rogers
My only gripe is that I didn't try this place any sooner. Delicious food, generous portions, great service, comfortable atmosphere!!
Vamshi Kalwa
Got mango mousse cake for a birthday and it was delicious
Mradula Prabhu
An upscale Chinese restaurant and bakery. Great variety of dishes in the menu. Ambience is nice for a date.
林莉婷
Roasted duck is awesome! Don't forget to try the cake, love the fresh mango one.
Serina Gee
The only place I know of in Cap Hill to get cheap Chinese pastries (especially late night). Lots of variety, and I think the food itself is ok.
Heather Skeehan
Great Chinese food like the stuff I grew up on - Americanized and tending toward sauces. And ending with a French desert is fun.
James Parrott
Beautiful space, excellent location. The food was great, especially the calamari, and same with the service.
Shriram Paramesh
Try their eggless fruit cake. It is fantastic, you may need to order it one day before to make it eggless.
Bhanu Agarwal
A little pricey but absolutely delicious cakes and pastries. Highly recommend
Roya
You haven't had a real chocolate cake, until you've tried a Regent Swiss chocolate cake!
Cindy Li
The bread is a bit pricey, but it's good. The food and drinks sold are average~

They have the best cakes!
Jon Persson
Really good Asian food, good winelist too.
G Haynes
I took my friend there I didn't order anything but she said she liked the egg foo young
Katie Stansell
Food was delicious and not terribly expensive for Capitol Hill. Service could have been a little friendlier.
Jose Wu
Not the same as in Redmond. Much more westernized menu vs. the more local tradional menu Redmond offers.
Rhonda Rodgers
Everything was perfect great service and the food was extraordinary.
