Busy spot for a Tuesday happy hour! Nice ambiance, decent drinks, food okay, fair price, portion is light, friendly staff. Overall, 75%. Would I go there again in the future? Yes, only if it's a decision based on location / convenience. I wouldn't go just for their food or drinks.

This is the place for you if you are looking to get rid of some of the work stress tin the weekdays. They have some umaaaaaaazing cocktails, most of the cocktails in the menu were good. Here are some of our favorites starting with the best one : Republic Old Fashioned, Re:Vival, dealers Manhattan, Tiny Bubbles, The Big P, and the Sky Bound plane. Their old fashioned was refreshingly good! And the ambiance adds to the overall experience. We did get dinner here but tried some of their appetizers. BBQ wings was good and would recommend that. Grilled Asparagus and bread was nice too. You may have to wait in the evenings better to make a reservation. They have free parking.

Great service and ambiance. Dim lit new american bar with good food, even with a late night menu. Drinks can be hit or miss but they'll gladly make you a new drink if it doesn't come out good. On the pricier end for what is served.

We were in 7 (colleagues) and had a very good experience. Starters were great (fast to arrive) and tasty. I then took a main dish (seafood pasta) everything was great except a shell clam was not fresh and tasted awful. Apart from that great place!

Really quite in my opinion if someone is looking for that kind of vibe then definitely a good place to check out. Probably the best for bringing a date when you both are looking to have a few drinks and talking. The music is quite so you're able to hear the other person but not the place I'll be going again.

Friendly service. Food and drinks came out quickly. I really enjoyed my balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts. My friend liked her risotto which had a hint of citrus. The old fashioned was reasonably priced and tasted great. I liked their whiskey selection that I saw posted above the bar. I would come back for that next time

Five stars for service and food. It is quite loud and busy in here, so I don’t recommend for an outing where you want to be able to hear everyone in conversation, but other than that, it is really a great place to go. Good bubbly wine and dessert too.

The wild mushroom risotto was the best risotto I have had in my life. The jerk chicken was also very delicious and the charcuterie board was alright. Beautiful atmosphere and a great location. It was busy and we got seated very quickly. The service was very slow and it took a long time to get food but I understand people get busy. I'd definitely go here again to try all their other food. ♡

Unlike many other vibey trendy downtown Seattle places, this one has superb food for the money you pay. Try the pork belly Mac. It hits the spot and is even better the next day

The wild boar bolognese was hands down the delicious. I wanted to bring home leftovers but I didn't have any - it was just that good. The staff was great, and we loved the ambiance. The bread pudding was also really tasty and I loved the crispy bits of it. I'd absolutely go back again for both items.

Despite having to return a dish because it was absolutely not what I expected, the food was very good. We had the steak bites (definitely try these), beecher Mac n cheese, the fries were great and the service was very friendly and helpful. The dish I thought I would like was the fried chicken sandwich.. I was expecting a Buffalo sauce and it was more like a very strangely flavored jerk chicken that was black pepper tasting.. Also my friend never got served his sandwich, so that was a bit of a bummer. We were a larger group so sometimes it happens but this spot would be great for a date night!

The atmosphere is techy but the food is amazing. The menu is limited but that which they prepare is unbelievable. Pork Chop and Greens are damn amazing. These guys make a Steak worth eating again and again. This place could stand the test of time. Change nothing!

TLDR: If you are looking for an incredible date night, this is the spot. The service we received was top notch, without having to pay for Michelin prices. Came here for a date night 20 Jan ‘23. Incredible service: Example 1: Physical menus were presented without asking, no need to be bogged down by QR codes, scrolling through a menu on a tiny screen. The menus were fresh and beautiful. Example 2: We mentioned we’d be sharing everything, and so our pasta came in 2 separate bowls and everything else was presented family style. Food came out in courses (veg first, pasta second, steak third, then dessert) which we love. Example 3: Service was quick, professional, and friendly. We did not ever have to ask for more water, more napkins, extra plates, or anything. This helped our date have a natural flow. Great food and drinks: brussel sprouts, seafood pasta, steak, fries, pistachio ice cream were wonderful. The gin cocktail was good. Nice ambiance: dimly lit, perfect for a date night, with a small candle on the table.

Great place! Reservations are recommended as the place is very popular. Update (March 2023): came here for the second time in 3 years. Still a five star ⭐️! The energy this place offers is incredible. The food was impeccable as usual. We ordered a large charcuterie board, Brussel sprouts, clams, wild prawns and crispy tofu. Amazing! The only area for improvement was the charcuterie board could use a bit more cheese and less pickled vegetables.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Charcuterie spread had some of the best cheese I've ever tasted and the the wild boar bolognese was incredible! Everything our table tried was outstanding. Combine the food with their trendy music, full bar and TVs, and this is a place I would go back to as much as possible.

This place is the type that feels classy but has a relaxed vibe to it. COVID has forced them to change things up, and boy did they deliver their menu has condensed and their outdoor area has been outfitted with large picnic tables and umbrellas. The seating area is large and you truly feel like you are off by yourself, without feeling like you won’t be taken care of. They have strong lights and an outdoor station for the team to get water and stage and the rest is brick wall and murals. Our waitress was fantastic, paying attention to empty glasses and being on top of our progress in the meal to ensure we weren’t waiting around. The food and drinks are fancy and do carry a matching price tag, so be warned, you will spend some money. We got the braised octopus linguini and the burger, as well as a Moscow mule and an old fashioned, and some sourdough with roasted garlic to start. The sourdough was from local bakery Macrina and thus was incredibly delicious. It was salted and we ordered the roasted garlic that came as a massive clove that we could dig individual pieces from and spread on our bread. The braised octopus was flavorful, with a Smokiness that set it off with the rest of the flavors held in the dish. It was also tender, not chewy, which is difficult to do, so hats off to the chef. The burger was ordered medium but came out more medium well. Normally, I would have said something, but it was still incredible moist and full of flavor and not dry and chewy like many medium well and above burgers. It had mushrooms and arugula as well as gruyere, garlic shallot, and a wonderful aioli. And the fries, some of the best I’ve had at any restaurant. The drinks were good, nicely poured but pretty average as far as drinks go.

Great place to have lunch or happy hour in groups or as a couple. Staff were courteous and polite. I would have given them 5-stars but they forgot to reserve a table when we had booked a team outing days ahead. Easy to get to by tram, bus, ride share or bike. Close to the Amazon campus. Parking isn’t easy to find during the weekday. Prices were okay for the area.

This place is awesome! We came here for dinner and the place was full of awesome music and great atmosphere. The appetizers are fantastic, the sampler dish was one of the best starters I had in the USA. The cocktails were great and the service was fast and friendly. We will definitely come back here again.

Love this place. Had some great food and drinks while sitting at the bar. The bartender, Riley, was fantastic. All dietary restrictions were accommodated. Ask for some zucchini bread, it is some of the best I have ever had... even better than My zucchini bread... and I consider myself a master baker.

The food was actually really good, the portion for cod is a bit small compare to price, but the flavor were really good. Dessert chocolate mousse come with an orange flavored coffee which is impressive. The general environment is too noise of what you thinking about is to enjoying an upscale dinner.

They have a pretty decent late night happy hour menu, so it’s a good option for late night food. I ordered the happy hour burger and was very impressed. The burger patty was thick and juicy and cooked Medium rare, and the fries are good as well. They also have a huuuge whiskey menu here, and a nice selection of whiskey based cocktails. We tried a couple of Japanese whiskeys that seemed reasonably priced.

My wife and I stopped in on a busy Friday night. We sat at the bar and were met with a warm welcome and great service. We ordered a bottle of wine and split a charcuterie. Amazing bar, very friendly staff, quick service. The best part is the whisky selection and whisky based cocktails. To get the 5th star re:public has to up the food game. We tried the pork buns, wings and fries they were all good but didn't have that wow to it. I believe in you re:public you can get the fifth.

Delighted to try out this night spot for drinks and bar bites when we found the food truck lines waaay too long at a recent nearby festival. Received a warm welcome from the host, ensconced ourselves at a table of the "patio" section and enjoyed perusing the menu. Ordered a spot of gin and also Pimms Cup for our adult beverages. The kitchen was out of the prime rib sliders so we tried a different meaty dish. Also got the brussel sprouts, which were divine! Crunchy, slightly charred outside and just done inside... nicely flavored. Great snack. Service was incredibly attentive, even after we paid the check. Atmosphere somewhat dark and a bit noisy from happy chattering patrons, but that was okay. The patio is dog friendly. Fun seeing dogs and owners matching themselves up, as it were. Apparently Republic is a great date night venue too...just an observation! Dress code: anything from dressy to funky to elegant...many styles here. Smart casual, I guess it is called. Good food, kind, personable service, elegant casual atmosphere makes Republic a "go to" spot for reliable relaxation.

The sign outside says Restaurant and Bar, however it should only reflect BAR as Republic is strictly 21 and over. My wife and I found this out after being asked to leave because we brought our 4 month old daughter who was sleeping in her stroller...unfortunate for us seeing as this is where my wife and I first met, change of vibes here.

Great food - steak frites with grilled brussel sprouts were terrific. Good beer selection. Great place to go if you want to watch the Seahawks play but the crowd gets a little loud so if you're wanting something more intimate, this ain't the place to go to.

Very cool Whiskey/Bourbon/scotch bar and restaurant. Only had the late night menu but food was delicious but portions are small. Beet salad and steak bites were delicious. Wings were just ok but a bigger portion than other things we tried. Service was slow and waitress was not very friendly. Hostess was great.

A great hang out place for large groups. Good collection of beers and cocktails. But they have limited wait staff which makes is a bit hard for large groups to be taken care of. But nevertheless staff by itself was very cordial and understanding.

The venue was great but food was bland. I had the Pacific Seafood Chowder and it needed some salt and a fair bit of pepper. Other than that, it was nice. It was my first time in the U.S. and was a bit disappointed, since chowder was on my must-have list. Had the Steak Frites for main and again, bland. The was no seasoning on the meat and the frites screamed for a bit of salt. Since the condiments were not available on the table to season yourself, I had to ask the waiter each time. He sort of made me feel bad for asking, as if it is unheard of, to be asking for seasoning. And I am not a salty food lover, but can recognise when something needs it. The iced tea I ordered was not sweet tea, and was told that they dont serve sweet tea in this part of the world. Took one sip and ordered a Coke instead. At least that is universal. Otherwise, three stars for facilitating a great gathering of colleagues.

Went here for a company retreat and had a great time! The table ordered many of the appetizers and each was better than the last. The roasted Brussels sprouts and crispy tofu were two of my favorites. I ordered the seafood pasta and it was delicious, as well as a pretty generous portion. The Paloma cocktail was fresh and flavorful and didn’t skimp on the tequila! Will return again!

I wanted to give a shoutout to the bartenders working at Republic on Friday June 17th! I was part of a 50+ person wedding event who’s post-wedding venue plans fell through. When we arrived with all 50+ guests at 1am, they enthusiastically welcomed us and did there absolute best to serve us (especially catering to the bride and groom) until closing time at 2am. They were fun, kind and didn’t look phased by the inpouring of our huge crowd. So, thank you! We will be back!

A pleasant if unremarkable spot along Westlake in Seattle's burgeoning South Lake Union neighborhood. re:public has a warm and comfortable aesthetic that's inviting and packs 'em in during the summer months when the windows open on the sidewalk. It's a trendy remodel in an old building with exposed brick and piping. The bar is solid, while the kitchen serves a collection of upscale eats that are good but fairly typical and expected. Like the restaurant. It looks inviting and will suit most people. It's usually full of locals who live and work I. The area, and is often packed during the lunch rush. Nothing is really bad here, but the nothing is memorable either. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if you're in the neighbor, it's a fine choice.

We used to go here often before the pandemic. Going back a year later, they've really made the most of the space, and we felt very safe. Drinks are always good, and nice choices of food. The chicken strips are gluten free, but rather overdone and a bit tasteless. Defining crunch. And they charge for dipping sauces!?! Who does that?? It was early in a Friday night, but the service was hit or miss. Hoping it gets back to pre-pandemic goodness.

This place is very up to date and fun for younger parents. We brought our two young boys and had an amazing time. The service was awesome and even got some unexpected free goodies! I overall loved the vibe! Definitely will have to go back when we come to Seattle next time.

This place has a nice whiskey list with an entire board to choose from. We tried a couple of the cocktails and they were well made. We had a number of appetizers including the shrimp. They were pretty good. I had the seafood pasta. It was a bit of work to get through all of the shells from the mussels and clams but that was expected. The dish was pretty good.

Pros: the entire menu. Seriously it was everything I look for in a great menu and everything was SO good. The buffalo sauce on the wings was top notch and the chowder knocked my socks off. The clam linguini was lacking in flavor but was flush with seafood so definitely worth the value. Cons: the outdoor seating is literally just an alley with rickety tables. Honestly I totally understand having to have pop-up outdoor seating because of COVID so they shouldn’t be faulted for this, especially when the inside seating is so swanky. Can’t wait to go back!

re:public is a great little restaurant in the South Lake Union area that is known for being one of the better whiskey/bourbon places around. Their food is delicious, and it's normal to get a bunch of sides and splitting with everyone because they are all great, especially the brussel sprouts. They have a long list of whiskeys from all over the world, and at an actual decent price considering the area that they are in. The service here is great, very friendly servers and are always there for a recommendation for a drink. Would definitely come here for happy hour after work if you are in the area.

I was there for a late lunch so the place was very quiet. Nice atmosphere, quick friendly service and my chicken and brie sandwich was excellent. Complimented with bacon (you had me at brie but that seals the deal) mustard greens and carmelized pear which balanced the richness of the cheese well. A bit spendy but rent in this neighborhood can't be cheap.

Was asked to host a team event for 60 people at the last minute. We have every dietary restriction you can imagine, and plenty of picky people so finding a venue that was in budget an accommodating can be a challenge. Then I emailed the team at Re:public and everything came together. Came in to the office today to rave reviews on the event last night from my colleagues. Thank you to Dan and team for taking such excellent care of us; the food was delicious, the drinks kept flowing, and service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely look to come back in the future!

Great foodie hipster place without the hipster pretense. The cocktails are tasty and they have a generous pour. I liked ordering off the appetizer menu and then add a salad to pair. Parking can be tough but the neighborhood is walkable and this place is a tad outside the Cascade Neighborhood epicenter a few blocks east. Casual but stylish decor and ambience rounds out a solid choice for a weekend dinner or business lunch.

The food and drink itself was very good. That said the food took an incredible amount of time to get to us, bot the apps and the main courses. I thought that this was due to the size of our rather large party (12 or so people) but looking around us the other people that got there at the same time with smaller parties had the same timeline.

Sometimes it's quicker to order from the bar than wait for the servers to come to your table, which makes me feel slightly bad that I'm possibly not following the proper etiquette.. One time I was with a group and we had just ordered our second round when I realized I needed to leave w/in 20 mins. I had ordered a shot, and decided I would check how long our drinks were going to take, in case I had to leave before they would arrive. I informed the server about my time constraints and she told me that our drinks would take longer than the time I had left. I cancelled my order, but if I was serving our group ( I have been bartending for 10+ years) I would have asked the bartender for the shot immediately. The rest of the group was sticking around and had the time to wait for their drinks. It irritated me that the server didn't offer to rail my shot, she would have been rewarded for doing so, and I don't think it's that unreasonable to expect that sort of consideration. I am constantly told by guests that they suddenly are in a hurry, and I do all in my power to accommodate them quickly and get them all they require if at all possible. It irked me that I wasn't given that option. Overall the bartenders are skilled, engaging, and knowledgeable, I enjoy their drinks thoroughly, but sometimes the servers are not the most gracious. I've never been treated rudely or unfairly, but it's rare that I feel like my business is valued by the cocktail staff. Granted they usually are busy and hustling, so I have no problem continuing to patronize republic, I just prefer being attended to by the bar staff.

Went here for happy hour on a Wednesday with a group of 10-15. We arrived at 4:30 and there was plenty of room for our big group. House wine was okay, $6, fries were okay, $4, but they asked me if I wanted aioli with them without telling me it would be $2 extra. Not a huge deal but the aioli was not very good - next time I will be opting out since it costs extra. Brussels sprouts were quite good. They graciously split our checks without us having to ask. Overall would come back if others wanted to, but there are far better options for happy hour in this city so my choice would be elsewhere.

I'm torn here. We swung in for happy hour and loved that they had more than just fries and drinks. I'd say 3.5 stars, but rounding down here because two of the three food dishes were disappointing and that's why I came here. Mussels for $11 were great! Love that they came with fries that were great to dip into the spicy broth. 3 pork belly baos for $10 were really sad. They looked great but lacked flavor, sauces and overall depth to them because of it. I ended up just giving it to my bf to finish because he's a dumpster and will eat everything. I love baos, but I just couldn't do these. Roasted cauliflower for $5 was also really underwhelming. Overall just soggy like it was sitting under the heat lamp in oil way too long. For beverages, their bourbon, grapefruit and honey drink for $7 was really nice.

I went here on a Saturday night and walked in right behind a large (~30) wedding group. It was like they were not even there. Service was prompt and professional. The menu is pricy but you get what you pay for in quality. The blackened ahi and prime rib sliders were both delicious. Their house old fashioned was good and their bourbon/whiskey/scotch selection is impressive. If you want to save a few bucks their late night happy hour menu looked very good.

South Lake Union landmark, one of the oldest and most original bars in the neighborhood. Menu is typically Seattle, doesn't change much. A little stilted and greasy, but enjoyable and great to share. Drinks are fun, well made. Atmosphere is good. I mean, it's all Amazon employees... So there's that. But if you're in the neighborhood it's not a bad option.

The outdoor seating of re:public is great. Since its in SLU which has lesser crowd than other areas, this place feels safer in the time of covid. We went on a sunday eve and the outdoor seating was very spacious, properly covered for seattle weather but open on sides for air flow, and less crowded which made it feel safe. Atmosphere: 4/5. industrial look and good location Drinks: 4/5. mimosas were $6 each and a good ratio of champagne to oj Price: 3/5. portions were average, but prices were about $15 per plate. This is acceptable for SLU. Bathrooms: 2/5. One toilet was clogged. Toilet paper was almost gone, and just resting on a metal pipe on the wall. Stalls had nails for locks. Still better than gas station bathrooms.

Had dinner here a couple nights ago, and was underwhelmed: the charcuterie was okay and the house made pickles were the star of the board, but the portion size was not what I'd expect for the price; the duck and rabbit rillette was rather bland; the prime rib sliders were more like a French dip (thinly sliced and browned throughout, borderline tough); the baguette with roasted garlic was done well. The service was nice and knowledgeable regarding the libations, and the which were reasonably priced. I'd return for drinks, for sure, and would possibly try another dish, but maybe off the entrée menu.

If you come on a weekend it's completely deserted, if Amazon is not hard at work, Republic is like a ghost town, so that would be my one suggestion if you want to have dinner there. It's delicious they've got a huge whiskey selection. You need a reservation during the week but you don't on the weekends

Good spot for a business lunch. The menu is a bit limited but the meals are consistently good. The portions are large. They will split your meal without charge and plate up each "half" nicely. I've enjoyed their reuben, burger, and soup and salad. The Re:public Cob is literally half a head of lettuce with everything else "sprinkled" on top. My friend ordered it and laughed that he thought they would assemble the salad not just provide the ingredients. Have been here for happy hour as well and the usually have a nice red and a tasty IPA to try. Overall, if you don't have to deal with SLU parking and want a nice restaurant for lunch or a post work happy hour, Re:public is a very good option.

A good local craft beer draught selection and fresh farm to table takes on classic pub faire make a visit to Re:public one to remember. The local beers are delicious, especially the Night Owl, one of the best pumpkin beers I've ever had. The duck sliders were fantastic, put the jalapeno slices on to add some spice to your life. The bread was incredible as well. I also really enjoyed the homemade frites though the serving size was immense. Service was also very friendly and checked up often. Everything came out quickly too.

A hipster grotto pub in south lake union, which on a Wednesday night had a few locals, but I hear gets roaring on fri/sat. I did a food crawl here and had some really interesting dishes. The oyster on the half shell was fantastic and the extra dry Prosecco they served is my new favorite--Fantinel. Looking from the street I wouldn't peg it for high quality food, but it surprised me to say the least.
