Reviews of Ray's Boathouse

Ray’s is a must go for seafood in Seattle! The view was just absolutely amazing. I was staring at the water the whole time while munching, trying to take it all in and enjoy the moment! The sablefish was super tender and just melted in my mouth. My picture doesn’t do it justice😂 Another one that I really liked was the fried oysters. It actually went really well with the pork belly, and their juice blended with each other creating a new kind of flavor. Had a great time from before to after sunset!

Great first experience! Our party of 3 sat in the dining area inside, right by the window. The sunset view was beautiful at our table. We got there around 6:30 PM on a Sunday and was seated around 6:45 PM. The upstairs (more casual area) was very noisy compared to the lower dining area. There’s also outdoor seating in the lower dining area.
Service was great and attentive. The food was delicious and would definitely go back. We got 2 entrees and 2 apps including Grilled Wild Alaskan King Salmon, Ray's Pacific Northwest Sablefish, Penn Cove Mussels

Friendly staff, great water views and the food was nicely presented. We started off with the clam chowder and it was creamy with good bits of seafood in it. Perfect for a cold day. I don’t have seafood too often but the salmon was cooked perfectly and the potatoes on the dish had a nice crisp outside. The scallops were also nicely cooked

MY NUMBER ONE ALL-TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!!
I’m not exaggerating when I say Ray’s Boathouse is my favorite restaurant, not just in Seattle, but anywhere. They do everything right!
I celebrate my birthday at Rays every single year, and have been a long-time patron, so this year we decided to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday there as well. After having a bad experience at a different restaurant the night before (on his actual birthday) we knew we had to come to Ray’s to make it right!!
We booked our reservation for about 45 mins before sunset which was perfect timing. Absolutely gorgeous sunny evening in October, and our server was really nice! Our cocktails were amazing, the seared octopus starter was INCREDIBLE - 10/10 recommend trying it! That was both of our favorite dishes the whole evening.
We also got a half salad and some clam chowder to share, before enjoying the wild Alaskan halibut and king salmon. Both super yummy, and large portions.
Of course we had to get a birthday dessert with a candle, so our server recommended the Raspberry Chocolate Verrine which was light and delicate - not too heavy or too sweet, which was perfect alongside our dessert drinks! The Cup of Joe & Burnt Ray, which are both boozy coffees. We really appreciated the hot damp towels to wash our hands after dinner, and the birthday card they left at the table!
Honestly you can’t go wrong at Ray’s Boathouse! The food is always incredible, the view over the water is to die for, the servers are great and they course everything perfectly, the bartenders are skilled, and I love how they use a lot of locally sourced and small batch ingredients!

Wow. It has been a few decades since I last ate here. I just assume a fantastic view means mediocre food. But my gem salad and sable fish were awesome, and the wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. It is a long drive from my home on the Eastside, but I will be back!

I wish they had some of the same offerings as up stairs. They needed a few non-seafood options. The atmosphere, surrounding setting and service were awesome. Enjoyed our dinner out.

I am delighted to dine at Ray's Boathouse during my visit to Seattle. The view is just pleasant and magnificent. Their signature Sablefish Apple wood Grilled Sale Kasu preparation was exquisite and filing. The special shrimp dish we ordered was juicy. Overall we had a great dining experience.

We actually experienced the Cafe portion which is upstairs with outdoor sitting. The food was fantastic. The views were equally as great. Great experience. Highly recommend it.

Very nice dinner at Ray’s. Good food and friendly service. We went Alaskan for our entrees- halibut and king salmon, followed by delicious desserts of crème brûlée and mousse. Nice by the glass wine list too.

Can't rate this place high enough. The upstairs bar is great, the view for the sunset was amazing and the food surpassed them both.
Was there for a friend's birthday, we had a great table, fantastic drinks and all the seafood ordered was fresh and some of the best I've had. Delicious.
