Reviews of Pecos Pit Bar-B-Que (West Seattle)
One of the best BBQ places I have ever been and I love that they have a drive through. The service was amazing so was the food, we got two, 2 meat platters with chicken, hot links, beef & pork plus ribs extra. For sides Potato Backn salad( omg), Smoked Mac & Cheese, Spicy beans & Lays BBQ chips. For dessert Brownie & Chocolate chip cookie, boy never seen my husband finish a cookie this fast haha and absolutely love that the brownie is overly sweetened! Love everything about Pecos so far, will be back soon 🙌🏼
We were on our way to dinner & someone told us to stop by Pecos for the Corn beef Sandwich special it’s only going on in March! I’m so glad we did! Hands down the best Corn Beef Sandwich I’ve ever had! I was stuffed, but could not resist, I ate the whole thing! Please bring this sandwich back again sometime this year! The Mac & cheese was also very good, just saying that is an understatement! Stop by this lil BBQ spot in West Seattle you will be surprised.
I came here probably 5 years ago and wasn't super impressed, but a lot changes over time. The brisket and pulled pork now are excellent, cornbread and Mac were perfect. The hottest sauce could be a bit hotter and not so focused on the more exotic spices inside but it got the job done.
WOW...
Look at this sandwich
I'm impressed
Also, this restaurant is the BEST smelling BBQ restaurant I've ever smelled
Sorry Texas...
Ordered the baked potato with barBQ. It was good. The problems I had with my order may stem from the fact that the employee may not have heard me very well. I was in the drive-thru. The first thing I saw on the menu was "pickles." I asked if they were fried pickles. She said yes. But they are not. She asked me which sauce I wanted but there is no sauce in the bag. Too bad I did not realize this until I was home. 👎
I like the smaller store on SODO because they have desserts that rock. But if you want super tasty and tender BBQ this sister restaurant is very good. Then spicy BBQ beans rock and the cornbread is great.
All meat was so tender.
Great food, friendly and helpful staff, priced right.
That sliced brisket was....melt in the mouth delicious....smallish inside dining area...side gravel parking was well lite, 2 spots next to restaurant are on an incline, careful not to run patrons over between the drive thru and parking spaces.....
My son was visiting from out-of-state and asked where I wanted to go for lunch. I live in Auburn, but worked near Pecos for a few years and never had the chance to stop by. So off we went, and it was a decision neither one of us will ever regret. We arrived as the doors opened, greeted by what I can only imagine Heaven smells like. Rick, our server, treated us like family. He walked us through the menu, explaining how they prepared various items as well as customers preferences. In the end, we both agreed that we should let Rick order for us. My Son had the brisket sandwich and I had the pulled pork. The prices are a little steep, but the food more than made up for it. Good portions kept us both full until diner. If you made me complain about one thing, it would be the Scoville number applied to their 'hot' Que sauce. C'mon guy's: I know you can make it hotter than that! Thanks again to Rick; see ya soon!
Did I hear there's one opening in Federal Way...?
Very solid smoked meat! We stopped here to pick up some food to go for dinner as this looked like a cool new place for BBQ. See my picture for the ridiculous portion of free samples I got. 🤗
I love the brisket and chopped pork. The ribs were a bit salty, but I liked how the texture still had some bite to it. I would have to say, though, the best thing we had was the Best BACON Potato Salad Ever! Will need to go back to try the ones we have note tried. 😋
If it was possible to give star ratings beyond 5 this place would certainly be my top pick to do so. Parking easily found out front. A warm welcome from the Pecos Pit team is given as soon as you enter the place. I first learned of Pecos over 20 years ago when I worked directly across from the original shack on 1st Avenue. Nothing has changed from that friendly welcome to the best barbeque you will find anywhere. Kevin, the manager, came to our table to personally check if everything was okay. They have a hand-washing station setup not only for a good pre washing but a post washing to get all that deliciousness off of your fingertips. The hardest thing to do is to decide what to eat. Everything is so good. I was so impressed that I will be using Pecos catering for an upcoming party. I am sure that the original owners of Pecos are pleased that their legacy of good food served up by friendly folk continues.
Delicious food, huge portions and incredible customer service. They went above and beyond for our group order via UberEats and I really appreciated that. Thank you!!
!!#Amazing!!! Hard to put it all into words. food was fantastic and the staff who were working were absolutely amazing best experience I've had eating out in a while and believe me I get around. 😁😁😁 we had friends from out of the country with us, they were patient and more than happy to take the time with us as we ordered quite a bit. I can go on and on but I will say that I will be a Pecos superfan!!!
Positives: Friendly service. Dog friendly patio. Moonshine lemonade.
Ordered three sliders of each meat: pork, chicken, beef. Mild sauce. Chicken was dry, couldn't finish. Beef and pork were ok, seemed tough and not as tender as I had hoped. Will be back to try other items. Potato salad really good. Lots of flavor but a bit too rich for my tummy.
As always Pecos Pit is great! Have been eating their pulled pork sandwiches etc for many years and can't think of a negative word to say.
Overall not that impressed. Had higher expectations, and wished the chicken was chopped which would have made it easier to eat. The bbq sauce was good though! If I go back I’d try the brisket to see if that’s any good.
The food is mediocre compared to the original PECOS in Sodo. The pork is still about the same quality, but the sauces have definitely changed. Certainly not as zesty or spicy as the OG. The potato salad is damn good though. The also have a decent price on tall boys.
The service received definitely puts it above mediocre.
Clean and inviting dining area both in and outdoor has a fresh and southernly culture to it.
We had Pecos Pit cater our son's rehearsal dinner. Edith showed up on time and had the food ready to go when we were ready to eat. The portions for the meat were huge - we have so many leftovers frozen for future meals! The meats were all very tasty, but the spicy beans and bacon potato salad stole the show! They may be the best I've ever had. We were very happy with our experience from first contact to completion.
We loved the brisket and the ribs and the sauces, especially the extra hot. The chicken was juicy. That side of spicy hot beans and the cowboy caviar was ridiculously delicious as was the cheese and mac. Only complaint is how the hell doesn't a BBQ place not carry cornbread?
The service and the staff are amazing. Can't wait to come back.
big volume, tasty, super quick if you are in hurry to grab bite. I ordered "simply amazing salad" You might want to ask them "no BBQ sause or set it side" because their sauce is heavy and salty.
They have a drive thru and free parking in an adjacent lot. That's awesome by itself for this area.
I just drove here from Texas, not for the BBQ though, lol. Three chopped beef sandwiches with drinks and sides ran $55-60 (Seattle area pricing, yikes) The sandwiches are pretty big n messy and you'll need to clean up with the spork they give you. I got mine with the "hot" sauce. It was hot by north USA and medium-hot by southern standards.
This is a review of Pecos Pit's awesome food truck:
There is a BBQ vacuum in Seattle. As a Kansas City transplant, this made me very sad. Then I found Pecos Pit. These guys get it: 16-hour briskets, the meat tastes fantastic BEFORE you sauce it. Just legit BBQ served up by nice folks.
Checked out Pecos tonight for dinner. Got a walk around with hot beans, chopped beef and medium sauce. The beef was very good. Good tasting sauce but a little too saucy. A ton of food.
Put some south in your mouth in West Seattle. Pecos has the best ribs on this side of the Mississippi. I'm from Memphis, and the Rendezvous doesn't have anything over Pecos Pit ribs. 10 out of 10!
The best BBQ sandwitches and meats! Spud russet potato- "make it cry and squeal" is my favorite thing to order here. Would reccomend for everyone to go and try once before naming your favorite BBQ spot. Worth it!
Seriously...what’s not to love about this place. The service is way above par, staff go out of their way to make sure your visit is worth it. The food....wow, if for nothing else go there for the food. Ample parking in the bark
We had Pecos cater our wedding for 100 people and it was so incredibly successful! Some of our first dates were at Pecos in West Seattle, so having food from them was special for us. We have had so many positive comments on the food from friends and family and the catering team, led by Zach, made the whole process so easy. I especially loved the brisket and mac and cheese! Thank you Pecos!
Fabulous food! Slow roasted BBQ. We dined in and the smell of the BBQ and smoke was mesmerizing! Excellent service and personable staff. Definitely a great dining experience!
Great place for quick tasty BBQ, diverse menu and wonderful staff. Also they have a drive through!
Omg best baroque place, in town. Customer service was amazing. Would highly recommend, food was delicious, ribs were yummy.
I'm not a big bbq fan in general, but the sides here are amazing! The mac n cheese and the potato salad are both fantastic. Honestly when we come here we just get the 32 oz. sides and usually don't even really bother with the meats. That said, we enjoyed both their ribs and their hot links, so if you like bbq definitely give them a try. In my opinion the star of the show are their sides though! :)
Fast, delicious and friendly. We went through the drive through and they were helpful in making suggestions and friendly. We ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich with a beef link on it and it was delicious! Also ended up popping inside to use their bathroom after, it was clean 👍🏻
Amazing food, a bit tricky to get into the parking if you are not watching closely but so worth it
Excellent beef brisket, good BBQ sauce, and mac n' cheese that'll make my mother jealous. It was so good I had to get a second container of mac n cheese to take home.
The salad wasn’t fresh but the ribs I had were good
The best bbq around. This place will be non-stop busy when the bridge opens back up. Brisket is good!!
First time being there.
Was working in the area and smelt it.
Employees were helpful as it was my first time in. I sat on the deck with my dog.
I'll be going back
Food was delicious! Bbq was perfect. We had smoked chicken, sliced brisket and chopped pork; sides were mac n cheese, potato salad and cowboy caviar! Absolutely no complaints, high rating. This Texan approves!
Excellent service today around 12:25pm. Quick, delicious and good looking food/ menu. Interesting sounding drinks on the chalkboard too.
💯👍🤠😋🤩 One of my favorite places to grub (dine). Food delicious! Note: they slather on there sauces so if i where you I'd have them put it on the side. Try it you'll love it! …
This is the wicked smoked squad. It is the best BBQ place I have ever been to. If you are a meat lover you should absolutely come here. Besides, the service is really good.
Grabbed a quick lunch of macaroni n cheese and beef and chicken sliders for us and the grandkids.
Great Food, very nice people, and friendly environment. If you like BBQ, and are in the area, it's a must!
Delicious food, amazing service! Went with my husband and 6 year old and got the family meal with pork belly for our meat of choice. Meat is very well seasoned and huge portions, corn bread is delicious, mac and cheese is amazing (breadcrumbs too!). My husband loves the potato salad - not very creamy IMO but has lots of bacon, onions. The employees are so wonderful.
Great food, Friendly staff and the Chef personally checked on our table twice. The best BBQ in town.
Amazing BBQ, and a super friendly staff!
Been meaning to try this place ever scene I started working in this area. Well my time finally came, and I wasn't disappointed. I went with the middle of the road basic samich, and sauce. I'll be back for that Mac n cheese I was eyeballing. And maybe I'll try their hot hot sauce for good measure.
Pecos Platter is code for lots of sides and not meat. Stick to the sandwiches. Not quite like the original but it's still tasty.
Reviewing bbq is a bit tricky for me since I lived in Texas for a while so standards may be a bit too high. The bbq was ok and the sauce was pretty good. They even had since decent sides. Just nothing to write fine about...
Every time I go, the food is super good. People behind the counter have been consistently friendly, great little place!
I am from KC, I know good BBQ, and this is the BBQ you want. Absolutely amazing pork. When you taste a correct, thick sauce, rich with Q drippings, sweet but not too sweet, balanced out with acid really well, peppery finish, you just feel at peace in the world. Medium is my favorite. The pickles are excellent. You know someone cares about food when the pickles are good.
Went in and asked when the Federal way store would open and they had corporate employee right there with the manager. She was kind and thoughtful as she engaged me about the new store! Can't wait for this places to come down south so I can eat here more! The food is high quality and delicious! The meat can be really spicy if you ask, so if you like that kind of thing head here!
The reviews seemed really hot or really cold, but I'd say it was a little over medium. The beef brisket sandwiches were loaded with hunks of falling apart brisket, and we got the medium spiced sauce and found it pretty spot on. The coleslaw was a lighter based recipe with fresh ingredients and the potato salad was good, with bacon and what tasted like a bit of hard cheese. Ill definitely go again and recommend it for take out too.
Great smokey flavor in all their meats, however their chicken was a little dry. Good sides and their sweet tea has just the right amount of sweetness! Highly recommend!
Super friendly service and damn good food. I got the Peco's platter because I couldn't decide what to get. It comes with 3 meats and 2 sides. The Mac and cheese, hot link and beef was absolutely amazing! The service also gave us some free wings to taste. Highly recommended and would definitely come back again.
Friendly staff. Quick service, and great food!
Best potato salad I've ever tasted! That's a must each time I order. They're baby back ribs are top notch. If you've been hesitant to pick up or head through the drive-thru, it's actually a lot easier to access their parking / drive-thru area than it looks. I've always had great customer service and you're served quickly both inside or at the drive-thru
Prrtty darn good but I wish their buns were firmer.
Secretly the best burrito in WS, delightful proteins and sides. Lastly mystery beer!
Friendly staff, delicious food!! We were traveling with a total of 7 people, and thought the place is small (looks like it was made out of a freight car), there was plenty of seating for us and still plenty of seating for other customers. Food was delicious. I tried their "Cowboy Caviar" and my daughter got the "best potato salad ever". Both very tasty side dishes. Thank you Pecos Pit!!
You absolutely cant go wrong with Pecos! Everything ive had from them has been great, especially the potato salad, its full of bacon and the flavor is really well balanced. The sauces are good and there is a lot of variety, so whether you like it spicy or sweet they will have something for you. The price is also pretty reasonable for what you get. Also, the staff is AMAZINGLY nice. Some of the best service I've ever had, and just from a BBQ place! Free samples galore! Nice interior!
Excellent BBQ, wings, and all. Great service as well. We ordered a party pack, called in to go and even with an incorrect order they brought over the correct item immediately to make it right. We are already big fans of this place and their food is amazing but this was the cherry on top. Class act.
We haven't and an issue like this before and I'd hesitate to call it an issue at all. Great spot.
This is my first time visiting this place with my family. Very good, however missing certain barbecue hospitality foods such as; green beans, green vegetables, collard greens, turnip greens and Broccoli. My order-taker Autumn was great and overall 5-Stars. Restaurant was very clean. Next time I will try moonshine. I look forward to the new branch in, Federal Way.
It's pricey. I didn't care for the BBQ sauce. I'm not even sure that's what it was. 😃 And it was very spicy even though I asked for the lowest hotness. Also it's difficult to get to on the corner of a busy rush hour intersection. However, it looks great and has a friendly, smiley crew to serve you. If you like it spicy, this might be a good choice for you.
Cool location... the people at the drive through each time have been really nice... the BBQ is good, but not "let's drive 10 miles to get some" good. My less than 5 star rating is probably more related to the value/price part of the menu. A bbq sandwich on a burger bun is almost 10 bucks. No side... no drink.. Add a small $3 side and $2 drink and I'm not sure that sandwich combo is worth 15 bucks. To me.. maybe 10 bucks max. If the sandwich was huge for 10 bucks (vs. it's current size) or there was a combo for $9.99 then it would be hard for me not to give this place 5 stars.
Its all about customer service these days. It was our fist time in and a young lady explained how the menu worked. We did not feel rushed. She was very nice, very professional. I think most businesses have that one really good employees that stands out amongst the rest, that was her. Thank you.
The BEST barbequed turkey legs around.
WOW! Absolutely loved it! I've been driving by there for several months when doing jobs nearby. Never had the time to stop in, but thankfully finally did on Monday. My son and I had ribs that were amazing! The mac and cheese was rich and delicious... and of course the potato salad.... nuff said! Should be called potato bomb! Lol
I've heard great things about this place, so I had to try it out. The restaurant is modern looking and clean. The staff is great. However, although the food is ok, I can't say I'd go out of my way to dine here. Sauces taste very tomato-pasty. Meats are a little dry and not overly flavorful. Fortunately, there's free parking in an adjoining lot, as a bonus. Maybe try it out for lunch and form your own opinion.
when we walked in service was friendly and welcoming they got our orders out to us quickly, food was okay not the best out there but the best so far in Seattle the brisket was nice and tender (shredded) the sausage i personally didnt like it tasted soft and raw although i know it was cooked the mac and cheese was okay could of been better coming from someone who has eaten southerner bbq all my life the food is a3 out 5 but service was great that's why i rated a 4 out 5
This is the second time I've tried this place - mostly because Taco Time had a long line and I was in a hurry. The service was good and the food was okay but nothing that was worthy of making me a regular customer. I was given a sample of "our fabulous potato salad." Sorry, not so fabulous. Dry and just not very good. They should call my Mom for a better recipe. Cole Slaw was also something that can be missed. It's more like a weird salad than slaw. Finally, they didn't include the chips I ordered. Not a big deal but I did pay for them. Biggest knock for me is price versus value. It's just too expensive for what you get. I may go back but I won't be regular.
Great customer service and exceptional quality in meat! The happy hour options are awesome! I would definitley get 2 sliders for a meal since they are a bit on the small side. The medium sauce is very heavy with ground pepper but its still a delicious sauce!
Good service good food and good value. I had the classic sandwich with beef and medium heat sauce and it was awesomely delicious and totally filling. Huge wash-up tub is conveniently located for cleaning up the aftermath. Parking is in the fenced lot next to the drive through.
This place was absolutely amazing! The service was great. The staff was very welcoming when we came in they even offered us samples since it was our first time. Definitely a must have when you visit Seattle.
First time trying it out, went with the numba 8 mac cheese bowl with pulled pork, I like to try ne mixed foods, staff was very friendly. Back to the food, it was hella bomb, never thought I see myself killing mac and cheese with pulled sweet BBQ in it! I would recommend for those in the interest of BBQ flavor
Coming from Texas. This is the bbq place to be at! Keep up the good work.
We’ve been waiting for them to open the Federal Way location and today to our surprise there was food truck there! The service was amazing, the portions are hearty and the food is absolutely out of this world delicious!! Our pickiest child ate it and that’s really a feat! Great job! Great food! Great service! We’ll be back!!!
Food was good and the sandwiches are filling. The house beer was also surprisingly good. It's on the pricey side for not being a sit down restaurant (two sandwiches, a side of potato salad and two beers was a little over thirty bucks). Wish this place offered platters to try ask the different meats.
Great place, never been here before. The staff answered all my questions and the food portions were great and it all tasted great. The sweet sauce had just enough heat in it to give you a good buzz. My work is probably going to use them to cater a retirement party
One of our favorite BBQ places.
Was so delicious the mini me was huge! The mac n cheese delicious and potato salad great! Pickled onions and coleslaw on the mini me sandwich with brisket was so good! Girl in drive threw was great! Will be back! Thanks slade for the hook up!
The staff is great. They bbq is okay. However, I’m appreciative and grateful for their service.
What a Hot Messy!
Sorry for the pic of a 3/4 eaten sandwich but I couldn't wait to dive in. The Ranch Chicken Bacon sandwich is messy, smoky, sweet (depending on the sauce choice), savory and delicious.
I've been to Pecos a few times and have had the ribs and brisket, both great. I've also picked up a couple smoked turkey legs to add to some soup I made. Those definately beat out what the grocery stores offer not just in flavor but also value, will be my go to turkey leg spot. Especially when I'm feeling like my inner Fred Flintstone needs something to gnaw on.
Today I wanted to try something new and it was between the sandwich and Frito pie. The sandwich won out and I'm more than satisfied with my choice, I could've had two. Although very saucy, which the gal taking my order informed me of, there was still a good balance across the board although It could've had a bit more bacon. The chicken was tender and had a medium smoke and the sauce and ranch mixed well together.
I will definitely have this again, after I try the Frito Pie.
Great brisket! The staff was really friendly as well. Drive thru makes for added convenience. The ribs and prime rib were also good. Bbq sauce was sweet and tangy with smoked flavor to boot. The use of alderwood smoke gives the bbq a northwest accent that is nice.
OMG I have to say amazing! We usually only go to the SoDo Pecos. So this was out first time going to this one. And wow! It did not disappoint. Just so bummed I didn't take any pics. Because we were starving and shoved the food in our faces it was that great! They food was delicious. It was fast. And I will go back there.
When you're craving late night snacks this is the spot to go to. They have Frito pie which really takes me back to childhood. Their stuffed potatoes are so delicious! And the pulled pork or chicken sandwiches are so perfect! But the real VIP here is the potato salad! I could eat it every day!
Great barbecue. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a hot link and their damn hot sauce and it was awesome. Best hot link around. Their spicy beans are great as is the pecan pie. Prices are very reasonable too.
Pecos Pit always has something interesting and good no matter when you go. Tonight I tried the bronto bones, beef ribs, and they were amazing! Smokey and tender!
My usual go to is the baked potatoes that are topped with smoked meat, sauce, cheese, sour cream and a while assortment of other delicious things you can add on. It's easily enough for two meals if you add a topping or two. My personal favorite is "spiking it" which gets you a hot link piled on top.
The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, especially to a newbie like me!
Me and my fiance came to your barbecue spot for the 1st time last week Thursday probably the best barbecue we've ever had besides our home cooking Thanks for a wonderful experience and great food when we're down in Seattle again we'll definitely be back We drove all the way from Everett to try you guys
Staff are very personable, they really know their BBQ! The menu is great, you can also buy just a big 'ol chunk of perfectly cooked meat to take home. Even vegetarian options. It has a drive-thru, but make sure you check it out inside as well. I hope they open one in Canada!
On par with the best in Seattle. Fantastic sauce and the rib spicing is on point.
I got the two meat platter with cowboy caviar, potato salad, brisket, and pork. It was excellent though I needed to add some bbq sauce to the pork at home. The potato salad has bacon in it and is very good but rich. The platter also comes with a roll and sweet and spicy pickles. Try it!
A friend told me I needed to try their potato salad. I did. It was amazing. Also got some pulled pork and sides. All of it was fantastic! Can't wait to try more of the menu!
My favorite BBQ in the Seattle area! Used to be limited to workday lunches in SoDo, now you can get awesome meat in the evenings and weekends in West Seattle. Great meat, great sauce, great sides, great service. A no-brainer.
The moment we walked in they loaded our whole party up with samples!!! The menu is easy to follow, the sauce starts out with spice, as do all traditional BBQ sauces, so start small go big. Their spicy pickles are a good add on. The Coleslaw is one of the best I've ever had(fresh local ingredients, ones you can pick up with your spork and not spill because they are sliced too small and the sauce isn't overbearing with cream based, more vinager!!) baked potatoes (russet or sweet) can be made into BBQ bowls!!! If you like the chopped fatty flavor goodness of smoked meat but don't like BBQ sauce omit it or ask for the sauce on the side. Their ribs are only 2$ a bone and super moist!!!!! We only spent 30$ on 4 people if you've ever been to other BBQ joints you know it ain't cheap, but this is the newest BBQ establishment to take over the Seattle area!!
Nice job guys we'll be back fo show!!!
Great bbq, every time. My wife and I love how consistently good this place is. The only thing I wish they could do better is set us up with some of those moonshine lemonades togo. 😉 We'd bring our own mason jars, with lids. …
Best barbecue in Seattle. The brisket, pork chopped, and chicken are great. The ribs are very good by Seattle standards, but would be average many other places. The sides and barbecue sauce are very good. Highly recommend.
Oh yeah!! Real barbeque the way I want it.. The sandwich was sloppy with taste and totally delicious. Wish I had a second stomach.. Tell them Coach Brown sent you!!
Food was excellent and the staff was delightful.
Amazing smoked meats! Friendly an personable staff. .loved it! I had a potatoes topped with brisket , a turkey leg and took some brisket home for dinner! Can't wait to come back....from Bothell!
Had a very nice lunch - 1st visit. Enjoyed my sandwich/potato salad & drink. THE FRIENDLINESS & HELPFULNESS IS A+ IN MY BOOK. ONE OF THE STAFF ACTUALLY CAME OUTSIDE TO THANK ME. TOP OF THE HEAP SPOT - I WILL CERTAINLY REVISIT THIS PLACE!
Great staff, juicy finger licking food
Was visiting from Oklahoma. I've worked in Pecos texas and this BBQ is the real deal. Wasn't expecting awesome bbq in the PNW but they are definitely doing it right.
They try really hard, but the food is just not authentic tasting bbq. It is a very good reproduction of the idea of bbq. The beans are too sweet, the brisket too salty, the hot sauce wasn't hot.
Amazing brisket!! I would have taken pics, but I ate it too fast! Super friendly folks behind the counter, and they even have a convenient drive-thru! There is nothing not to like at this great local BBQ joint!
Tastes delicious. The people and the food were so good. The BBQ beef is the best ever.
I just went back. Ordered the sweat sauce this time. Delicious!!
Not authentic Texas barbecue at all but it was okay. It partially scratched an itch. Their "potato salad" is more like a twice baked potato and delicious though.
This is a MUST GO of West Seattle maybe even the state. Great BBQ if you have a southern upbringing and are looking for something traditional yet delicious I advise that you frequent this restaurant. The people are also great to go along with the food that is amazing, thank you Pecos I will be back
prices a bit higher than the original location, and the sauce was a little light. Beans were tasty with the typical kick, and customer service was quick and personable.
I'm just spoiled from 33 yrs of going to the original location in SODO.
Best barbecue sandwich I’ve had in my entire life. I’m so upset with myself that I’ve waited this long to go here. Don’t be me! Also, service was above and beyond. Go now!!
Taco Tuesday are my jam! Seriously, try the pork tacos nom nom nom. The pork ribs and pulled pork sandwiches are also amazing.
If you're in a hurry, the drive thru is quick; otherwise they have a pretty decent sized lot behind the 7-11 that's clearly marked. They now they DELIVER *Game Changer!* Via GrubHub aka Eat24.
I haven't tried anything other than the sweet sauce, but there are a number of different spice levels to choose from.
Dive thru pro tip: if you have your dogs with you, ask for some "puppy chicken".
Not your typical restaurant. Order and purchase at the counter then have a seat and enjoy. No plates, silverware or table service. The food was great! The "hot" sauce is damn hot. The "damn hot sauce"...even more.
Excellent brisket and sauce! A tad pricey, but generous servings. One drawback - for me - they only use chicken thighs. I am not a fan of dark-meat portions.
Excellent staff, really love their job. Gave us samples and explained the menu. Horseradish beef was delicious and messy and flavorful and filling.
I was an original fan of Pecos Pit when Ron & Debra started on First Ave across from the Sears & Roebuck building. (now Starbucks home office). Only open then Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri with a consistant line of 15 to 20 people waiting to order! Still the same great recipies, flavor and eye appeal. It's so GREAT to see the restaurant prosper and flourish. 5 star BBQ, and worth every penny! When visiting, I ALWAYS get a "Pork, spiked, hot"!
West Seattle had there potatoe salad it had bacon in it anytime you add bacon to anything it is baconlicous. The pulled pork sandwiches was delicious and the pork was moist and perfect amount off BBQ sauce.would go here for BBQ anytime of the week.
Probably the best bbq I have ever had. The pork was amazing and the hot sauce was also great. It has the best restaurant environment and service imaginable. I would recommend this to anyone. You have to at least try it.
I drive from Gig Harbor to get this BBQ! Everything is amazing, staff great. If you choose to support one restaurant during the VID this is the one!
Love this BBQ. This corner lot has historically NEVER done well but Pecos is AWESOME, the Potato Salad is loaded with bacon, the BBQ is top notch and I just moved back home from the South-East. I hope these guys stay around for a good long while.
I love working here everyone is kind and understand that i was born in Texas so there will be time i may say sweetheart, dear and love. Its just the way i was raised, feel free to tell me that you don't like it, but dont say its a fake southern place because of my accents that's completely rude .
Exceptional food... Never had anything that wasn't awesome... Happy Hour is exceptional (3-6, 8-close, except fri-sat 9-close). Can't wait for the North Seattle Location. I recommend the Piggie Parfait.
I was there the second day they opened. DELICIOUS.... worth the wait in the drive through. been there a few times since and have been satisfied every time. the sweet potato is something I didn't think i would enjoy, WRONG loved it!!!!!
Delicious bbq, gluten free sauces! Just roll in, order some tasty meat and have a nice low carb meal. Just be careful about eating inside, it gets really loud.
Always a tasty meal. Insider tip: get the bbq bowl and replace slaw with mac-n-cheese. Mix it up and enjoy. You can thank me later.
I love this place! The walk around bowl is amazing. The staff is great! I went to the sodo location and did not compare - I was disappointed I didn’t make the drive over to West Seattle. The beans are amazing!!!
That Potato Salad though!!! This place has some flavor! You will be delighted with the happy hour prices too. Don’t wear light clothing when enjoying your meal ;)
This is sort of a good news, bad news review. Since 1990 I have enjoyed going to Pecos Pit in Seattle several times a year. I don't think their barbeque can be beat. I was excited to hear about a West Seattle location and wondered, at the time, if this location had in-store dining. Their website was very non-specific and I couldn't tell. I spend fifteen minutes searching the internet only to find photos taken from the inside by a customer which showed a bar and stools. For those of you who know Pecos Pit from its Seattle location, you'd remember that they only had outdoor picnic tables, so you'd think indoor dining in West Seattle would be a big deal. Yet they are silent on the subject on their own website. Then, today, April 4, 2019, I finally hear there may be a Federal Way location. That would be the closest one to me, yet. Woo hoo . . . right? I hit the website again and do see Federal Way as an alternative. But when I click on it, I'm taken to a picture of four people in hard hats smiling with an announcement, "Ground Breaking Federal Way Update
On June 25th we broke ground in Federal Way." I fish around to find elsewhere the location would open Sept. 2018. Yet, on their website on their Facebook page, now seven months later, I see no evidence that they have actually opened. So I decide to call. No one answers and I get an automated response that informs me that the location is scheduled to open Sept 2018 and more information will be available soon. Can someone please tell me . . . is the location open or not? Hungry people want to know these things. I still gave the place five stars on the history of incredible barbeque at the original location on 1st Avenue across from SODO. I don't have any idea whether the place was sold or what, but current management needs to pay more attention to details, like communicating whether or not the place is open or whether they have inside dining. It can't be that hard to update a website or Facebook, can it?
Love this place! Great BBQ and it's sides are as good as a. steakhouse, great prices
The sandwich I ordered was ok, way too much sauce that is sort of bland IMO. The coleslaw is more of a pickled cabbage/carrot combination that I didn't care for much. The price was sort of steep for the smallest item on the menu.
A Seattle Original brought to W. Seattle. Pecos Beef Medium, or Hot if you’re in the mood, is always a good bet. I’ve been eating this sandwiches for 30yrs and it’s never disappointed me.
Always delicious. Friendly staff and great food. Got to sample the chilli special and ended up with a Huge Frito pie for lunch. Worth the drive!
Great food, we go for lunch, probably to much. The portions are varied by staff, most staff give good amounts, some don't but those staff members don't seem to want to be there.
Excellent!! Had the brisket and was fantastic! Sides are a focus here and it shows. Have the mac and cheese its special. And potato salad is awesome!!
Best potato salad ever had, meat vg
too much black pepper in the beans, needs more smoke on the meat, there good but for the price I expect some perfection, the crew is awesome, I like the way its put together, some food tweaks happen there good to go!
So tasty. Great bbq meat, yummy potato and mac salad, awesome bbq sauces. Friendly staff as well!!! Can’t wait to go back.
True Texas style BBQ. I've been going to Peco's Pit since the first day they opened their 1st Ave. South location. That would have been in the early 1980s. This place has seriously good bbq with friendly service. Try the Sliced Brisket - ask for it to be cut thick and add a side spike along with a cup of beans. Nom nom nom. Burp. More please!
Delicious BBQ! It was super busy when I got there, still the staff was super fast and friendly.
Will definitely come back next time I'm in West Seattle
Got the pulled pork sandwich with spicy bbq sauce. It was nice and tender with a nice kick to it.
As this was my first time visiting here, I was amazed at how flavorful the food is. My son and I enjoyed the macaroni and cheese with pork. We will definitely be back again.
Ordered the three meat platter with smoked macaroni and cheese and original spicy beans everything was amazing.
Awesome choice of cut meats. Top how you like it and your level of hot sauce. Be sure to come early since the lunch crowd makes this spot really crowded
It's ok. I'm from Austin TX so BBQ here always disappoints. But this is ok, kinda of expensive for what it is but, if you just want some brisket or pork..... It's fine
bbq... so tasty. I love this place always quality food & service. Looking forward to coming back with my friends. I see why this place has so many great reviews.
I'll be back. Hopefully it will be on a Thursday since that is when they serve ham. This was very good. The beans were too spicy for me. The potato salad was alright.
Friendly staff just the food wasn't quite what I was use to in BBQ. However, I think that it's worth checking out! You may love it!
Clean apace, super friendly staff, ample portion, speedy cooking. Flavorful bbq sauce. It'd be my comfort food if I liked sweet taste.
Affordable, thick, hearty with the perfect spice. Great to pad out dishes at home or get a honkingly huge sandwich.
Good food with fast service! Lil too much sauce on the sandwich, but I know to ask for less next time yes I'll be going back..
Not only is the food incredible but the service is OUTSTANDING! Easily the best BBQ in Seattle. Don't miss this gem when you're in West Seattle!
A whole bucket of goodness with lightning fast service. The Wednesday beef rib special is worth dropping your gluttony standards for a day or three.
Xlnt bbq...tender and delicious. Mild is good but medium hot is better but spicy. More than that it's too hot for me. Gotta try it at least once! You won't regret it.
It was amazing, there good food was terrific and satisfying. Try the sliced brisket it's too tasty to not run back for seconds
Great place for brisket sandwiches however once I ordered baked potato with the works but the baked potato was old and over cooked ... it had to be sitting for hours in the heated drawer. It shouldn't be served
Anytimw there's a drive-thru on a BBQ joint you can't say anything bad about the place. Foods great, fast and honestly priced.
Great BBQ at a reasonable price, always friendly staff. Salads and spuds surprisingly good. Always add a hot link :)
Good bbq. Friendly staff. Quick service. Price OK. Wish they had fries....I know bbq doesn't have fries. Beans weregood...pork was yummy.
Hidden Gem! Amazing food and house made spirits! Definitely get the smoked Mac and cheese!
Best bbq. And it has been for years. Used to go to Sodo location. First time at West Seattle location - great experience, great service!
Love the BBQ'd chicken and all the awesome sides. People ar super nice and 'I've never had a bad meal!
Always tasty meats are always consistently with good quality meats their hot BBQ sauce is hot though warning.
Great bunch of people, great food and a very nice atmosphere. Will absolutely send my friends here when they want some good BBQ
Hands down, the best in local BBQ. The macaroni and cheese with pulled pork is an affordable and mouth pleasing dish.
A very nice knowledgeable staff casual atmosphere Excellent food everything is good Downfalls is there's no parking and not very much Room inside to take the family to eat mostly take out but over all excellent
Wow and wow! The friendliest stuff ever. I haven't seen employees smile like this even at Disney Land. Great BBQ place A+++++++ . You guys rock
Great BBQ! You need to try their brisket! It's fantastic! Friendly staff and decent prices.
Great staff excellent pulled pork sandwich very good service and awesome prices glad I found this lil spot would def recommend
I met up with one of my business referral partners there and it just hit the spot. So good!
The best tasting bbq I have ever had. The brisket is delicious and pulled pork the bomb!!! Not to mention the bbq sauce!🤗 …
Best barbeque and quick service! I love how much you can customize your order, even down to how spicy you want the sauces!
Excellent brisket, ample portions, and very flavorful barbecue sauce. The 4 flame barbecue sauce is a a true 4 flamer!
I found coleslaw in my nose after eating one of your sandwiches. Thank you. 11/10 good job guys.
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Need a little more spice to the hot sauce. Less spicy than its first ave location.
Feels like a real BBq spot I would find in the south. Great smoky flavor. Sweet tea. Friendly staff.
Great food, great customer service, food is always ready to go! And if you catch that 2 dollar shots, beers, and sliders, it's a win win!
Ok BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and Ribs outlet. Serves Beer. Spin Off from original Pecos Pit on First Ave S across from Starbucks HQ. Pattern Store for Franchising throughout U.S.
Hands down best BBQ I ever had, friendly staff and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to everyone I know
I love this bbq joint! The loaded potato salad is my favorite so good!
Best pulled pork I’ve ever eaten, staff was super friendly. Can not find an imperfection about this place.
Great BBQ... They got some pretty good happy hour specials also that can save ya alot of 💵 …
As good as the first time I had it at the 1st Ave S location. Friendly unique and outgoing staff. Five stars is not high enough.
This is the best barbecue I've had some moving out this way. Their Smoky beer was great.
The drive through is convenient and they get things done quickly, (for BBQ). The Turkey leg is great.
Smoked spud is so addicting! Plus if you bring your pup they give them chicken!
Tender meat. Great sides. Excellent damn hot sauce...comfortable, fast, and friendly. Tje chilli would make great nachos.
Food is great and service is fast, friendly, and helpful. Prices are decent, but the menu is limited in sides.
Customer service was kind, quick, and knowledgeable. The food was pretty good, your typical BBQ sandwiches.
Good flavour but I think they get piglet ribs as they are so small.
Very good bbq with convenient drive up window... though tricky to get out of if your not leaving West Seattle
Spouse love there ribs
Amazing it's a drive through. Fast and delicious. Smoked brisket was the best.
Not bad but for some reason it just doesnt taste as good as the downtown location staff is friendly and attentive
Awesome food great service they treat you like your home would definetly recommend this place to the whole world
Very nice people that make sure there customer's are having a great time. Great food too.
Solid BBQ at a reasonable price. Not much for intimate seating but quality and care to the chow make up for it.
Food is always excellent and the staff is very friendly. You can order ribs in any increment you want.
So delicious and great service! Some of the best barbeque in Western Washington!
They're pretty good..i think the other one in sodo is still better but they're still very good and the customer service is excellent
We had them cater our meeting. What a great job they did and the food was amazing!
Friendly employees, great food.
Let us have samples of the BBQ sauces.
Good food friendly staff. A bit pricey.
Great place,
Positive: felt like I was back in Texas for a moment.
Negative: a bit on the more expensive side, BUT you gotta pay for great food!!👍 …
This place has some of the best, most flavorful BBQ in Seattle!
Food was really good 1st time there way better than going to McDonald's
I would visit here again.
The food was good, but not worth the money they charge. The portions are really small and not actually filling.
Tasty, good prices, double check your order before you leave if doing drive thru.
Good food and awesome staff. Was a good tasty meal that left us wanting more!
Had better brisket. The hottest sauce was not hot. With construction hard to get to.
A bit pricey, but the sliced brisket sandwich is tasty! Be sure to have them leave the fat on!
Fantastic food and quality - what a great fast food concept. We need this chain in Canada ASAP.
So glad there is a location open on the weekends! Had to take my girlfriend there to experience the awesomeness!
The Food is GREAT !
The staff is pretty ghetto, hopefully they don't give the Pecos Pit Legacy a bad name..
Went through the drive thru. The food was okay. The ribs were dry.
food was delicious but the serving sizes were pretty small. i was expecting alot more.
Possibly the best BBQ I've had in Seattle, it's tied with caveman and petes
Consistently good barbeque, the closest thing in Seattle to barbeque from my hometown in Texas
Good BBQ, quick service, drive-thru. Best driver thru I've found in the area,
Great bbq here! A variety of choices on menu... staff is great!
The food was amazing not just that the staff are super friendly. I'll be back!
Pretty good, a bit pricy for the size, typical Seattle BBQ.
The brisket was great. Best I've had in Washington so far.
Excellent food great staff they even sell their own homemade Hard Lemonade
Felt ripped off since we got 6 ribs at $2 each, and 2 of them were "runts." Also no deserts.
Coleslaw is great! Good price for the amount of food you get
Awesome BBQ. Have to have some every time I come to Seattle - yum.
The bbq was good and the restaurant was very clean and worker's was very helpful.
It's worth the trip to seek some BBQ if not willing to fire own grill
BBQ is good and the slaw is amazing...Atmosphere is friendly and service was quick!
