Reviews of Osteria la Spiga
I liked the food overall, but there are definitely some nuisances.
1) We had to ask for water multiple times before getting some more. So the server could have been a bit more attentive.
2) The bottle of wine we ordered, and actually liked, was out of inventory after the first bottle. So we were asked to switch to another one which was supposed to be similar, but it actually did not taste similar at all. The one similarity was that they were both red. So the suggestion here is to have a better selection, or at least let us know you have only one bottle left upon ordering, and don't lie to us about being a wine being similar, when it really isn't... I'm no wine expert, but the flavor profile was quite distinctively different to me.
3) Though the food was tasty, the portions were quite small. We definitely got appetizers to share in advance and even after dinner, it felt like we needed dessert. This may be intentional, but it really is not ideal.
Overall, I liked the food here and the staff were nice. Definitely could make some changes for better customer satisfaction though.
Great environment - spacious with good vibe, for dating as the live jazz piano and singing was a huge plus! Food-wise is good but not like amazing, with a wide selection of pasta 🍝, desserts 🍨, and drinks. Maybe we just didn’t order the right stuff while I had a really high expectation.
Great atmosphere. Good northern Italian food choices. Good drinks and wines. Good dessert. Would definitely come back. Got this recommendation from my cousin who lives locally. Plus her husband is from northern Italy.
This is a top tier option for vegan Italian food in the country. It doesn't rely on vegan cheese, but good quality olive oil, herbs and vegetables. There is atleast one vegan and one vegetarian option in each section of the menu. The casserole was favorite; a little expensive, but very hearty, healthy and comforting.
Additionally they have live jazz piano!! We had a magical evening here with good food, service and music.
I ate here today and it was great. I eat gluten free and vegan. There were great options for me I. Every category. I really appreciate I was able to eat wholesome delicious food with my life style.
Service was great and we felt taken care of. Very enjoyable atmosphere.
Looking for a new place for team dinners for work? This place is perfect for your next event. Upstairs there is a secluded sitting space that holds roughly 15-20 comfortably. We had 4 course delivered and dedicated waitress support who was so nice. Love how the atmosphere was comfortable and not too loud for conversations.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great! Our server was attentive and nice without being intrusive. He was hard to hear through two masks over the noise (very loud table nearby) but that’s hardly his fault. We definitely would go back!
We had such a wonderful experience. We were sat in a booth and it was my partners birthday and he was wearing a silly hat our daughter made and the waiter brought us two glasses of Prosecco to start. He was kind, patient and brought our young daughters dinner out first which was greatly appreciated. We got a full salad to share and it was huge. Maybe we would have even been able to split one! The GF pasta was so good, and paired perfectly with the bolognese sauce. I ordered a glass of Lambrusco, and for dessert the flourless chocolate cake. I was expecting the usual dark chocolate almost torte type cake flourless chocolate cakes usually are, but it was more like a cookie cake. It was amazing, especially eaten with some of our littles salted caramel gelato. I am looking forward to going back soon. It was a really nice family night out.
Came for Seattle restaurant week. The food was tasty - maybe I’d try something else another time. But did an appetizer, entree and desert for $35. Try the house rosé.
Amazing place! Everything we ordered was delicious and well made, would definitely come back.
Really nice experience with delicious food and a super friendly staff. Fantastic ambience as well. Would highly recommend
If you want some of the best pasta in Seattle, go here! Great environment, service and food! What more can you ask for? Seems like a small place on the outside but opens up to a beautiful rustic dining room with a cute patio for summer time! My recommendation is either the truffle pasta or the gnocchi! It was delicious and will be returning! Great spot for a date night!
Ambience = 5/5. Service = 5/5. Food = 3.5/5.
Ambience and service is great. Plenty of wine options to choose from. The food was average. They have enough vegan options to choose from though.
This restaurant has everything: a clean, modern and warming ambiance; a vast selection of wines and drinks - and a barman able to mix them right, no fuz - just right; an ever welcoming and uplifting manager - Pietro; and above all - the authentic Italian food prepared for you by the brilliant Chef Sabrina.
The menu is a modern and improved reading of the homy and earthy cucine typical of Emilia Romagna region. Every plate is excellent, the Stinco di Maiale (Pork Shank) being my personal favorite.
If you are thinking Italian tonight and you haven't tried Osteria La Spiga yet, you have been missing out.
You are welcome :)
person who attended to us was very nice. I enjoyed the experience, but could not find a striking flavor in the dishes we ordered.
It's been a while since I have had a perfect dinner date out with a friend and last night, the team at La Spiga made sure we had one! They were incredibly busy with Seattle Restaurant Week (which we had completely forgotten about when we walked in) and even though they were totally booked, they went out of their way to make sure we found a couple of seats at the bar. The server, who was undoubtedly extremely busy all night, chatted and offered us tasting notes of different bottles of wine to make sure we got the perfect one. The food was all delicious and cooked perfectly and as a person with quite a few food sensitivities, I was beyond happy to see the many GF, DF options clearly labelled on the menu. The ambiance was delightful and to cap it off, even though the gift card we had brought in was extremely old and wasn't working with their system, the staff worked with us and ensured we could still use it. I am so grateful for such a lovely, and very needed night out and can't wait to go back!
the portions are not very big, but they are tasty
Omg..this restaurant was sooo good. We went there for my brothers birthday and were amazed by the food to be honest. Their pastas and desserts especially were my favorite. Just delicious. Inside was cozy and stuff was friendly as well! Will be back for sure.
Beautiful room, wonderful people, fantastic food, great wine cellar, delightful music! Really, what more could you ask for? And best of all, still there and going strong after all we've been through! Go, eat, drink! You'll be glad you did!
I absolutely fell in love with this place! The food was so amazing. Ordered the ragu pasta and it was so delicious. The cocktails are also amazing. On top of the great ambience (great for date nights) the service and courtesy of the staff made the experience all the better.
My Favorite restaurant in Seattle!!! The food, atmosphere, and service is amazing! This is an authentic Northeast Italian restaurant. Almost everything, starting from the noodles, is made from scratch and some of the few things that aren’t(like cheese, prosciutto, wine) are carefully selected and imported! The architecture (in part designed by family of the owners) is great! An open yet intimate space including, the lighting, the people and the music( often live). This is an upscale place that is relaxed and makes everyone feel at home- no pressure to dress up etc. You will often see the owners walking around, working as needed with their staff and entertaining the multitude of people who go there to see them. The other owner( a highly accomplished head chef and community leader)is always seen doing quality assurance , cooking and making sure everything in the back of the house is running perfect! Menu changes seasonally so constantly check back to see what’s next!!
Simply delicious! We went on a Friday night and it was very busy so we came back midweek. I loved the mushroom ravioli and eggplant lasagna. Beautiful place and friendly service. Look forward to coming back to Seattle and having dinner here again!
We opted for the set three course dinner. It was delicious though the lasagne was slightly overcooked. The staff were courteous and helpful even offering to make warm lemon tea with honey for one of us who had a sore throat (that's not on the menu mind you). Dinner will cost approximately $50 - $70 person. Drinks come at about $15 a round.
Came here for Seattle restaurant week. I was very impressed at the location. It's in chophouse row which includes several different restaurants. Once you walk in, the interior is huge. It's dark inside but where it needs to be lit, has plenty of lights. Food was exceptional. Doesn't have much in terms of presentation as I would imagine great Italian food does, but once you take the first bite, it was a dream. Would highly recommend.
Went there on a Saturday for happy hour. They have a good happy hour menu, with interesting plates and with the pastas same portion as the regular menu. We had two glasses of red wine (Nero d'Avola) and three plates: polenta with duck, tagliatelle and lasagne. All of them very tasty, but the polenta in particular was excellent, highly recommended. The quality of the ingredients was very high. Service was very good too and the location beautiful.
Osteria La Spiga has excellent ambience, attentive service, and presented us with three of five outstanding dishes. The Capitol Hill location is vibrant and the decor is well done. The atmosphere is appropriate for either a business lunch, date, or dinner with the parents. Our server didn't "hover" but was never inattentive. We began with a brilliant beet carpaccio - an innovative riff on a classic beef appetizer that was both bright from pickling and earthy from the star ingredient itself. The eggplant lasagne entree was outstanding, as was the gnocchi. We had three issues that could have used improvement. When we asked our server for more information about the tenderloin entree, the only information we could extract was that it was "sliced"; we passed. Second, our squash ravioli was about 30-seconds too al dente at the edges and didn't have a good mouth feel. Finally, and most disappointing, the kitchen dramatically overcooked our halibut. The flavor was excellent and the remaining components of that dish treated the fish well, but it was dry and tough, which broke our hearts since the central component is such a beautiful ingredient. Overall we wouldn't recommend against Osteria La Spiga but it probably won't be on our short list of restaurants to which to return.
Always a wonderful experience. Beautiful plating, fresh ingredients and tasty dishes! Love this place and highly recommend for a nice night out.
I'd give it 10 ⭐ such a great place...hadn't been back since the pandemic and they are knocking it out of the park! Impressed & will be back ASAP
Always 5 stars! Bestie took me out for my birthday and we had a lovely time. Excellent service, beautiful space, great food!
2nd time back - outstanding. Food, ambiance, the staff were awesome

We had the upper level for a private event and it was perfect. Everything on the menu was amazing. Only request: Maybe a ceiling fan in the upper level as was warm.
If you like up scale places with authentic italian food this may be the place for you. Smaller portions but great service. The restaurant inside is very pretty and swanky. Large garage-like doors open in the warmer months for open air seating. Nice date night spot.
Nothing beats FRESH, except FRESH and FRIENDLY!
Whether you're here with friends and family or you're here for a catered event, you'll enjoy the carefully crafted pasta.
Osreria la Spiga is one of my all time fav restaurants in Seattle. Every time the food is awesome and the service is excellent. Celebrated a birthday there this weekend with friends and had another great dining experience.
First of all, I never write review, but I was so impressed that I really felt it necessary. It was valentine's day in seattle and I (pescatarian) and my partner (vegan) had nowhere to go. We were hoping to go to Plum Bistro across the hall, but it was closed - and I'm so happy it was. We walked in at about 5:15 (again - on Valentine's Day!), and despite a full list of reservations, we were able to sit t the bar. Dominic (the bar tender) was tremendous. Attentive, and not rushing us at all. Took the time to curate a bottle that fit our palate (and budget). And the food was absolutely fantastic. I had the eggplant and I'm still thinking about it today. The prices are totally reasonable, and the atmosphere is impeccable. My only regret is that we were too full to order desert. Can't wait to hop into the bar the next time I'm out around Cap Hill!
Everything I've tried there is wonderful, especially the grilled vegetables, truffled pasta and the parmigiana.
Probably one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle. I happened to go on the earlier side because we had a large group of 8 people, so the only time open for a reservation was before the major dinner rush. Despite our group size, all orders came out perfectly and quickly! The servers were delightful and attentive, and addressed all of our needs.
10/10 would recommend going here for birthdays, work events, etc. :) Their menu has an unending list of people-pleasers!!! Not to mention, the overall ambiance is *chefs kiss*
I can't wait to go back!!!
Great food cool atmosphere and great food 👌 I said that twice for a reason 😉 …
Had the Tortellini with lamb, was amazing! Great atmosphere and was surprisingly quick (only had pasta and water). Would have to come back for a full course!
La Spiga is one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle. In fact, my wife and I had our wedding reception there, and all of the guests raved about the food and service. Also, the Gnocco Fritto and Tagliatelle al Burro are two absolute musts!
Delicious food. We visited during the restaurant week with 3 courses for $35. Great bartender as well.
I discovered the Lasagna Trays online when looking at la Spiga's dreamy menu and offered to bring a meat lasagna to a dinner with friends last night. I picked it up hot, wrapped it in an insulated bag and drove it to meet the others. The "small" tray serves 6-8 and I cut it in 8 pieces for the 7 of us to share. This may be the best lasagna we've ever eaten! Delicate pasta layers, creamy bechamel, oh so delicious. And those 8 pieces were super generous! Plan to repeat this venture at the next opportunity!
Great evening with friends. We were buzzed up and let our server order for us. They made all the right calls on our food and wine pairings.
The food is amazing here and the service is some of the best. I recommend you try them and bring the family too.
service was trying hard to make it nice, but way understaffed, took 30 min to seat us (we had a reservation), 30 min to order, 30 min wait to pay, etc. Food came out unevenly heated (microwaved?). Only have 4 glasses of red on the list and were out of one. I'm persuaded to give this cool looking place in a superb location a second try
Fantastic dinner to celebrate dining out after two pandemic years. Everything was superb. The prosciutto is divine! You might think that a half plate is enough; you'd be wrong. Get the whole plate! And be prepared to fight the others at the table for the last piece!
Thank you Sabrina! It was excellent!
Amazing husband and wife duo creating amazing Italian experiences. Love the venue, the people are amazing and the food was amazing.
Just at face value, this is a tremendous restaurant with tremendous food, prepared immaculately well by skilled staff. The pasta especially is amazing, I would never turn down a chance to eat their pork cheeks, and both their wine selections and cocktails will always have something that compliments your meal beautifully.
A layer deeper, this place is owned and run by possibly the best and most kind chef in Seattle. She routinely opens up her space to feature other up and coming talent, offering her own time and resources to see that amazing food and cuisine can be featured for Seattle to taste, enjoy, and support. I have seen other full fledged chefs come back and work shifts for her as volunteers, just because there's so many folks in the industry out here that owe La Spiga in some way for their start.
If the old adage is "food made with love", this place has food made with love, skill, community, and solidarity. It's a damn tasty combo.
Pesca Arrosto Brilliant. Perfect for two not enough for three people. Added to this the Gnocco Fritto...amazing. I could make a meal of this!
Entree was Tortelli alla Boscaiola, perfectly cooked. Could taste the wild mushroom and sausage.
Dessert was Sorbetto, they did not have lemon but I was offered a Raspberry Sorbetto, a little on the tart side but packed with flavour.
Would definitely come back.
Server was honest and made recommendations
Its a cool place for a date night with good food and lovely ambiance
Fabulous Italian Restaurant on 12th Ave, Seattle... can use Open Table to make reservations... went there with my Italian friend Anna.. she chose excellent traditional dishes ( we shared ) & Vin Santo after dinner was perfect!
Visited this spot a while back when I was exploring downtown. I was craving some Italian food and I came across this place. The front lady was kind enough to seat me since I didn't have a reservation. The decoration for this place was great! Our server was very kind and was very attentive. I ordered the Tagliatelle Al Ragu which was great. The portions were a bit smaller than what I usually get at other Italian restaurants but this was good for what it was worth.
Break your covid fast here! First dinner out in over a year and it was great. Staff wear masks and check temperatures and while the restaurant is full it feels pretty safe. The cocktails are awesome. We tried the passion fruit and basil and were much pleased. Here's the secret, let the waiter choose the wine. He'll ask you what you like, your price, and see what you've selected to eat. The only thing our super Tuscan was missing was a cape! (p.s. The food is good too.)
Very friendly servers and great drinks! Came for truffle pasta after seeing on Instagram but unfortunately when we went they didn’t have the pasta with the actual truffle shavings anymore. Good aperol spritz and wine! It was also very hot when we went and no air conditioning so I was rather hot all of dinner. Other possible downside to some is bathroom is separate from restaurant downstairs - we brought our baby so this was a bit of a hassle. All in all a spot with good good worth checking out!
Wonderful service and delicious meal last night. Our server was very helpful and spot on selecting the wine and making sure we tried all of the classics on the menu. I appreciated the health and safety requirements in place to keep their staff safe, we also felt very safe and taken care of. We look forward to coming back and checking out the patio in the back!
Inspired traditional food moderately priced and pleasantly served. Atmosphere a little loud but the vibe was positive.
Went for dinner tonight with my wife and daughter to celebrate her finishing her junior year of college. We sat in one of the back patio huts. Cheese plate, roasted vegetables and salad for appetizers, super tasty although they could have peeled the roasted peppers. My wife’s lemon ravioli and daughters gnocchi were excellent. I had the braised pork shank with roasted potatoes and bitter greens. Succulent meat literally fell off the bone, no knife needed. Wait staff was super attentive and friendly and we chatted about Grateful Dead tattoos on the way out (I might have a few and my daughter thought he was cute).
We went to Osteria La Spiga for Valentine's Day. Thanks to traffic and parking, we were about 10 minutes late for our reservation, but we called to let them know, and it wasn't a problem.
We were seated upstairs, in a loft overlooking the rest of the restaurant and the street below.
All of the food was fantastic.
Meat and Cheese Board: Amazing salami and olives, with good condiments and cheese to round it out.
Crostini: These were my highlight. The tenderest filet I've had, with mellow paté.
Fried Polenta: Light and airy, these were very good.
Sturgeon: Very good piece of fish, but felt a bit one note with the light zucchini noodles and sauce. Would have liked something bolder to play against the hearty fish.
Wild boar shank: The star entree. This was amazing, not too gamey and melted in your mouth.
Mushroom Tortelli: Also amazing, very mushroomy while not being one-note.
Tiramisu: The best tiramisu I've had in the area. Soft and creamy, great coffee flavor.
Panna Cotta: Light and springy, with a delicious berry coulis.
Good restaurant with good service. However, the pasta with the truffle does not taste of truffle at all, even though there are large visible pieces. Perhaps they are using inferior summer truffles, they cooked the flavor out, or they are not fresh. Additionally, they do not have a table side truffle service, it is added when the dish is played in the kitchen.
It's ok. Service was good, food left quite a bit to be desired.
For starters we had the combination appetizer, prosciutto, and crostini. The combination appetizer had 6 pieces of salame, some pickled eggplant, goat cheese, literally 4 olives and about a tablespoon of cashews. Prosciutto was good, but nothing special.
We tried three pastas, the tag with truffle butter, gnocchi with porcini cream, and papardelle with duck ragu. The truffle butter tag was basically just pasta with truffle oil, and not particularly good truffle oil. Would not recommend. Some of the noodles were clumped together, like they didn't stir the water, making for some less than appetizing bites. The duck ragu was ok, but a little dry and over seasoned. The gnocchi were also just ok. The gnocchi themselves were nice and tender, but the sauce was underwhelming. It just tasted like a one-dimensional umami bomb.
For dessert, Panna Cotta was real tasty, tiramisu was dry for tiramisu.
All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here and I wouldn't recommend it.
This was a good experience. Got temperature taken at the front, and led to the table. Unfortunate location in the front of the restaurant by the majority of foot traffic, but it looked like the worst place to get, so you’ll probably get better, ha!
We did “restaurant week” here so I got the spinach and pear salad which had a generous amount of pears and was top-tier. Had some tasty cheese on top as well. The fish entree was good, with the only complaint being a little too salty.
The hazelnut cake for dessert was also 5 stars, and got to try the tiramisu which was tasty as well.
The waiter we got was super friendly and at tentative.
We came for Resturant week and got to try some new/different items. This is one of my favorite places to visit in Seattle.
The ambiance is great, patio is in a cozy spot in the back of restaurant. Service is always top notch.
Everyone in the family loved having dinner here. We made a reservation well in advance for the patio and the kids enjoyed having dinner in "the bubble tent". The food was delicious, from the prosciutto appetizer to the panna cotta and tiramisu. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. I honestly can't complain about a single thing here.
My boyfriend and I came here last night for New Year's Eve dinner (2019) We were interested in the happy hour menu (a little broke from after the holidays) but they didn't end up serving hh on NYE. We were a little disappointed but decided to stay anyways and I'm so glad we did! We ordered this yummy platter as an hors d'oeuvres that had like cheese, eggplant, onion, prosciutto, in this like puffy bread thing, so yummy! And then he got some ravioli with mushroom and I had the sausage. His entree was definitely better than mine but mine was still good. The service was great as well although he was a little pushy on us to drink or order more but overall enjoyed it and would come back.
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Everything was just so damn good. Statten was fantastic, very friendly and personable. Looking forward to enjoying another meal at Osteria La Spiga!
I always visit their Vegan neighbor Plum Bistro and missed them. This time determined to dine there, we ensured we for the reservation.
Their cocktails were great and the food was very delicious.
It's a little pricey and if you're looking for an elegant and classy place to take your friends, definitely try them out.
Don't let the entrance mislead you, they have a very large dining area with two floors. If you're lucky, you'd also be treated to live music with the inhouse piano.
Covid-19 update : They are following all the CDC guidelines for Covid 19 ensuring that the space isn't completely occupied at capacity, temperature checks before you go in, masks worn by all the staff making it one of the safest restaurants I've been to.
Our server was Rafael or Raphael, he was an exceptional waiter, his recommendations for food and wine were spot on. We had a party of 5 celebrating my daughter’s 16 birthday. We had the gnocchi with Pomodoro, butternut squash ravioli, beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes, pork cheeks, papardelle with ragú and the pasta with duck. The highlights: The lemon mashed were out of this world amazing! The pomodoro sauce was perfect and very flavorful, the duck pasta was good but nothing special, beef tenderloin was great and perfectly cooked, the ragú pasta was great as well and the item that stole the night was the pork cheeks and the red wine, the Iuli Umberta Barbera del Monferrato ‘20, this was perfection. We are definitely coming back. Please let the manager know how amazing Rafael is as well as the hostess, they deserve to be praised.
Hip place in a cool Capitol Hill neighborhood. Awesome interior (old chophouse building) and testy italian meals (beware, no pizza).
My wife and I stopped in here last night for a cocktail while we waited for a table at another restaurant. It was such a lovely atmosphere, we decided to stay for dinner. We couldn't have been happier. The service was impeccable. The owner made us feel like family. The food was superb. I couldn't imagine eating Italian food anywhere else in Seattle now.
Classy joint. We had a few cocktails off of the menu and all were top notch. Beautifully put together interior and bar area. There was some pretty solid live jazz piano playing the whole time we were there. If you're looking for a very classy place to grab a few drinks, this is a great option. We haven't tried the food yet but will hopefully be back in the near future.
This place is absolutely beautiful and the service is outstanding. Really really impressed with our waitress customer service and the owner who came by to talk to us. First time here, our food unfortunately was very underwhelming and bland. Out of 6 of us, there were two dishes that were liked. The cashew cream and endive soup along with my asparagus ravioli were tasteless. Friend got Wild Boar Ragu which she felt the same way, very bland and little to no sauce. We will be back though, we are pretty sure it was just maybe an off night. We understand that can happen sometimes. We were very impressed that they gave 10% off our meal. Outstanding Customer Service. We will be back soon!
This place is special. The owners and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is rustic and very open with a huge ceiling. I love the food, especially the truffle pasta. Take a look around the walls, everything is historic! So cool. Tip: go on Thursday and Saturday evenings for the live music!
Jeff is BY FAR THE BEST SERVER WE’VE EVER EXPERIENCED (EVER)! He was so personable, informative, insightful, and thoughtful. He made our friends birthday celebration so special and suggested ways to enhance her experience without being too pushy. We would come back to Osteria la Spiga just for him. He deserves a RAISE!!! Also the food was delectable, drinks were creative and delicious, and the ambiance is perfection!! DON’T EVER THINK TWICE ABOUT COMING HERE!
Good food. The service is slow, so expect to wait a bit to be seated. Then wait a bit to put in an appetizer order. Then wait a bit to put in a food order. Pretty expensive for the level of service provided.
Great atmosphere and amazing service. Food was amazing- and focused on simplicity at its best (not sure how their basic greens salad was the best salad of my life). The truffle and butter pasta is fantastic as well. Vine list was interesting and quality, especially as someone who is a fan of Barolos.
Authentic and delicious Italian food in a stunning location. I started with some piadina, gnocco fritto and prosciutto, all amazing. The piadina is a sort of flatbread typical of the Romagna region in Italy, and la Spiga's version is as authentic as it can be, perfect paired with prosciutto crudo and some cheese. The gnocco fritto is a deep fried dough, very light and airy, absolutely amazing, a must have if you visit. Then I got the tortelli alle erbe, basically ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach, tossed in butter and sage, and finished with some grated parmigiano. Delicious. Finally I got to taste all three desserts. Panna cotta with peaches, torta di nocciola (a flourless hazelnut cake) and the tiramisu (which they call Mascarpone). All amazing. The restaurant is huge, open space with a loft/mezzanine, lots of steel work, beams and wood. It has a stunning big open window at the entrance, which makes the place even bigger and "airier". I saw a patio in the back and a bar/counter area with a big collection of wines. Highly recommended!
A balance of warm ambiance, delectable food and great service - a must place to eat. An extensive wine collection to go with any dish - by the glass or bottle is available. Price point matches the quality of food served. Attentive staff - definitely there but not overwhelming.
Great experience and would definitely go back.
This is my favorite restaurant. I enjoy the fried seafood platter, the salad and many of the pasta dishes. Always go with the knowledgeable suggestions of the bartenders. They won't steer you wrong. I love when they provide live entertainment. There are some amazing artists that perform and everyone leaves with a smile on their face. I absolutely adore this establishment and the wonderful people that work there.
Beautiful Italian restaurant with an amazing atmosphere in a great location serving fresh hand made pasta and more.
Excellent quality, service, and delicious food, you can't go wrong with any of their dishes.
Make sure to try their tiramisu dessert!
They have excellent handling and precautions for this time during covid.
A friend and I stopped in here on a whim to hear their live jazz music (Saturday nights), and although there were no seats left by the band, the aesthetic was so pleasant and beautiful that we ended up staying for drinks, and later ordering dinner even though we had already eaten! As someone who doesn't like a lot of the food in Seattle, this place will definitely have me returning. Delicious cocktails. Fried polenta w/ duck ragu was delicately made and cooked to perfection. My friend got the gnocci and loved the sauce so much that she ordered extra bread to eat it with. Only getting 4 stars because the food was pricy and service wasn't that great! Would recommend
Fifteen years ago we stumbled upon a GRAND OPENING sign and had the great fortune of being the first customers of Pietro and Sabrina at Osteria La Spiga. We spent the next 4 hours of so being treated to amazing wines and even more amazing food. Since then, every important event in our lives includes a dinner at La Spiga. It has moved, grown, expanded the menu and somehow managed to get better every year. We have been to Italy. Osteria La Spiga has the best Italian food we have ever experienced. If you are in Seattle and have a chance to go, don't hesitate. The lasagna is always, always amazing. Last night's special was gnocchi with braised wild boar and it melted in your mouth. My rack of lamb was served hot and perfectly seasoned and also melted in the mouth. The wine was perfect, the service was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect and the evening was perfect.
COCKTAILS: GIN – The Tiny Italian was refreshing but not too sweet. I 100% recommend it.
APPETIZERS: We had the half board Prosciutto appetizer. This easily is enough for 3 people. It was delicious! You can tell the prosciutto was freshly cut.
DINNER: Out of the items we had I would recommend the Tortelli Al Porcini! If you like Truffle, this is the one for you! It was perfect!
DESSERT: Ok so we typically don’t get dessert but we did this night and OMG I am so happy we did! We had the Panna Cotta Al Caramello dessert! I’m telling you its nothing we’ve ever had before and it was oh so good! The texture is similar to flan, its light, its fluffy, it wiggles ha ha. If you are full, I promise you, you will make room for this dessert, its that good!
I ordered the veal, fegatini, prosciutto, artichoke (stir fried?) dish. I was pleasantly surprised to find the chicken liver did not taste liver-y at all. I could have been told it was ground pork and I would have believed it. The dish was a little on the salty side though.
The decor was great. The place was surprisingly spacious and well decorated. The dishes were well presented too.
Service was good. Water was filled often. Waiter was attentive but not overly so, and was willing to split checks after we got the whole check.
Nick, our server, was super knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The food and drinks were great too. There was great live music and the owner was floating around and involved. Just overall a great experience and restaurant. We'll definitely be back!
I was really happy with dinner here tonight. I had the Barrel of Two Tears cocktail, which was the first I've ever liked with Fernet in it (not too much), the fried cauliflower (delicious), and the tagliatelle with white truffle butter (super). Also the tiramisu (very solid). The only off note was the espresso, which was poorly made and sour. Very pretty space, respectable if not overly warm service, and great food.
I had the caprese salad and the gnocchetti al pesto. Both were delicious. The heirloom tomatoes in the caprese salad were so good and tasted really fresh. The service was friendly and I really like the look of the inside.
Restaurant is very impressive ambiance wise but food wasn't that great and with very limited vegetarian options. Quantity is not sufficient for dinner as well. Food was bland and worst was its bread. It was so undercooked as if we are eating raw dough.
Waiter was in some kind of hurry. Didn't even ask for drinks (which is weird for a Italian restaurant). We had to ask for bread.. and then for olive oil too.
Go for ambiance if you are that kind of person. Food and service will not impress you.
This is one of my favorites in Seattle, great airy space, the food is fresh and authentic and the wife and husband team that run this restaurant keep us all coming back for more. Sitting at the bar on a packed Saturday night but with all the safety checks for covid.
I went to Osteria la Spiga last night for the first time. I'd been wandering around the Hill, trying to decide what to eat. I was craving Italian food and decided to give it a try. I had the gnocchi pomodoro (sp?). I thought it was good. It wasn't the best pasta I've ever had, but it hit the spot.
I thought the service was great. I ate at the bar. The bartender patiently explained some of the dishes and chatted with everyone at the bar. It was a jazz night, and I was sitting next to some people who were friends of the musician.
The restaurant is a bit out of budget for me these days, so I don't think I'll be eating another dinner there for a while. But I would eat there again, and I will be headed back for a glass of wine at the bar on another jazz night.
Food tasted great, however there was a giant piece of onion in my dessert, along with small pieces of something else foreign.
Great atmosphere in the heart of Seattle. Service was excellent! Great wine list and cocktail bar menu. All entrees were spot on for flavor! Thumbs up!
I've stopped here several times for the live piano music (weekends), but tonight is the first time I actually sat down to dinner. The service was fantastic, the drinks were good, the dinner was better. I recommend giving this place a visit. Good date location.
The modern decor and mood of this place is unbeatable. I wish the service and food followed suit. While I can't say the food was bad (it wasn't), it was very much overpriced. The waitstaff seems fairly knowledgeable, but the service was very slow. With the wide variety of restaurants available on the hill, I don't see myself coming back here anytime soon.
The most wonderful experience and great food. Up scale, regional Italian food with amazing service. To me the price point is $$ or $$$. The 2 of us easily spent $150 for 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and 2 rounds of drinks.
Decided very last minute to visit this restaurant on New Year's Eve. We were a party of two. We made the appointment on open table and when we arrived our table was ready right away. The energy in the restaurant was great because it was New Year's Eve but also had a beautiful open floor plan and open kitchen style. This a allowed all the fragrances and the energy and hustle and bustle of the kitchen to be previewed by the restaurant guests. The restaurant is split into 2 levels the top floor which is has like faulted ceilings and the bottom floor which also has high ceilings and beautiful large windows. I have never been here before but feel like a energy is great for groups and dates and business meetings.
The food is kind of an authentic Italian cuisine with a traditional Italian layered menu with 1st 2nd and 3rd courses. We ordered and shared the pracuttio for appetizer, a salad for second course and a bolognese Italian pasta as our main meal. The pasta was fresh made from scratch and cooked al dente as well as the sauce.
The server was not great at all. We ordered a bottle of wine and had to practically pour it ourselves the entire time period. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that it was New Year's Eve and her attention was elsewhere else. And for that reason I was tempted to give this a 4 star however I will dine here once again before I make a decision on the service. Over all thought this place was quite lovely and I think it would be a perfect place for anyone to visit if you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine with a charming vibe.
I came here only once and it was on a voucher. The food was pretty good and the dining room is spacious and nice but there were several things that troubled me about our experience.
1. Upon arrival we did not receive a friendly greeting by the hostesses. We were taken to our seats without essentially a word.
2. Our table was in the worst possible location. I had a reservation and the dining room was almost completely empty but yet they took us all of the way to the back and seated us in a little corner by ourselves. Not by the front window, not by the large back window, not upstairs, but in a dark corner.
3. We were not told on the voucher that we had a very limited menu to order each course off of. We were given two options for all four courses and some of them I would have never really picked.
4. They did switch us tables after we asked them but then it took forever for anyone to come serve us.
For our meal we had some very good salads, a sausage dish with rice that was good and enough to share but nothing that special, a very good homemade bolognese dish, and tiramisu, plus two glasses of wine. I thought the food was pretty good but because of the four reasons above I probably won't come back.
This is easily my favorite Italian restaurant in seattle. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the truffle fettuccine. Also the lasagna Verde is delicious, as is the ragu.I'm not usually a red meat sauce type of person, but Sabrina's (the chef and owner, along with her husband Pietro) ragu is fantastic!
If they have the crostinis on the appetizer menu they are phenomenal! A crostini toast, smear of In-House made chicken liver pate, small piece of seared beef tenderloin, and a drizzle of truffle oil. I've actually stolen this recipe and made it for guests at home and it's always a huge hit!
Sabrina's husband Pietro works the front of the house and is the quintessential charmer! He always greets you with a smile and make sure you're well taken care of.
You can also tell that their staff is well taken care of. They are always very attentive and professional.
This is definitely a Seattle mainstay.
OK, but not great. Currently overpriced, perhaps to make up for pandemic related lost revenue. My measure of worthiness is "can I make this at home?" and the resounding answer is "yes"..so why pay for nothing special?
The food here is out of this world, but the service is appalling. I walked in one evening and was told there were no tables. I found several open reservations online, and made one for ten minutes from then and went back in. I was told I was way too early and was going to have to be patient. I didn't expect them to take me early. Then I was told they were out of tables despite several empty tables sitting at the front of the restaurant. The hostess told me they never upgrade people from a table to a booth and that I should consider myself lucky. She went on about how lucky I was to be sitting by the live music in a booth. I found it to be extremely condescending. I was a paying customer. They should be lucky to have my business. The server wasn't very nice either. I felt we were an inconvenience. I was told not to bother sitting at the tables and to only go to the bar. If I go in again and have another horrible customer service experience then I'll definitely never go back.
We'll start with the good: the live jazz gave the restaurant a great cozy feel and tagliatelle al burro di tartufo here tastes phenomenal. However, it only came after our party waited for an hour an a half for our entrees to come out, despite the restaurant being half empty on a Thursday night. What initially would've been a nice birthday dinner and flight send-off ended up being a long game of "where's our food?" The wait staff apparently missed the FIRE key and ended up derailing the night for us.
Went here for the first time last night, despite the Pride Festival traffic on the streets this was a relaxing get a way from the crowds. The atmosphere is amazing, there was an amazing woman singing live music, the staff went above and beyond to explain the menu items, and when the food came out it was AMAZING!
Good Italian! Definitely not in the top half of Italian in seattle (ie spinasse, cantinetta) but will suffice.
Awesome rustic atmosphere and very good food. Portions are somewhat smaller than some other places, but make up for it in taste. A must-go if you love Italian food.
Outstanding fresh pasta. Good service. On par with any Italian food we’ve eaten anywhere. Great non-tomato dishes for the nightshade sensitive.
My husband and I travel frequently to Italy and lived there for a year. The food at La Spiga is very authentically Italian. Pasta is perfectly al dents and sauced. I noticed a comment of “not enough sauce” among some comments. Italians do no oversauce, the objective is to balance the two.
We had the prosciutto appetizer, the prosciutto we were told is cut off the bone in house and is delicious. It is deeply flavored and not salty, served with balsamic mustard. Our primavera salad had top quality fresh butter lettuce and crispy fried baby artichokes..delicious. Truffle pasta was perfect, very rich and flavorful especially with the addition of the freshly grated Parmesan.
Their wine list is all Italian. We only chose the white and were well guided by Dominic at the bar. He is very knowledgeable, kind and patient in talking about both wine and food.
The ambiance is lovely and the noise level good. There was a great soundtrack playing of contemporary pop at a level that allowed normal conversation, but kept the room lively.
Prices are inline for Seattle and this level of restaurant.
The owner, Pietro, is hands on and gracious enough to come and talk to us. That level of commitment is always appreciated and mark of a good establishment.
If you want a trip to Italy without buying the plane ticket, come here!
Delicious!! Great service and nice ambiance. I will definitely go back.
Wanted to try this place since a long time and finally came here for restaurant week. For appetizers we tried the Gnocco Fritto (fried bread puffs) and the Uova in Funghetto. Both were okay, with the bread puffs being quite bland. The best part between the appetizers was the proscuitto that came with the Gnocco Fritto.
For mains, we got the fish of the day & the beer braised pork shank. Both were served with roasted potatoes. The potatoes will crispy on the outside were uncooked in the middle. Overall the dishes were quite bland. For dessert we tried the mascarpone and the Panna cotta. The Panna cotta was the best part of the meal! Delicious! Overall, was a bit disappointed by the food. Would maybe give it another chance to try out their pastas.
lovely restaurant with delicious food, fantastic wine, & servers willing to give you a truly memorable experience
Great food every single time. Guests from out of town love it and it's a nice place to hit before going out to the bars. Only complaint is the slow or uneducated service. Hit or miss. Otherwise, food is always great though temp can be off.
Delicious! The chef is a talented, self trained, and actually lived in Italy for quite some time. After talking with her, she even made a delicious gazpacho for me that wasn't on the menu. I love this place!
Sooo so good. If you're looking for American-Italian food, this is NOT your spot. Everything is very fresh & homemade, which translates to delicious. I can't even pick a favorite because everything I've had has been wonderful, but I encourage you to be adventurous here! You won't be disappointed.
Tried out restaurant week menu and had the soup of the day, gnocco fritto, tagliatelle all tartufo, guancia do maiale, panna cotta, and mascarpone. The soup of the day was squash and fennel. It was yummy and comforting. The fried bread puffs and prosciutto in the gnocco fritto was interesting, especially with the balsamic mustard which was seedy and pasty (not really a sauce). The entrees were small in portion but the guancia was well-braised and cooked well. It was moist but easily forked apart. Can't say much for the tagliatelle, except it's just pasta drizzled in truffle butter. Single note, almost bland. Adding the parmagiano cheese and black pepper helped. My dinner date's favorite is the panna cotta, which had slightly burnt caramel drizzle instead of the berries. The mascarpone wasn't too sweet but was presented in a shapeless lump. Overall, a decent experience with wonderful service and atmosphere but the food didn't cut it for me.
The aesthetic is wonderful and I could imagine the patio lovely in the summer. Service was solid. The food was disappointing, small portions and the bolognese was underwhelming relative to what the city has to offer.
This is not a one $ restaurant as shown on Google search -- not sure if this is edited by the restaurant or reader reviews. If the former then our meals were $17-18 each, so would say it is at least $$ if they want to be honest about it. My family really liked the food, and mine was good as well but not the kind of Italian menu I was expecting (ie no chicken parm, etc).
Well known as One of best Italian Restaurant in world. Handmade famous Italian Pasta and most iconic dishes of Emilia Romagna Region of Bologna.
Directly owned and managed by Pietro Borghesi and his wife Sabrina Executive Chef. That s just a Guarantee.
Excellent wine liste with American European and Italian Wines as your Taste.
If you like Italian wines is your place.
Last month I did nt reserve table and it was full booked. I suggest you if you like taste Real Italian high Level Cuisine....reserve !
Great service. Appetizer (mini pizza) was good. Dinner was good but the dessert- apple tart was absolutely perfect. If you only go for dessert it would be worthwhile.
Wow! The food is amazing, they have a great happy hour food and drink menu and the servers are both knowledgeable and amiable. All evening happy hour on Mondays! I'm definitely going back
This is a wonderful restaurant. From the prosciutto starter to the Panna Cotta, the wines and dessert drinks to the main course and pasta, all were excellent and highly recommended. The staff were excellent in all aspects.
Good happy hour menu! Nice interior. The pasta is all hand made and perfectly al dente. Lasagna that melts in your mouth. Good sauces. Not too pricey for the quality or neighborhood.
I LOVE how they prepare eggplant, the seafood salad antipasto with lemon- perfetto ! Service is attentive and friendly, and you can actually have a conversation, and hear and be heard here. La Spiga is reliably delicious.
Delicious! Excellent Service! Prices are steep, but the ambiance is so worth going. They even had live jazz music with a piano and an upright bass in the middle of the room. So great!
My family took me to LA Spiga on Sunday. Great, beautiful space. We had a reservation and got right in. Our server was attentive, but not overly. Our first course was fried piadina bread served with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and eggplant with salsa verde. It was very tasty although I didn't eat the eggplant. I hate eggplant. Anyway the fat little pillows of piadina were delicate, delicious and tasty with the mozzarella and prosciutto.
Our second course was all four of the classic handmade pastas. Gnocchi pomodoro - perfect. Some idiot on a prior review said it tasted like spaghettios. That person should probably stick to Olive Garden and Bucca di Beppo. The gnocchi is handmade. The scratch sauce has had all the tomato seeds milled out, (the recipe is from the Italian proprietor's Mother!), it tastes bright and intensely of tomato tossed hot with Parmagiano melted into the sauce - just as it should be. The tagliatelle with ragu was flawless. Perfectly al dente, just enough of the rich meat ragu tossed with parmigiano and still nice and hot. The tagliatelle with truffle butter and parmigiano was perfectly al dente and tossed with truffle butter and parmigiano. Best for last - the lasagne is a masterpiece. Layers of ragu and bescamel create a magnificent combination of mouthfeel and complex flavors that combine into the best lasagne in the city.
We had a large house salad as a last course. It was perfectly dressed with a simple vinaigrette made with high end, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Simple and perfect, like all menu items at La Spiga. They sent us a dessert sampler, as it was Father's day and we were clearly there for that reason. The Panna cotta with berries was excellent, vanilla, berries and creamy Panna cotta. The taramisu is perfect - I like it better than any other taramisu I've ever had. There was also a tasty grappa cake that my kids didn't appreciate as my wife and I did.
Run, don't walk to La Spiga. They have been doing the same thing the same way since they opened. As a veteran chef of 24 years I can tell you that you can trust that you will be very pleased with the authentic, simple fare and hospitality offered by La Spiga.
Amazing restaurant! We had our wedding reception in the mezzanine and it was magical. Wonderful service and had food. All of our guests left stuffed. Highly recommended!
Nice staff, good drinks, wonderful food, reasonable prices, able to accommodate gluten/dairy dietary restrictions. Not unusual to hear Italian being spoken by other customers, which is encouraging in an Italian restaurant.
I really wanted to like Osteria La Spiga. The service was very nice and the setting is one of Seattle's largest industrial rustic spaces. The food just didn't follow suite. I just expected more flavor and spice.
DELICIOUS gnocchi (and bread, wine, everything...)! I've been here twice for birthdays and loved it both times. It has big wooden tables, high ceilings, and and simple but pretty decor.
Great Italian place, love that we can always walk in. Restaurant week offerings a bit not special considering the economical prices usually at la spiga. Steak was delicious though. And Chestnut torta good, though very bitsy. Panzanella/bread cheese starter on rest. Week menu alright.
Great place for Italian! Had my birthday dinner here a couple years ago and the staff was very accommodating. I love the atmosphere/feel of this restaurant. Kind of loft-life with lots of natural light.
Best happy hour menu I've ever seen. No, seriously. It's stellar! Fantastic for grazing and sharing. And the happy hour well martini? Nothing to complain about there either.
We had a great time here! A group of 4. We ordered like 9 things and loved everything. Fresh, simple and lighter fare for Italian - just as promised.
Really loved this restaurant. Went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Had the Prosciutto appetizer, Tortelli ai Porcini and Tagliatelle al Ragu. The dishes were excellent.
Recently visited as a part of a small wedding reception after far too long an absence. Family style event service stayed top notch in quality with a variety of options for each course, plus gluten-free alternatives as needed.
Food is bland and nothing different than any other Italian place. Good service and atmosphere but the food isn’t worth it.
I have no words except please leave room for tiramisù. And try Chinotto maybe
This restaurant is been uber-popular since it opened several years ago. The food and the ambiance never disappoint--I recommend the lasagne or the pasta with black truffles. The wine list is fantastic with new world and old world options.
Dont want to sound white trash, but dis place fanceh. The ambiance was quite gentle and the food rich. More on the spendy side, but the quality made it worth it. Service was well informed and diligent without being obnoxious.
This is one of the best places to eat in Seattle. The staff is VERY friendly, and the menu is varied and extremely authentic. It is across from Plum Café, which is also an excellent place if you eat vegan food.
Nearby, if you get a craving for fries, Petriosso is the place to go. Also, Petriosso has lower prices.
Great time. Cocktails were on point. Our server was fun. 4 star because my grilled Copper River salmon was a little disappointing
My perfect meal here starts with an extraordinary cocktail, the CAIPIROSHKA DELLA PASSIONE (it's spicy!), and then the refreshing Insalata Mista, the piadina romagnola bread triangles, and the formidable, untouchable TAGLIATELLE AL BURRO DI TARTUFO. You're in flavor country now.
Solid place for a nice Italian dinner. Great wine selection. The food was good, though portions were a little underwhelming. Great ambience.
The salad and prosciutto plate I had was terrific. Sat on the back deck for lunch, it was so nice. The service staff was wonderful, very accommodating. Love this place!
Fantastic food, wine list and great service in a beautiful family run restaurant. Emilia Romagna cusine brought to Seattle by Sabrina and Pietro. We are so lucky in Seattle!
Best Lasagna I've ever had in a restaurant. Atmosphere was very nice and the service was excellent. Extensive wine collection with a lot of old world wines.
Very Italian. Simple foods exquisitely prepared. Beautiful setting. The tagliatelle were fresh and perfectly al dente. Don't miss the panna cotta with berry sauce.
The food was delicious, the service was great, but the passion fruit specialty cocktail was AMAZING. Tasted like a creamsicle!
A favorite in Seattle and always delighted to have come. The gnochhi fritti are a great appetizer, there are always wonderful seasonal specials and they have an amazing wine list.
Excellent meal ! Great night out!
It was a pleasure eating here, as always. Great service and amazing food. Especially their patio seating, when raining is beautiful and an amazing experience.
Delicious food. Portions are small but they put a lot of butter and it can fill you up quickly. Rather pricey.
Excellent service and beautiful food. Extensive wine menu and service staff were very knowledgeable on selection. Will definitely be coming back!
I love this place - my favorite chill Italian place that always has an open table. Their spinach lasagna is really good, and their gnocchi-esque bread is great.
Came here for restaurant week. The food is decent but I probably wouldn't come back considering the price. There are definitely better Italian restaurants in the area in this price range
Upscale with a beautiful interior. Food was great but overpriced for the portion sizes. Wines were also really expensive. Only worth it for a happy hour.
On 12th, there is a block stretch of ritzy date spots. If you're going for a speakeasy feel with fancy American, you want Tavern Law. If you're feeling Mexican or an impressive tequila selection, Barrio. La Spiga is all about wine selection and handmade pasta. It has a reclaimed, refined feel with oak floors, tall displays of wine, and vaulted, exposed brick ceilings. What's more, the service is perfectly en pointe.
My friends and I were visiting from out of town and had dinner here one night. The food was amazing as were the drinks. The atmosphere was excellent and the service prompt and attentive.
Heather! All I can say is excellent food, with options for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. And Heather! She was excellent, always tended to our needs without being intrusive. Thank you!
Chocolate orange custard gelato and white truffle linguini are amazing. Fresh homemade pasta every day. Excellent service and a great wine list.
La Spiga always delivers! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food is some of the best Italian food I have had. It is really amazing!
Food was good, service was bad. We had a pretentious waitress that was non existent after taking our order. Good luck getting refills on drinks like soda or ice tea.
The ragu here is one of my all-time favorites. Classic and simple. The pasta is fresh and are all well balanced dishes. Dominic, the wine steward, is fabulous!
Delicious food and drinks, nice atmosphere!
Italian: Spacious new digs are open and bustling. The food is interesting...but everything seems a little on the starchy side. An antipasti selection of meats was unimaginative and the riccota gnocchi were coronary pills.
Unique dishes, great atmosphere and the staff are awesome. A bit pricey for the size of the entrees but hey, its Seattle. Highly recommend.
Very yummy pasta and great service. Highly recommend ordering all the bread options and some anti pasta appetizers! So yummy!
The lasagna was slightly burnt. The small side dish salad was heavily seasoned. Portions are not in correlation to price. Overall, only OK.
Fine selection of italian food for any diet. Standard, gluten free, vegitarian and vegan selections. Good wine and great service!
It's been a while since I've been here. I remember the food and service was 5 star. I also remember that you need to pay to park till 10 pm around here which is unusual for Seattle
Emilia-Romagna inspired cuisine! Check out a regional specialty, piadina flat bread! Great bar also
Very accommodating since we had gotten there about 10 minutes before close, the food was fantastic, and the mocktail we had was also really great.
Fresh pasta is amazing. Service is outstanding. We went twice during recent trip to Seattle. Excellent.
Good food and atmosphere. Beautiful building. Can accommodate large groups (8+). Great espresso.
Dinner on a Monday evening. The food was great, although bit small on the portion. Their house red was excellent, a sagiovisie
Our favorite Italian restaurant. Unerringly authentic. Cool room. Friendly service. Don’t overlook weekday lunches.
Amazing food and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely try this place out - and you'll be back!
Two of our orders were wrong. Waitstaff acted annoyed when we asked for the correct order the first time so we didn’t bother having the second order corrected. The food was good.
Top notch Italian food. Super authentic northern Italian food. It was super pricey for Italian food. It would make a great date night place.
Eat here regularly. Excellent quality food in a really lovely space. It's expensive (rightfully) but happy hour is a steal.
Our favorite Italian restaurant. Great happy hour. To die for food. The lasagna melts in your mouth. Fabulous.
Fantastic Italian food in a wonderful atmosphere. Great for groups of friends or if I ever find a date I know I'll be coming back here
Impeccably delicious ink pasta and Panna Cotta. So excited to return and relish is a new plate under this large and airy venue
This is probably the best northern Italian restaurant I've been to outside of northern Italy. The food is incredible and the wine selection is great.
Everyone (there were 5 of us) really enjoyed their meal. Only negative was getting luke warm coffee with dessert.
Delicious food, impressive staff! Everyone was extremely helpful and on top of things. Fantastic drinks!
Hands down best Italian restaurant in Seattle and one of the few places you can taste authentic Italian food.
Hands Down Best Italian in Seattle. For 18 years they've been consistently making fresh pasta that will win the hearts of anyone in minutes.
Pretty delicious meals. Access to the restrooms have stairs. Not very accessible if you or loved one have mobility issues.
Our local goto Italian. Delicious pasta, some excellent typically meaty dishes, and a fabo wine selection. Hightly recommended.
Excellent meal, very cool space. Went with a group of 40 in the upstairs space and had impeccable service. A tremendous experience 👌 …
good gnocchi and desserts! everything else was okay. not one of the best italian places in seattle, though.
Absolutely the best restaurant on Capitol Hill. The wine selection is amazing and the food is even better. This is the place to impress your date!
Just ok, nothing special about the lasagna that everyone raves about. Rather bland, little meat in the "meat sauce" tasted more like a TV dinner and my mother in laws lasagna rocks it out more than this.
Good pasta, delivious tiramisu
They make their pastas fresh. One of their popular ones is the squid ink. However, their customer service can be amiss at times.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants. Delicious food and a great atmosphere.
Great place and amazing food with good wine list
I love the verde lasagna! Beautiful atmosphere and great place to take parents/out of town guests/date night/or ladies night... Very well rounded place!
Wait staff was amazing. The food was a little under loved but still great. Rustic af
Delicious Italian food, you really can't go wrong with anything you order. A little pricey, but it's still fantastic.
First time here and we were suitably impressed with both the service and the quality of our meals. Will be going back!
Food isn't bad, but I expected a lot more for the prices. I make better homemade pasta myself.
Share the tartuffo desert. It is large, rich, delicious, and has a surprising amount of caffeine (hence, the 2am restaurant review).
Excellent service. Great food. Participated in Seattle restaurant week.
Great food and wine. Sabrina and Petro have truly nailed it by bringing real Italian taste in Seattle!
Super-friendly service. Tasty, fresh pasta. Delicious dessert. What more could you want?
Possibly the best Italian restaurant in the area. The only downside is they were out of a few things but we did visit during Restaurant Week.
If you want to go for a romantic dinner, this is the best place to do it. The place has an amazing atmosphere and delicious food
Everything here is amazing! Try their truffle butter pasta, you won't be disappointed!
Good food. The octopus appetizer and caprese salad are fabulous. Service is decent.
Service increadable, food wonderful, a little on the loud side. And as I would expect at a restaurant like this $$$, but a very good experience.
All tasty food. Or party had 5 different combo sets from the restaurant week menu.
Great space, even better food.
Very nice restaurant with delicious food and knowledgeable, friendly staff. The bathroom is back out the front door and downstairs.
Amazing Italian food and great cocktails, come here for date night.
I'd do it again
Underwhelming. Had rabbit with pasta. Almost no sauce. They couldn't manage to produce an alfredo sauce for a child diner.
Live music(Thursday and Saturdays) to set the mood, delicious food and great drinks; won't be disappointed. Give it a try!
Ask for Derek he is the man. Explains menu well and great recommendations. Food is good not too much money and great portions.
I love going to happy hour at La Spiga. Always good and the pasta is so fresh.
Outstanding have a private dinner party for 10 family style of restaurants choice couldn't have been a better experience
The food is great, and the building is Seattle cool. Highly recommend eating here!
Good food, service and ambiance. My favorite dish was the Uova a funghetto.
Tasty Italian. Solid. Great service.
Impeccable authentic Italian cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. I could not recommend this more.
Excellent menu and friendly atmosphere, can't wait to go back!
A very good true Italian restaurant in Seattle, great menu selection.
Very classy restaurant! Food came out really fast and the live music was very good!
Food was amazing and the service was great. Felt like I was back in Italy.
Beautiful place, good food and sometimes has live jazz, which makes for a great ambiance
The food is excellent, and a steal at happy hour prices. Highly recommend.
Great vegan options, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff are very nice.
The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The drinks were amazing. The setting is amazing
Fine Italian food, good service, pleasant atmosphere, not too noisy.
Fresh pasta, great cocktails, beautiful building.
delicious food and great service ! would recommend the gnocchi and the tiramisu !
Great food and good prices. The atmosphere is awesome!
Fabulous food, service, and atmosphere. Top knotch every time.
Beautiful ambiance, people and food. Dominique was amazing. Can’t wait to return!
Went for dinner. Food was okay. Drinks were good and wait staff is good too
Foos was super good and staff was really nice! I recommend this apple tart!
Excellent food and very good service. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great drinks! and the truffle pasta is to die for!
Great food, service and ambiance!
Decent food. Unfortunately the main dishes are snack sized
Really exquisite Italian food and good service in a lofty repurposed warehouse space.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Everyone was happy. Thanks.
Delicious food and great vibe all around!
Very elegant and great staff. Excellent dining experience.
My favorite Italian restaurant in WA. Love everything about it!
Great food and even better people. We had a great experience.
Good service, beautiful setting, good food, extensive wine list.
LOVELY RESTAURANT, GREAT SERVICE!
PROSCIUTTO was best I've tasted
The best food, best ambiance and the best people in Seattle! Love this place!!!
Beautiful ambiance and incredible food. Do not miss out!
Decent Italian food. Enjoyed the atmosphere
Good food, drinks, atmosphere; but fairly expensive
La Spiga is always AMAZING. Great place to celebrate.
Food was exceptional. Staff was friendly and helpful
Food was excellent, Service was exceptional and the atmosphere is excellent
One of our favorites in Seattle. Wonderful food, ambiance, and service.
Great place, great people, great northern Italian food!
The outdoor seating was very cute.
This is a very good restaurant I give it a four-star rating.
Fantastic Italian food, I'd definitely recommend it
Excellent customer service! The food is tasty and wonderful!
Food was fantastic and wait staff afforded great service.
The lasagna just melts in your mouth.. amazing food and service!
Delicious food and excellent service for a good price.

The truffle butter noodles are delicious!
Great atmosphere and space, just a wee bot overpriced but worth for the service received.
Authentic Italian food with beautiful ambience
Good food and nice jazz piano
Amazing wine, amazing food, amazing staff!!!
Pasta was chewy and hard. Service was puzzlingly incompetent.
Go here if you love paying too much for mediocre food with extra small portions.

I have attended the La Spiga tavern since 1998 and have always been divinely! It has always been like eating in Italy, or rather in Romagna!
Wonderful people who have always focused on quality, always hitting the mark!
Well done!!!
A corner of Italy in the heart of Seattle where excellent cuisine and warm Italian hospitality reign
Dieses schöne,äußerst freundliche Restaurant war der perfekte Abschluss unseres Seattle aufenthaltes. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen!
I love this place, especially gnocco fritto and the tagliatelle al tartuffo
