Reviews of Ocean Star
Brian Huie
The first time I came here was when I took my grandmother out to lunch (Dim sum) - the moment she told me it was her favorite place, I knew I was going to love it. The second time I came through was with my driver and his large Lincoln Navigator - we tried going to there other restaurants before I remembered Ocean Star has a ginormous parking lot! Who has parking in Chinatown?! Ocean star does. Now I returned for a sounders game and it’s still wonderful. Great food, extremely attentive and helpful staff, and I’ll go ahead and repeat the great food again! I had the Veggie foo Yong (thicker and tastier than others), veggie fried rice (tastier than others veggie FR), and honey walnut prawns.
Suwida
No wait line but have to write down my order, I prefer when they bring the carts around instead. The dim sum was good except for mango pudding and red bean coconut pudding. Watch out when you order because it can get pretty pricey.
Ken Ng
Fresh taste. Nice quality Dim Sum. Only order by item selection at the moment. The menu has a majority of the items but missing some of the items we like. Overall enjoyed our meal and would come back.

Went here when we really wanted dim sum with no wait or frills. Pretty basic menu, but they didn’t have rice noodles/rolls when we came. That was the only downside. Chili oil had good flavor and everything came out fast. I’ll most likely go again if my usual go-to isn’t so busy.
Scott Robertson
When we go out for Chinese food it's mos def for the food, rather then atmosphere. Service was adequate on a busy night.
Note:. The parking here is about the best you will do at a restaurant in the international district in Seattle.
Ed Stefanski
Loved the Dim Sum, flavors were fantastic and prices were fair. My only comment would be that each individial item was very large. I am used to smaller portions which allows for more variety per meal.
John Gerhard
I have been going to Ocean Star for many years. I have always enjoyed the dim sum experience. The food is comforting and served in a relaxing environment.
Ocean Star is one of the few places in the international district that has free parking!!
CK F
They have a parking lot, with accessible spots, which was one reason it was conducive to our first visit. Otherwise we’re a little put off from eating in the international district. But the food was good. And they had Dim sum available at night, which i think of as unusual. The Pork buns were fairly bready, and could’ve used more pork. The Sweet and sour chicken was fairly good, and the kung pao chicken had a surprising good spicy kick to it. Decent prices.

Are is here my opinion as a chef, Asian fusion , French and American cuisines. This place is better than I thought. I thought it would be more Americanized. So, I ordered mostly traditional Chinese dishes. All the dishes we ordered were good with the exception of the scallion Oyster. The oyster breading was too much and over cooked. Also it was way too much white onion and didn’t taste the actual oyster. The black chicken soup is quite good with good flavor. The steam claim with ginger was cooked just right, tender and very favorable. The deep fry pigeon was ok, good taste. I also ordered garlic steam Dungeness crab. It was done perfectly.
I can’t comment Americanized dishes since I don’t usually order those. I like to stick to traditional Italian, French, Asian cuisine.
The service was very good and very attentive.
Price wise, well I ordered quite a lots of seafood so the tab was a bit higher than normal. Overall, I think it is between $$ - $$$.
I will definitely come again.

Ocean Star has a great selection of Chinese food. I like the dim sum and the crispy pork chop. They have free but limited parking out front so check it first before paying for expensive street parking. The staff is very attentive, but at time can be inconsiderate as they vacuum literally at your feet as you dine.
Skywalker Feng
This is one of the better Cantonese dim sum restaurant in China town area, with decent food, reasonable price, and fast service. A lot of elder Cantonese people living nearby seem to go here for dim sum on daily basis, which is a good indication about the overall quality of this place.
Vincent Ng
We have been to couple of Dim Sum places in Seattle but never been to this one. We decided this past weekend to give it a shot. It’s pretty big and clean inside and employees are pretty friendly. We like the environment there and not as noisy like most other dim sum places. Food was good and they constantly coming back to your table ask if we need anything else. I highly recommend it.
Karl Dahlgren
A lot of variety, everything very authentic and fresh ingredients. Wonderful place to go to late Sundays when moat places are closed. Easy to park right outside, and fast service.
Chancey Homan
Dim Sum Yum! Don't keep wondering or driving around, the parking is on site, service is prompt, food is amazing!! It's a little pricey but worth it! Clean and with ample seating. We were stopping in between appointments and this was a perfect delicious site and you can always tell when there's a lot of Chinese people, it's a trusted tasty place ;).
Ivanna Vdovich
We stumbled upon this delightful place after a really disappointing 30 minute wait, no service at a restaurant that had come highly recommended. And let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. Quick service, very hospitable staff, extremely well-maintained, comfy decor, and fantastic portion sizes. As soon as we took the first bite, no one came up for air until we were all done. The food was excellent and very satisfying. This is definitely a place I will be going back to when I'm in the area.
Jacques Manuel (JM)
My most visited dim sum place, around average.
Katrina Arieff
They have great Dim Sum. Certain servers sometimes have a tendency to only bring the cart with the more 'common for Americans' dishes and the dishes that maybe more authentic or 'exotic' will go right past as if they already know that we will not be interested in eating them. That is a little irritating but oh well....AL you have to do is ask and they will bring it to you. The last time I came for takeout and brought it home unfortunately, all the meat was undercooked. My potstickers we mush and raw in the middle, my chicken was, stringy and very uncooked pink, and the fried rice was not so fried and had no flavor. The quality of the food and service has gone down quickly since the covid mandate was put to rest, which is really sad because this was a really nice place to go for any occasion whether it was for birthdays, holidays, business, and even on GameDay for pregame dim sum! It was a great replacement of Sun Ya. But now, Sun Ya is greatly missed. Step up your game Ocean Star! GET BACK ON THE BALL!
nathan furney
BBQ pork came hot which i thought was weird but it was still tasty. SUPER nice staff.
David B. Cross
It is OK dim sum, but it takes a long time to get service and attention. You can only order dishes, they do not wheel the carts around.
Nancy
A good dim sum restaurant with good regular dishes. Nothing extraordinary in terms of taste or diversity of dishes, but prices are reasonable. Given the huge population of Asians, I expected better, so I probably wouldn't come here again. Service was ok as well. The parking lot is small, but I've come to understand that's normal in Seattle.
somkietr rojanasathit
Good authentic Chinese cuisine. Good service with reasonable price.
Maria B
Huge place, the service is a bit confusing, but the food was pretty good. The salt & pepper tofu really sticks out in my mind, it was delicious.
Roy C.
Best Dimsum and Chinese food. Better than Honey Court
Bruce Blesor
Good food, dim sum is the best! 😋 😉
PoChi Chu
It is medium to low quality of the dim sum. Also, a little bit overly priced.
Place is nicely clean and a nice parking.
Israel Amador
Good food, nice service, and hilarious names for drinks, also PARKING?! They had “football” and it was amazing, highly recommend.
Linda M. Bagley
I don't normally give a 3 star review but but this place really needs a good cleaning good cleaning. The windows are disaster inside and out and the interior could use cleaning as well. The food was great the service was fair.
Tomoko Clark
Always good dim sums. Hope the traditional wagon style comes back soon!
Tracy Sumaoang
Love the food here. One of my faves, even after ownership change. Service excellent, very friendly staff.
Gordon Baldwin
The dim sum has been really good. It's still good but the service has declined along with a bit of the quality. Still will be one of our go to places before games.
Jennifer Chan
The dim sum was limited and just ok. To be fair it was a Wednesday at lunchtime when we were there. Also being from NYC we have a higher bar when it comes to dim sum. They did recommend a unique dish that we haven’t had before. Crispy fried flat noodles in a sauce. Pretty good. Didn’t care for the pig’s stomach.
Mark “Sammie hubbard” Williams
Yummy yummy curry chicken ! Please just a little bit more meat next time no so much of da saucy
Tia Brown
Egg foo young was yummy and staff so kind and helpful! Have a wonderful day!
Adrina Rivera
We have been coming here for over almost two decades. However, it used to be SunYa when we came. Food is still amazing. 💖 …
Curtis Nelson
Very good Dim Sum that they make to order instead of rolling them by on carts.
Reasonably priced.
They did cross-contaminate and hit my fish allergy but I'm not blaming them because I didn't tell them about me in advance.
I will go back again.
David Lee
The food was flavorful and we'll cooked. The appearance was not so great. Curb appeal certainly is not there. Based on the exterior we wondered if this place would be any good. Once inside we doubted even more. It was not well lit, seems a bit messy and dirty. There were only a couple of other tables occupied out of 20-25 tables. Once seated a server room a long time to visit us so much that I had to get up to get our own menu. After we ordered the service was few and far between. Id give it four stars based on the food but service and ambiance was not so great.
Ronald Peterson
Restuarant was clean. Free private parking lot eliminates need to find street parking. We had dim sum which was good, fresh & robust. Service was friendly but not very attentive. You have to wave someone over for service. Overall I would definitely come back with my friends & family.
Gene Wong
Great for family reunions meal since many unique menu items are available
MyMy (MyMy)
My favorite dim sum place. Exceptional customer service
Justa Girl
The old Sunya. For my family, this is one of the best Dimsum in town. There is also parking available which is a great plus for the ID.
Sean Yin
Very good food possibly some of the best I've had in terms of flavor. However detracting a star due to the server being very predatory and marking everything she heard as something to order even though we were talking amongst ourselves trying to figure out what to order. She ended up adding 4 items that we didn't actually want or asked her to write down. Anything she heard even if it was a whisper to my significant other. she added.
Matthew P.
Food seemed just ok. Dumplings and buns were very large, but egg drop soup and soy sauce noodles were bland. No dumpling dipping sauce? Bathrooms were also unclean. Prices were good, service was excellent.
Cameron Lowell
We came for the normal entrees, not the dim sum. We got the roast duck, pigeon, lobster, fried rice, and a few other odds & ends. It wasn't bad - flavor was subtle in a lot of the dishes, huge portions. Meat tasted pretty fresh. I guess none of the dishes really stood out to me like I would've hoped, but all in all it wasn't bad. Their bread dessert was interesting, a fluffy brown bread that tastes a bit like a marshmallow.
Tripp Ceyssens
The service was nice and the food tasted good, we had a bit of food poisoning after the Steamed Pork Buns so just keep that in mind.
Ben Daniel
We loved the food here, the duck was amazing as well as the sponge cake. Loved everything we ordered and will be coming back the next time I'm in Seattle
Chan (我的世界 - My world)
They have parking. Big windows however dim sum was fair
Location wise it is not at the Main Street like Jackson. However, if you drive it has a relatively large parking right by the building.
Comfortable seating and friendly staffs. Didn’t take long to get the table. Hot dim sum carts go around from table to table. You pick variety dim sum off from the carts.
Great experience as the traditional dim sum breakfast. Give it a try
Jeanne Wicker
First time ordering from here and was NOT disappointed. Food was very good. Portion size for the fried rice was enough to share!
Robert Brown
This late night find in Seattle provided to be a jewel. As may spots in Seattle roll up the side walk at or before 9PM, Ocean Star is open until 10:30PM. The plus is the food was a wonderful experience. Price wise it was our best experience making this Seattle restaurant a go to for a dining experience.
Mei San Hui
Food was pretty good also they were out of things that seemed odd to be out of, like Don Tots. However, the service was terrible. They were way under staffed for a Sunday dim sum. Not sure if I would go back. Did was good, but not that good.
AphGabemiku Vargas
great food fantastic work on the Service! it's amazing
Christopher Lollini
Solid dim sum place. We’ve been going here for years. It’s no Din Thai Fung but hits the spot when you need some quick tasty dim sum. Don’t bother parking on the street. Pull into the busy parking lot and the guy will double park you if necessary. Just keep your eye on the kitchen so you can catch the hot stuff as it comes out instead of having to eat stuff that may have been on the cart a while.

Taking a family member for a Chinese Dinner has never been more pleasurable . With 3 children and 4 adults and a meal consisting of 10
assorted dishes of the most awesome tasting food and a server with the best and most friendly personality , we turned out to be the luckiest family on the planet. What a birthday. Our entire meal cost $101.00 and if anyone anywhere says they can get all that for less than we paid then bring me to them and I will supply the soap to wash their mouths out for lying. Treat yourselves to something special go there. You will not regret it. Omg! and the waiter was outstanding He even took the time to show me how to use the chopsticks and I was able to eat my entire meal with them. He also packaged the left over food for us and smiled the entire meal never showing any adverse reaction to the mess the small children were making. What a guy. They are so lucky to have him. Last but not least the place was clean and even the windows shined, something you wont find almost nowhere in the Seattle international district. Also the bathrooms were clean and sanitary. Thank You Ocean Star for this day!!!!!
Jessica Ward
First time there was on Christmas day. The place was full. I have never been there and neither had the rest of the people in my group. It was a great experience. The staff walk around with heated carts of different food. So many great options. I didn't see any menus but I am sure they have them. However the carts with different food was plenty.
Robert Williams
Old school Chinese, with its own parking lot, a big deal in this area. They have tons of live seafood, including delicious king crab (call ahead), and some things like squab which aren't common here. I had a great experience, and only wish I'd come years ago. I hope they survive the current era of aggressive development in the neighborhood, but urge you to enjoy it now.
Jenny T Ciami
My husband and I visit this place on sunday, and it was packed. The line is crazy, but there is no host that arrange the line or write down the waitlist, or who come first. So yeah, it was messy line. No one know who come first or how's the line supposed to be. We waited almost an hour to sat down. They actually had plenty table to sat me down, only they don't had enough people to clean up the table. So that's a concern. The food is okay. We ordered siomay, hakau, congee with bread stick, lotus rice, and steamed bun. Overall it's an okay experience.
Devon Burkhalter
Amazing food. Large portions for a low price. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a stop.
Sarah Hanchar
I have enjoyed Dim Sum here about 5 times and I am always pleased with the food and the service. The dumplings and buns are delicious and well prepared. I especially likeove the jasmine tea. It's like drinking a sunny garden, just delightful.
They have onsite parking which is handy, but is sometimes full.
I recommend this place, for sure!
Kris Stout
This place is amazing! Everything is flavored so well. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff was pleasant. This is one of my new favorite places to dine at.
Ed Chavez
Authentic Chinese restaurant, as it should, being in the heart of Seattle's International District. Extensive menu that even includes dimsum outside of the"normal" lunch hour.
Definitely earns a spot in your authentic restaurants rotation list 😋 in downtown Seattle.
Excellent for groups, free parking in their own private lot (it's not that big though), paid street parking otherwise. Excellent service. Moderately priced.
Michael Risoli
The wife and I met friends there for lunch on Saturday. There was a huge selection of dim sum and the staff was readily available and attentive. Hot tea was also served. Overall, a good meal that was reasonably priced.
Giselle Nizar
Best place for no frills dim sum in China town for large work parties over 10. They do have duck on their menu, and a wide variety of other favorites. And a full service bar. And that's great for work lunches.
Terrance F. Marrow
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Back in the day, this place was called Sun Ya. It is changed ownership twice now, the most recent as of June 2nd 2019. Irregardless of how many times that has changed hands, the food is still the same, delicious. Like my Tulalip Resort and Casino post, I have posted their entire menu, even their dim sum menu so that should make it easier for you to decide what you would like in advance to traveling to dine at this restaurant. Enjoy yourselves, I have for the last 30 years!
Marie Zerbe
Very delicious food. I highly recommend sharing a dish, as the portions are rather large, or at least my family and I thought so. Of the dishes we all ordered, I had the Prawns with Broccoli (my pick), Prawn Chow Mein, and our sampler appetizer came with some kind of roasted duck, roast pork, and a veggie egg roll, and everything was super tasty. I'm pretty sure the duck was actually my favorite off the app plate! Prawns were so fresh and well-cooked, they practically melted in my mouth.
Minor service note: our waiter didn't check on us for quite some time after everyone at our table received their dishes. We were left waiting for about 15 minutes after we had all finished eating before we had to flag him down for the check. We filled the time chatting and finishing the tea they have at the tables, so it's not like we sat there awkwardly in silence, but I could sense everyone was ready to leave and we finally had to ask for the check.
Rita Moon
Service style was new to me but excellent. Carts of steaming dim sum and fresh seafood dishes. We had an array of food in front of us, piping hot and very delicious!
BCM BCM
Excellent yummy well seasoned seafood..we had dim sum, walnut shrimp, calamari, tea,
and noodles..after tip it was about $42 . Not bad at all....looking forward to going back again soon....I give it 5 stars... hot and delicious⛄⛄⛄⛄
Norma Espinosa
Nice, clean. Food is good.We ordered variety. Beef Brisket Hot Pot, Seafood Chow Mein, House Fried Rice. Salt pepper Chicken Wings, Walnut Honey Shrimp, vegetable Pea Pod
Larry Marta
Lots of room ,I miss the food wagon for Dim Sum ,make sure you ask for water for everyone at table if you want water
Tom Kult
Fantastic food and very reasonable!
Morgan Wolff
Good seafood. Banquet menu is a little tougher price wise compared to Honey Court (also in Seattle). Table favorite was the bitter melon with spare ribs.
Bruce Meyers
Free parking in the International District. Very good Dim Sum. Right now the restaurant is offering live king crab for $9.99 a pound in the evening. E mein noodles were cooked perfectly and sizzling oyster hot plate was unbelievably tasty.
HChenFullerton
Very decent Chinese food. Good for dim sum. The place is newer looking and they have their own parking. A lot of Asians eating here, so that is a good sign.
Anthony Rabang
A really good place to get dim sum I've been going here for years weather it's to sit and eat or just to get a order to go.
S So
3 stars for cleanliness, compared to the previously Ocean City restaurant. Foods, however, is not as good as what it used to be. Meats are mostly soggy, and taste kinda weird.
Carl Johansen
Dim sum was wonderful. Wait staff very helpful in explaining contents of dim sum. Restaurant was not very noisy so we could actually talk to each other! Will certainly return.
Carrielyn Louie
We consider this our family's restaurant. My husband and I had our engagement dinner here and it's the first restaurant we took our infant daughter to oh so long ago. We are there a every other Friday for dinner. Staff is friendly and food is good.
Dara Elish
So so so good! I'm very picky about crab(i usually catch my own)but this was so good with theginger and green onion! Sesame balls pot stickers...everything was Great!
Dave Hobley
The Chinese food here was some of the best I've had in Washington State. But they could have brought more tea for the number of people we have so we didn't have to keep asking for more when we needed it.
Nick
Exceptionally friendly staff with decent food. I've never had to wait to be seated for a weekend lunch, so if you're looking for some quick and good dim sum this is the place to go.
Dave M
Great dim sum place in ID. Those pineapple buns are life...
gr hafford
Very interesting restaurant. Dim sum was good. Variety was extensive. Waiters and waitresses were very helpful. Staff answered any questions about food and variety excetera. Prices were reasonable. Restrooms were clean.
Jacob Schmitt
My son and I have gone for dim sum here, prior to the Seahawks first 2 home games. The parking in Chinatown seems to be always full, and Ocean Star has a limited parking lot which is always full too. They still come around with the food on the carts, but can bring other dishes if you ask. There is a lounge/bar where you can watch the football games, but minors are not permitted. We order the usual items: haw gow, sui mai, turnip cake, and deep fried dumplings. The haw gow and sui mai are good, but just smaller than what we're used to at our regular place back home. The turnip cake is good, but just hope that it hasnt been in the cart too long - as the steam makes it softer. The dumplings are good and full of meat. Including tip, the total is about $20. A good value for the food.
Donald Keating
Not the cleanest place. Service was good. Food wasn't as good as I remembered. In fact the name changed too. 🤨 …
Vivian Lizama Cruz
Great food ! Every year family birthday gatherings! Great space !
w4drone
Super good food, recommend the soups
Gen V
For Seattle this place is really good, but only because Seattle chinese restaurants are not the best. The chow mein was good, and so was the sweet n sour chicken. The wonton soup was awful. Bbq pork buns are lovely. Pretty good. Probably come back.
dana pape
Love this place! Used to be Sun Ya and now Ocean City. Many people there have been a part of both. Really enjoyed the jellyfish appetizer on combo with duck as well as the sizzling seafood platter with phenomenal fish and shrimp and veggies!
Was here a few days ago for dim sum, which is one of the best in chinatown/international district! Shrimp wrapped in tofu, shrimp cakes on green pepper or eggplant, shrimp wrapped in noodles or rice wrapper, duck, chicken feet (one of my favorites in town) and mango pudding, sesame balls, broccoli, plus many more. Every day for lunch 7 days a week they have dim sum plus their own parking lot with a great parking attendant. Don't forget to tip him when he gets you out and into those tight spots. Amazing dude!
There is always fresh live seafood available in season. I've always wanted to get the king crab prepared 3 different ways. Seasonal gorgeousness now is lobster and spot prawns. Also they have goeduck, oysters and dungeness crabs live.
Another great feature of this establishment is the enthusiasm in the cocktail lounge! Always great people and drinks!!
Ocean Star is a great destination for big and small groups to enjoy!
Ricco Giancana
Been eating there for about 17 years. It had been Sun Ya for a long time and recently changed to ocean star. Longtime server staff is still there. Food is still great and they have the largest live tank in Chinatown. Live lobster, Dungeness & King crab, spot prawn, geoduck, lingcod. Fair prices plus I can always get a parking spot. Double parking in the small parking lot is ok and managed by a lot attendant. It's had some remodel since the new owner including the bar area which seems a little more lively now. Good stuff.
David Tov
We were in town and searching for a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Picked the restaurant because they had some decent parking. The food was good and service was quick due to the fact it was close to the end of the evening. We would definitely come back.
Audy Vasquez-Ramirez
A must visit when you are in Seattle. The food is good, fresh there is fresh and live sea crabs and other variety. Plenty of parking, it’s located in china district in Seattle. We eat black bean grab, shrimp fry rice, and vegetables it was delicious.
kevin hart
The food was slightly below average the price was exorbitant and never returned used to be sonja's that was great this new place is not even close
Tammy Hirano
Love Ocean Star!! Staff is fantastic and always attentive and helpful. Food is good, drinks are fantastic. Best place to go for pregame drinks and food.
May Alexander
Ordered to go on the phone and was greeted as soon as I walked in. Food tasted good, price was reasonable, had small and full portion options. They have their own parking lot with is great!
Cameron Tabrizi
Excellent dim sum, great prices, prompt service and ample seating.
Jesse Kim
Food is great, excellent service. Usually my go to dim sum spot as well.
Miriam Keith
Sooooo goooooood
Matt Becker
Phenominal authentic Chinese seafood restaurant. That crab was sweet steamed an topped with garlic. The crab "tamales" was made on to a fried rice. Salt and pepper shrimp and squid were unreal. Sauteed chinese greens with garlic fresh and flavorful. Stuffed steamed tofu with shrimp paste very nice. Their mixed fried rice was awesome. I definitely recommend this place. Oh yeah fresh geoduck steamed and a soup made. Delicious one of the finest Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten at and I've been to many across the country.
Matt Becker
Phenominal authentic Chinese restaurant. Live seafood, delicious entrees a most come to restaurant if you are in town.
Tom Carroll
Great staff, best custom framing in Seattle.
Charlotte Holm
Amazing food properly cooked and it's really hot & fresh when it gets to your table. It's my personal favorite place to eat
Jim Ingram
Traditional dim sum lunch with old friends. Pick your meal from a wheeled cart they bring to each table. Lots of delicious.
Kris
Great dim sum! Also it is a big place, so you can usually sit down immediately and find parking in their lot.
dean shelton
Seattle's International District tends to trade "best" dimsum spots all the time. First it's all about Harbor City. Next it's all about Jade Garden. But right now, it's about Ocean Star, and the wait is virtually ZERO compared to it's over-hyped contemporaries. Hot food off the cart. Best Shumai in recent memory. Radish cakes on-point. Fresh, amazing, sticky rice. Don't miss this place.
Nancy Wong
Love the dim sum and Free Parking right in front of the restaurant. The updating of bathrooms and restaurant have made a big difference! We eat here every time we go to Seattle.
Steve Wall
Good place, the hostess was very helpful to first time visitors meal was served quickly and lots of choices
Michael Santos

Zanecia Jackson

Customer service is excellent
Donna Herzfeldt-Kamprath
Yummy appetizers. Entrees were ok but not outstanding.
Michelle Hill
The food is always hot and fresh. I come from 20 miles to get their dim sum. Sooo good
Pacific Rock Northwest
Great place for dim-sum and other chinese entrees. Their own parking lot is small but definitely helpful ESPECIALLY at Chinatown area where parking is a battle at busy times
David Faour
Fast service. Tastes great. Inexpensive. What else could you ask for?
K
This is by far the BEST dim sum. They open 9am dim sum for breakfast is yummy. The shrimp pops in your mouth.
John Kim
Consistent good quality dim sum; not as greasy as others; reasonably priced, ample space; good for groups/families; free private parking but small & usually full; tried other popular dim sum places but always come back here for years even after owner change 😀 …
Larry LaMar
Food was decent, service was bad. Would I go back? Maybe they were just having a bad day.
Tanner Wendell Stewart
It’s like being transported to Hong Kong!! Food is tasty and there are plenty of locals who I always see here. Clean, fast, good prices, what more can you ask for?!
Tiffany-Ashton Gatsby
I've been here twice, once for dim sum brunch which was out of this world and another for dinner on Christmas eve. The food is ridiculously good. I had some Chinese broccoli and honey walnut prawns. And the fried rice had lettuce in it .... i was not expecting that. I was also not expecting stir fries lettuce to make the fried rice so tasty! Service is a little slow but you won't care.
Mark MRB
Good hong kong style chinese food.
Ben (Ben)

It seems the new owners kept the dim sum recipies. It's exactly how I remembered, although no valet parking (on Tues anyway).
B. F. Galbraith
Historically the best dim sum on the west coast, menu updates over time and they try new things, but over all is very good.
DANIEL PHILLIPS
Having trouble finding employees. They did their best. Food was great.
Nori V
We always come here for Chinese food. This place has good dim sum. They are known for their fresh seafood in the tank - King and Dungeness crabs, and spotted shrimps. I recently had their Hot 'n Sour soup, which isn't too spicy. I LOVE their Garlic Green Beans. They are always crunchy and generous with their fresh chopped garlic. I had gone into their bar and their bartenders are friendly. The regular patrons there are friendly and seems to welcome everyone who is new. A MUST TRY!
Quadlaser
Really it was the only place we could find parking. Food turned out to be good. Large portions.

seriously? really?
Formerly the Sun Ya. Authentic dim sum in the heart of Seattle's Asian district. We've been eating here for 30yrs and it's where the locals come to eat because we are always the only caucasians in the place! Delicious food! Big open dining room. Fresh quick service steam carts means you can fit in a full meal in a reasonable lunch hour. Free valet parking is tight ( small lot) come early to get a space.

Very friendly service and nice atmosphere. Free parking lot with like 20 spaces which is amazing for being in Chinatown! Tons of seating and good for large get togethers or events.
All the food was pretty good and had a standard type of flavor. No big downsides. They have all day dim sum to order along with their other normal dishes. Some items were priced a little higher than normal, but there were some good deals as well. The duck was a fair portion for a fair price ($8.50). It did seem a little old, but it was still yummy. The tripe was somewhat muted in flavor, but we finished it all. Green beans had a nice flavor and a fresh crunch to them. Good portion. Rice was $1.50 per small rice bowl, which might be my only complaint.
They do give you complementary hot tea.
Credit cards are accepted.
Jennifer Lewis
I did both dine in and take out. Was looking for some authentic home cooking and boy did I hit a jackpot! The food was absolutely handmade and you can taste the love they put into the food, especially the yummy dessert choices!

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch here, sharing our dishes, and boxing up what we couldn't finish. The portions are huge, colorful, and beautiful. The soup was outstanding and very spicy! Yum!
